- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person, Michelle. I'm back again. I guess
- 0:05Speaker 1: to do this again. So hopefully you didn't hate Angelize
- 0:09Speaker 1: that much that you didn't come back, but who knows,
- 0:12Speaker 1: I don't know. Anyway, before we go into this, I
- 0:16Speaker 1: realized that there were a couple of things I didn't
- 0:18Speaker 1: say last week that I needed to say. The most
- 0:21Speaker 1: important one is that one of the reasons, probably actually
- 0:25Speaker 1: the main reason I wanted to share Angelize with you,
- 0:27Speaker 1: was because of the connectioned episode nine, where remember Shorter
- 0:32Speaker 1: looked up and he saw that like stone angel and
- 0:34Speaker 1: he kind of like snapped out of the effect that
- 0:37Speaker 1: Banana Fish was having on him. I think even like
- 0:39Speaker 1: in the moment, I said something about it, about how
- 0:42Speaker 1: it related to the manga and how it was like
- 0:45Speaker 1: a really cool callback and not something that actually occurred
- 0:50Speaker 1: in that section of the manga. It was like something
- 0:52Speaker 1: that was thrown into the anime. It's like a really
- 0:54Speaker 1: nice reference to Angelize. So that's where it's from. It's
- 0:57Speaker 1: interesting though, because it's like, oh, that's that's the thing
- 1:01Speaker 1: that reminds you of Ash, the angel that you used
- 1:04Speaker 1: to jack off to. Anyway, I hied myself so much.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I think that was probably the only thing. There must
- 1:12Speaker 1: have been something else, but who cares, right, I don't
- 1:15Speaker 1: know what it was, And yeah, let's just do Garden
- 1:19Speaker 1: of Light. I was reading through this earlier today to
- 1:22Speaker 1: make sure I was ready, and like I cried a lot,
- 1:25Speaker 1: So no promises that I'm not just gonna break down
- 1:28Speaker 1: in the middle of this, So let's just find out
- 1:30Speaker 1: what happens. As I said last week, Garden of Light
- 1:34Speaker 1: is directly after Angelize in the manga, so that would
- 1:38Speaker 1: make it in volume nineteen. It's the end of volume nineteen.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It's really the end of all of the manga that
- 1:44Speaker 1: we have in the US of Banana Fish. Anyway, we
- 1:49Speaker 1: start with a like the title page, I guess, so
- 1:53Speaker 1: it says Garden of Light, obviously, and there's a picture
- 1:56Speaker 1: of two people standing on a porch like a front point.
- 2:01Speaker 1: One of them is like a small like maybe child
- 2:05Speaker 1: or teenager, with short hair, and there's also a really
- 2:08Speaker 1: tall dude next to them whose face is kind of
- 2:11Speaker 1: in shadow. They both have black hair, but looking at them,
- 2:16Speaker 1: I wouldn't know who they are. They don't look like
- 2:18Speaker 1: any of the Banana Fish characters that I'm familiar with.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And also in between them is a dog sitting there
- 2:24Speaker 1: with its tongue out or mouth open or something. They're
- 2:27Speaker 1: clearly looking at something, potentially the person who took this picture.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And also I should just specify this porch does not
- 2:34Speaker 1: look like it's in New York City. This looks like
- 2:37Speaker 1: it's at I don't know. The house just looks like
- 2:41Speaker 1: it's somewhere more suburban or rural. You know, it doesn't
- 2:45Speaker 1: have a city look to it. I don't know how
- 2:47Speaker 1: to explain it. Let's move on. So the first page,
- 2:51Speaker 1: there is a picture of a gallery. There's people in
- 2:55Speaker 1: the gallery looking at artwork, and there's a sign outside
- 2:59Speaker 1: of the gall and it says photographs by Shunichi eBay athletes.
- 3:04Speaker 1: We have some narration here, but we don't know who
- 3:06Speaker 1: it's from, and it says the first time I ever
- 3:08Speaker 1: met O Kamoda San was at uncle Shunichi's very first exhibition.
- 3:13Speaker 1: We see Shunichi, who, by the way, in the manga
- 3:17Speaker 1: does on of a beard. He just has a mustache.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I prefer this look. And also he's black hair. He
- 3:22Speaker 1: looks like he might be waving to someone, but we
- 3:25Speaker 1: have a close shot so we can't see who it is.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And the narration continues. Uncle Shunichi is my dad's little brother.
- 3:33Speaker 1: He chose to become a photographer even though my grandpa
- 3:35Speaker 1: and dad were against it. We see kind of Shunichi's
- 3:39Speaker 1: like arm is in the frame, and then there's somebody's
- 3:42Speaker 1: head who's a lot shorter, and then they appear to
- 3:46Speaker 1: be looking at Agi, who is standing a little bit away,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and the narration continues. Okamodasan was the first subject of
- 3:54Speaker 1: the very first pictures that Uncle Shunichi sold. He worked
- 3:58Speaker 1: as Uncle Shunichi's assistant while he was in college. Now
- 4:01Speaker 1: we see Ag up close and he says, Hi, so
- 4:04Speaker 1: you're a Kida kun Akira. I guess this small child
- 4:09Speaker 1: just kind of looks at him, and Ag bends down
- 4:11Speaker 1: towards her, and the narration, which I believe is Akida says,
- 4:16Speaker 1: aside from thinking I was a boy the first time
- 4:19Speaker 1: he aside from thinking I was a boy the first
- 4:21Speaker 1: time we met, he was really nice and he always
- 4:23Speaker 1: played with me whenever we saw each other. We now
- 4:26Speaker 1: see maybe Akira looking down at a piece of paper.
- 4:29Speaker 1: The narration continues. Now Okamuda sands a photographer himself in
- 4:33Speaker 1: New York City. She puts the piece of paper into
- 4:36Speaker 1: her pocket. It's been three years since I saw him.
- 4:39Speaker 1: We get a clearer shot of Akira now she is,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I guess, probably a teenager, and the narration continues, I've
- 4:46Speaker 1: come to New York to stay at his house. She
- 4:49Speaker 1: looks at her watch. It looks like she's probably in
- 4:51Speaker 1: an airport. There are people with luggage walking around, and
- 4:54Speaker 1: she's standing and waiting, and it says August nineteen ninety four,
- 4:59Speaker 1: which means we are nine years after the beginning of
- 5:03Speaker 1: Banana Fish in the manga, and eight years after the
- 5:07Speaker 1: end of Banana Fish, because the very end was in
- 5:10Speaker 1: nineteen eighty seven. Anyway, the narration continues, he got his
- 5:16Speaker 1: green card two years ago, and I guess he's staying
- 5:18Speaker 1: here forever. She thinks, where is he? He's supposed to
- 5:21Speaker 1: come to the airports. She looks over and she sees
- 5:24Speaker 1: this really tall dude with short black hair and sunglasses,
- 5:29Speaker 1: and he has a sign that says welcome Akira eBay
- 5:32Speaker 1: with like a dog smiling on it and like lots
- 5:34Speaker 1: of little hearts, and he says, are you a Kira.
- 5:38Speaker 1: She like runs for it, and he like grabs her
- 5:41Speaker 1: and says in Japanese come back here. You're a Kira, right,
- 5:44Speaker 1: EBA's niece Akira, And she's like, that was Japanese. This
- 5:48Speaker 1: guy's Japanese. The guy takes sunglasses off. He is he
- 5:54Speaker 1: looks like a man. He actually looks a little bit
- 5:56Speaker 1: like Blanca honestly, but is not I promise. So he
- 6:01Speaker 1: takes his glasses off and he says in Japanese, uh uh,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I'm not Japanese. I'm Chinese American. My name's Sing. Nice
- 6:08Speaker 1: to meet you. It's Sing. He's so giant. Oh my god.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Like the last time we saw Sing, he was like
- 6:14Speaker 1: fourteen or fifteen, and he was like a little kid,
- 6:17Speaker 1: and he just looks like a grown man now, a really,
- 6:21Speaker 1: really tall man. Akira is kind of besides herself and
- 6:25Speaker 1: she thinks he's huge. Sings like, I'm a friend of Aji. Okay.
- 6:29Speaker 1: He picks up her luggage. Agi got busy with work,
- 6:32Speaker 1: so I came to get you instead. This all your stuff.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Akira's like, uh yes, and he says okay, let's go.
- 6:40Speaker 1: They're walking away and Sing is like humming, and Akira thinks,
- 6:45Speaker 1: who is this guy? Nobody mentioned him to me before. Really,
- 6:48Speaker 1: nobody's ever talked about Sing. What if he's actually kidnapper
- 6:51Speaker 1: or something. Sing looks back and she kind of jumps.
- 6:55Speaker 1: He stops and he hands her something and says, ah,
- 6:58Speaker 1: he don't trust me. Here, let me show you some proof.
- 7:01Speaker 1: He hands her a picture and it is a picture
- 7:04Speaker 1: of her like as a child, like a really small child,
- 7:07Speaker 1: on Agy's shoulders and she has chop sticks up her
- 7:09Speaker 1: nose and he says, that's you right. She like is
- 7:15Speaker 1: so embarrassed, and she thinks you gave him this, Okamara
- 7:19Speaker 1: San he recognized me from it too, and she kind
- 7:21Speaker 1: of like starts crying comically. Next we see looks like
- 7:25Speaker 1: some sort of Brownstone I guess, and then maybe a taxi.
