- 0:22Speaker 1: Beard Law number nine. Sometimes the carpet outshines the drapes.
- 0:26Speaker 1: What's up, ladies and gentlemen. This is Matt at Beard
- 0:29Speaker 1: Laws Podcast. I appreciate the hell are you coming back?
- 0:32Speaker 1: I really do. It's episode nine. Seems like it was
- 0:34Speaker 1: just yesterday we were doing episode one. This episode, I'm
- 0:37Speaker 1: trying to keep a little bit shorter. I've had some
- 0:39Speaker 1: feedback from some of the listeners that they're enjoying a
- 0:42Speaker 1: little bit of the shorter podcast, so we're going to
- 0:44Speaker 1: try to keep this short and sweet. I'd like to
- 0:46Speaker 1: wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving, and here beard Laws, I
- 0:50Speaker 1: want to give you bearded men a couple of tips.
- 0:53Speaker 1: You should already know. But there there's a lot to Thanksgiving,
- 0:56Speaker 1: not only the cooking, the cleaning, the hanging out sometimes
- 1:00Speaker 1: with family that kind of annoys you. You know who
- 1:03Speaker 1: you are, we all have that person. But getting Thanksgiving
- 1:06Speaker 1: dinner all over that beautiful beard. There's a couple of
- 1:08Speaker 1: ways you can do it. You can obviously pull it back.
- 1:11Speaker 1: You can put your beard in a hair tie. People
- 1:13Speaker 1: are gonna have a good laugh, but hey, last laughs
- 1:16Speaker 1: on them because you're not having a leftovers in your beard,
- 1:18Speaker 1: or you can go with the napkin approach. This is
- 1:21Speaker 1: what I usually do pretty much every time I take
- 1:23Speaker 1: a bite or take a drink, most of the time
- 1:26Speaker 1: clean up duty. So take a couple of napkins, get
- 1:28Speaker 1: yourself a nice cloth napkin. Hell, bring your own napkin.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Maybe we can get some beard Laws official napkins. Not
- 1:35Speaker 1: gonna happen for Thanksgiffing, but maybe Christmas is right around
- 1:38Speaker 1: the corner. Just take smaller bites, use your fork, use
- 1:40Speaker 1: your spoon, don't be an animal out there, and the
- 1:43Speaker 1: Beard's gonna be all right. And if you find a
- 1:45Speaker 1: little bit of uh stuffing turkey or potatoes or some
- 1:49Speaker 1: kind of vegetable or even some dessert in there a
- 1:52Speaker 1: little later, that's just a win on your part. Speaking
- 1:55Speaker 1: of Christmas, just mention that keep a lookout on beardlaws
- 1:58Speaker 1: dot com. I'm gonna have some spe se edition stuff
- 2:01Speaker 1: have it in the works for merchandise for stuff that
- 2:04Speaker 1: would make phenomenal Christmas presents. Also potentially going to be
- 2:08Speaker 1: partnering up with a couple of oil companies, so you
- 2:12Speaker 1: could go to beardlus dot com, use some hand selected
- 2:15Speaker 1: oils that I'm a fan of, and potentially get them
- 2:18Speaker 1: for a little bit cheaper, little update, have the new
- 2:21Speaker 1: roof on the studio, have a couple of walls already
- 2:24Speaker 1: on the studio. Going to be putting the floor down
- 2:27Speaker 1: here pretty soon. Going to try to keep chipping away,
- 2:30Speaker 1: so hopefully we can get into the new studio, do
- 2:32Speaker 1: some recording, and I can kind of do a YouTube
- 2:35Speaker 1: video and some other things to show that bad boy off.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Also on YouTube, I'm going to start doing some reviews.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Can be doing some reviews for oil butters, whatever else.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I have a couple of companies that have some stuff
- 2:47Speaker 1: that are on their way. Once we get them in,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm going to talk about it, not only on the podcast,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but I will do some reviews on the YouTube. I'd
- 2:56Speaker 1: like to know what your favorite part of Thanksgiving is?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Is it the family? Is it the drinks? Is it
- 3:01Speaker 1: the desserts? Is it the turkey? Is it the potatoes?
- 3:04Speaker 1: Is it the stuffing? Does your mom, does your grandma?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Does somebody in your life make the most amazing you
- 3:11Speaker 1: know what I mean? I'd like to hear hit us
- 3:13Speaker 1: up on social media or shoot me an email. On
- 3:15Speaker 1: the next episode, I'll take whatever email or comments that
- 3:18Speaker 1: you have on what your favorite part of Thanksgiving is
- 3:21Speaker 1: what the best part? Who makes the best Well, whatever
- 3:24Speaker 1: it is, We'll do a little section and I will
- 3:27Speaker 1: quote your comment and maybe you guys can even call
- 3:30Speaker 1: in and talk about it. That'd be cool, right. We've
- 3:33Speaker 1: got some new technology coming here to beard Laws, but
- 3:35Speaker 1: we got to get the studio bill. So if anybody
- 3:37Speaker 1: wants to come help build the studio, you guys are more
- 3:39Speaker 1: and welcome. Hit me up. We'll let you know where
- 3:41Speaker 1: I live. I'll let you know what days we're working.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. You don't have to, but no, really,
- 3:45Speaker 1: if you want to, that's cool. So for the hidden question,
- 3:48Speaker 1: what's the hidden question? This hidden question is going to
- 3:51Speaker 1: be in every episode coming up. Or I simply ask
- 3:54Speaker 1: you a question, you answer the question by emailing myself
- 3:58Speaker 1: Matt at Beardloss dot com atbeard looss dot com. Then
- 4:02Speaker 1: we take all of the correct answers or responses and
- 4:05Speaker 1: you're entered to win a prize of our choosing. It
- 4:09Speaker 1: could be anything cool. It could be a hat, it
- 4:10Speaker 1: could be a shirt, could be a sticker, could be
- 4:13Speaker 1: a dog turd you'll never know, could be a drawing
- 4:15Speaker 1: that Logan did on a quick draw ticket, you never know.
