SPEAKER_04: Hi and welcome to this episode of Sass Sips.
• 0:13
SPEAKER_04: Today we're gonna talk about the season four finale of Lust.
• 0:18
  SPEAKER_04: I'm Lisa.
• 0:19
  SPEAKER_05: And I'm Agnes.
• 0:22
SPEAKER_04: I cannot wait, but first, what are you drinking?
• 0:26
SPEAKER_01: I am drinking and it's not new, but it's new to me.
• 0:30
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you, baby brother.
• 0:31
SPEAKER_01: Um okay, so it's Dr.
• 0:39
SPEAKER_01: Pepper cream soda with crowned apple.
• 0:45
SPEAKER_04: The plan was for us to both drink that, but apparently cream soda does not exist in the state of New Jersey.
• 0:52
SPEAKER_01: So to be fair, anywhere else, because I was looking for cream soda also, and I'm like, wait, what happened to all the cream soda?
• 0:59
SPEAKER_04: I have a white claw that I found in my fridge instead.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_01: It's always good to have like a backup like alcohol fridge.
• 1:05
SPEAKER_04: Well, I guess when you're married to my husband, I opened the fridge to see if there was maybe a cream soda hoarded, and instead I found white claws, twisted teas, two different kinds of beer, and I'm like, oh well, okay.
• 1:22
SPEAKER_04: But I'm like, this is what we have to do.
• 1:23
SPEAKER_04: We have to hide the shit from the kids.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_04: So I have a mango white claw.
• 1:29
  SPEAKER_04: Nice right now.
• 1:30
  SPEAKER_01: I love mango.
• 1:31
SPEAKER_04: Whenever there's a mango, later, I've I got this stuff to make margaritas, but somebody's gotta get the kid from work, so okay, fine.
• 1:42
SPEAKER_04: Fucking kids with jobs and no transportation.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_01: I know how kids growing up.
• 1:47
SPEAKER_01: I feel like they should either stay kids or stay grown-ups.
• 1:49
  SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, it's in-between stuff.
• 1:53
SPEAKER_04: I have on my cross-stitch glasses today.
• 1:56
SPEAKER_01: I really should be throwing on my glasses more often than I should, that I do.
• 2:01
  SPEAKER_01: It's not pretty.
• 2:02
  SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't like I can drive, I can see.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_01: It's I guess I'm on a computer more than I used to be, and my eyes are like, ooh.
• 2:08
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 2:08
SPEAKER_04: And since this is gonna be a long one because we're gonna do parts one, two, and three.
• 2:14
SPEAKER_04: Oh look, thank you, Lost Pedia, for the help.
• 2:17
SPEAKER_04: But wow, that's a whole little book.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, this is like close to 30 pages.
• 2:23
SPEAKER_04: Coincidental, which is like how many pages too long the script was when I was reading up.
• 2:29
SPEAKER_04: Oh, so they want yeah, it's supposed to be two parts, like two episodes, but the script was like 30 pages too long, and so that's how they worked out a deal to end up with the third episode.
• 2:44
SPEAKER_04: Because they were like, you know, we we want all this stuff in the episode.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_01: So we're doing an extra episode.
• 2:50
SPEAKER_01: See if you like it.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_01: What channel were they on?
• 2:53
  SPEAKER_01: ABC?
• 2:54
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like whether you like it or not, you're buying another episode.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_01: I think at this point, and the lost world, like not the lost world, but at this point, lost could have been like, yeah, buy another episode.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_01: We're gonna do about it.
• 3:09
SPEAKER_04: Cancel us, pretty much, you're right.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_04: Anything that you want to say before we start at the you know, on the episode, on the episode proper.
• 3:25
SPEAKER_01: So after four seasons and 101 billion episodes of me, of you like dragging me, kicking and screaming into the lost world with your push pins and your red yarn and all your stuff.
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_04: My arm twisting, yeah.
• 3:43
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, legitimately.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_01: If I lived by her, she literally would have twisted my arm.
• 3:48
SPEAKER_04: Um, you might have been duct taped to a chair.
• 3:50
  SPEAKER_01: Might have been.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_01: I would have been down in a well in your basement.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_01: And you I am actually like, oh my god, this is so good.
• 4:00
SPEAKER_01: This let's just go ahead and watch the next season.
• 4:02
  SPEAKER_01: I'm ready.
• 4:02
SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, no, focus, Agnes, focus.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_01: We're gonna do this, right?
• 4:08
SPEAKER_04: I'm glad that you enjoyed it though.
• 4:10
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I the fourth season really is one of the best, if not the best.
• 4:18
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, with the exception of the season finale of season three.
• 4:21
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was the beginning of the good times for me in season three.
• 4:30
SPEAKER_01: Speaking of the season finale, season three, I was no, no, we don't talk about Bruno and we don't talk about season three.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_01: Um, no, that's the finale plus this episode.
• 4:42
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, wait, what who what?
• 4:44
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's so cute.
• 4:45
  SPEAKER_01: I like that.
• 4:48
SPEAKER_04: How about when you got to the end?
• 4:51
SPEAKER_04: You weren't ready to like kill me?
• 4:55
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I don't remember I don't, I think it was part two.
• 4:59
  SPEAKER_04: The last scene.
• 5:00
  SPEAKER_04: No, the last scene.
• 5:00
SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, I'm I'm sorry about how I'm gonna kill you.
• 5:04
SPEAKER_01: Not gonna kill you, but I remember like a few episodes back, you're like, okay, this is a hard one to watch.
• 5:11
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, okay, and I'm like, oh, it wasn't that bad.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking, see, part two for me was hard.
• 5:17
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, that was hard.
• 5:20
SPEAKER_01: Like, even though you knew it was coming, it's still kind of like, oh no.
• 5:25
SPEAKER_01: Um but what I just uh I don't think I wanted to kill you for the last for the end.
• 5:31
SPEAKER_01: I was more like, okay, but but confused?
• 5:34
SPEAKER_04: You were you confusion again?
• 5:36
  SPEAKER_01: I was confusion, yes.
• 5:38
SPEAKER_01: And I was just like, but why?
• 5:42
  SPEAKER_01: But why?
• 5:43
SPEAKER_04: That's one of the beautiful things about this season finale is that it kind of answered a bunch of questions.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_04: It started with the resolution and then it worked its way through how they got there.
• 5:59
SPEAKER_04: But at the same time, by the end of the third part, you're like, okay, well, now we know what happened to these guys.
• 6:08
SPEAKER_04: You got that big answer, and then it left you with, but what happened to everybody else?
• 6:16
SPEAKER_04: And what happened in the meantime?
• 6:18
SPEAKER_01: And in the the meantime, and in between time.
• 6:20
SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, just okay, so you would have thought I would have been highly upset considering my love for this person, but in Lost World, based on Lost's MO, he has a I think they could still keep him in there for two seasons.
• 6:44
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 6:44
SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
• 6:46
SPEAKER_04: The whole back and forth.
• 6:47
SPEAKER_02: We see dead people, so we see dead people all the time.
• 6:50
SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, the moment I start seeing like dead people and having conversations with them, I'm gonna go to my neurologist and ask for MRI.
• 7:01
SPEAKER_02: Um, so I thought I was more like, but but but yeah, a lot of questions.
• 7:10
SPEAKER_04: On the island, tracking the helicopter and leaving for the freighter.
• 7:16
SPEAKER_04: The survivors are busy discussing what to do following the discovery of the satellite phone dropped from the helicopter.
• 7:24
SPEAKER_04: Daniel enters a code that activates the quote-unquote monitor-only mode, and they listen to the conversation on the helicopter.
• 7:31
SPEAKER_04: Kimi is speaking to Frank and orders him to land the helicopter.
• 7:36
SPEAKER_04: Frank says that they're not there yet, but Kimi is like, fuck that, land this bitch.
• 7:41
SPEAKER_04: I mean, not really, but yeah.
• 7:44
SPEAKER_04: And then he says, as soon as we hit the ground, we deploy to the orchid.
• 7:51
SPEAKER_04: Jack is determined to follow the helicopter because he's Jack.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_04: Um, Juliet tells him that recovery is not sitting around.
• 7:59
  SPEAKER_04: Thank you, Juliet.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_04: I say the same ship.
• 8:01
SPEAKER_04: And he wants Jack to rest.
• 8:04
SPEAKER_04: And Jack is like, no, I'm Jack.
• 8:08
SPEAKER_04: And he asks Kate if she wants to take a walk.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_01: I really need to understand.
• 8:12
SPEAKER_01: I said this so many times throughout the seasons.
• 8:15
SPEAKER_01: Okay, yes, he's a doctor and he's important to the group.
• 8:19
  SPEAKER_01: He's necessary.
• 8:20
SPEAKER_01: But how does a doctor become the unofficial leader of the group?
• 8:25
SPEAKER_04: Because Jack is a martyr, that's how.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_01: I just I would I got over the island.
• 8:30
SPEAKER_01: I was like, can we have the guy that has some like I don't know, real world life experience?
• 8:34
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like I don't know, the one who can actually keep us alive, especially when shit stop hitting the van.
• 8:40
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, yes, I what are we doing, but like what's going on?
• 8:43
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 8:43
  SPEAKER_01: Not the fucking doctor.
• 8:45
SPEAKER_04: But I think that maybe, and and maybe maybe I'll take some heat for this.
• 8:49
  SPEAKER_04: Please don't cancel me.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_04: But I think that a lot of doctors, namely surgeons, have hero complexes, and Jack, no, no different, you know.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_01: But no, I completely agree, and I feel like but it's funny how everyone's like, okay, right.
• 9:07
SPEAKER_04: Um, I have and and in fairness, though, right?
• 9:09
SPEAKER_04: I mean, stressful situation, a lot of confusion.
• 9:14
SPEAKER_04: Somebody wants to step up, and you see that no matter how successful or unsuccessful he is, and you know, his personality and all that, you see that he's trying to do the the good thing.
• 9:30
SPEAKER_04: Like, right, he he's he's not trying to screw them over, he's he's trying to just lead by what he thinks is for the best of the group.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_04: His intentions are are good, so I guess it's easy to accept him as the leader.
• 9:46
SPEAKER_04: Although you saw, like, after that there was a split in the group, not everybody decided that they wanted to follow him.
• 9:56
SPEAKER_01: And I think that was kind of just based on whether we stay or whether we go, not him per se.
• 10:04
  SPEAKER_04: I think it was a combination.
• 10:06
SPEAKER_04: Not everybody wanted to leave, but also I think not everybody wanted to follow Jack.
• 10:12
SPEAKER_04: Because they when it came to the people on the freighter, remember Charlie gave the warning, this is not Penny's boat.
• 10:24
SPEAKER_04: And some of them were saying that the people on the freighter, they're well, Ben was saying they're not here to rescue us.
• 10:30
SPEAKER_04: And Jack is like, no, no, no, they are.
• 10:33
SPEAKER_04: I'm Jack, I say so, blah, blah, blah.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_04: And not everybody believed that it was for the good, and was like, we don't necessarily want to stay, but we don't want to be with you in the freighter.
• 10:46
SPEAKER_04: Like, that's the wrong move.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_01: So good point, good point.
• 10:53
  SPEAKER_04: Thank you, thank you.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_04: Anyhow, Jack and Kate run off into the jungle yet again.
• 11:01
  SPEAKER_04: In the jungle.
• 11:05
SPEAKER_04: Meanwhile, Daniel searches through his jungle for a page containing information about the orchid and warns Charlotte that Kimi and his men are using the secondary protocol and they must leave the island immediately.
• 11:20
SPEAKER_04: I never really noticed this before, but how the fuck did Daniel know about that?
• 11:56
SPEAKER_01: Daniel knows a lot more than you thought he would have been given information on.
• 12:11
SPEAKER_01: Well, those three people, like, why these three people?
• 12:13
SPEAKER_01: Like, his is obvious as as a scientist, and the e you know, but everyone else is kind of weird.
• 12:19
SPEAKER_01: But I think there's a lot more he knows, yeah, improving to.
• 12:24
SPEAKER_04: I can't I can't tell you why, but I have one, you know, it's it's been a while since I've watched this like straight through, but I feel like there's one reason that could explain why he knew, but I can't tell you.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_04: But I have to like keep it in mind for the future to see if I'm right.
• 12:44
SPEAKER_04: Because it like it just never stuck out to me before.
• 12:48
SPEAKER_04: But I'm gonna I'm gonna put that in our notes and see if my theory makes sense, and then when we get to it, I'll I'll tell you.
• 12:56
SPEAKER_01: Okay, it sounds like a plan stand.
• 12:58
  SPEAKER_04: Okay.
• 12:59
  SPEAKER_04: In the jungle.
• 13:01
SPEAKER_01: In the jungle, the body jungle.
• 13:06
SPEAKER_04: Kate notices that Jack's wound is bleeding, but Jack jacks and is like, no, no, no, it's fine.
• 13:14
  SPEAKER_00: Jack is jacking.
• 13:17
SPEAKER_04: Kate says that she knows when other people are lying because they look away from her, but in Jack's case, it's the opposite.
• 13:24
SPEAKER_04: Suddenly they hear a noise, and both of them take off their weapons, and it's just Miles coming out of the bush, like he's so fucking oblivious.
• 13:33
  SPEAKER_04: He's like, dum-dum-dum, oh shit.
• 13:35
SPEAKER_02: It's like he's just taking a little acting stroll, like there's not a single car in the world.
• 13:40
SPEAKER_01: But I kind of like that about him.
• 13:42
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 13:43
SPEAKER_01: Because he's more like get get upset over what?
• 13:46
SPEAKER_01: Like it doesn't change whatever danger I may or may not be in.
• 13:49
  SPEAKER_01: The fuck.
• 13:50
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 13:52
SPEAKER_04: And he's followed by Sawyer carrying Aaron.
• 13:55
SPEAKER_04: Kate and Sawyer exchange uneasy stares before Kate asks where Claire is.
• 14:01
SPEAKER_04: Can I just say that the look on Sawyer's face in this scene, it was just it was just such good acting, like subtle, the subtleness of the pain in his face.
• 14:16
  SPEAKER_04: Right?
• 14:17
SPEAKER_01: Like the little nuances that we that people go through, the facial feature, like when you don't know it, it's just like you know, your body's reacting, your face reacts to things.
• 14:29
SPEAKER_01: I think that's the hardest thing to act and do.
• 14:33
SPEAKER_01: Like things that are involuntary.
• 14:36
SPEAKER_02: So I think that's yeah, because I felt his pain, his confusion, his I felt all of it.
• 14:42
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because it's like remember, he they couldn't find her, and so they assumed that she went back to the beach.
• 14:52
SPEAKER_04: But the fact that Kate and Jack were like, Well, where's Claire?
• 14:57
SPEAKER_04: Told him that no, he didn't go back to the she didn't go back to the beach.
• 15:03
SPEAKER_04: And so instantly it was like a sadness, and then like the realization solidifying his fear, like shit, she didn't.
• 15:14
SPEAKER_04: And you could see he's like it was like you could see like he didn't want to tell them what happened, and at the same time, like the sadness that she's gone, you know.
• 15:29
SPEAKER_01: I wonder, like, in his head, like how did he how that makes sense to him?
• 15:34
SPEAKER_01: Like, she was there and then she wasn't, and she's gone.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_02: But if she would have succumbed to her injuries, wouldn't she just be close when her body would be close by?
• 15:46
SPEAKER_02: And uh like the confusion, like I would have been all types of confusion, right?
• 15:51
SPEAKER_04: And and the fact that it seems like no one, you know, no no one had found her.
• 15:59
SPEAKER_04: So, you know what could have happened.
• 16:03
SPEAKER_04: Jack wants to continue into the jungle.
• 16:06
SPEAKER_04: He tells Kate to take care of the baby and head back to the beach.
• 16:10
SPEAKER_04: But Sawyer catches up to Jack.
• 16:14
  SPEAKER_04: What does he say?
• 16:14
SPEAKER_04: He's like, You don't get to die alone.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_01: I said this uh if I said it once, I'll say it a million more times.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_01: Or if I said it a million times, I say it again.
• 16:24
SPEAKER_01: Well, anyway, with all his brashness and his no fucks given, he has the heart of gold.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_01: His moral compass might be a little off at times, but he's the he's definitely a good person.
• 16:40
SPEAKER_04: There's like at least three solid examples of it in this episode, and that's one of them.
• 16:50
SPEAKER_04: Like this this whole scene, the way he feels about Claire, him protecting the baby, you know, and then and then deciding like Jack can't go alone.
• 16:59
  SPEAKER_04: That's one.
