- 0:00Speaker 1: I have to say last week's episode was super choppy.
- 0:02Speaker 1: It was like I felt like I was watching Matt tadmoone.
- 0:04Speaker 2: It was a little much.
- 0:05Speaker 3: It was what was shoppy?
- 0:07Speaker 1: I mean not you know, his editor's move, but when
- 0:09Speaker 1: you're someone like who pays attention, Yeah, it was like like, oh,
- 0:13Speaker 1: that might be a little much. I think I don't
- 0:15Speaker 1: forget what our time to cut down me?
- 0:17Speaker 3: But yeah, I don't listen.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I meant to tell him this before.
- 0:25Speaker 3: I he gonna say, you're criticizing my work?
- 0:39Speaker 2: What's up y'all?
- 0:40Speaker 1: Tripoy dj been I mean aka Ghost in the Shelf
- 0:43Speaker 1: to doctor Who's man sussists, Master splinter cell Trinidad bang,
- 0:47Speaker 1: keep that same inner John when you see me reading
- 0:50Speaker 1: ram Bro here up in the spaceship tonight. I gotta
- 0:55Speaker 1: talk about that in a second. But as always, I'm
- 0:57Speaker 1: joined by my.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Co host Tartana King d Grand Duchess of Tech, also
- 1:01Speaker 4: known as doc Achi, Tetterbrak Thompson, Tatiana Kan the Conqueror, Tatiana.
- 1:06Speaker 3: The kings Layer, KULDI got to lead it down to
- 1:08Speaker 3: the socks.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I'm dreaming of a Walter White Christmas and the Ting
- 1:12Speaker 4: of the North.
- 1:13Speaker 2: All right, well, we are here on for All Nerds show.
- 1:16Speaker 1: We are also live on Twitch, dot tv, slash for
- 1:20Speaker 1: All Nerds, and I mean absolutely live. So if you're
- 1:22Speaker 1: actually watching this right now, what up? Thank you to
- 1:25Speaker 1: everybody out there. We'll be doing a lot more lives
- 1:27Speaker 1: in twenty twenty five. You like that live in twenty
- 1:30Speaker 1: twenty five. But if you're watching this afterwards, you know
- 1:33Speaker 1: you're just hearing us. Thank you for joining us. This
- 1:35Speaker 1: is our year end of wrap up show where we
- 1:38Speaker 1: are gonna talk about all the good things that happen
- 1:41Speaker 1: this year. And on that note, before we get to
- 1:43Speaker 1: the good things, I do want to say something. I
- 1:45Speaker 1: was trying to make a post about this, like, unfortunately,
- 1:49Speaker 1: there were some dumb things said to me this year,
- 1:51Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And I was gonna make
- 1:52Speaker 1: a list of the dumbest things said to me because
- 1:54Speaker 1: some of them happen online. Some of them happened when
- 1:57Speaker 1: I'm DJing, like I've got I've got a class astic
- 2:00Speaker 1: from when I was DJing. I didn't tell you about
- 2:02Speaker 1: this topic out of when this dude told me to
- 2:03Speaker 1: play Pokemon Go because he'd known the groom for twenty
- 2:07Speaker 1: years since they were kids and he wanted to hear
- 2:09Speaker 1: the Pokemon Go theme song and.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Do a speech Pokemon go, not just Pokemon No, Pokemon Go.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Not got the game? Yeah the game? Okay, yeah, the
- 2:19Speaker 2: theme song to the game. I guess it. Did Pokemon go? Right? Yeah?
- 2:22Speaker 2: He I remember him specifically saying Pokemon Go.
- 2:24Speaker 3: It's just interesting because you said he.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Knew his man's maybe maybe it's just Pokemon. I assumed
- 2:30Speaker 4: he met from the original TV show.
- 2:32Speaker 1: But it wasn't no, because it wasn't original TV show
- 2:35Speaker 1: because it was something specific ex that and I downloaded
- 2:37Speaker 1: to do it. I don't know the original TV show,
- 2:40Speaker 1: but the rhythmal TV shows probably catchy.
- 2:42Speaker 2: This shi was a hot.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Catch, you know. The original show was even thought fun.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Nobody wanted to hear that ship, you know, in the
- 2:48Speaker 2: middle of the party anyway.
- 2:50Speaker 3: No, unless you're mixing it in, unless you.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Do it happening. Yeah, we ain't doing all.
- 2:54Speaker 3: That right right, We're not at Comic Con, got it?
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:56Speaker 2: No, right away. So it was one of the dumbest
- 2:59Speaker 2: things to me this year.
- 3:00Speaker 1: And then Nigga cursed me out, not you know whatever,
- 3:04Speaker 1: random cursed me out after that, yo, Yeah, oh, I
- 3:08Speaker 1: mean cursed me gave me the absolute business faults like,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I mean, du oh was he he?
- 3:16Speaker 2: Uh?
- 3:16Speaker 1: The manager told me he had proposed to her earlier
- 3:19Speaker 1: in the night. He was hammertimeed. But my man gave
- 3:24Speaker 1: me the absolute business to the point where the photographer
- 3:28Speaker 1: who's like working the photo move nexts to me was
- 3:30Speaker 1: not even there every week like I am at the venue.
- 3:32Speaker 1: He's like, yo, that dude, just you know, say something.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, bro, because all I did was
- 3:37Speaker 1: sit there and be like, you're right, sir, you're right,
- 3:39Speaker 1: you're right, you're right. And it's funny because one of
- 3:42Speaker 1: the other dumbest things said to me was on a
- 3:44Speaker 1: phone conversation I had earlier this year, and then I
- 3:46Speaker 1: ended with telling the same person with a different person,
- 3:49Speaker 1: you're right, you're right, you're right, which I've learned is
- 3:51Speaker 1: just like the way to deal with people who are
- 3:53Speaker 1: spitting a bunch of dumb shit to.
- 3:55Speaker 3: The troll tactics troll in real life.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I real life. I was like, you're right, you're right,
- 3:59Speaker 1: you're right. You know you're a terrible DJ dude. You
- 4:04Speaker 1: you ge't downloaded right now? I think you should already
- 4:07Speaker 1: downloaded and listen through it. You know, I think you
- 4:09Speaker 1: should be the download stuff, you know, you know, just
- 4:14Speaker 1: like you're right, You're.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Right, you're right, because when someone goes to complaint and say, well,
- 4:18Speaker 4: what the DJ Ben Hamen said, he said, I was right,
- 4:23Speaker 4: It's like that there's no defense there. It's like, okay,
- 4:28Speaker 4: and what should I do with this information?
- 4:30Speaker 1: Like oh yep, and yeah, I had another Like I said,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I had a conversation earlier this year that you know
- 4:37Speaker 1: about where someone said a bunch of nonsense to me.
- 4:41Speaker 1: And that goes back to my other one that I
- 4:43Speaker 1: wanted to ask you. When you were growing up, the
- 4:45Speaker 1: phrase reading is fundamental was still a thing, right, Yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I don't think it is anymore.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Well, a lot of things are not fundamental anymore, I know,
- 4:54Speaker 4: but that's wild.
- 4:55Speaker 3: That's all children have been left behind apparently.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:58Speaker 1: That yo, I'm I'm learning that more and more. Like
- 5:02Speaker 1: you know, it's like you hear about the you know,
- 5:04Speaker 1: the decline in our education system.
- 5:07Speaker 2: But now I'm seeing it in real time.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You know, I'm seeing the influence of like TikTok and
- 5:13Speaker 1: chat gpt over books, you know, and like sadly Joe
- 5:18Speaker 1: Rogan and fuck Andrew Schultz, you know, and various people
- 5:22Speaker 1: of this nature over books.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I like it.
- 5:24Speaker 3: That's his full name.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Now, Like, oh yeah, it's been that.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You know you were there, Tae down And I'll say
- 5:29Speaker 1: this on that. That's one of my big regrets, not
- 5:32Speaker 1: slapping Andrew Schultz.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Up, you know what I mean, Like you had the opportunity.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I had the opportunity right there. He was right there,
- 5:39Speaker 1: he asked for it, he tried it. I wouldn't have
- 5:42Speaker 1: been in the right, but I wouldn't have been wrong.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And I could have dragged his ass around his own
- 5:47Speaker 1: studio and it would have been a perfect timing for it.
- 5:50Speaker 2: And I didn't you win something, you lose something.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But you know, it's sad that people are trusting the
- 5:56Speaker 1: lights of these people over books, you know what I mean,
- 5:59Speaker 1: even people like me do. Don't trust me over fucking books. Young,
- 6:03Speaker 1: go ahead and fucking read, you know what I mean,
- 6:05Speaker 1: do yourself a favor, like read a book. Well, especially
- 6:09Speaker 1: I've read a lot of books a year. That's to
- 6:10Speaker 1: go with my best of too.
- 6:11Speaker 3: It depends on what state.
- 6:13Speaker 4: You live in, because like, if you're in Florida, they're
- 6:14Speaker 4: they're dumping a lot of those books.
- 6:16Speaker 3: And yo on that Pho dumpster is worth the books.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I'm like, damn, support your local library.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I just drot a brooch and public library card and
- 6:25Speaker 1: the digital version is so sick my dog, Like, oh
- 6:29Speaker 1: my god, I've grabbed so many joints, you know what
- 6:31Speaker 1: I mean. I got the James Baldwin The Fire. Next time,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I was reading the sequel to Sick Thoughts, which is
- 6:37Speaker 1: this dope ass book by H. Jutt Appetite. It's juet
- 6:41Speaker 1: appatitil interviewing a bunch of people. So I got sick
- 6:43Speaker 1: of Thoughts because I reread Sick Thoughts over. I'm sick
- 6:46Speaker 1: in the head and sicker in the head. I reread
- 6:49Speaker 1: Sick in the Head over and over again because those
- 6:51Speaker 1: interviews are classic. It's like Appatarle interviewing all these comedians
- 6:55Speaker 1: and shit. So yeah, I was reading the second one's
- 6:58Speaker 1: Fire too.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Definitely support your local library and like be vocal, but
- 7:03Speaker 4: like you're the library is a bastion of like peace
- 7:07Speaker 4: is a bastion of education, obviously and knowledge, and it's constantly, constantly,
- 7:12Speaker 4: constantly under attack, even the most liberal cult of places
- 7:16Speaker 4: like New York City.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Thanks Eric Adams, So like.
- 7:21Speaker 4: You whatever y'all can do, like, we have to guard
- 7:25Speaker 4: safeguard libraries literally with our lives and places like that,
- 7:30Speaker 4: because libraries offer so much more besides just letting you
- 7:33Speaker 4: check out books, like I mean, I don't know if
- 7:36Speaker 4: they do the physical media anymore, but before many many years,
- 7:39Speaker 4: many years ago, like they would do they like you
- 7:41Speaker 4: could get DVDs from there. You can get physical again,
- 7:45Speaker 4: physical media of things that you may not be able
- 7:48Speaker 4: to get anymore, because now that everything's been digitized, it
- 7:51Speaker 4: gives internet, you know, internet access a warm place for
- 7:54Speaker 4: some people, you know what I mean, like a meeting
- 7:57Speaker 4: grounds or place to study, like a place to can
- 8:00Speaker 4: like it's a place to.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Gain culture and as mentioned, just information.
- 8:04Speaker 4: So libraries are way more valuable than people like you know,
- 8:12Speaker 4: don't really communicate it to be So be careful, guys,
- 8:15Speaker 4: we gotta be careful.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I'm so scared. I'm sorry. I'm like, veeering off into
- 8:19Speaker 3: all my fears.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Go ahead, Yeah, I don't worry. I'm terrified to every day.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Every day I'm like, I'm making all these plans for
- 8:25Speaker 1: next year, and I'm like, what's it going to be
- 8:27Speaker 1: like next year?
- 8:29Speaker 3: Bruh? Is it just me?