- 4:18Speaker 1: But either way, they'll be entered to win. So the
- 4:19Speaker 1: hidden question in this episode is what is Matt's favorite
- 4:24Speaker 1: food on Thanksgiving? My favorite food on Thanksgiving without a doubt,
- 4:29Speaker 1: is the turkey. I love the meats. What can I say?
- 4:32Speaker 1: A lot of people these days are deep frying the turkey. Nah,
- 4:35Speaker 1: not a fan. I don't mind it. Traditional, Get that
- 4:38Speaker 1: in the oven. Let that baby slow cook all day,
- 4:40Speaker 1: get that extra crispy skin, keep it old school. That's
- 4:44Speaker 1: the way that I like it. Close second is a
- 4:48Speaker 1: smoke turkey. Love smoke meat, especially if it's done properly.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So that's it. Or what is Matt's favorite food for Thanksgiving?
- 4:55Speaker 1: It's that turkey. So video games have kind of always
- 4:58Speaker 1: been a little bit of a part of my my life.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It's not something that I grew up playing, but as
- 5:03Speaker 1: I got a little bit older and technology got a
- 5:05Speaker 1: little bit better and my parents got a little more money,
- 5:07Speaker 1: started doing some console game and well, these days gaming
- 5:11Speaker 1: is kind of more and more into my life. Mess
- 5:13Speaker 1: some great friends, some great connection. Shout out to my
- 5:16Speaker 1: ADK crew who I'm hoping to have a couple of
- 5:18Speaker 1: the guys on a podcast coming up pretty soon. Big
- 5:21Speaker 1: platform not only that I use, but several major gamers
- 5:26Speaker 1: use is Twitch. So if you're on Twitch, go give
- 5:28Speaker 1: me a follow. Twitch dot Tv, slash Official beard Laws.
- 5:32Speaker 1: You can check out my live streams. You can check
- 5:33Speaker 1: out the games I play, you can check out the
- 5:35Speaker 1: people that I chat with in the discord, and you
- 5:37Speaker 1: can also check out my esports team. I am now
- 5:40Speaker 1: officially the owner of djent Esports. You can check us
- 5:44Speaker 1: out online. You can check us out. There's a discord.
- 5:47Speaker 1: We have a lot of exciting stuff. Previously have been
- 5:50Speaker 1: an organization that is solely focused on esports, playing of
- 5:56Speaker 1: mobile games, so Brawl Stars, Call of Duty. We're going
- 6:00Speaker 1: to obviously continue that. So if you are looking to
- 6:03Speaker 1: sponsor the team, Matt atbeard laws dot com. If you're
- 6:06Speaker 1: looking to acquire how to be a part of the team,
- 6:09Speaker 1: whether a pro player or just be a part of
- 6:11Speaker 1: the discord, message me on Twitch or just use the
- 6:15Speaker 1: email that I just said and I can send you
- 6:17Speaker 1: a link and we can get you in there. It's
- 6:19Speaker 1: up and coming. We've been around about a month. I
- 6:22Speaker 1: have taken over the original owner decided to step down,
- 6:27Speaker 1: focus on their life a little bit, pursue a different job,
- 6:30Speaker 1: pursue a different contract, stuff like that. So I decided
- 6:34Speaker 1: instead of having this go away and just kind of
- 6:37Speaker 1: die off, to take it over. We have a great
- 6:39Speaker 1: management team, we have some great people in the organization already,
- 6:43Speaker 1: so we're going to have some people shuffle around. I'm
- 6:46Speaker 1: going to throw some ideas out. If you have some ideas,
- 6:48Speaker 1: let me know. I'd like to expand to a different
- 6:50Speaker 1: game potentially. So a lot of exciting stuff, great merchandise.
