- 0:00Speaker 1: For all you mad bastards loving the big show podcast
- 0:05Speaker 1: get up even closer on instagram youtube and tiktok or
- 0:10Speaker 1: raw doggies four to seven every.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Weekday on radio good day.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Fellas here he is Hey!
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yo, yo.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Am I right?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Tell us all about your holiday, man.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Well, first and foremost, where's Keezy? What's going on?
- 0:29Speaker 1: He didn't approve that. He's fired, man.
- 0:30Speaker 3: What, was he fired?
- 0:32Speaker 1: Yeah, he's handsy, man.
- 0:33Speaker 3: I knew that was going to happen at some stage.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It was going to catch up with him at some point,
- 0:36Speaker 1: wasn't it?
- 0:37Speaker 3: Who was he handsy with, you?
- 0:38Speaker 1: You name it, man. You name it.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Who wasn't he handsy with?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Have a look around, man.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Pugsan.
- 0:45Speaker 4: Actually, it was quite funny when I came in, Moggy,
- 0:47Speaker 4: because I went and had a chat to Pugsan, and
- 0:49Speaker 4: he seemed a bit sort of.
- 0:51Speaker 1: He's been a bit down lately. Yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I was a huge wet blanket last Friday.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Can I just acknowledge that?
- 0:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I was a massive punisher in the last podcast.
- 0:59Speaker 1: That's not true.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Why is that?
- 1:00Speaker 1: What happened to us?
- 1:02Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I was in a down buzz sort of vibe, man.
- 1:06Speaker 1: We brought him in here, man, you know, to be
- 1:08Speaker 1: the third cock, I was going to say. Our third cock?
- 1:14Speaker 1: And he just sat there like a, you know. Yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 2: And you know, usually I love playing the third cock.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I'm a huge fan.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Normally he's bumper to bumper. Yeah. You know what I mean? But, yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 1: he was just sort of, yeah, he wasn't himself. Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I just got him on the way out. Chin up, Pugsan.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Sort your shit out, man.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Well, this is the thing, too.
- 1:34Speaker 4: You know, you've got to look at the positives in
- 1:37Speaker 4: your life there, Pugsan.
- 1:38Speaker 1: That's true, man. You're a stallion. For example, I think.
- 1:42Speaker 3: You're a rooter.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Well, there's that as well because I think Pugsan, you know,
- 1:45Speaker 1: he went to a gig last night.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I did.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And I saw somebody else had been to the same gig.
- 1:50Speaker 1: They look like they're in very close proximity to Pugs.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Okay. So I think Pugs probably had a pretty good weekend.
- 1:57Speaker 3: You washed your hair today, didn't you?
- 1:58Speaker 2: I did, man.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Yeah, but a bit of stuff in the hair from
- 2:02Speaker 4: last night was there.
- 2:03Speaker 2: What do you mean stuff in the hair?
- 2:05Speaker 3: I'm just asking, man.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I use hair product.
- 2:08Speaker 2: I've washed my hair every other day to get the
- 2:09Speaker 2: product done, man.
- 2:11Speaker 3: What I'm saying is it's got that newly washed look.
- 2:14Speaker 1: It does. I'll take that.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Without product in it.
- 2:17Speaker 1: If you.
- 2:18Speaker 2: There's product in it now.
- 2:19Speaker 4: To paint a picture for... Shaggy dog.
- 2:22Speaker 3: The audience out there.
- 2:23Speaker 1: It looks like a shaggy dog.
- 2:24Speaker 3: If you imagine the arse end of a corgi....
- 2:29Speaker 1: If the arse end of the corgi had a thin moustache. Yes.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Just under the butthole there, a little moustache.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Just under the tail.
- 2:37Speaker 3: My holiday was very good, thanks, Mogi.
- 2:39Speaker 1: That's great.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Did lots of stuff, you know, because I've reached that
- 2:45Speaker 4: age where I'm nearing death.
- 2:47Speaker 1: That's true.
- 2:49Speaker 3: And so when you get a break, it's like, actually,
- 2:51Speaker 3: I've got to make the most of this.