- 8:30Speaker 4: Does it feel like preparing for COVID, Like COVID was
- 8:33Speaker 4: interesting in the fact that it was a global disaster
- 8:36Speaker 4: that didn't see coming and then like you were just
- 8:40Speaker 4: living in it, right, like I legit when you know,
- 8:42Speaker 4: when it was at its like I saw it coming
- 8:45Speaker 4: in terms of like I was tracking it since like
- 8:47Speaker 4: the fall at the time, like like September of that
- 8:50Speaker 4: of twenty twenty ninety, when was it twenty nineteen, and
- 8:54Speaker 4: then when it hit March twenty twenty, like I knew,
- 8:58Speaker 4: but I didn't know.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I was in Jamaica in February and I remember like
- 9:03Speaker 1: and everyone around me.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Was like.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I knew, I didn't.
- 9:08Speaker 4: And the reason why I knew be cause I knew,
- 9:09Speaker 4: like I already had masks and everything going crazy, but
- 9:13Speaker 4: like I said, I still didn't know. And then it
- 9:14Speaker 4: was like the most mild form, but it was giving
- 9:18Speaker 4: like walking down a little bit to me, like in
- 9:19Speaker 4: terms of like there being nothing, no one in the streets,
- 9:22Speaker 4: you know, like many times because I'm insane, I went
- 9:25Speaker 4: into the city, actually drove into the city and just
- 9:29Speaker 4: saw shit I never seen in my life, like tumbleweed
- 9:31Speaker 4: going down. Fucking Ain't that, you know, Ain't shit happening
- 9:34Speaker 4: on the street like like that, and they.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Don't see it's not gonna be like that.
- 9:39Speaker 4: And then I'm saying the comparison I'm trying to make
- 9:41Speaker 4: is like, yeah, I can't even It's like, I know
- 9:45Speaker 4: this has coming, something has come in because we actually
- 9:47Speaker 4: been through it already and I still don't know what
- 9:49Speaker 4: to expect.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Yeah, but we haven't been through it like this, and
- 9:52Speaker 1: it's gonna be a different I think the best one,
- 9:55Speaker 1: like somebody else said when they were there, comparing when
- 9:57Speaker 1: they their parents are about living in Spain and the
- 10:00Speaker 1: fascist regime that took over there, and they're like, you
- 10:03Speaker 1: should be normal until it isn't and then when it is,
- 10:06Speaker 1: and this to be horrible, you know, and we don't know,
- 10:11Speaker 1: you know, like there are still checks and balances in
- 10:13Speaker 1: America that can you know there are some, Yes, there
- 10:18Speaker 1: are still some, but no, I mean we've already been
- 10:22Speaker 1: moving to a lot of dumb ship you know, with
- 10:24Speaker 1: or without this dude, Like true, Like that was my
- 10:27Speaker 1: other issue you know with Ms Harris that you know
- 10:30Speaker 1: a lot of her policies were exact same, and you know,
- 10:34Speaker 1: it's just the country is moving conservative and the world
- 10:37Speaker 1: is in a lot of places, so but.
- 10:39Speaker 4: The world, the world often reflects with the US is
- 10:41Speaker 4: doing so starts the best in the worlds like oh,
- 10:44Speaker 4: we're gonna jump in.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, And he started as best a while ago.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And you know it's been carried on throughout the last administration,
- 10:52Speaker 1: even though you know they weren't in full power. You know,
- 10:55Speaker 1: the vibes were there and so.
- 10:58Speaker 4: And also just and just in closing, like people have
- 11:01Speaker 4: to understand the things that presidents and that and stuff
- 11:04Speaker 4: have replications repercussions for years to come, and you don't
- 11:08Speaker 4: feel the effect of their policies until after they're already
- 11:11Speaker 4: out of office. Oh so, like you know, even the
- 11:14Speaker 4: good and the band too, Like if if a regime
- 11:17Speaker 4: or president whatever you want to call it, put something
- 11:19Speaker 4: in place that actually was helpful, you're not going to
- 11:21Speaker 4: see the effects until the next regime is in and
- 11:23Speaker 4: then they're going to take credit for it, and it's
- 11:26Speaker 4: just kind of vicious cycles or tear it apart or
- 11:31Speaker 4: exactly exactly exactly, so sorry, but that's not why we're here.
- 11:38Speaker 1: That's I mean, I think we got through the worst
- 11:40Speaker 1: of the year already, so now you know, we can
- 11:43Speaker 1: cheer it up a little bit and do our best
- 11:45Speaker 1: of the year.
- 11:46Speaker 2: This is the best of the best to us.
- 11:49Speaker 1: This is our personal opinion obviously, just what we've been
- 11:52Speaker 1: feeling over the year.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Nothing more than that.
- 11:55Speaker 1: I wouldn't even say this is like an award show
- 11:58Speaker 1: or anything of that nature that shout out to the
- 12:01Speaker 1: sparties you know, who are doing a real big yes
- 12:03Speaker 1: to spawn on me who I know will be returning
- 12:06Speaker 1: for twenty twenty five.
- 12:07Speaker 2: That's an official award show.
- 12:08Speaker 1: That is you know, definitely take part in fuck with it, yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 1: word up. But you know we can do our best
- 12:14Speaker 1: of the year whatever. It's clever, so like best.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Series, movies, games or that.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Take it off with some honorable mentions then and I
- 12:23Speaker 4: gave honorable mention to The Penguin and Batman Cape Crusader
- 12:26Speaker 4: only because I didn't finish it, but I did start
- 12:29Speaker 4: it and just very very very very good TV.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Okay, get Batman Cape Crusader.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Remember Joe Illage put us on a few months back
- 12:39Speaker 4: when he was at your where we were at your
- 12:43Speaker 4: comic book signing back at Anyone Comics, And Joe just
- 12:46Speaker 4: explained as as a former Batman editor, as he likes
- 12:49Speaker 4: to say, as a former legendary Batman Editor, how this
- 12:53Speaker 4: animation on Amazon Prime, this Newish animated series is It's
- 13:00Speaker 4: very what's the word I'm looking for.
- 13:01Speaker 3: It sticks to the heart of what Batman is.
- 13:03Speaker 4: And like if you ever watched the original like for me,
- 13:06Speaker 4: like w k's original Batman and animated series, like, it's
- 13:09Speaker 4: in that same vein and it's giving.
- 13:12Speaker 3: That's what I want to say. It's giving.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I enjoy it. Voice acting is amazing. Of course, the
- 13:16Speaker 4: animation is amazing. They never fail on it. DC will
- 13:18Speaker 4: never fail when it comes to animation.
- 13:20Speaker 2: So yep, but I've seen none of it, but I
- 13:23Speaker 2: trust you.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's it's it's worth it.
- 13:26Speaker 4: And then of course the Penguin what's my man's name,
- 13:30Speaker 4: Colin Farrell Christ.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I just downloaded to drop from him, I mean
- 13:34Speaker 1: from the Penguin where he's talking about it. It's the
- 13:37Speaker 1: fucking best when he's talking about the smoothies. Yeah, it's good.
- 13:44Speaker 1: It's not just good, it's the fucking best. Yeah, I'll
- 13:47Speaker 1: say this about Penguin. I've found the show utterly pointless.
- 13:50Speaker 1: By the end of it, well, well I.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Even finish it.
- 13:53Speaker 4: So hold on, hold on, I mean when I say
- 13:56Speaker 4: hold on, like just don't tell me everything that yeah, okay.
- 14:00Speaker 2: But I found it good as hell, but really good
- 14:03Speaker 2: right now.
- 14:03Speaker 4: It's cool and and like I said, I like Confer
- 14:05Speaker 4: as an actor. I like his how deep did this
- 14:08Speaker 4: man talk about? Like method acting? Or just you know
- 14:12Speaker 4: when they have to go to therapy later because they
- 14:13Speaker 4: did too much with the.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah, do you feel like he's doing a James Dandolphini
- 14:20Speaker 1: as a Tony impersonation? About halfway through the show that
- 14:25Speaker 1: hit me and it just never left me after I would.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Then it's like it's like Jamie Fox and Ray right,
- 14:36Speaker 1: It's like it's good.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And then it's also Jamie Fox on you know, in
- 14:41Speaker 2: Living Color doing Ray.
- 14:42Speaker 4: You know, it's no, I like, you're disrespectful good like
- 14:49Speaker 4: Joe look at it different.
- 14:50Speaker 1: It's it's good because Jamie Fox is you know, exceptional.
- 14:54Speaker 1: And that's actually honorable mention is his stand up on Netflix.
- 14:57Speaker 1: That's another honorable actually had that.
- 15:00Speaker 3: That's one of my tops.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely I fucked with that, tough. I
- 15:03Speaker 2: fucked with that.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Jamie Fox.
- 15:05Speaker 1: What Happened was And it's Anthony jessl Neck's special on Netflix.
- 15:10Speaker 1: As always though it's God to your work. Anthony jessel
- 15:14Speaker 1: Neck is my favorite white boy comedian right now. Though,
- 15:16Speaker 1: that man, it's like absolutely outrageously good. Yeah, he's he's
- 15:22Speaker 1: a monster.
- 15:23Speaker 3: What's another? What's another honorable mention from alcams for you?
- 15:26Speaker 1: The Bear and House the Dragon for the Wasted time
- 15:28Speaker 1: of war? Even I said this wasn't an award show
- 15:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna give these two? Was okay, everyone's damn time?
- 15:36Speaker 1: Why there seasons?
- 15:38Speaker 3: I already kind of agreed why, but okay, one by one?
- 15:42Speaker 3: The Bear? What did what was the waste?
- 15:44Speaker 1: My god, there is more even more egregious than House
- 15:49Speaker 1: the Dragon. Because the Bear takes place in modern times
- 15:52Speaker 1: in twenty twenty four, I guess, you know, maybe it
- 15:55Speaker 1: takes place at some other time where player doesn't have
- 15:58Speaker 1: a fucking phone. Oh my god, this nigga spent a
- 16:03Speaker 1: whole season and didn't call this woman.
- 16:07Speaker 2: He cursed her.
- 16:08Speaker 3: And it was like several months went by, right, I don't.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Know how much time the time time, time time went by,
- 16:16Speaker 1: and like he curses her out at the end of
- 16:18Speaker 1: the second season and for the whole third season, there
- 16:21Speaker 1: is not one interaction between these two characters. I mean
- 16:26Speaker 1: not one. And I was supposed to actually care if
- 16:30Speaker 1: he comes around her or into that season, Claire should
- 16:33Speaker 1: fucking at the least punch him in his face, at
- 16:37Speaker 1: the most shoot him. So the series ends on a
- 16:40Speaker 1: high note because as much as I love the Bear,
- 16:44Speaker 1: that was utterly agregious, like it made season three garbage
- 16:48Speaker 1: to me, honestly, And I love the show. I think,
- 16:51Speaker 1: you know, it's phenomenal acting, it has some phenomenal writing,
- 16:54Speaker 1: but I thought season three was insulting in the same
- 16:58Speaker 1: way the Game of Thrones was like Game. I mean,
- 17:00Speaker 1: How's the Dragon? Like How's the Dragon? I feel like
- 17:02Speaker 1: it isn't even as bad because at least in How's
- 17:05Speaker 1: Dragon you can argue the character or trying to avoid
- 17:08Speaker 1: this horrible war that is from me. So you know,
- 17:10Speaker 1: you can give them that credit. You can give this
- 17:13Speaker 1: negro no credit. You can give him credit for not
- 17:16Speaker 1: calling her, but then you can't give her credit for
- 17:19Speaker 1: actually the writer's credit for having her hang around the
- 17:21Speaker 1: peripheral and not calling him up and being like, nigga, please,
- 17:24Speaker 1: it's over. Never talk to me again. Wow, you know,
- 17:27Speaker 1: after a month or so, like, come on, fam, no,
- 17:31Speaker 1: but you're not know what I'm saying. We're actually supposed
- 17:33Speaker 1: to be invested enough to be like, oh, next season,
- 17:36Speaker 1: what's to happen between Claire and Jeremy. Nothing, bitch, He
- 17:39Speaker 1: deserves nothing. He is the villain of his series. He's
- 17:44Speaker 1: Walter White in a restaurant.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Listen, a bitch.
- 17:50Speaker 1: If you didn't, if you didn't get therapy, does Wonder's faults?
