- 0:21Speaker 1: All right, you are listening to Eagles postgame analysis here
- 0:24Speaker 1: at the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running
- 0:27Speaker 1: weekly Philly sports podcast show in the world, over eleven
- 0:30Speaker 1: and a half years strong. In the Philadelphia Eagles winning
- 0:33Speaker 1: Week six of their twenty twenty four twenty twenty five season,
- 0:36Speaker 1: beating the Cleveland Browns by a score of twenty to sixteen.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Down at the link, I can't believe they ended up
- 0:43Speaker 1: winning this game. Actually, all we all knew they were
- 0:46Speaker 1: gonna win this game because the Cleveland Browns absolutely stink. Yes,
- 0:51Speaker 1: it's incredible. Well, really quick before I introduced my guest,
- 0:54Speaker 1: Brandon Graham, played his two hundredth game as an Eagle,
- 0:57Speaker 1: the most enfranchised history in injuries on the game here
- 1:01Speaker 1: during the game, I should say, Dallas godd are going
- 1:03Speaker 1: down with a hamstring, Darius Slay with a knee injury,
- 1:06Speaker 1: Jordan Mylotto with a hamstring injury. I'm Jeff Warren. I'm
- 1:10Speaker 1: here on my good buddy Matt Rogers from the Honorable
- 1:13Speaker 1: Mentioned podcast. You can listen on whatever podcast platform you're
- 1:16Speaker 1: listening to us on at Politidope over on threads and
- 1:21Speaker 1: Honorable Mentioned Podcast over on threads as well, my friend,
- 1:24Speaker 1: it is great to see you. Great talking to you
- 1:27Speaker 1: here during this postgame. Man, holy cow, I said right
- 1:30Speaker 1: before we hit the record, but it was like it
- 1:32Speaker 1: was like a like a like a moral loss that
- 1:35Speaker 1: I'm feeling right now.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, this is this is looking like a
- 1:40Speaker 2: bad football team.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Guys.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Like, if we're being honest with ourselves, I mean, we're
- 1:45Speaker 2: one more slip up from the Browns walking off that field,
- 1:49Speaker 2: you know, excited and we got a lot of cheering
- 1:51Speaker 2: Fred Johnson ripping the helmet off, which was really exciting
- 1:54Speaker 2: to see him getting back up. Fred and the team
- 1:57Speaker 2: believes in him and everything. But I mean, you look
- 2:02Speaker 2: at everything except for just a couple of extremely talented plays.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I mean that catch from aj Brown down there at
- 2:09Speaker 3: the end.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 2: You know, if you take away some of these freakish
- 2:14Speaker 2: type plays and the explosive rounds beat the Eagles.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Y yeah, yeah, you take away the explosive plays. I
- 2:20Speaker 1: mean it's yeah, right, the Browns probably do beat the
- 2:24Speaker 1: Eagles in this game. My gosh, oh horrible, horrible. Well,
- 2:29Speaker 1: let's get into the themes here, okay, Matt, Because the
- 2:32Speaker 1: fact of the matter is this team's coming out of
- 2:34Speaker 1: their bye week, they had time to re examine, They
- 2:36Speaker 1: had time to reassess the early part of the season,
- 2:40Speaker 1: and let's really discuss how they did here. Because Jalen
- 2:42Speaker 1: Hurts coming right out of the gate, went zero for
- 2:44Speaker 1: five in passing. I mean, this team still has not
- 2:48Speaker 1: scored any first quarter points this season and in the
- 2:51Speaker 1: past seven games dating back to last season, if you
- 2:54Speaker 1: include the game against the Buccaneers in the playoffs, I'm
- 2:57Speaker 1: looking at this offense. Matt offensively, Kellen Moore was hired
- 3:01Speaker 1: to revitalize an Eagles offense that was completely stagnated because
- 3:05Speaker 1: it refused to use modern day offensive play calling, including
- 3:10Speaker 1: pre snap motion as we all talked about during the offseason,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and they relied way too heavily on Eagle skill position
- 3:16Speaker 1: players winning one on one battles. Okay, that was the
- 3:19Speaker 1: issue last year. A lot of the same team is
- 3:21Speaker 1: still here in terms of those skill position players. In fact,
- 3:24Speaker 1: it was upgraded and running back position as we know
- 3:26Speaker 1: at Saquon Barkley. But for five weeks of this season,
- 3:29Speaker 1: it does not seem like this offense has really changed
- 3:32Speaker 1: much at all, except amazing athleticism from AJ Brown and
- 3:38Speaker 1: from Devonte Smith and from Saquon Barkley getting the job
- 3:42Speaker 1: done when they need to. It just doesn't seem like
- 3:45Speaker 1: it is a revitalized and energetic based offense, and I'm
- 3:49Speaker 1: it really concerns me. It really does.
- 3:52Speaker 2: One of the things I would say the only like
- 3:55Speaker 2: outside of just freakish plays on multiple occasions where he
- 3:58Speaker 2: basically aj Brown dunk on a guy in the end
- 4:01Speaker 2: zone and then that amazing hands catch down there. The
- 4:04Speaker 2: other silver lining is Grant cal Katara. I didn't know
- 4:07Speaker 2: he had that in him. So I do want to
- 4:09Speaker 2: give a shout out to Grant Calcatarra. He did play
- 4:12Speaker 2: well today. But I just it's really frustrated that that
- 4:17Speaker 2: we just don't figure out creative ways to get Sakuon
- 4:19Speaker 2: Barkley the ball. Yeah, everybody else can see. I mean,
- 4:23Speaker 2: he's the he's without Christian McCaffrey, he's clearly the best
- 4:26Speaker 2: running back in football this year, and he's just he's
- 4:31Speaker 2: just being completely stagnated by this offense. I mean, what
- 4:34Speaker 2: do you what do you think? I mean, I think
- 4:36Speaker 2: he got like seventeen carries today. Jeff was about it
- 4:38Speaker 2: was about seventeen. It was his seventeen total touches.