- 7:30Speaker 1: They're like getting out of the car and taking out
- 7:31Speaker 1: the luggage. Then they I guess go inside and it's
- 7:36Speaker 1: like a big nice apartment or maybe just like house.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I'm not really sure because it has stars and stuff.
- 7:46Speaker 1: So Akita's like, wow, this is like the apartment in
- 7:50Speaker 1: that movie Ghost and sings like the one with Demi
- 7:53Speaker 1: Moore and she's like, yeah, that one, and he says
- 7:55Speaker 1: you think he I guess goes over the window and
- 7:58Speaker 1: he's like, hey, Age's back, and he's says ag Akida
- 8:01Speaker 1: runs to the window too, so they're both like looking
- 8:03Speaker 1: out of it, and she says, oh, Kimona, san Agi
- 8:07Speaker 1: is just like shutting his car door. He has some
- 8:10Speaker 1: sort of sedan of some kind, and he is a
- 8:12Speaker 1: dog next to him too, and he looks up and
- 8:15Speaker 1: he says, Aki cham, we should just stop and talk
- 8:18Speaker 1: about this real quick. So Ag doesn't look anything like
- 8:22Speaker 1: we remember. I mean, he's definitely the same person, but
- 8:27Speaker 1: he looks older, obviously because it's been several years. And
- 8:33Speaker 1: he has long hair tied back in a ponytail. And
- 8:37Speaker 1: he's wearing glasses, which I wonder if, because I've been
- 8:41Speaker 1: thinking about this, it's like, why is AG wearing glasses?
- 8:44Speaker 1: We've never seen him wear glasses before. Maybe that's why
- 8:47Speaker 1: he couldn't shoot very well. Maybe he's you're sighted, but anyway,
- 8:52Speaker 1: he's wearing glasses. Akida is excited to see him, and
- 8:55Speaker 1: I guess he comes inside, and so does the dog,
- 8:58Speaker 1: who looks like maybe a Golden Retriever or a yellow lab.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I don't really know what the difference is, I mean
- 9:04Speaker 1: by the way they look, and Sing leans over and
- 9:07Speaker 1: pets the dog and says, yep, she's here. Hey, buddy
- 9:11Speaker 1: and Agi t Singh says, thanks for going. Sing Akita
- 9:15Speaker 1: thinks his hair's grown. He looks kind of different. He
- 9:19Speaker 1: looks very different. He also looks, I don't know, thinner
- 9:24Speaker 1: and maybe a little bit more muscular, just like a
- 9:27Speaker 1: slightly older person, you know, since he's at this point
- 9:29Speaker 1: almost thirty. Anyway, Age says, aki Chan, is that really you? Wow?
- 9:34Speaker 1: You've sure grown a lot. That's right, geority in middle school.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I'm sorry he couldn't pick you up at the airport.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Did you think I'd forgotten about you? Akira is like, no,
- 9:43Speaker 1: it was fine. Aside from your hair, you haven't changed
- 9:45Speaker 1: a bit. O komotives on. I gaut some narration here
- 9:48Speaker 1: from Mikira says he should be twenty eight by now,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but he seems just the same as he always was,
- 9:54Speaker 1: like a college student. Agi smiles, Well, you've changed, aki Chan.
- 9:59Speaker 1: You're more girlish now, a real young lady. Akira does
- 10:02Speaker 1: not look happy, and she says no, I'm not. Sing
- 10:06Speaker 1: cuts in and says, so how did go? And Age's
- 10:10Speaker 1: like okay, it's gonna happen. Sing's like cool, that's great.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Agy Akita is confused. Singh turns to her and in
- 10:18Speaker 1: Japanese says he's gonna have to show at a really
- 10:21Speaker 1: famous gallery. Akira's like, wow, really that's great. Agi says, hey,
- 10:27Speaker 1: Aki chan, I have tomorrow off, so if there's any
- 10:29Speaker 1: place you want to see, I can take you there.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Aki's like, really, then let me see I know Greenwich
- 10:36Speaker 1: Village and Age's like, that's where we are. Aki is
- 10:41Speaker 1: embarrassed and she's like we are, oh okay, then oh yeah.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Tiffany Sing is like, might have guessed, betcha The Empire
- 10:50Speaker 1: State Building comes next, but it does not. She says, oh,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I want to go see the New York Public Library, No,
- 10:58Speaker 1: the one with the statues of lines that was in Ghostbusters. Fuck.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Ag is surprised that he doesn't say anything, and Sing
- 11:07Speaker 1: looks over. Akira is obviously a little bit confused about
- 11:11Speaker 1: this sudden silence between them, and finally Sing says, why
- 11:15Speaker 1: don't I take you there? I have to return some
- 11:17Speaker 1: books anyway. Then we'll stop at Tiffany's and meet Ag
- 11:19Speaker 1: in Central Park for lunch. How's that? Akira is like,
- 11:22Speaker 1: we'll have a picnic. Now. They are sitting on the
- 11:25Speaker 1: couch and Akira is looking at a book or I
- 11:30Speaker 1: guess it's like a photo album. And Akida is like, no, wait,
- 11:34Speaker 1: this is you sing and Sing says, yup, I was
- 11:37Speaker 1: a total shrimp until I was sixteen, but now I'm
- 11:39Speaker 1: six three. Yeah, he's definitely six three. Akira is like,
- 11:43Speaker 1: you were so tiny. Singh says, leave me alone. She thinks,
- 11:47Speaker 1: sings Japanese is really good. He kind of scared me
- 11:50Speaker 1: at first, but he's actually pretty nice good. I guess
- 11:53Speaker 1: it's later now it looks like maybe Ag is tucking
- 11:57Speaker 1: Akira into bed, and then back in the living room,
- 12:00Speaker 1: sing is sitting on the couch with him, and Singh
- 12:03Speaker 1: says she is asleep, and he's like, yeah, I thought
- 12:07Speaker 1: she might be wired from the time difference, but I
- 12:09Speaker 1: guess she's just real tired. And then he says thank you.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Singh puts his hand on his head and says, you
- 12:17Speaker 1: aren't over it yet, huh. Ag is not looking at him.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I think he's getting some coffee and he says, and you,
- 12:27Speaker 1: sing puts his hand over his mouthg continues, are you
- 12:30Speaker 1: over it yet? Sing? Are you? Eg pours the coffee
- 12:38Speaker 1: as stares at him. Not sure if you can ever
- 12:41Speaker 1: get over something like that. Probably We cut to sing
- 12:45Speaker 1: in a room looks like an office maybe, and he
- 12:48Speaker 1: is at a computer and he is looking at something
- 12:51Speaker 1: on the computer, and I'm going to try to read this,
- 12:54Speaker 1: but it's kind of blurry on my computer, so I'm
- 12:56Speaker 1: not one hundred percent sure I can. I am sorry
- 12:58Speaker 1: because it would probably be fun. Let me see if
- 13:00Speaker 1: I can. Sooner or later, the world economy will be
- 13:03Speaker 1: unable to move forward without taking China into account. Yeah,
- 13:06Speaker 1: the Chinese government's productive stance toward financial reform anticipates the
- 13:12Speaker 1: country's entry into Oh Man, I can't read this. And
- 13:18Speaker 1: with a population one fifth of the global total, that
- 13:23Speaker 1: is to say, a huge potential market, the opportunities for
- 13:27Speaker 1: companies worldwide are obvious. Banking on the promise of rapid
- 13:33Speaker 1: further development, China is moving steadily toward becoming a market economy.
- 13:38Speaker 1: That's really true. Cool, so saying is reading this, and
- 13:42Speaker 1: then he's like, hard to believe this was written by
- 13:45Speaker 1: an eighteen year old sheesh precious, a little bastard. His phone,
- 13:50Speaker 1: I guess cell phone starts to vibrate in his bag
- 13:53Speaker 1: that's on the floor, and he gets it and picks
- 13:55Speaker 1: it up and says, it's me from Hong Kong put
- 13:58Speaker 1: him through. At the other end of the line, we
- 14:00Speaker 1: hear someone say hello, Sing, how are you? Sings like, okay,
- 14:04Speaker 1: what about you? The other person says, a little tired
- 14:08Speaker 1: from crisscrossing Guangdong for the past month. Sings like the
- 14:11Speaker 1: special economic zones. The other person says, exactly, we're going
- 14:16Speaker 1: to be setting up a joint venture over here. Sing
- 14:19Speaker 1: kind of smirks, and he's like, you're sure you can
- 14:21Speaker 1: trust the Chinese government. The other person says, yeah, right,
- 14:25Speaker 1: this is very clearly you along. By the way, Sing
- 14:28Speaker 1: continues kind of ironic. Huh so, now you'll be playing
- 14:31Speaker 1: psych out with your own countrymen. Great way to make
- 14:33Speaker 1: sure you die young. There is a pause on the line,
- 14:36Speaker 1: and Sing says, what Ue Lung's like, you're starting to
- 14:42Speaker 1: sound like him the way you just said that, Your tone,
- 14:46Speaker 1: your inflection just like him. Sing does not look happy
- 14:51Speaker 1: to hear this. Uelon continues, well, you practically idolized him
- 14:56Speaker 1: after all, Sings like, I'm hanging up if you're done
- 14:59Speaker 1: with business. Ue Lung says, you're delving through his database,
- 15:02Speaker 1: aren't you? Have you found anything interesting? Sing seems a
- 15:06Speaker 1: little bit more relaxed now and he says, it's all interesting.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I mean, damn, he is stuff in there on everything, economics, history, pharmacology,
- 15:14Speaker 1: you name it, and all neatly filed away and labeled folders.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I never knew he was so organized. Come on, of
- 15:21Speaker 1: course he was, ue Lung says. His ability to gather
- 15:24Speaker 1: information was nothing sort of phenomenal. Sing says, I found
- 15:28Speaker 1: a whole bunch of files with essays he wrote too.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I can pronounce someone facts him to you if you want.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Nobody would believe a kid of seventeen or eighteen wrote
- 15:35Speaker 1: them eight years ago. Man. Mind blowing and somewhat annoying,
- 15:39Speaker 1: ue Lung says, you seem to be enjoying yourself. You
- 15:42Speaker 1: always sound so animated when you're talking about him. A
- 15:48Speaker 1: journey into Ash's mind very intriguing. I'd like to take
- 15:51Speaker 1: it myself. Are you camping out at AG's all the time?