- 17:56Speaker 1: I say it again and again. This man is a
- 17:59Speaker 1: rich white man. We're not rich, but then well off
- 18:01Speaker 1: enough where he can get therapy. No excuses here.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Two responses though for you. So one, you just calling
- 18:08Speaker 4: the bear the main guy by his real life government name,
- 18:11Speaker 4: saying fuck Jeremy, but like Jeremy Allen White is the
- 18:15Speaker 4: actor that was his name is Karmi.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, sorry, sorry, sorry, Jeremy. You're a great actor.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Everyone on the show was fantastic.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 4: And then second, the fact that you call Karmie a
- 18:29Speaker 4: negro just now, like you were just like, that's ain't
- 18:34Speaker 4: nothing about a nigga, you know he is, Okay, come on,
- 18:37Speaker 4: and that's.
- 18:38Speaker 2: What I mean, like I mean in the Chris Rock
- 18:40Speaker 2: term a nigga.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Like you know, I know what you mean, but not
- 18:43Speaker 3: even nigga. You said negro.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, there we go. Even worse. He like, what's my man?
- 18:49Speaker 2: He like negro?
- 18:53Speaker 4: I listen. I also have the bear on my antible
- 18:56Speaker 4: mentions I.
- 18:57Speaker 2: He pulls this panther when he dances.
- 19:00Speaker 4: I put the bear in my I don't mention. I mean,
- 19:04Speaker 4: I love your rant. It was fantastic. Ten would listen again.
- 19:10Speaker 3: I Okay, this season in.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Whole wasn't a complete waste for me because of one
- 19:19Speaker 4: episode starring Tina. Okay, that one episode which also gave
- 19:25Speaker 4: that gave her the the Emmy or whatever she.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Got for it. Yeah, I know that.
- 19:29Speaker 4: I'm I'm I'm not gonna completely destroy it just because
- 19:33Speaker 4: like that was phenomenal and I'm just happy that one
- 19:36Speaker 4: of my favorite characters and someone who is just a
- 19:38Speaker 4: beautiful person in real life anyway.
- 19:40Speaker 3: But like, I'm just really happy about that, and it
- 19:42Speaker 3: was worth it.
- 19:43Speaker 4: There was a lot of stuff that was not worth
- 19:45Speaker 4: it in this season, and when it was over, I
- 19:48Speaker 4: looked at my husband like, I like, that's it, Like
- 19:53Speaker 4: that's the end. And I don't know, like it was
- 19:56Speaker 4: very experimental. I will say, like the first, very first
- 19:58Speaker 4: episode where it's like third plus minutes of no dialogue,
- 20:02Speaker 4: just this happening. I thought it was beautiful because I thought,
- 20:05Speaker 4: like you shold that the the energy and the art
- 20:09Speaker 4: of cooking and the strengths and the weaknesses, like like
- 20:15Speaker 4: to be able to do a lot of emotional work
- 20:19Speaker 4: without saying a word.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I thought you just said.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I'm saying they did that in that episode, and I
- 20:23Speaker 1: was fired. And then they did that TEENA episode and.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Then everything else didn't kind of matter, no, and that's
- 20:28Speaker 3: what I'm saying.
- 20:29Speaker 1: And they didn't do a lot more experimental ship where
- 20:30Speaker 1: I can be like, Okay, well least they were doing
- 20:32Speaker 1: wild shit every at least it was in Atlanta season.
- 20:34Speaker 1: This ain't Atlanta, you know what I mean. And Atlanta
- 20:36Speaker 1: doesn't get near enough to credit that deserves when it's
- 20:39Speaker 1: off the air now, because comparatively, these are the same
- 20:42Speaker 1: type of you know, like experimental, weird, could be dope shows.
- 20:45Speaker 1: And the Bear turned into some mess in season three,
- 20:48Speaker 1: like it's insulting, I'm sorry, and even the TEENA episode,
- 20:51Speaker 1: it's like compared to Forks, which blows my mind. I
- 20:54Speaker 1: felt like the teen episode is just still like Okay,
- 20:57Speaker 1: you know, we know what we're doing now, so here's
- 21:00Speaker 1: the tricks, you know what I mean.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Cry, You know when it worked and you know, yeah,
- 21:06Speaker 2: and I get it.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Yeah, but the word and then you're comment about how
- 21:09Speaker 3: the Dragon case.
- 21:09Speaker 4: I actually have House of Dragon as a top and
- 21:11Speaker 4: I said, you know what he's fucking and put it
- 21:14Speaker 4: back down.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Men.
- 21:16Speaker 3: And because listen, I loved watching it.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I loved reviewing it, Tahoe and No Way that show
- 21:25Speaker 4: like I always had fun and everyone, you know, everyone
- 21:29Speaker 4: loves listening to us review House of Dragon.
- 21:31Speaker 3: I also was mad at the end, like that ending
- 21:35Speaker 3: was we had.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Video evidence of how mad we were.
- 21:38Speaker 3: I was just like, so that's what we're fucking doing tonight.
- 21:41Speaker 4: So anyway, I will not reduce what's the word when
- 21:46Speaker 4: you knock something down, you uh deep platform, I'm gonna
- 21:50Speaker 4: deep platform House of Dragon. Put it, I'm gonna nerve
- 21:52Speaker 4: it a little bit, put it down to honorable mention
- 21:56Speaker 4: because it's still housing the dragon. At the end of
- 21:58Speaker 4: the day, it's still gonna make it, uh make it's ratings.
- 22:02Speaker 1: But yeah, so yeah, straight up House of Dragon. I
- 22:04Speaker 1: mean honorable mentioned though, that's it.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Yeah, this is something that I put as a miss,
- 22:08Speaker 4: a big miss. I made a random category just earlier,
- 22:12Speaker 4: which was I missed it, but I want to watch
- 22:14Speaker 4: it because I don't know, it's the top thing for
- 22:16Speaker 4: twenty twenty four Are Kings? I just they said listen
- 22:23Speaker 4: every time, every time I even like get even close
- 22:27Speaker 4: to the word are king.
- 22:28Speaker 3: People, Oh my fucking people lose their goddamn mind.
- 22:30Speaker 4: And I'm just like, you know what, this is something
- 22:32Speaker 4: I have to explore because there's no way. For now
- 22:35Speaker 4: three seasons straight like people are like like.
- 22:38Speaker 3: This, and I think that's the same thing that and
- 22:40Speaker 3: it not be good.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah, And Genisia said it U TV queen and jay
- 22:46Speaker 1: I saw her posted about it and she said that
- 22:49Speaker 1: when am I going to start liking this? And then
- 22:52Speaker 1: she did, so it might be the same thing cause
- 22:54Speaker 1: the first episode I remember watching that first season. I
- 22:57Speaker 1: watched that the first two and I was like, arts beautiful,
- 22:59Speaker 1: airy thing, but I just had no emotional connection to anything.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I cared less. And everyone's writing about it. So I'm
- 23:05Speaker 1: gonna do what you do and I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 23:07Speaker 1: go back to it.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:08Speaker 2: So yeah, since we on shows, I think that's I
- 23:10Speaker 2: V honorable mentions for me.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Sorry, one more, one more for me. It's a movie.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Actually, Maana tu very good story. Once again, they know
- 23:17Speaker 4: how to fucking do a story. They know how to
- 23:19Speaker 4: fucking do animation. It's absolutely gorgeous if you are. And
- 23:23Speaker 4: that's and this is also a recommendation to go see it.
- 23:25Speaker 4: If y'all were thinking about it, go see it. It's
- 23:27Speaker 4: actually a really good, you know, rarely really good sequel.
- 23:32Speaker 4: That being said, it fell down a quote I don't
- 23:36Speaker 4: I don't know mention because the music sucks I for me.
- 23:42Speaker 4: For me, I just I didn't see it for her
- 23:45Speaker 4: this time around. And when I say her, I mean
- 23:47Speaker 4: that unless it was like more traditional music, like the
- 23:52Speaker 4: traditional music that they loop into the movie that's sung
- 23:55Speaker 4: by you know, someone native to that culture, the islands
- 23:58Speaker 4: or whatever like that stuff was beautiful, but like the
- 24:03Speaker 4: formulate Disney, here's you know, here's you know, the big
- 24:07Speaker 4: dance number, here's the big singing number, here's the big
- 24:09Speaker 4: sat number. Like those things I did not like. I
- 24:13Speaker 4: did not like, and they paled in comparison to the
- 24:16Speaker 4: first Milana. So that was my takeaway from one or two.
- 24:19Speaker 4: But it was still an enjoyable movie, and it became
- 24:22Speaker 4: a molemented for twenty twenty four for me.
- 24:24Speaker 2: All Right, well, just be back in our movies.
- 24:26Speaker 1: So I'm gonna do my best of the joints that
- 24:30Speaker 1: I saw this year.
- 24:31Speaker 2: They were my favorite movies.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I have just saying overall this year there's a lot
- 24:34Speaker 1: of like, I don't know, it just wasn't the year.
- 24:37Speaker 4: You know, didn't feel like the year, did it, you
- 24:39Speaker 4: know how there's some year that's been it's been busting
- 24:42Speaker 4: full of things.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Oh my god, like like r R.
- 24:47Speaker 1: R and Athena coming out in the same year was
- 24:50Speaker 1: one of them. Years before, I was like, yeah, that
- 24:52Speaker 1: was si.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Cinema is a lot that was sick.
- 24:56Speaker 1: This year it was like, Okay, cinema is still here.
- 24:59Speaker 1: You know, you know it's there, but I have to say.
- 25:02Speaker 1: And then the flup thing is two of these movies
- 25:05Speaker 1: on my list are actually not from this year, but
- 25:09Speaker 1: I first saw them this year or late last year
- 25:12Speaker 1: with one of them, and they were available to most
- 25:14Speaker 1: people this year because they became available on Netflix, which
- 25:18Speaker 1: is when pretty much most people see either of these.
- 25:21Speaker 1: They were very hard to see in theaters if you
- 25:23Speaker 1: even knew they existed at the time, and that is
- 25:26Speaker 1: Blue Giant and The First Slam Dunk, now both available
- 25:30Speaker 1: on Netflix. Also both will come up in my top
- 25:34Speaker 1: five anime, which we're doing so and a little commercial
- 25:37Speaker 1: for that right there. Just absolutely like when you talk
- 25:42Speaker 1: about cinema being alive, Blue Giant was one of them films.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Mellow Brown, my writing partner and my brother for life,
- 25:49Speaker 1: you know, was raving about this movie and the moment
- 25:52Speaker 1: he saw it. He's smart, so he got to see
- 25:54Speaker 1: in the theaters. I missed it, and he was just like, yo,
- 25:57Speaker 1: you have to see the swim. You have to see it. So,
- 25:59Speaker 1: you know, a little digital truck would roll by my
- 26:02Speaker 1: house and I grabbed it and it was just like, yo,
- 26:06Speaker 1: this is incredible. And it was so incredible that I
- 26:08Speaker 1: was like, all right, fuck the digital truck and I
- 26:10Speaker 1: went and copped it off of like Amazon or whatever.
- 26:13Speaker 2: You know.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I was like, okay, I gotta you know, yeah, I
- 26:16Speaker 1: had to make sure that these people got their funds
- 26:18Speaker 1: because it's that good. And then it came on Netflix
- 26:22Speaker 1: and I rewatched it again, and it's just it's one
- 26:26Speaker 1: of these things. But long story short, Blue Giant is
- 26:28Speaker 1: a film about three kids in Japan who form a
- 26:32Speaker 1: jazz band, and that's it. There's no magic, there's no mystery,
- 26:37Speaker 1: there's no monsters, there's no aliens.
- 26:39Speaker 2: There's none of that.
- 26:40Speaker 1: It's just three college aged kids who form a jazz
- 26:44Speaker 1: band and it's a it's one of the like when
- 26:48Speaker 1: I finished it, I immediately and out of Jimmy Hendricks
- 26:51Speaker 1: Purple hazes out I could say this. When I finished that,
- 26:54Speaker 1: I immediately called up Mellow and was like, Yo, did
- 26:56Speaker 1: we come close to that when he wrote this book?
- 27:00Speaker 1: Because that's how good it was at depicting music, at
- 27:03Speaker 1: depicting ones love for music, at the depicting the dedication
- 27:06Speaker 1: that it takes, you know, to put into music, at
- 27:10Speaker 1: the depicting how the love and dedication are intertwined. There
- 27:15Speaker 1: are so many moments in this movie and then the
- 27:18Speaker 1: animation like it's just gorgeous, you know, when they're.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Depicting everyday life, but then.