- 4:41Speaker 1: It was eighteen carries actually eighteen carries and then had
- 4:46Speaker 1: two receptions for seven yards. So he touched the ball
- 4:49Speaker 1: twenty times today and it wasn't good enough unfortunately, only
- 4:54Speaker 1: average two point six yards per rush. He didn't have
- 4:58Speaker 1: any explosive plays today. It was kind of a bizarre
- 5:02Speaker 1: game for him. And then again he's going up against
- 5:04Speaker 1: a defense that is pretty good. And I really want
- 5:07Speaker 1: to like get into where, where and how this offense
- 5:10Speaker 1: starts because our good friend of this podcast, Brandon Lee
- 5:14Speaker 1: GOUTONBLG from Bleedinggreen nation dot com, he shot off a tweet.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I want to reference that tweet here. Okay, Week one
- 5:22Speaker 1: or the opening drive of the game Eagles three plays
- 5:26Speaker 1: negative five yards which resulted in interception. Week two, four
- 5:30Speaker 1: plays for nineteen yards resulted in a punt. Week three,
- 5:34Speaker 1: three plays for negative nine yards resulted in a punt.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Week four, three plays for two yards resulted in a punt.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Now today in this game again coming out of the
- 5:47Speaker 1: bye week, Matt Week six, here, first drive, three plays
- 5:51Speaker 1: for five yards five yards resulted in a punt, and
- 5:54Speaker 1: it took a minute and three seconds off the clock.
- 5:57Speaker 1: That's it. The second drive of the game by the Eagles,
- 5:59Speaker 1: offense seven plays for sixteen yards that resulted in a punt.
- 6:04Speaker 1: They cannot get any sort of momentum moving in the
- 6:08Speaker 1: first quarter, which leads us to again the stagnation that
- 6:12Speaker 1: we're talking about with this offense, and it leads us
- 6:14Speaker 1: to the stress. When we're, you know, sitting at home
- 6:17Speaker 1: watching this game or any of these games, we're stressed
- 6:21Speaker 1: out and we're like, my gosh, they need to make
- 6:23Speaker 1: a comeback here in the second half, and oh, my gosh,
- 6:25Speaker 1: is they're really gonna happen. The lack of motivation, I
- 6:29Speaker 1: don't even want to say motivation, but the lack of
- 6:31Speaker 1: creativity that you are talking about specifically with this offense.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It needs to happen right out of the gate, using
- 6:38Speaker 1: Saquon right out of the gate a number of those
- 6:40Speaker 1: opening drives throughout the first six weeks of this season. Here,
- 6:44Speaker 1: Sakwon Barkley hasn't really touched the ball too too much,
- 6:47Speaker 1: and it's a shame. It really is a shame given
- 6:49Speaker 1: his talent. This is an issue with this team. I
- 6:53Speaker 1: don't know what's gonna happen with Nick Sirianni moving forward here.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I don't know what's gonna happen offensively. Jeffrey Lurry and
- 6:58Speaker 1: Howie Roseman are probably not too happy. Yes, a win
- 7:01Speaker 1: is a win. We're happy for the win. We're happy
- 7:03Speaker 1: this team is three and two, But I'm not happy.
- 7:06Speaker 1: They can't be happy with with where the team is
- 7:08Speaker 1: at right now?
- 7:10Speaker 2: You know, and you mind if I transition to a
- 7:12Speaker 2: second theme here is theme of mind. Yeah, so I'm
- 7:16Speaker 2: not too happy with Howie Roseman because I think he
- 7:19Speaker 2: spent fifty one million dollars on a guy I'm not
- 7:21Speaker 2: sure exists.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Yeah, number zero, it's a big zerop.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So I'm on the ground a few times today. I
- 7:31Speaker 1: thought he was supposed to be brushing the passer. I
- 7:33Speaker 1: see him on the ground rolling around. I'm like, what's
- 7:35Speaker 1: going on here with Bryce Huff again again?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Brandon Graham is the Philadelphia Eagles best defensive end.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Yes, yes, at what thirty five years old?
- 7:46Speaker 1: Fifty five years old? No? Just I love him. We
- 7:50Speaker 1: all love him. We all love him. Thank God for him.
- 7:52Speaker 2: He's playing well, by the way, Yeah, he actually is
- 7:55Speaker 2: playing well. It's not but it's like Brandon Graham who's
- 7:58Speaker 2: playing well, not pro level, but playing well as an
- 8:02Speaker 2: NFL player. And then you've got sweaty who's you know,
- 8:05Speaker 2: he had a sack today, but you know guys are.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Leaving him unblocked. Yep. Yeah. And and and.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Bryce Huff looks like he's out there on the sled.
- 8:16Speaker 2: He just looks like I mean, he's just like up
- 8:19Speaker 2: under a guy, just pushing, pushing, pushing. They're not even
- 8:22Speaker 2: worried about it. They don't ever double team send a
- 8:25Speaker 2: guy to chip him ever. I mean, it's pretty horrible.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I mean, I I think I think we've got to
- 8:32Speaker 2: figure something out here. Week eight is coming up soon
- 8:35Speaker 2: with the trade deadline, and they got to make a move.
- 8:39Speaker 2: This team isn't going anywhere if you can't get a
- 8:42Speaker 2: pass rush. I mean, Deshaun Watson just flat out sucks.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I mean he sucks at this point. And he went
- 8:48Speaker 2: ten for ten tend the game. Sure, I mean, if
- 8:52Speaker 2: you can't get a rush on And then they got
- 8:55Speaker 2: five sacks today.
- 8:57Speaker 1: That almost double up exactly. They've had six sacks coming
- 9:01Speaker 1: into I was gonna mention that, I'm glad you did.
- 9:03Speaker 1: They had six sacs coming into week six. Here they
- 9:06Speaker 1: got five today. I'm happy. I'm happy about that. Then again,
- 9:09Speaker 1: this Brown's offensive line not the best in the world.
- 9:13Speaker 2: No, I mean they lost their center. Just like in
- 9:15Speaker 2: the Saints game. The Saints lost their center early in
- 9:19Speaker 2: the game. Now today the Cleveland Browns lost their center.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I couldn't really tell a difference. I mean, Jalen Carter
- 9:24Speaker 2: had a couple of really good plays, but it's not
- 9:26Speaker 2: like he's absolutely dominating the game. Yeah, Cleveland Browns weren't
- 9:30Speaker 2: moving the ball. They were gashing this team, the Philadelphia Eagles,
- 9:34Speaker 2: on the ground, and they were not converting on third
- 9:37Speaker 2: down because Deshaun Watson couldn't can't hit a barn in
- 9:40Speaker 2: the broad side of a barn right now. I mean,
- 9:42Speaker 2: he's flat out missing, dudes. And so if you had
- 9:45Speaker 2: a serviceable quarterback, if you had last year's Joe Flacco,
- 9:48Speaker 2: the Philadelphia Eagles probably walk on that field with a
- 9:50Speaker 2: big al.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Today exactly home field advantage. They certainly don't have it
- 9:55Speaker 1: because they lost their first home game of the season
- 9:57Speaker 1: as well. But so I wanted to dive into another
- 10:00Speaker 1: theme with you here, Matt, and it's it deals with
- 10:04Speaker 1: and we see it almost always with this team, or
- 10:07Speaker 1: at least maybe not always, but at least every other
- 10:09Speaker 1: game or so. There's some sort of comedy of errors
- 10:13Speaker 1: that happens with this team. We saw it in the
- 10:15Speaker 1: first half. You've got Quinjon Mitchell who should have had
- 10:18Speaker 1: an interception in the second quarter, but CJ. Gardner Johnson
- 10:21Speaker 1: runs right into him, also trying to.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Play a good offense there he broke that broke up
- 10:25Speaker 2: that interception. Well, yes, yeah, exactly, I love you, man,
- 10:28Speaker 2: but that was horseshit. It was that's horseshit.
