- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a homework review podcast. I'm
- 0:14Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm
- 0:16Speaker 1: a former Hallmark hater. On today's episode, we're discussing Best Served,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Cold Day, Hannah Swinson Mystery, which originally premiered on the
- 0:23Speaker 1: Hallmark Channel on Saturday May sixteenth, twenty twenty six, and
- 0:27Speaker 1: is currently available to stream on Hallmark Plus. Wendy guess
- 0:30Speaker 1: what what. The Canadians have heard our cry for new
- 0:34Speaker 1: podcast reviews, and we have one from care Bears one
- 0:38Speaker 1: okay title, awesome podcast, three exclamation points. This Canadian absolutely
- 0:43Speaker 1: loves your podcast. I find them incredibly authentic. I'm the
- 0:47Speaker 1: only person in my life that watches Hallmark content and
- 0:49Speaker 1: I have no one to talk about it with. Girls
- 0:52Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark is one of my favorite podcasts. Note for
- 0:56Speaker 1: the audio, favorite is spelled Favoh you are brings me
- 1:01Speaker 1: a lot of joy. I especially love your coverage of
- 1:03Speaker 1: the Way Home and all of your thoughts and opinions
- 1:06Speaker 1: on that amazing show. That's amazing. Thank you so much
- 1:11Speaker 1: for your review, boosting those Canada ratings, bumping the negatives.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Let's do it out of you. You know what's funny
- 1:19Speaker 1: is there is such a recurring theme about like I
- 1:23Speaker 1: watch Hallmark and have no one to talk about it too,
- 1:26Speaker 1: like my wife. Hey, we're here for sure, so come
- 1:29Speaker 1: talk to us. That's right, come talk to And if

- 1:39Speaker 1: about it. Just starts. Girls got on Hallmark on Facebook.
- 1:42Speaker 1: You can also find it linked in the show notes
- 1:44Speaker 1: of this episode. Hey, Wendy, you want to hit us
- 1:47Speaker 1: with a synopsis of Best Served Cold before I do? Oh?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Can I ask you a question? Yes, in this movie
- 1:55Speaker 1: they're selling fake coins? Right? Uh? Yes? Would you call
- 2:00Speaker 1: that forgery? Is that what they call it in the movie? Well,
- 2:05Speaker 1: I guess not fraud. I would say fraudulent. Yeah, okay.
- 2:10Speaker 1: From Hallmark's website. When a suspect in a forgery case
- 2:14Speaker 1: is murdered and the prosecutor goes missing, Hammah and Chad
- 2:18Speaker 1: must uncover how the two cases are connected and solve
- 2:21Speaker 1: them in time for the trial. Did you look up forgery? Like?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Does it is that the correct crime? When it comes
- 2:29Speaker 1: to I didn't thank you for calling me out, No,
- 2:34Speaker 1: why wouldn't use that word? It says fake coins are
- 2:38Speaker 1: indeed forgery. Okay, when not been referred to as counterfeit coins,
- 2:42Speaker 1: which works better for me. Yeah, I think counterfeit is
- 2:45Speaker 1: a better descriptor. But you know, when I read it,
- 2:48Speaker 1: I was like forgery. Did the they're not faking the
- 2:51Speaker 1: Declaration of Independence? Yeah? Exactly. Well. Running this movie we
- 2:56Speaker 1: have Peter Benson returning after Sugar Advice as director of
- 3:00Speaker 1: Best Served Cold. The script was written by Alison Sweeney.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Is ma'am. She's done several she has the last movies right,
- 3:09Speaker 1: so this is now her her franchise. It me seems
- 3:12Speaker 1: that way. Obviously. The books are based on novels by
- 3:17Speaker 1: Joanna Fluke. Yeah, this one is based on Triple Chocolate
- 3:20Speaker 1: Cheesecake Murder. I saw that title when I was watching
