- 2:18Speaker 1: Thank yous, gotta take away hone girl. Come on, you
- 2:23Speaker 1: got anything for that book? Let me pull it out
- 2:26Speaker 1: of you.
- 2:26Speaker 2: The only thing that was like juicy in this episode
- 2:32Speaker 2: I knew it about Mary, Yes, like just every time
- 2:35Speaker 2: the camera flashed to her, and she's all looking sad
- 2:38Speaker 2: and weird and distant, hiding her phone, hiding her phone,
- 2:42Speaker 2: checking it the second she gets a notification, even while
- 2:46Speaker 2: she's on camera, like that was it. That was the
- 2:49Speaker 2: only thing that was good.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Everything else is mine. I was also noticing, my takeaway,
- 2:54Speaker 1: I was noticing Leon and the tension that is clearly
- 2:59Speaker 1: present between Leon and Mary, because remember Leon at this
- 3:04Speaker 1: time is clowin Mary and understands what Mary is doing,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and I think Leon is actually warning Mary like, Mom,
- 3:13Speaker 1: this is a bad idea. What are you doing. Mary
- 3:15Speaker 1: doesn't listen to Leon, and obviously she ends up getting
- 3:19Speaker 1: into trouble. Speaking of Leon's side bar, Yeah, have you
- 3:23Speaker 1: seen the two, I think two little instagram reels that
- 3:28Speaker 1: they did. The first one was a reel in which
- 3:32Speaker 1: Leon said something like, it's time for me to tell
- 3:34Speaker 1: my story. Yeah, you know, there's a lot that's happened
- 3:38Speaker 1: to me. It's my story and I'm going to tell it.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And of course everybody was like, oh my god, please,
- 3:45Speaker 1: we have been waiting for anybody to come out and
- 3:48Speaker 1: tell us the truth. And then within a week there's
- 3:52Speaker 1: another Instagram reel of Leon saying something like not a celebrity.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Don't just come up to me and say hi, thanks.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I was like, Jesus, Leon, you just can't help yourself.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I saw that one, and then I saw like an
- 4:08Speaker 2: article I think that they were featured in where they
- 4:11Speaker 2: said something like, you know, everybody who's pressing me to
- 4:15Speaker 2: release more tea is just like too pushy and it's
- 4:17Speaker 2: so inconsiderate. And I'm like, okay, but then don't make
- 4:20Speaker 2: them real spill some tea that.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You're going to spill some tea. And also in the
- 4:26Speaker 1: comment sections, which are really popping off, especially in the
- 4:30Speaker 1: comment section of Reality t Squad, Oh because she posted
- 4:35Speaker 1: about this and she's not happy with Leon. But somebody
- 4:39Speaker 1: is saying in these comment sections that Leon is the
- 4:42Speaker 1: founder of their own fan club. What do you mean
- 4:46Speaker 1: Leon started a fan club for themselves? Shut up? And
- 4:51Speaker 1: I think I think that Leon's actually charging for the
- 4:55Speaker 1: flu I think so, so that's this is just like
- 4:59Speaker 1: shadow chatter that I'm seeing online. I have no idea
- 5:03Speaker 1: as to the veracity of these claims, but like, can
- 5:05Speaker 1: you imagine the audacity of a person who would make
- 5:09Speaker 1: these statements about themselves? Yeah, start their own fan club
- 5:14Speaker 1: and then be upset that people want to come up
- 5:17Speaker 1: and say, how.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Are you doing? Lee? My god, I saw you on TV.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I love you so much. That is how Dario cringe.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Do not say hi to me?
- 5:26Speaker 2: I was laughing at the Reddit comments underneath that post
- 5:28Speaker 2: of Leon saying like, don't talk to me if I'm
- 5:30Speaker 2: in public, like I'm just the person. And somebody somebody
- 5:34Speaker 2: commented and was like, I've seen Leon in public multiple
- 5:37Speaker 2: times and I never thought to say because I never
- 5:41Speaker 2: want to say hi to this person, because I wouldn't
- 5:43Speaker 2: want to neither.
- 5:44Speaker 1: No, but in this season, season nine, and in subsequent
- 5:49Speaker 1: seasons and all the way through to twenty twenty six,
- 5:52Speaker 1: Leon is still a miserable, spoiled and tatold person. Totally,
- 5:59Speaker 1: nothing much as changed, No, not at all.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And then like when we get to the Catfish episodes
- 6:03Speaker 2: and stuff, Leon is so mad at Mary and is
- 6:07Speaker 2: such a bitch to her. I'm just like, okay, yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 2: all right, which I kind of love, yea.
- 6:11Speaker 1: But Leon was terrible for sure, Yeah, very very hateful.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Okay, So that was the sidebar. Did you guys see
- 6:18Speaker 1: or hear that? What are your thoughts? If you're on YouTube,
- 6:20Speaker 1: please drop into the comments and let us know how
- 6:23Speaker 1: you feel about that. But without further ado, let's get
- 6:26Speaker 1: into this week's recap of Sister Wives Season nine, Episode.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Nine, and Judge decides, My god, oh my god. The
- 6:39Speaker 2: whole episode is literally just Robin being like, I'm sovere
- 6:43Speaker 2: and Cody being like, I don't know what's gonna happen.
- 6:46Speaker 1: You never know because we're polygamists, and we are always
- 6:49Speaker 1: persecuted for being polygamists. And I don't know of any
- 6:53Speaker 1: judge they would ever value my family. My family. I'm
- 6:59Speaker 1: sick of it, and I'm.