- 10:30Speaker 1: It was terrible.
- 10:31Speaker 2: You know, your teammate's gonna about to get his first
- 10:33Speaker 2: pick in his career, and you go over there and who,
- 10:37Speaker 2: by the.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Way, has been playing pretty exceptional for a rookie, Quinnon
- 10:41Speaker 1: Mitchell has been playing exceptional football at the cornerback position
- 10:45Speaker 1: for a rookie.
- 10:46Speaker 2: None of these flights are aimed in your direction. Quin Exactly,
- 10:49Speaker 2: you've been better than advertised. I thought you'd be good.
- 10:52Speaker 2: You're better than I thought you were going to. Absolutely,
- 10:54Speaker 2: you're well on your way. So we have that particular
- 10:57Speaker 2: play again, we're starting off the co of errors then,
- 11:00Speaker 2: and they shouldn't have scored, right because because they gave
- 11:03Speaker 2: them three points on that yea, that drive.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yep, absolutely absolutely. And then as much as we love
- 11:09Speaker 1: him and what he's done with this team this year.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley, he jumps out of bounds before getting a
- 11:14Speaker 1: first down after catching ball in the flats, and you're like,
- 11:17Speaker 1: You're like, what the what, what the hell are you doing?
- 11:19Speaker 1: And then Jalen Hurts takes a bad sack to put
- 11:22Speaker 1: the Eagles in a long field goal situation right before
- 11:25Speaker 1: the half, and then right after that the field goal
- 11:27Speaker 1: gets blocked and returned for a touchdown by one Rod
- 11:31Speaker 1: McLeod who was on the Super Bowl team. Like, it's
- 11:33Speaker 1: a comedy of errors that we see from this Eagles team.
- 11:37Speaker 1: And I guess my point here, Matt, is that it
- 11:40Speaker 1: all starts at the top in terms of the coaching.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You have these comedy of errors continuing to happen game
- 11:47Speaker 1: after game, time after time. When does it stop?
- 11:52Speaker 2: I mean, and on your on the point of the
- 11:55Speaker 2: block field goal, Like you don't always get six points
- 11:58Speaker 2: on a block field goal.
- 11:59Speaker 3: If you go back, guys and watch.
- 12:01Speaker 2: That play, there were like five guys in the backfield
- 12:05Speaker 2: next to the kicker. Yes, Like by the time Garrett's
- 12:07Speaker 2: back there, there's like three guys who could have recovered it.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And then they had a convoy to the end zone. Yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 2: thankfully Jordan Davis brought some damn hustle.
- 12:16Speaker 1: For one play and actually ran.
- 12:19Speaker 2: You got Jake Elliott, who I mean, It's incredible, like,
- 12:22Speaker 2: look at how many guys, truly in their own right,
- 12:26Speaker 2: even if Miles doesn't make an incredibly athletic play, has
- 12:30Speaker 2: a chance to actually block that kick.
- 12:32Speaker 3: That is horse manure.
- 12:34Speaker 1: It's horseshit, it is. It's horse shit. Like you said,
- 12:38Speaker 1: it's horshit. But I will say this. You know, we're
- 12:42Speaker 1: talking like this team lost, and again it's like it's
- 12:44Speaker 1: like a moral moral loss here basically because that they
- 12:47Speaker 1: play a serviceable NFL team. They did exactly exactly the
- 12:51Speaker 1: Eagles defense today though, I mean, they did their job.
- 12:54Speaker 1: They did the job that they were supposed to do.
- 12:56Speaker 1: The brown didn't convert a third down until the third quarter,
- 12:59Speaker 1: with about a minute left in that third quarter. Eagles
- 13:02Speaker 1: came into this game having only six sacs again on
- 13:05Speaker 1: the season. Today they had five. But the reality is
- 13:09Speaker 1: again this Browns team is a terrible team, a terrible
- 13:12Speaker 1: team offensively, a terrible quarterback, a terrible offensive line. They
- 13:16Speaker 1: were on their third center Matt mentioned earlier, their center
- 13:19Speaker 1: going down. That was their second center. They had to
- 13:21Speaker 1: have a third guy out there snapping the ball to
- 13:24Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson. The defense should have done their job today,
- 13:28Speaker 1: and they did do it. That being said, you know,
- 13:32Speaker 1: like it's like this team is going to face the
- 13:35Speaker 1: New York Giants next week and I don't know what
- 13:37Speaker 1: to expect from them. I don't know what to expect
- 13:40Speaker 1: from this team because they played one of the worst
- 13:42Speaker 1: teams in the NFL today and they just got by.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I mean to be honest, and I have a low
- 13:49Speaker 2: opinion of Daniel Jones. Daniel Jones is better than Deshaun
- 13:53Speaker 2: Watson ring.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah he is. Yeah. Yes, they both suck. They both suck.
- 14:00Speaker 1: They do they do. But man, I got to pick one.
- 14:03Speaker 2: If if the Browns had Daniel Jones today, they might
- 14:07Speaker 2: beat the Eagles.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, And that's why I'm so concerned about next
- 14:10Speaker 1: week already. But thank god we have AJ Brown back.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I mean, what a pass from Jalen hurts d Aj Brown
- 14:16Speaker 1: in the second quarter for that touchdown?