- 6:54Speaker 1: So if you're looking to sponsor, if you're a gamer
- 6:57Speaker 1: looking to currently focus on Call of Duty Mobile or
- 7:00Speaker 1: Brawl Stars, definitely hit us up. But keep an eye
- 7:03Speaker 1: out because we have some exciting stuff coming and we
- 7:05Speaker 1: have some new members that we're going to bring in
- 7:07Speaker 1: potentially a new game. A lot of excitement, a lot
- 7:09Speaker 1: of cool things going on. Sodjent Esports, pretty exciting stuff.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Never in my entire life would I think that I'd
- 7:16Speaker 1: be an owner of an esports team. Pretty wild, pretty awesome,
- 7:20Speaker 1: loving it, And of course Beard Laws is going to
- 7:23Speaker 1: be a part of it. Portion of the proceeds from
- 7:25Speaker 1: the Djen Esports is going to kick over to the
- 7:29Speaker 1: Beard Laws and all that cool stuff. But we can
- 7:31Speaker 1: talk about that a later time. Black Friday. Black Friday
- 7:35Speaker 1: is pretty much upon us. Look out for deals all
- 7:37Speaker 1: sorts of electronics. If you are confused, you're not great
- 7:40Speaker 1: with tech stuff, hit me up. I have a pretty
- 7:42Speaker 1: decent understanding. If I don't know, I have some friends
- 7:44Speaker 1: that have a very good understanding. I'd hate for you
- 7:46Speaker 1: guys to go out spend a bunch of money on
- 7:48Speaker 1: something that is junk or just because it's on sale
- 7:52Speaker 1: that you think it's good. I can help you guys
- 7:54Speaker 1: find a deal, and anybody that's looking for merch let
- 7:57Speaker 1: me know. Recently, I teamed up with Jecks, who is
- 8:00Speaker 1: also a Twitch streamer and just an amazing person Twitch
- 8:04Speaker 1: dot tv. Slash Jackslyne created a page for herbeard laws
- 8:08Speaker 1: dot com slash jacksline with all her merchandise. So if
- 8:11Speaker 1: you are a fan of Jackslyne, make sure that you'd
- 8:13Speaker 1: go over hits. A merch portion of the profits obviously
- 8:18Speaker 1: go right to her, and a little bit it's going
- 8:19Speaker 1: to go to Beer Laws, which is going to help
- 8:22Speaker 1: out the cause. I know there's a couple of Black
- 8:25Speaker 1: Friday deals currently for games as well. I know Xbox
- 8:29Speaker 1: you can get the Beta trial for a dollar, which
- 8:32Speaker 1: allows you to access games that can be downloaded on PC,
- 8:35Speaker 1: like ce If, Thieves, and Overwatch. So if you're looking
- 8:39Speaker 1: to check out any of those games, now might be
- 8:40Speaker 1: the time, really cheap to get them. Try them out.
- 8:43Speaker 1: If you like them, you can continue to pay. If
- 8:45Speaker 1: you don't, then you're not out anything. GTA five is
- 8:48Speaker 1: on sale through Steam fourteen ninety nine. Pretty crazy. Read
- 8:52Speaker 1: an article this morning that Valve actually pulled about one
- 8:55Speaker 1: thousand games if not more, through Steam, which is one
- 8:58Speaker 1: of the most popular avenues to download games, So it's
- 9:04Speaker 1: pretty wild. I didn't get a chance to read through
- 9:06Speaker 1: it all to see exactly what was going on, but
- 9:09Speaker 1: I guess there was kind of breach in policy or
- 9:13Speaker 1: people weren't following the guidelines. So google it. If you
- 9:17Speaker 1: want more, google it. I'll I'll find a couple of links.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I'll throw them on beard laws dot com slash podcast
- 9:23Speaker 1: where I post all the links to everything. But yeah,
- 9:26Speaker 1: if there's a game or there's something you're looking for,
- 9:29Speaker 1: now is the time to find those deals. I'm gonna
- 9:31Speaker 1: transition into some sports chat, just a quick little brief
- 9:35Speaker 1: sports chat. I know with the holidays and work schedule
- 9:39Speaker 1: that Logan has going on, I don't think he's gonna
- 9:42Speaker 1: be able to get in on this episode. But episode ten,
- 9:44Speaker 1: we're gonna do it big. I'm gonna push hard. He
- 9:47Speaker 1: really wants to and talk to him the other night
- 9:49Speaker 1: he does feel bad. So if you guys, miss logan,
- 9:52Speaker 1: what I really need you to do? Show him some
- 9:54Speaker 1: love Logan at beard laws dot com. Hit him up
- 9:57Speaker 1: all sorts of love, or bust his balls, be like,
- 9:59Speaker 1: where what have you been? Have fun with it. I'll
- 10:02Speaker 1: make them actually check the email. I'm not sure if
- 10:04Speaker 1: he even knows what email is or how to use it.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I set it up a little bit ago. I feel
- 10:08Speaker 1: like he should. But if not, guys, spam his inbox.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Not actual spam like all you bots and all that shit,
- 10:16Speaker 1: but just spam them with you know, jokes, busting his balls,
- 10:19Speaker 1: all sorts of stuff like that. So, as we mentioned,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I think in the in the prior episode baseball it's offseason.
- 10:27Speaker 1: You don't hear as much of it because football is
- 10:28Speaker 1: ramping up, College basketball is coming up, NHL's in full swing,
- 10:32Speaker 1: so you're not hearing a lot of stuff about baseball.