- 27:23Speaker 1: When they start playing music, it's fucking incredible the way
- 27:28Speaker 1: they show it. And I'm a big fan of showing
- 27:30Speaker 1: music through you know, visual means and how you.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Do it, and they murder it. I'm I'm getting chills.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I might have to be watching tonight.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Okay, I'll give it a shot.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Oh my god, I can't be ever seeing it. You have,
- 27:42Speaker 1: like you talk how you have to see this movie.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Everyone out there how you feel like.
- 27:47Speaker 3: When you kept telling me to watch Athena.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yes, it's the same thing. It's the exact same thing.
- 27:51Speaker 1: It's and it's even better because Athena well Thena is
- 27:53Speaker 1: super inspiring.
- 27:55Speaker 2: The Blue Giant. Yeah, I fucking love Penu to this day.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Oh my god, I was in dr watching like we
- 28:01Speaker 1: were in dr with my boys, you know, chilling, you know,
- 28:04Speaker 1: and I'm like, y'all, niggas ain't seen Athena right now,
- 28:10Speaker 1: you know what I mean, roll up pour some dreams,
- 28:14Speaker 1: fellers be watching Athena right now.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Could you imagine you guys, you're going on vacation with
- 28:18Speaker 4: DJ Ben, I mean, and he's like, oh, you ain't
- 28:21Speaker 4: seen Athena.
- 28:22Speaker 3: You ain't going fucking nowhere until.
- 28:24Speaker 2: You watch this.
- 28:24Speaker 1: It's either that, I mean, we're gonna hit the club later,
- 28:26Speaker 1: but first we're gonna watch Athena because it's either or
- 28:28Speaker 1: watch some rat battles.
- 28:29Speaker 2: You know, that's another thing we were watching.
- 28:30Speaker 1: So, you know, no, Athena and then the other one again,
- 28:34Speaker 1: Mellow Brown put me onto this and it's also on Netflix.
- 28:36Speaker 1: It's the first Slam Dunk and the first name Dunk
- 28:39Speaker 1: is another animation movie and long story short. Again, It's
- 28:44Speaker 1: one of the illest sports films I've ever seen, and
- 28:47Speaker 1: the concept is so crazy because the whole film takes
- 28:51Speaker 1: place within one game, and within this one game through
- 28:55Speaker 1: flashbacks and a bit of flash forwards, but mainly just
- 28:57Speaker 1: flashbacks and stuff you learned about every person involved in
- 29:01Speaker 1: the game, from opposing to this team, and if only
- 29:04Speaker 1: things when I'm sitting there watching it, you know, from
- 29:06Speaker 1: the opposing team to this team, I mean, to the.
- 29:09Speaker 2: I don't know, you know, both teams basically.
- 29:12Speaker 1: But when I'm sitting there watching it, I'm like, Okay,
- 29:14Speaker 1: the team that we're loving, you know, the protagonist. They're
- 29:17Speaker 1: about to lose this game. You know, they'll go back,
- 29:20Speaker 1: they'll train, they'll come back. Maybe during the season finale,
- 29:24Speaker 1: during the championship, you know, they might get far and
- 29:26Speaker 1: you know, lose the final game, or maybe they win
- 29:28Speaker 1: the final game. And then about halfway through it, I'm like,
- 29:31Speaker 1: wait a minute, this is still the same goddamn game.
- 29:34Speaker 1: This is ain't gonna be no other game like this
- 29:36Speaker 1: could be the whole movie in this one game.
- 29:39Speaker 2: And so then I finished it. I'm like, oh that
- 29:41Speaker 2: was good. And I woke up the next morning I'm like, yo,
- 29:43Speaker 2: what the fuck? That was crazy. That's like one of
- 29:46Speaker 2: the otherest concepts ever.
- 29:49Speaker 1: And then how they delivered on all these characters, and
- 29:52Speaker 1: then the animation is crazy and it's shows. You know,
- 29:54Speaker 1: it's like a lot of it's based off the Chicago Bulls,
- 29:57Speaker 1: of the classic Chicago Bulls, but it's like a chap
- 30:00Speaker 1: these version of them.
- 30:01Speaker 2: It's a famous manga. It was a famous series. And
- 30:03Speaker 2: then the movie.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Came out in twenty twenty two, but it finally made
- 30:06Speaker 1: it to Netflix this year, and it is first time I.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Know about the manga, the Slam Dunk Mango Okay.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that those two are like those are the ones.
- 30:17Speaker 1: But like I say, Blue Giant is the one that
- 30:20Speaker 1: I will scream about, you know, the first time. I'm like, Okay,
- 30:22Speaker 1: you gotta see. This is a goodass movie, you know.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Blue Giant is like, No, this is like something that
- 30:26Speaker 1: anyone who loves music, anyone who loves or anyone who
- 30:29Speaker 1: just loves life. Man, it's like one of the ones
- 30:31Speaker 1: you gotta see because it's it'll it messes you up, yeah, man,
- 30:37Speaker 1: because as everybody, yeah, because it's about like you know,
- 30:41Speaker 1: it's and it was one of the films.
- 30:43Speaker 2: It's like I called mellow up again, and both him
- 30:45Speaker 2: and I.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I was like, man, it was cool up until this
- 30:48Speaker 1: point and I'm not gonna say anything else. And he
- 30:51Speaker 1: was like, yo, same brother, because it was at that
- 30:54Speaker 1: point where to me, it really shows you. It's just
- 30:57Speaker 1: this quick flashback to it fucks you up about music,
- 31:02Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It shows you how music
- 31:03Speaker 1: can relate to anything you love in life, you know,
- 31:06Speaker 1: And that's why and it and it shows you out
- 31:07Speaker 1: even people, because that's why I got me because even
- 31:10Speaker 1: as I'm a DJ, if you don't know me for
- 31:12Speaker 1: if you know me from childhood, you notice I grew
- 31:14Speaker 1: up like a non rhythmic dude. I was not the
- 31:17Speaker 1: person you would think would ever become a DJ or
- 31:19Speaker 1: have anything.
- 31:19Speaker 2: To do with music.
- 31:20Speaker 3: It's clapping on the ones in the threes.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I damn sure was if that I was really clapping
- 31:24Speaker 1: on some like in between everything point.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Five and six point two.
- 31:29Speaker 2: There you go. It was all bad. Dog.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I remember when to keep a beat. It was like yo,
- 31:35Speaker 1: it was so bad. And but then it was through
- 31:38Speaker 1: that dedication and the love that I became more I
- 31:40Speaker 1: am now where you know I funxed it up, so
- 31:44Speaker 1: you know, it just shows you anyone could do it,
- 31:45Speaker 1: and that's what this movie shows you.
- 31:47Speaker 3: And oh my god, I'm watching What's Ruby Rich?
- 31:51Speaker 1: Ruby Rich is another Netflix? Netflix is not the only ones.
- 31:53Speaker 1: And this why this is more honorable mention. It's just
- 31:56Speaker 1: a good ass action flick with the black dude who
- 31:59Speaker 1: is to be playing?
- 32:01Speaker 3: Oh right, that's rub really.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I really enjoyed it. I wasn't blown away by
- 32:07Speaker 1: it or anything like that, but I did enjoy it.
- 32:09Speaker 1: And I really enjoyed it one because he doesn't really
- 32:12Speaker 1: use guns. He doesn't shoot anybody, but he gets the
- 32:15Speaker 1: job done and it's some solid action in that.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 4: And that was the word I was looking for earlier demote.
- 32:21Speaker 4: So you took it off your top lest.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like you did. I probably put that
- 32:24Speaker 2: more on. It's just I was searching, you know. I
- 32:28Speaker 2: was like, damn.
- 32:29Speaker 1: And then I even looked up this list of the
- 32:31Speaker 1: top movies of the year, so it was like twenty
- 32:33Speaker 1: five and I've not seen I had not seen twenty
- 32:37Speaker 1: I didn't even get to the top. And then they
- 32:39Speaker 1: had one joint on there, and I was like, nigga, please,
- 32:41Speaker 1: I can't remember what it was. But I was like,
- 32:43Speaker 1: ain't no way this is top anything, because I've seen
- 32:44Speaker 1: this and this movie ain't top nothing.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, very subjective list my movie lists for top
- 32:51Speaker 4: twenty twenty four.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Obviously Wicked, Wicked, Oh shit, I got to see it. Okay.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Whether you like musical or not, you just like good
- 33:04Speaker 4: work in film. This is the fucking movie, okay. And
- 33:07Speaker 4: then of course on top of that, yes, it's the music,
- 33:09Speaker 4: and on top of that, yes, you have the voices
- 33:13Speaker 4: of Cynthia Rivo and and Ariana Grande and couldn't chose
- 33:17Speaker 4: anybody better, like literally ten out of ten no notes,
- 33:22Speaker 4: twenty out of ten no notes. It's and I won't
- 33:25Speaker 4: say too much since you didn't see it yet, but
- 33:27Speaker 4: and I don't know if you ever saw the Broadway
- 33:28Speaker 4: show way back like when the Dina Menzel was playing
- 33:33Speaker 4: The Green with the Wicked, which I did see it
- 33:37Speaker 4: when it was there, and it was so long ago,
- 33:39Speaker 4: I don't remember everything that happened in the whole story.
- 33:42Speaker 4: But like, even just just watching this, I was just like,
- 33:46Speaker 4: holy fun, like instant classic. Quite literally, it's believe the hype.
- 33:50Speaker 4: This is one of the few. This is one of
- 33:52Speaker 4: the ones where you're just like, damn, why you know
- 33:55Speaker 4: weeks later you still can't get a seat because believe
- 33:57Speaker 4: the hype this shit is.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Okay, I'm up into Yes, I want to see it,
- 34:02Speaker 2: but I also want to see.
- 34:02Speaker 1: The rowar Heen a joint the oh yeah, yeah, And
- 34:07Speaker 1: I know that's probably gonna be a theater in the week,
- 34:09Speaker 1: so that first, yeah, I'm probably gonna go see that
- 34:12Speaker 1: like this weekend.
- 34:13Speaker 4: And then you might have to do a two two
- 34:16Speaker 4: for this weekend or something because you want to see
- 34:19Speaker 4: because I don't you know, they still pull movies even
- 34:21Speaker 4: if it's doing good.
- 34:22Speaker 1: No holiday week next week, and I'm gonna be a
- 34:24Speaker 1: fan this week, so I'm keep for Christmas.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll go peeple that week were fan? Okay, I
- 34:28Speaker 2: don't think they've all seen it.
- 34:29Speaker 3: They just do it, do it, do it quick? And also,
- 34:32Speaker 3: how do you recommend watching it on a biggert screen?
- 34:34Speaker 4: You can this is an imax. This isn't a Wicked
- 34:36Speaker 4: as an imax. Okay, another top movie of the year
- 34:39Speaker 4: for me. Inside Out too, I'm a huge oh my god,
- 34:43Speaker 4: I'm a huge inside Out fan in general too. Inside
- 34:45Speaker 4: I to continue to carry the legacy again, another rare
- 34:49Speaker 4: sequel that did what it had to, you know, did
- 34:52Speaker 4: what needed.
- 34:52Speaker 3: To be done.
- 34:55Speaker 4: Twenty out of twenty no noes once again. Just emotional,
- 35:00Speaker 4: not trigger. I don't say trigen, but emotional. It grabs
- 35:02Speaker 4: you immediately and it's just beautiful work.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I saw Anxiety make uh yeah. Google has oh nice. Yeah.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Google has a really great commercial for Ending of the
- 35:15Speaker 1: Year about breakout things and one of them was her
- 35:20Speaker 1: character Anxiety.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Honestly breakout characters, from the returning characters to the new
- 35:27Speaker 4: ones they introduced, like on we like all that, No,
- 35:30Speaker 4: all this ship was fant fantastic, fantastic please.
- 35:34Speaker 2: And it's on Disney Plus now right plus it's.
- 35:37Speaker 3: On Disney Plus so you can watch it at anything point.