- 14:18Speaker 3: Think.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I mean the team missed Aj they really did. They
- 14:21Speaker 1: also missed Davante I mean, what a great what a
- 14:24Speaker 1: great like cross crossing route that he runs and nobody
- 14:28Speaker 1: is around him.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Yes, I did want a mesh concept again.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Love it absolutely. Oh let's not forget Lane Johnson too,
- 14:35Speaker 1: who allowed zero pressures in this game. Fantastic to have
- 14:39Speaker 1: all of these guys back. But I do want to
- 14:42Speaker 1: talk Hurts. We always talk Jalen Hurts, as we showed
- 14:44Speaker 1: these the quarterback of this team. The one thing that
- 14:47Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you about to see if you're
- 14:50Speaker 1: seeing as well, is that when Jalen is rushing the ball. Now,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I I I appreciate the fact that he rushed the
- 14:58Speaker 1: ball for fourteen times in this game, only thirty three yards. Yeah,
- 15:03Speaker 1: fourteen times, two point four yards per attempt. But the
- 15:09Speaker 1: thing is, and maybe it's because of the slew of
- 15:11Speaker 1: injuries that he's had over the past couple of seasons, Matt,
- 15:14Speaker 1: but he's not cutting the way that he used to.
- 15:18Speaker 1: He's not cutting on a dime like he used to
- 15:21Speaker 1: miss defenders. We're not seeing that type of play from
- 15:25Speaker 1: him from a rushing standpoint, And I wonder if it's
- 15:28Speaker 1: because we don't have really the answers here, But I
- 15:30Speaker 1: do wonder if it's the coaches saying we don't want
- 15:33Speaker 1: you rushing how you rushed in twenty twenty two. We
- 15:35Speaker 1: don't want that.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Absolutely, you know, even though we're gonna even though we're
- 15:38Speaker 2: gonna have you running the ball fourteen times, yeah, which
- 15:42Speaker 2: was the high water mark that season.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But whatever exactly or if it's him, I wonder if
- 15:47Speaker 1: it's him saying I just can't do it or won't
- 15:50Speaker 1: do it because of previous injuries and not wanting to
- 15:54Speaker 1: be out for a significant period of time. It just
- 15:57Speaker 1: I think we need to come to the conclusion that
- 16:00Speaker 1: that twenty twenty Jalen hurts from a rushing standpoint. From
- 16:03Speaker 1: a rushing standpoint, folks, yes, we're we're just not going
- 16:07Speaker 1: to see him again because some of these concepts and
- 16:09Speaker 1: you haven't shot me off a text with regard to
- 16:12Speaker 1: the RPO, like the first read type thing like, holy cow,
- 16:17Speaker 1: he's missing guys underneath. Then two, you know, he's rushing
- 16:20Speaker 1: the ball and just taking him maybe a couple of
- 16:22Speaker 1: yards here or there. It's not working, And I don't
- 16:24Speaker 1: understand how this offensive coaching staff can continue to implement
- 16:28Speaker 1: this stuff within the game plan.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I think, you know, and I think he's making the
- 16:34Speaker 2: right decision. While it's it's frustrating, I think he's making
- 16:38Speaker 2: the right decision because this isn't even twenty twenty two,
- 16:41Speaker 2: where the Eagles had Gardner Minshew as the backup quarterbacks
- 16:44Speaker 2: and last couple of years we had Marcus Mariota.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Who is horrible, horrible, horrible player.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and this year you got Kenny Pickett who had
- 16:53Speaker 2: a pretty rough preseason and people were talking about Tanner McKee,
- 16:57Speaker 2: who you know, taking his.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Job, and Kenny Pickett's last year anyway, he was terrible.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Let's trade for him. You know, what the.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Heck if Jalen, if Jalen goes down, then this team's cooked.
- 17:09Speaker 2: And I think that that's what's going through his brain.
- 17:12Speaker 2: He's like, if I am too selfish about this and
- 17:18Speaker 2: I try to rip this off for thirty instead of
- 17:20Speaker 2: taking the twelve, you know, the Eagles season may be over.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Yea.
- 17:24Speaker 3: And so I think that that's part of his calculation.
- 17:28Speaker 1: All right, Well, buddy, do you have a you know,
- 17:30Speaker 1: before we go to our break and then get to
- 17:32Speaker 1: our grades, we're gonna grade by unit as we do
- 17:35Speaker 1: and grade the coaching as well. Do you have any
- 17:37Speaker 1: more themes that you want to get into, you know,
- 17:39Speaker 1: other than the fact that you know it's great that
- 17:41Speaker 1: this team won but even though a wins a win,
- 17:44Speaker 1: it's still there was a lot of deflating stuff in
- 17:47Speaker 1: this game. Do you have anything else you want to
- 17:48Speaker 1: dive into? Yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 2: And so for the listeners who are like, hey, Matt
- 17:53Speaker 2: especially and Jeff are being hard on the team, we
- 17:56Speaker 2: just got the w Do you guys like the Eagles
- 17:58Speaker 2: or not? Answer is one yes. Number two is something
- 18:02Speaker 2: that I've uh saying. Shannon Sharp is full of says.
- 18:05Speaker 2: One of my favorite sayings from Shannon Sharp is don't
- 18:08Speaker 2: accept anything in a win that you wouldn't in a loss.
- 18:11Speaker 2: So so the way I evaluate, yes, so evaluating this game,
- 18:16Speaker 2: I'm evaluating each unit, each player as if you know,
- 18:20Speaker 2: don't have the wind colored glasses on where you're like, oh,
- 18:25Speaker 2: he didn't play great, but we won. And so you know,
- 18:29Speaker 2: you slant things in a direction because the team ended
- 18:32Speaker 2: up with a win, because you can't exactly be if
- 18:35Speaker 2: you're not taking care of your assignment.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Then you know the fact that the.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Team overall was able to win or the Browns were
- 18:43Speaker 2: successfully able to lose this game, yeah, you know that
- 18:49Speaker 2: shouldn't slay us in the direction of like, oh, yeah,
- 18:52Speaker 2: I would give this because we're going to get into
- 18:54Speaker 2: the units and the grades, and if I was going
- 18:56Speaker 2: to give them a B, I shouldn't give them a
- 18:58Speaker 2: B plus or an A because because they want that's all.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I want to review the grades with the don't accept
- 19:06Speaker 2: anything in a win that you wouldn't in a loss,
- 19:08Speaker 2: and that's a LFE value as well.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I love it. I love it. Folks. We're gonna take
- 19:12Speaker 1: a break now and we're gonna do some regrouping here
- 19:15Speaker 1: before we dish out the grades. Stick with us. We'll
- 19:17Speaker 1: be right back. All right. We are back, and I'm
- 19:21Speaker 1: here with Matt Rogers from the Honorable Mention podcast at
- 19:25Speaker 1: Politidope over on threads. The Honorable Mention over on threads
- 19:30Speaker 1: as well. Give him a follow, fantastic follow if you're
- 19:34Speaker 1: into the world of Philly sports. Yeh, a little political
- 19:37Speaker 1: stuff here and there. He and I we have very
- 19:40Speaker 1: similar social media contests. Yes we do. Really, it's great, yes, yes,
- 19:46Speaker 1: all right, Well let's get into these grades here. Jalen
- 19:50Speaker 1: Hurts quarterback position. I am giving Jalen Hurts and it's
- 19:53Speaker 1: really based on what you said before we went to
- 19:55Speaker 1: the break, Matt, like I love the fact sixteen to
- 19:59Speaker 1: twenty five. I have two hundred and sixty four yards.