- 10:36Speaker 1: But the Astros Red Sox cheaters. But if you're not cheating,
- 10:39Speaker 1: you're not trying. The investigation is still in our way.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I haven't heard anything official. When that does, we'll cover it. Astros,
- 10:46Speaker 1: red Sox cheaters, Yankee suck, Fuck the Yankees. Sorry if
- 10:50Speaker 1: you're a Yankees fan. Pirates, my poor poor pirates. Great
- 10:54Speaker 1: new GM. I'm excited. Let's see how the rest of
- 10:56Speaker 1: the pieces kind of fall in place. Let's go buckos.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I know there's stocks of Marte and potential bell pretty much.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Anybody's up for trades. I'd like to see Archer go.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Nothing against you, just hasn't been a great fit. Hopefully
- 11:08Speaker 1: we can get something for that. But yeah, a little baseball.
- 11:11Speaker 1: We're a little ways away from that spring training many months.
- 11:14Speaker 1: But when baseball starts coming back, the weather starts turning
- 11:17Speaker 1: here gets me all pumped up. Hockey. Hockey's in full swing.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Calgary's Calgary's coach is being looked into for allegations of racism.
- 11:28Speaker 1: We'll see how that shakes out. Hopefully he is dumb
- 11:31Speaker 1: enough to be racist to make racist re marks. Hopefully
- 11:35Speaker 1: he gets what's coming to him, whether it be a
- 11:37Speaker 1: fine or a suspension or fired. NHL Power rankings the
- 11:41Speaker 1: one through thirty one pole they are out Islanders one,
- 11:44Speaker 1: Boston two, Washington three, Saint Louis four, Edmonton five, Carolina six,
- 11:50Speaker 1: Dallas seven, Arizona eight, Florida nine, Winnipeg ten, Colorado eleven.
- 11:56Speaker 1: My Penguins come in at twelve. Twelve doesn't tear considering
- 12:00Speaker 1: they played most of the beginning of the season without Melkin.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Now Crosby's out for a while and they're still playing
- 12:06Speaker 1: all right. I mean, they put up big numbers versus Toronto,
- 12:08Speaker 1: a couple wins here, lost here or there, but overall,
- 12:11Speaker 1: twelve not too terrible. You want to see the rest
- 12:13Speaker 1: of the power rankings, check them out on ABC seven
- 12:17Speaker 1: dot com. Last night, in NCAA basketball, there was a
- 12:20Speaker 1: couple of crazy games I was watching. There wasn't a
- 12:22Speaker 1: lot of action, but the action that was played was
- 12:25Speaker 1: pretty awesome. Stephen F. Austin took down the number one
- 12:29Speaker 1: Dukies in overtime. It seemed like any time Duke would
- 12:33Speaker 1: make a run, they'd go up six eight, Steven F.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Austin would chip away, they'd grind, they'd shut him down,
- 12:38Speaker 1: they'd be down two. Duke would make another run, up
- 12:41Speaker 1: six eight, they'd cut it to two or three, and
- 12:43Speaker 1: then finally they take the lead, Duke comes back, back
- 12:46Speaker 1: and forth, back and forth, overtime hits, and just the
- 12:48Speaker 1: more experienced Steven F. Austin team into Cameron took down
- 12:53Speaker 1: the number one team. Man. That's got to be a
- 12:55Speaker 1: good feeling for them. Not going to be a great
- 12:57Speaker 1: thank Skimven for the Dukies, doesn't break my mind. Get
- 13:00Speaker 1: them on them stairs, get them playing. Unfortunately, loss like
- 13:03Speaker 1: that is only going to probably make them better. In
- 13:06Speaker 1: Michigan State, the number three team in the country also
- 13:09Speaker 1: went down crazy. Very good for college basketball in my opinion,
- 13:13Speaker 1: when these smaller schools can come in not only take
- 13:16Speaker 1: them down, but take them down in their home court.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Over the last couple of years, even in the NCAA tournaments,
- 13:21Speaker 1: you're seeing these smaller programs making runs, you know, Sweet sixteen,
- 13:26Speaker 1: Final four. It's just a great thing for basketball. It's
- 13:29Speaker 1: a great thing for those schools getting extra recruits, and
- 13:32Speaker 1: it just shows the programs that get the kids in
- 13:35Speaker 1: that are going to stay three four years, buy into
- 13:37Speaker 1: the program by the time they're in their junior season,
- 13:41Speaker 1: junior or senior season. Teamwork is just phenomenal. They gel
- 13:46Speaker 1: where you're getting a lot of these one and done
- 13:49Speaker 1: players who are just extreme athletes. You got nothing against it,
- 13:53Speaker 1: but my I really think that the NBA needs to say,
- 13:56Speaker 1: you know what, how they're good enough to leave high school,
- 13:59Speaker 1: like Kevin Garnett, let them go. Why make a college
- 14:03Speaker 1: program have this one and done for one year? Maybe
- 14:06Speaker 1: it hurts the game a little bit because you're not
- 14:08Speaker 1: getting these stars, but nothing's guaranteed in life, and what
- 14:12Speaker 1: is guaranteed. If these guys are that good, let them
- 14:15Speaker 1: go to college. Let them make those millions, Let them
- 14:17Speaker 1: pursue their career, you know, and something that they love,
- 14:20Speaker 1: instead of potentially coming into a college program having their
- 14:24Speaker 1: stock hurt because maybe they end up terrible, maybe they
- 14:27Speaker 1: get hurt, whatever it is. I think that they should
- 14:30Speaker 1: just let them go like it used to be. But
- 14:32Speaker 1: either way, it's fun to see these guys in the
- 14:34Speaker 1: college atmosphere playing at a high level. But it's got
- 14:37Speaker 1: to be tough for these coaches to get all of
- 14:40Speaker 1: these amazing athletes like Duku are getting top five recruit
- 14:43Speaker 1: at every position every year. A lot of them stay
- 14:45Speaker 1: for one year, so you're constantly trying to get these
- 14:48Speaker 1: kids to gel Man. It would be it would be
- 14:51Speaker 1: just absolutely amazing to be able to work even for
- 14:54Speaker 1: an organization a quarter an eighth as cool as a
- 14:57Speaker 1: powerhouse like that. Hell, it'd be awesome just even coaching
- 15:00Speaker 1: at the D three level, you know what I mean?