- 2:52Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I've got to do shit.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Like watch Fargo instead of the Indian cricket test.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that was bad.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I'm on the fence about this, Jase, I've got to
- 3:03Speaker 1: tell you. I'm on the fence about telling Cleaver and
- 3:06Speaker 1: Paul Ford because it was a confidential text message. Yes.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And so I'm not going to send it through to them.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But I was surprised, especially given it's a TV show
- 3:15Speaker 1: that came out some years ago.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Or film.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Well, it's funny, because when you sent me that text,
- 3:19Speaker 4: I went, what the fuck is Mogi talking about? And
- 3:22Speaker 4: then I thought, oh, he must have got that book,
- 3:26Speaker 4: More Please, by Barry Huff. Ah, yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 3: And I went, oh, yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Because I texted Jason, I said, how good is this?
- 3:32Speaker 1: First day of the cricket test, India, five down for
- 3:36Speaker 1: our 34.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 1: What do you mean, man? I was like, the cricket test?
- 3:40Speaker 2: Ah, what else, man?
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. He was watching Fargo.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I've heard Fargo's pretty good, to be fair.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Have you not seen Fargo?
- 3:46Speaker 2: I've seen the original Fargo.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was watching.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Oh, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Fair enough, man.
- 3:51Speaker 4: And totally my bad. It was a mismanagement of time,
- 3:55Speaker 4: can I put it that way?
- 3:56Speaker 1: Sure.
- 3:56Speaker 3: My wife and I were like.
- 3:59Speaker 4: And we'd done that classic thing of, well, let's watch
- 4:01Speaker 4: a movie or something. We just couldn't fucking find anything.
- 4:04Speaker 4: So we went, let's watch something that's actually really good
- 4:06Speaker 4: and we know it's really good.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Sure.
- 4:08Speaker 4: So we watched Fargo. But we'll talk about the cricket
- 4:11Speaker 4: in the show. Had you just forgotten that the cricket
- 4:12Speaker 4: was on at all?
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. What did you think? We're just going to
- 4:16Speaker 1: get smashed and we're not going to bother watching it.
- 4:17Speaker 3: I honestly did.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Is that what you thought, though? You thought, oh,
- 4:20Speaker 1: I'll watch the movie? Or what did you think? Not that....
- 4:25Speaker 3: I didn't want to watch it, but certainly I thought
- 4:28Speaker 3: we're going to get our.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Fucking asses hit. But in this case, you forgot that
- 4:30Speaker 1: it was on rather than, ah, I could watch the cricket,
- 4:33Speaker 1: but we're probably going to get smashed, so I'll watch
- 4:35Speaker 1: the movie.
- 4:36Speaker 4: No, it was more, as I say, a mismanagement of time.
- 4:39Speaker 4: I didn't realise what the time was.
- 4:41Speaker 1: And that it was on. And that it was on,
- 4:42Speaker 1: it was.
- 4:43Speaker 3: And we'd been watching Fargo for a little while.
- 4:47Speaker 4: But this is the beauty of highlights, Moggy.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It's not the same, though, is it, Jason?
- 4:51Speaker 4: I know. But from there on, there on, I watched
- 4:55Speaker 4: the entire Test match erratically.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Erratically. Yes. So even still, you did not watch it.
- 5:02Speaker 2: You did not.
- 5:02Speaker 3: The Hauraki Beach Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Now that's good listening.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And it's live.
- 5:12Speaker 1: What are you listening to there?
- 5:15Speaker 2: Oh, me?
- 5:15Speaker 3: Oh, sorry.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I was listening to the Radio Hauraki Big Show.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Four to seven weekdays.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's quite specific.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And iHeartRadio.
- 5:28Speaker 1: What?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Cheers.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Cheers. The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Because the boys have been on a bit of a
- 5:36Speaker 3: downward trajectory.
- 5:38Speaker 1: For a while. And you've just abandoned them.
