- 0:14ahead across the city. I'm Carol. It's Wednesday,
- 0:18July 8th, 2026. Welcome to season two of the
- 0:21Sacramento Brief. Let's get you caught up. A
- 0:24man wanted in connection with a nearly nine -year
- 0:27-old Sacramento County murder case is now back
- 0:29in California to face prosecution. The FBI's
- 0:33Sacramento field office says Jose Guadalupe Lopez
- 0:36Nunez was extradited from Mexico and returned
- 0:39to Sacramento on July 2nd. The case dates back
- 0:43to September of 2017, when an angler discovered
- 0:47the body of Emelina Quintero Ramos in the Sacramento
- 0:51River near Isleton. Investigators with the Sacramento
- 0:54County Sheriff's Office later identified Lopez
- 0:57Nunez, who was Quintero Ramo's boyfriend, as
- 1:03the suspect. Authorities allege he killed her
- 1:06and disposed her body in the river. A warrant
- 1:09was issued in October of 2017, and the FBI launched
- 1:13an international effort to locate him. Following
- 1:16a tip from the public, Lopez Nunez was arrested
- 1:21in Zacatecas, Mexico, in August of 2025. FBI
- 1:28agents returned him to Sacramento last week,
- 1:31and he has made his first appearance in Sacramento
- 1:33Superior Court on July 7th. The FBI accredited
- 1:37partnership with local, federal, and international
- 1:40agencies for bringing him back to face prosecution.
- 1:44As always, charges are allegations and the defendants
- 1:48are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in
- 1:50court. Also in federal news, a 19 -year -old
- 1:54Elk Grove man has been arrested after authorities
- 1:57say he made threats involving fireworks and federal
- 2:00buildings. Federal prosecutors say Trevin McDaniel,
- 2:05known online as the Wild Wolf Spider, came to
- 2:11the attention of investigators during a separate
- 2:13investigation into threats of targeting federal
- 2:16properties and officials. According to court
- 2:18documents, investigators reviewed online messages
- 2:22and later identified McDaniel as the person behind
- 2:26the account. Authorities say McDaniel posted
- 2:29videos discussing the use of fireworks against
- 2:32generators connected to federal buildings in
- 2:35Sacramento. During a search of his residence,
- 2:38investigators seized items including a costume
- 2:41matching videos posted online, a cell phone,
- 2:44and two mini batons. McDaniels has been ordered
- 2:47to be detained. If convicted, he faces up to
- 2:5110 years in prison. The charges remain allegations,