- 15:02Speaker 1: But yeah, big news in NCAA basketball, a couple of
- 15:06Speaker 1: good games coming up this week. A slide over to
- 15:08Speaker 1: college football. Top four rankings are out. Ohio State jumped
- 15:12Speaker 1: LSU at one. Obviously, LSU at two, Clemson three, Georgia four.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Not a lot of shakeup, but it was a surprising
- 15:18Speaker 1: move with LSU not losing in Ohio State jumping over them.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I'm not sure the NCAA Football Committee knows what the
- 15:25Speaker 1: hell they're doing. It's nice that there's a playoffs. It's
- 15:28Speaker 1: nice it's been going on for a couple of years,
- 15:29Speaker 1: but it needs to be fixed. Add more teams, cut
- 15:33Speaker 1: down some of those beginning games where unfortunately some of
- 15:36Speaker 1: these small programs at college football just don't have a
- 15:39Speaker 1: chance against these powerhouses. It's much different in football than
- 15:42Speaker 1: in is basketball. We could debate this all night. We're
- 15:45Speaker 1: not going to viewers. They're loving the shorter episodes. So
- 15:48Speaker 1: that's the top four rankings. If your teams are on
- 15:51Speaker 1: the outskirts, best of luck to them. Hopefully a couple
- 15:53Speaker 1: of these teams lose. Never know, there's some big games
- 15:55Speaker 1: coming up, conference championships coming up. We'll see how it
- 15:58Speaker 1: shakes out. Now it's time for the NFL, a league
- 16:03Speaker 1: that viewers and viewership is up. But I just have
- 16:07Speaker 1: a very very struggle sitting through watching a lot of
- 16:11Speaker 1: these games as of late because of all the replays,
- 16:15Speaker 1: all the off field drama. Seems like people are more
- 16:18Speaker 1: into the drama side sometimes of football. Bad publicity still publicity.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I guess Lamar Jackson absolute beast sucks he's on Baltimore.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Since I'm a Pittsburgh fan, guy's amazing to watch a
- 16:30Speaker 1: lot of people hyping them up rightfully. So hopefully for
- 16:34Speaker 1: his safe he stays healthy. And I've just heard so
- 16:37Speaker 1: many podcast episodes and so many people talking football on
- 16:41Speaker 1: how this guy's the greatest, he's always going to be
- 16:44Speaker 1: the greatest, and you know, the whole Well, if he
- 16:46Speaker 1: stays healthy in this and that. But on the one
- 16:48Speaker 1: of the most intelligent points that I personally think was
- 16:53Speaker 1: made with Tony Dungee on the Pat McAfee show when
- 16:55Speaker 1: he kind of said, what's going to happen is what's
- 16:58Speaker 1: going to kind of happen with that happened with our three.
- 17:00Speaker 1: The NFL teams will go and speak with college programs,
- 17:05Speaker 1: the powerhouses that Alabama's, the Clemsons, Ohio States, everything, and
- 17:08Speaker 1: these NFL guys coordinators, defensive coordinators will come in and say, hey,
- 17:13Speaker 1: how do you defend against this option? How do you
- 17:15Speaker 1: defend against this? And then they're going to be able
- 17:18Speaker 1: to adapt, come up with some new defensive schemes to
- 17:22Speaker 1: actually counter what Baltimore's doing, because what Baltimore's doing is
- 17:26Speaker 1: kind of like the wildcat. It's something so new that
- 17:29Speaker 1: a lot of these teams don't know what the hell
- 17:30Speaker 1: to do. Give him an off season, give him two
- 17:33Speaker 1: off seasons. Maybe they'll figure it out, maybe they won't.
- 17:35Speaker 1: The guy's amazing. He's got to chip on his shoulder
- 17:38Speaker 1: seeing so many other quarterbacks get drafted above them. But
- 17:41Speaker 1: one thing that I always thought was why not get
- 17:44Speaker 1: drafted a little later. Yes, you're not going to get
- 17:46Speaker 1: that good money, you're not going to get as much
- 17:48Speaker 1: money out the gate, but you're going to get a
- 17:51Speaker 1: chance to play for a better organization. The later you go,
- 17:54Speaker 1: maybe you've got to sit out of here. But when
- 17:55Speaker 1: it's your time, you're in a great, established organization. He
- 17:59Speaker 1: felt Baltimore, the whole Flacco thing didn't work out. Obviously
- 18:04Speaker 1: didn't even really work out in Denver for him. But
- 18:06Speaker 1: he's playing for a team that has been good is
- 18:09Speaker 1: probably always going to be good in the foreseeable future.