- 7:00Speaker 2: So sick of that. I'm sick. So we start off
- 7:04Speaker 2: the episode with the family, the adults heading to the
- 7:08Speaker 2: lawyer's office because they're going to.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Discuss the lawyer.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Going to discuss the adoption and that, like we go
- 7:15Speaker 2: and see this lawyer multiple times to talk about it,
- 7:18Speaker 2: and it's just stupid, like little cybar conversations. There were
- 7:22Speaker 2: like some morsels. So in this first scene, they're talking
- 7:26Speaker 2: about how the adoption is going to be held in
- 7:28Speaker 2: the courtroom and the whole family can be there, and
- 7:31Speaker 2: you know, the judge might take Date in back into
- 7:34Speaker 2: his chambers to talk to him privately, So just be
- 7:37Speaker 2: aware of that because he's fifteen. Even though it literally
- 7:40Speaker 2: doesn't happen, it's not even an issue. And then we
- 7:44Speaker 2: hear from Mary talking to the camera about her conflicting
- 7:48Speaker 2: emotions that happened right after the legal divorce. She looks
- 7:52Speaker 2: very sad and weird and distant. She feels very disconnected
- 7:58Speaker 2: from not just Cody, but like the whole family. Like,
- 8:02Speaker 2: you know, you have that contrasted with Christine, who's like
- 8:06Speaker 2: oddly very emotional and very supportive. You have Janelle who's
- 8:11Speaker 2: also a little emotional and excited about this whole process,
- 8:15Speaker 2: and obviously Cody and Robin rr. But Mary, no, don't
- 8:18Speaker 2: give no fux.
- 8:19Speaker 1: She is already checked out.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yep.
- 8:21Speaker 1: You can already tell that she is rewriting the divorce
- 8:27Speaker 1: situation to give her some sort of ammunition to continue
- 8:32Speaker 1: the pursuit of her relationship with Sam. Like, yeah, when
- 8:35Speaker 1: she talks about her conflicted feelings about the divorce, like
- 8:40Speaker 1: you can really see to me, you can really see
- 8:42Speaker 1: on her face. Oh, you're already somewhere else, Honney, You're
- 8:45Speaker 1: already in your mind with another man.
- 8:48Speaker 2: And like, you know, I can understand that to an
- 8:51Speaker 2: extent because we know now that like after the legal divorce,
- 8:55Speaker 2: Cody essentially moved out and stopped talking to her.
- 8:58Speaker 1: And previous to the divorce, had promised her if she
- 9:02Speaker 1: did this, if she did the divorce, he was going
- 9:05Speaker 1: to spend more time with her, they were going to reconnect,
- 9:07Speaker 1: they were going to get their marriage back on track.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And then just ghosted her.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Ghoster, completely stopped touching her, stopped being affectionate, so like
- 9:16Speaker 2: Mary was totally abandoned. I don't necessarily condone cheating, obviously,
- 9:21Speaker 2: I don't condone an emotional affair when you're in a
- 9:25Speaker 2: marriage or whatever. But in this circumstance with Mary and Cody,
- 9:28Speaker 2: it's like, Okay, you can see why she ended up
- 9:32Speaker 2: that way and why she's kind of talking about her
- 9:35Speaker 2: conflicting emotions. I thought that this scene was really interesting
- 9:38Speaker 2: at the beginning because the lawyer is talking to all
- 9:41Speaker 2: of the adults, but mainly pointed at Cody and Mary
- 9:45Speaker 2: about divorce in general and how he sees so many
- 9:48Speaker 2: couples come into his office getting divorced and then they'll
- 9:51Speaker 2: come back a couple years later getting remarried because they
- 9:55Speaker 2: reconnected with each other, and the camera pans to Cody
- 9:58Speaker 2: and Mary and they're both just like not.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Interested, never gonna happen.
- 10:03Speaker 2: It's never gonna happen, and like, of course we're framing
- 10:07Speaker 2: this whole thing back then of like no, like we're
- 10:10Speaker 2: legally divorced, but we're still married, we still love each other,
- 10:13Speaker 2: but you know, they're essentially done with their marriage. Yes, entirely, Yes,
- 10:19Speaker 2: like it's just what it is. And then we shift
- 10:22Speaker 2: gears a little bit. We have Maddie announcing to the
- 10:26Speaker 2: parents that she's dating Caleb Brush Yes, and apparently she
- 10:30Speaker 2: started telling Janelle first, then she told Christine and Cody.
- 10:35Speaker 2: She specifically pointed out that she wanted to tell them
- 10:38Speaker 2: first before Mary and Robin because Christine has done so
- 10:42Speaker 2: much for her, and obviously Janelle is her mom, and
- 10:45Speaker 2: she wanted to give them this gift because they were
- 10:50Speaker 2: her parents.
- 10:51Speaker 1: They're actual parents. Fuck Mary and Robin right exactly.
- 10:55Speaker 2: But she tells them, and she's kind of cryptic at first,
- 10:59Speaker 2: like well you know, and they're like who, and she's like,
- 11:04Speaker 2: it's Caleb. And they're all super happy and supportive and excited.
- 11:07Speaker 2: And then Mary and Robin come by and they're also
- 11:10Speaker 2: happy and supportive and excited.
- 11:12Speaker 1: And Mattie does tell us that this romance with Caleb
- 11:16Speaker 1: started when Curtis Brown, Cody's brother passed. Yeah, Cody's brother,
- 11:25Speaker 1: Curtis was married to Caleb's sister, which is how the
- 11:28Speaker 1: families knew each other. The family, the Brown family loves Caleb,
- 11:32Speaker 1: thinks Caleb's great. But I did look up. I did
- 11:36Speaker 1: have to go on the Google and start inappropriately looking
- 11:40Speaker 1: up when did Curtis Brown pass Because Mattie tells the
- 11:43Speaker 1: story of actually being in the hospital. I think ar
- 11:47Speaker 1: aber when Curtis was passing, and that's when she remembers
- 11:54Speaker 1: talking to Caleb, and then they continued to talk for
- 11:57Speaker 1: a period of time and then at some point he said, Hey,
- 12:00Speaker 1: there's something here right are you feeling it? And then
- 12:03Speaker 1: he locks her down. So in twenty thirteen, when Curtis
- 12:07Speaker 1: Brown passes, Maddie is seventeen years old, so she's seventeen
- 12:12Speaker 1: years old when she has this interaction. I think in
- 12:14Speaker 1: the er with Caleb, sounds like they talk for a
- 12:17Speaker 1: couple of years. So seventeen eighteen nineteen, which puts us
- 12:21Speaker 1: in the timeline for season nine. She's in college and
- 12:26Speaker 1: it just feels like to me, and I don't mean
- 12:28Speaker 1: to be inappropriate. But it feels like to me like
- 12:30Speaker 1: he waited for her to turn eighteen, well yeah, and
- 12:33Speaker 1: then made his move on her totally. Was he grooming her.