• 17:01
SPEAKER_04: They follow the signal on the satellite phone until they reach the helicopter, and Frank is handcuffed to it.
• 17:09
SPEAKER_04: Sawyer's uneasy about approaching Frank, but Jack assures him that he's trustworthy.
• 17:15
SPEAKER_04: The two proceed to find a way to uncuff Frank, who promises to fly them off the island as soon as they do.
• 17:22
SPEAKER_04: He says that with the mercenaries on the island, it's the last place they want to be, and that the freighter is the safest place.
• 17:32
SPEAKER_00: Is any place really safe?
• 17:34
  SPEAKER_04: That's a very good point.
• 17:37
SPEAKER_04: He says that the men are at the orchid waiting to capture Ben and to do terrible things to whoever is with him.
• 17:43
SPEAKER_04: Sawyer realizes that Hurley is with that is with Sawyer realizes that Hurley is with Ben to Jack's frustration, and they decide they cannot leave yet.
• 17:55
SPEAKER_04: So now they go on a walk to the orchid.
• 18:00
SPEAKER_04: Meanwhile, Saeed arrives at the beach and offers to ferry people six at a time back to the freighter.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_04: Kate comes out of the jungle with Aaron and tells Said what happened, and Saeed wants to run off after Jack and Sawyer to warn them about the freighter mercenaries.
• 18:17
SPEAKER_04: Daniel offers to ferry people to the freighter in his place.
• 18:21
SPEAKER_04: Juliet says the son is pregnant, so she should leave first.
• 18:24
SPEAKER_04: Kate wants to go to Saeed to help track Jack and Sawyer, and she gives Aaron to son.
• 18:31
SPEAKER_04: Now Kate and Said head off into the jungle.
• 18:34
SPEAKER_04: Daniel takes Son Jin Aaron and three random people onto the zodiac.
• 18:43
SPEAKER_04: Did you wonder, like all those people that he ferried back and forth?
• 18:47
SPEAKER_04: How come none of them were like, let me on the helicopter?
• 18:50
SPEAKER_01: I well at the time they didn't know if the helicopter was there for good or bad.
• 18:57
  SPEAKER_04: No, no, no.
• 18:58
SPEAKER_04: I mean, like when the freighter is is like while they just disappeared, right?
• 19:04
SPEAKER_01: Right, they were just weren't there anymore.
• 19:06
SPEAKER_04: Right, they just weren't well, they really weren't there anymore.
• 19:09
SPEAKER_01: Well, what ye well, yes.
• 19:14
SPEAKER_04: In the jungle, Kate and Saeed are tracking Jack and Sawyer's footprints.
• 19:20
SPEAKER_04: Kate notices a different set of tracks that have double back on them.
• 19:25
SPEAKER_04: Said calls for whoever is following them to reveal themselves, and it's Richard Albert, and he emerges from the jungle, and Kate and Sawyer draw their guns to tell Richard to stand down, and then he's like, Well, calm down, you know.
• 19:41
SPEAKER_04: And then basically he's like, light him up, except not as iconic.
• 19:46
SPEAKER_01: Richard, I gotta say, I was kind of sort of expecting an iconic kind of response, but maybe the non-iconicness of it made it iconic.
• 19:59
  SPEAKER_01: No?
• 19:59
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, I tried.
• 20:01
SPEAKER_04: He just Richard disarms them, and then the others begin escorting them to an undefined location.
• 20:08
SPEAKER_04: Traveling to the orchid, Ben leads Locke and Hurley through the jungle.
• 20:13
SPEAKER_04: He explains that if, as Christian told Locke, they need to move the island, then there's only one place to do that, the orchid.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_04: Hurley asks Ben why he didn't move the island before the mercenaries arrived, and Ben replied because doing so is both dangerous and unpredictable, a measure of last resort.
• 20:32
SPEAKER_04: Along the way, Ben stops at a rock formation and pulls out a hidden case.
• 20:38
SPEAKER_04: Inside are binoculars, a signaling mirror, and Dharma Initiative Cracker tin.
• 20:44
SPEAKER_04: Locke gives the tin to Hurley who opens it and starts eating the crackers.
• 20:48
SPEAKER_04: After telling Hurley that the crackers are 15 years old, Ben uses the mirror to reflect light in order to signal something to someone on a nearby cliff.
• 20:58
SPEAKER_04: The person on the cliff responds with more reflected light.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_04: And Locke wants to know who who he was communicating with.
• 21:06
SPEAKER_04: And Ben said, Who do you think?
• 21:10
SPEAKER_04: And then Locke wants to know what he said, and Ben is like, none of your business.
• 21:17
SPEAKER_04: Oh Ben, you have all the answers, don't you?
• 21:21
  SPEAKER_01: He kind of does.
• 21:22
SPEAKER_01: And this is the because so obviously he's communicated with one of his people, the others.
• 21:29
SPEAKER_01: And at this point, I was like, Yeah, whatever happened to them, I can you forget about them.
• 21:35
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 21:35
SPEAKER_01: Because there's more than just five people.
• 21:38
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 21:39
  SPEAKER_01: Forgot all about them.
• 21:41
SPEAKER_04: Later, the three reach the orchid only to find that Kimi's team have already made it there.
• 21:47
SPEAKER_04: Ben gives Locke very specific instructions on what to do once inside the station, which involves finding a secret elevator to the real station.
• 21:56
SPEAKER_04: He hands him his telescopic baton, then walks out into the open where Kimi's team can see him.
• 22:03
SPEAKER_04: Kimi comes out and Ben surrenders.
• 22:06
SPEAKER_04: Kimi holds a gun to Ben's head but then hits him with it instead.
• 22:13
SPEAKER_01: I mean, obviously he couldn't shoot him because that'd be the like goes against the scripts.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_01: But if you dare to kill him, why not just kill him?
• 22:23
  SPEAKER_01: Unless they want information.
• 22:24
  SPEAKER_04: Well no.
• 22:25
SPEAKER_04: They'll k they they were gonna kill whoever, but they wanted to take Ben alive.
• 22:29
SPEAKER_01: Ben was alive, that's right.
• 22:31
  SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right.
• 22:32
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 22:33
  SPEAKER_01: But I can understand.
• 22:35
SPEAKER_01: I kinda get one to kill Ben, though.
• 22:37
SPEAKER_01: Like he'll make you like he has a little moment, she's like uh Daniel arrives on the raft with Sun, Jin, Aaron, and the three Randoles, and Desmond helps them aboard.
• 22:51
SPEAKER_04: Daniel heads back to get more people to ferry, and Michael arrives and informs Desmond that the engines are fixed.
• 22:59
SPEAKER_04: And then, you know, it's like hew the faces, like, what?
• 23:03
  SPEAKER_04: Michael?
• 23:04
  SPEAKER_04: said son and gin?
• 23:06
  SPEAKER_04: You're here?
• 23:06
SPEAKER_04: No, they didn't say that.
• 23:09
SPEAKER_04: But that's what their face said.
• 23:10
SPEAKER_01: Their face said it all.
• 23:11
  SPEAKER_01: You're right.
• 23:12
SPEAKER_01: They're vice, their face said it in that accent and everything.
• 23:15
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 23:16
SPEAKER_04: In the bridge, Desmond has Hendrix, who acts as a helmsman, try the engine and it works.
• 23:22
SPEAKER_04: However, they can't move closer to the island because of some RF interference, which prevents them from being able to see the reef.
• 23:30
SPEAKER_04: The RF interference is coming from the boat.
• 23:33
SPEAKER_04: The call is coming from inside the boat.
• 23:37
SPEAKER_04: Desmond says he'll find the source and shut it off.
• 23:40
SPEAKER_04: Oh, and he does, but he doesn't.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_04: He does and he doesn't.
• 23:44
SPEAKER_04: He finds the source, he doesn't shut it off.
• 23:50
SPEAKER_01: You really need to be like a voice over narrator for people's lives.
• 24:00
SPEAKER_04: I think you have me confused with Morgan Freeman.
• 24:02
  SPEAKER_01: I want Samuel L.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_01: Jackson to be my narrator.
• 24:05
  SPEAKER_04: I think it's only fitting.
• 24:08
  SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
• 24:08
  SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much.
• 24:10
SPEAKER_00: I think it could be anyone's narrator at this point.
• 24:12
SPEAKER_04: I want him to be like the voice of my ways, honestly.
• 24:16
  SPEAKER_04: Turn right, motherfucker.
• 24:18
  SPEAKER_04: No.
• 24:18
  SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
• 24:24
  SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
• 24:25
  SPEAKER_00: You would Krista.
• 24:26
SPEAKER_00: I gotta you guys crack me up.
• 24:29
SPEAKER_04: Jin and Sun are talking to Michael, who explains his situation.
• 24:33
SPEAKER_04: Son is surprised to see him working for Ben, and he replies, he's not working for Ben.
• 24:38
SPEAKER_04: He's trying to atone for what he did.
• 24:40
SPEAKER_04: Desmond bursts out of the ship calling Michael for help.
• 24:45
SPEAKER_04: Jin, Michael, and son, who's carrying Aaron, follow him and he leads them to a room full of explosives.
• 24:51
SPEAKER_04: At what point should Desmond have been like, son, maybe you don't want to come with us?
• 24:55
SPEAKER_01: That's what I was thinking, but only because the baby's with her.
• 25:00
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 25:00
  SPEAKER_01: Only because, right.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_04: But Desmond probably didn't even notice who was following him.
• 25:05
SPEAKER_01: You know, to be fair, I can see that happening.
• 25:08
SPEAKER_01: Like in a manic in a moment of panic, you just very tunnel vision.
• 25:13
  SPEAKER_01: Literally and figuratively.
• 25:15
SPEAKER_04: But Jin is Jin tells Sun to leave, you know, and she goes back up on deck.
• 25:20
  SPEAKER_04: Flash forwards.
• 25:22
  SPEAKER_04: The Oceanic Six return.
• 25:26
  SPEAKER_04: Kate and Aaron.
• 25:28
SPEAKER_04: Two pilots are at the helm of a transport plane.
• 25:32
SPEAKER_04: The pilot chastises the co-pilot for clinging to his lucky charm, which is a rabbit's foot.
• 25:37
SPEAKER_04: The co-pilot says he has to be extra vigilant considering the cargo they're carrying.
• 25:43
SPEAKER_04: I feel like the cargo they're carrying should be considered like good luck, right?
• 25:48
SPEAKER_04: And we have a plane crash in the middle of the ocean, and despite, you know, quote unquote all the odds, those are the survivors who le live three months.
• 25:56
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_01: I think it's too I can see how it's so freaky that you're like, what the fuck?
• 26:02
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 26:04
SPEAKER_01: Well the fact that I mean, yeah, they survived, but they were on a plane that crashed to begin with.
• 26:10
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, you're right.
• 26:12
SPEAKER_04: Okay, I didn't even see that one.
• 26:17
  SPEAKER_04: Fucking obvious.
• 26:20
SPEAKER_01: Like in a captain hat and a captain cape or something, too?
• 26:23
  SPEAKER_04: Like you should.
• 26:24
SPEAKER_04: I mean, I would have flown into a wall.
• 26:28
SPEAKER_04: Karen Decker, who's an Oceanic Airlines representative, is strapped into the jump seat right behind them.
• 26:35
SPEAKER_04: The pilots tell Becker they're approaching the runway.
• 26:38
  SPEAKER_04: The Oceanic 6 are aboard a U.S.
• 26:41
SPEAKER_04: Coast Guard transport aircraft en route to a military location just west of Honolulu.
• 26:49
SPEAKER_04: Decker tells them that their families are waiting for them and that they don't have to speak to the press.
• 26:55
SPEAKER_04: Jack insists that they're alright with speaking to the press.
• 26:58
SPEAKER_04: The whole time he's speaking for all of them kind of annoyed me, and I figured it annoyed you too.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_01: Annoyed me to the highest level of annoyance because Jack was jacking.
• 27:10
SPEAKER_01: But to be fair, they lit him.
• 27:14
SPEAKER_04: But they let him right.
• 27:15
SPEAKER_01: And other than Saeed, okay, say what you're gonna say.
• 27:20
SPEAKER_01: But other than Saeed, there is really wasn't anyone else to take the lead.
• 27:26
SPEAKER_01: And who's the public going to listen to as a representative?
• 27:30
  SPEAKER_01: Saeed or Jack?
• 27:33
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's a good, that's definitely a good observation.
• 27:36
SPEAKER_01: And I think although Saeed is probably more eloquent, what do you say?
• 27:41
  SPEAKER_04: Aaron.
• 27:42
SPEAKER_01: Aaron would have been better, absolutely.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_01: And honestly, Said is more eloquent and able to convey messages quite intelligently.
• 27:51
  SPEAKER_01: He's a better speaker, better representative.
• 27:55
SPEAKER_01: But you know, the brown guy versus the white guy.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_04: Well, not just the brown guy, but the the brown guy from Iraq.
• 28:02
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 28:04
  SPEAKER_01: So fuck.
• 28:07
SPEAKER_01: So I think for them it was like a no-brainer.
• 28:10
SPEAKER_01: Like, who else in their head?
• 28:11
  SPEAKER_01: They're like in the character's head.
• 28:14
  SPEAKER_01: Who else?
• 28:15
SPEAKER_01: There's no one else here to speak.
• 28:17
  SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
• 28:17
  SPEAKER_05: Right.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 28:19
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 28:20
  SPEAKER_01: Fucking A.
• 28:22
SPEAKER_04: The woman leaves, and Jack tells the rest to stick to the story, and that if they don't have an answer, to just stay quiet and the press will assume that they're in shock.
• 28:31
SPEAKER_04: Sun replies that they are in shock, to which Jack replies, then this should be easy.
• 28:37
SPEAKER_04: The six exit the back of the transport.
• 28:41
SPEAKER_04: Carmen and David Reyes, Mr.
• 28:43
  SPEAKER_04: and Mrs.
• 28:43
SPEAKER_04: Peck, and Margot Shepherd are all waiting for them.
• 28:46
SPEAKER_04: The three families are overjoyed to see each other.
• 28:49
SPEAKER_04: Said and Kate have no one greeting them.
• 28:52
SPEAKER_04: Hugo jumps back after hugging his mom hello, and he introduces Said, who gets the full family hug treatment.
• 28:58
SPEAKER_04: I was surpr I thought like not that I thought, but like I'm I'm surprised that they didn't have him grab Kate instead.
• 29:07
SPEAKER_01: I think, but if I remember correctly, his yes, he's a gentleman, but also he and Saeed had more time together.
• 29:18
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I guess.
• 29:22
SPEAKER_04: As the remainder of the six meet up with their families, Kate just holds on tight to the baby and looks around alone.
• 29:28
  SPEAKER_01: That was sad.
• 29:30
SPEAKER_04: Well, it could have been worse, right?
• 29:33
SPEAKER_04: She could have not been alone because it could have been a fucking marshal there waiting for her.
• 29:36
SPEAKER_01: I kind of have expected that too.
• 29:38
SPEAKER_01: But I think, but, and I'm like, no, the optics, they wouldn't have done that.
• 29:42
SPEAKER_01: Like this what they the plane crashed, they were deserted, they would have thought they were dead.
• 29:47
SPEAKER_04: I feel like that would have been even more juicy because then it would have been like, you know, you're holding a fucking press conference, and then it's like, ooh, escaped fugitive.
• 29:58
SPEAKER_01: I I I could you imagine what the news stories that the news, but I think as a as at optics for the law enforcement, they're like these people just survived hell.
• 30:11
SPEAKER_01: Now you're gonna just drag her, like cognitive, we know where to find her.
• 30:15
  SPEAKER_04: That's true.
• 30:16
SPEAKER_01: I think that was more like they're like, okay, let's just wait a second.
• 30:19
SPEAKER_04: Because she's one of the most recognizable people in the world now, right?
• 30:22
SPEAKER_01: And I think they're just like, let's just put a pen in that for a second.
• 30:26
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 30:28
SPEAKER_01: So now we're oh, and I'm sure, like, before they landed on US territory, they already knew that she had a baby, so they're like, Yeah, this let's hold off on this shit right now.
• 30:44
SPEAKER_04: The Oceanic Six press conference.
• 30:47
  SPEAKER_04: So this is Saeed.
• 30:50
SPEAKER_04: Later, Oceanic holds a press conference with the Oceanic Six.
• 30:55
SPEAKER_04: Karen Decker presents a fabricated story of how the Oceanic Six survived based on the already found staged wreckage of Flight A15 at the bottom of the Sunda Trench in the Indian Ocean.
• 31:08
SPEAKER_04: According to the story, the survivors were carried by the ocean's current after the crash to the uninhabited island of Membata, where they survived for 108 days.