- 3:23Speaker 1: the movie. Yeah, speaking of that cheesecake, you look good.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I've never watched a Hannah Swinston movie and go hmmm,
- 3:33Speaker 1: that looks good. But sometime about that chocolate cheesecake was
- 3:36Speaker 1: doing it for me. It looks FANTASTICVE been thinking about
- 3:38Speaker 1: cheesecake factory. Do they have a chocolate cheesecake there that
- 3:41Speaker 1: I need to they absolutely do yash. Oh my gosh, yes,
- 3:47Speaker 1: I ordered us now I didn't. Yeah, chocolate. Can you
- 3:49Speaker 1: door dash a slice of cheesecake? Or do you have
- 3:52Speaker 1: to door dash an entire cheesecake? Let's look for thirty
- 3:55Speaker 1: seven dollars in delivery fees. Let's look. Eh, I'm dying
- 3:59Speaker 1: to know what what it is? I don't see a
- 4:01Speaker 1: chocolate one. Oh, there it is. Oh, they have a
- 4:03Speaker 1: good day of a chocolate cheesecake. It's flowerless? Is that
- 4:07Speaker 1: what a flowerless cheese? Aren't aren't all cheesecakes flowerless? I? Oh,
- 4:11Speaker 1: maybe that Maybe the gram cracker crust isn't flowerless or
- 4:14Speaker 1: the Yeah, oh, they have a chocolate moose cheesecake. So
- 4:18Speaker 1: it's twelve ninety five per slice? Per slice, hold on,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I'm scared it would be twenty one ninety four. It's
- 4:26Speaker 1: a five dollars delivery fee. So twenty one dollar slice
- 4:30Speaker 1: of cheesecake is yauser's plus tip? You gotta tip them.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Let me delete this so it doesn't get added to
- 4:36Speaker 1: my next I mean, might not be a terrible terrible accident. No,
- 4:41Speaker 1: not a terrible accident. Hey, Wendy, what was your first
- 4:44Speaker 1: impression of best Sert's called h You know what they say,
- 4:47Speaker 1: daughters eventually become their mothers. Oh, my first impression is
- 4:51Speaker 1: a double mystery. Left me doubly confused with this addition
- 4:54Speaker 1: to Pannis Wins and makes me think we might not
- 4:56Speaker 1: be done with our Lake Eden crew just yet. I
- 5:00Speaker 1: lot to talk about. I love your first impression. I
- 5:02Speaker 1: want to talk about the dueling storyline. It's really well.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It does come up in my legs, but I'll get
- 5:10Speaker 1: to it. Can I start, Yeah, let's talk what we
- 5:13Speaker 1: liked well. I want to talk about my first impression.
- 5:17Speaker 1: This was the first time that I noticed that Hannah
- 5:22Speaker 1: is slowly turning into Dolores. Tell memore Dolores with an E.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Did you catch that in her? I love Barbara Nevan
- 5:29Speaker 1: so much. I feel like they're starting to mirror each
- 5:34Speaker 1: other in very tiny ways, like reactions, interpretations. They both
- 5:40Speaker 1: spiral into theories. I thought it was quite obvious in
- 5:44Speaker 1: this movie that it's happening interesting. I would need to
- 5:47Speaker 1: rewatch with that lens. What I think is really funny
- 5:50Speaker 1: about it is because Hannah has been so annoyed by
- 5:53Speaker 1: Dolores for many, many years, and now like she's slowly
- 5:58Speaker 1: like evolving in into a more restrained version of Dolores
- 6:02Speaker 1: or magic to her method. Perhaps there's something happening there.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I just think it's funny. Please watch it from that lie,
- 6:09Speaker 1: I will Wow. Well, we asked last episode for them
- 6:13Speaker 1: to speed things up in the Hannah and Chad department. Yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 1: and they did, in my opinion, not the way that
- 6:19Speaker 1: I had been hoping for and anticipating I wanted to see.
- 6:24Speaker 1: The last movie was a very tentative and timid relationship.