- 12:37Speaker 2: A little bit? I don't think, because I think he's.
- 12:40Speaker 1: What they say, he's ten years old or so. If
- 12:42Speaker 1: she's eighteen here or nineteen, so he's twenty eight or
- 12:45Speaker 1: twenty nine, he's almost he's your age. That's how oldly
- 12:49Speaker 1: he's old.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Head, And like, I can't imagine.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Can you imagine dating is seventeen year old?
- 12:54Speaker 2: No, that's like a child to me. That's like a
- 12:56Speaker 2: child to me. But I just I don't know. I
- 12:59Speaker 2: look at them and I'm like, well, they're in like
- 13:00Speaker 2: a happy marriage.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I know what, like you have we have to talk
- 13:03Speaker 1: about this. So she was still living with Janelle when
- 13:07Speaker 1: she was seventeen or so when Gardis dies. So was
- 13:11Speaker 1: she having these conversations with Caleb? Did Janelle know this
- 13:15Speaker 1: entire time? Janelle doesn't seem to me in this scene
- 13:18Speaker 1: to be surprised at all by this information. Of course
- 13:21Speaker 1: she heard it before anybody else. I don't know. I'm
- 13:23Speaker 1: just I'm just trying to do my due diligence and
- 13:26Speaker 1: address the potentially inappropriate origins of the Caleb and Maddie
- 13:31Speaker 1: love story. But I agree, he seems like a great guy. Yeah,
- 13:34Speaker 1: they're together all these.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Years later, right, and they seemed normal.
- 13:38Speaker 1: We got kats. God bless, God bless. But it is
- 13:43Speaker 1: a little iffy.
- 13:44Speaker 2: It's a little as a little s us But it's
- 13:47Speaker 2: like when I was in high school, I knew girls
- 13:49Speaker 2: who were dating thirty year olds, like and obviously that's
- 13:53Speaker 2: gross and that's territory and weird, but like, I just
- 13:57Speaker 2: feel like it's more common than we think.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Probably especially in the Mormon community.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yes, and things like that, and that's gross and weird,
- 14:07Speaker 2: but we're happy for Maddy and Caleb, I guess. And
- 14:12Speaker 2: then we go over to Robin's house. This is where
- 14:15Speaker 2: we have a little conversation with Dayton because he's fifteen
- 14:18Speaker 2: and they have to let him know since you're this old,
- 14:22Speaker 2: you have to sign your own paperwork because you have
- 14:25Speaker 2: autonomy and you're allowed to make this decision. And the
- 14:28Speaker 2: judge basically just wants to make sure that you are
- 14:32Speaker 2: aware of what you are agreeing to and everything. And
- 14:36Speaker 2: it feels kind of like Robin is like coaching Dayton,
- 14:40Speaker 2: yes on how to feel about it and what to
- 14:43Speaker 2: say and you know, how to appear to the judge.
- 14:45Speaker 2: And Dayton is very matter of fact, and I feel
- 14:49Speaker 2: like he's kind of repeating some things that maybe Robin
- 14:52Speaker 2: had told him, just you know. He's like, well, it's fine,
- 14:56Speaker 2: it's just legal paperwork, like it's okay.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Doesn't he say at some point that he's confused?
- 15:01Speaker 2: He does. At one point he says, I think it
- 15:03Speaker 2: was to the camera. He says there's a lot of
- 15:06Speaker 2: mental stuff with the paperwork that he's like trying to
- 15:10Speaker 2: deal with, and I don't know. Cody asks him, like,
- 15:14Speaker 2: but are you okay with it though, like you want
- 15:16Speaker 2: to get adopted? And Dayton hesitates and is like, yeah, yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 2: There's a lot of those like little moments. He does
- 15:24Speaker 2: say he's like confused. He does say that it feels weird,
- 15:28Speaker 2: but ultimately he's happy about it because Cody's his dad
- 15:32Speaker 2: and he wants to be adopted. And that's where I
- 15:35Speaker 2: feel like Robin was coaching him on his actual feelings
- 15:39Speaker 2: because he's only fifteen, so you don't you don't really
- 15:42Speaker 2: know how to articulate your emotions at that age at all,
- 15:45Speaker 2: and especially with something as complicated as this. I don't know.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I kind of felt bad for him a little.
- 15:51Speaker 1: I do too, and we've said it all along, and
- 15:54Speaker 1: I will say again, I just I don't think that
- 15:56Speaker 1: he's as reconciled with this adoption or to this adoption
- 16:00Speaker 1: as Robin would like us to believe that he is.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I think he has things that he's thinking about. Yes,
- 16:06Speaker 1: when he's talking about like the mental load of the
- 16:07Speaker 1: process of the adoption, like, I'm sure that's a lot
- 16:10Speaker 1: for a teenager to handle, but there's the added component
- 16:12Speaker 1: of but that's my dad, and I love my dad
- 16:16Speaker 1: and I miss my dad and I want my dad
- 16:19Speaker 1: that he probably doesn't feel safe to actually say on camera,
- 16:23Speaker 1: much less to Robin and Cody. Yeah, directly, so I
- 16:26Speaker 1: really feel for him. Whereas Aurora is buying it hook
- 16:30Speaker 1: line and sinker and Brionna is too young to know
- 16:32Speaker 1: what's going on. You still have Dayton though, firstborn son
- 16:36Speaker 1: to Preston, who's got some reservations, and we're really not
- 16:40Speaker 1: doing the work we should be doing to try and
- 16:44Speaker 1: take care of Dayton in this moment. We're just pushing
- 16:46Speaker 1: him into it and pushing him through it.