• 31:20
SPEAKER_04: On the 103rd day, a typhoon washed up the remnants of an Indonesian fishing boat, including a survival raft, on which they traveled to the Indonesian island of Sumba to find rescue.
• 31:33
SPEAKER_04: How lucky for them that there was a typhoon that they could blame a uh raft on happened.
• 31:40
SPEAKER_01: I think well, what I'll give you my opinion on that on after part three.
• 31:47
  SPEAKER_04: Okay.
• 31:48
  SPEAKER_01: Just remind me.
• 31:49
  SPEAKER_04: Okay.
• 31:51
SPEAKER_04: The six then take questions from the press.
• 31:53
SPEAKER_04: Jack is asked what it was like when the plane hit the water.
• 31:58
SPEAKER_04: And he remind he responds by saying that it all happened very fast.
• 32:02
SPEAKER_04: He claims he and a few others made it to one of the doors and got out of the plane and stayed afloat using life jackets and seat cushions until the tide brought them ashore.
• 32:12
SPEAKER_04: By that point, he claims there were only eight of them left.
• 32:15
SPEAKER_04: One reporter suggests that for having been trapped on an island for the amount of time that they were, they looked to be in remarkable health.
• 32:23
SPEAKER_04: Hurley asks if that question is directed at him, and everybody laughs.
• 32:28
SPEAKER_04: The same reporter asks Hurley what it will be like to get his money back.
• 32:32
SPEAKER_04: He says he doesn't want it back because it brought bad luck.
• 32:36
SPEAKER_04: Another reporter asks Sun a question in Korean.
• 32:40
SPEAKER_04: One of the news reporters calls out for translation and Sun translates the question to be whether Jin was one of the tr the passengers who made it out of the plane.
• 32:50
SPEAKER_04: And she responds no, he died in the crash.
• 32:54
SPEAKER_04: Kate is asked what it was like giving birth on the island, to which she replied scary.
• 32:59
SPEAKER_04: At the time of the press conference, Aaron should be about five weeks old, and the reporter follows up by challenging her version, noting that she would have been six months pregnant when she was apprehended in Australia.
• 33:13
SPEAKER_04: Decker hastily cuts off the sign of questioning and explains that her legal issues are off the table.
• 33:19
SPEAKER_04: When asked about the possibility that other survivors might yet be found, Said replies no, absolutely not.
• 33:28
SPEAKER_04: So as a side note, there was an enhanced episode that aired, and Jack named the other three survivors as Boone, who died of massive internal injuries, a woman named Libby, who also died within the first week, and Charlie, who drowned just a few weeks before they got off the island.
• 33:53
SPEAKER_04: And Said also confirmed that he will not be returning to Iraq saying there was nothing for me in Iraq.
• 33:59
SPEAKER_04: So I like that it like it's interesting because as a you know, just to continue with the side note, he names three other people who had pretty prominent roles in the show for us.
• 34:14
SPEAKER_04: And he kind of told the truth about how they, you know, like the circumstances of their death.
• 34:22
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 34:23
SPEAKER_04: And each one of them was a main kill scene.
• 34:30
SPEAKER_04: But each each of those people were a major death.
• 34:34
SPEAKER_04: So it's Boone, Libby, and Charlie.
• 34:36
SPEAKER_04: Boone died in the first season, Libby in the second, and Charlie in the third.
• 34:40
SPEAKER_04: So I like that it's almost like an like an homage to those characters.
• 34:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 34:49
SPEAKER_01: Question is it Amish or Homage?
• 34:53
SPEAKER_04: I guess it depends if you're French or not.
• 34:56
  SPEAKER_01: Homage.
• 34:59
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 35:03
SPEAKER_04: After the press conference, Karen tells Sae that there's a woman outside who claims to know him.
• 35:08
  SPEAKER_04: Nor Abed Jassim.
• 35:11
SPEAKER_04: He heads outside where he sees Nadia and they embrace.
• 35:15
  SPEAKER_04: Next is Sun.
• 35:17
  SPEAKER_04: Peck Industries.
• 35:19
SPEAKER_04: Yet another scene where Sun's remind where Sun reminds us where you don't fuck with son.
• 35:25
  SPEAKER_01: I loved this scene.
• 35:29
SPEAKER_04: You don't fuck with cats and you don't fuck with son.
• 35:32
  SPEAKER_01: Don't yeah.
• 35:35
  SPEAKER_01: I yeah.
• 35:37
SPEAKER_01: And then yeah, she I don't say she continues to surprise me because I'm not surprised by it.
• 35:42
SPEAKER_01: Because we see that she's a strong person.
• 35:44
SPEAKER_01: I am continue to I am continue to be validated in my life for Sun.
• 35:51
  SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, yeah.
• 35:53
SPEAKER_04: Sometime later, son goes to her father's office.
• 35:57
SPEAKER_04: Well, we know that it's not that much later because she's you know, she's she's pregnant, she's visibly pregnant.
• 36:02
SPEAKER_04: So we we know like more or less the timeline.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_01: I like to call it back to the future because we've already seen a future after she's already obviously had the baby, but this is kind of like goes back again.
• 36:14
SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, oh, this is what back to the future is then.
• 36:19
SPEAKER_04: When she arrives, two men are there explaining about an upsetting incident involving five different things.
• 36:26
  SPEAKER_04: He sends them away.
• 36:27
SPEAKER_04: Sun asks if anything is wrong, and Mr.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_04: Pack replies that it's company business and she wouldn't understand.
• 36:34
  SPEAKER_04: That's what you think.
• 36:36
SPEAKER_04: She then accuses him of having hated Jin and tells him that she considers him to be one of the two people responsible for his death.
• 36:47
SPEAKER_04: Who do you think the other one is?
• 36:50
SPEAKER_01: I know who the obvious choice would be.
• 36:53
SPEAKER_01: And that is Obvious would be Jack that kept them from going back.
• 36:57
SPEAKER_01: Like, no, we got we're gonna go back.
• 36:58
SPEAKER_01: He's like, no, no, no.
• 37:00
SPEAKER_01: Or maybe even Kate, where you're like, Oh, you said you're gonna go and get him.
• 37:05
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 37:06
SPEAKER_01: But I think it's Ben, and I'll tell you why.
• 37:10
SPEAKER_04: And the next time Frank, Frank was the one driving the damn helicopter.
• 37:14
SPEAKER_04: Um Jack doesn't take orders from uh Frank doesn't take orders from Jack.
• 37:20
SPEAKER_04: So I there's a scene taking orders from anybody, really.
• 37:24
  SPEAKER_01: No, right.
• 37:26
SPEAKER_01: There's a scene, and I think that in part two, and there's a scene in part three, scene in part this part.
• 37:33
SPEAKER_01: I was like, hmm, I don't want to go to the obvious.
• 37:36
SPEAKER_01: I said, at this point, I said I don't want to, I don't want to know the obvious because it's this lost.
• 37:42
SPEAKER_01: Scene in part two, I was like, nope, that makes sense.
• 37:45
SPEAKER_01: And then in part three, I was like, yep, this is my opinion, and this is and this is how my opinion works.
• 37:53
SPEAKER_04: She reveals that Oceanic Airlines has given her a significant settlement, which she used to purchase controlling interest in peck industries.
• 38:03
SPEAKER_04: She then tells her father that once she has her baby, she intends to discuss her plans for the company's new direction.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_04: And he's just like, Yes, you go, girl.
• 38:13
SPEAKER_01: And she was so calm and matter-of fact, and her eyes were so filled with hate, and it was like, Yeah, bitch.
• 38:23
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 38:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, do the damn thing.
• 38:27
SPEAKER_04: Hurley and his surprise party.
• 38:30
SPEAKER_04: Later, Hurley is shown walking through his house, which appears to be empty.
• 38:35
SPEAKER_04: However, he's startled when he sees a coconut on the ground and begins to hear whispers.
• 38:40
SPEAKER_04: He picks up a small statue of Jesus to use as a weapon and slowly moves towards the voices.
• 38:47
SPEAKER_04: As he opens the door, the whispers are revealed to be a large group of friends and family surprising him with a birthday party.
• 38:54
SPEAKER_04: His mother scolds him for contemplating uses the statue at a weapon using the statue as a weapon.
• 38:59
SPEAKER_04: She's like, Jesus is not a weapon.
• 39:01
SPEAKER_01: Now the funny shit is I laugh because I'm like, hey, if anyone's gonna protect you, it's the Jesus statue.
• 39:07
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 39:09
  SPEAKER_01: It's like I think it was a I don't know.
• 39:13
SPEAKER_01: Maybe it was just meant to be funny, like a little tongue in cheek, but at the same time, it was kind of fitting while being humorous, kind of like, yeah, that was amazing.
• 39:24
SPEAKER_01: That choice of the statue was funny on so many levels.
• 39:28
SPEAKER_04: At the party, Said, Nadia, Kate, and Aaron are present.
• 39:32
SPEAKER_04: Kate mentions that Jack is running late.
• 39:35
SPEAKER_04: Did you notice what was on Saeed's hand?
• 39:40
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 39:42
SPEAKER_01: Oh, right, yes, because in a past flashback, they said that was his wife.
• 39:50
  SPEAKER_04: Right, right.
• 39:51
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they when they show up to the party, Said has a wedding band on.
• 39:55
SPEAKER_04: So I think it's safe to assume him and Nadia have been married by this point.
• 40:00
  SPEAKER_04: Maybe possibly.
• 40:01
SPEAKER_01: I think I yeah, I didn't notice it, but at this point, kind of figured out like it is what it is.
• 40:07
SPEAKER_04: Hurley's father takes him aside to show him his birthday present, which is the Camaro that they had worked on previously.
• 40:14
SPEAKER_04: He mentions that once he thought Hurley was dead, he began to finish working on the car's tribute, and he gives Hurley the keys.
• 40:21
SPEAKER_04: The keychain has a rabbit's foot on it.
• 40:25
SPEAKER_01: I don't think a rabbit's foot is as lucky as people think it is for these people.
• 40:29
SPEAKER_04: I guess Hurley and his father sit inside to take it for a drive, but Hurley immediately notices the numbers on the car's odometer and trip counter.
• 40:41
  SPEAKER_04: I wouldn't drive that shit either.
• 40:43
SPEAKER_01: No, I probably would have burned it like in the middle of the street.
• 40:46
SPEAKER_01: But like splash holy water on it at the same time, and then pray to every god and goddess out there just to cover my ass.
• 40:56
SPEAKER_04: He he exits the car and you see him running down the street away from the Camaro.
• 41:02
  SPEAKER_04: Run Hurley, run.
• 41:05
SPEAKER_04: Next up is Jack and Christian's eulogy.
• 41:09
  SPEAKER_01: This bothered me.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm gonna tell not bothered me, but there's a particular use of phrase.
• 41:15
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, mm, but go ahead.
• 41:19
  SPEAKER_01: Do that.
• 41:20
SPEAKER_04: Ten months after the crash, Jack delivers a eulogy at his father's memorial service.
• 41:25
SPEAKER_04: He expresses remorse over not having the body present, saying he loves his father.
• 41:30
SPEAKER_04: After the ceremony, Carol Littleton approaches him.
• 41:34
SPEAKER_04: She explains her story, revealing to Jack that Claire, whom she believes they never met, was his half-sister and was also on the plane.
• 41:44
SPEAKER_04: Jack is obviously shaken at the news.
• 41:47
SPEAKER_04: Carol then approaches Kate, complimenting Aaron, unaware that he's her grandson.
• 41:53
SPEAKER_01: So during his eulogy, and I know the synopsis didn't say it, but during his eulogy, he said, Dad, I loved you.
• 42:01
SPEAKER_01: He used a past tense.
• 42:03
SPEAKER_01: I don't want to say it irked me, but I thought it very weird.
• 42:06
  SPEAKER_01: I because I feel I don't know.
• 42:09
SPEAKER_01: Maybe, because I feel like even after they pass, you love is a current, is you don't if you don't stop a person, yeah.
• 42:15
SPEAKER_01: Right, you don't stop loving them.
• 42:17
SPEAKER_01: And maybe he would have said, maybe he was trying to make a point that regardless of their issues, he loved him.
• 42:25
SPEAKER_01: But if he would have been like, I loved you, and I still do, or always will, it would have been different.
• 42:29
SPEAKER_01: He just like, yeah, I loved you.
• 42:31
SPEAKER_01: I was just like, the little scratch.
• 42:33
SPEAKER_01: I was like, and I don't know, maybe I'm the only one that caught that, but felt that it was telling that he was, I don't know.
• 42:43
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I loved you.
• 42:44
  SPEAKER_04: And obviously, they're a weird family.
• 42:47
SPEAKER_04: His motherfucking kissed him in the mouth when he got back.
• 42:49
SPEAKER_01: Yes, oh my god, I saw that shit.
• 42:51
SPEAKER_01: I was like, like, you know, sometimes I'm multitasking, but I was actually able to watch, and I was just like, ow, yeah, it was a little much.
• 42:59
SPEAKER_04: Like at a grown like families do that, but I felt like that one was a little much, unless you're like two or three.
• 43:06
SPEAKER_01: Axel still kisses on the mouth because he's a baby.
• 43:09
SPEAKER_04: He still he doesn't, but grown ass, no, like we have family members that do that, but I feel like it's it's not like mother and son.
• 43:23
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's you know, it's not even like close relation.
• 43:28
SPEAKER_04: And I think like I don't take it, I don't ever take it as like a sexual thing.
• 43:31
  SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think it's a sexual thing.
• 43:33
SPEAKER_04: I just think it's uh But I feel like mother and kid is like just weird kid is is a little weirder.
• 43:39
SPEAKER_01: But I mean personally, I don't kiss anyone the mouth unless it's an intimate kiss, period.
• 43:44
SPEAKER_01: Unless you're a child, unless you're like my my my my two my three-year-old grandchild who just like I always see is kisses, he knows he doesn't know.
• 43:51
SPEAKER_04: But um it's just different cultures, maybe.
• 43:54
SPEAKER_01: I just know, but uh but no, I don't want to kiss anyone mouth, and even then, if it's even as intimate, I'm like it's kind of it depends on how intimate we are like and I don't mean just sexually because you can ask someone and not even want to kiss in the mouth.
• 44:10
SPEAKER_04: Pretty pretty woman had it right when she said I don't kiss in the mouth, right?
• 44:14
SPEAKER_01: She absolutely did because it's more there's a level of intimacy of that that's higher than even that is way more intimate than other as opposed to exchanging ugly bodies with.
• 44:25
SPEAKER_02: I find that funny, but anyway.
• 44:27
SPEAKER_04: I know, but just kissing in the mouth is way more intimate.
• 44:29
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 44:30
SPEAKER_02: Okay, so I'm not crazy.
• 44:32
SPEAKER_02: At least not for that reason.
• 44:33
  SPEAKER_04: No.
• 44:34
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, cool.
• 44:35
SPEAKER_04: Okay, we're gonna move on to the second part, which depending on how you watch, you see the part one and then and then an extended part two, or basically like part one and then now part two.
• 44:47
  SPEAKER_02: Part two.
• 44:48
SPEAKER_02: This actually, before we go on, the the him being told about Claire and Aaron makes sense in the pack in the back of the future scene, or the future, future scene.
• 45:00
  SPEAKER_02: I forgot.
• 45:01
  SPEAKER_02: The future future scene.
• 45:02
SPEAKER_02: Where he and like he's kind of like pulled away from Claire and like this during the trial, and they had he had pulled away from Claire and Aaron before they got after this part, right?
• 45:15
  SPEAKER_01: Before that, yeah.
• 45:16
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, okay, that makes sense.
• 45:17
  SPEAKER_01: He's really weird.
• 45:19
  SPEAKER_01: That's his nephew now.
• 45:20
SPEAKER_04: It's implied that Jack and Kate are still together here, right now.
• 45:24
  SPEAKER_04: Yes.
• 45:25
SPEAKER_01: Kate, Kate is like Kate is there with him, and yes, but during the trials, obviously they weren't, and this makes sense now.
• 45:33
SPEAKER_01: Okay, he's kind of weirded out, like, what the fuck?
• 45:36
SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm taking this is like my sister, I didn't know I had, and this is not my nephew, or that from my father's like maybe baby.
• 45:46
SPEAKER_01: It and he throws back at her, you're not even related to him, yes, and that didn't make and we just assumed, like, okay, right, because she's not related to him, you know, like anything of it.
• 45:59
SPEAKER_01: But it's not, but you're not related to him.