- 15:55Speaker 1: By the way, Singh says, I'm not camping out, and
- 15:58Speaker 1: it's not all the time. Ue lungs like, you don't
- 16:01Speaker 1: have to keep it a secret from me. I bear
- 16:03Speaker 1: some responsibility for the obligation you feel toward him. Do
- 16:08Speaker 1: whatever you feel you need to. I'm planning on leaving
- 16:10Speaker 1: New York in your hands eventually, So as long as
- 16:12Speaker 1: you keep that in mind, I don't intend to interfere
- 16:15Speaker 1: with your private life. Just one piece of advice, though,
- 16:18Speaker 1: and I say this as your friend. Don't fight your
- 16:21Speaker 1: memories because you're never gonna win. Singh says, I'm hanging up,
- 16:26Speaker 1: and ue Lung's like say hi to ask for me,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and sing ends the call. He looks out the window.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Now it's a different day. I assume we see like
- 16:39Speaker 1: a shot of the sidewalk with trees, probably outside of
- 16:43Speaker 1: AG's apartments, and I guess this is a letter that's
- 16:48Speaker 1: Aquina is writing. It just kind of looks like narration
- 16:51Speaker 1: and it says, dear uncle Shoon, how are you? New
- 16:55Speaker 1: York is a lot of fun. I'm really glad I
- 16:57Speaker 1: had the courage to come. Thanks for talking mom and
- 16:59Speaker 1: dad to letting me do this. We see Ag looks
- 17:03Speaker 1: like he's taking a photograph at his studio and there's
- 17:06Speaker 1: some other people there too, and the narration continues. Guess what,
- 17:10Speaker 1: Okamora son is gonna have an exhibition. He's really busy
- 17:13Speaker 1: getting ready forward in between his assignments. I'm helping him out.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Akira is sitting at a table, and the dog is
- 17:20Speaker 1: there too, and it continues. I got to know everybody
- 17:23Speaker 1: at the gallery, and I've even learned a little English.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Sing walks in and she says Hi Sing and sings
- 17:29Speaker 1: like Hi. Akia ag around and she says yeah. In
- 17:32Speaker 1: the dark room, we get some more narration. Sing is
- 17:35Speaker 1: hard to figure out. Sing is bending down to pets
- 17:40Speaker 1: the dog. I guess his name is Buddy, and it continues.
- 17:44Speaker 1: He's twenty three, five years younger than Okamoto San, and
- 17:48Speaker 1: a student at the City University of New York. He
- 17:51Speaker 1: has a really fancy house out on Long Island, but
- 17:54Speaker 1: for some reason, he spends most of his time at
- 17:55Speaker 1: Okamoto San's. Sing I guess, in response to him being
- 17:59Speaker 1: in the dark room, says, is okay, I'll wait for
- 18:01Speaker 1: him to come out. We see some food on a
- 18:04Speaker 1: table now, and the narration continues. He even has his
- 18:09Speaker 1: own room here. It kind of seems like this is
- 18:11Speaker 1: where he really lives. She says, are you cooking for
- 18:15Speaker 1: three people again? Tonight? Okamona san ag is doing stuff
- 18:19Speaker 1: in the kitchen and he says yep. She's like, but
- 18:22Speaker 1: Singh said he was going to eat out tonight at
- 18:24Speaker 1: a French restaurant. AG's like, I bet he shows up
- 18:28Speaker 1: here though it's only a business dinner after all, Akira
- 18:31Speaker 1: is like, business dinner, What do you mean? Ag says,
- 18:34Speaker 1: Sing's a businessman. He's the president of a trading company
- 18:37Speaker 1: and he owns a few buildings down in Chinatown. Akura
- 18:40Speaker 1: is like, what, No way, I thought he was a student.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Ag continues, the educational system is different here than it
- 18:47Speaker 1: is in Japan. It isn't uncommon for somebody to do
- 18:49Speaker 1: business and go to school at the same time. That's true.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Once he gets his degree from CuNi, Sing's hoping to
- 18:55Speaker 1: get into Harvard Business School for his NBA. Having an
- 18:58Speaker 1: MBA makes a huge difference for doing business. Apparently, Akira thinks,
- 19:02Speaker 1: guess that's why he studies so late every night. American
- 19:05Speaker 1: college students sure have it tough. We hear something like
- 19:09Speaker 1: the door open and Sing is there in a suit
- 19:13Speaker 1: with his hair slips back. He looks so much like
- 19:16Speaker 1: an adult, and he says, Age, give me something to eat. Uugh,
- 19:19Speaker 1: if you ask me, French food is total crap. Akida
- 19:22Speaker 1: goes over and says, you wear suits sometimes, Sing, you
- 19:26Speaker 1: look so different, like a different person. Sing kind of smirks,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and he's like, make you swoon. You in love with me?
- 19:33Speaker 1: Akira and she's like ew, no way, and he says, oh,
- 19:37Speaker 1: why don't you just admit it, kiddo, and she's like,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I am not. Agy looks over and is like, hey
- 19:42Speaker 1: you too. Dinner's almost ready. We see chopsticks holding a
- 19:46Speaker 1: Tempora prawn and someone says, mm, that's what I call
- 19:51Speaker 1: good food, and Akira's like, it's because we're from and
- 19:55Speaker 1: Singh says the land of Chopsticks. And there's like music notes,
- 19:57Speaker 1: so I just don't know what that's supposed to be.
- 19:59Speaker 1: They're saying a song that they know, I guess, and
- 20:02Speaker 1: smiling at each other, and Ag says, hey, Aki chan,
- 20:06Speaker 1: do you like New York? So far Aki eats some
- 20:09Speaker 1: food and says, I love it here. For one thing,
- 20:11Speaker 1: nobody ever says that's a boy's name. When they hear
- 20:14Speaker 1: my name, sings like, what is Akira a boy's name?
- 20:18Speaker 1: She says, mostly what about your name? Sing? Does it
- 20:22Speaker 1: mean anything? They have a large spread of food in
- 20:24Speaker 1: front of them at the table. Sing is eating and
- 20:28Speaker 1: he says demon lion and also guilt. They're silent for
- 20:33Speaker 1: a second. Agi looks hurt, and then he says, hey,
- 20:39Speaker 1: Aki Chan, don't you like your name? Aki, who has
- 20:44Speaker 1: a bolder face, says I hate it. Heg's like, I
- 20:48Speaker 1: love your name. Did you know that Akira means dawn?
- 20:52Speaker 1: He smiles and closes his eyes. I know somebody whose
- 20:55Speaker 1: name means the same thing, Sing looks down. There's some
- 21:00Speaker 1: goes maybe Okamara San has changed a bit from the
- 21:05Speaker 1: time he used to play with me. Okay, So back
- 21:08Speaker 1: at the gallery, I guess this like person with kind
- 21:11Speaker 1: of like shortish hair, it's kind of a little bit wavy,
- 21:15Speaker 1: light colored hair is waving and he says, Ag, I
- 21:19Speaker 1: came to help you out. There's a bunch of people
- 21:22Speaker 1: doing stuff too. AG looks over and says, hey, Michael,
- 21:25Speaker 1: Oh my god, Michael for real. Michael says, it's so
- 21:29Speaker 1: cool that you're doing the show. Mom and dad are
- 21:32Speaker 1: really excited about it too. They said they'd stop by tonight.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Oh my god, Michael, Michael and Max and Jessica. Ag
- 21:42Speaker 1: in Japanese says, oh, Aki Chan, you haven't met Michael yet.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Remember Max and Jessica. We saw them last week, but
- 21:49Speaker 1: I didn't get to see them. Well, this is their son.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Michael and then in English he says, and Michael, this
- 21:54Speaker 1: is a Kira. She's eBay sans niece. She's visiting from Japan.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I think you guys are about the same age, Michael says. Akira.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Hey Agi turns to Akira and says in Japanese, he says,
- 22:07Speaker 1: you have the same name as an anime. Michael's a
- 22:10Speaker 1: big fan of Japanese anime and manga. And then in English,
- 22:14Speaker 1: she says, what was it called? The one that you
- 22:16Speaker 1: liked best? Michael's like Dragon Ball, sailor moon Loom from
- 22:20Speaker 1: Uda se Yatsuda. Akira thinks, don't tell me this kid
- 22:24Speaker 1: is in otaku. Oh, I understand that you hate us. Akira.
