- 0:28Speaker 3: Did you wake up looking like that?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Or I mean, we're sort of the same age and
- 0:33Speaker 2: I don't want to make us sound old, but it
- 0:36Speaker 2: doesn't come as naturally for me as it used to.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Smiley.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I did not wake up like this stalling. I woke
- 0:45Speaker 1: up with a bonnet on.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Hey.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Well, wonderful to see you. I'm sure you know Australia.
- 0:54Speaker 2: We have loved you for literally years.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:00Speaker 5: And I absolutely love Australia. I have the best time
- 1:04Speaker 5: every time I come to Australia.
- 1:05Speaker 4: It is a huge party.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we're gonna talk about the tour in just
- 1:09Speaker 2: a second. Let's officially roll the opener and get your own.
- 1:12Speaker 5: She's the R and B icon who's produced house Party Anthem.
- 1:16Speaker 1: When you look at me day, your mom, the one
- 1:26Speaker 1: and only.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Hey, hey this is a shan Sea doing a damn thing.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Now you are coming back in November, and we're going
- 1:32Speaker 2: to talk about that in just a second. But we
- 1:35Speaker 2: got so much to catch up on because I didn't
- 1:37Speaker 2: know you got married to Nelly and had a baby
- 1:40Speaker 2: and started a YouTube series.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Like you, you were so busy.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's a lot going on.
- 1:46Speaker 5: It's a lot going on, you know, mom, wife, career,
- 1:51Speaker 5: balancing all of that out. You know, it's it's a job,
- 1:54Speaker 5: but it's a beautiful job, you know, very blessed.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Say, let's flash back to like the early the early noughties, right,
- 2:00Speaker 2: It's crazy to think that we are literally almost the
- 2:02Speaker 2: same age, and I was watching you as a teen
- 2:06Speaker 2: or whatever and going, oh, this is so cool, and
- 2:08Speaker 2: you're literally like almost the same age living it. I
- 2:11Speaker 2: can't even begin to imagine what that would have been like.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Do you love it more now the older you get?
- 2:16Speaker 2: Because I look back on those days and I go,
- 2:19Speaker 2: I wish I was a bit more present in the
- 2:21Speaker 2: moment because stuff happened so quickly, and you don't appreciate
- 2:24Speaker 2: things sort of the way you do the older you get,
- 2:27Speaker 2: and it gives you a bit of perspective.
- 2:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I would definitely say I appreciate things way more now,
- 2:33Speaker 5: you know what I mean, Like just coming in and
- 2:35Speaker 5: you know, very very humbly gaining so much success.
- 2:39Speaker 1: It's kind of like, you know, when.
- 2:41Speaker 5: I first found out, like my numbers and all these
- 2:43Speaker 5: things are happening my first.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Album, I'm like, is this good?
- 2:47Speaker 5: Like are these numbers good?
- 2:48Speaker 4: I'm not sure what's happening here?
- 2:49Speaker 5: And then to find out all of the things that
- 2:51Speaker 5: we've done and accomplished was an amazing thing.
- 2:53Speaker 4: So I kind of started to appreciate.
- 2:56Speaker 6: It way more later, you know what I mean, Because
- 3:00Speaker 6: when you look at how much it's changed, and how
- 3:04Speaker 6: the technology has changed, and sonics have changed, and record
- 3:07Speaker 6: labels have changed, and the consumption of music has changed, you.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Know, it's very different, you know, So I absolutely appreciate it.
- 3:14Speaker 6: A lot more now.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I asked this to artists sometimes who have done both.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I call it like pre the internet and streaming and
- 3:21Speaker 2: post the Internet. Right, would you have loved to have
- 3:24Speaker 2: done it the way the industry is now? Or are
- 3:26Speaker 2: you grateful albeit there was like you know, look, let's
- 3:29Speaker 2: be honest, the industry had some dark. The industry has
- 3:31Speaker 2: had dark moments, right, Are you glad you did it then?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Or would you have loved to have a crack breaking now?
- 3:41Speaker 2: But then you kind of don't have. I'm sorry, I'm
- 3:43Speaker 2: answering your question for you, but like you don't have
- 3:46Speaker 2: an off switch now, they're always on social media.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Everything is always.
- 3:50Speaker 1: On, Everything is always on.
- 3:53Speaker 4: You know, I appreciate exactly what I have, you know
- 3:56Speaker 4: what I mean, Like coming up in a time where
- 3:59Speaker 4: there was Instagram and there wasn't you know what was
- 4:03Speaker 4: it Twitter?
- 4:03Speaker 5: In my all of that after and so me being
- 4:07Speaker 5: able to experience both and to compare both, I think
- 4:11Speaker 5: it's a blessing, you know what I mean. There are
- 4:13Speaker 5: a lot of things that I was doing years and
- 4:16Speaker 5: years and years ago before Instagram.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So I think it's just cool for me to be
- 4:21Speaker 1: in the position.
- 4:22Speaker 5: That I meant and kind of best of both worlds
- 4:25Speaker 5: being able to compare me.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I also, I also say this like to the kids
- 4:29Speaker 2: of today, right, And I don't mean that like like facetiously,
- 4:32Speaker 2: but to the kids, I'm like, for you to have
- 4:34Speaker 2: been like a famous pop star artist in the early
- 4:40Speaker 2: like late nineties, early noughties, it required a whole different
- 4:44Speaker 2: level of your music having to connect. Right. So like
- 4:48Speaker 2: now instantaneously you can put out a song and you
- 4:50Speaker 2: could go straight to number one and everyone's interconnected. But
- 4:53Speaker 2: like back in the day, like to sell shows out
- 4:56Speaker 2: in Australia, you'd have to have your song being played.