• 46:01
SPEAKER_01: Now he's like right, it could also have that meaning, it's a double meaning, but at the same time, that makes it worse for you because you are related to him, you still pull that you know what I mean, or I mean, or right, just play devil's advocate.
• 46:15
SPEAKER_04: It that could be the irony of it, is that he's telling her, and then he doesn't even know that he is.
• 46:23
SPEAKER_01: No, but I no, when they but at at that time, that I think the trial happened after this scene.
• 46:31
  SPEAKER_01: So he knows.
• 46:32
  SPEAKER_04: Well, okay, hold on.
• 46:35
SPEAKER_04: The scene where he says you're not related to him was during the trial.
• 46:39
  SPEAKER_04: That's no, was it?
• 46:41
SPEAKER_01: I thought that was when he oh that oh wait, that happened after they're together, right?
• 46:48
SPEAKER_01: And they broke up and then he pulled away again.
• 46:50
SPEAKER_01: He has a habit of pulling away, let's be fair.
• 46:53
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 46:54
SPEAKER_01: Okay, you're right, that did happen.
• 46:56
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there are I'm not sure where well they said 10 months later, so clearly son has already had her baby, and but this is still before drugged and drunk Jack.
• 47:12
SPEAKER_01: Right, right, and this is right, because the beginning of him getting like drugged and drunk, they were living together happy.
• 47:22
SPEAKER_01: He had his own practice.
• 47:24
SPEAKER_01: This is after the trial.
• 47:26
  SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah.
• 47:28
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, so now I don't remember.
• 47:29
SPEAKER_01: He has a but he has a habit of pulling away though.
• 47:33
SPEAKER_01: So this we like he like I love you, but I gotta pull away.
• 47:36
SPEAKER_02: Like, obviously, when during her trial, she's like, Do you want to come by and see him?
• 47:41
SPEAKER_02: And you know, there was that whole obviously he wasn't in the picture like he was now, right?
• 47:51
SPEAKER_02: So I'm confused, but no, that you're right now.
• 47:54
  SPEAKER_02: I'm confused.
• 47:55
SPEAKER_02: I don't remember when he said you're not related to him.
• 47:58
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that was after they were together, he started getting drunk and drugged.
• 48:02
  SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
• 48:03
SPEAKER_04: That was like the beginning of his the beginning of the end.
• 48:06
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 48:07
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, part two.
• 48:09
  SPEAKER_04: Part two.
• 48:10
SPEAKER_02: All right, people, whoever's listening, do you refill your drinks?
• 48:14
SPEAKER_02: Oh, put more ice in your drink, add more liquor, go to pee pee break.
• 48:20
SPEAKER_04: Yes, actually, we should I should take a pee-pee break, but let's see how far I can get.
• 48:24
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, let's see.
• 48:25
  SPEAKER_02: Let's let's play games.
• 48:26
  SPEAKER_02: Let's see.
• 48:28
SPEAKER_02: Let's see what the bladder wi-fi kicks in.
• 48:30
SPEAKER_04: Oh gosh, you you know what?
• 48:32
SPEAKER_04: Now you're talking about it, now I really have to go.
• 48:34
  SPEAKER_02: So go pee.
• 48:36
SPEAKER_02: Alyssa's are going to go pee.
• 48:38
  SPEAKER_04: What?
• 48:38
  SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
• 48:39
SPEAKER_04: They've probably taken us with me sing to you while you go tinkle.
• 48:46
SPEAKER_01: Turn the boss in on for them.
• 48:49
SPEAKER_01: Um now you should like you put in right now.
• 48:52
SPEAKER_01: You should edit in like running water.
• 48:54
  SPEAKER_04: Oh god.
• 48:56
  SPEAKER_04: Okay, ready?
• 48:57
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 48:58
  SPEAKER_04: Okay.
• 48:58
SPEAKER_04: Pee pee breaks, all done, drinks refilled.
• 49:02
SPEAKER_04: We're ready to move on.
• 49:03
SPEAKER_04: We are ready to move on to part two and three.
• 49:08
SPEAKER_01: But are we really ready, ready?
• 49:10
SPEAKER_01: I don't do it, but I don't know how ready we are.
• 49:13
SPEAKER_04: Well, I'm as ready as I'll ever be.
• 49:15
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 49:17
SPEAKER_01: May the odds be ever in your favorite listeners.
• 49:20
SPEAKER_04: Although, side note, the child got out of work and her dad picked her up.
• 49:27
SPEAKER_04: Oh! So I could drink more.
• 49:30
SPEAKER_04: Woohoo! If her dad decides to come upstairs and bring me a margarita, that'd be even better.
• 49:37
  SPEAKER_04: I'd like that.
• 49:40
SPEAKER_04: Let me put those vibes out.
• 49:43
  SPEAKER_01: Positive vibes, positive energy.
• 49:46
SPEAKER_04: We're back on the island and we're in the orchid's greenhouse.
• 49:49
SPEAKER_04: Jack and Sawyer catch up with Hurley at the orchid.
• 49:53
SPEAKER_04: Locke is trying to locate the elevator to the underground area.
• 49:57
SPEAKER_04: He tells Jack that he has to lie when he gets off the island to protect it.
• 50:01
  SPEAKER_04: Jack's Jack's like, it's an island, it doesn't need protection.
• 50:06
  SPEAKER_01: Shut up.
• 50:07
SPEAKER_01: Like, dude, haven't you seen enough shit?
• 50:10
SPEAKER_01: And then, okay, let's say you didn't need protection.
• 50:13
SPEAKER_01: Obviously, people are still there.
• 50:16
SPEAKER_01: Like, would it be easier to lie and they're gonna let the lie?
• 50:21
  SPEAKER_04: I know.
• 50:23
SPEAKER_04: Locke also tries to persuade Jack to stay on the island and fulfill his destiny, suggesting that the island is a place where miracles happen.
• 50:31
SPEAKER_04: Jack argues there's no such thing, and John is like, you just wait, motherfucker.
• 50:38
SPEAKER_04: Jack chooses to leave with Sawyer and Hurley for the helicopter, although Hurley warns them that Kimi and his men were already headed there.
• 50:46
SPEAKER_04: Ben is taken by Kimi to the helicopter where they find Frank still handcuffed but trying to free himself with the aid of the toolbox.
• 50:53
SPEAKER_04: I like Kimi is like, how did he get that?
• 50:56
SPEAKER_04: And Frank just throws his tool down, is like, oh fuck.
• 50:59
SPEAKER_04: Like that's not his word, but he's like, oh fuck.
• 51:01
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 51:02
SPEAKER_04: Like he don't even care.
• 51:04
  SPEAKER_04: He's just like, fuck.
• 51:05
SPEAKER_04: Not like, oh I'm so sorry.
• 51:07
  SPEAKER_04: Like, no, fuck.
• 51:09
SPEAKER_01: Because when they go, what up back to I like that, yeah.
• 51:13
  SPEAKER_01: He's us.
• 51:14
  SPEAKER_01: Like, and Sawyer.
• 51:15
  SPEAKER_01: He's the resident.
• 51:16
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 51:17
  SPEAKER_01: Like, right.
• 51:17
SPEAKER_04: Frank was the resident New Yorker on that fucking island.
• 51:21
SPEAKER_01: Did they say where he was from?
• 51:22
  SPEAKER_01: Out of curiosity.
• 51:23
SPEAKER_04: Well, he said they said his his dad um was was from the Bronx.
• 51:29
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
• 51:30
  SPEAKER_01: Explains it all.
• 51:30
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 51:31
SPEAKER_04: It's like what nationality are you?
• 51:33
  SPEAKER_04: New Yorker.
• 51:34
  SPEAKER_01: New Yorker.
• 51:35
  SPEAKER_01: What ethnicity?
• 51:36
  SPEAKER_01: New Yorker.
• 51:37
SPEAKER_01: No, what nationality, New Yorker?
• 51:39
  SPEAKER_01: What ethnicity, Brooklyn?
• 51:40
  SPEAKER_04: New York City or.
• 51:42
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's it's it's understood for normal people.
• 51:45
SPEAKER_01: It's understood for the if you know, you know.
• 51:48
  SPEAKER_04: But in fairness, right?
• 51:49
SPEAKER_04: If if you lived in one of those towns upstate, like you still technically are from New York.
• 51:55
SPEAKER_01: Technically, like the rest of the whole entire state.
• 51:57
SPEAKER_01: You technically are from New York.
• 51:59
SPEAKER_04: Although when in New York, if you say where are you from, you don't say, like, or or even when you're, you know, it's like where you're from, oh, upstate.
• 52:09
SPEAKER_01: Like, even upstate, they know that they're not part of New York.
• 52:14
SPEAKER_04: Even when you're talking to like a non-New Yorker, chances are it's like, oh, upstate.
• 52:19
SPEAKER_04: Or they have to preface it, upstate New York.
• 52:21
SPEAKER_04: They know, like the same.
• 52:23
  SPEAKER_04: It's not the same.
• 52:24
SPEAKER_04: When asked by Kimi why she was running, she claims to being chased by his people.
• 52:31
SPEAKER_04: And she points to Ben.
• 52:32
SPEAKER_04: Kimi orders two members of his team to search the jungle as he and the remaining team form a perimeter.
• 52:39
SPEAKER_04: Kimi orders Kate onto her knees next to Ben.
• 52:42
  SPEAKER_04: That's what she said.
• 52:44
  SPEAKER_01: Beat me to it.
• 52:46
SPEAKER_04: With whom she exchanges knowing glances.
• 52:50
SPEAKER_04: As the team searches the jungle, the whispers are heard by everyone immediately before the others quickly ambush and begin eliminating the mercenaries.
• 52:59
SPEAKER_04: Light them up! Well they know.
• 53:06
  SPEAKER_01: The sentiment was there.
• 53:08
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 53:09
SPEAKER_04: The others then begin to trade gunfire with Kimi and his remaining team while Frank, Kate, and Ben take cover.
• 53:16
SPEAKER_04: One of the mercenaries, Redfern, is incapacitated with an electrical stunning weapon while Kimi takes cover behind a large rock.
• 53:24
SPEAKER_04: Kate tells Ben to stay close, then gives him the cue to run into the jungle.
• 53:29
SPEAKER_04: As Kimi breaks cover to chase Ben and Kate, Frank yells, grenade, as one lands at Kimi's feet.
• 53:36
SPEAKER_04: He kicks it away inadvertently, lobbing it to land at Omar's feet and dives back behind the rock.
• 53:43
SPEAKER_04: The grenade explodes and kills Omar.
• 53:46
SPEAKER_04: And as the debris settles, Kimi stands after Yeah.
• 53:51
SPEAKER_04: You know what Omar said?
• 53:53
  SPEAKER_04: It wasn't I'll catch a grenade for you.
• 53:57
SPEAKER_01: He's like, I am not Bruno Morris.
• 54:01
SPEAKER_04: We don't talk about Bruno.
• 54:02
SPEAKER_01: We don't talk about Bruno.
• 54:04
  SPEAKER_01: We are not Bruno.
• 54:08
SPEAKER_01: As far as music is concerned, I think we have about like a year and a half to two years of music that was straight like writer die hard love songs.
• 54:18
SPEAKER_01: Like Bruno Morris has his moment.
• 54:20
  SPEAKER_01: Adele.
• 54:22
SPEAKER_01: Gen X is like, yeah, no.
• 54:24
  SPEAKER_01: I'm not fucking, I'm not a Dell.
• 54:26
  SPEAKER_01: I don't wish you well.
• 54:28
SPEAKER_01: Go fuck yourself and the horse you run in on.
• 54:30
SPEAKER_04: Like, I wish you well as long as you stay the fuck out of my way.
• 54:33
  SPEAKER_01: Like I don't give a fuck.
• 54:34
SPEAKER_04: Like, I think well enough.
• 54:36
  SPEAKER_01: Not even.
• 54:36
  SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm sorry.
• 54:40
SPEAKER_04: I mean, listen, I don't wish you evil, but at the same time, like I think that's really what happened is that she was like, I wish you well.
• 54:50
SPEAKER_04: And then they're like, stop right there.
• 54:52
  SPEAKER_04: I wish you well.
• 54:53
SPEAKER_04: And she was like, say, I wish you well.
• 54:57
SPEAKER_04: Actually, I hope you get hit by a fucking bus.
• 54:59
SPEAKER_01: And then the yeah, the objection company was like, yeah, no, we like that.
• 55:04
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 55:04
SPEAKER_01: Meanwhile, back at the farm.
• 55:08
SPEAKER_01: Can you imagine a Gen X love song?
• 55:10
SPEAKER_01: Like, like our age right now.
• 55:11
SPEAKER_01: Not when we were growing up, but one of like if one of like mid-40s to mid-50s thought like writes a love song now, that would be fucking amazing.
• 55:21
  SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
• 55:22
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 55:23
SPEAKER_04: As Kimi nearly catches them, Saeed tackles him, and the two engage in a fierce fist fight.
• 55:30
SPEAKER_04: During the fight, they both desperately try to reach Kimi's gun.
• 55:34
SPEAKER_04: At one point, Saeed manages to get it and pointed at Kimi, only to have it kicked out of his hands.
• 55:40
SPEAKER_04: As they grapple to again retrieve the gun, Said quickly unsheathes the combat knight strapped to Kimi's leg and stabs him in the side of his torso in between his body armor.
• 55:51
SPEAKER_04: This only infuriates Kimi, who then beats Saeed to the ground.
• 55:56
SPEAKER_04: As he bends over to retrieve the knife, Saeed hits him from behind with the tree branch.
• 56:00
SPEAKER_04: The fight continues, and eventually Kimi gains the advantage, pitting Saeed and strangling him with the tree branch.
• 56:08
SPEAKER_01: This was actually one of the best fights I've seen on TV.
• 56:12
SPEAKER_01: Because it was it was they both took turns being like, oh, so it's always leading that soon, so it's has upper hand, and it wasn't just completely one-sided.
• 56:23
SPEAKER_01: It was a good fight.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_04: Just as Kimi appears to be killing Said, Richard Alpert arrives and shoots Kimi four times in the back.
• 56:33
SPEAKER_04: The rest of the others emerge from the jungle as Ben and Kate come running back.
• 56:39
SPEAKER_04: Kate helps Saeed to his feet, and Ben thanks Richard for coming, who tersely responds, My pleasure.
• 56:47
SPEAKER_04: Kate then picks up Kimi's bloody combat knife, and Ben asks her to cut him free from his restraints.
• 56:54
SPEAKER_01: I thought you said she'd gonna pick up his bloody condom.
• 56:57
SPEAKER_04: I don't know why I thought you were gonna That's a totally separate problem.
• 57:04
  SPEAKER_04: Okay.
• 57:06
SPEAKER_04: I think that might not be the show Lost, but maybe something like Lust.
• 57:15
SPEAKER_04: Oh after an awkward pause, she does so as Ben asks Richard nonchalantly over his shoulder, what was the arrangement?
• 57:24
SPEAKER_02: And Richard replies It does fall into my whole the arrangement.
• 57:31
SPEAKER_02: It does go into my little porn oversion.
• 57:35
SPEAKER_04: Richard replies, they help us free you, and we let them off the island.
• 57:40
SPEAKER_04: Ben quickly replies, fair enough, and tells Kate and Saeed that the helicopter is theirs, wishes them a safe journey back, and turns to leave.
• 57:48
SPEAKER_01: The nonchalants in this part had me dying.
• 57:52
SPEAKER_01: I was just like, I fucking love you, Ben.
• 57:54
SPEAKER_01: I love to watch Ben scenes.
• 57:57
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 57:58
SPEAKER_04: He's easily one of the most interesting characters on the show.
• 58:01
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
• 58:02
SPEAKER_01: Even when he's being a dick, is he still kind of likable in a way?
• 58:05
SPEAKER_01: Like, I love to watch him.
• 58:06
SPEAKER_01: And I could kind of you could there's a point that if people are honest with themselves, even with his dick, like this dick moves, it's still relatable.
• 58:17
  SPEAKER_04: It is, yeah.
• 58:19
SPEAKER_04: Like you you kind of wish that you could be that much of an asshole, but and it well and it'd be socially acceptable.
• 58:27
  SPEAKER_01: You don't care though.
• 58:31
SPEAKER_04: Kate and Saeed are understandably surprised, and Kate asks nervously, so we can go off the island?
• 58:39
  SPEAKER_04: That's it?
• 58:41
SPEAKER_04: Ben stops, turns to face them, and after an awkward pause, he concisely replies, That's it.
• 58:48
SPEAKER_04: Kate and Said then return to the helicopter while Ben returns to the orchid.