- 20:01Speaker 1: He averaged ten point six yards per attempt, two touchdowns,
- 20:05Speaker 1: no interceptions. He ended with a rating of one hundred
- 20:07Speaker 1: and twenty six point one. I love his stat line here,
- 20:11Speaker 1: but I'm gonna give him a B plus this week
- 20:14Speaker 1: because right with you, are you okay? There were missed opportunities,
- 20:16Speaker 1: tons of missed opportunities, especially in the first quarter, and
- 20:21Speaker 1: you know, he's got the thing I do like about
- 20:23Speaker 1: Jalen Hurson. There's a lot of people, as we know,
- 20:25Speaker 1: that give him a lot of flak for a lot
- 20:26Speaker 1: of things. Some things are deserving, something's not so deserving.
- 20:29Speaker 1: But the fact of the matter is he did not
- 20:33Speaker 1: see a lot of receivers that were open, wide open
- 20:36Speaker 1: in this first quarter. But he rebounded with this team
- 20:39Speaker 1: and at the end of the day, he did get
- 20:41Speaker 1: it done. Nice stats, but he still has to improve
- 20:44Speaker 1: and he'd probably say the same thing himself.
- 20:46Speaker 2: So B plus for me, I yeah, yeah, I totally agree.
- 20:50Speaker 2: They're not much to add on that. Only thing I
- 20:52Speaker 2: would say is that, uh, is that I do appreciate
- 20:55Speaker 2: that he did make the adjustment later in the game.
- 20:58Speaker 1: It wasn't like early in the game.
- 21:00Speaker 3: He was hitting people, and then he was missing people.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Late late in the game, he got hot, started hitting
- 21:04Speaker 2: people across the middle, exactly what I was looking for.
- 21:07Speaker 2: They were trying to come out early in the game
- 21:09Speaker 2: and hit the kill shot.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Hit the kill shot early.
- 21:12Speaker 2: And so Jalen's like kind of, you know, shaking off
- 21:15Speaker 2: the catcher with these wide open routes underneath, and you
- 21:19Speaker 2: know you can't do that. You got to heat up.
- 21:21Speaker 2: And so end on a B plus. Best game of
- 21:24Speaker 2: the season so far from Jalen Hurts.
- 21:25Speaker 3: If I had to.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Say, yeah, I think so too. No turnovers. No turnovers, folks,
- 21:30Speaker 1: That's what we wanted, right That's what we talked about
- 21:32Speaker 1: in the Opposition Territory pod.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And also, and this may bleed into something later, is
- 21:37Speaker 2: that I will just say that the rankings walking into
- 21:41Speaker 2: this game had the Browns as a bad defense part
- 21:45Speaker 2: those there's a ton of stars, there's a ton of
- 21:48Speaker 2: players I would take pluck right off the Browns. Ye,
- 21:51Speaker 2: starting with Miles Garrett. Let's let's let's take him off
- 21:53Speaker 2: the table right away. But there's a bunch of guys
- 21:56Speaker 2: j Okay, Jeremiah Owusu Caromoa. Yep, you got Denzel Ward.
- 22:01Speaker 2: You got newsome. Those are those are good players. They've
- 22:04Speaker 2: been on the field for so long because their offense
- 22:06Speaker 2: sucks and so.
- 22:07Speaker 3: They've been people been piling up yardage on them. But
- 22:10Speaker 3: they've got good.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Players, so they do you know.
- 22:13Speaker 2: You know, it's not like Jalen had a good game
- 22:16Speaker 2: against a bad defense. The Browns are a bad team
- 22:19Speaker 2: because their offense is future.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Absolutely, I hope how he is on the phone right
- 22:23Speaker 1: now after the games with the Browns gyms. All right,
- 22:26Speaker 1: we already got the game done. The game is done,
- 22:29Speaker 1: it's finalized. Let's talk. Let's talk and negotiate here. That's
- 22:32Speaker 1: my hope, dear lord. All right. Running back position, Saquon
- 22:37Speaker 1: Barkley ran the ball eighteen times for forty seven yards.
- 22:39Speaker 1: He only averaged two point six yards per carry. His
- 22:43Speaker 1: long was ten and then, as we mentioned earlier, fourteen
- 22:46Speaker 1: carries from Jalen Hurts for thirty three yards. Kenny Gainwell
- 22:49Speaker 1: had three carries for twenty three yards, but as long
- 22:52Speaker 1: was night that one nineteen yarder, and John Dotson carried
- 22:55Speaker 1: the ball once for thirteen yards. Team averaged three point
- 23:00Speaker 1: two yards per rushing attempt one hundred and sixteen total
- 23:03Speaker 1: rushing yards in this game. But when it comes to
- 23:05Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley, Kenneth Gainwell the running back position here, I'm
- 23:10Speaker 1: gonna I'm gonna give them a C this week. I mean,
- 23:12Speaker 1: we didn't see a lot of explode. We did see
- 23:14Speaker 1: that again, the nineteen yard are all fine and well
- 23:17Speaker 1: it's Kenny Gainwell. We didn't see the explosiveness. And in fact,
- 23:21Speaker 1: when Saquon Barkley ended up hitting Jordan Malata in his
- 23:25Speaker 1: back somehow for some reason. I mean, it's it may
- 23:28Speaker 1: be easy for us to say watching it on TV,
- 23:31Speaker 1: but man, Saquon Barkley had so much room to run.
- 23:34Speaker 1: That would have been one of those explosive plays for
- 23:36Speaker 1: sixty some yards early in the game. And it didn't happen,
- 23:40Speaker 1: of course, But I'm gonna give the running backs of
- 23:42Speaker 1: C this week.