- 18:12Speaker 1: He's got a great line, he's got a great defense,
- 18:14Speaker 1: he's got running backs, he's got weapons. Where if you're
- 18:17Speaker 1: a first overall, you're getting drafted first overall for a reason.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You're on a terrible team that's gonna take years and
- 18:22Speaker 1: years and years. You can take a Tom Brady and
- 18:25Speaker 1: throw him on a Giants, throw him on an Arizona.
- 18:29Speaker 1: He's not gonna have any luck. He doesn't have a line,
- 18:31Speaker 1: he doesn't have weapons. These these young guys come in
- 18:34Speaker 1: and they can kind of get shit on, like, oh
- 18:36Speaker 1: he was a number one pick, what a fla if
- 18:37Speaker 1: he didn't do shit? It's tough. Maybe it is because
- 18:40Speaker 1: they don't adapt to the program. Maybe it's just because
- 18:43Speaker 1: they need years to figure it out, and some of
- 18:45Speaker 1: them do, some of them don't. Mar Jackson absolute beasts, unbelievable.
- 18:49Speaker 1: He's gonna have a hell of a rating in Madden.
- 18:52Speaker 1: But here are my Thanksgiving predictions. Three games as always,
- 18:56Speaker 1: so amazing to be able to sit around watch football,
- 19:00Speaker 1: drink beer, eat amazing food. How can you not like Thanksgiving?
- 19:03Speaker 1: All right, here's my predictions. Chicago minus three. I think
- 19:06Speaker 1: they're gonna take them down. I know they never say,
- 19:09Speaker 1: they always say, don't bet against the Lions, don't bet
- 19:12Speaker 1: against the Cowboys. Yeahda YadA, Yeah, I'm doing it. I'm
- 19:14Speaker 1: doing it both. Chicago minus three. I think they're playing
- 19:17Speaker 1: a little bit better. I think the Lions just are terrible.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Buffalo plus seven. I think seven's a lot.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I think the Bills defense is great. Dallas, Yes, it's Thanksgiving. Yes,
- 19:29Speaker 1: Jerry Jones getting flustered. Maybe the team rallies around, they
- 19:33Speaker 1: get a win. But I think Buffalo is good enough
- 19:35Speaker 1: to keep it close. Seven points a lot of points.
- 19:37Speaker 1: So I'm gonna take Buffalo plus seven, and I'm gonna
- 19:40Speaker 1: go New Orleans and minus seven. They got demolished at
- 19:43Speaker 1: home VERSU Atlanta a couple of weeks ago. I think
- 19:46Speaker 1: they're gonna come in. I think they're just gonna absolutely
- 19:49Speaker 1: steamroll the Falcons on Thanksgiving. You're gonna watch Drew Brees
- 19:53Speaker 1: or one of those guys get that turkey leg if
- 19:55Speaker 1: they still do that. But yeah, those are my predictions.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Chicago minus three, Buffalo plus seven, say Flip minus seven.
- 20:01Speaker 1: That's going to wrap up Sports winner, and colder weather
- 20:06Speaker 1: is about to hit most of us. I don't know
- 20:08Speaker 1: about you, but that means more game nights. One of
- 20:10Speaker 1: the newest and most fun games in the market right
- 20:12Speaker 1: now is a current game called Knock Knock. Unlike a
- 20:14Speaker 1: typical knock knock, this is no joke. What is knock Knock? Well,
- 20:18Speaker 1: it's a fast paced competitive game for friends if fuuture enemies.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Need to act fast to get cards out of your hand,
- 20:24Speaker 1: full your opponents and defend against other players. But pay
- 20:27Speaker 1: attention miss the slab speak when union or fail to
- 20:30Speaker 1: copy your opponent, and you will add more cards to
- 20:32Speaker 1: your hand. Be the first player to get rid of
- 20:34Speaker 1: all of the cards, and you will be named the winner.

- 21:16Speaker 1: So this is going to be the first time ever
- 21:18Speaker 1: in Beard Laws podcast history for the new segment What's
- 21:22Speaker 1: in My Beard. So this is going to be a
- 21:24Speaker 1: segment where myself, Logan or any of the other staff
- 21:27Speaker 1: members eat somewhere and we're going to talk about it.
- 21:29Speaker 1: If the people that work in the restaurant, whether it's
- 21:32Speaker 1: the employees, whether it's the manager, whether it's the cook,
- 21:35Speaker 1: whether it's the waitress, whether it's a bartender, whatever it
- 21:37Speaker 1: might be, if they want to interview and they want
- 21:39Speaker 1: to talk about anything they want to say, well interview them.
- 21:42Speaker 1: If not, we're going to give an honest feedback of
- 21:44Speaker 1: what we thought about the food for the first time.
- 21:46Speaker 1: For the first place somewhere that I ate differently with
- 21:50Speaker 1: my kiddo is Soul Waffle in Potsdam, New York on
- 21:54Speaker 1: fifty seven Market Street. So Waffle is a pretty cool concept.