- 6:27Speaker 1: He likes me. They weren't really sure of each other.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It felt like every moment was not a given, like
- 6:34Speaker 1: Oh he's gonna ask me out, Oh he's gonna kiss.
- 6:36Speaker 1: They weren't in a relationshippy place in this movie. They
- 6:41Speaker 1: are in a very comfortable relationshippy place situationship, says the sister. Yes,
- 6:48Speaker 1: that is later in my notes, but for me, we
- 6:51Speaker 1: kind of skipped over, and I'm okay with this. We
- 6:53Speaker 1: kind of skipped over that, like swoony, all in phase between,
- 6:58Speaker 1: like oh, maybe he likes me. Oh this is my
- 7:02Speaker 1: plans for Friday Night. We did need to speed it
- 7:05Speaker 1: up a little bit, And I'm glad. There's really no question.
- 7:08Speaker 1: It's not like, oh, is he gonna ask me out
- 7:10Speaker 1: this is my guy. Yeah, I'm not quite there yet.
- 7:12Speaker 1: It's in my wishes, but I hear you're not quite
- 7:15Speaker 1: there yet. Even after Dolores says that's why we love
- 7:18Speaker 1: her and Chad says, yes, we do, that's in my likes. Okay,
- 7:24Speaker 1: those scenes work for me. The two scenes that really
- 7:26Speaker 1: worked for me are when Hannah and Chad had the
- 7:29Speaker 1: conversation about his mom at the end. Yes, I thought
- 7:32Speaker 1: that was a really nice intimate scene that these two had,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and it lands for me. But then also I was like,
- 7:42Speaker 1: Hannah doesn't know anything about his mom at this point,
- 7:46Speaker 1: like nothing. And then when Delores casually says like we
- 7:49Speaker 1: all love Hannah or whatever the line is, and he agrees,
- 7:52Speaker 1: and then Hannah clocks it, which you can see your
- 7:55Speaker 1: face like, I love that. It was a tiny effective moment.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I have some wishes. Okay. On the topic of Chad's mom. Yes,
- 8:04Speaker 1: I had written in my notes Chad's refusal to even
- 8:07Speaker 1: try one of Hannah's baked goods is getting irritating at
- 8:10Speaker 1: this point. Yeah, I hadn't even noticed it had it
- 8:14Speaker 1: happened in other previous yeas he's never every time he's like, no,
- 8:17Speaker 1: I don't. I don't do that. I was like carb
- 8:20Speaker 1: conscious or something, you know, And that's the thing. It
- 8:23Speaker 1: pays off. Of course we get that lovely moment, and
- 8:25Speaker 1: so I'm sorry for the things that I said. But
- 8:28Speaker 1: up until that moment, I was like, come on, man,
- 8:30Speaker 1: eat a piece of a cookie, for goodness sakes. Your
- 8:33Speaker 1: girlfriend is now I understand. I get it might be
- 8:37Speaker 1: a little bit. My mom used to bake, so I
- 8:39Speaker 1: can't ever eat a baked good might be a bit
- 8:41Speaker 1: of a stretch. What if my mom used to do
- 8:42Speaker 1: my hair Now I can't brush it, and now I
- 8:44Speaker 1: can't you know I can't brush it? Yes, Like it's
- 8:48Speaker 1: kind of a weird stretch. I thought it was a
- 8:51Speaker 1: nice moment, nonetheless, and I'm glad that all of the
- 8:55Speaker 1: repeated I'm sure you don't want to try it and
- 8:57Speaker 1: him declining was going somewhere than't just this personality quirk
- 9:02Speaker 1: that they had built in, And who knows what the
- 9:04Speaker 1: original endgame of that was, Like, was it just like, oh,
- 9:08Speaker 1: how frustrating it would be to be this baker and
