- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We're back in the Almost Famous podcast. We're here today
- 0:09Speaker 2: because we've got some more breaking news.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Shocking. We have breaking news around here.
- 0:15Speaker 2: It's wild. It's like four times a week. We've now
- 0:19Speaker 2: gotten some clarity on the fate of the Bachelor franchise
- 0:23Speaker 2: and also some news on Taylor Frankie Paul. Let's start
- 0:26Speaker 2: with Taylor Frankie Paul. It just came out Ashley that
- 0:29Speaker 2: she's deactivated. It looks like all social media, you know.
- 0:34Speaker 4: I make light of the fact that it's breaking news
- 0:37Speaker 4: around here because we have so much of it when
- 0:40Speaker 4: it comes to Taylor Frankie Paul. But this is really
- 0:42Speaker 4: actually quite serious for her. She's never done anything like this.
- 0:47Speaker 4: This is her, you know, her livelihood, and we were honestly,
- 0:50Speaker 4: for lack of a better term, a little bit weirded
- 0:53Speaker 4: out when she didn't take a social media break after
- 0:57Speaker 4: the postponement or whatever you want to call it of
- 0:59Speaker 4: the Bachelorette, and here she is completely turning off social
- 1:03Speaker 4: especially strange that it's after a string of posts in.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Which she was like, this is what I've.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Been doing to get like better emotionally and mentally and
- 1:15Speaker 4: like for you guys on my journey with me. Her
- 1:18Speaker 4: sister is the only one who's commented, and she said,
- 1:22Speaker 4: like everybody has a breaking point. That's basically all we
- 1:24Speaker 4: got from her. So I don't know what happened over
- 1:28Speaker 4: the past week where she decided that, like this, enough
- 1:32Speaker 4: is enough, and then it was This is an interesting
- 1:36Speaker 4: tidbit from a TikToker.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Who noticed her last post her.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Last like regram, so she didn't actually post it, but
- 1:46Speaker 4: it was like the last one that she liked and
- 1:47Speaker 4: like re shared said humble enough to know I am
- 1:52Speaker 4: replaceable at work, but confident enough to know it would
- 1:56Speaker 4: take three people. And this is on the tails of some,
- 2:02Speaker 4: isn't she News from ABC Rob Mills has made comments
- 2:06Speaker 4: at the ABC event that they had this week where
- 2:10Speaker 4: he did announce, as you said earlier in the podcast,
- 2:13Speaker 4: that Bachelor will return. Bachelor in Paradise will also return
- 2:17Speaker 4: in twenty twenty seven, but Taylor's involvement in season five
- 2:21Speaker 4: that is currently filming now of Secret Lives of Mormon
- 2:25Speaker 4: Wives is up in the air.
- 2:28Speaker 2: It's going to be limited at least, and that based
- 2:32Speaker 2: on our conversation yesterday you can go back and listen
- 2:35Speaker 2: to breaking down her decision to be on Secret Lives
- 2:38Speaker 2: of Mormon Wives or not. Allegedly she has declined like
- 2:45Speaker 2: she was given the decision and she said no. But
- 2:48Speaker 2: she is not closing the door to any appearances on
- 2:51Speaker 2: the season. But Ashley, that does bring us into kind
- 2:55Speaker 2: of our breaking news when it comes to The Bachelor.
- 2:59Speaker 2: You've mentioned that Bob Mills did state that in twenty
- 3:01Speaker 2: twenty seven, Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelor will be returning.
- 3:08Speaker 2: He did not, though, clarify anything about The Bachelorette, probably
- 3:13Speaker 2: because that's still up in the air, but he does
- 3:16Speaker 2: comment on the question was asked him. Whether season twenty
- 3:19Speaker 2: two of The Bachelorette starring Taylor Frankie Paul will ever
- 3:21Speaker 2: air is a different question. Mills says he doesn't know
- 3:25Speaker 2: whether it will ever air on ABC or stream on
- 3:27Speaker 2: Hulu and is taking everything day today, Ashley. That comment
- 3:34Speaker 2: was made based on the recent decision from Salt Lake City,
- 3:39Speaker 2: where the county's District Attorney's office declined to file charges
- 3:44Speaker 2: against Paul.
- 3:47Speaker 3: My thought is that they're going to do something with it.
- 3:52Speaker 4: I think so the April thirtieth thing comes back clear
- 3:55Speaker 4: she gets custody of ever on April thirtieth. I think
- 3:58Speaker 4: they're going to do something with it, because he's not
- 4:01Speaker 4: ruling it out, and if they are okay with her
- 4:05Speaker 4: being on another one of their shows, since they have
- 4:08Speaker 4: not let her go for we know that she's will
- 4:11Speaker 4: return in some capacity to Secret Lives and Mormon Wives.