- 22:30Speaker 1: She's looking at Michael as he does something. He looks
- 22:35Speaker 1: like a teenager now, I mean obviously because he was
- 22:38Speaker 1: a kid when we saw him last. And she thinks,
- 22:41Speaker 1: she Otako over here, pretty good looking. Michael looks over
- 22:47Speaker 1: hey Agi, aren't she gonna hang any pictures of Ash
- 22:49Speaker 1: in the show? Age stops what he's doing, saying, looks
- 22:52Speaker 1: over a She's like, no, I couldn't find any good ones.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Akira looks confused and thinks Ash sounds kind of familiar,
- 23:03Speaker 1: singh is carrying some sort of like big roll of something,
- 23:07Speaker 1: and he turns mikey, do me a favor and take
- 23:09Speaker 1: that panel over to section eight three. Mike, who's holding
- 23:12Speaker 1: something else looks like a picture, says, sure, thing we
- 23:15Speaker 1: had to. Later, Akida is sitting on the couch looking
- 23:18Speaker 1: through a photo album and she says, wow, all these
- 23:21Speaker 1: pictures were taken in New York City. He's filled them
- 23:23Speaker 1: in in the order they were taken. Well, he is
- 23:25Speaker 1: a pro after all. She sees something and is a
- 23:29Speaker 1: little bit surprised. We see some of the pictures. There's
- 23:33Speaker 1: a fire hydrant, there's someone who I'm not sure who
- 23:36Speaker 1: that is. These are pictures taken in eighty five. Looks like,
- 23:41Speaker 1: oh shit, like August of eighty five. She thinks, nineteen
- 23:46Speaker 1: eighty five. That's the year Okomutasn came to New York
- 23:50Speaker 1: for the first time with Uncle Shun. She sees a
- 23:54Speaker 1: blank space. It says eleven twenty eighty five at the
- 24:00Speaker 1: library with a. She thinks at the library with A,
- 24:06Speaker 1: and then out loud, she says, A, I wonder why
- 24:09Speaker 1: only this picture is missing. Wait, here's another one. There's
- 24:13Speaker 1: another blank space that says ten twenty one eighty five
- 24:18Speaker 1: Central Park. A. She thinks of Michael saying, aren't you
- 24:24Speaker 1: going to put any pictures of Ash in the show?
- 24:27Speaker 1: And she thinks, oh, now I remember. We see her
- 24:32Speaker 1: remembering Shunichi talking to Ag on the phone, I guess
- 24:36Speaker 1: a while back, and Shunichi says, you're applying for green card?
- 24:42Speaker 1: Does that mean you're still thinking about ash Agy? She
- 24:46Speaker 1: looks at another blank space actually, which is above a
- 24:50Speaker 1: picture that looks like it is of bones and Kang
- 24:54Speaker 1: by the way, and it's dated seven, eighteen eighty five
- 24:58Speaker 1: in Central Park with A. She thinks A is for Ash.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So who is Ash? We go to somebody punching a
- 25:10Speaker 1: one of those punching bags. Yeah, punching a punching bag,
- 25:13Speaker 1: like super hard, like really going at it. It's sing
- 25:15Speaker 1: by the way. There's a dude standing, you know, holding
- 25:18Speaker 1: the punching bag and he's getting like real beats by it,
- 25:22Speaker 1: you know, I mean, as much as you can be.
- 25:25Speaker 1: And he says, okay, okay, sing stop time out. Sing
- 25:29Speaker 1: is breathing hard. And the guy says, your right's pretty good,
- 25:32Speaker 1: but your left hook needs work. Sings like my left huh.
- 25:36Speaker 1: The guy says, still, man, those were some good punches.
- 25:39Speaker 1: You got the height, you got the right build, you
- 25:41Speaker 1: got the guts, everything of going into boxing for real.
- 25:44Speaker 1: So long as you lay off the ladies, you could
- 25:45Speaker 1: go pro. Sing, is I guess taking his boxing gloves off,
- 25:50Speaker 1: and he says, no thanks. Guys like chicks mess up
- 25:53Speaker 1: your legs. One round in the sack and they're jello
- 25:55Speaker 1: what Sing kind of laughs and he's like, how about
- 25:59Speaker 1: if you go two rounds? The guy like sighs, and
- 26:02Speaker 1: then someone off raime says, sing, you got a visit
- 26:04Speaker 1: her Sing looks over and he and some other dude
- 26:08Speaker 1: are surprised to see little Akira walk in the door.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Sing sits down and it looks like somebody's helping him
- 26:13Speaker 1: take off his boxing gloves. I don't really understand, and
- 26:16Speaker 1: he in Japanese says, Hiakira, how'd you find me here?
- 26:20Speaker 1: Akira says, Michael told me. The guy says, Yo, sing
- 26:24Speaker 1: jailbait more your style, dude. He kind of whistles and
- 26:27Speaker 1: sing says, yeah, right, she's visiting Agy and then in
- 26:31Speaker 1: Japanese says, so what's up? He's taking the kind of
- 26:34Speaker 1: bandaging off his hands. Now. Akira says, do you know
- 26:38Speaker 1: somebody named Ash Sing just kind of stares at her,
- 26:42Speaker 1: and she says, you do, don't you. Sing, pauses for
- 26:47Speaker 1: a second and says, why are you asking me this?
- 26:50Speaker 1: Akira looks down. I was looking through Okamoto San's files
- 26:54Speaker 1: and everyone that says A has a picture missing. Sing
- 26:57Speaker 1: kind of looks to the side and then he says,
- 27:00Speaker 1: Ash it's the name of my computer. Akira. Kraa's like huh.
- 27:05Speaker 1: He's like, go on home now, I'll be there soon.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I guess. Later he gets home and they go into
- 27:13Speaker 1: I guess that office room that he was in before,
- 27:15Speaker 1: and we see the computer and he says, see Akira,
- 27:20Speaker 1: Meat Ash Ash meet Akira. Akira is like, that's an
- 27:24Speaker 1: old model. Sing says, yup, but sure is, but it
- 27:27Speaker 1: still works fine. Akira looks super unimpressed. She says, did
- 27:33Speaker 1: this belong to that person named Ash? Sing says yeah,
- 27:37Speaker 1: it did. He's like putting or taking something out of
- 27:40Speaker 1: his bag and he says, I'm musing it now with
- 27:43Speaker 1: AG's permission. Akidra, who is still staring at the computer, says,
- 27:47Speaker 1: did o Kamara San love this Ash person? Okay? Fine,
- 27:54Speaker 1: I'll be okay, saying still messing with his bag not
- 27:59Speaker 1: looking up set. Yes, he did very much. Akira uh
- 28:04Speaker 1: looks a little annoyed, and she thinks a simple yes
- 28:07Speaker 1: would have been fine. She looks up at Saying and says,
- 28:12Speaker 1: was this ash person beautiful? Was this ash person beautiful?
- 28:17Speaker 1: Saying says, very beautiful, so beautiful you could hardly believe it.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Blonde hair, green eyes, long arms and legs, graceful way
- 28:26Speaker 1: of moving, i Q of two hundred, and the education
- 28:28Speaker 1: to go with it. Akira is not impressed, and she says,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I'm going back to the gallery. I ought to help
- 28:36Speaker 1: out some more cool. Tell aj I'll be there later too,
- 28:39Speaker 1: and she slams the door, and he chuckles and is like,
- 28:42Speaker 1: it's someone jealous. It's okay, he's very much dead. Anyway,
- 28:46Speaker 1: He puts his hand on his head and he says,
- 28:50Speaker 1: hmm ash. He looks at the computer and he thinks,
- 28:53Speaker 1: I guess about what you alone told him and says,
- 28:57Speaker 1: don't fight your memories, because you're never gonna win. He
- 29:00Speaker 1: drops his head to his knees. Anyway, Akita is walking
- 29:06Speaker 1: and she's thinking about what Singh said. Very beautiful, so beautiful,
- 29:10Speaker 1: you could hardly believe it. O Ka Muda San is
- 29:13Speaker 1: he still stuck on that Ash person. She's back at
- 29:15Speaker 1: the gallery now, and Michael's there and he is holding
- 29:19Speaker 1: a snow cone, and he says, Hun, did you find Sing?
- 29:22Speaker 1: He wasn't at the gym today. She just walks past him,
- 29:25Speaker 1: and he's like super confused, and she thinks that Sing's
- 29:29Speaker 1: a real Meani Sing is still sitting on the bed
- 29:32Speaker 1: and he lifts off his head and looks at the
- 29:33Speaker 1: computer and he says, you satisfied, Aggars forever? Is that
- 29:38Speaker 1: what you wanted? Of course not, he continues, Guess what.