- 35:40Speaker 2: I've been watching Skelton Crew. I'll give that an honor moment.
- 35:44Speaker 4: I kind of figured why it wasn't it on your list,
- 35:46Speaker 4: but I put it on my list FORIOSA.
- 35:49Speaker 2: That meant to be on there? Definitely is that meant
- 35:51Speaker 2: to me? There?
- 35:51Speaker 3: Okay? I was just like that was there something normal?
- 35:55Speaker 2: I'm just waiting for you to mention your customers.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Okay, perfect, It's top that again.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Mad Max legacy through and through and the ship that
- 36:03Speaker 4: they were doing the practical effects, Like, yes, that there
- 36:07Speaker 4: was a lot of CG but there was there was
- 36:09Speaker 4: a lot more than the original Mad But when I
- 36:12Speaker 4: said the original Max, I was talking about Tom Hardy,
- 36:15Speaker 4: but I'm not talking about the original original but anyway,
- 36:18Speaker 4: but the but there was a lot of practical effects
- 36:20Speaker 4: too that I was like, holy fuck, who thought of that?
- 36:24Speaker 3: Like Hellscape wild ship?
- 36:28Speaker 4: You know, like do de Militia, Derby meets wild Rocky
- 36:31Speaker 4: Race meets all this wild.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Like it was.
- 36:34Speaker 4: It was just the wildest shit I've ever seen on film,
- 36:37Speaker 4: and it carried a torch very well. And it was
- 36:41Speaker 4: about Furiosa, who's also a phase in the series.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I haven't rewatched it yet and I need to.
- 36:48Speaker 1: And that's probably why I didn't like immediately throw it
- 36:50Speaker 1: on this because it's like every time I warn rewatch it,
- 36:53Speaker 1: I'm like, the parts of it I just don't care about.
- 36:55Speaker 1: You know, I'll get to this eventually, but I will
- 36:57Speaker 1: have to say this again in the theater when we
- 36:59Speaker 1: were worn watching it, I'm you know, it's moments that
- 37:02Speaker 1: I'll never forget in life, and there's a moment in
- 37:04Speaker 1: this movie I won't spoil the first you've seen it.
- 37:06Speaker 1: But at the moment I said, get the fuck out
- 37:08Speaker 1: of same loud as hell, everybody around me started laughing.
- 37:13Speaker 5: And I just it was just like this is amazing,
- 37:16Speaker 5: you know, like I can't believe it, Like y'all just
- 37:21Speaker 5: raised the bar because it's just one second where they
- 37:23Speaker 5: keep raising the bar, keep raising the bar, and then
- 37:25Speaker 5: it's like, get the fuck yeah.
- 37:30Speaker 4: And then I also for for comedy reasons and hilarity ensues,
- 37:35Speaker 4: and also because I enjoy the film Doone Too, but
- 37:37Speaker 4: specifically Doom.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Too and forty X.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Oh god, fuck you.
- 37:42Speaker 3: If y'all don't know what forty X is.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Uh, the regal theaters have certain regal theaters and they
- 37:46Speaker 4: have the largest one in the world is in Times
- 37:48Speaker 4: Square and that's where that's actually the reason why we
- 37:50Speaker 4: were invited to the opening of the largest forty X
- 37:53Speaker 4: theater in the world for Doom two.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Okay, see last week you didn mentioned the flash because
- 37:59Speaker 1: you know it. You went to traumatize me by bringing.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Back yo forty X. Like I said, if y'all don't
- 38:06Speaker 3: know what that is, you know how they say three.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Ds, you could you know, stuff is jumping at you know,
- 38:10Speaker 4: forty throws in environmental damage, amongst other things to your body. Okay,
- 38:16Speaker 4: so if there's water on a screen, missed on the screen,
- 38:18Speaker 4: you get missed in your face. This rain or snowfalling,
- 38:22Speaker 4: it's falling in the theater, you know, uh, wind, water, heart,
- 38:26Speaker 4: all that shit. The fucking seats bruh, The fucking seats
- 38:30Speaker 4: are moving.
- 38:31Speaker 3: They're moving, Okay.
- 38:33Speaker 4: And when I say moving, I don't mean this little
- 38:34Speaker 4: bullshit I'm doing on screen. Shout out to everybody watching
- 38:36Speaker 4: on YouTube and twitch right now. I'm talking about you
- 38:39Speaker 4: are on a goddamn roller coaster, just with your popcorn
- 38:42Speaker 4: boat like oh shit like, and there are actuators in
- 38:47Speaker 4: the seat.
- 38:47Speaker 3: And by that I mean if there's some type.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Of I don't know, if someone's maybe fighting on screen
- 38:53Speaker 4: and they're getting punched in the kidney or you know, punched.
- 38:55Speaker 3: In the chest, you feel that they say, oh you
- 38:58Speaker 3: hit a little punch to the side and.
- 38:59Speaker 2: A punch shot in the head. People getting shot bot
- 39:03Speaker 2: in the.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Back of your head.
- 39:05Speaker 4: When I say it was the most fucked up fun
- 39:08Speaker 4: experience because by the end we were sore. They was
- 39:12Speaker 4: punching us in the seat, they was throwing us around
- 39:15Speaker 4: when the fucking worms was coming and the whole goddamn
- 39:18Speaker 4: thing was rumbling, and they was the programmers was was
- 39:23Speaker 4: was on A doing a big one. Oh d the
- 39:26Speaker 4: chair programmers was was O d on a big one.
- 39:29Speaker 4: And it was even more funny because Chic go Leo
- 39:31Speaker 4: was also there and all I kept hearing was what like?
- 39:34Speaker 4: I just kept hearing him just go off and Ben
- 39:36Speaker 4: sitting there like like laughing, dying, and I'm like, what's happening?
- 39:40Speaker 2: It was.
- 39:41Speaker 4: It was the most fun fucking experience, and I, like
- 39:43Speaker 4: I said, I did like generally, I liked Dune two anyway.
- 39:47Speaker 2: I liked it better than the first, So no, no,
- 39:51Speaker 2: I loved the first Dune.
- 39:54Speaker 1: I thought Dune two was good, but that experience really
- 39:58Speaker 1: ruined it for me, and I that's one I have
- 40:00Speaker 1: to rewatch. But I've been so traumatized. Literally, I was
- 40:04Speaker 1: on Instagram the other day and there's a post about
- 40:07Speaker 1: the scene that I'm talking about when snipering takes place,
- 40:10Speaker 1: and it wasn't even showing the sniping.
- 40:12Speaker 2: It was showing it was showing the dudes flying with
- 40:15Speaker 2: jet packs.
- 40:16Speaker 1: And I immediately got flashbats and I know in that
- 40:19Speaker 1: scene they fly with jet pats and then the snipering starts,
- 40:22Speaker 1: and I'm sorry, there's the scene.
- 40:24Speaker 4: And if y'all didn't see the movie yet, I don't
- 40:26Speaker 4: know what to tell you. But there's a scene where
- 40:28Speaker 4: there's some bodies falling.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Yeah, first they get shot and then their bodies fall
- 40:33Speaker 2: to the ground.
- 40:33Speaker 1: And with every shot to the head, every thud, it
- 40:36Speaker 1: would thud you in the back of the head, so
- 40:38Speaker 1: two thuds per body, and there was several bodies within
- 40:42Speaker 1: a short time after that, I pretty much checked out
- 40:45Speaker 1: of that film. I was laughing at Chico and certain
- 40:50Speaker 1: other moments, and I enjoyed it, but I was so traumatized.
- 40:53Speaker 4: It is traumatizing, Like if you really want to pay
- 40:55Speaker 4: attention to the movie, don't go. If you just want
- 40:58Speaker 4: to have fucking fun going forty yet, it's literally they
- 41:00Speaker 4: try to combine the thrill of a roller coaster to
- 41:03Speaker 4: with a film, and obviously, the more action heavy the film,
- 41:07Speaker 4: the worst is gonna be for your body good.
- 41:09Speaker 2: And I enjoyed Firiosa in forty h but I hated.
- 41:13Speaker 4: Dune in it We saw, we saw, Yes, Yes, Yes
- 41:16Speaker 4: d d A. D DA says they need to have
- 41:19Speaker 4: a release a sign before you enter the theater. They
- 41:21Speaker 4: didn't technically, So here's the technicality. You don't physically sign anything,
- 41:25Speaker 4: but by purchasing a ticket for forty x there is
- 41:28Speaker 4: very very very very very fine print that says you
- 41:31Speaker 4: agree to the risk and that you know what it
- 41:34Speaker 4: is and you can't sue them and all this other stuff.
- 41:36Speaker 2: So yeah, there, it's a good movie, yeah, Dune, good movie.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Yeah whatever. I have not been able to get into
- 41:44Speaker 2: the show either, like I tried with the new show.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Oh about the Benett Jesuit.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know that's my favorite people, but like
- 41:53Speaker 1: spoiler alert, in the first five minutes they murked the
- 41:57Speaker 1: black woman I'm watching.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I'm sitting there watching like, oh, I didn't know this
- 42:01Speaker 2: black woman was in it. Oh that's why I didn't know.
- 42:04Speaker 2: You know.
- 42:04Speaker 1: It's literally like that, like, you know, because in all
- 42:07Speaker 1: the previews she's not in it, And so when I'm
- 42:10Speaker 1: watching it, I'm like, oh, I didn't know this black
- 42:12Speaker 1: woman was in it. And then oh, that's fine, you know,
- 42:14Speaker 1: and so I turned it off like ten minutes after that.
- 42:17Speaker 1: I was just like I was like, ah, you know,
- 42:19Speaker 1: maybe another time someone else can have to tell me
- 42:21Speaker 1: this's the best show ever, I haven't heard that anyway. Yeah,
- 42:24Speaker 1: I haven't heard anything about it, So I'm gonna keep moving.
- 42:27Speaker 1: That's its honorable mention onto shows. Since you know we
- 42:31Speaker 1: were talking shows TV right there. You already know X
- 42:35Speaker 1: Men ninety seven. I ain't got to say nothing else.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Go watch all of our reviews, you know, simply put
- 42:41Speaker 1: cinema on spreen, you know, fantastic power. The final season
- 42:47Speaker 1: of Ghost Book two, I guess you know, I don't know.
- 42:50Speaker 1: It's all power to me. I can't say that this
- 42:53Speaker 1: was the best season, you know, as it was the
- 42:56Speaker 1: final season, but just overall for the entertainment, the two
- 43:00Speaker 1: Reek and Braiden and the rest of these incompoots that
- 43:03Speaker 1: brought to me over the years, you know, top notch.
- 43:06Speaker 1: You know, like shout out to everybody involved with Power
- 43:09Speaker 1: from top to bottom.
- 43:11Speaker 2: You know, y'all.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Continue to put in work. Ten years of this tomfoolery
- 43:16Speaker 1: and I can't get enough of it, Like I love
- 43:18Speaker 1: that ship. And the funny thing is, I see so
- 43:22Speaker 1: many shows that have adapted the power like method of storytelling.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Something else I peeped this year that is actually this
- 43:31Speaker 1: year of Morris chessamat what's the joint the.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Lawyer show Reasonable Doubt. Yes, yeah, I'll give that an honorable.
- 43:40Speaker 1: For power with lawyers like it is it is the
- 43:44Speaker 1: logic of power extended and it's it's power is a
- 43:47Speaker 1: bigger budget because their music budget was bigger and it's insane.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it didn't help them because it was.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Or so stupid.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Sid Yeah, put electric Relaxation a song about tucking because
- 44:01Speaker 1: it's electric relaxation and the title when you're telling somebody to.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Relax, you don't do that.
- 44:05Speaker 4: But that's why I mean when I say, oh, those
- 44:07Speaker 4: like it was literally like someone would say the word
- 44:08Speaker 4: and then the song with the word, and.
- 44:12Speaker 2: My guys, it was bad, really bad. The music supervisor
- 44:15Speaker 2: was hot mess.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Which and it's like fucked up because that also is
- 44:19Speaker 4: the person who worked the magic to get like the
- 44:22Speaker 4: Reasonable Doubt has a crazy reach with the music also
- 44:24Speaker 4: because of Field, so.