- 4:15Speaker 4: I'm thinking that they're going to be okay with her
- 4:17Speaker 4: going forward with The Bachelor that's already been filmed.
- 4:21Speaker 2: The interesting thing here, Ashley. Obviously the big news is
- 4:25Speaker 2: that The Bachelor will be returning in twenty twenty seven,
- 4:27Speaker 2: along with Paradise. It's April of twenty twenty six right now.
- 4:33Speaker 4: I mean, what are we going to talk about for
- 4:35Speaker 4: the next nine months? Ben Taylor news keeps going. We
- 4:40Speaker 4: have Real Housewives and we have Taylor News.
- 4:43Speaker 2: But it's interesting that's a year away that he's saying
- 4:47Speaker 2: it will come back.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I guess my question there is why so long of
- 4:53Speaker 2: a hiatus The Paradise has been so infrequent. The way
- 4:58Speaker 2: it is, we took a season off, then it came
- 5:01Speaker 2: back for a season. Now we're going to take another
- 5:03Speaker 2: season off. I'm not an expert in entertainment. I just
- 5:09Speaker 2: imagine the it's kind of I mean, I've always been
- 5:12Speaker 2: told the more you post, the more episodes you can
- 5:15Speaker 2: put out there, the more people are going to stay
- 5:21Speaker 2: tuned and become loyal to it. I don't know if
- 5:24Speaker 2: that's true in TV or not, but that it's it's a.
- 5:28Speaker 4: Long break, it's a really long break. I guess it's
- 5:32Speaker 4: okay to restart. I haven't noticed that any of our
- 5:35Speaker 4: other long breaks like COVID or whatnot, have like helped Bachelor.
- 5:40Speaker 4: It would need to have a long break with something
- 5:43Speaker 4: like to boom, like like long break and boom to
- 5:46Speaker 4: like really reset it.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yeah, something like something like wild. Our producer is saying
- 5:51Speaker 2: that maybe because of this newly announced show at ABC.
- 5:55Speaker 2: It's a Dancing with the Stars reality show where people
- 5:58Speaker 2: are competing to become the next pro, hosted by Robert Irwin,
- 6:02Speaker 2: who has kind of been rumored to be asked a Bachelor.
- 6:07Speaker 4: He's too young, you think, I think he's probably too young.
- 6:09Speaker 4: He's like twenty three right now. Let's let me read
- 6:12Speaker 4: you this.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Wait till twenty twenty seven, he'll be thirty three. Yeah, okay, never.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Find so This quote from Rob Mills which if you
- 6:18Speaker 4: guys don't know Rob Mills by name, he is the
- 6:22Speaker 4: head of unscripted at ABC and Hulu. So he says,
- 6:27Speaker 4: I don't think we need to talk about something that
- 6:29Speaker 4: is a year off. Hopefully at next year's Get Real,
- 6:33Speaker 4: which is like the conference they're at right now, we'll
- 6:36Speaker 4: be talking more about it.
- 6:38Speaker 3: So it's like totally frozen.
- 6:40Speaker 4: So the I feel like the only chance we have
- 6:42Speaker 4: at anything Bachelor related this year will be if Taylor's
- 6:45Speaker 4: Seatson is released. And it makes sense why it's going
- 6:49Speaker 4: to take so long to get something else out there. Yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 4: because like we can't do Paradise without some fresh casts.
- 6:57Speaker 4: You know, I said cast, that's silly. We need a
- 7:00Speaker 4: fresh Bachelorette and Bachelor season to create a Bachelor in
- 7:04Speaker 4: Paradise Golden. I mean, even if they were to film
- 7:08Speaker 4: Golden today and they're not nearly there with casting, it
- 7:13Speaker 4: still wouldn't air until July.
- 7:16Speaker 3: So that's not going to happen.
- 7:18Speaker 4: And then with Bachelor, I mean, they've got a lot
- 7:21Speaker 4: of work to do there too, because they don't have
- 7:23Speaker 4: a group of guys to pick from and they need
- 7:27Speaker 4: to stun.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Cast it, which they probably do. They have to find
- 7:29Speaker 3: the right stunt caster.