- 29:44Speaker 1: He hasn't gone anywhere near the public library in seven years.
- 29:48Speaker 1: He won't even go any place where you can see
- 29:50Speaker 1: the public library. I keep wondering, what were you thinking
- 29:53Speaker 1: about that day? We get a shot of Ashes legs, feet, obviously,
- 30:00Speaker 1: and some blood on the floor, and Sin continues while
- 30:05Speaker 1: the blood slowly drained from your body, and your blood
- 30:08Speaker 1: pressure and your body temperature dropped during those long hours
- 30:13Speaker 1: until death finally came. He leans back against the wall.
- 30:16Speaker 1: You must have suffered a lot because the knife missed
- 30:19Speaker 1: your vital organs. And yet we see you, know, like
- 30:22Speaker 1: fifteen year old saying standing in front of Ash's body,
- 30:27Speaker 1: I guess to identify him, and he continues, you were
- 30:31Speaker 1: smiling as if you were having a really good dream.
- 30:37Speaker 1: He picks up a letter and he says, did this
- 30:42Speaker 1: have something to do with that? He opens it and
- 30:45Speaker 1: of course it is the note that Ag Wrotash, and
- 30:49Speaker 1: it's you know, still staying with blood and everything, and
- 30:52Speaker 1: we see the part written out that says you're not alone, Ash,
- 30:57Speaker 1: I'm with you. My soul is always with you, saying
- 31:01Speaker 1: puts his hand to kind of his forehead and he
- 31:04Speaker 1: smiles like kind of sadly, and he says, geez, look
- 31:08Speaker 1: at this, it's practically a love letter. And he thinks
- 31:12Speaker 1: AG's letter staying with Ash's blood and with his tears.
- 31:15Speaker 1: He says, out loud, it must have been this that
- 31:18Speaker 1: let Lao get you that day. He covers his eyes,
- 31:21Speaker 1: because there's no other way he could have killed you otherwise.
- 31:25Speaker 1: He thinks, I can never say this to Agi. I'll
- 31:28Speaker 1: just have to keep it to myself and live with
- 31:30Speaker 1: it the way I'll always have to live with what
- 31:32Speaker 1: Lao did. Then, out loud, he says, it's been long enough. Ash,
- 31:36Speaker 1: you hear me, let Ag go now? If you don't
- 31:40Speaker 1: let him go, he'll never be happy again. I need
- 31:44Speaker 1: him to be happy because until he is, I can't
- 31:48Speaker 1: listen to me. Ash. I'm getting him back from you
- 31:51Speaker 1: no matter what. Fuck ah. So I guess at this
- 31:59Speaker 1: point I did want to say this that in the manga,
- 32:03Speaker 1: it is ambiguous about why Ash died. Akimi Yoshita makes
- 32:09Speaker 1: a point to really say that, just like in this
- 32:14Speaker 1: that Laud didn't hit any of Ash's vital organs, so
- 32:18Speaker 1: Ash just fucking bled out. But uh so, and I
- 32:25Speaker 1: didn't really talk about this in episode twenty four, but like,
- 32:29Speaker 1: what could he have done? Like he couldn't go to
- 32:32Speaker 1: the hospital because he would have gone to jail. This
- 32:34Speaker 1: was eighty five. It's not like he could hit a
- 32:36Speaker 1: cell phone, Like he kind of made the decision to die.
- 32:41Speaker 1: It's kind of suicide, kind of a little bit. It's
- 32:45Speaker 1: kind of ambiguous, you know, But it didn't feel that
- 32:49Speaker 1: way in the anime, and it just hurts a little
- 32:52Speaker 1: bit more to think about it that way. But anyway,
- 32:57Speaker 1: let's continue. I'm gonna stop crying a little bit at
- 32:59Speaker 1: least for a couple of minutes. And uh yeah, So
- 33:03Speaker 1: now we see someone drawing a like a little female
- 33:08Speaker 1: anime character she's wearing like a dress. She's got like,
- 33:12Speaker 1: you know, shoulder like peir and uh, there's like another
- 33:16Speaker 1: drawing that's been like crossed out and next to her
- 33:19Speaker 1: on both sides. It says ash, Yeah, Akira is drawing it.
- 33:23Speaker 1: She thinks blonde hair, green eyes, long arms and legs.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Then Michael's like, what's that? Can I see? And just
- 33:30Speaker 1: scares the shit out of Akira And she just puts
- 33:33Speaker 1: it behind her back real quick, and she's like, it's nothing,
- 33:35Speaker 1: I can't draw anyways. Michael's like, Age's about to get interviewed.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Guess he's hitting the big time. Akira looks over and
- 33:43Speaker 1: sees Agy with I guess the reporter. They're like talking,
- 33:47Speaker 1: and she thinks, oh, yeah, I heard that the Village
- 33:50Speaker 1: Voice had requested an interview with him. Now we see
- 33:53Speaker 1: Age sitting with this person, probably from the Village Voice.
- 33:57Speaker 1: And she says, so most of the works in the
- 34:00Speaker 1: show where featured in Vanity Fair or other magazines? Is
- 34:02Speaker 1: that correct? Ag says, yes, that's correct. She's like, people
- 34:07Speaker 1: who see your work sense an undefinable what shall I
- 34:11Speaker 1: call it? Warmth, kindness in the camera's gaze towards its subjects.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Which might be considered odd with your choice of locale,
- 34:18Speaker 1: that is to say, New York City. Indeed, the freshness
- 34:21Speaker 1: of your approach has caused waves in the New York
- 34:24Speaker 1: City art scene. What is your own attitude to this city?
- 34:27Speaker 1: I believe you were assaulted by a mugger several years
- 34:30Speaker 1: ago and left seriously wounded. Didn't that experience give you
- 34:33Speaker 1: a negative view of New York? Ag kind of puts
- 34:37Speaker 1: his hand over his mouth and says, let me see,
- 34:40Speaker 1: how should I put this. It's true that the people
- 34:42Speaker 1: of New York are aggressive, both in the good sense
- 34:45Speaker 1: and bad senses of the word. But he kind of smiles.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Everything is here, the sleazy, the sweets, the horrible, and
- 34:53Speaker 1: the good. As a friend of mine once said he
- 34:56Speaker 1: was talking about his hometown. Everyone is watching, including saying
- 34:59Speaker 1: who a little upset. Ag continues, in other words, in
- 35:05Speaker 1: other words, it's not all sweetness and light. So if
- 35:09Speaker 1: my photographs give the impression you described that, maybe because
- 35:13Speaker 1: I love both the light and the darkness, She says,
- 35:17Speaker 1: I see, well, I think that your answer clearly shows
- 35:21Speaker 1: that you yourself are just as compassionate as your pictures.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Ag is a little embarrassed, and he says, not really,
- 35:29Speaker 1: just as my assistance. Sometimes I lose my temper and
- 35:31Speaker 1: yell at them. She's like, you lose your temper. I
- 35:35Speaker 1: can't even imagine. Akira is watching, but Michael's next to her,
- 35:39Speaker 1: and she says Michael, and he's like hmm. She says,
- 35:42Speaker 1: do you know someone named Dash? He says sure did.
- 35:46Speaker 1: He was my hero still is. Akira is surprised, and
- 35:50Speaker 1: she says he. She walks over to Sing and says sing.
- 35:54Speaker 1: He turns back to look at her and says, what
- 35:57Speaker 1: is it kid? She says that Ash person was a man.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Singh looks at her for a second and says, let's
- 36:04Speaker 1: get out of here. We cut to a building I
- 36:09Speaker 1: believe is in Chinatown. It's just real beat the shit
- 36:12Speaker 1: out of it's like cracked, and you know, it's an
- 36:16Speaker 1: apartment building, and Akita and Singer inside and it's just
- 36:22Speaker 1: covered in graffiti, like I don't think anyone lives there anymore.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I think it's just totally vacant. And she's looking around.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Actually the graffiti I can see says it looks like
- 36:31Speaker 1: that's fuck you, which is awesome. Good job Akimi Yosha
- 36:35Speaker 1: up And anyway, she's looking around, and she says, where
- 36:39Speaker 1: is this? Sing is overstanding by a window and he says,
- 36:43Speaker 1: this is where my family used to live a long
- 36:45Speaker 1: time ago. Everything here, the sleazy, the sweet, the horrible,
- 36:49Speaker 1: the good. Who told you about ash O? Kira's like
- 36:54Speaker 1: I found out from Michael was this ash person? Okomono
- 36:59Speaker 1: San's well lover, Singh says he was more than that,
- 37:06Speaker 1: Which doesn't mean their relationship was sexual, because it wasn't.
- 37:09Speaker 1: But they did love each other, maybe the way lovers do.
- 37:13Speaker 1: They were connected to each other soul to soul. Akira says,
- 37:18Speaker 1: but he died right this ash person. Sing's like, yeah,
- 37:23Speaker 1: he was killed by my brother. She is surprised, and
- 37:25Speaker 1: he continues, my brother Lao was the one who killed
- 37:28Speaker 1: ash It happens seven years ago. Akira thinks, seven years ago.