• 58:54
SPEAKER_04: On the freighter, Michael finds a canister of liquid nitrogen and after explaining his plan to Jin and Desmond, sprays it on the bomb's battery to freeze it and prevent electric current from igniting the C4 Desmond found rigged to the boat.
• 59:07
SPEAKER_04: While he buys time before the bomb goes off, Desmond and Jin frantically search for a way to disarm the explosives.
• 59:13
SPEAKER_04: But all they could come up with is boom.
• 59:17
SPEAKER_04: You do this, boom, boom.
• 59:18
SPEAKER_04: You do this, boom, boom.
• 59:20
SPEAKER_04: You do this, and then even Jen is like boom.
• 59:22
  SPEAKER_00: Boom.
• 59:24
  SPEAKER_00: He understands boom.
• 59:26
SPEAKER_04: I think a lot of people understand boom.
• 59:28
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 59:30
SPEAKER_04: Back on the island on the beach, Daniel comes back from the freighter with an empty raft.
• 59:34
SPEAKER_04: He tells Juliet about the freighter and how it's going to try to get as close as possible.
• 59:40
SPEAKER_04: Dan goes to get water while Juliet is getting the next group ready.
• 59:44
SPEAKER_04: She thanks him for helping the survivors.
• 59:47
SPEAKER_04: Meanwhile, Miles is helping himself to food supplies under Rose's watchful eye.
• 59:53
SPEAKER_04: Charlotte is packing her bag.
• 59:55
SPEAKER_04: Dan arrives and tells the two of them that he will be making his next trip in ten minutes and that they need to be on the boat.
• 1:00:01
SPEAKER_04: Miles tells him that while he realizes the situation is dire, he's going to stay on the island.
• 1:00:07
SPEAKER_04: Daniel then leaves to continue preparations for the next trip.
• 1:00:11
SPEAKER_04: Miles is surprised that Charlotte wants to leave the island after all the time she spent trying to get back to it.
• 1:00:17
SPEAKER_04: Charlotte asks what he means, but Miles is evasive.
• 1:00:20
  SPEAKER_04: He's like, What do I mean?
• 1:00:24
  SPEAKER_02: Such an ass.
• 1:00:26
  SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
• 1:00:27
SPEAKER_04: Sometime later, Charlotte approaches Dan and tells him that she's gonna stay for now.
• 1:00:32
SPEAKER_04: Dan points out that now on the island could mean forever.
• 1:00:37
  SPEAKER_04: Forever.
• 1:00:38
  SPEAKER_00: Forever.
• 1:00:40
SPEAKER_04: Charlotte replies, Would it make any sense if I told you I'm still looking for where I was born?
• 1:00:47
SPEAKER_04: So now we kinda know what the reason is that Charlotte has for being there, probably.
• 1:00:54
SPEAKER_04: I confirm nor deny nothing.
• 1:00:57
  SPEAKER_01: We know nothing.
• 1:00:59
  SPEAKER_04: You know nothing.
• 1:01:01
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, well yeah.
• 1:01:03
  SPEAKER_01: I know nothing.
• 1:01:05
SPEAKER_04: They part affectionately, and Daniel, now alone, goes back to the crowded raft.
• 1:01:11
SPEAKER_04: Juliette tells Dan that she will not leave the island until everyone is safe aboard the freighter, reassuring Dan that we will still be here when you get back.
• 1:01:19
SPEAKER_04: Daniel seems troubled, but he boards his raft with survivors and they head to the freighter.
• 1:01:25
  SPEAKER_04: I guess he wasn't that troubled.
• 1:01:27
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 1:01:29
SPEAKER_04: On the helicopter, Frank Frank, Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Said, and Hurley board the helicopter and take off to the freighter.
• 1:01:39
SPEAKER_04: Along the way, Frank notices that the helicopter is leaking gas.
• 1:01:44
SPEAKER_04: Because fuel is so low, Frank doesn't think they'll make it to the freighter.
• 1:01:47
SPEAKER_04: He tells him to throw anything out that isn't bolted bolted down.
• 1:01:51
SPEAKER_04: Halo's like, we're gonna go back to the island.
• 1:01:52
SPEAKER_04: Jack's like, there's no fuel on the island.
• 1:01:57
SPEAKER_00: Right, like what are we doing with that?
• 1:01:58
  SPEAKER_04: Coconut diesel?
• 1:02:00
SPEAKER_04: The passengers follow his orders, but he claims that losing another few hundred pounds wouldn't hurt.
• 1:02:06
  SPEAKER_04: Hurley is visibly distressed.
• 1:02:08
SPEAKER_04: After sizing up the situation, Sawyer whispers in Kate's ear, he kisses her and jumps from the helicopter.
• 1:02:15
SPEAKER_04: So this is the second moment where Sawyer shows his like his true colors.
• 1:02:22
SPEAKER_01: You know, this actually made me cry in a good way.
• 1:02:26
SPEAKER_01: Like in her it was a tear joker jerker.
• 1:02:29
SPEAKER_04: I mean, we know Sawyer tells Kate something, and so you could kind of assume that this is what Kate was doing when we saw it in the other scene that you know pissed Jack off because he she was doing something for Sawyer.
• 1:02:45
SPEAKER_01: Yes, we don't know what that is, but he whispered, yes, so right.
• 1:02:51
SPEAKER_01: I still think it had to do it with his daughter, maybe.
• 1:02:53
SPEAKER_04: Right, cuz because I think he tells her something like just do it.
• 1:02:57
SPEAKER_04: So um, and so like he he jumped out of the plane so that they could all land.
• 1:03:04
SPEAKER_04: And I think also to kind of save Pearlie a little stress because hello, I mean, he is the biggest one, and they need to drop more weight.
• 1:03:16
SPEAKER_04: Um Pearlie had that complex about his weight causing people to die.
• 1:03:22
SPEAKER_04: So, you know, in the orchid, Ben finds Locke with Jack.
• 1:03:29
SPEAKER_04: Jack Locke is unable to locate the entrance to the elevator because he doesn't know what anthuriums look like.
• 1:03:37
SPEAKER_04: Locke has not yet explained to Jack that they're going to move the island, but there's no time.
• 1:03:42
SPEAKER_04: Ben shows Locke the anthuriums, they enter the elevator and descend.
• 1:03:47
SPEAKER_04: Locke and Ben exit the elevator to find themselves in the orchid station.
• 1:03:51
SPEAKER_01: As they walk inside, the scene when he like the first part of the scene when he's like, I couldn't find it.
• 1:03:58
SPEAKER_01: He's like, This is it right here.
• 1:04:00
SPEAKER_01: Like it was so just like it was well camouflaged.
• 1:04:04
SPEAKER_01: Very, but not only that, their their reaction, like the way they spoke to each other was kind of like I couldn't find the tea, it was in the pantry.
• 1:04:11
SPEAKER_01: Like it was just kind of just like normal, you know, like this is it right here.
• 1:04:15
  SPEAKER_01: Hello, it's like ah man, I shouldn't know.
• 1:04:17
SPEAKER_01: Like, you know what I mean?
• 1:04:19
SPEAKER_01: It was a little bit like off-putting, and it was like, What the fuck?
• 1:04:23
SPEAKER_01: Like, like a jack, or anyone walk like were they trying to kill each other like five minutes ago and hear them talk about flowers?
• 1:04:29
SPEAKER_04: Like as they walk inside, Locke observes the various equipment and have a nearby television.
• 1:04:36
SPEAKER_04: He looks to Ben and asks, Is this the magic box?
• 1:04:39
SPEAKER_04: Ben looks back at him with an absurd look and says, No.
• 1:04:43
SPEAKER_04: Ben then offers Locke a video to answer all his questions about the station.
• 1:04:48
SPEAKER_04: He puts the video on the television and doctor Edgar Haliwax appears.
• 1:04:53
SPEAKER_04: In the video, Haliwax explains that the orchid is not really a botanical research station.
• 1:04:59
SPEAKER_04: Instead, the orchid was designed to investigate unique properties of the island, and it is these properties that create a kind of Casimir effect.
• 1:05:11
SPEAKER_04: He points to a white triangular door, calling it the vault.
• 1:05:16
SPEAKER_04: Haliwax explains that the vault was constructed adjacent to what they believe to be a pocket of negative charged exotic matter.
• 1:05:24
SPEAKER_04: Haliwax then warns the viewer never to place any metal objects inside the vault.
• 1:05:29
SPEAKER_04: He then places a white rabbit in the vault, closing the doors and stating that they will send it 100 milliseconds into the future.
• 1:05:37
SPEAKER_04: But then the VCR starts rewinding by itself.
• 1:05:41
SPEAKER_04: Locke never got to see the uh outcome.
• 1:05:44
  SPEAKER_04: Neither did he.
• 1:05:45
SPEAKER_01: This whole thing was hysterical.
• 1:05:47
SPEAKER_01: He's watching the video, he said, Don't put metal in it.
• 1:05:50
SPEAKER_01: And then he looks up and he sees Ben putting metal in it.
• 1:05:53
SPEAKER_01: He's like, he's looking up, he looked at the TV.
• 1:05:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:05:58
SPEAKER_00: This whole thing was hysterical.
• 1:06:01
SPEAKER_04: The elevator starts to ascend suddenly, and Ben asks Locke if he can have his weapon back.
• 1:06:06
SPEAKER_04: The elevator descends again and opens to reveal Kimi still alive.
• 1:06:11
SPEAKER_04: Kimi pulls out a knife and carefully enters the orchid.
• 1:06:14
SPEAKER_04: He begins to explain to Ben, who is hiding away, that if Ben kills him, the entire freighter will be destroyed and many innocent people killed.
• 1:06:23
SPEAKER_04: While he's speaking, the orchid orientation Video is running properly and is visible in the background on the monitor on which Locke had been viewing it earlier.
• 1:06:31
SPEAKER_04: Kimi begins to mock Alex's death, but suddenly Locke appears.
• 1:06:36
SPEAKER_04: Loc explains that he has no conflict with Kimi and that Kimi should allow the innocent people on the freighter to live.
• 1:06:42
SPEAKER_04: Ben, noticing Kimi is distracted, charges out with his collapsible baton and attacks, knocking the knife from Kimi's hand.
• 1:06:51
SPEAKER_04: Kimi tries to bend down to grab his knife.
• 1:06:53
SPEAKER_04: Doesn't he know that every time he fucking bends down to grab something he gets knocked out?
• 1:06:56
SPEAKER_01: You would think, but you know.
• 1:06:59
SPEAKER_01: He's another jack when nothing can happen to him.
• 1:07:02
SPEAKER_04: Causing him to stand back up.
• 1:07:05
SPEAKER_04: Ben then whacks Kimi in the face, knocking him down.
• 1:07:07
SPEAKER_04: Once Kimi is knocked down, Ben grabs Kimi's knife and stabs him twice.
• 1:07:12
SPEAKER_04: Locke pulls him off in an attempt to save Kimi and those on the freighter, but the damage is done and Kimi is left dying.
• 1:07:19
SPEAKER_04: Locke tells Ben that he just killed everyone on the freighter, to which Ben coldly responds, so Kimi tells Ben that Widmore will find him, and Ben replies not if I find him first.
• 1:07:32
SPEAKER_04: Despite Locke's best effort to save him, Kimi dies.
• 1:07:37
SPEAKER_04: Back on the freighter, when Kimi dies, the bomb is armed, but it does not explode immediately because of Michael's ingenuity in keeping the battery cool with the nitrogen.
• 1:07:47
SPEAKER_04: With the bomb armed, Michael tells Jin and Desmond to leave, but Jin stays behind to attempt to determine a way to disarm the bomb.
• 1:07:55
SPEAKER_04: As the helicopter arrives at the freighter, Desmond is frantically waving at them and warning them of the bomb about to go off.
• 1:08:02
SPEAKER_04: Frank lands anyway and hurriedly starts filling the tank and patching the leak.
• 1:08:07
SPEAKER_04: Michael realizes there isn't much liquid nitrogen left and tells Jin that he should leave the boat because he will soon be a father.
• 1:08:13
SPEAKER_04: Everyone gets back on board the helicopter, including Sun and Desmond.
• 1:08:18
  SPEAKER_04: Well not everyone, huh?
• 1:08:21
SPEAKER_04: Sun begs her fellow passengers to wait for Jin.
• 1:08:25
SPEAKER_04: Jin tries to run to safety, but he misses the helicopter as Frank takes off immediately after refueling.
• 1:08:32
SPEAKER_04: Sun becomes frantic as Jin yells for rescue from the freighter deck.
• 1:08:37
SPEAKER_04: Back in the freighter, Michael runs out of nitrogen and begins to hear his whispers.
• 1:08:42
SPEAKER_04: After the whispers stop, Christian Shepherd appears in the room containing the explosives, telling Michael, You can go now.
• 1:08:51
SPEAKER_04: The Kahana explodes, killing Michael and presumably everyone else on the on board.
• 1:08:57
SPEAKER_04: From the helicopter, Sun cries out in desperation over the loss of her husband.
• 1:09:04
  SPEAKER_01: I think Kimi really didn't care.
• 1:09:07
SPEAKER_01: I think he kind of he egged Ben on to kill him.
• 1:09:12
SPEAKER_01: So part of me felt like that was still like our plan was to set off that that bomb anyway.
• 1:09:18
SPEAKER_01: Because he had mentioned, he's like, oh, like I killed your daughter, and then it was on.
• 1:09:24
SPEAKER_01: Like, so I think part of it was just like fuck it.
• 1:09:27
SPEAKER_01: That was, I think that was a plan anyway.
• 1:09:29
SPEAKER_01: He's like, I can't do this part of my plan.
• 1:09:31
SPEAKER_01: I might as well look the freighter.
• 1:09:34
SPEAKER_04: He was, you know, so so copy that.
• 1:09:39
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe I think he knows I I had a feel maybe he doesn't know Ben, but I think he's seen enough of Ben to know that that wasn't going to work out anyway, but Ben going beast mode on him.
• 1:09:51
SPEAKER_01: And I think one of the smashes didn't go, like, yes, he said so.
• 1:09:55
SPEAKER_01: And I think it after he actually died, Locke said okay, like you killed everybody or everyone's dead now.
• 1:10:02
  SPEAKER_01: Whatever.
• 1:10:03
  SPEAKER_01: He said it again.
• 1:10:03
SPEAKER_01: He's like, not my problem.
• 1:10:05
SPEAKER_04: And I was just like, oh so much for Mr.
• 1:10:09
  SPEAKER_04: I don't kill innocent people.
• 1:10:11
SPEAKER_01: Well, we knew that was bullshit to begin with.
• 1:10:13
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 1:10:14
  SPEAKER_01: Um, I have a question.
• 1:10:15
SPEAKER_01: Why does Christian Shepard pop up all the time?
• 1:10:19
SPEAKER_01: Like to these people who don't know him.
• 1:10:21
  SPEAKER_04: That's a good question.
• 1:10:22
  SPEAKER_04: I'll write it down.
• 1:10:23
  SPEAKER_01: I fucking hate you.
• 1:10:25
SPEAKER_01: And I feel like like my god, was Christian Jacob?
• 1:10:30
SPEAKER_01: He does have a biblical name.
• 1:10:33
SPEAKER_04: Back on the island again.
• 1:10:35
SPEAKER_04: We're on the beach where Juliet is sitting alone with a bottle of rum.
• 1:10:40
SPEAKER_04: Sawyer arrives on the beach after having leaped from the helicopter.
• 1:10:43
SPEAKER_04: Seeing the bottle, he asks what Juliet is celebrating.
• 1:10:47
SPEAKER_04: And Juliet tells him that she's not celebrate celebrating and points to the smoke emanating from the destroyed freighter.
• 1:10:54
SPEAKER_04: He's like, Is that our boat?
• 1:10:56
  SPEAKER_04: She's like, it was.
• 1:10:59
SPEAKER_04: In the orchid, after killing Kimi, Ben operates the vault console and the metal inside creates an explosion.
• 1:11:08
SPEAKER_04: It opens a hole in the rear where Ben seeks to go.
• 1:11:11
SPEAKER_04: Loc stops him and demands to know why Ben killed Kimi, knowing it would end the lives of many innocent people on the freighter.
• 1:11:18
SPEAKER_04: Ben admits it was the wrong thing to do, and that his grief over Alex clouded his judgment.
• 1:11:25
SPEAKER_04: Ben tells Locke not to make the same mistakes as the new leader.
• 1:11:29
SPEAKER_04: Locke is subsequently confused, and Ben tells him that there is a price to pay to move the island.
• 1:11:36
SPEAKER_04: The person that moves it must leave and never return.