- 16:48Speaker 2: And they said that it's only been five years that
- 16:50Speaker 2: Robin has been in the family and like been with Cody,
- 16:53Speaker 2: and I'm just like thinking, Okay, when you look at Dayton,
- 16:57Speaker 2: Aurora and Brionna's ages, that means that day and had
- 17:00Speaker 2: the majority of the time with their dad, he had
- 17:03Speaker 2: over ten years or whatever, and then he got with
- 17:07Speaker 2: or Robin got with Cody. But like Aurora and Brianna
- 17:10Speaker 2: were young enough that their reactions kind of make sense,
- 17:15Speaker 2: whereas with Dayton, he's definitely trying to figure out how
- 17:19Speaker 2: he actually feels. And I'm wondering it just gives credence
- 17:22Speaker 2: to like the conspiracy theory that we have now where
- 17:26Speaker 2: Dayton is moved out of the house and potentially with Preston,
- 17:30Speaker 2: who knows.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Well, he's not appearing on the show anymore, whereas Brianna
- 17:34Speaker 1: and Aurora are still showing up. So one does have
- 17:38Speaker 1: to wonder if you know, he's made contact with his father.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I wonder where he is. I don't see him on
- 17:44Speaker 1: social media, yeah, which I think is very smart, So
- 17:48Speaker 1: I just wonder what's going on. I just wish him.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Well me too, And I want to be sensitive about
- 17:53Speaker 2: the whole adoption thing because I know there's a lot
- 17:54Speaker 2: of people that have been adopted by step parents and stuff,
- 17:57Speaker 2: and I honestly think that that's great. It's just this
- 18:00Speaker 2: circumstance with Cody and Robin, it just feels very achy.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And I just I really feel bad for Dayton too,
- 18:06Speaker 2: because he's got aspergers and stuff, and so I'm just like,
- 18:09Speaker 2: if Robin is really manipulating him, like that's so diabolical
- 18:14Speaker 2: and evil. And so then we head to the lawyer's
- 18:17Speaker 2: office with Dayton to go and sign the paperwork, and
- 18:21Speaker 2: the lawyer's kind of not really coaching him, but just
- 18:24Speaker 2: explaining to him what the procedures about and like what
- 18:27Speaker 2: this really means. And when he signs his paperwork, you know,
- 18:31Speaker 2: Cody is going to be your legal father. He's going
- 18:34Speaker 2: to be liable for you. Like are you going to
- 18:36Speaker 2: be okay with that? And of course Dayton's just like, well, yeah,
- 18:39Speaker 2: it's fine, this is just legal. He's he's looking at
- 18:42Speaker 2: this in a very like analytical objective way. He's kind
- 18:48Speaker 2: of disconnecting from the emotionality of it. And it's probably
- 18:51Speaker 2: for the best, because this is a very emotionally complex thing,
- 18:55Speaker 2: especially when you're a teenager.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Well, and he hasn't been given permission to feel how
- 19:00Speaker 1: he feels. Yes, I don't think not at all.
- 19:03Speaker 2: And then he does say to the camera when he's
- 19:05Speaker 2: signing this document, it does feel like he's stepping into
- 19:10Speaker 2: adulthood and to maturity, like I'm making this decision for myself,
- 19:15Speaker 2: and I do think that that's fair and valid. I
- 19:17Speaker 2: wonder how he feels about it now as an actual adult,
- 19:21Speaker 2: and how he would reflect back on that, because if
- 19:24Speaker 2: it were me, I would feel a little weird about it.
- 19:27Speaker 2: And then of course Robin takes photographs of him signing
- 19:30Speaker 2: the paperwork because she's got to memorialize everything. And then
- 19:36Speaker 2: we have Cody ending the segment by saying something like
- 19:39Speaker 2: Dayton doesn't understand in this moment how important this actually is.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, it's an interesting statement to make. So
- 19:49Speaker 2: if he doesn't understand how important it is, how can.
- 19:51Speaker 1: He understand what he's actually doing legally exactly?
- 19:55Speaker 2: Just feels weird to me. And then the rest of
- 19:57Speaker 2: the episode is like the family getting ready to go
- 20:00Speaker 2: to court and talk about how they're nervous about it,
- 20:04Speaker 2: and then getting dressed and actually heading to the courthouse.
- 20:07Speaker 2: And then we get to the courthouse and there wasn't
- 20:10Speaker 2: a lot here other than the same old poligabusts never win,
- 20:15Speaker 2: and the judge could say no, right, and we could
- 20:18Speaker 2: be denied. And this is a big.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Dough and I got to make sure that my kids
- 20:23Speaker 1: are dressed appropriately like they're a Sunday best for the
- 20:26Speaker 1: most important day of their lives. There was that kind
- 20:30Speaker 1: of sweet interaction with Christine and truly that was getting
- 20:34Speaker 1: truly ready for the court date. And Christine is explaining
- 20:39Speaker 1: to truly what's going to happen, and the judge is
- 20:42Speaker 1: going to hear what we have to say, and then
- 20:44Speaker 1: the judge is going to make a decision. And she's
- 20:48Speaker 1: talking about all this and she starts to cry and
- 20:50Speaker 1: she's emotional, and I'm like, wow, Like through this all,
- 20:53Speaker 1: actually Christine really was rooting for this family. Yeah, she
- 20:57Speaker 1: gets blamed so much for not being a good sister wife,
- 21:01Speaker 1: not supporting Robin, not falling into line, but like you
- 21:05Speaker 1: can see her leaning into this adoption process and being
- 21:09Speaker 1: genuinely it feels genuinely happy and glad that these kids
- 21:12Speaker 1: are coming into the family. And so when we fast
- 21:14Speaker 1: forward to You're of our twenty twenty five and then
- 21:18Speaker 1: last season and the season before, we've got Robin talking
- 21:20Speaker 1: about how her kids were never accepted. Yeah, never integrated
- 21:24Speaker 1: into the family. It was always a problem. I'm like,
- 21:26Speaker 1: I'm not seeing that at all in these early seasons.