- 7:31Speaker 2: The quote from Rob Mills is interesting. The Bachelor he
- 7:35Speaker 2: believes will rise again. It's just he says, it's too
- 7:37Speaker 2: good of a format. I would agree. I think there's
- 7:40Speaker 2: a lot of opportunities for the Bachelor to rise again,
- 7:42Speaker 2: but it's the decisions and the way that it's presented.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I mean, I think the Bachelorette was on the verge
- 7:48Speaker 2: of rising again. It was two days away from really
- 7:52Speaker 2: having some of historic ratings and a lot of interest
- 7:55Speaker 2: and intrigue. I think all of this. I would have
- 7:59Speaker 2: loved to be a fly on the wall when Rob
- 8:01Speaker 2: was getting these questions because it's very interesting that they
- 8:04Speaker 2: are being asked at get Real, which is the unscripted
- 8:08Speaker 2: kind of conference and announcement with a very small bachelor
- 8:12Speaker 2: presence at this conference, you know, you had I think
- 8:16Speaker 2: a picture of four or five former contestants and leads
- 8:22Speaker 2: that attended this. If we would have flashed back ten
- 8:27Speaker 2: years ago, a conference like this for Disney would have
- 8:31Speaker 2: been the structure of this. The foundation of it would
- 8:36Speaker 2: have been Bachelor. But it's not there. They like invited
- 8:40Speaker 2: people from Los Angeles locals and to like ask if
- 8:43Speaker 2: they want to come. This was not. This was not
- 8:46Speaker 2: like a big performance. It was almost like the show
- 8:49Speaker 2: didn't exist.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Right and just going off topic a bit, but I
- 8:55Speaker 4: don't predict that there will be that There's a real
- 8:58Speaker 4: hunger for a Golden Batchel seasonal season, so I don't
- 9:02Speaker 4: even really like count that as part of the franchise
- 9:05Speaker 4: right now.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It's interesting to me, Ashley, as I sit here and
- 9:21Speaker 2: I'm with Rob, I agree. I think the format is good.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I think it will rise again. I'm gonna believe that.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I want to believe it. The franchise has done so
- 9:28Speaker 2: much for you and I personally and so many of
- 9:31Speaker 2: our friends. But it is interesting to sit into place
- 9:35Speaker 2: and I think everybody would have to admit to this
- 9:37Speaker 2: right now. That show is dead. Now it could it's
- 9:41Speaker 2: not like on you know, I guess dead would be
- 9:44Speaker 2: like done. It's on its last breath. It will have
- 9:47Speaker 2: to rise again to get back on television. The Golden
- 9:50Speaker 2: was massive, it's done, and it all happened in one season.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I don't want to blame mel for that. Yeah, but
- 9:58Speaker 2: that show's done.
- 9:59Speaker 3: And then Fortus because I do.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, Taylor, I mean the Bachelorette done right, And now
- 10:08Speaker 2: we have this place where we have this hiatus of
- 10:10Speaker 2: saying we're gonna wait another year to air television. I
- 10:15Speaker 2: do believe the franchise is strong, but how does it
- 10:18Speaker 2: come back? And that's my question for you, actually, how
- 10:21Speaker 2: does it come back?
- 10:22Speaker 3: Okay, it comes back to me?
- 10:27Speaker 4: And this is maybe way too personal, too personal of
- 10:31Speaker 4: a feeling, but I feel like The Bachelor is one
- 10:34Speaker 4: of the most wholesome reality TV shows out there, and
- 10:39Speaker 4: I think that's how people just like getting a little
- 10:42Speaker 4: too tired of like the Ranch of Temptation Island and
- 10:46Speaker 4: Love Island when the pendulum comes back.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 4: The only thing that I have to say that's hilarious
- 10:52Speaker 4: is who is the host of the show that's actually
- 10:55Speaker 4: trying to bring wholesome back, Chris Harrison, their Fox Nation show.
- 11:02Speaker 4: It's all about like, well, this is probably going a
- 11:05Speaker 4: little bit more back in time than back to wholesome.
- 11:07Speaker 4: But it's like people, who I think it's going to
- 11:09Speaker 4: be more stay at home mom. Do you think it's
- 11:12Speaker 4: I know from what I've heard from casting over there,
- 11:15Speaker 4: they've said that they like feel like it's going to
- 11:18Speaker 4: feel like old school Bachelor.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think they they set a traditional values
- 11:23Speaker 2: things to get people talking. I don't mean this isn't
- 11:26Speaker 2: a hey mom, you can't work be at home all
- 11:30Speaker 2: the time. They no, oh, okay, I think it's like.
- 11:35Speaker 3: I thought it was tradwives.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's what they kind of wanted people
- 11:39Speaker 2: to and then they'll watch and be like, oh no,
- 11:41Speaker 2: this is old school bachelor.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Okay, I think we'll see. We'll see.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Anyway, when I watch reality TV, because everybody's always like
- 11:49Speaker 4: do you watch this?
- 11:50Speaker 3: Do you watch that? Like how do you be? How
- 11:53Speaker 3: can you be? On reality TV?
- 11:54Speaker 4: And then like you don't watch a ton And I'm like,
- 11:56Speaker 4: because a lot of the tough stuff makes me feel uncomfortable,
- 12:00Speaker 4: I will say, well, watching our show, back Housewives of
- 12:04Speaker 4: Rhode Island doesn't make me feel uncomfortable. There is like
- 12:07Speaker 4: something like more grounded feeling and like more familially oriented
- 12:15Speaker 4: than like a lot of the like love quote quote
- 12:19Speaker 4: love shows, which is really just hook up shows.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, there's very few like love shows. It's
- 12:26Speaker 2: hookup shows, it's hot people shows exactly.