- 37:34Speaker 1: That's around the time Oka Murosan came back from New
- 37:37Speaker 1: York with those injuries. But then he went back to
- 37:39Speaker 1: New York almost right away with Uncle Shun before his
- 37:42Speaker 1: wounds had even healed. We see a picture of a
- 37:46Speaker 1: very hurt looking Agi with Shuniji holding him, and then
- 37:50Speaker 1: just Shunichi alone and she continues, and then Uncle Shun
- 37:54Speaker 1: came back to Japan alone. Singh says Agi changed after
- 37:59Speaker 1: that in every single way, his personality, the way he lives.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Ash's death totally changed him. It changed AG's whole life.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Sing and Akira look back at Ag is standing in
- 38:12Speaker 1: the doorway, and he says, I saw the two of
- 38:16Speaker 1: you leaving, and I guessed you might come here, Aki chan,
- 38:20Speaker 1: Could you go home ahead of us? I need to
- 38:22Speaker 1: talk to sing Akira smiles, sure, see you later. I'll
- 38:27Speaker 1: make dinner for all of us, okay. Ag smiles at
- 38:30Speaker 1: her politely, and I guess she leaves and when she's gone,
- 38:34Speaker 1: Singh says, she's gonna make dinner for all of us.
- 38:38Speaker 1: That's a pretty sweet kid, right there. Ag says, have
- 38:41Speaker 1: I really changed so much? Sing I've grown up? That's
- 38:45Speaker 1: all I think I'm doing. Okay sings like, that's not
- 38:49Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. Ash is dead. Why can't you
- 38:52Speaker 1: accept that he's dead? Ag? He fucking pushes Ag against
- 38:56Speaker 1: the wall and says, let him go, Just let go,
- 38:59Speaker 1: damn it. He collapses onto Ag like hugging him now,
- 39:03Speaker 1: and says, why can't you move on? I want you
- 39:06Speaker 1: to be happy again? Ag. Ag looks, I don't know
- 39:10Speaker 1: slightly surprised but also not super phased about any of this,
- 39:15Speaker 1: and he says, Sing, I'm thinking you're going to Cape
- 39:19Speaker 1: God tomorrow. Sing stops hugging him, and Ag continues to
- 39:24Speaker 1: take some pictures. Why don't you come with me? I'm
- 39:28Speaker 1: taking buddy along in a curra two. We see a peer.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I guess we're at Cape Cod now and there are
- 39:33Speaker 1: a bunch of people on the pier and I think.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Akira says, gosh, it's really pretty here, and AG's like, yeah,
- 39:41Speaker 1: it is. This is where Ash was from. Akira is
- 39:44Speaker 1: like really, Ag says, yep. Once when we were here
- 39:48Speaker 1: before we went to the river to go fishing. AG
- 39:51Speaker 1: sees something and actually he sees a dude with blonde
- 39:55Speaker 1: hair like the back of him, and he just fucking
- 39:57Speaker 1: takes off and kind of cuts in front of him
- 40:01Speaker 1: and it's just some guy and he just says, oh, sorry,
- 40:05Speaker 1: I thought you were a friend of mine. Excuse me.
- 40:08Speaker 1: The kids like, no problem, but Akira and saying are
- 40:13Speaker 1: obviously concerned, and obviously AG is suffering. We know it.
- 40:18Speaker 1: A little bit later, AG is looking through a camera
- 40:21Speaker 1: and he says, move a bit further to your right,
- 40:23Speaker 1: Oki Chahan, Yeah right, around there and we see the
- 40:26Speaker 1: picture from the cover and he says, okay, one more.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Akira kind of looks up to the right, I guess,
- 40:34Speaker 1: or the left or something, and there's some light coming
- 40:36Speaker 1: through trees and she says, wow, see that how the
- 40:41Speaker 1: light's sparkling through the branches. And then she's like, I'm
- 40:44Speaker 1: gonna take buddy for a walk. One of them says, okay,
- 40:47Speaker 1: have fun, but don't go too far away. Okay, Age
- 40:50Speaker 1: and saying you're just sitting on the porch and sing says,
- 40:53Speaker 1: why'd you invite Akira to come stay with you? Do
- 40:56Speaker 1: you even know her that? Well? AG's like her parents,
- 41:00Speaker 1: you see, aren't getting along very well right now, Akichan
- 41:03Speaker 1: thinks it's her fault. Her father. That's Ebaysn's older brother
- 41:08Speaker 1: was the one who named her. We see a Kira
- 41:10Speaker 1: like walking buddy and stuff, and Agy continues, well, according
- 41:13Speaker 1: to eBay San, he's not a bad person, but he's
- 41:16Speaker 1: kind of insensitive. He'd say stuff like I really wanted
- 41:21Speaker 1: a boy, so only came up with boys' names, or
- 41:23Speaker 1: I sure was disappointed when we had a girl. He'd
- 41:26Speaker 1: actually say that stuff in front of aki Chan. Fuck.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Sometime after she started middle school, Aki Chan started having
- 41:33Speaker 1: all kinds of health problems. eBay San wrote in one
- 41:37Speaker 1: of his letters that this coincided with the time she
- 41:39Speaker 1: got her first period, and what that suggests is she's
- 41:43Speaker 1: having trouble accepting herself as a girl, and she thinks
- 41:46Speaker 1: that the reason her father doesn't come home anymore is
- 41:49Speaker 1: that she isn't a boy like he wanted. Shit. Singh says,
- 41:55Speaker 1: so that's what this is about. I guess I was
- 41:58Speaker 1: wrong about you then, deep down, and you haven't changed
- 42:00Speaker 1: a bit. Ag. Yeah, he is not. You sure got
- 42:07Speaker 1: this amazing ability to sense the last desperate SOS signals
- 42:11Speaker 1: people send out, like the time you found buddy. Even nobody,
- 42:15Speaker 1: but you would have noticed that tiny puppy in the trash.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Can you got a sixth sense for those who need help?
- 42:22Speaker 1: He thinks. I bet this is why Ash loved him.
- 42:27Speaker 1: He was probably the only one who sends to Ash's pain.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Ag says, but there was one signal that I ignored,
- 42:35Speaker 1: and that was your sing. I pretended not to hear it.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Sing is surprised. AG continues, You see, I knew about
- 42:43Speaker 1: the letter, Sing says, that's not and AG continues, I
- 42:48Speaker 1: knew that my letter was the reason he and sing's like,
- 42:51Speaker 1: that's not true. Ag continues, I knew about it, and
- 42:55Speaker 1: I didn't tell you that. I knew how terrible you felt,
- 42:58Speaker 1: but I didn't try to take the load off your shoulders.
- 43:01Speaker 1: I just kept asking myself why I didn't go see
- 43:04Speaker 1: him myself instead of asking you to take that letter.
- 43:07Speaker 1: I kept telling myself I should have gone, even if
- 43:10Speaker 1: I had to crawl on my hands and knees. It
- 43:12Speaker 1: was killing me, saying looks down. Agy continues, So I
- 43:17Speaker 1: just got focused on hating Loo and ignoring your pain.
- 43:21Speaker 1: It was the only way I could live with myself.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I'll never forget Ash. I never want to forget him,
- 43:28Speaker 1: but that doesn't mean I'm not happy or that I'll
- 43:31Speaker 1: never be happy again. At this point, Akira has returned.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Ag continues, Ash lived all out one hundred percent you
- 43:44Speaker 1: and I know that better than anyone else. I'm just
- 43:47Speaker 1: grateful and proud that I got to spend at least
- 43:50Speaker 1: a short while in the company of that brilliant, miraculous
- 43:54Speaker 1: life for us. He kind of smiles and saying, and
- 43:57Speaker 1: he says, I'm really sorry, Sing for me. Can you
- 44:00Speaker 1: live with that yourself? Singh says, I don't know if
- 44:03Speaker 1: I even ought to be around you, but I know well,
- 44:08Speaker 1: I know I could never replace Ash. Agy smiles. Of
- 44:12Speaker 1: course you could never replace Ash, just like nobody could
- 44:15Speaker 1: ever replace you, sing. Ag looks back and sees that
- 44:21Speaker 1: Akira is watching. He turns to her, and nobody could
- 44:24Speaker 1: ever replace you to either, Aki Chan. No one is
- 44:28Speaker 1: crying except for me. They're all fine. He continues, There's
- 44:33Speaker 1: only one of you in the whole world. Guess what
- 44:36Speaker 1: Ash's first name was Oslon, and that means don just
- 44:40Speaker 1: like your name, well, not really, but whatever. Akira looks
- 44:43Speaker 1: kind of surprised, and she hugs him, and she thinks
- 44:47Speaker 1: of when he said I know somebody whose name means
- 44:50Speaker 1: the same thing. I love your name, Aki Chan, and
- 44:53Speaker 1: I love you. It's maybe night now. I think they
- 45:02Speaker 1: may still be in Cape cod because we're seeing a
- 45:04Speaker 1: house that does not look like it's in New York City,
- 45:07Speaker 1: and Age is looking at something, maybe like negatives, a
- 45:10Speaker 1: film or something. He's by himself except for Buddy. He's
- 45:14Speaker 1: like putting something into like a maybe projector I don't
- 45:18Speaker 1: really know, and he says, sorry for keeping you locked
- 45:22Speaker 1: up for so long. I hit away all your pictures,
- 45:28Speaker 1: as if it would make any difference. He is looking
- 45:32Speaker 1: on a projector pictures of Ash, you know, just like
- 45:36Speaker 1: Ash has a towel on his head, Ashes putting on
- 45:39Speaker 1: his pants. They're fishing together, just them together, Ashes sleep,
- 45:46Speaker 1: Ash reading a book, and he's just kind of staring
- 45:48Speaker 1: at them, and he just starts to cry. Then we
- 45:54Speaker 1: see a gallery with Agy's work in it, and there's
- 45:58Speaker 1: a picture on a wall. It's kind of prominent, but
- 46:01Speaker 1: it's kind of far away too, and we get kind
- 46:03Speaker 1: of a narration by Akira and it goes right after
- 46:08Speaker 1: we got back from Cape cod O. Kamona San put
- 46:11Speaker 1: this picture at the very back of the gallery. Its
- 46:13Speaker 1: title was Dawn. It's, of course a picture of Ash
- 46:18Speaker 1: sitting on a window sill with his uh head resting
- 46:22Speaker 1: kind of on his hand and on his knee. The
- 46:24Speaker 1: narration continues. The young man in the picture looked very peaceful,
- 46:29Speaker 1: like he was sleeping or maybe praying. The side of
- 46:32Speaker 1: his face was gently lit by the morning sun. She thinks,
- 46:36Speaker 1: so this was Ash. He really was beautiful. She's looking
- 46:41Speaker 1: at it and she realizes Sing is standing behind her.