- 44:26Speaker 3: They can literally they literally got any songt like song
- 44:28Speaker 3: that do not be on TV.
- 44:30Speaker 2: It can't be his fault, his fault.
- 44:32Speaker 4: I'm just saying he helps them get the clearances as
- 44:34Speaker 4: well as other people.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Well he shouldn't.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Who made the decision, who made the decision of what.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Specific song they need?
- 44:40Speaker 1: You need see that's been like less is more, you
- 44:42Speaker 1: need more restrictions so that way you have to figure
- 44:45Speaker 1: things out. But anyway, yeah, reasonableout honorble Mitchell. Uh Power,
- 44:49Speaker 1: Abvid Elementary came that strong this year. I've been loving it.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I thought, you know, I thought last season, I think
- 44:54Speaker 1: it was kind of like not as good as it happened.
- 44:57Speaker 1: But you know, Abage is one of the greatest shows
- 44:59Speaker 1: of all time, and I happy to see that it's
- 45:00Speaker 1: you know, like.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Regained me, you know, the right.
- 45:03Speaker 1: The actors are always phenomenal, everything about the trust phenomenal.
- 45:07Speaker 3: I kept I'll keep put at it to my honorable mention.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I just always want I've always wanted to pick
- 45:12Speaker 1: it up because I just feel like it's one of
- 45:13Speaker 1: those shows that there's just not nearly enough things like
- 45:16Speaker 1: that in existence. So it gets to my you know,
- 45:19Speaker 1: top show because there's so many like you know, darkness.
- 45:23Speaker 3: Darkness, you know, darkness is coming, and.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I'm just not a darkness person. You know what I'm
- 45:27Speaker 1: saying about this. Uh, it's really sad how bad like
- 45:32Speaker 1: sci fi has gotten that in Usher's live show, his
- 45:36Speaker 1: vision of the future is a dystopia.
- 45:39Speaker 2: You know what I mean. That's why I did.
- 45:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that's another thing.
- 45:42Speaker 2: That's that's I saw that.
- 45:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I keeped that storyline.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I was like, oh yeah, because like you know, back
- 45:47Speaker 1: in the day, Michael Jackson and Captain EO, you know
- 45:49Speaker 1: what I mean, which is basically Star Trek and now
- 45:52Speaker 1: this nigga's doing dystopia, you know, because that's all anybody
- 45:55Speaker 1: thinks about it, somebody thinking about right now. Yeah, but
- 45:57Speaker 1: that's that's sci fi, you know that. That's so we've
- 46:00Speaker 1: got to really do and that's what I really want
- 46:02Speaker 1: to talk about. But that's all Another thing. Shout out
- 46:04Speaker 1: to Stavenger's Rain, which got canceled, just goddamn, absolutely beautiful animation.
- 46:10Speaker 1: I haven't finished it because that show was too weird
- 46:13Speaker 1: for me, Like, oh my god, it's so weird, but
- 46:15Speaker 1: it's so good. It's just like it's like one of
- 46:18Speaker 1: the weird things that gives me weird dreams where it's like,
- 46:20Speaker 1: you know, I can't, I gotta.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Do it in doses.
- 46:23Speaker 4: I'm gonna fly through my TV because it's just shorter.
- 46:28Speaker 4: Agathought all along was in my TV? Have you mentioned
- 46:30Speaker 4: Jamie Jamie Fox?
- 46:31Speaker 3: Will Happened?
- 46:32Speaker 2: Was Anthony Chessel nets.
- 46:37Speaker 4: Jamie Fox is so one of the last standing when
- 46:41Speaker 4: it comes to multi talented people who can act, sing, dance,
- 46:44Speaker 4: all that ship like. And then he's funny as fuck
- 46:47Speaker 4: and one of the few comedians that I've liked from
- 46:49Speaker 4: the past that is still funny, because there's very feel
- 46:53Speaker 4: that I still find funny.
- 46:54Speaker 1: I'm just like, right, catch agent? Did ever say about
- 46:58Speaker 1: the time I catch and he hosted? Really, oh yeah,
- 47:02Speaker 1: Essence Festival? This is before Ray even, you know, it's
- 47:07Speaker 1: actual the year in the Club came out because In
- 47:10Speaker 1: the Club was the song of the night and it
- 47:12Speaker 1: was going crazy. And this was like right before Ray
- 47:15Speaker 1: and this, you know, right before Gold Digger, and so
- 47:18Speaker 1: Jamie was pretty much in the middle of just you know,
- 47:19Speaker 1: doing nothing, and I was like, this niggas and you know,
- 47:23Speaker 1: I've seen him on shows and stuff, seeing him live
- 47:28Speaker 1: and hosting a party as a real special talent, I
- 47:31Speaker 1: was like, Oh, this nigga's gonna be paid forever, you know.
- 47:33Speaker 1: That was that was my thought at the end of
- 47:35Speaker 1: the night. That's that's all I knew. I was like,
- 47:38Speaker 1: I don't know what this niggas don't do in life.
- 47:40Speaker 1: And like I said, he turned around to Ray the
- 47:42Speaker 1: gold digger, you don't put out albums all that, but
- 47:44Speaker 1: it was like, yo, he was just ultra talented. Like
- 47:48Speaker 1: I remember so many moments I don't want to go
- 47:50Speaker 1: into right now, but you know, it was like watching
- 47:52Speaker 1: a comedy show while I'm DJing.
- 47:54Speaker 2: It was insane, how good to do this?
- 47:56Speaker 1: And he fucking it was the first time I've ever
- 47:58Speaker 1: seen a bottle patron and that man took it to
- 48:01Speaker 1: the face AO like like I'd never seen someone dog
- 48:06Speaker 1: all night that square bottle.
- 48:08Speaker 2: Just what is this square bottle? This man is? And
- 48:14Speaker 2: when I find out his fucking tequila and he's.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Over there, please with the sound effect, I can't it
- 48:20Speaker 3: was bad. I can't. Also running out my top.
- 48:23Speaker 4: TV lioness, Obsessed with the military industrial complex, obsessed with
- 48:30Speaker 4: how grimy the US is to itself, obsessed with how
- 48:35Speaker 4: every fucking agency in this country hates each other and
- 48:40Speaker 4: undermines each other. And you would think they like, it's
- 48:43Speaker 4: like the worst Game of Spades, just with guns and
- 48:47Speaker 4: bombs and U A V.
- 48:48Speaker 3: U A V So it's it's it's it's so good.
- 48:52Speaker 3: It's so good.
- 48:53Speaker 4: How like, honestly, at the end of the day, nobody
- 48:55Speaker 4: is really good, Like I'm sure you're gonna have your
- 48:58Speaker 4: favorites and you're gonna root for certain People's always how
- 49:00Speaker 4: down to be in one of them because she's like
- 49:01Speaker 4: the main but the ship that they be doing, including her,
- 49:05Speaker 4: it's just like all of y'all is fucked up, like
- 49:08Speaker 4: and you know, and it's justified in many different ways,
- 49:10Speaker 4: but like they don't shy away from how ugly and
- 49:13Speaker 4: fucked up shit is.
- 49:13Speaker 3: But it's just too good. It's it's too good.
- 49:17Speaker 4: I recommended Lyoness and then finally X Men ninety seven.
- 49:21Speaker 4: It was funny that you, I think, I don't know
- 49:23Speaker 4: if it was accent or whatever. This was so left
- 49:25Speaker 4: on the show run from last week, but I was like, no,
- 49:28Speaker 4: that's perfect because that's top fucking TV. Like in the story,
- 49:33Speaker 4: nothing beats that. One of the things if you don't
- 49:35Speaker 4: mind me just jumping in this category that I realized
- 49:37Speaker 4: I wanted to put on his music. So yeah, and
- 49:42Speaker 4: I'm only gonna name I'm gonna name albums and artists specifically,
- 49:45Speaker 4: but my top one number one across anybody, if I'm
- 49:48Speaker 4: gonna I'm gonna rank this one specifically is Alligator Bites,
- 49:51Speaker 4: Never Hills, Doci.
- 49:53Speaker 2: I still got to really listen to that, like I
- 49:55Speaker 2: want to.
- 49:56Speaker 4: I don't want to take your time, time, Doc. Nobody's
- 50:01Speaker 4: fucking touching Doci. Nobody is fucking touching her creatively, nobody's
- 50:06Speaker 4: touching her lyrically, stylistically, everything black, girly, like, come on,
- 50:15Speaker 4: she's giving it.
- 50:16Speaker 2: DJ, Miss Milan is her DJ. Shout out to her, Yes,
- 50:19Speaker 2: love Miss Milan.
- 50:20Speaker 4: Yes. I enjoyed Lotto's Sugar Honey Iced Tea. I thought
- 50:25Speaker 4: it was a great like debut entry for her, and
- 50:28Speaker 4: like every song on there was solid. Granted you could
- 50:30Speaker 4: tell that she was coached the whole way by Drake,
- 50:32Speaker 4: but still it was.
- 50:34Speaker 3: It was so solid. I also, it's actually it's actually
- 50:40Speaker 3: pretty good. It's actually pretty good.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Glorious by Glrilla. Again, another fantastic strong entry. Low Everything
- 50:48Speaker 4: on that album, even things you don't think makes them,
- 50:49Speaker 4: Like she has a straight up gospel song, like straight
- 50:52Speaker 4: up and down with like Kirk Franklin some other people.
- 50:55Speaker 4: Excuse me, people of God, they're that well, okay, yeah,
- 51:00Speaker 4: could you imagine that talking to somebody in the good
- 51:04Speaker 4: Guy Gloria Phenom, the fucking no Chromacopia, Tyler, the goddamn
- 51:12Speaker 4: Creator if you not.
- 51:15Speaker 3: If you if Tyler is not in your frame.
- 51:19Speaker 4: Of mind when it comes to music in like at
- 51:20Speaker 4: least the last ten years, what the fuck are you doing?
- 51:24Speaker 4: That's all I got to say about that. And it's
- 51:29Speaker 4: still just because And this is mainly just because it's
- 51:31Speaker 4: the most recent. I would say Kendrick Lamar's gn X
- 51:36Speaker 4: is it his best Kenda Lamar album ever? No, probably not,
- 51:40Speaker 4: But it's just something that I fucking run all the time,
- 51:44Speaker 4: every day, day and night.
- 51:45Speaker 2: It's a it's a great album for what it was
- 51:48Speaker 2: meant to be. It's a alight slappers.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I would definitely say all those, especially Doci obviously, who
- 51:54Speaker 1: I just think is a phenomenal talent and just needs
- 51:57Speaker 1: to be recognized as one of the ones. Also Tyler,
- 52:00Speaker 1: even though I do not think Homocopia, you know, I
- 52:02Speaker 1: gotta go back and listen to it more. It's not
- 52:05Speaker 1: call me when you get lost or the Estate Sale
- 52:08Speaker 1: or Ego to me just yet.
- 52:10Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean, but that's the problem.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's insane.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I get it, I get it, I do. But
- 52:20Speaker 2: so is Ego and so is the Estate.
- 52:21Speaker 4: Storg's my favorite Tyler album.
- 52:24Speaker 3: I have to say that.
- 52:26Speaker 1: It's a toss between that and really I've been getting into,
- 52:29Speaker 1: like I keep saying, this state sale, not just the whole,
- 52:32Speaker 1: not the extended version of Call Me when you Get Lost,
- 52:35Speaker 1: because Mellow once again was putting onto me the deepness
- 52:38Speaker 1: of that ship and how it's even like drama plays
- 52:42Speaker 1: a part in like the whole album. It's Tyler's fucking crazy,
- 52:46Speaker 1: you know. Tyler is like what everyone you know puts about,
- 52:50Speaker 1: like Kendred Drake, it's Tyler to me, you know it
- 52:53Speaker 1: is Tyler is like he is.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Like my boy said it to me the other day.
- 52:57Speaker 1: He was like, if he talking about when we were
- 52:58Speaker 1: growing up, he would have been like a Michael Jackson,
- 53:00Speaker 1: a Prince type nigga, you know, even one of them
- 53:03Speaker 1: once and I was like I can't argue with you there.