• 1:11:40
SPEAKER_04: Loc is reluctant to let Ben leave, but Ben offers a handshake, apologizing for all the misery he's inflicted on Locke.
• 1:11:47
SPEAKER_04: Loc accepts the handshake, and Ben, wearing a dark shirt shirt that he was seen wearing when he appeared in the desert and Haliwax's parka, darts off into the vault.
• 1:11:58
SPEAKER_04: So now we've connected that scene.
• 1:12:01
  SPEAKER_01: About time.
• 1:12:02
SPEAKER_01: Or at least Well, we didn't really it's connected, but I explained.
• 1:12:07
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 1:12:08
SPEAKER_01: Which is part of the cause for lost.
• 1:12:12
SPEAKER_04: Meanwhile, Locke leaves the orchid and heads to Richard and the others, following Ben's instructions.
• 1:12:17
SPEAKER_04: At his arrival, all of the others look surprised, and Richard tells him, Welcome home.
• 1:12:23
SPEAKER_04: Inside, the explosion has created a jagged opening into a long low passageway in the rock behind the vault.
• 1:12:30
SPEAKER_04: Ben clears the opening, then enters the passage until he reaches the ladder, which he descends.
• 1:12:36
SPEAKER_04: At the bottom of the ladder, Ben breaks a layer of ice, revealing another old and damaged wooden ladder.
• 1:12:43
SPEAKER_04: While descending further, a rung breaks and he falls down, cutting his right arm and ripping his jacket on the ladder.
• 1:12:50
SPEAKER_04: So now we see like these are really connected because not only is the same clothes but same wound.
• 1:12:56
SPEAKER_04: Ben finds himself inside a dark and icy room where stones are covered in hieroglyphs.
• 1:13:02
SPEAKER_04: There, across from Ben is a wall with a large wheel.
• 1:13:06
SPEAKER_04: After looking up and declaring, I hope you're happy now, Jacob, Ben proceeds to turn the wheel, though with great physical and emotional difficulty.
• 1:13:15
SPEAKER_04: The more the wheel is turned, the brighter the room becomes.
• 1:13:19
SPEAKER_04: Outside, the entire island emanates in otherworldly noise and the sky turns purple.
• 1:13:26
SPEAKER_04: Suddenly a light envelops the island and everything within the light disappears.
• 1:13:31
SPEAKER_04: I think you owe yourself a smack.
• 1:13:34
  SPEAKER_04: You look confused.
• 1:13:35
SPEAKER_01: Why do I have to smack myself this time?
• 1:13:38
SPEAKER_04: If you don't remember, you're just gonna have to wait.
• 1:13:41
SPEAKER_04: We're gonna have to wait for the bonus when I go over all the things.
• 1:13:45
SPEAKER_04: Like all the things that I couldn't tell you during the seasons.
• 1:13:48
SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have to I wanna have to smack myself just for per I don't know what I did.
• 1:13:52
SPEAKER_01: Did I forget to say something?
• 1:13:53
SPEAKER_01: What like did I miss the obvious?
• 1:13:56
  SPEAKER_01: I did.
• 1:13:56
SPEAKER_04: I is it I when we get there, you'll get there.
• 1:14:00
SPEAKER_01: Is it I told you so and I missed my moment?
• 1:14:03
  SPEAKER_04: No.
• 1:14:04
  SPEAKER_01: Fuck.
• 1:14:05
SPEAKER_04: I do know I a little bit, but maybe.
• 1:14:07
  SPEAKER_04: Okay, anyway.
• 1:14:08
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:14:08
  SPEAKER_04: Back at the helicopter.
• 1:14:10
SPEAKER_01: Fuck with my head a little bit, thank you.
• 1:14:12
SPEAKER_04: While the helicopter is leading back to the island, a bright light floods the sky and the island vanishes.
• 1:14:18
SPEAKER_04: Low on fuel and with nowhere to land, Frank tells them to put on life jackets and prepare for impact.
• 1:14:25
SPEAKER_04: Jack tells Frank to fly to another island, but Frank responds that there is no other island.
• 1:14:30
SPEAKER_04: Say throws the life raft into the water moments before impact.
• 1:14:34
SPEAKER_04: After the crash, the survivor swims towards the inflated raft.
• 1:14:38
SPEAKER_04: Frank rescues Desmond, who's floating face down in the water.
• 1:14:41
SPEAKER_04: He's not breathing, but Jack resuscitates him.
• 1:14:45
SPEAKER_04: Basically, we don't see anything else after this about the island.
• 1:14:49
SPEAKER_04: We have this is how it's left.
• 1:14:52
SPEAKER_04: We don't know what happened to the island, the people, nothing.
• 1:14:55
SPEAKER_04: After the island is moved, Jack, Kate, Aaron, Said, Hurley's son, and Frank and Desmond continue to float on the life raft.
• 1:15:04
SPEAKER_04: Everyone is quiet until Hurley observes that Locke moved the island.
• 1:15:09
SPEAKER_04: Jack becomes agitated and disagrees, to which Hurley challenges him to put forth a more plausible explanation, after which they're again sitting in silence.
• 1:15:21
SPEAKER_04: Soon after, Frank notices a nearby light and realizes it's a ship.
• 1:15:26
SPEAKER_04: Everyone begins shouting and a ship begins pulling up beside the life raft.
• 1:15:31
SPEAKER_04: At this point, Jack suddenly remembers Locke telling him to lie about what has happened to them, realizes that it must be done, and hastily shares this plan with the others in the life raft.
• 1:15:43
SPEAKER_04: On board the searcher, a crewman who is actually Henrik from the listening station frantically moves back and forth and calls out for Miss Whidmore.
• 1:15:53
SPEAKER_04: Penelope exits the bridge to see what's happening.
• 1:15:57
SPEAKER_04: Desmond hears Penny's voice as she directs the search the searcher crewmen to help the people aboard the raft.
• 1:16:03
SPEAKER_04: He calls up to her, Penny! Penny and jumps onto some netting to pull himself up to the ship and rushes to meet Penelope on deck.
• 1:16:17
SPEAKER_04: Reunited, Desmond quickly introduces Penny to the others from the life raft, and Jack, in Jack fashion, Jacks.
• 1:16:26
SPEAKER_04: He tells her, seriously, we need to talk.
• 1:16:32
  SPEAKER_04: Not thank you.
• 1:16:33
  SPEAKER_04: No.
• 1:16:34
  SPEAKER_04: We need to talk.
• 1:16:36
  SPEAKER_01: I can't.
• 1:16:36
SPEAKER_01: But this it was a happy moment for me.
• 1:16:44
SPEAKER_04: A week later, the Oceanic Six prepared to depart from her freighter with a well-established cover story while she, Desmond, and Frank stay behind.
• 1:16:53
SPEAKER_04: Jack tells Desmond to be careful now that they know what now that they know what Woodmore is capable of, and then quotes Desmond, see you in another life, brother.
• 1:17:03
SPEAKER_04: The Oceanic Six get on the life raft and head for the island of Sumba and back to civilization.
• 1:17:09
SPEAKER_04: Do you remember the scene in the Arctic with the listening station and all that?
• 1:17:14
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 1:17:14
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 1:17:15
SPEAKER_04: So it I think they actually hired the same actress too.
• 1:17:18
SPEAKER_01: I'm so pissed at myself.
• 1:17:20
  SPEAKER_04: Why?
• 1:17:21
SPEAKER_01: Because how many times do we talk about the Oceanic Six and I completely forgot about the damn baby?
• 1:17:26
SPEAKER_01: And I'm just focusing on people like the original people on the plane.
• 1:17:32
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:17:33
SPEAKER_01: Like, like technically, yes, he was on the plane, but he wasn't gonna manifest.
• 1:17:38
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 1:17:39
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, how did I forget the baby?
• 1:17:41
SPEAKER_01: I I felt like such an asshole.
• 1:17:44
SPEAKER_01: But honestly, to be fair, yes, he was he technically he wasn't one of the oceanic people.
• 1:17:52
  SPEAKER_04: He was a he wasn't born.
• 1:17:54
SPEAKER_04: He just wasn't breathing air at the time.
• 1:17:56
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I feel like it should have been, I don't know.
• 1:17:59
SPEAKER_01: I just technically speak, he was born on the island.
• 1:18:02
SPEAKER_01: So he wasn't on the you know, I just oh man, I wonder how many other people watching it real time didn't think about the baby.
• 1:18:10
SPEAKER_01: Did you think about the baby when you first watched it?
• 1:18:12
  SPEAKER_05: Nope.
• 1:18:13
SPEAKER_01: No, it wasn't an obvious thing.
• 1:18:15
SPEAKER_01: I mean, if he was already born on the plane, I think it would be something like okay, yeah, you count him, but think the fact that he was born after the fact, it you just slips your mind.
• 1:18:24
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 1:18:25
SPEAKER_01: Okay, they really should be the oceanic five, but the sixth just sounds better, but okay.
• 1:18:30
SPEAKER_04: Well, he's existed, so I mean they can't be like the oceanic five plus one.
• 1:18:36
  SPEAKER_01: I don't think what not, he's a backup dancer.
• 1:18:38
  SPEAKER_04: Five and a half.
• 1:18:42
SPEAKER_04: All right, in the flash forwards, we're at LAX, Jack and Kate, and we're picking up where the final scene of Through the Looking Glass left off.
• 1:18:52
SPEAKER_04: Jack calls after Kate's car.
• 1:18:53
SPEAKER_04: We have to go back.
• 1:18:54
SPEAKER_04: But instead, Kate reverses the car, gets out, and confronts him.
• 1:18:58
SPEAKER_04: She condemns him for condemns she condemns him for wanting to go back to the island, for calling her for two days straight while high on pills, and for showing her the obituary for Jeremy Bentham.
• 1:19:11
SPEAKER_04: She explains that Jeremy Bentham had met with her and that she knew from the first moment that he was crazy, and that she can't believe that Jack would trust him.
• 1:19:21
SPEAKER_04: Jack says he listened to Bentham because he was told that it was the only way to save Kate and Aaron.
• 1:19:27
SPEAKER_04: Kate slaps him for abandoning Aaron and tells him not to even say his name again.
• 1:19:32
SPEAKER_04: Jack tries to apologize, but Kate tells him she spent the last three years trying to forget all the horrible things that happened on the day that they left.
• 1:19:40
SPEAKER_04: She says she won't go back.
• 1:19:42
SPEAKER_04: She gets back in her car and she speeds away.
• 1:19:44
SPEAKER_01: Didn't this scene happen in the beginning of the episode?
• 1:19:48
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 1:19:49
SPEAKER_01: It happened at the beginning of the episode because it was during the last time on Lost, and then that part ended with it filtered right in.
• 1:19:57
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 1:19:57
SPEAKER_04: But so this is just the flash forwards are all grouped together here.
• 1:20:02
  SPEAKER_01: Gotcha.
• 1:20:02
SPEAKER_01: Tell them to stop confusing me.
• 1:20:04
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, got it.
• 1:20:06
SPEAKER_04: Next we're at the Santa Rosa Mental Institution for Hurley and Saeed.
• 1:20:12
SPEAKER_04: Walt visits Hurley in the mental institution with his grandmother, standing by to make sure that Hurley isn't dangerous.
• 1:20:19
SPEAKER_04: Walt asks why nobody came to visit him after their rescue.
• 1:20:23
SPEAKER_04: Hurley apologizes, but Walt adds that one person did come to see him, Jeremy Bentham.
• 1:20:30
SPEAKER_04: He asks why the Oceanic Six are all lying.
• 1:20:33
SPEAKER_04: Hurley whispers that they're lying to protect the people who remained on the island.
• 1:20:37
SPEAKER_04: Like my dad, asks Walt.
• 1:20:39
SPEAKER_04: Like your dad, yeah, replies a visible nervous Hurley.
• 1:20:43
SPEAKER_04: Said arrives at Hurley's mental institution late at night and executes a man in the parking lot.
• 1:20:48
SPEAKER_04: Said finds Hurley playing chess, apparently alone, opposite an empty chair.
• 1:20:53
SPEAKER_04: Said wants Hurley to come with him somewhere safe, but Hurley replies that he has not seen Saeed in like forever and doesn't understand why he should join him.
• 1:21:02
SPEAKER_04: Saeed replies that circumstances have changed.
• 1:21:05
SPEAKER_04: Bentham is dead, having supposedly killed himself two days ago.
• 1:21:09
SPEAKER_04: Hurley does not want to call Bentham by the alias and is about to call him by his real name when Saeed stops him, adding that they are being monitored.
• 1:21:18
SPEAKER_04: Hurley says that he has been having regular conversations with dead people, and the last thing he needs is paranoia.
• 1:21:25
SPEAKER_04: Said replies that he has just killed a man who had been watching Hurley for a week and that paranoia keeps him alive.
• 1:21:32
SPEAKER_04: Said assures Hurley that they are not going back to the island, merely somewhere safe.
• 1:21:37
SPEAKER_04: Hurley accepts, but just as he is about to leave the room, he makes one more move on the chessboard and says, Checkmate, Mr.
• 1:21:44
  SPEAKER_04: Echo.
• 1:21:45
SPEAKER_04: Was all the Jeremy Bentham shit like annoying to you?
• 1:21:48
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I have a habit of getting people, and I'm like, did I forget who this was?
• 1:21:53
SPEAKER_01: Did I forget who this was?
• 1:21:54
SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, no, I don't think I forgot who this was.
• 1:21:56
SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, okay, fine, I'll find out by next season.
• 1:21:59
  SPEAKER_01: I don't fuck.
• 1:22:00
SPEAKER_01: Like, I got to the point where I was like, I'm not gonna try to wreck like hit my head against the wall.
• 1:22:08
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll find out next year.
• 1:22:10
SPEAKER_04: I mean, it was a little like tongue-in-cheek, you know, it's just like a little way to like extend it, the the mystery a little longer.
• 1:22:18
SPEAKER_00: But like they needed another way.
• 1:22:21
SPEAKER_04: Well, but I'm glad that it it like they didn't push it past the episode.
• 1:22:27
SPEAKER_01: Yes, because I really expected to have to wait till next season.
• 1:22:30
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 1:22:31
  SPEAKER_01: And lost fashion.
• 1:22:33
SPEAKER_04: And then it's like, oh, but why bother calling him?
• 1:22:35
  SPEAKER_04: But I understand, right?
• 1:22:36
SPEAKER_04: If they really believe that they're being monitored, obviously they wouldn't want to use a real name because then that put raises questions about the island and the manifests and whatever.
• 1:22:49
SPEAKER_04: So I guess I kind of get that, but we move on to London, where Sun is.
• 1:22:54
SPEAKER_04: Sun approaches a restaurant in London while talking to her mother and Ji Yun Quan, now speaking, on the phone.
• 1:23:01
SPEAKER_04: Charles Whidmore emerges from a restaurant.
• 1:23:04
SPEAKER_04: Sun approaches him and presents herself as the daughter of Mr.
• 1:23:07
SPEAKER_04: Peck and the managing director of Peck Industries.
• 1:23:10
SPEAKER_04: Whidmore recognizes the name and inquires about her father.
• 1:23:14
SPEAKER_04: Sun confronts Whidmore with the knowledge that he is aware of her true identity, adding that Whidmore knows that the Oceanic Six have been lying about their experiences.
• 1:23:25
SPEAKER_04: She then suggests that she and Whidmore have common interests.
• 1:23:29
SPEAKER_04: She gives him her pick business card, suggest suggesting he call her when ready to talk.
• 1:23:36
SPEAKER_04: Finally, she reminds Whidmore that the Oceanic Six are not the only ones who left the island.
• 1:23:43
SPEAKER_01: And this is what I said it wasn't Jack in my head.
• 1:23:48
SPEAKER_01: Because obviously, yeah, I'm like, so she had her other person that she blames is not a six.
• 1:23:56
SPEAKER_04: Woodmore, who is surprised, asks why she would want to cooperate with him.
• 1:24:01
  SPEAKER_04: Without answering, she leaves.
• 1:24:04
  SPEAKER_04: At Kate's house.
• 1:24:05
SPEAKER_04: Kate wakes in her home to the sound of footsteps but sees no one.
• 1:24:10
SPEAKER_04: The phone then the phone rings, and a male voice speaking in reverse says, The island needs you.
• 1:24:15
SPEAKER_04: You have to go back before it's too late.
• 1:24:17
SPEAKER_04: She hears footsteps again and retrieves a gun from her closet.
• 1:24:21
SPEAKER_04: Checking on Aaron, she confronts the intruder bent over his bed, only to find that it's Claire who's holding Aaron's hand.
• 1:24:28
SPEAKER_04: She warns Kate not to bring him back to the island.