- 5:39Speaker 3: No, I haven't abandoned them.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I'm still a fan, but I was getting really bummed
- 5:43Speaker 4: out about it after being pantsed by, who was it, Bangladesh.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Well, no, we got rained out in Bangladesh and then
- 5:50Speaker 1: we lost to Sri Lanka.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Oh, Sri Lanka, sorry.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 3: And I was like, oh, God.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I know. And look, I just chucked it
- 5:57Speaker 1: on because it's never going to get better than the
- 5:59Speaker 1: first two sessions of day one.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:01Speaker 1: So we'll know where we are. And I watched that
- 6:04Speaker 1: and that's when I messaged you. And then my wife
- 6:08Speaker 1: wanted to watch something.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:10Speaker 1: So I was just like watching on my phone while
- 6:13Speaker 1: we were watching the thing that we were watching.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Yes.
- 6:17Speaker 1: And I just said, look, I'm going to have to
- 6:18Speaker 1: turn this off because this is too good. Yeah. I can't.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I can't split my attention here. Yes. Yeah, it was
- 6:25Speaker 1: bloody good.
- 6:25Speaker 4: How much do you guys do that in terms of,
- 6:28Speaker 4: because I often find that with my wife.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I'll choose a movie.
- 6:39Speaker 1: My wife. Not on the podcast, but you know the rules.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Sorry. I'll choose, like I'll choose a movie, legit.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Yeah. And she always just gives up really easily.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 6:50Speaker 3: She's like, oh, I don't know, you choose.
- 6:53Speaker 4: And so then I go and I choose one, and
- 6:55Speaker 4: we'll be 10 minutes in and she'll be on her phone.
- 6:58Speaker 4: And I'll go, oh, so should we watch something else then?
- 7:01Speaker 3: And she's like, what do you mean?
- 7:03Speaker 4: And I say, well, you're on your phone, so should
- 7:06Speaker 4: we watch something else?
- 7:07Speaker 3: And she's, no, no, no, no, no, this is fine.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But it's not even necessarily a reflection on the show.
- 7:11Speaker 1: It's a reflection of the addiction to the phone. Yes, yes.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's the temptation of the phone. Totally, man. The phone's
- 7:17Speaker 1: a comfort. I started, while the wife was away on holiday,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I started watching The Penguin. You won't know that, Jase,
- 7:22Speaker 1: but I've been talking about it.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Is it on Apple or something?
- 7:25Speaker 1: It's on Neon. And the wife was, when I told her,
- 7:33Speaker 1: obviously not thrilled. Sure. Because I'd started watching something without her,
- 7:36Speaker 1: and that was always the risk.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Yes.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah. But then last night.
- 7:40Speaker 3: It's just while you were a bachelor.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. And then last night, her sister was here,
- 7:44Speaker 1: and they were going to watch something. I said, I'm
- 7:45Speaker 1: going to bed. And then she started watching a Cate
- 7:49Speaker 1: Blanchett TV show that's on Apple, which looks bloody good.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Cate Blanchett, Sacha Baron Cohen, somebody else. Nice. Looks bloody good.
- 7:59Speaker 3: A thriller.
- 8:00Speaker 1: She's great. Anyway, my wife just started watching that. Could
- 8:03Speaker 1: have chosen any movie in the world. So I think
- 8:05Speaker 1: she's taken it out on me. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah, totally. Now you're even.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Even Stevens.
- 8:13Speaker 3: But, yeah, I always find it very distracting. And then
- 8:15Speaker 3: I'll pause it. While she's on her phone. And I'll go.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I do that.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Seriously, I can find something else. Yep. And she's like, no, no, no, seriously,
- 8:23Speaker 3: I am watching.
- 8:24Speaker 1: It used to be the same when I put a
- 8:25Speaker 1: movie on and people would be talking in the room.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I'd just pause it. Yeah. I'll let you finish. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 1: We can watch the movie, I guess.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Yeah, totally, man.
- 8:35Speaker 1: That was when I cared more about movies and TV. Absolutely.
- 8:39Speaker 3: So a big rooting night then, old pups.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Jesus Christ, man.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I tell you what.
- 8:45Speaker 2: For fuck's sake.
- 8:46Speaker 3: I tell you what.
- 8:47Speaker 2: What?