- 46:44Speaker 1: He looks up at the picture and he kind of
- 46:47Speaker 1: half smiles and just starts to cry. Akira looks at
- 46:51Speaker 1: him and then grabs his hand. He looks over at
- 46:54Speaker 1: her and smiles. She smiles back, and they stand there
- 47:00Speaker 1: looking at the picture of ash. Now we see a
- 47:03Speaker 1: backpack and some luggage and someone says, you all packed,
- 47:07Speaker 1: and Akira says, yep, I think. We see Ag standing
- 47:11Speaker 1: behind Akira and sing and he says, hey, aki Chan,
- 47:17Speaker 1: what about Gorbi And aki Chan's like, oh, he's on
- 47:20Speaker 1: the desk. I don't know what Gorby is. Ag says,
- 47:25Speaker 1: go on ahead, then I'll bring him and sings like okay,
- 47:29Speaker 1: I'll get this load into the car. Now, Sing and
- 47:32Speaker 1: Akira in the car and Akira says, sing, this car
- 47:36Speaker 1: is way too small for you. It is It is
- 47:39Speaker 1: a apparently Rover Mini and he like fills up everything.
- 47:44Speaker 1: It looks like he's got a hunch down because he's
- 47:46Speaker 1: hitting the ceiling of the car or the roof, and
- 47:49Speaker 1: he says it used to fit me just fine. Before
- 47:52Speaker 1: she thinks his head's hitting the top and then she's like,
- 47:55Speaker 1: you know what, I'm really glad I was born a
- 47:58Speaker 1: girl and sings like hmm. She smiles, and she's like,
- 48:02Speaker 1: because then I can grow up to be a foxy
- 48:04Speaker 1: lady and get married to Okamura. San Sing is like,
- 48:07Speaker 1: you big dope. By the time you're a foxy lady,
- 48:10Speaker 1: he's gonna be an old man, silly, and she says, well,
- 48:13Speaker 1: you'll be an old man too, so there. Sing's like,
- 48:16Speaker 1: let's see when you're twenty, I'm gonna be thirty. She smiles,
- 48:22Speaker 1: and he thinks that's pretty old. Well, who cares come
- 48:28Speaker 1: back to New York when you've grown up to be
- 48:29Speaker 1: a foxy lady. She thinks, of course I'm coming back,
- 48:34Speaker 1: and she says okay. At this point, Ag gets the
- 48:38Speaker 1: car with Gorby, which is some sort of large stuffed
- 48:40Speaker 1: animal thing that looks like a monster, I think, and
- 48:45Speaker 1: Sing says, okay, let's get moving. Ag. I guess he's
- 48:48Speaker 1: in the car and he says, Sing, you're still driving
- 48:50Speaker 1: this car, and Akira is like see and singh says,
- 48:55Speaker 1: leave me alone. I happen to like this car. Okay.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Ag says, you have your passport and Akira is like
- 49:02Speaker 1: uh oh, and we get a little narration here and
- 49:04Speaker 1: it says, and I'll be so foxy Sink won't know
- 49:08Speaker 1: what hit him. And that's the end. So closing thoughts.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Obviously I cried through most of that. Sorry, well, I
- 49:17Speaker 1: mean at least the end part. Yeah. So there's a
- 49:20Speaker 1: lot of stuff I want to talk about here. I'll
- 49:23Speaker 1: try to not make it super long winded or whatever.
- 49:26Speaker 1: But I like this a lot because, Hey, I really
- 49:31Speaker 1: like Akira. I like the way that this was done
- 49:35Speaker 1: from an outsider's perspective, kind of of eg's like life
- 49:39Speaker 1: and stuff, while still focusing on him. But I think
- 49:43Speaker 1: I think this is really necessary as a wrap up,
- 49:46Speaker 1: and it answers a lot of questions from what I
- 49:49Speaker 1: have heard from people about the anime. I think the
- 49:54Speaker 1: director said something like, oh, like people that asked like,
- 49:58Speaker 1: did ash die at the end, because it's you know
- 50:00Speaker 1: kind of we don't like see him die for certain
- 50:03Speaker 1: or whatever, so maybe he's alive, and the director said
- 50:06Speaker 1: something like, oh, you know, we wanted to leave it
- 50:08Speaker 1: open to interpretation. It is not open to interpretation. So
- 50:12Speaker 1: I think this was her way of saying, like, it's
- 50:14Speaker 1: not he died. This was really bad. You know, it's
- 50:18Speaker 1: obvious in the anime that he died. It's obvious in
- 50:21Speaker 1: the manga that he died. There was no salvation coming.
- 50:25Speaker 1: This is never supposed to be open ended. I read
- 50:30Speaker 1: somewhere on Wikipedia that a Kemi Yoshida had two things
- 50:35Speaker 1: that she wanted to do with this manga when she
- 50:38Speaker 1: started it, and she apparently didn't have the entire storyline done,
- 50:41Speaker 1: but she wanted it to be a romance between two
- 50:43Speaker 1: male characters, and she wanted the main character to die
- 50:47Speaker 1: at the end. So from the beginning, Ash was always
- 50:50Speaker 1: going to die, and he was always going to die.
- 50:52Speaker 1: He was always going to be killed by kind of
- 50:54Speaker 1: a lower level gang member, and she said something like
- 50:59Speaker 1: he needed to be punished for what he's done, kind
- 51:02Speaker 1: of which hurt me, like really really bad. And I
- 51:06Speaker 1: hope that if in this universe there is an afterlife,
- 51:11Speaker 1: that Ash went there and was comforted and got to
- 51:16Speaker 1: like read and be healed, because I don't think he
- 51:19Speaker 1: deserved it. Jeez, Michelle. Sorry anyway, So we got absolutely
- 51:26Speaker 1: he's dead in this and we also got another thing
- 51:30Speaker 1: that I think was really really important, because in the
- 51:34Speaker 1: anime and the manga there's never any clarification completely about
- 51:40Speaker 1: the nature of Ash and Agy's relationship. I think it's
- 51:43Speaker 1: pretty fucking clear that this is not just a friendship,
- 51:46Speaker 1: even though the only word we get for it is friends.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I think that I don't know if either of them
- 51:52Speaker 1: were comfortable calling it anything other than that, but it's
- 51:56Speaker 1: just not the same thing. And like I said, I
- 52:03Speaker 1: think when we're doing episode twenty four, like Ash was
- 52:07Speaker 1: not okay enough probably to call this anything else, but
- 52:10Speaker 1: it clearly was something else. So I love having that
- 52:15Speaker 1: kind of confirmed here, and I love having it confirmed
- 52:18Speaker 1: that the relationship wasn't sexual. I mean, I'm sure you
- 52:21Speaker 1: knew that it wasn't because there's no evidence that it was.
- 52:26Speaker 1: And if Akemi Yoshida wanted it to be, there was
- 52:28Speaker 1: plenty of rape and bana fish, there could be consensual sex.