- 21:57Speaker 1: It's a waffle place. Obviously, it's just unique, different kinds
- 22:02Speaker 1: of waffles. Some you'd expect. You got the classic, your
- 22:05Speaker 1: buttermilk chocolate. Then I had, you know, your Belgian waffles
- 22:09Speaker 1: with a little bit of twist, like a fluffer, nutter,
- 22:11Speaker 1: fruity pebbles, oreos reses, and then it's just got some
- 22:14Speaker 1: crazy stuff. My daughter went with the specialty waffle was
- 22:17Speaker 1: a unicorn waffle that I believe was a buttermilk waffle.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It had sprinkles, cotton candy, unicorn dust, whipped cream, a
- 22:25Speaker 1: unicorn horn. She said it was okay. She didn't really
- 22:29Speaker 1: like it. She's so used to homemade waffles, frozen waffles.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Maybe that's on me that the waffle itself was okay,
- 22:36Speaker 1: but it was just very very sweet for her, which
- 22:39Speaker 1: is unique because most kids, I feel would love it.
- 22:41Speaker 1: She didn't love it, but I went with I went
- 22:43Speaker 1: with the hash brown Scramble. I went did a half order.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I didn't know what to expect, but it was a
- 22:49Speaker 1: waffle that was actually scrambled eggs with hash brown spinach
- 22:54Speaker 1: and you know everything. It was obviously cooked on a
- 22:56Speaker 1: waffle iron with shredded cheese and tomatoes, and my daughter
- 23:01Speaker 1: absolutely loved it. So when she ended up eating most
- 23:04Speaker 1: of that, I suffered through the unicorn waffle. The food
- 23:06Speaker 1: was really good. I liked it. It wasn't a food
- 23:09Speaker 1: that was hard to eat with a beard. It didn't
- 23:11Speaker 1: get all in the beard. There wasn't just a huge mess.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Just so many options. You guys can check them out
- 23:16Speaker 1: at Soulwaffle dot com. They don't know I'm doing a review.
- 23:19Speaker 1: This is not a sponsorship, This is not a pay thing.
- 23:21Speaker 1: This is me wanting to give restaurants that maybe don't
- 23:26Speaker 1: get a lot of love an honest review. You know,
- 23:28Speaker 1: I go in, I will review them on Google Maps,
- 23:31Speaker 1: Google Review, I give honest reviews. It's just something that
- 23:34Speaker 1: I do. So I wanted to bring it to the podcast,
- 23:36Speaker 1: just another thing to add, maybe, like I said, potential interviews,
- 23:39Speaker 1: because sometimes people in the kitchen, people in a restaurant
- 23:42Speaker 1: business don't always get a say. It's not like they
- 23:44Speaker 1: can come out when you give a terrible review and
- 23:47Speaker 1: just be a complete asshole to you. They have to
- 23:49Speaker 1: remain calm, they have to remain proper polite. Maybe eventually
- 23:52Speaker 1: they can get on the podcast give their side of
- 23:54Speaker 1: the story. What happened there, Why was that review bad.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Was it just bullshit? Was it a bot? Was it
- 23:59Speaker 1: somebody that was just jealous of the idea something? You know,
- 24:03Speaker 1: Let's get their takes. So, if you own a restaurant
- 24:06Speaker 1: you want an honest review and you're somewhere near me,
- 24:08Speaker 1: shoot me an email Matt at beard laws dot com
- 24:10Speaker 1: or hit up Logan Logan at beard laws dot com.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Let us know, Hey, we want you to come there.
- 24:15Speaker 1: We want you to give an honest review, talk about it,
- 24:18Speaker 1: talk to us. That'd be absolutely amazing. So, guys, I
- 24:21Speaker 1: highly recommend Soulwaffle dot com. I know I'm going to
- 24:24Speaker 1: go back. There's so many different things that I want
- 24:26Speaker 1: to try. I mean, they got chicken waffles. The staff,
- 24:29Speaker 1: it was one lady that was working. She was very
- 24:32Speaker 1: nice to myself, she was very nice to my daughter.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Prices were good. I highly recommend, Like I said, Soul Waffle.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Can check them out online sowaffle dot com or you
- 24:40Speaker 1: can check them out on fifty seven Market Street, Potsdam,
- 24:43Speaker 1: New York. It is now time for beard news. As
- 24:46Speaker 1: mentioned in an earlier podcast, the National Beer Championship, which
- 24:50Speaker 1: took place in the Chicago area, was November eighth and ninth,
- 24:53Speaker 1: a lot of websites are now coming out with pictures
- 24:56Speaker 1: and reviews and articles from the competition, and I get
- 24:59Speaker 1: to tell you, these beards are absolutely amazing. That's coming
- 25:01Speaker 1: from a guy with a pretty nice beard himself. But
- 25:04Speaker 1: I'm not on that level. Someday I hope to be.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I'd love to take part in a competition. I'd actually
- 25:09Speaker 1: love to interview some of these bearded dudes to kind
- 25:12Speaker 1: of talk about their experience. I'm going to do some
- 25:14Speaker 1: research on some of the winners. See if I can
- 25:16Speaker 1: hit him up on social media, try to get him
- 25:17Speaker 1: on the podcast, or if anybody out there is listening
- 25:20Speaker 1: and know somebody that has partake, shoot me up, shoot
- 25:22Speaker 1: me a message. Matt at beard laws dot com love
- 25:24Speaker 1: to get in touch with them. So I'm going to
- 25:27Speaker 1: link the article from seeinget dot com that has I
- 25:30Speaker 1: think forty or fifty pictures. You guys can see them,
- 25:32Speaker 1: so check them out over at beard laws dot com.