• 1:24:31
SPEAKER_01: That's the nice word saying it because she's like, Don't you fucking dare bring his ass back here?
• 1:24:37
SPEAKER_01: She gives that impression like I will haunt you to the end of time.
• 1:24:41
SPEAKER_04: Suddenly Kate wakes, realizing that it was a dream, and she quickly checks on Aaron.
• 1:24:46
SPEAKER_04: There's no intruder and no sign of Claire.
• 1:24:49
SPEAKER_04: She then looks at Aaron and says, I'm sorry.
• 1:24:52
SPEAKER_04: Next we moved on to the Hoff's drawler funeral parlor.
• 1:24:56
SPEAKER_04: And um this is Jack's story.
• 1:24:59
SPEAKER_04: Jack, still apparently drunk and high, drives to the funeral parlor after hours.
• 1:25:04
SPEAKER_04: He breaks in and approaches the casket, noticing that no one has yet signed the release form for Bentham's body.
• 1:25:11
SPEAKER_04: Ben suddenly enters the room, and Jack says that Bentham had told him Ben was off the island.
• 1:25:17
SPEAKER_04: Jack and Kate haven't spoken to Bentham about a month prior.
• 1:25:21
SPEAKER_04: Bentham had said that after Jack left the island, some very bad things happened and it was Jack's fault for leaving.
• 1:25:29
SPEAKER_04: Bentham added that Jack had to come back, and Ben replied that he has heard about Jack riding passenger planes hoping they'll crash.
• 1:25:37
SPEAKER_04: Ben describes this as very dark.
• 1:25:40
SPEAKER_04: When Ben tells you that something is very dark, you know it's fucked.
• 1:25:44
SPEAKER_01: You know you you're fucked.
• 1:25:45
SPEAKER_01: He should be sitting right there next to Hurley.
• 1:25:49
SPEAKER_04: Ben tells Jack that he's there to let him know that the island won't let him come alone.
• 1:25:54
SPEAKER_04: All of you have to go back.
• 1:25:56
SPEAKER_04: Jack says he doesn't know where Said is, Hurley is mentally unwell, son blames Jack for Jim's death, and Kate won't even talk to him anymore.
• 1:26:04
SPEAKER_04: Ben said that this is the only way.
• 1:26:06
SPEAKER_04: All of them have to do it together, and that Ben has a few ideas about how it could be done.
• 1:26:12
SPEAKER_04: And he's willing to help.
• 1:26:14
SPEAKER_04: However, he specifies that all of them must return, including the deceased Bentham, who then is revealed to be John Locke.
• 1:26:22
  SPEAKER_04: And that's the end.
• 1:26:23
SPEAKER_04: That's the end of the episode, that's the end of the season.
• 1:26:26
SPEAKER_04: How did you feel when it panned over?
• 1:26:30
SPEAKER_01: Honestly, looking back when I first saw it, like 24 hours ago, um I thought I'd be more, I'd have something more like, what the fuck?
• 1:26:40
SPEAKER_01: But I'm I'm numb to shock with at this point.
• 1:26:44
SPEAKER_01: And like I said earlier into this six hour recording, no, it's just was there any point where you where you where you figured it out that he was in there?
• 1:26:57
SPEAKER_04: Or no, did you have any guesses who was no?
• 1:27:00
  SPEAKER_01: I just I I no, I didn't.
• 1:27:02
SPEAKER_01: Um, but I don't know why I'm like, bring Brenton back.
• 1:27:05
  SPEAKER_01: What the fuck?
• 1:27:07
SPEAKER_01: Because I feel like luckily that's where they panned in.
• 1:27:09
SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh okay.
• 1:27:11
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 1:27:11
SPEAKER_04: Because I feel like once they started talking about how you have to come back and everything happened and it was Jack's fault, I felt like you might start picking up on it, knowing how they're how Locke was all about, and especially I feel like especially in the in the finale episodes, it's always this Jack Locke headbutt, you know.
• 1:27:35
SPEAKER_01: I stopped watching it this season because I've actually enjoyed the show this season.
• 1:27:40
SPEAKER_01: I think I stopped watching it with the intent of recording, if that makes sense.
• 1:27:50
SPEAKER_01: Like asking questions, looking for things.
• 1:27:52
SPEAKER_01: I'm actually wanting to enjoy it now.
• 1:27:55
SPEAKER_01: Um then lost has actually made me even more jaded if I if that was impossible.
• 1:28:02
SPEAKER_01: I don't have any more TV emotions left in me.
• 1:28:06
SPEAKER_01: And I think honestly, I then also watching it for the most part straight through.
• 1:28:13
SPEAKER_01: I'm not surprised by things anymore.
• 1:28:15
SPEAKER_01: And then, yeah, I was a little, I said earlier, I was like, I'm not even upset that he's dead because in lost fashion, he was still would be a regular.
• 1:28:24
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 1:28:25
SPEAKER_01: My head, and this is the scene where I was a hundred percent sure that the other person's son blames is Ben.
• 1:28:35
SPEAKER_01: Okay, because they've already made it clear that Ben has been back, not Ben.
• 1:28:40
SPEAKER_01: Loc has been back and spoken to people, right?
• 1:28:44
SPEAKER_01: Of course, they called him Jeremy.
• 1:28:46
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they called so I'm like, okay, because I'm like, well, why would she be mad at Ben?
• 1:28:50
  SPEAKER_01: How would she know?
• 1:28:51
  SPEAKER_01: How would she know?
• 1:28:53
SPEAKER_01: Obviously, she so only person there was Locke.
• 1:28:56
SPEAKER_01: So the opportunity for her to know is there, if that's the case, that solved that problem.
• 1:29:03
SPEAKER_01: Like, how would she know?
• 1:29:04
SPEAKER_01: Well, obviously, Locke told her.
• 1:29:07
SPEAKER_01: Um, and then this, and then the scene with Senor Ridmore.
• 1:29:14
SPEAKER_01: Like, if the other person that was pissing her off was Jack, she wouldn't reference someone other than the six.
• 1:29:23
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 1:29:24
SPEAKER_01: So that's why I think the other person she blames, rightfully so, is Benjamin.
• 1:29:32
SPEAKER_01: And she's like, we have similar interests.
• 1:29:34
  unknown: Yeah.
• 1:29:34
SPEAKER_01: We already know Whitmill wants his ass.
• 1:29:37
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:29:38
SPEAKER_04: So they had they had actually filmed two fake endings.
• 1:29:43
SPEAKER_04: Everything else was the same.
• 1:29:46
SPEAKER_04: And in one of the endings, it was revealed to be Sawyer in the coffin.
• 1:29:52
SPEAKER_04: And in the other one, it was Desmond.
• 1:29:55
  SPEAKER_01: So no one knew.
• 1:29:57
SPEAKER_04: So I yeah, I guess it was just fake out so that nothing nothing could nothing could leak.
• 1:30:03
SPEAKER_04: And if it did, it you know.
• 1:30:05
SPEAKER_01: But it is it's cool though, because even the cats didn't know.
• 1:30:08
SPEAKER_01: Like, I think that's kind of cool when the cats don't know.
• 1:30:11
SPEAKER_04: Alright, so let's do some trivia and all that other stuff.
• 1:30:17
SPEAKER_01: And can you please tell me why I smack myself?
• 1:30:19
  SPEAKER_04: No.
• 1:30:20
  SPEAKER_01: Fuck you.
• 1:30:22
SPEAKER_04: Membata, the name of the ocean, the name of the island Oceana claimed the six lived on, is Indonesian for doubt or uncertainty.
• 1:30:35
SPEAKER_04: A Geronimo Jackson record jacket can be seen near the DJ at Hurley's party.
• 1:30:41
SPEAKER_04: I just find it funny how that that group just keeps kind of coming into play.
• 1:30:48
SPEAKER_04: This is the first episode to have Aaron appear without his mother.
• 1:30:53
SPEAKER_01: But is it because she was there?
• 1:30:58
SPEAKER_04: No, she wasn't not in this episode.
• 1:31:00
SPEAKER_04: She was in Cabin Fever.
• 1:31:02
SPEAKER_01: Oh, because but the way that yeah, it was a different episode.
• 1:31:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:31:07
SPEAKER_04: Veronica Hamill reprises her role as Margot Shepherd from White Rabbit after a 75-episode absence.
• 1:31:15
SPEAKER_04: This is the longest such gap for any actor, and the longest gap for a character until somebody else comes back sometime in the future, but I'm not gonna tell you who or when.
• 1:31:27
SPEAKER_01: So was someone who dies come back?
• 1:31:29
  SPEAKER_01: Is what you're saying?
• 1:31:31
SPEAKER_04: Well, remember that because of the use of like flashbacks and stuff, right?
• 1:31:37
SPEAKER_01: But someone who died gets popped pops back up again.
• 1:31:45
  SPEAKER_01: Why can't I remember her name?
• 1:31:47
SPEAKER_01: I remember the brother's name, the stepbrother's name, Boone.
• 1:31:51
SPEAKER_01: I was thinking about Boone and Shannon.
• 1:31:55
  SPEAKER_01: Shannon.
• 1:31:55
SPEAKER_01: I don't know why they popped in my head.
• 1:31:56
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I wonder what they're doing now besides being dead.
• 1:31:59
SPEAKER_01: Like, I wonder if they're gonna come back.
• 1:32:01
SPEAKER_01: You know that okay, so okay, okay.
• 1:32:07
SPEAKER_01: Someone's gonna come back dead.
• 1:32:09
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so oh, the typhoon theory.
• 1:32:12
SPEAKER_01: Because you had said earlier that, oh, it's lucky there was a typhoon, they can use that.
• 1:32:17
SPEAKER_01: But my thought was, well, you know, obviously Penny's not a dummy.
• 1:32:24
SPEAKER_01: And was the situation like, hey, this is where we're at, and this is what we need to do.
• 1:32:28
SPEAKER_01: I am typhoon or no typhoon, I think something would have it would have been explained.
• 1:32:34
SPEAKER_01: They would have came up with something.
• 1:32:36
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's true.
• 1:32:37
SPEAKER_01: Because Penny is yeah, yeah, I think something would have came up.
• 1:32:42
SPEAKER_01: So Widmore is still in this picture, he's still a character, he's still a presence.
• 1:32:50
  SPEAKER_01: So that means so.
• 1:32:55
SPEAKER_01: I think the fact that Penny was with Penny at one point was well looking for Desmond, and they were, you know.
• 1:33:02
SPEAKER_01: I think Charlie comes back.
• 1:33:04
SPEAKER_01: I think Charlie pops up again.
• 1:33:06
  SPEAKER_04: Okay.
• 1:33:07
SPEAKER_01: Because the whole like he was somehow connected, like it wasn't Penny's boat, and I think that might that scene in some way, some form might pop up again.
• 1:33:18
SPEAKER_04: So Jack finally finds out that he has a half-sister, and a nephew, and a nephew, slash stepsonish.
• 1:33:27
  SPEAKER_01: I'm so sorry.
• 1:33:34
SPEAKER_04: Four palm trees, eight helium balloons by the pool, 15 presents on the Lanai table, 16 party hats worn by background individuals, and 23 and 42 were the numbers on the jersey worn by the two boys crossing over the pool right after the DJ was shown.
• 1:33:55
SPEAKER_04: I mean we're not really reading all the instances of where like the numbers are, but I thought that that was cute.
• 1:34:00
SPEAKER_01: That they it was cute, but like no one is ever gonna like the anyone watching it at the time was like, yeah, let me count up random balloons in the scene.
• 1:34:07
SPEAKER_04: There were people who did that.
• 1:34:09
SPEAKER_04: There were people who did that, I'm sure.
• 1:34:14
  unknown: Woohoo!
• 1:34:14
SPEAKER_04: Okay, so let's talk about the helicopter.
• 1:34:18
SPEAKER_02: Yes, let's talk about it.
• 1:34:20
SPEAKER_04: Remember how I told you that the the call letters on the helicopter, and then we talked about all the meanings of like innate fortune.
• 1:34:30
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, what it always reminded me of, yeah.
• 1:34:32
SPEAKER_04: Okay, so let's dissect that here, right?
• 1:34:36
  SPEAKER_04: Helicopter, fortune, right?
• 1:34:38
SPEAKER_04: Because this is she's got a drink.
• 1:34:40
SPEAKER_04: This is gonna get them off the island, right?
• 1:34:42
SPEAKER_04: This is rescue, except that we we went over the fact that it can mean many different things, and not all of them were good, and so it took them to the freighter, which exploded, the island disappeared.
• 1:35:03
SPEAKER_04: Um as far as people we knew, Jin and Michael were both in the explosion on the freighter.
• 1:35:10
  SPEAKER_00: Boom.
• 1:35:11
  SPEAKER_04: Boom.
• 1:35:13
SPEAKER_04: And so ultimately it did lead them to rescue because it got them at least to a to a life raft into Penny's bolt.
• 1:35:24
SPEAKER_01: Right, but at what cost?
• 1:35:25
SPEAKER_01: A Pyrenic, what was it?
• 1:35:26
SPEAKER_01: I'm not I don't know I'm not pronouncing it correctly, a pirate um victory, not pyronic, it's la piranha.
• 1:35:34
  SPEAKER_04: Anyway, I don't know.
• 1:35:35
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I like you do know it's like the pretty much it's like you can't win for losing.
• 1:35:42
SPEAKER_01: Like you won, but you lost like all your men.
• 1:35:45
SPEAKER_01: But it was that it was a war of the ancient Greek war.
• 1:35:50
SPEAKER_01: I think it was like during the whole Helena Troy time, you know.
• 1:35:53
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's during that time, I think.
• 1:35:55
SPEAKER_01: And the general won, but he lost all his men.
• 1:36:00
SPEAKER_01: So that is why it's called Piranic Piranic, oh something victory.
• 1:36:08
  SPEAKER_04: Forget it.
• 1:36:09
SPEAKER_01: No, it's not pissing me off.
• 1:36:10
SPEAKER_01: People listening to me and cursing.
• 1:36:12
SPEAKER_01: Now they're listening to this episode and they're cursing me out, like it's so-and-so, you dumb bitch.
• 1:36:18
SPEAKER_01: Because I do that too on the podcast.
• 1:36:21
SPEAKER_04: If you know what she's talking about, feel free to write us with the subject line of it's so-and-so, you dumb bitch.
• 1:36:27
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, Pyrrhic.
• 1:36:29
SPEAKER_01: What is that movie from the 80s about the teacher working in the bad school?
• 1:36:34
SPEAKER_01: Was it was it Lean on Me?
• 1:36:35
  SPEAKER_01: Lean on Me.
• 1:36:36
SPEAKER_01: That's when I first heard of a Pyrrhic mystery.
• 1:36:43
SPEAKER_04: All right, we're gonna We gotta move on.
• 1:36:48
SPEAKER_01: Do we do we really?
• 1:36:49
SPEAKER_04: I mean all right, let's let's do some cultural references.
• 1:36:54
SPEAKER_04: So there's the obvious Wizard of Oz reference, right?
• 1:37:01
SPEAKER_04: The name of the title is There's No Place Like Home.
• 1:37:03
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, well yeah.
• 1:37:05
SPEAKER_04: Which is what she says, but that takes her back home.
• 1:37:09
SPEAKER_04: Jeremy Bentham was an he was an English philosopher.
• 1:37:15
SPEAKER_04: Uh he was born February 15th, 1948, and died June 6th, 1832.
• 1:37:25
SPEAKER_04: Damn, he lived a long time.
• 1:37:28
SPEAKER_04: He was best known for his advocacy of you uh utilitarianism.
• 1:37:35
SPEAKER_04: Bentham's positions I bet I know what his position positions included.
• 1:37:42
SPEAKER_04: He lived a long life, he got into a lot of positions.
• 1:37:44
SPEAKER_04: Um they included arguments in favor of individual and economic freedom, the separation of church and state, freedom of expression, equal rights for women, the end of slavery, the abolition of physical punishment, including that of children, the right to divorce, free trade, usury, and the decriminalization of homosexuality.
• 1:38:12
  SPEAKER_04: In 1785, I know, right?
• 1:38:15
SPEAKER_01: Back then, that's we can't get that shit done.
• 1:38:18
SPEAKER_01: We can't like it's a fight now, so amazing.
• 1:38:22
SPEAKER_04: In 1785, he designed the Penopticon, a type of prison which allows an observer to observe all prisoners without the prisoners being able to tell whether they are being watched.
• 1:38:34
SPEAKER_04: After his death, Bentham's body was preserved and stored in a wooden cabinet.