- 9:10Speaker 1: my boyfriend is like, nah, I'm not a sweet skuy. Yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 1: I'd be super frustrating. So Hannah has a lot of patience.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I'd be like, w twof eat the damn cookie man. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:21Speaker 1: this was my favorite thing about the episode was the
- 9:24Speaker 1: courtroom ankle. Oh me too. I think it's a super
- 9:31Speaker 1: freshened up way to handle this franchise. Now I'm over
- 9:37Speaker 1: Hannah being like this amateur detective. I know that's what
- 9:42Speaker 1: the franchise is built on. I get it, we need more,
- 9:46Speaker 1: but like every time she's in some sort of situation
- 9:50Speaker 1: or stumbles upon something or like, it's too much. I
- 9:56Speaker 1: love the courtroom, seeing Chat put together his trial and
- 10:02Speaker 1: like all that stuff, and I was wondering. I was like,
- 10:05Speaker 1: has there ever there must have been like some sort
- 10:08Speaker 1: of courtroom franchise for homework, right, yes, maybe Darrow and Darrow,
- 10:13Speaker 1: because that feels like a lawyer title. Oh with Darrow
- 10:16Speaker 1: and Darrow, Homer, I don't we have this question? All
- 10:18Speaker 1: that I don't know. I don't know is the answer
- 10:20Speaker 1: to that question. But surely there would have had to
- 10:23Speaker 1: have been. Would you like if this franchise transitioned more
- 10:27Speaker 1: into that. Maybe that is the thing, like you said,
- 10:32Speaker 1: I liked as much, if not more than the Hannah
- 10:35Speaker 1: and Chad stuff. Was Chad actually getting to be a lawyer,
- 10:37Speaker 1: not only because I liked the courtroom side of it,
- 10:40Speaker 1: and they have this whole backstory of the lawyer and
- 10:43Speaker 1: the rocket docket, like he likes to rush the things.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I like that they set that up very nicely. I
- 10:48Speaker 1: like courtroom drama situations. It was drama light obviously, Yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 1: but I thought it was fun and I have a
- 10:54Speaker 1: thought on one of those courtroom scenes. But also I
- 10:57Speaker 1: think it makes so much more sense for Chad to
- 10:59Speaker 1: be being a lawyer than Chad to be being an
- 11:01Speaker 1: amateur detective. Chad's not a detective, yes, And I think
- 11:04Speaker 1: it was nice Lonnie's back and then rather than working
- 11:08Speaker 1: alongside the sheriff, he's working in tandem with the sheriff
- 11:12Speaker 1: doing his job, but the sheriff and Lonnie and Hannah
- 11:15Speaker 1: are the ones doing the investigating. Yes, And so I
- 11:21Speaker 1: liked that reimagining of this show. I hope they continue
- 11:24Speaker 1: to chands me. How many of these movies we've never
- 11:27Speaker 1: seen him in court for maybe at least at least
- 11:31Speaker 1: Did you like anything else? Yeah? I do. This episode,
- 11:34Speaker 1: this installment was giving dateline energy to me. Of course,
- 11:38Speaker 1: it's the spouse who did it? Sure, I thought it
- 11:41Speaker 1: was obvious, but I liked it also, Okay, I want
- 11:45Speaker 1: to talk about the overlapping stories. Yes, I did like it.
- 11:49Speaker 1: It did get a little tangled at times, absolutely, But
- 11:53Speaker 1: what I appreciated is that the movie acknowledges that confusion
- 11:58Speaker 1: as the viewer, because we have Michelle, and we get
- 12:04Speaker 1: some clarification through Michelle and Lisa, who asks these questions.
- 12:09Speaker 1: They're like, wait, who is that? Wait? I thought you
- 12:11Speaker 1: were investigating. I thought you were investigating so and so. Right,
- 12:15Speaker 1: So we get some sort of like answers here in
- 12:19Speaker 1: terms of like who belongs to who and what is what?