- 25:35Speaker 1: There was over fifty categories, which is prettty crazy. I mean,
- 25:39Speaker 1: just to name a few, just in the mustache part,
- 25:41Speaker 1: you had your natural mustache, your styled handlebar mustache, your
- 25:46Speaker 1: English mustache, which is a narrow, slender mustache, with the
- 25:49Speaker 1: hairs extended outward from the middle of the upper lip.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Then you had the Dolly mustache, and then a freestyle
- 25:55Speaker 1: where you see all the crazy stuff. Thirty bucks to
- 25:57Speaker 1: get into this. Then you had your partial beards, one
- 26:00Speaker 1: of them, you know, from your goates to your fu manchues,
- 26:02Speaker 1: to your musketeers, to your whalers, to you know, all
- 26:05Speaker 1: sorts of freestyle. Then you had the full beards by
- 26:08Speaker 1: length you know what I mean in the freestyle of course.
- 26:10Speaker 1: And then you had Craft, which is for the ladies,
- 26:13Speaker 1: so they could come in, you know, they could make
- 26:15Speaker 1: their own beards. I believe it was just for ladies.
- 26:18Speaker 1: If it wasn't just for ladies, I do apologize, but
- 26:20Speaker 1: there was a bunch of craft ones as well. Fairly
- 26:23Speaker 1: certain anyways that it was for that. But one thing
- 26:26Speaker 1: that I thought was really cool is that they had
- 26:28Speaker 1: some exhibition categories for people that you know, didn't have
- 26:32Speaker 1: to go against some of the best beards in the nation.
- 26:35Speaker 1: A couple of the categories were the Brewer's Beard, which
- 26:38Speaker 1: is a beard grown by a beer maker. That's pretty amazing.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Hence it was hosted by a brewery. Then you had
- 26:43Speaker 1: the Veterans Beard, which was a beard of a retired
- 26:45Speaker 1: or discharged US service member, God bless the troops. And
- 26:49Speaker 1: one that I think is absolutely amazing is for the
- 26:51Speaker 1: fastest growing facial hair in the five o'clock shadow category.
- 26:55Speaker 1: So what they did is contestants shaved that morning and
- 26:57Speaker 1: then they were judged by how much facial hair could
- 27:00Speaker 1: be grown by five PM. So that's something you know,
- 27:03Speaker 1: you want to check it out. You could enter in
- 27:05Speaker 1: the exhibition category or anybody with an amazing beard or
- 27:08Speaker 1: mustache or go tee. You got your chances to enter
- 27:12Speaker 1: into the competition. I know there's a couple of other
- 27:14Speaker 1: ones throughout the nation. Maybe you don't start with the
- 27:17Speaker 1: nation one. Maybe you do, maybe you're just that good,
- 27:19Speaker 1: but either way, check out the link onbeard laws dot
- 27:22Speaker 1: com from the cnet dot com twenty nineteen National Beard
- 27:26Speaker 1: a Mustage Championship. Their tagline for the article is pretty cool.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Grow it, grease it, groove it. The official photographer for
- 27:33Speaker 1: the event was Greg Anderson, and if I think of it,
- 27:36Speaker 1: I will also link Greg's Facebook page that has kind
- 27:40Speaker 1: of a different side of the pictures as well. Hey,
- 27:43Speaker 1: I'm going to reach out to Greg Anderson and maybe
- 27:44Speaker 1: see if he wants to be a part of the
- 27:45Speaker 1: podcast for a couple of minutes. All right, this concludes
- 27:48Speaker 1: the episode. I appreciate everybody listening. Hope you guys have
- 27:51Speaker 1: a wonderful Thanksgiving. Seasonal depression is a real thing, guys.
- 27:57Speaker 1: If anybody needs anyone to talk to, feel free to
- 27:59Speaker 1: hit me up or there's plenty of phone numbers, websites
- 28:03Speaker 1: and everything where you can call and get some help.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Don't be embarrassed, don't think it's something that can't be fixed. Please,
- 28:10Speaker 1: if you're going through any kind of depression, not only seasonal,
- 28:13Speaker 1: but at any time, please reach out and get some help. Again,
- 28:17Speaker 1: hopefully everybody has a great Thanksgiving. Thanks for listening. As always,
- 28:21Speaker 1: Beard on.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Selling for things rather basing on the basis for now,
- 29:07Speaker 2: say what you across councils.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Those tides ever said, sour up?
- 29:17Speaker 3: What at there's writing? Rod were fine? You'll try out
- 29:28Speaker 3: a ways.
- 29:32Speaker 2: And theme when you went the sway was a fake
- 29:36Speaker 2: for one time away from America. American bea no alone
- 30:01Speaker 2: the summer times it seems so cool.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I know a time, but