- 52:30Speaker 1: We saw it one time already, but because this manga
- 52:37Speaker 1: anime took course over about a year and a half first,
- 52:40Speaker 1: so from eighty five to eighty seven, think the winter
- 52:43Speaker 1: of eighty seven, we didn't see everything that happened between
- 52:45Speaker 1: Ash and Agy, so it's you know, maybe stuff was
- 52:47Speaker 1: going on. So she's saying no, nothing was ever going on,
- 52:51Speaker 1: But this wasn't exactly a friendship. This was something else,
- 52:55Speaker 1: and that's kind of what I caught from it. So
- 52:57Speaker 1: I really liked seeing it confirmed. And I talked about
- 53:01Speaker 1: this in twenty four as well, about how as like
- 53:06Speaker 1: an aromatic asexual did I say aromatic? Sorry? As an
- 53:10Speaker 1: a romantic asexual, I don't really relate to romances and
- 53:18Speaker 1: relationships in media. Usually it takes a lot for me
- 53:21Speaker 1: to actually care about two characters being together or feel
- 53:25Speaker 1: like it's right, And this was a huge exception for me,
- 53:29Speaker 1: and I think probably it's because without kind of knowing it,
- 53:34Speaker 1: Aikimi Yoshida wrote, like a really convincing queer platonic relationship,
- 53:40Speaker 1: which if you don't know what it is, it gets
- 53:44Speaker 1: tossed around a lot in errow ace spaces. It's like
- 53:48Speaker 1: a it's like a non romantic, super important relationship where
- 53:53Speaker 1: it's like your life partner, but not in a romantic way,
- 53:59Speaker 1: like maybe you lived together or you consider yourselves like partners.
- 54:03Speaker 1: But it's just not a romantic and maybe not sexual relationship.
- 54:07Speaker 1: But it's not a best friend, it's not a friendship.
- 54:10Speaker 1: It's something kind of different than both of those. And
- 54:13Speaker 1: I think that that's what this was. And I just
- 54:18Speaker 1: feel so bad for a g because I get that,
- 54:26Speaker 1: I get the his his kind of grieving, that kind
- 54:30Speaker 1: of avoidance, greeving, as I guess I would call it.
- 54:32Speaker 1: He doesn't want to look at Ash's pictures and he
- 54:35Speaker 1: doesn't want to go near the library where he died.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Like that's my style of grieving. I know exactly what
- 54:42Speaker 1: that's like, to just not want to do anything with
- 54:46Speaker 1: it anymore. This is probably the most personal I'm ever
- 54:52Speaker 1: gonna get with a show with you guys, just so
- 54:55Speaker 1: you know, because this hits me so hard, just all
- 54:58Speaker 1: of it and a fish. But like, I have a
- 55:00Speaker 1: friend who died like fucking I don't know, seven years
- 55:05Speaker 1: ago now, and I still can't listen to his music,
- 55:09Speaker 1: Like I can't listen to it a little bit, but
- 55:13Speaker 1: not really. It just hurts. So I get it then
- 55:18Speaker 1: it but it sucks because like they both loved each
- 55:23Speaker 1: other so much, so not seeing him, not looking at
- 55:29Speaker 1: his pictures is also gotta be really painful, because grief
- 55:36Speaker 1: doesn't go away just because you avoid it, you know.
- 55:39Speaker 1: And ag is right sings a little bit off bass
- 55:43Speaker 1: talking about like him getting over Ash. You don't get
- 55:46Speaker 1: over something like that. It doesn't even get smaller. It's
- 55:51Speaker 1: just that the more experienced in life than you have,
- 55:56Speaker 1: the bigger the experience kind of palettes that you have
- 56:00Speaker 1: is so the smaller things appear in comparison, you know,
- 56:03Speaker 1: like for instance, with this Ash died when AG was twenty, right,
- 56:09Speaker 1: and now he's twenty eight, so he has eight more
- 56:11Speaker 1: years of people and experiences that just kind of are
- 56:16Speaker 1: filling in and making that space of experience bigger. So
- 56:21Speaker 1: Ash is still there as big as he always was,
- 56:23Speaker 1: but now there's more and all that stuff with like
- 56:27Speaker 1: the dual sides of New York City and the light
- 56:32Speaker 1: in the darkness, and how he loves it all and
- 56:35Speaker 1: how that's all just relating back to Ash and how
- 56:38Speaker 1: he loved all of him, and how like sweet and
- 56:42Speaker 1: good of a person Ag is still and he wants
- 56:44Speaker 1: to help people. It's just really beautiful, and I feel
- 56:50Speaker 1: horrible that he had to go through all of this
- 56:52Speaker 1: and who really did change the course of his life.
- 56:55Speaker 1: I really do think that being back in New York
- 56:58Speaker 1: City is the only thing he could do to feel
- 56:59Speaker 1: close to Ash, you know, because New York City like
- 57:03Speaker 1: is him the kind of ambrasiveness and a scum of
- 57:08Speaker 1: the city and also just the kindest and I mean, yeah,
- 57:16Speaker 1: I love that age He's still just the sweet, sweet kid.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Even after everything, he still wants to help and as
- 57:27Speaker 1: for what's going on with sing part of me when
- 57:31Speaker 1: I was reading this, I was thinking, do Sing like
- 57:33Speaker 1: like Ag, like, is he into him? I kind of
- 57:37Speaker 1: don't think so. I think if I'm remembering correctly, and
- 57:40Speaker 1: I might not be, I think I'm in New York sense,
- 57:45Speaker 1: which is AG's quote unquote photographs of New York, some
- 57:50Speaker 1: of which are ash and some of which are taken later.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure like Sing might get married. I think
- 57:55Speaker 1: Singh just felt this horrible, horrible obligation to protect and
- 58:00Speaker 1: age after all of the trauma that he caused. And
- 58:03Speaker 1: of course it wasn't all things fault and it was,
- 58:06Speaker 1: you know, it was really nobody's fault in everybody's fault
- 58:09Speaker 1: kind of deal. Like they're both right. Had he never
- 58:13Speaker 1: gotten the note, he probably wouldn't have died then. But
- 58:17Speaker 1: he needed that note, you know, like, and you can't
- 58:21Speaker 1: you can't know what any of your decisions, especially the
- 58:24Speaker 1: ones that are supposed to be positive, are gonna bring,
- 58:26Speaker 1: you know. So it does hurt that they both feel
- 58:31Speaker 1: like they're responsible. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, that's
- 58:35Speaker 1: really all I want to say. I think, And I
- 58:38Speaker 1: know I said this in twenty four that I just
- 58:41Speaker 1: want to say again, like your importance. You know, you
- 58:45Speaker 1: really are and there are probably really good things about you,
- 58:50Speaker 1: and there are probably things that you, you know, wish
- 58:53Speaker 1: were different, but you absolutely deserve to be accepted. She
- 59:00Speaker 1: didn't know that, which you probably did, right, Maybe I
- 59:04Speaker 1: need to hear that. Maybe that's why I'm saying it anyway. Yeah,
- 59:12Speaker 1: that was rough for me. That was really rough. Anyway,
- 59:15Speaker 1: I think that's really all I need to say about this.
- 59:17Speaker 1: So next week might be the last week of Banana Fish.
- 59:20Speaker 1: I'm thinking of after that, doing one more week where
- 59:24Speaker 1: I talked to my friend who I forced to watch it,
- 59:27Speaker 1: and he tells me about things that he felt about
- 59:30Speaker 1: it that probably will hurt me and make me upset
- 59:32Speaker 1: because I don't think he feels exactly the same way
- 59:35Speaker 1: as I do. I mean, not this amount of sadness
- 59:38Speaker 1: at least, So I don't know if I'm gonna do that,
- 59:40Speaker 1: but I might. But the last manga thing we're doing
- 59:43Speaker 1: is gonna be next week, and that is private opinion,
- 59:47Speaker 1: which takes place in the past. Again, so maybe crying,
- 59:51Speaker 1: maybe not crying, I'm not sure. And it doesn't exist
- 59:55Speaker 1: in print in the US. There's only a fan translation,
- 59:58Speaker 1: and you can find it online. They're like really good,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: kind of like pirate manga sites. When I was looking,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: didn't have most of Banana Fish. They do have Private
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Opinion and then some of the other things that we're
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: not gonna cover because we just can't keep going forever.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: So you can find it online Private Opinion. It's fan translated,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: and it is the last thing I want to show you,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I guess, and it's real fucked up, because of course
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: it is. So yeah, So we'll do that next week
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: and that'll either be it or it won't be it,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: and then I'll probably take like two weeks off, I think,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: And then I think we're gonna do eighty six, at
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: least the first core of eighty six. We might do
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: all twenty six episodes. Trying to decide because they kind
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: of want to cover the Summer Hikadu Died, which airs
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: in the summer, which is nice, which is a horror
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: kind of boys love manga that's being adapted. So there's
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: a chance we will do the first core of eighty six,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: take a break, do Summer Hikatu Died, and then go
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: back into eighty six. But I'm not sure yet. But
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I am sure we're doing eighty six because I want
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: to cry some more. And yeah, I'm not gonna cry
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: like I cried for Banana Fish, because honestly, I don't
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: think I'm ever gonna cry about media quite the same way.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I haven't in my entire life, so but I probably
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: will cry a little bit. And I do really like
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: the main character, so I'll be all weird about him,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: but not this weird, but a little weird. So that
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: is it for now. I'm gonna go get fucking allergy
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: tested and find out what the fuck is wrong with me.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: And I hope you have a really good whatever, because
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: you fucking deserve it, you nice, good human who is
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: a combination of good and bad. And I will talk
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: to you next week, probably unless we're dead anyway. Later
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: we