- 8:47Speaker 4: I've got to be honest with you. I envy you, mate,
- 8:49Speaker 4: those young bucks.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I don't, actually.
- 8:52Speaker 4: I'm very happy where I am, quite frankly. But, you know,
- 8:56Speaker 4: back in the day, out in the town, gig, bit
- 8:58Speaker 4: of a passion.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Giggity, giggity, giggity.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. I had a real hoody-jay sort
- 9:03Speaker 2: of morning yesterday.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Did you? Yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Went out for a coffee.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Who was?
- 9:07Speaker 2: Now, I live alone, right?
- 9:09Speaker 3: Couldn't you have just made her a coffee at your house?
- 9:12Speaker 3: What's that?
- 9:13Speaker 1: Nah, it was this morning. The gig was last night. Oh, right.
- 9:16Speaker 2: The gig was last night, but this is yesterday morning.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I went out for a coffee, and I.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Rich bastard, eh?
- 9:22Speaker 2: I was like, you know what, my phone.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Moneybags.
- 9:25Speaker 1: It was payday on Friday. Give me a rest.
- 9:28Speaker 2: So I left my phone on charge in the flat,
- 9:31Speaker 2: because I was like, it's nearly dead. I'll just chuck
- 9:33Speaker 2: it on charge while I'm out for a coffee. Smart.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Did you not charge it overnight, then?
- 9:35Speaker 2: I did not. I did not, which was not smart.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Anyway, go.
- 9:39Speaker 3: It was busy.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Sounds like it. Get back.
- 9:42Speaker 2: with the coffee and I realise I've locked my key
- 9:45Speaker 2: how many coffees did you buy two coffees for me
- 9:49Speaker 2: and one other person anyway so I realise I've locked
- 9:55Speaker 2: the key in the house now I live alone so
- 9:56Speaker 2: I've got nobody that can let me in except for.
- 9:58Speaker 1: The person that's in the house No, no, no, no.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I was with the same person.
- 10:02Speaker 2: That person had come for a coffee. Can I get
- 10:06Speaker 2: through the fucking story, man? Yeah, you can.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Sorry, bud.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Anyway, so I had a ferry to catch at about midday,
- 10:14Speaker 2: and this is at— That's what we call it. This
- 10:16Speaker 2: is about 11.30. We're never going to get through this.
- 10:18Speaker 2: The podcast is already at 10 minutes. Anyway, so then.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I go around.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I realize I can't call the landlord because I don't
- 10:25Speaker 2: have a number, so I go to the neighbor's house,
- 10:26Speaker 2: which is an old fella upstairs— Barely talked to him,
- 10:29Speaker 2: nice guy He did not have the landlord's phone saved
- 10:32Speaker 2: So I went to the other neighbours, not home Went
- 10:34Speaker 2: to the other neighbours, different landlord So I had to
- 10:36Speaker 2: get Isaac out in the Hauraki office there Who was
- 10:39Speaker 2: working at Flavour at the time To come in here,
- 10:40Speaker 2: log into my computer Log into my emails, look up
- 10:44Speaker 2: my landlord's name Find her number so I could then
- 10:46Speaker 2: call her Using this other person's phone And get her
- 10:50Speaker 2: to come and let me into my house Meanwhile I
- 10:52Speaker 2: got a ferry to catch at 12 And it got
- 10:54Speaker 2: to about 11.45 Where are you going?
- 10:57Speaker 1: Rangitoto. Oh, that's right.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Walked up the summit there. It was awesome. And then, yeah,
- 11:02Speaker 2: got to the ferry with like five minutes to spare
- 11:04Speaker 2: on the old Uber.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Good shit. All right. Tell all your mates about Edmund. Oh, yeah, true.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Captain Edmund. Hey, listen to the Hodaki Big Show, 47 weekdays.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Also check out our Instagram at Hodaki Big Show. And
- 11:17Speaker 2: our YouTube, Radio Hodaki, for goodness sake. I'm putting up
- 11:20Speaker 2: some of the podcasts up there so you can watch those.
- 11:23Speaker 2: And we'll see you on the radio show.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Thanks, mate.