- 23:43Speaker 2: What do you give them, buddy, I'm gonna go with
- 23:45Speaker 2: a C minus And maybe I'm taking all the way
- 23:48Speaker 2: down to the minus because of that bad play before
- 23:51Speaker 2: the half where Saquon runs out of bounds. Yeah, and
- 23:55Speaker 2: kind of you know, starts the comedy, you know, continues
- 23:58Speaker 2: the comedy.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Of errors there.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I think those are That's one of those plays where
- 24:04Speaker 2: in a loss that's the kind of play that gets
- 24:06Speaker 2: talked about all week. Absolutely, so yep, you know you
- 24:09Speaker 2: can't accept what you know. I'll say it for the
- 24:11Speaker 2: third time. You can't accept what you accept in a
- 24:14Speaker 2: win something that you wouldn't in a loss.
- 24:16Speaker 1: There you go. I love that phrase. Love it all right.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Let's get to the receivers here. Aj Brown targeted nine times,
- 24:22Speaker 1: came down with six balls for one hundred and sixteen
- 24:24Speaker 1: yards nineteen point three yards per reception, one touchdown. Davante
- 24:28Speaker 1: Smith caught the ball four times. I'm sorry, he was
- 24:31Speaker 1: targeted four times, caught the ball three times for sixty
- 24:33Speaker 1: four yards one touchdown. Grant Calcatara getting four catches in
- 24:38Speaker 1: this game for sixty seven yards. Johan Dotson was targeted
- 24:42Speaker 1: three times. He only came down with one ball for
- 24:45Speaker 1: ten yards. You also had Saquon Barkley, Dallas Goddard, as
- 24:48Speaker 1: we mentioned him going out, can he gain well also
- 24:50Speaker 1: getting a target. I'm gonna give the receivers this week
- 24:53Speaker 1: a B plus actually, because you know they're expected to
- 24:57Speaker 1: do what they're expected to do, and I think they
- 25:00Speaker 1: did for the most part in this game. I mean,
- 25:02Speaker 1: there were a couple instances where I think the receivers
- 25:06Speaker 1: either could have ran a better route. And I'm not
- 25:09Speaker 1: necessarily talking about AJ Brown or Davante Smith, but that
- 25:13Speaker 1: plus also goes up because Grant Calcata, I mean, putting
- 25:15Speaker 1: up sixty seven yards, he was a contributory averaged sixteen
- 25:19Speaker 1: point eight yards per reception. Not too bad for a
- 25:22Speaker 1: guy who's been a third string tight end for quite
- 25:25Speaker 1: some time. I'm gonna give the receivers and tight ends
- 25:28Speaker 1: B plus. What do you give them?
- 25:30Speaker 2: Absolutely, I give him a B plus. You know, they
- 25:36Speaker 2: didn't really make a ton of mistakes. I think they
- 25:39Speaker 2: ran some routes that were less than crisp, like you said,
- 25:44Speaker 2: But really, some of those plays, some of these catches
- 25:47Speaker 2: that they were able to make, are just fantastic. If
- 25:50Speaker 2: Davante comes down with that earlier one, we're talking ay
- 25:54Speaker 2: a range.
- 25:55Speaker 3: But B plus is very fair. I mean, I agree
- 25:57Speaker 3: with that.
- 25:57Speaker 1: All right. The offensive line, boy, I gotta tell you,
- 26:00Speaker 1: it was just great having Lane Johnson back. When Lane
- 26:03Speaker 1: is on the field, this team usually does win games.
- 26:07Speaker 1: They held the Browns defense to one sack, only two
- 26:11Speaker 1: quarterback hits, and five tackles for a loss. Unfortunately, However, Man,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I think the offensive line did a pretty damn good
- 26:19Speaker 1: job today. I'm actually gonna give them a B plus.
- 26:22Speaker 1: What do you give them?
- 26:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm with you, and see we would be talking
- 26:27Speaker 2: a higher grade if Saquon doesn't run into Lane because.
- 26:30Speaker 1: That's seventy year Yeah, yeah, yeah, if.
- 26:36Speaker 2: He doesn't run into my lot of there, that's a
- 26:38Speaker 2: that's a seventy yard touchdown.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I give it a B.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I didn't really see a lot of just complete whiffs,
- 26:46Speaker 2: which I was seeing a lot in the Buccaneers game.
- 26:50Speaker 3: But you know, there was nothing to really write home about.
- 26:54Speaker 2: But it was solid play, solid good play, especially Lane Johnson.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I mean, you never even have to think about Lane Johnson.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I would say that at times. I am very much
- 27:05Speaker 2: worried about Jordan Mylotta. I think he's a good player.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I think he might be better suited it might be
- 27:11Speaker 2: more of a superstar superstar if you put him at
- 27:15Speaker 2: left guard, at a left tackle. I think his first
- 27:17Speaker 2: STEP's a bit slow. So when you get these super
- 27:20Speaker 2: fast defensive ends like Brian Burns, like Miles Garrett, you
- 27:25Speaker 2: get the TJ. Watts, that first step he's getting blown
- 27:28Speaker 2: by before he even gets up out of his stance.
- 27:30Speaker 2: And so that's just.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Something to watch out for people.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Interesting time you watch number sixty eight play watch that
- 27:36Speaker 2: first step.
- 27:37Speaker 3: He's a big guy. He's six' eight three twenty something
- 27:39Speaker 3: like that. Huge.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I saw him in person in Brazil. Humongous individual. Yeah,
- 27:44Speaker 2: but it's it's a lot to get that up, and
- 27:46Speaker 2: so just something to watch out for there.
- 27:49Speaker 1: All right, sounds good.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Part of what maybe why Jalen is a little bit
- 27:54Speaker 2: jumpy in the pocket at times too.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, something to keep in mind, folks. As we're
- 27:58Speaker 1: moving forward here, Well, let's move over to the defensive
- 28:00Speaker 1: side of the ball. Defensive line. We see the sacks,
- 28:04Speaker 1: you know, maybe maybe trying to work together here, but again,
- 28:07Speaker 1: a terrible Browns offensive line. I'm gonna I am going
- 28:11Speaker 1: to give the defensive line, even though they did have
- 28:14Speaker 1: five sacks, even though they did have ten quarterback hits,
- 28:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna give them a bee this week. I look
- 28:19Speaker 1: at these stats, Matt, and it's like, boy, there is
- 28:22Speaker 1: like it. This is like a this is like a
- 28:24Speaker 1: territory for sure. But I'm gonna give him a bee
- 28:27Speaker 1: this week because you know, Bryce Huff is on the
- 28:29Speaker 1: ground way too much and we're just not seeing a
- 28:32Speaker 1: ton of pressure from this line, and we've been so
- 28:36Speaker 1: concerned about it and we're not seeing any changes. So
- 28:38Speaker 1: I'm giving them a B. What do you give them?