- 21:30Speaker 1: And Christine is one of the most supportive of them all.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Definitely, and she her emotions do genuinely feel like authentic here.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And so that's why I don't understand why Robin says
- 21:40Speaker 2: nobody accepted her and her kids, And like, then you
- 21:43Speaker 2: have little interstitials with like Janelle's kids, Hunter and Madam Maddie.
- 21:49Speaker 2: I think it was and Hunter being like, yeah, like
- 21:52Speaker 2: this is a big deal for dayton A, Rora and Brianna,
- 21:54Speaker 2: but they've been our siblings this entire time, So for us,
- 21:57Speaker 2: it's like just kind of solidifying that it's not that
- 22:00Speaker 2: big of a deal. We're just glad to have them
- 22:02Speaker 2: as part of our family. And like you have, everybody
- 22:05Speaker 2: had expressing the same sentiments about it, and they are
- 22:08Speaker 2: genuinely supportive of dating Aurora and Breonna, and they're being
- 22:12Speaker 2: kind to them. So I just don't understand.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Well, did you see when they were in the courtroom
- 22:16Speaker 1: and Cody and Robin were sitting at the table with
- 22:19Speaker 1: their lawyer and behind them seated with Janelle, like before
- 22:24Speaker 1: anything even started, anybody was sworn in. She was crying, Yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 1: like she was emotional, Like Janelle loved those kids. Janelle
- 22:31Speaker 1: wanted those kids, so like I just anything she says
- 22:34Speaker 1: these days, like we've been talking about, something happened along
- 22:37Speaker 1: the way. She might not have started as a manipulative person. Oh,
- 22:41Speaker 1: that was our Patreon commentary because we watched that McKelty interview.
- 22:44Speaker 1: She might not Robin might not have started as a
- 22:46Speaker 1: manipulative person with an agenda, but at some point along
- 22:50Speaker 1: the way, something shifted in Robin and changed, and she's
- 22:54Speaker 1: anything she says these days, it's a it's a damn lot.
- 22:58Speaker 2: It's such a damn line right of history, and it's
- 23:01Speaker 2: crazy because you have literal evidence, like you have video
- 23:05Speaker 2: evidence of this.
- 23:06Speaker 1: And you're also hurting your kids, yeah, and needing to
- 23:09Speaker 1: tell them that the other kids don't love them on
- 23:11Speaker 1: the Christmas group chat, right, or that it's not safe
- 23:14Speaker 1: to be with these kids who literally showed up on
- 23:17Speaker 1: the day they were adopted and were genuinely happy for you.
- 23:20Speaker 2: And their Sunday best and everybody's on their best behavior too,
- 23:23Speaker 2: Like nobody is out of line there's no fights or
- 23:26Speaker 2: anything between any of the other siblings, Like, everybody is
- 23:29Speaker 2: there for Robin's kids. So I just don't get it, honestly,
- 23:34Speaker 2: And you know, taking all of that aside, like watching
- 23:38Speaker 2: this episode, I'm like, oh, this is actually very sweet
- 23:41Speaker 2: in terms of the whole family dynamic of being so
- 23:44Speaker 2: supportive for these kids. You know, you don't get that
- 23:47Speaker 2: a lot and a lot of blended families, you know,
- 23:49Speaker 2: when parents get divorced and the parents remarry and have
- 23:52Speaker 2: other kids involved, Like it's it's hard to blend a family,
- 23:56Speaker 2: especially with other kids involved. But this family in particular
- 24:00Speaker 2: seemed to be very accepting and loving. So I don't know,
- 24:03Speaker 2: but we did have these like random little scenes. We
- 24:06Speaker 2: had Cody having dinner at Robin's the day before the
- 24:11Speaker 2: court appearance, and I just want to point out that
- 24:13Speaker 2: he accidentally called Aurora missus brown. Oh, and that was weird, dude.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Why that were? Well, she's getting her name changed. I'm
- 24:24Speaker 1: sure your castage spurs.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I just think we have to stop horror weirds me
- 24:29Speaker 2: out many. Her vibe is weird.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Generally, like emotionally, I don't want to say unregulated or unstable,
- 24:37Speaker 1: but just very emotionally pronounced yeah, hard on her sleeve.
- 24:41Speaker 1: And there's nothing wrong with her. No, no, because her mom's
- 24:43Speaker 1: an EmPATH. Sure, and I'm sure genetically she got the
- 24:46Speaker 1: EmPATH gene, but I mean it has been modeled for her.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Robin's a crier. She's very emotional. I think she's sweet,
- 24:53Speaker 1: I really do. I just think she's looking for love, honey.
- 24:56Speaker 2: She weirds me out, man, and not like her personally.
- 25:00Speaker 2: It's just the way that she reacts to this adoption
- 25:02Speaker 2: is weird to me. How much she cries about it.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I'm just like, oh my God, like chill up, just like.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Seeing a child cry makes you up. So God, No,
- 25:14Speaker 1: it's just a rar, I promise.
- 25:17Speaker 2: But then we have a little scene. I think it's
- 25:19Speaker 2: the day of the court appearance, because everybody is getting
- 25:22Speaker 2: in their Sunday best and we have the camera crew
- 25:25Speaker 2: checking in with everybody. We go over to Mary's sad ass,
- 25:29Speaker 2: whack ass lonely haunted mansion and she's in her office
- 25:33Speaker 2: and everything is dark. She's kind of dark in her energy,
- 25:38Speaker 2: and she's just like, Yeah, it's a good day.
- 25:40Speaker 1: It's a great day. We're working for we're working for
- 25:43Speaker 1: these kids and stuff.