• 1:38:41
SPEAKER_04: This preserved body called the auto icon has been on display at University College in London since 1850, and every 50 years is brought to the college council meeting where Bentham is listed as present but not voting.
• 1:38:58
SPEAKER_04: So I guess you can say that this is kind of it kind of aligns with Locke's character.
• 1:39:06
SPEAKER_04: Locke is a very open-minded character to some things, but I don't know.
• 1:39:13
  SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
• 1:39:13
SPEAKER_04: Like after hearing who Jeremy Bentham was, why do you think that they chose to use that as the alias?
• 1:39:23
SPEAKER_01: Uh maybe because it's similar to Locke's character.
• 1:39:26
SPEAKER_01: You mean like the the characters use that or the writers?
• 1:39:33
SPEAKER_04: Well, the fact, I mean, you know, nothing is is a coincidence, right?
• 1:39:37
SPEAKER_04: So like they use the names John Locke and you know, like on purpose.
• 1:39:42
SPEAKER_04: So then to now use the name Jeremy Bentham.
• 1:39:47
SPEAKER_04: I just was asking if like after I read the description, if if it was like I don't know, fitting or wasn't Locke wasn't the name Locke a real person?
• 1:39:59
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, John Locke.
• 1:40:01
  SPEAKER_01: Who is he?
• 1:40:02
SPEAKER_01: Hold on, I have my phone.
• 1:40:04
SPEAKER_04: Just read the description so that if anybody else forgot, you know.
• 1:40:09
  SPEAKER_01: Oh well, well damn.
• 1:40:12
SPEAKER_01: What okay, funny in real life, the real John Locke, his mother's name was Agnes.
• 1:40:24
SPEAKER_01: I think that's funny, but no, who he was, I didn't know he was a he look he was actually another version of Jeremy Bentham.
• 1:40:34
SPEAKER_04: Oh he was a philosopher.
• 1:40:35
SPEAKER_04: I know he was a philosopher, but I don't really remember much else about him.
• 1:40:40
SPEAKER_01: Well, I had to I just haven't had my phone.
• 1:40:42
SPEAKER_01: Leno Mean is not the movie I'm thinking of, so I'm trying to Google St Standby Me?
• 1:40:47
  SPEAKER_04: No.
• 1:40:47
  SPEAKER_01: Not Stand By Me.
• 1:40:48
SPEAKER_01: And it's one of those like 80s, 90s rough school, and the teacher was trying.
• 1:40:53
SPEAKER_01: I remember the he was like, yeah.
• 1:40:55
  SPEAKER_01: I remember the scene.
• 1:40:59
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:41:00
  SPEAKER_01: With the kids.
• 1:41:01
SPEAKER_04: Is it the is it the one with Michelle Pfeiffer?
• 1:41:03
  SPEAKER_01: That's Dangerous Minds.
• 1:41:05
SPEAKER_04: But that's not the one you're thinking of?
• 1:41:07
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 1:41:09
  SPEAKER_04: Alright.
• 1:41:10
  SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
• 1:41:12
  SPEAKER_04: Gouge away.
• 1:41:13
SPEAKER_04: This is the song that Jack is listening to on his way to the funeral home.
• 1:41:18
SPEAKER_04: It's by the Pixies, and the song tells the biblical story of Samson and Delilah.
• 1:41:24
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, Alice's what?
• 1:41:26
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay, I'm trying to like alright.
• 1:41:30
  SPEAKER_04: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
• 1:41:32
SPEAKER_04: I mean, we know that this is a recurring theme, also, but Is it really?
• 1:41:37
SPEAKER_04: The famous picture of the white rabbit is seen on Aaron's bedroom door, and also the path that leads to the frozen wheel from the orchid's vault, where time traveling experiments on rabbits were conducted, alludes to the beginning of Alice's adventure, where she follows a white rabbit, who is obsessed with time, down through its hole.
• 1:41:57
SPEAKER_04: Ben quite literally follows the path of the white rabbit seen in the orchid orientation video, only to go down into a mysterious hole with strange qualities.
• 1:42:07
SPEAKER_04: This is a rare case in which the writers have very literally integrated a referential literary passage into the plot as opposed to merely alluding to it.
• 1:42:18
SPEAKER_04: Okay, so each each year the producers have a special name for a secret scene in that year's finale.
• 1:42:26
SPEAKER_04: This year's special name was Frozen Donkey Wheel.
• 1:42:31
SPEAKER_04: This year's special name, Frozen Donkey Wheel, refers to the unveiling of who lies within the coffin in the final scene and not the actual ice-covered wheel Ben had to turn to activate the teleportation of the island.
• 1:42:46
SPEAKER_04: And then this is where they talk about in order to maintain the secrecy that the two fake endings were shot.
• 1:42:52
SPEAKER_01: I I put this, I text this to you, so I'm not like just in case that I was proved wrong or right.
• 1:43:01
  SPEAKER_01: Random thought.
• 1:43:02
SPEAKER_01: Now, when they say move the island, we're gonna move the island, I don't have to bring moved, and initially you're thinking, oh, they're gonna move like as far as location.
• 1:43:10
SPEAKER_01: What if they moved it as it's not a post, it's not a question of where?
• 1:43:14
  SPEAKER_01: It's a question of when.
• 1:43:16
SPEAKER_04: What like the island went to like 1975?
• 1:43:19
  SPEAKER_01: Some shit like that.
• 1:43:20
SPEAKER_04: Like, I mean, but then but then why can't they see it?
• 1:43:25
  SPEAKER_01: Shut up.
• 1:43:29
SPEAKER_01: Or maybe they moved it to the future.
• 1:43:30
  SPEAKER_01: I don't fucking know.
• 1:43:32
SPEAKER_04: But why can't they see it?
• 1:43:33
SPEAKER_01: Because it doesn't exist, like they moved, like it doesn't exist anymore there.
• 1:43:37
SPEAKER_01: They moved it to the future.
• 1:43:38
SPEAKER_01: So if they weren't flying over it, let's say 10 years in the future, maybe that I don't fucking know.
• 1:43:43
SPEAKER_01: Or maybe it's a dinner fit universal plane.
• 1:43:45
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 1:43:46
SPEAKER_01: It goes back to the whole take the earth, change the axis, the rotation happened.
• 1:43:52
SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'm just saying, like hello, polar bears and the Middle Eastern Desert.
• 1:44:00
SPEAKER_04: I think uh no, go ahead.
• 1:44:03
  SPEAKER_01: This episode.
• 1:44:04
SPEAKER_04: This episode features Malcolm David Kelly's first speaking role since Through the Looking Glass part one.
• 1:44:10
SPEAKER_04: Um, the actor who plays Walt.
• 1:44:12
SPEAKER_01: I think it's so I think it's kind of cool that now that's in the future, show-wise, as they can actually use him again.
• 1:44:19
  SPEAKER_04: I know.
• 1:44:20
SPEAKER_01: I think that's amazing because it's like what three years later, or X-Moy years later, like even though like it's what two years?
• 1:44:27
SPEAKER_04: Like I think think it's really show, it's no a few months.
• 1:44:31
SPEAKER_01: Well, the flash forwards is a few years.
• 1:44:35
  SPEAKER_04: Um all of them.
• 1:44:36
SPEAKER_01: No, but with the one that he's in.
• 1:44:38
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
• 1:44:39
SPEAKER_01: The one that he's in is like more like a year later.
• 1:44:43
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I just think it's cool that they could finally use him because he grew up so much over the summer, he couldn't use him again, and I think it's great that they could.
• 1:44:52
SPEAKER_01: I think the move I'm talking about is 187.
• 1:44:56
SPEAKER_04: Oh, I have no idea what that is, but okay.
• 1:44:58
  SPEAKER_01: Samuel L.
• 1:44:59
SPEAKER_01: Jackson was stabbed multiple times by a student as he was a high school teacher, so he comes back as a substitute teacher, he's with the shits.
• 1:45:10
SPEAKER_01: Not a single fucks given.
• 1:45:13
SPEAKER_04: So, in in the episode, when Walt is visiting Hurley, Hurley lies about Michael's death.
• 1:45:22
SPEAKER_04: Well, she which would Michael should have done before he told him about Libby and like killing people, yeah.
• 1:45:30
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and there's there's kind lies.
• 1:45:33
SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Hugo, for having more common sense of the man's like, I don't care if you don't know how to be a father, but being a grown-up with dealing with children, kind of like you know, yeah, on some level, it's common sense.
• 1:45:46
SPEAKER_02: You don't use him as your therapist, it's rule number fucking one.
• 1:45:50
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and I mean, and speaking of Michael, he hears the whispers and and he sees Christian Shepherd.
• 1:45:59
SPEAKER_04: I don't understand that, right, before the um explosion, and Christian tells him you can go now.
• 1:46:07
SPEAKER_01: I don't understand why they keep using Christian Slater.
• 1:46:10
  SPEAKER_01: Christian Slater, sorry.
• 1:46:12
  SPEAKER_01: Christian Shepherd.
• 1:46:15
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 1:46:16
  SPEAKER_01: Like, is he Jacob?
• 1:46:18
  SPEAKER_01: Who is Jacob?
• 1:46:19
SPEAKER_01: Why is there a Jacob?
• 1:46:22
SPEAKER_04: In last year's season finale, it was Jack who said we have to go back.
• 1:46:26
SPEAKER_04: And then this time it was Sun, except I mean, obviously she wasn't talking about going back to the island, but we have to go back.
• 1:46:34
SPEAKER_01: Everyone has to go back.
• 1:46:37
SPEAKER_04: The scene where Locke meets the others as his people is filmed from downside up.
• 1:46:43
SPEAKER_04: Locke is seen at the top of the cliff, looking down as a mythical figure by people who are sitting, kneeling, or or just getting up slowly.
• 1:46:53
SPEAKER_04: This is intended to picture Locke as a savior, the chosen one, a divine entity that deserves to be adored by those people.
• 1:47:02
SPEAKER_04: So this little note that Lost Pedia has is interesting, okay?
• 1:47:07
SPEAKER_04: We are led to believe from the flash forwards that the oceanic six left the people on the island, while in fact the island had them.
• 1:47:20
SPEAKER_04: So, like just a spin that I didn't really ever think about.
• 1:47:24
SPEAKER_04: I was like, peace live by Desmond and Penny are reunited, but Sun and Jin are separated.
• 1:47:33
SPEAKER_04: Every season finale, they get separated.
• 1:47:36
SPEAKER_01: I just hope Desmond and Penny are able to live happily ever after.
• 1:47:41
SPEAKER_01: And because Desmond wasn't original oceanic, maybe he'll be able to stay with Penny.
• 1:47:48
SPEAKER_01: But probably not because you know her father's still her father.
• 1:47:53
SPEAKER_04: In contrast to the first finale, the survivors on the raft again spot a rescue boat and they're pleased to see it turn around, but this time to Frank's disappointment, they don't start jumping around and hugging.
• 1:48:09
SPEAKER_04: Remember in the in the first season, they saw the raft and they they thought that they were gonna get rescued.
• 1:48:15
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, right.
• 1:48:16
SPEAKER_04: It was uh Tom friendly.
• 1:48:18
SPEAKER_04: He's like, We're gonna take the boy.
• 1:48:21
  SPEAKER_00: Give me the boy.
• 1:48:23
SPEAKER_00: We want what is saying, give me the boy, or we want the boy, or we're we're here for the boy, something like that.
• 1:48:28
  SPEAKER_04: Something like that.
• 1:48:30
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:48:31
SPEAKER_01: They I think at this point they were just like, What the fuck ever at this point?
• 1:48:36
SPEAKER_01: Like the freighter blew up, her son's husband died, Jin was killed, Micah was killed, people they knew were killed, the island fucking disappeared, the helicopter crashed, they're like what else?
• 1:48:52
SPEAKER_01: Like, this bullsnight here to save us.
• 1:48:54
SPEAKER_01: Like, it's gonna like and I'll think you're like, yeah, I told them like what's next.
• 1:49:01
SPEAKER_01: I would not at that point think someone's gonna actually come save us at all if I was them either.
• 1:49:06
  SPEAKER_01: I'm like, no.
• 1:49:08
SPEAKER_04: The beginning of the episode, right?
• 1:49:11
SPEAKER_04: Part one is structured so it begins with the result.
• 1:49:15
SPEAKER_04: The oceanic six are all together on the plane, going back to you know, civilization.
• 1:49:22
SPEAKER_04: But then the remainder of the episodes are are like how it came together, right?
• 1:49:30
SPEAKER_04: And so you see all the all the people, they're all in various configurations all over the island.
• 1:49:34
SPEAKER_04: So it was like so and so and so-and-so, and so-and-so, and so-and-so.
• 1:49:38
SPEAKER_01: And you're like, how do they even end up in the same place?
• 1:49:40
SPEAKER_01: Everyone's all over the place, but it's it comes together just enough to leave you with more questions, but like it was still satisfying, right?
• 1:49:50
SPEAKER_04: And then when it ends, Locke is still on the island, but he's also dead in a coffin, x amount of years later.
• 1:49:59
SPEAKER_01: But I yeah, I don't mind the cliffhangers, I don't mind like the more questions as long as they answer some questions, and this year they did.
• 1:50:07
SPEAKER_01: I feel like the other gears, you're like, you did nothing.
• 1:50:10
SPEAKER_04: I agree, I agree with my head.
• 1:50:12
SPEAKER_04: I think that that's also what makes this good is because it's it's finally starting to give you a little bit of resolution.
• 1:50:18
SPEAKER_01: I mean, of course, it's gonna give you more questions because you they still have two seasons to go through, but yeah.
• 1:50:25
SPEAKER_04: Were there any other questions that kind of came up for you or that you want to be answered or that you're left wondering?
• 1:50:31
  SPEAKER_04: Anything specific?
• 1:50:33
SPEAKER_01: I still want to know who are they trying to like who's after them?
• 1:50:37
  SPEAKER_04: Who's after who?
• 1:50:38
  SPEAKER_01: The oceanic sick.
• 1:50:39
SPEAKER_01: Remember, like the beginning of the season and Ben.
• 1:50:44
SPEAKER_01: Um why can I think of words today?
• 1:50:48
SPEAKER_01: Um, maybe because I have holes in my brain.
• 1:50:50
SPEAKER_01: Um recruited Zae to, you know.
• 1:50:54
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:50:55
SPEAKER_01: And obviously they're still like there's still no mission.
• 1:50:58
SPEAKER_01: And I wouldn't know who's at who like who is it?
• 1:51:03
SPEAKER_01: Is it the Dharma initiative?
• 1:51:05
  SPEAKER_01: Is it Whitmore?
• 1:51:07
  SPEAKER_01: Is it I don't know.
• 1:51:10
  SPEAKER_01: Maybe Echo would know.
• 1:51:12
  SPEAKER_01: Mr.
• 1:51:12
  SPEAKER_01: Echo.
• 1:51:13
  SPEAKER_01: I missed him.
• 1:51:13
SPEAKER_01: He was a good project there.
• 1:51:15
  SPEAKER_04: He was.
• 1:51:16
SPEAKER_01: They should bring him back.
• 1:51:18
SPEAKER_01: Um, oh, maybe they're gonna bring Echo back.
• 1:51:20
SPEAKER_01: Only because, like, what's the point of Hugo's of him playing chess with him?
• 1:51:27
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like of all the people, like he's already seen Charlie.
• 1:51:32
SPEAKER_01: So I kind of expected him to say, you know, your turn or check my Charlie boy, whatever.
• 1:51:35
  SPEAKER_01: He's like, Mr.
• 1:51:36
  SPEAKER_01: Echo.

• 1:51:40
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's that.
• 1:51:41
SPEAKER_01: Um, no, I think my only question is who's after them and why?
• 1:51:45
SPEAKER_01: And I are they after them because they want them back on the island?
• 1:51:49
SPEAKER_01: Are they after them because they escaped the island?
• 1:51:54
SPEAKER_04: So, what do you think happens to the people who were left on the island?
• 1:51:57
SPEAKER_01: I wonder what bad thing happens to them.
• 1:52:00
SPEAKER_01: Like, why is it that them leaving caused all hell to break loose on the island?
• 1:52:05
SPEAKER_01: Like, how is the two connected?
• 1:52:09
  SPEAKER_04: That's a good question.
• 1:52:10
SPEAKER_01: I really think the people just kept on people and they survived.
• 1:52:13
SPEAKER_01: They people like I mean, I think they obviously I don't even know.
• 1:52:20
SPEAKER_01: Unless it's a change in climate, they may not even know that the island has moved or disappeared.
• 1:52:28
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, what's that?
• 1:52:31
  SPEAKER_04: Okay, we'll be done.