- 53:06Speaker 2: You know, like this dude is taking his.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Daughter to see Tyler and this be her first concert,
- 53:10Speaker 1: and you know she's so hype about it, and he's
- 53:13Speaker 1: hype because you know, she made him into a big fan,
- 53:16Speaker 1: like my other best friend drew me, same thing his
- 53:19Speaker 1: daughter made him.
- 53:19Speaker 2: And because he was like I didn't get.
- 53:21Speaker 3: Tyler, I was like, no, and this get Tyler fast,
- 53:25Speaker 3: because yeah.
- 53:25Speaker 2: He got Tyler.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I grew up like I grew up when I was
- 53:30Speaker 1: just when I just came home from jay'all was first blogging.
- 53:33Speaker 2: I saw the fucking video you know, a.
- 53:40Speaker 1: Gang and I was living at my boy's house, sleeping
- 53:43Speaker 1: on his couch and he came home, DJ analyzed, and
- 53:46Speaker 1: I was.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Like, Yo, nigga, watch this.
- 53:49Speaker 1: You know, like this dude right here, And you know,
- 53:53Speaker 1: I already knew from I knew from that first time
- 53:55Speaker 1: I heard him rap that he was gonna be one
- 53:56Speaker 1: of the ones. I didn't realize how much you would be,
- 53:58Speaker 1: but he is that one. So yeah, definitely Tyler. Also
- 54:03Speaker 1: music that I have to shout out Schoolboy Q. Yeah,
- 54:07Speaker 1: Blue Lips Lips, thank God for Me is my song
- 54:11Speaker 1: of the year and one of my songs in a decade.
- 54:13Speaker 1: It's one of my songs of life for that matter,
- 54:16Speaker 1: thank God for Me. It's just like it's one of
- 54:19Speaker 1: the ones, you know, it's like one of my top
- 54:21Speaker 1: hundred songs of autonomy. It is like it's something that
- 54:23Speaker 1: I just it. It just means so much to me.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Vince Staples Dark, whatever the fuck the name of that
- 54:31Speaker 1: album is, It's fucking incredible.
- 54:33Speaker 3: It's I should have I should have put that as
- 54:35Speaker 3: honorable mentions.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Oh God, specifically, oh yeah, the Show. No, the Show
- 54:40Speaker 1: is an honorable mention. But that album is so good
- 54:45Speaker 1: because it's so dark. It's like exactly what he says it,
- 54:48Speaker 1: but then it's uplitude and it needs to be like
- 54:50Speaker 1: the West just had a lot of droids, a soul,
- 54:52Speaker 1: you know, it's joints really fire.
- 54:55Speaker 2: All those were like really like like this year was
- 54:58Speaker 2: lacking in film was for music For me.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Music went way harder.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, oh shit, you know what I mean, Like, Okay,
- 55:06Speaker 2: I gotta work on my music.
- 55:09Speaker 1: And it's just really good to hear you know, kids
- 55:12Speaker 1: and younger people, you know, coming out with joints. I
- 55:16Speaker 1: don't mention the Toby Enigway. I did not like that
- 55:18Speaker 1: new shit he dropped, but you know, I don't mention
- 55:20Speaker 1: my dude.
- 55:22Speaker 2: I'm sorry he lost me.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I do want to shout out because I listened
- 55:29Speaker 1: to him more than anyone else this year other than
- 55:31Speaker 1: and this ain't new at all, but I got addicted to.
- 55:34Speaker 2: The one the Lonious Monk.
- 55:37Speaker 1: I highly encourage anyone if you're into music at all,
- 55:41Speaker 1: and if you haven't ever gotten into the Lonius. Just
- 55:44Speaker 1: check him out. He is a legendary jazz pianist. He's
- 55:47Speaker 1: you know, been passed obviously, but he is just one
- 55:50Speaker 1: of the greats. I feel like DJ Premier is like
- 55:53Speaker 1: a reincarnation of him. So if you love you know,
- 55:56Speaker 1: hip hop, you'll hear those phrasings and the Loonius is playing.
- 56:00Speaker 1: I just grew ad digit to him and played so
- 56:02Speaker 1: much of him like he was on my title. He
- 56:04Speaker 1: was my number one play joint this year easily. Yeah,
- 56:07Speaker 1: God loved me some monks, so definitely check him out.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Moving on to me do some quick.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Comics on top and this is the last.
- 56:15Speaker 3: This is the last the category. Yeah we did everything.
- 56:19Speaker 4: This is the last category that we and not the
- 56:21Speaker 4: last top thing of twenty twenty four, but just the
- 56:23Speaker 4: last category for tonight's show.
- 56:25Speaker 1: But yeah, I have I did read a lot of
- 56:27Speaker 1: books this year, and we start off the show saying that,
- 56:30Speaker 1: so before I do comic books, I do want to
- 56:31Speaker 1: shout out some real books, okay, because I actually did
- 56:34Speaker 1: read a lot of books this year, and I'm really
- 56:37Speaker 1: not just I'm proud of myself and I just want, man,
- 56:40Speaker 1: people gotta read more books.
- 56:41Speaker 2: Bro, Like absolutely, you know.
- 56:45Speaker 3: My problem is just wanting to read too many at
- 56:47Speaker 3: a time and not being able focus.
- 56:49Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 56:50Speaker 1: What I've done now is like, nah, you know, even
- 56:52Speaker 1: though I bought a bunch, you know, like I buy
- 56:54Speaker 1: a bunch of ones, I'm like, no, I'm reading this
- 56:56Speaker 1: this week, and then I just you know, four and
- 56:58Speaker 1: especially when you wake up in the morning and read
- 57:00Speaker 1: a chapter so that you'll chew through joints, you know,
- 57:03Speaker 1: like I haven't done that for the last few weeks,
- 57:04Speaker 1: but for a minute I was.
- 57:06Speaker 2: I'm chewing through like I read a lot of books on.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Music because I'm working on another project about music, and
- 57:11Speaker 1: I just love music, obviously, but I really wanted to
- 57:15Speaker 1: I don't uh the public any book that I read.
- 57:17Speaker 1: It's actually out of print, so you can't get that, sorry.
- 57:20Speaker 1: But How Music Works by It's right behind Me by
- 57:23Speaker 1: David Byrne, the lead artist of the group The Talking Heads,
- 57:28Speaker 1: is fucking me up right now, Like it is. I
- 57:31Speaker 1: have barely got two three chapters to it, and this
- 57:34Speaker 1: dude is just saying some of the illustating about music
- 57:36Speaker 1: and just life and everything. I'm loving that book, How
- 57:40Speaker 1: Music Works by David Byrne.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Please check that out a bunch more obs have to
- 57:46Speaker 2: make a list.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I can't think of everything I've been reading off hand
- 57:49Speaker 1: or that I read off hand this year, but as
- 57:52Speaker 1: far as comics, I mean, you know, love book dropped
- 57:56Speaker 1: this year. Jimmy Hendris Purple Haze from Titan that.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Was my number one, two, three, four, five, six, and
- 58:03Speaker 3: eight nine.
- 58:03Speaker 1: Ten when I saw the list and I saw that
- 58:07Speaker 1: you put that on that, you know, you know, the
- 58:09Speaker 1: single tear drop from mine.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Ah, And yes, I'm biased as hell, but so the
- 58:14Speaker 4: fuck what because honestly, your ship is good.
- 58:17Speaker 3: This shit is good. Your ship was good. I hope
- 58:20Speaker 3: you know.
- 58:21Speaker 4: I will always be honest with you, like if she's
- 58:23Speaker 4: kind of weak or mid I'd be like, I didn't
- 58:24Speaker 4: really like it, this shit like that. No, Jimmy Hender's
- 58:27Speaker 4: Purple Haze was truly transcendent of anything I could have
- 58:32Speaker 4: even any thought I've ever had of Jimmy Henchries, because
- 58:36Speaker 4: it wasn't enough and it wasn't a lot.
- 58:38Speaker 3: And you in this book really opened up my eyes
- 58:41Speaker 3: to the importance of.
- 58:44Speaker 4: Jimmy and why he matters, and open up my eyes
- 58:49Speaker 4: to the fact that there's so many like He's the
- 58:51Speaker 4: Flowers aren't there where it should be when it comes
- 58:54Speaker 4: to him, right, And yes, this is fiction, yes this
- 58:56Speaker 4: is but as I, as I said many times, previous
- 59:00Speaker 4: conversations like this book drove me to want to learn
- 59:04Speaker 4: more about his life and who he truly was and
- 59:06Speaker 4: what he really stood for and cared about. And this
- 59:10Speaker 4: book is really just a testament to some of his legacy, right,
- 59:16Speaker 4: And I say some because his legacy is huge, right,
- 59:17Speaker 4: but just some of his legacy, just to tap into
- 59:20Speaker 4: this entity like that, Like and then Tom Mandrake the
- 59:23Speaker 4: fucking art like, no, Ben, You're Jimmy Hedrisproperce was my
- 59:27Speaker 4: top comic book of twenty twenty four.
- 59:30Speaker 3: That's it period.
- 59:34Speaker 1: It's funny as a little more time has drawn away
- 59:36Speaker 1: from me releasing it and creating it and people are
- 59:39Speaker 1: talking to me about it when you know, like the
- 59:41Speaker 1: other day recently on Blue Star someone mentioned they're like
- 59:44Speaker 1: they're just talking randomly, you know, they weren't even talking
- 59:47Speaker 1: to me, and then they're they're talking about that whole
- 59:49Speaker 1: thread and talk about something and they're like, and this
- 59:51Speaker 1: is all signified and one of my favorite recent panels.