- 25:44Speaker 2: We work so hard and I'm.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Not doing anything else in this office with my blinds
- 25:49Speaker 1: closed and my door locked at all.
- 25:52Speaker 2: And then ding ding, Yeah, her phone goes off and
- 25:55Speaker 2: she immediately is like checking the notification. Then she puts
- 25:59Speaker 2: it away.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Interesting that production left it in there.
- 26:02Speaker 2: I kind of love that.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Well, but let's go back to twenty fifteen and you're
- 26:07Speaker 1: a producer or a camera person and you're filming this.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Do they have just an intuition that something is going
- 26:13Speaker 1: on with Mary? Or is Robin, Kendra and Cody. Are
- 26:19Speaker 1: these three behind the scenes already knowing about the catfish
- 26:23Speaker 1: and already tipping off production that something is going on
- 26:26Speaker 1: with Mary? So they're leaving these little easter eggs in
- 26:29Speaker 1: the filming for the catfish reveal down the road, because like,
- 26:33Speaker 1: why would you leave that in there? Yeah, unless they're
- 26:37Speaker 1: trying to call it out a little bit. And how
- 26:39Speaker 1: would they know though, unless they heard it from somebody.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Who would they have heard it from? Vole?
- 26:44Speaker 2: I mean it would be Cody and Robin could be Leo,
- 26:48Speaker 2: It could be it could be Leon too, mm hmm,
- 26:51Speaker 2: or like you know, at the end of the season
- 26:53Speaker 2: when they find out about Mary's catfish and stuff. Then
- 26:56Speaker 2: the editors are going back and editing everything and then
- 26:59Speaker 2: keeping all of these Easter eggs because they're finding it
- 27:01Speaker 2: out on the back end.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I love that they kept that in. Honestly me too,
- 27:05Speaker 2: because I thought that that was really telling. And I'm
- 27:09Speaker 2: just like, oh, that was a that was obviously Sam,
- 27:11Speaker 2: Like it wasn't anybody else, you know, Like the way
- 27:14Speaker 2: that she immediately checks her phone, I'm like, Wow, that's
- 27:17Speaker 2: Sus and her vibe the entire episode is Sus. Because
- 27:21Speaker 2: everybody else is emotional, everybody else has little tearballs, everybody
- 27:27Speaker 2: else is like really excited and happy for this. Mary
- 27:30Speaker 2: is the odd man out, the only one that's like
- 27:33Speaker 2: not emoting, not even really smiling. She's just there.
- 27:37Speaker 1: That was me right before I divorced my first two husbands.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Oh my god, like this season of time, before it
- 27:46Speaker 1: all went down, I was completely disconnected. It wasn't safe
- 27:52Speaker 1: to emotionally be like in that relationship. I was trying
- 27:56Speaker 1: to close myself off so that it wouldn't hurt so
- 27:59Speaker 1: much because I already gone. I was already out the
- 28:02Speaker 1: door in my mind. And so when I'm watching this,
- 28:06Speaker 1: I can see that in her she's already gone. She's
- 28:08Speaker 1: making plans, she's dreaming of her new life, and she's
- 28:12Speaker 1: ready to go. She's almost there.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Now, do you think that she was wanting to leave
- 28:18Speaker 2: Cody for Sam at this point or do you think
- 28:21Speaker 2: that she was just lonely in her house and kind
- 28:25Speaker 2: of horny or whatever.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Well, how much time has passed from the legal divorce,
- 28:30Speaker 1: which again Cody had told her, if you do this,
- 28:34Speaker 1: you and I can get our relationship back on track.
- 28:37Speaker 1: So how much time has passed? Because I think in
- 28:39Speaker 1: this episode they said it was like a year. We
- 28:42Speaker 1: see when she signs the divorce papers, she's a chunky,
- 28:46Speaker 1: funky lady, okay, And when she is there at the
- 28:52Speaker 1: desk when the call comes in, she's much thinner. So
- 28:55Speaker 1: she's on her h Pylori journey totally. It's about a year.
- 28:59Speaker 1: And so my theory is that Cody never showed up
- 29:03Speaker 1: to get their relationship back on track. He ghosted her instead,
- 29:08Speaker 1: and so she's stuck in her house and then she
- 29:10Speaker 1: gets caught up with the catfish. Yeah, and she's on
- 29:13Speaker 1: her way to not giving a fuck.
- 29:14Speaker 2: And my thing is is like, if she was already
- 29:17Speaker 2: not giving a fuck, then why did she feel so
- 29:20Speaker 2: bad when she got caught and then she like completely
- 29:23Speaker 2: reversed all of it, and She's like, no, but I
- 29:24Speaker 2: do care about the family and I love everybody, and
- 29:27Speaker 2: I'm trying to.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Because then she found out that Sam was Jackie, So
- 29:31Speaker 1: what else? If Sam were Sam, she would have left
- 29:34Speaker 1: the family, no problem.
- 29:36Speaker 2: But I'm just like Mary, you could have gone on
- 29:38Speaker 2: the dating apps again and found another one.
- 29:40Speaker 1: I think she was so embarrassed. Yeah, I think this
- 29:44Speaker 1: idea of the image, the image that the family has
- 29:47Speaker 1: been projecting. And remember Christine talks about how important it
- 29:51Speaker 1: was in her book that the family was such a
- 29:53Speaker 1: united front, like they were all together and the image
- 29:56Speaker 1: and the message was paramount. I think Mary was just
- 30:00Speaker 1: so frightened. But how that would impact her business, how
- 30:04Speaker 1: it would impact her reputation and just her general image.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I wonder what would happen if if nobody ever found out,
- 30:10Speaker 2: like if this was never leaked, if Sam was actually
- 30:14Speaker 2: a man. I wonder how long it would have lasted
- 30:16Speaker 2: before Mary decided to leave Cody.