- 12:21Speaker 1: But it was still confusing. Oh, it was very confusing
- 12:24Speaker 1: to me. And did you happen to see the post
- 12:28Speaker 1: from Alexandra Clark last night, show runner for The Way Home. No,
- 12:32Speaker 1: I have a point here, don't worry. I'm on track.
- 12:34Speaker 1: She said. Last night was the premiere of episode five,
- 12:38Speaker 1: and she said, here's my advice for ponderers, which is
- 12:41Speaker 1: what they call watchers in the Way Home, is enjoy
- 12:43Speaker 1: the ride instead of and I'm paraphrasing obviously, but she
- 12:46Speaker 1: was saying, instead of trying to solve every mystery, she's
- 12:49Speaker 1: talking to us. Well, I think in the fandom, especially
- 12:53Speaker 1: if you look at any of the Facebook groups, people
- 12:54Speaker 1: are asking so many questions and some people are frustrated
- 12:56Speaker 1: by it. And we've expressed a little bit of frustration
- 12:58Speaker 1: with it. And I even said in the episode that
- 13:01Speaker 1: came out yesterday, as this episode comes out, I need
- 13:05Speaker 1: to stop trying to solve every mystery and just enjoy
- 13:07Speaker 1: it for what it is. Because some other shows I
- 13:09Speaker 1: am able to do that, but I feel like, as
- 13:12Speaker 1: someone who covers a show, I need to have all
- 13:13Speaker 1: the answers and they don't. So anyway, her point was
- 13:15Speaker 1: just enjoy the ride, and I was trying to apply
- 13:19Speaker 1: that logic to this movie as well. Rarely am I
- 13:22Speaker 1: going to solve the mystery. Rarely do I even have
- 13:24Speaker 1: enough information to solve the mystery. They haven't given it
- 13:26Speaker 1: to us. That's not good storytelling. They dole it out. Oh,
- 13:29Speaker 1: here's this new piece of information. Let me work backwards
- 13:31Speaker 1: from that. And so I was trying to enjoy the
- 13:33Speaker 1: ride of watching how they pieced it all together instead
- 13:37Speaker 1: of trying to make all of the building blocks fit together.
- 13:41Speaker 1: In my head, that makes sense, because otherwise it was
- 13:43Speaker 1: too confusing. Yes, I have one more like okay. In
- 13:47Speaker 1: terms of the writing, you mentioned situationship. I thought the
- 13:50Speaker 1: writing was great in this movie. I thought it was
- 13:52Speaker 1: the most fresh writing we've seen on a Hannah s
- 13:55Speaker 1: Winson's script. We hear the phrase all the good teas here,
- 14:00Speaker 1: we hear them say situationship, they say preach at one point.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I thought it was fun and fresh and snappy and enjoyable.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I thought a lot of good lines came from Dolores,
- 14:11Speaker 1: and they all happened in one scene when they come
- 14:13Speaker 1: across that dead body in the cigar shop, and one
- 14:16Speaker 1: she tells Hannah not to worry because it gives you
- 14:18Speaker 1: the eleven Yes, so I did to see that. Oh sorry, no, no, no,
- 14:22Speaker 1: and then she's like, it's never a mannequin. I thought
- 14:25Speaker 1: that was very funny, very very very funny. I never
- 14:30Speaker 1: get mad. It gives me the elevens. Great. Yeah, great.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Let's take a break and we'll come right back to
- 14:34Speaker 1: talk about our wishes. All right, Wendy, what did you
- 14:45Speaker 1: wish for? Well, my number one biggest wish was that
- 14:50Speaker 1: we still desperately need romance between Hannah and Chad. Interesting,
- 14:54Speaker 1: this is where I'm at the movie wants us to
- 14:58Speaker 1: believe that this relationship is headed towards love, but we
- 15:03Speaker 1: barely see them together outside of investigation. Like there scenes
- 15:09Speaker 1: feel very transactional to me, even at dinner. They go
- 15:14Speaker 1: to dinner several times, I know, but they're always talking
- 15:16Speaker 1: about the case. They're yes, they are uncovering clues for
- 15:21Speaker 1: the case. They're talking about the case the other scenes
- 15:23Speaker 1: like Chad stopping by the bakery, Hannah's feeding Chad, Hannah's
- 15:27Speaker 1: giving Chad coffee, like it's very like back and forth
- 15:31Speaker 1: like that, Like they're never like there's never, he doesn't.