- 28:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna be nice. This will probably be the highest
- 28:43Speaker 2: grade I give them unless they make a move.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I am. I am very low on this defensive line.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I think vic Fanjo's at the point where he knows
- 28:51Speaker 2: and I know that if he doesn't come with that
- 28:54Speaker 2: fifth man.
- 28:55Speaker 3: We're not rushing anybody.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Yep.
- 28:57Speaker 2: It's a damn shame. They should be ashamed of themself.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Josh sweat all that money, h Bryce Huffall. And I'm
- 29:03Speaker 2: the last guy to talk about people's money.
- 29:05Speaker 3: I mean, I know me and I hate that.
- 29:08Speaker 2: But but but seriously, you guys, are you know you've
- 29:12Speaker 2: you've you've had your financial futures locked up, and you're
- 29:17Speaker 2: giving us nothing.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I mean, if I could separate this out and say
- 29:20Speaker 2: defensive ends, I would give them a D minus. And
- 29:24Speaker 2: if I could get the tackles a grade, I'd give
- 29:26Speaker 2: them a B plus.
- 29:29Speaker 1: You're gonna be nice and give y'all a B. Okay,
- 29:32Speaker 1: but pick this ship up, yes, exactly, exactly. Pick the
- 29:36Speaker 1: ship up, folks, geez, oh, gosh, pick the ship up
- 29:41Speaker 1: like the linebackers have. Let's move the linebacker seriously. Nikobe
- 29:45Speaker 1: Deed is a new person this season. Basically, yes he is,
- 29:49Speaker 1: and he's he's playing well. Look he had he had
- 29:51Speaker 1: a whiff in the fourth quarter which led to a
- 29:53Speaker 1: first down, but still, overall his pursuit of the ball
- 29:56Speaker 1: has been pretty phenomenal. Quite frankly, he and zact On
- 30:00Speaker 1: doing a very very good job. I'm gonna give the
- 30:02Speaker 1: linebackers a B plus this week. What do you give them? Yeah?
- 30:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I really like it.
- 30:07Speaker 2: And and if my linebackers, if I'm building a team,
- 30:11Speaker 2: I want guys to mess up the way and to
- 30:13Speaker 2: Kobe Dean and Zach Bond do too much aggression, too
- 30:16Speaker 2: much effort. You know, you go in there, you blow
- 30:19Speaker 2: up the running back. You're like, damn it, the quarterback
- 30:21Speaker 2: got to throw off. I'm gonna hit the damn quarterback
- 30:23Speaker 2: late too. Obviously, we don't want to hurt anybody, but
- 30:27Speaker 2: these are the kind of these are the kind of
- 30:28Speaker 2: mistakes you want from your linebackers. I'm satisfied with the linebackers.
- 30:32Speaker 2: I just think the defensive line is letting everybody down. Yeah, absolutely,
- 30:35Speaker 2: they'll be playing better if they could maybe be playing
- 30:39Speaker 2: feeding off of the hands and rushing off. So yes,
- 30:43Speaker 2: I'll give I'll give the linebackers a B plus.
- 30:45Speaker 1: All right, B plus. It's a It's a genuine B
- 30:48Speaker 1: plus from both Matt and myself. And uh, I'm I'm
- 30:51Speaker 1: gonna give the secondary this week a straight up B.
- 30:55Speaker 1: And I say that even given the fact that CJ.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Gardner Johnson took away Quinyon Mitchell's first interception that was
- 31:02Speaker 1: so enraging, and boy Quinyon two, you know, bless his soul,
- 31:06Speaker 1: he's out there upset mad. He knew it as well.
- 31:09Speaker 1: He was upset by the fact that he got robbed too.
- 31:12Speaker 1: But I think overall, even with Darius Slay going out,
- 31:15Speaker 1: I think overall, the secondary played pretty well. And I
- 31:20Speaker 1: really do like how Cooper dejen has been absolutely been
- 31:25Speaker 1: getting around the ball. You know, his pursuit as well.
- 31:28Speaker 1: He had six total tackles in this game, half a sack,
- 31:31Speaker 1: one quarterback hit. I like what he's doing. He's getting
- 31:35Speaker 1: around the ball and he has been a defensive contributor
- 31:38Speaker 1: when this defense at times from week to week, as
- 31:41Speaker 1: we know, haven't seen as much contribution from folks that
- 31:45Speaker 1: we thought. So I'm gonna give him a B plus,
- 31:47Speaker 1: what do you give him?
- 31:48Speaker 2: I was very glad to see Cooper Dejene get as
- 31:52Speaker 2: much playing time today. I don't think I saw number
- 31:54Speaker 2: twenty nine of Vonte Maddox at all. He didn't play today. Yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 2: he didn't play so a lot. That's the future. I mean,
- 32:01Speaker 2: he was getting picked on. To be honest, if I
- 32:04Speaker 2: was the coach, that's exactly what would have happened today.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I don't even know if I would have addressed him.
- 32:08Speaker 2: I don't even know if he would have made the flight. Yeah,
- 32:10Speaker 2: and I personally like Avante. I think he's an awesome guy,
- 32:13Speaker 2: an awesome team guy. But he was just getting smoked
- 32:16Speaker 2: out there last week and in previous times, I mean,
- 32:19Speaker 2: all the way back to the playoffs. If I let's
- 32:22Speaker 2: get back to the rest of the DBS. I really
- 32:25Speaker 2: liked what I saw from Quenyon Mitchell today. I liked
- 32:28Speaker 2: what I saw from Rogers no relation, he has a
- 32:32Speaker 2: D in his name. I really did like what I
- 32:36Speaker 2: saw from them. Also, I have to grade this on
- 32:40Speaker 2: a curve though, and then I do have to remember
- 32:43Speaker 2: that completely blown coverage after the Eagles go up twenty
- 32:48Speaker 2: to thirteen first down. I think it was the eighth
- 32:54Speaker 2: drive of the game. First first and ten Jerry Judy
- 32:58Speaker 2: for thirty five yards. Yes, completely blown coverage across the field.