- 30:19Speaker 1: When by the time they get to Alaska, she's already gone,
- 30:22Speaker 1: you think, so, yeah, they go to dinner. I'm just
- 30:24Speaker 1: remembering off of like fumes, but I if I recall correctly,
- 30:28Speaker 1: They go to dinner and she tells the adults like, yeah,
- 30:31Speaker 1: I'm not sure if I'm going to be around though
- 30:35Speaker 1: in this family she's already trying to telegraph to them
- 30:38Speaker 1: that it's she's sober. I got a man. My name
- 30:43Speaker 1: is Sam Wood and he's handsome. Oh yes, yes. And
- 30:49Speaker 1: you can really see it in the vibrations.
- 30:52Speaker 2: And the can though, and like in her face and
- 30:55Speaker 2: how quiet she is. She is so disconnected, and like,
- 30:58Speaker 2: I do feel for her. At the same time, I'd
- 31:00Speaker 2: do judge her a little bit for being doing this
- 31:03Speaker 2: on the back end and sucking auto banana and stuff privately, and.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you're doing it out of integrity. Yeah, you could
- 31:08Speaker 1: have had full integrity and said, no, fuck you. You
- 31:11Speaker 1: lied to me. I got the divorce because you asked
- 31:14Speaker 1: me to, because that's what I believe happened. And you
- 31:15Speaker 1: said you were gonna do something, you never did it,
- 31:18Speaker 1: and so I'm out of here. Bye, You're a neglectful husband. Right,
- 31:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna go find a new man. She would have
- 31:24Speaker 1: done that, and we would.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Have rooted for her totally.
- 31:26Speaker 1: We would have all rooted for her.
- 31:28Speaker 2: One hundred percent. I wonder what everybody else's vibe was
- 31:32Speaker 2: back then if you watched this, like did you feel
- 31:35Speaker 2: for Mary? Did you feel bad for her? Were you
- 31:37Speaker 2: judging the crap out of her? Because we can look
- 31:39Speaker 2: back now, I understand the full picture or whatever, but
- 31:42Speaker 2: it'd be interesting to get some people's perspective when they
- 31:45Speaker 2: watched it back then. And so then we arrive in
- 31:48Speaker 2: the courtroom long awaited, make it stipe, and it's so
- 31:54Speaker 2: dramatized for literally no reason, Like everybody's worried that the
- 31:58Speaker 2: judge is gonna say no, and they're asking Cody and
- 32:02Speaker 2: Robin questions and Robin's like, it's like we're getting interrogated.
- 32:05Speaker 2: It's very clinical.
- 32:06Speaker 1: It's like, well, yeah, it's a courtroom.
- 32:08Speaker 2: It's a courtroom, it's.
- 32:09Speaker 1: A bedroom law now.
- 32:11Speaker 2: And then you know, we had this whole segment about
- 32:14Speaker 2: like what if the judge takes Dayton in his private
- 32:17Speaker 2: chambers and questions him, and that literally never happens. It's
- 32:21Speaker 2: completely fine. They had all their paperwork in order. The
- 32:24Speaker 2: judge says, yeah, you are right, you get to be parents, granted,
- 32:28Speaker 2: and then everybody bursts into tears and everybody's super happy.
- 32:32Speaker 2: And then we take a big family group photo in
- 32:36Speaker 2: the courtroom, and then we have a photo I think
- 32:38Speaker 2: of Cody and Robin and the kids and everybody's happy.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Only did you see that supreme side chick Alice there?
- 32:47Speaker 2: Oh the background, the nanny.
- 32:49Speaker 1: No, that's Robin's mama. Oh, Alice there with Hermie.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I didn't see Alice in there.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I saw that she was in the back row. She
- 33:00Speaker 1: taught Robin everything she knows. She's probably like, get the bag.
- 33:08Speaker 2: And then I think we end the episode with Mary
- 33:10Speaker 2: again very somber, being like, yes, the best day.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Ever, foreshadowing episodes to come.
- 33:19Speaker 2: It's like really sad. She's like I think she says
- 33:22Speaker 2: something to the on the couch like it wasn't about
- 33:25Speaker 2: me or the divorce. It was about the kids. That
- 33:27Speaker 2: was what it was all about. Like, Okay, all.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Right, something's wrong here. Something is very you guys are
- 33:34Speaker 1: not talking about it.
- 33:35Speaker 2: What is it? Well? And I understand like the producers
- 33:38Speaker 2: kind of keeping the storyline throughout the season of like
- 33:41Speaker 2: the legal divorce and how it's a big deal because
- 33:43Speaker 2: it was a big deal, yes, and a huge thing
- 33:46Speaker 2: for Mary, and Mary was very obviously just upset about it.
- 33:50Speaker 2: But I don't know. It's just funny to hear her
- 33:53Speaker 2: verbalize it, like, yeah, it wasn't about me, but it
- 33:56Speaker 2: was though, because we know that your marriage is crumbling
- 33:59Speaker 2: right now.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Yes, And I also think she's trying to show us
- 34:06Speaker 1: these like victim vibes as well, like like something's wrong
- 34:12Speaker 1: that they just can't talk about. Oh yeah, so that
- 34:14Speaker 1: when she does actually leave, she'll have something to fall
- 34:17Speaker 1: back on, like I was really unhappy and I had
- 34:21Speaker 1: to do this. I don't know, maybe I'm giving her
- 34:23Speaker 1: more credit.
- 34:24Speaker 2: You know, you might be right though, because I mean,
- 34:27Speaker 2: if you are having this kind of an emotional affair,
- 34:29Speaker 2: like you've got to be thinking about these kinds of
- 34:32Speaker 2: things and thinking about like what life would look like
- 34:35Speaker 2: if I left the family right.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Now, especially if you're like a celebrityy.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, Like there's all these other layers and stuff.