- 5:00Speaker 2: People would be having to physically go to the shops
- 5:01Speaker 2: to buy the record. Fans would wake up at like
- 5:05Speaker 2: seven eighty six am in the morning and line up
- 5:07Speaker 2: at like a ticket master or whatever to buy tickets
- 5:10Speaker 2: to get front row at the show. None of this
- 5:12Speaker 2: is doing it at home. I actually think it was.
- 5:15Speaker 2: It was harder to be famous twenty years ago than
- 5:19Speaker 2: it is to be famous today.
- 5:20Speaker 5: Well, absolutely absolutely, from touring to merge to like you said,
- 5:25Speaker 5: standing online.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And doing in stores and going to the radio stations.
- 5:29Speaker 5: You had to physically travel to all the radio stations
- 5:32Speaker 5: in that city.
- 5:33Speaker 1: If you were performing like it was a lot to do.
- 5:36Speaker 1: It's a lot harder.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Well, you are coming back to Australia. Tell me you're
- 5:40Speaker 2: going to be playing shows in November. How excited are you?
- 5:42Speaker 1: I am so excited. As I said, I love Australia.
- 5:46Speaker 5: You know, the love is insane just being you know,
- 5:48Speaker 5: an American artist. Being from the US traveling outside, it
- 5:53Speaker 5: always feels like you get so much more love because
- 5:56Speaker 5: not everyone travels so much.
- 5:58Speaker 1: So you do get there, it's like the love was like, ah,
- 6:02Speaker 1: you know, it's crazy, So I love it.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I mean, you've been here before.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Is there anything you remember or you're looking forward to
- 6:06Speaker 2: doing in Australia.
- 6:08Speaker 5: I love the seafood, I absolutely love. I think my
- 6:11Speaker 5: favorite restaurant was in Sydney. It's like on a pier
- 6:15Speaker 5: or something. It's like two two of my favorite restaurant.
- 6:18Speaker 5: I love gold Calls, I love Bandai Beach. The Opera
- 6:22Speaker 5: House is amazing.
- 6:24Speaker 4: And it was always great weather.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You know, every time I come to Australia the weather
- 6:28Speaker 1: is awesome.
- 6:28Speaker 3: So yeah. And also we're lovely people. You forgot that part.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Your lovely people, Darling, You're lovely people.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I love that. Hey.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I say we started this by saying you have the
- 6:38Speaker 2: YouTube thing with you and Nelly, Right, it's actually.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Not a YouTube thing. We have a show on Peacock NBC.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Oh you can catch some of it on YouTube.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:47Speaker 1: The show is on NBC Peacock.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Oh, okay, So we don't have Peacock here in Australia.
- 6:51Speaker 2: So they we're still we're still a long way from everywhere,
- 6:54Speaker 2: don't you are. Nothing's changed here in Australia. We still
- 6:57Speaker 2: don't have everything. Okay, okay. Is it like for people
- 7:01Speaker 2: who haven't seen Is it like documentary? Is it like
- 7:03Speaker 2: flying on the wall? What does it cover off?
- 7:05Speaker 1: It covers off a little bit of everything.
- 7:07Speaker 5: You know. It's called We Belong to Together, and it's
- 7:10Speaker 5: basically us just sharing our lives with our fans, you
- 7:13Speaker 5: know what I mean, just as a married couple and
- 7:16Speaker 5: two stars, raising a two year old toddler and balancing
- 7:20Speaker 5: love and career and all the stuff in between, you
- 7:23Speaker 5: know what I mean.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And it's awesome. It's been amazing. The reaction has been incredible.
- 7:29Speaker 1: It comes on.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Let me see seven Bravo.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Hello, I love that you've got someone there with you,
- 7:36Speaker 2: seven Bravo here in Australia. Okay, there we go. Now
- 7:39Speaker 2: that's where we can see it. Okay, So all right,
- 7:41Speaker 2: so it covers off everything we do. We have fights
- 7:45Speaker 2: in it were what sort of couple are we? Do
- 7:47Speaker 2: we do we air the dirty laundry or do we.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Keep that stuff?
- 7:51Speaker 1: You find out?
- 7:53Speaker 2: Okay, okay, okay, okay, all right, oh okay, cool? But
- 7:57Speaker 2: also please I want to know, like how celebrity are
- 8:00Speaker 2: you too, Like do you not know how the kitchen works?

- 8:15Speaker 2: I don't know, Like, are you going to bring the
- 8:17Speaker 2: cameras along? Is the baby is now that you get
- 8:19Speaker 2: everyone going to come through? It's a long way to
- 8:21Speaker 2: be away from the family.
- 8:24Speaker 5: Definitely a long way to be away from the family.
- 8:26Speaker 5: So KK will definitely be with me. We are actually
- 8:29Speaker 5: on the hunt to find Bluey because I heard Bluey
- 8:33Speaker 5: is the main headquarters is in Australia.
- 8:36Speaker 4: This is the hunt.
- 8:37Speaker 2: This is wild that you just mentioned Bluey, Like this
- 8:41Speaker 2: is this is Does your baby love.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Blue loves Bluey? Yes, so we are on hunts.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Do you have any understanding about anything that's happening in
- 8:50Speaker 2: that show or are you just watching it?
- 8:51Speaker 3: Going why are these dogs talking? Like this is so weird?