- 33:03Speaker 2: These are the kind of things that, again, if I
- 33:06Speaker 2: take the wind colored glasses off, as I've referred to,
- 33:11Speaker 2: if this isn't the Cleveland Browns on the other side
- 33:13Speaker 2: of the team, that you get beaten with plays like that,
- 33:16Speaker 2: and so I.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Gotta go a little lower. I gotta go with a C.
- 33:21Speaker 2: I really don't like, you know, I hate to say
- 33:24Speaker 2: anybody did anything on purpose. I do think that CJ
- 33:29Speaker 2: tried to moss his teammate for the pick there that
- 33:34Speaker 2: that that ended up with the Browns getting three points.
- 33:37Speaker 1: So really uncomfortable with that. I gotta give him a
- 33:41Speaker 1: deep a B play.
- 33:42Speaker 2: If they played this game against Joe Burrow, I'd give
- 33:45Speaker 2: it a B plus.
- 33:46Speaker 3: You know, I would say a minus be plus.
- 33:48Speaker 2: This is Deshaun freaking Watson, the worst starting quarterback in football.
- 33:52Speaker 1: And this receiving core that's not all that great.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Jerry Judy and Amari Cooper, who also dropped past his
- 33:58Speaker 2: ten exactly first out on the first drive of the game. Yes,
- 34:01Speaker 2: they got bailed out on the first drive of the
- 34:03Speaker 2: game with Amari Cooper dropping a path.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Yep, yep, absolutely all right, sorry, list no, no, no,
- 34:09Speaker 1: it's it's fine, I said, I think I said B initially,
- 34:11Speaker 1: then B plus. I'm going with a B, folks, I'm
- 34:14Speaker 1: going with a B for the secondary. Let's get into
- 34:16Speaker 1: coaching and just well start with special teams. F just
- 34:19Speaker 1: be I don't care. I don't care that Jake Elliott
- 34:23Speaker 1: made two field goals. I don't care that the punt
- 34:26Speaker 1: average was forty eight point seven yards for the three
- 34:29Speaker 1: punts that Braden Man punted. I don't care. I just
- 34:32Speaker 1: don't care that punt. I'm sorry that field goal block
- 34:37Speaker 1: for a touchdown was so completely egregious right before the half.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Let the Browns back in the game. Gave him a
- 34:42Speaker 1: little bit of confidence. F for special teams, seriously, screw them.
- 34:46Speaker 1: They get an F. What do you give them?
- 34:48Speaker 3: I got nothing else to say.
- 34:50Speaker 1: You said, Okay, sounds good defense, Vic Fangio. They again,
- 34:54Speaker 1: they did what they should have done against the Cleveland Browns.
- 34:58Speaker 1: They played an overall pretty good game. But as we've
- 35:02Speaker 1: been saying, they should have, they should have. So I'm
- 35:04Speaker 1: gonna give Fangio a B B B plus for his
- 35:10Speaker 1: coaching this week? What do you give him, Matt, Yeah,
- 35:15Speaker 1: I do really like the move.
- 35:16Speaker 2: And then again, you know Avontepe, this ever gets to you,
- 35:20Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sorry to have to say this. I
- 35:22Speaker 2: really like the move of getting him out of there,
- 35:25Speaker 2: and soon the next person to get out of there
- 35:27Speaker 2: is going to be mister blank and Ship. Now, he's
- 35:29Speaker 2: got a couple of nice interceptions this year, but he's
- 35:32Speaker 2: been getting picked on in coverage too.
- 35:33Speaker 3: So I gotta give Fangio. I'll give him a BE today. Okay,
- 35:38Speaker 3: just again, if you.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Do this to Burrow, you win twenty to sixteen. And
- 35:42Speaker 2: you know, in Cincinnati it's a different conversation. I just
- 35:45Speaker 2: can't get out of my head that I think this
- 35:47Speaker 2: team sucks. Well, we got the Browns are a bad team.
- 35:50Speaker 1: They are they are. We got about two minutes here
- 35:52Speaker 1: until we get cut off, which I hate because because
- 35:56Speaker 1: we talked too much before we hit the record button.
- 35:58Speaker 1: That's that's what happens, Nick Sirianni Kellen Moore. I am
- 36:02Speaker 1: going to be giving them a C minus this week
- 36:05Speaker 1: for their play calling, and that could even be generous,
- 36:07Speaker 1: could be a D. D plus. Actually, but I'm gonna
- 36:10Speaker 1: give him a C minus. It was a win, and
- 36:13Speaker 1: I think a lot of these players once again bailed
- 36:15Speaker 1: out the coaching staff here. So uh, I'm giving them
- 36:18Speaker 1: a giving them a C C minus. What do you
- 36:21Speaker 1: give him here, Matt?
- 36:22Speaker 3: I give Kellen.
- 36:23Speaker 2: I give Kellen a B minus.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Okay, I give Syria. I give Sirianni a B.
- 36:30Speaker 2: I think he's he's coat in a and I want
- 36:32Speaker 2: to be hot takey because I'm not a I've not
- 36:34Speaker 2: called for Sirianni's job ever, yep, not once.
- 36:37Speaker 3: But he is coaching for his job over the next
- 36:40Speaker 3: seven games.
- 36:41Speaker 2: You got at Giants, at Bengals versus the Jags, at
- 36:44Speaker 2: Cowboys versus Commanders versus Rams. If he doesn't win the
- 36:49Speaker 2: majority of those games, uh, if not, just go split
- 36:52Speaker 2: go three and three.
- 36:54Speaker 3: He could be out of here. Yeah, this is an underachievement.
- 36:57Speaker 2: This team is paying a lot of people has Super
- 36:59Speaker 2: Bowl aspirations.
- 37:01Speaker 3: We cannot be around a five hundred football team.
- 37:04Speaker 1: That is a perfect, perfect way to end Week six
- 37:08Speaker 1: here in terms of our analysis, really a perfect way
- 37:13Speaker 1: to end it. The one and only Matt Rodgers from
- 37:15Speaker 1: the honorable mentioned podcast check out everything he's doing, especially
- 37:18Speaker 1: over on threads at Politidope. He is a fantastic following
- 37:22Speaker 1: again the Honorable Mention podcast. My buddy, it was great
- 37:25Speaker 1: seeing you, love having you on, and let's do this again.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Let's do it again, maybe in a few weeks or so.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Okay, back to Eagles Doves, Yes.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Ere ugly exactly exactly, all right, folks, that's going to
- 37:36Speaker 1: do it for us. Eagles beating the Cleveland Browns by
- 37:40Speaker 1: a score of twenty to sixteen. We will catch you
- 37:42Speaker 1: next time.