- 34:42Speaker 2: She really should have just fucking bit the bullet and left. Yes,
- 34:45Speaker 2: how iconic would it have been so great if she
- 34:48Speaker 2: just was like, yeah, I got this legal divorce, I'm
- 34:50Speaker 2: leaving Cody now. I know Robin's pregnant, I know we're
- 34:53Speaker 2: adopting these kids.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I'll give a butt I'm out by Yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 2: That would have been so lit. But it's all right.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Everything happened the way I was supposed to. So let
- 35:01Speaker 2: me get to the preview for the rest of the season.
- 35:03Speaker 2: We have like a family meeting with the adults. They're
- 35:07Speaker 2: discussing doing a celebration for the adoption and like a barbecue.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Or swinding that is a celebration with these people, so stupid.
- 35:15Speaker 2: But Robin is mouthing off to Cody and arguing with
- 35:19Speaker 2: him about something or whatever, and he says something like,
- 35:21Speaker 2: don't get your panties in a bunch, and she gets
- 35:24Speaker 2: all upset at him, and the other wives are like, wow,
- 35:26Speaker 2: it's so cool, Like get to see Robin mouthing off
- 35:29Speaker 2: to Cody because she never does. Do you think that
- 35:31Speaker 2: was performative?
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yes?
- 35:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought you would say that. And then we
- 35:35Speaker 2: have Christine getting her beautiful concrete slab in her backyard.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Because does she get fake grass and a nice, beautiful
- 35:44Speaker 2: done backyard, No, she gets concrete.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but we are going.
- 35:47Speaker 2: To have the family do their handprints and footprints or.
- 35:51Speaker 1: One in three years, we're going to sell these houses.
- 35:53Speaker 2: I was thinking about that.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I have no connection whatsoever to these handprints.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I was thinking about that, like, what they do with that.
- 35:58Speaker 1: After the time capsule? Right do they dig it up?
- 36:01Speaker 1: And we haven't gotten there yet, right, they might have digged,
- 36:03Speaker 1: they might have dug it up. I don't know.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I don't know either. And then we have Robin giving
- 36:09Speaker 2: Cody that infamous drawing picture of him as a young
- 36:15Speaker 2: man with her babies that is from from Christine's actual
- 36:21Speaker 2: photo with Cody. So I can't wait for that.
- 36:24Speaker 1: That is going to be so weird, Uncanny Valley. That
- 36:29Speaker 1: is just such a strange and audacious thing to do
- 36:33Speaker 1: to take a portrait from Christine's family and superimpose your
- 36:37Speaker 1: own kids as children with a young Cody. But that's
- 36:41Speaker 1: just wild and weird to me.
- 36:43Speaker 2: That is super super wag.
- 36:45Speaker 1: I just want to see how everybody responds, because they
- 36:48Speaker 1: know they're going to pretend that it's still awesome. Why
- 36:50Speaker 1: that is so great? But there's got to be somebody
- 36:53Speaker 1: in the crowd that's like, this is an overstep. I mean,
- 36:57Speaker 1: and Lucker, you do it, lady, Like.
- 36:59Speaker 2: I remember watching that episode. I remember everybody's reactions because
- 37:03Speaker 2: I just remember my own being like, ew, that's so bizarre,
- 37:07Speaker 2: Like you didn't have to do that. You could have
- 37:09Speaker 2: done a million other gifts that could have commemorated this adoption, like.
- 37:13Speaker 1: An actual photo shoot, Yeah, real life Cody and your actual.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Children right in the current year, Like it didn't need
- 37:20Speaker 2: to be modeled after one of Christine's actual photos. Like
- 37:23Speaker 2: that is so icky to me, and it brings up
- 37:28Speaker 2: what we talked about, I think last week, about the
- 37:29Speaker 2: birth certificates and how they added Cody's name to all
- 37:33Speaker 2: of the birth certificates. Right, Apparently that is a thing
- 37:36Speaker 2: in adoption cases. So we had a bunch of people
- 37:37Speaker 2: commenting being like, yeah, that's standard and normal, and I'm like, okay,
- 37:41Speaker 2: then why couldn't you, like I don't know, copied the
- 37:43Speaker 2: birth certificates and framed them or something like made a
- 37:46Speaker 2: cute collage or whatever with some photos, Like it didn't
- 37:48Speaker 2: have to be this. It was very pointed and weird.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Well, and it's like you're taking over Christine's family. Yeah,
- 37:54Speaker 1: there's a kind of a subliminal message there exactly, But
- 37:57Speaker 1: I cannot help pick up die a boar well beatres
- 38:01Speaker 1: This was fun totally. Did we have anything else that
- 38:05Speaker 1: we need to say to these beautiful records before we
- 38:07Speaker 1: get up on out of here?
- 38:09Speaker 2: Well, if you love our podcast, please do us a favor.

- 38:22Speaker 2: Is that?
- 38:23Speaker 1: I love that so much? I have to ask you
- 38:26Speaker 1: because I know last week we were asking the folks
- 38:30Speaker 1: if there were any shows that were coming up or
- 38:32Speaker 1: that they wanted us to cover, And I'm rarely in
- 38:34Speaker 1: the comments, so has anybody given us any information or
- 38:38Speaker 1: any show?
- 38:38Speaker 2: There was a few comments for that Little Singles?
- 38:42Speaker 1: Okay show?
- 38:45Speaker 2: Is that what it's called? Love People Single? Yeah?
- 38:49Speaker 1: Little People Single? Yeah? And I've seen stuff on my
- 38:52Speaker 1: timeline for that. It looks really good, does it. It
- 38:54Speaker 1: kind of looks like it's going to be produced though, Yeah,
- 38:58Speaker 1: but what if it's like ninety Days Fiance Last Resort
- 39:01Speaker 1: where they're all fucking and talking about So I heard
- 39:03Speaker 1: ninety Day Fiance Last Resort is really.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Good with Sumie and Jenny.

- 39:17Speaker 1: something going on there. BWL. Until we select a show,
- 39:19Speaker 1: we're gonna continue to come back every week. There's always
- 39:22Speaker 1: some Sister Wives stuff to talk about.
