- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the porch.
- 0:30So I'm telling you a funny story today because I had a completely
- 0:33different plan of what I was going to shoot this morning.
- 0:36You know, we did daylight savings time last night and of
- 0:40course, I spent my evening again.
- 0:44We talk about emotions. You can hear Rufus off in the
- 0:47background. They're crowing like crazy.
- 0:49We spend our time talking about how emotions affect us and what
- 0:52they do and everything else. Well, I woke up, I went to bed.
- 0:56Not so early for me, but you know, still early for most
- 1:00people. I think it was like 930.
- 1:03And I had this thought while I was clearly asleep.
- 1:07I had this thought because my certainty girl never shuts the
- 1:11hell up that I wonder if the app on my phone that I use as a
- 1:17clock is actually going to tell the time change.
- 1:23Like this got into my head because it's an app and it's not
- 1:26my phone doing it. It's an app.
- 1:28So I was like, I wonder what that's going to be.
- 1:31I wonder if it's going to work. I wonder if it's going to
- 1:33actually do what it's supposed to do.
- 1:35And I, I could not figure for the life of me, I couldn't let
- 1:38it go. Now here's what else goes on in
- 1:41my head. Because one would say logically,
- 1:43well, why didn't you just pick up the phone and check it?
- 1:46Because I know myself so well that if I pick up the phone and
- 1:51it's 1:00 in the morning and I see a text message from a
- 1:55client, or I start thinking about things, or I see the
- 1:58bright light, all of a sudden I'm going to be hooked.
- 2:01And I'm going to say I might as well just get up.
- 2:03And I might as well just go work, write content, do
- 2:06something because I don't like to waste time.
- 2:09So instead what I decided to do was to attempt to let it go.
- 2:13I said, I'm letting this go, but I couldn't because I didn't know
- 2:17and my certainty girl was off the rails.
- 2:20So I would sleep for a little bit and then I would wake up and
- 2:22sleep for a little bit. And then I kept thinking, does
- 2:25it really feel like it's 3:00 in the morning?
- 2:28Does it really feel like it's 4:00 in the morning?
- 2:30Does it feel like it's off? And then I started getting angry
- 2:33about the whole time change thing in general, like as a
- 2:36group of adults in a, in a position where they can get rid
- 2:40of this stupidity of changing the clocks that has nothing of,
- 2:45of, of benefit to any of us anymore, except to mess up with
- 2:48our friends in other areas that don't time change in the US,
- 2:51like Arizona. What do we do?
- 2:54So it, it, it just, it was so aggravating to me that a group
- 2:58of adult humans that are in our Congress can't make a decision
- 3:02on what to do about this because we know they keep lamenting it.
- 3:06So of course, then I start thinking about all the other
- 3:10things that I needed to do that I did not get back to yesterday
- 3:15because I had this really hellacious afternoon of all
- 3:19kinds of things coming at me. And I was, and I normally don't
- 3:21say things like that, but it was like that yesterday afternoon.
- 3:24And I was like, Oh my gosh. OK, OK.
- 3:28I was just, I was off my game. And that's what we're talking
- 3:32about right now, listening to that voice, getting into it,
- 3:35being off your game. It happens to everybody.
- 3:38It happens to all of us. And yesterday was one of those
- 3:41days. So today here I was, I, I ended
- 3:45up, I said, OK, you know what, I'm going to go out early.
- 3:48I'll record it from the porch. So I will get a jump start.
- 3:51And on the day before the sun is even up and it will feel good.
- 3:55And I was rushing to go out the door and here I have this cup of
- 4:00hot liquid with me because it's not tea right now and it's not
- 4:04coffee. I'm doing this thing called
- 4:05LMNTS. And this is not a promo for
- 4:07Element tea. Let me be very clear about that.
- 4:09But I'm using it hot water with an Element tea packet in it to
- 4:13give me magnesium, potassium and all that stuff.
- 4:15So here I am coming out the door and I have to unlock the door.
- 4:20So it means I have to put the cup down.
- 4:22I go to put the cup down. I miss the shelf because I'm
- 4:24rushing. And then I spill it all over the
- 4:27floor. And I, I just stopped And I,
- 4:30instead of getting aggravated, I was like, OK, that's totally
- 4:33because you've been in this state now for 24 hours.
- 4:36It you took it from yesterday afternoon into the evening with
- 4:39you and now you're heading into the morning with it.
- 4:42What are you going to do about it?
- 4:43And I just stopped because I asked myself the right question.
- 4:46What are you going to do about it?
- 4:48And I was like, you know, I'm going to laugh.
- 4:49I'm going to say, this is the lesson.
- 4:51And this is what this podcast is about.
- 4:53This is the lesson. Because I was continuing it and
- 4:55the spill of the drink was my indication.
- 4:58I was still in the same frame of mind, and I needed to get rid of
- 5:02it. So I'm sharing this with you so
- 5:05that you can all see your little clues, see your little towels,
- 5:08see the things that you know are happening, and then you can
- 5:11decide, OK, this is not how I want to show up.
- 5:14This is not who I want to be. This is not the way I want my
- 5:18day to go, my evening to go, whatever it might be, my week to
- 5:21go. And you can hit the pause button
- 5:23and regroup. So recording for you today, I'm
- 5:26hitting the pause button. And I promise you, this is the
- 5:30end of this state because now I'm laughing about it, feeling
- 5:34good about it, not rushing anymore.
- 5:37And all the things that I was so amped up about yesterday that
- 5:40had to get done in a short period of time, I was like,
- 5:43Nope, I'm scheduling them. They're on the calendar and I
- 5:46can let it go and I'm not going to stress about it.
- 5:49So I hope, my friends, that you learn from my stupidity.
- 5:53And I love this fact that I could even use the word
- 5:56stupidity and be honest with you about it because it was stupid.
- 5:59And once I did let it go, it felt so much better.
- 6:03It felt so, so much better. So I hope you all have a very,
- 6:07very blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow.
- 6:11Bye.