- 12:29Speaker 3: And that makes me so uncomfortable.
- 12:30Speaker 2: You and I yeah, I yes, I don't have any
- 12:35Speaker 2: concept for them. I mean I've heard rumors about these
- 12:39Speaker 2: shows and that they have live cameras in the bedrooms
- 12:42Speaker 2: and there's like sounds and noises. I'm like, I don't
- 12:45Speaker 2: want to see that.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Like the night camera vision, like with the cameras launched
- 12:50Speaker 4: in the corner of the room pushes my I know
- 12:53Speaker 4: that it happens sometimes with fantasy suits and paradise, but
- 12:57Speaker 4: that like, for some reason, it just feels fine.
- 12:59Speaker 3: It feels like it's within the bounds of.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Love because those people are always like in serious relationships
- 13:05Speaker 4: and these other shows. It's just like you're hot tonight
- 13:07Speaker 4: and I'm drunk.
- 13:08Speaker 2: And I'm like, no, yeah, it's gonna be interesting, Ashley.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I'm glad that that Rob Mills was answering these questions
- 13:17Speaker 2: that he said it would come back. That does give
- 13:19Speaker 2: me confidence. He is the one that could speak to
- 13:21Speaker 2: it and say it, I think, and I hope Rob listens.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I feel for him and the team. They have a
- 13:30Speaker 2: massive job in front of them, and I don't think
- 13:32Speaker 2: that's understating it overstating it. I don't think that's anything
- 13:36Speaker 2: they don't know. There is gonna have to be a
- 13:39Speaker 2: lot of intention, geniusness, wisdom to pull this off. So
- 13:48Speaker 2: I'm glad I'm hearing him say it, and I think
- 13:51Speaker 2: they have a good team there. Do I believe it's
- 13:54Speaker 2: actually gonna happen. I can't say I do. I'm not
- 13:58Speaker 2: confident that they can figure like that sounds like I'm
- 14:01Speaker 2: going against him. I just don't know how it comes
- 14:03Speaker 2: back after your hiatus is pretty much what.
- 14:06Speaker 3: The really good famous bachelor.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Maybe that could be like wholesome.
- 14:10Speaker 4: And grounded, like a like I who love, like an
- 14:13Speaker 4: NFL player who.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Is well known, but not such thing as what are
- 14:20Speaker 3: you talking about?
- 14:21Speaker 4: My sister's here to join in for her podcast, and
- 14:25Speaker 4: then about the real housewives of Rhode Island.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I'll leave you guys to it.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Lauren, you can you think of one bachelor off the
- 14:32Speaker 4: top of your head? No, but I was just gonna
- 14:34Speaker 4: say thank goodness for Farmer Wants a Wife?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Though, you guys are forgetting all about it.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Do you like Farmer wants a wife?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:40Speaker 3: They picked.
- 14:40Speaker 4: I don't know how they fund these hot cowboys everywhere.
- 14:43Speaker 4: All right, Well, guys, I'm sure we'll be back later
- 14:46Speaker 4: this week with an update on Taylor Frankie Paul's socials,
- 14:49Speaker 4: because I mean.
- 14:51Speaker 2: They're active left with no departure.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Uh no, no departure warning.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Let's say thanks to ABC and Hulu for commenting publicly
- 14:59Speaker 2: that this I will come back. We both want Yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 2: I know, we're so happy about that.
- 15:02Speaker 3: That is truly like such good news for us.
- 15:05Speaker 4: I would be so sad if we were living in
- 15:07Speaker 4: a bachelor free world.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Maybe we get rob on. Let's see if we can
- 15:11Speaker 2: get rob On.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Until he Yeah, he's he's he's so sweet to us.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he's open to talk. Let's get him on to
- 15:18Speaker 2: like really dive in to maybe where his mind's at.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I think that'd be good for us, the show, the listeners, Hey,
- 15:24Speaker 2: where do you see this going? I think would be
- 15:26Speaker 2: a big conversation and a really good one for everybody
- 15:30Speaker 2: to hear. Like if he was kind of put on
- 15:32Speaker 2: the hot seat to say, hey, I'm so glad you
- 15:33Speaker 2: said this, but how are you gonna do? It? Would
- 15:36Speaker 2: be would be fun and get people excited for twenty
- 15:39Speaker 2: twenty seven. Well, hey, that's the breaking news for the day.
- 15:42Speaker 2: We'll be back breaking down the Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
- 15:44Speaker 2: We also on the Almost Famous podcast are breaking down