- 59:54Speaker 2: And it was right, and it was and then they
- 59:56Speaker 2: posted I saw the as they're locally called, Yo, it's
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: killing me.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: It's people call it a post, but honestly, to be funny,
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: people call it the Skeets.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Yeah, the steet is wild that they be trying to
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: get away with that one. That's that's pretty wild.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: And I get it, Sky Skeet, I get it, but
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: wow anyway, yeah, and I was like, that's crazy, you know,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: like that's somebody's favorite panel. And then then I got
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: interviewed in Houston. I still and posted this it'll come
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: up soon. But I got interviewed in Houston and they're
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: talking to me about another piece of the book and
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: they're like yo. And then my man Joe Hawthorne, he
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: calls me the other day shout out to HU.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: My man Joe calls me up and he's like, he's
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: like this first time he got to talk to me
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: about it, and he brings up that same moment that
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Milton in Houston brought up to me. And that moment
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: was when Vesper goes back home and she's talking about,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: you know, you can the old phrase, you can never
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: go home again, and Milton was like, you turn an
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: old phrase and really turn it on his head and
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: I'm like, that's crazy, you know, like it's like that
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: that I really like to hear, and I really like,
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: you know, because that was my point in writing it,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: you know, in that scene and then Mello's scene about
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: you know, that inspirational scene to do love was just
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: one of my favorite scenes of Mellow written, and it
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: was like, nah, we really.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Did some shit.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Like now I'm to the point where if I don't
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: see it on people's best of lists, I'm like, oh,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: you haven't ready yet, you know what I mean, because
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: that's it. Yeah, that's it. There's no way like it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Like a shout out to Kieren Gillen, who's about to
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: be on my list. And Karen's coming on the show
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: in January so we can talk about The Power Fantasy,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: which is one of my favorite books. And I saw
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Karen at New York Comic Con and he started on
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: Hindreds and he was like, oh, I really liked it,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: and you know, Karen's fucking excitable as hell. And then
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: he's like, and I had to you know, once I
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: got into it, I realized and I really liked this.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: So I was like, no, I need to really read this,
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: you know. So I'm sitting there like, Karen, you're like
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: my favorite fucking or one of my favorite authors. You're
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: one of my inspirations and I one of my fears
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: was this book coming out and you reading it and
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: then him telling me, no, I really am enjoying this,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: you know, and he's going to finish it so we
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: can talk about it on the show.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Was like, that's that ship and shout out to my brother,
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: young guru.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Man, I'm putting you on blasts right now, my g
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: because I don't know if you've ready yet, but I
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: ain't heard yet and it's upsetting me. And I'm about
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: to fucking mail you a copy because.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: I'm like, the set is upsetting me and my homegirls.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, you know, like he was one of
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: the people that and I've told him this, he was
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: one of the people I wrote this book, like, Yo,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I need this person to read it, you know what
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: I mean? And my man's I you know, I ain't
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: hurt it and I ain't seen nothing yet, so bro,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: I'm about to send you a copy anyway. Yeah, Jimmy
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: and this purple he is definitely on my top. Shout
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: out to beg jim and the White Boy the only
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: other book that I was like, damn it, they might
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: have got me for best book of the Year by
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: my brothers, David Walker and uh Marcus Promein right, Yes, yep.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Ben Jim and the White Boy just an incredible retelling
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: of the story of Huck Finn from the point of
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: his slave bid Jim from the point of view of
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: his slave by Jim. It is there's a depending on
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: that book that I want to put on a goddamn
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: T shirt and just wear it around every day because
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: it's just like it's such a moment, you know, and
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: it's like the whole book is full of them, but
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: that one panel. But no, it's absolutely beautiful graphic novel.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: It's just amazing on so many levels. It's just a
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: work of art. It's funny because the last book, Karen
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Gillan's Power Fantasy, I saw Patton Oswalt recently posted about it,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: and Patton was like, the Power Fantasy, this is one
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: of what's like Watchmen, like Da Da Dad. When other
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: creatives read it, it's gonna, you know, change the way
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: they do comics. And I was like, goddamn to me
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: more Big Jim and the White Boys my more of
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: my thing, you know, of like I hope you know,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: it makes people change the way they do comics and
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Power Fantasy. While I think it's one of the great
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: books of the year, it's I don't know, it's maybe
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: because I'm such a fan of Karen or really that
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: it's not blowing my No, it is blowing my mind,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: but I don't know. It's not like Watchmen blowing my mind,
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: you know. But if you're not reading the fucking Power Fantasy,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: it is one of the best of the year. It's
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: such an ill concept long story short.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: It is a world.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: It's a you know, it's a different it's an Earth,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: but it's not like full of superheroes. There are six
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: or seven, maybe eight people in the world who have powers,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: and they are of the level of superpowered nations.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Each one of them, you know, so each one of
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: them is a superpower in itself. So there's only eight
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: of them. And it takes place from like the nineteen
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: sixties through like I want to go to the eighties.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: I think I'm not.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: I'm not sure exactly where the whole thing is going
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: to take place in, but it is a world where
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Europe has been destroyed, and I mean that was only
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: revealed in like issue three or four, but it's basically
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: there's a there's just water where there was Europe, and
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: I still don't know exactly why, but it's because of
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: one of these people with these powers.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: And so it's that type of thing where Kieran has
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: created this whole.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: World and thought out the whole three of it, and
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: you know, he's related it through music and everything. Like
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: he even hit me up when he was making He
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: was like, because I hit him up when I first
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: got the assignment for Jimmy and I was like, Yo,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: what do you know about Jimmy because I know he
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: knows music and he was like, actually, not that much.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: And then he went and did research on Jimmy for
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: the nineteen sixty portion of this book that he's writing,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: which turned into The Power Fantasy. So he was recommended
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: me some books after I finished him and I'm like.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Well, thanks, but sequel brother, right right, yeah, but the
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Power Fantasy.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: It's one of the ones, Joe, like, any hearing book
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: to me is one of the ones, but this is
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: one of them ones.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Got it? Okay, Okay, that's the list. I trust your judgment.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, and I'm not gonna you know, in
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: the year that I put out one of my favorite
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: books of all time, you know, I'm not gonna talk
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: about much unless it really is up there. And both
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: of those, and then yes, lastly, because my brother, I
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: got to shout him out. I've done it before, but
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: it's still ongoing, and I just finally caught up. The
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: Obvious Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos by James Tenian with
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: art by a friend of the show and family to me,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: Isaac Goodheart, is just also one of them IL books.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: It's The Oli Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos. Follows Christopher Chaos,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: who's basically a mad scientist in high school and he
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: runs into a Frankenstein, a werewolf, some vampires, a monster
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: hunting society, another young girl at the high school who
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: has a spiritual cats following her around for some reason,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: he was in love. Christopher Chaos himself was in love
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: with the high school jock who happened to be aware wolf,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: who got killed in the very first issue and sold
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: off a bunch of things. So you know, it's The
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: OBVII Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaosh you know, nothing much
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: to it and phenomenal.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: And then Isaac Goodheart is just like I keep telling him,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: and I will keep saying this, Like we've known for
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: a long time. He used to do this book postal.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: He's been on the show. He's going on one of
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: our panels and our postal. I thought he was a
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: great art and I thought he was really good at
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: what people call acting and comic book work, which is
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: just like facial expressions and stuff like that. And then
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: this motherfucker just grew up and turned into a monster,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: you know, like you just become one of the best
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: artists working in comments today. And I'm just so proud
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: that I know him. I got some art from him
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: at New York Comic Con. I'm really proud that I
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: actually got a piece from this man, because you know,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: he's one of them. One Joe, and shout out to
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Isaac for continuing and learning and growing in his craft
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: and just becoming one. And please pick up The Ali
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos. It's guaranteed they're going to
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: I think fifty issues that they're going to finish the
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: whole story, and they're on like thirteen right now.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: So you can catch up pretty quick, and it's just fantastic.
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: Okay, I will say Joseph in the chat said, y'all
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: are y'all gonna do games? On a different episode we did.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: Before coming on, we were talking about Yo, it's essentially
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: mentioning games.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: And I'm even googling games.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: And my problem is, jose did you play You kept
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: playing the same game.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: That's the problem with me. Dog, Like I've been I
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: wanted to play Space Marine. I've heard it's good, and
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: then I've heard some parts of repetitive. I'm a huge
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Ward forty K fan. I even watched the episode of
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Secret Level, that new show on Amazon prim that had
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: the warmmer uh in a warm episode that was pretty dope,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: and the pac Man episode was disturbing. I mean, like,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: like one of the most disturbing things I've seen this
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: year was that fucking pact Man episode. Like, Jesus Christ,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: don't look, don't do it unless you're you know, unless
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: you just enjoy darkness, because.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: That was like, you know, hello darkness, my old frind.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: It was that type of moment watching that. Yeah.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Anyway, so yeah, no I haven't played Space Marine. Well listen,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of things. I downloaded real quick
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: to play, but there wasn't But look, I'll be honest
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: as always. Overwatched the oh new that I did play,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: and I'm enjoying it, and I'm actually gonna do some
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: streaming of it because I know it's popping and everyone's
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: loving it. And add me on PlayStation DJ Ben, I mean,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: and on twitch, dj Ben, I mean, and so we
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: can play together. It's Marvel Rivals, the overwatched clone that
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Marvel just dropped. And y'all know I'm an Overwatch fanatic
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: and I still can't even get off Overwatch to honestly
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: even play it because I just love over Watch that much.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: But Marvel Rivals is a dope ass game. It's free,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: That's the other thing. That's why they killing Overwatchers. It's free,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: so anyone can download it right now play it. It's
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: a third person Overwatch plone featuring all these Marvel characters.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: It's fire. I didn't even really explored it yet. Like
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: I was playing as a whole the other day. Spider
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: Man is dope iron Fish. I was whipping ass as
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Iron Frist. I didn't know what I was doing, and
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: I was still like, Okay, I kind of get it,
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: and it's fast paced like Overwatch. For it's like you
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: got to know what you're doing, so I gotta figure
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: it out first and I'll probably be addicted in a
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: few weeks.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: And that's all we played. But it is that.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: And then I had to look it up to see
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: if it even came out of the year and it
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: didn't to the game one game of the last year
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: last year, and that's bald as date. I'm on my
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: second playthrough. It's just one of the greatest games ever made.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: You'll stop playing, No, I probably won't, like most people
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: like I'm I'm I'm already thinking about my third play through,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: Like I already am, like because next year they're doing
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: another update where they're gonna add these new subclasses and
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: I finally want to do They have a drunken monk,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: and I've been wanting to play as a monk, so
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: I'm like, next year it's drunk time.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: So no, I'm not.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Ballus j It's it fucks me up, like every time
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: I play it, like how ill this game is just
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: shout out to y'all, Like I you know, I don't want.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: To get those people respect because games that just don't
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: come around every day.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: I you know, I don't play too many games now.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: I always was grew up a gamer and until like
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: maybe the last five years or so, just five or
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: six years.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: Just when Cold Turkey is supposed to be simply because
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: I have gaming addiction.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: But what you got to talk about?
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: What I'll make a whole episode about that.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: We need that on this so so I so now
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: if I keep it light, like I was fucking around
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: with Blatro a lot this year, Blatroot since we're doing
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: the pronunciations today, it's like Solitaire and poker and some
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: other shit going on, and it's like it's like a
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: it's just like it seems like a simple card game,
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: but like you start like it's all about like building
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: deck mechanics, like you have like joker cards that can
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: do different effects, and then you have like you have
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: Tarot cards that gets thrown in that hole and it's
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: like it's the waterlet fucking thing. It's like you're playing
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: poker but with power ups among and it's Solitaire because
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: you're not playing against anybody with the computer.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: It's it can get a bit much, it can get
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: very addictive.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: I will say that I have not touched it in
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: like at least a week because I was just like
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: never again, right, But that fucking game is fun as hell,
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: and you would think something so unassuming as a card
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: game would just be like straight up ah, it's just
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: a casual game. Like nah, I was kind of in it,
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: so Balacho for sure a game I have not play
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: that I do want to play that. It's been A
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: top game of twenty twenty four. Is Black myth Wukang
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: GOSSI play that, like, I you know, like like like
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: game edition be Damn, I'm gonna have to play that
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: shit because I don't know if you notice, you may
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: or may not have been there, but there.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: Was a cosplayer a New York Comic Con this year.
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: You have the sickest fucking Black myth Wukan bmw a
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: gosplay because he was the main character. And when I
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: say it was gorgeous, I have never and y'all could
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: see this cathter like if you go to our YouTube
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: page right now and just go to our cosplay videos
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: from from this year, from twenty twenty.
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: Four, look at that. It is insane so so Black
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: myth Wukan is an RPG.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: It's inspired by a classical Chinese novel, Journey to the West,
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: and it follows like what it says, here's an anthropomorphic
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: monkey based on Sun w Kang and it's insane. Like yeah,
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: everything about it is so fucking lit. And also like
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: I had, I got so much information from the cosplayer.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: It shouts to you, love you, appreciate you. Who was
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: telling me because he was like, oh, it's from this game.
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: I'm like, well, tell me more about the game and
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: the stuff he was fucking telling us, and how deep
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: into Chinese culture and mythology that it is, and like
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: everything about it is insane.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: I have to play this game.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: I will. I will at some point.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: The one thing about that joint is my fear and
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: love of kaiju is something that you know, you are real, No,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: it's just the idea of them. It's like I have,
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: you know, like it, I love the Galactys, like I
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: love lust Galactus, ut Zilla, you know, all those things.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: But then it's the love crafty and nature of large
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: things that just really, you know, terrifies me at the
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: same time.
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: So yeah, it's like, oh, a large alienship. It's in
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: New Jersey, so you know, we got ship flying around right.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Now, like Shadow of the Colossus, Like that was my game,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: but also terrified me, you know as I played it,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: like absolutely, that's kind.
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: Of scary though, that's I see why.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, definitely was because those big ass things. It
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: was ooof and I loved it because they're so beautiful
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: at the same time. But god, that game. But yeah,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: I'm still up on Balder's date. I'm still I'm getting
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: on Marvel Rivals. Please follow me dj Ben, I mean
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: on Twitch and PlayStation five. Ad me if you're on there,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: and I'll definitely be rocking rbles soon. Mike might get
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: on something later tonight.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: We'll see. I guess that's about it. We did books,
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: we did comments, we did shows, we did movies.
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, it's not going to be the most
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: exhaustive wrap up show, but you know, we want to
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: just pretty long. It was pretty long then, longer than
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: normal now, and you know, we just wanted to make
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: sure y'all knew what was up for twenty twenty four.
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: We hope that we gave you something y'all didn't know
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: about because then you could just check it out or
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: we if y'all completely agreed like, yeah, you saw our
- 1:15:00Speaker 4: watched or played all that fantastic If you've vehemently disagreed,
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: we also want to know that shit too, right, So,