- 15:35Speaker 1: They don't go out, they don't spend time together where
- 15:38Speaker 1: they're not talking about whatever is happening in Lake Eden
- 15:43Speaker 1: at that time. Yes, yes, so I just need I
- 15:47Speaker 1: need one more step to believe that there's some sort
- 15:52Speaker 1: of chemistry happening between Did you catch Chad when she
- 15:56Speaker 1: comes into the courtroom and she's in her golf gear, yes,
- 16:00Speaker 1: her golf cosplay. He like gave like a like yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 1: She's like sorry I was, and he's like you look great. Yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I thought that was very cute. I thought it was
- 16:08Speaker 1: very cute too, And which leads to my next which
- 16:12Speaker 1: side note is Victor Webster needs to be in a
- 16:14Speaker 1: Hallmark romance immediately. Where has this man been on Hallmark? Yeah,
- 16:19Speaker 1: he hasn't been in a Christmas movie. I don't really
- 16:22Speaker 1: particularly want him, not him. I don't need a Christmas
- 16:25Speaker 1: movie right now. I just need I need a Summer
- 16:27Speaker 1: Villa Part two, Summervilla. You know, put him in a
- 16:32Speaker 1: Jeff Beasley movie. Oh, that's an interesting take. Why Jeff Beasley?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Just because Jeff was in URDMS recently talking about a
- 16:39Speaker 1: couple of the projects he has coming up, and I
- 16:42Speaker 1: always love a Jeff Beasley movie. Did he give any
- 16:45Speaker 1: tea on what he was working? He did, but I
- 16:47Speaker 1: don't know if it's for public consumption. He didn't name
- 16:50Speaker 1: titles or anything. Just like a movie in this genre
- 16:54Speaker 1: and a movie in this season. Basically, you're gonna have
- 16:57Speaker 1: to tell me. I will for the listeners. I think
- 16:59Speaker 1: this is valuable. We had posted how much we love
- 17:01Speaker 1: Melissa Peterman and all Sparah and love and Majahn. Wendy
- 17:05Speaker 1: went on this whole thing about how give this woman
- 17:06Speaker 1: a comedy series? And so he dropped into our damn saying, like,
- 17:10Speaker 1: by the way, I've worked with her and she is
- 17:12Speaker 1: as funny and as lovely as you think she is,
- 17:15Speaker 1: which was so nice, and then I said, we can't
- 17:17Speaker 1: wait to see what you're working on, and that's when
- 17:18Speaker 1: he dropped the I have this in this coming, but
- 17:20Speaker 1: no titles, no actors from nothing. Don't worry, Hallmark, He's
- 17:23Speaker 1: not given away the stuff. I have a few other wishes,
- 17:26Speaker 1: but let me hear what you got. Mine are very basic.
- 17:29Speaker 1: When we have a long running series like this, we've
- 17:31Speaker 1: introduced and let go of a lot of characters. Norman.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Norman's just fallen off the planet and he was Hannah's
- 17:36Speaker 1: best friend. I think to even let it go without
- 17:39Speaker 1: a mention is a little bit criminal. And I know
- 17:42Speaker 1: that these are the sacrifices that we make in terms
- 17:44Speaker 1: of budget. Norman can't be there because sister Michelle is there,
- 17:49Speaker 1: and Norman can't be there because Lonnie's back. We can't
- 17:51Speaker 1: have all of these characters. I do understand that, and
- 17:55Speaker 1: I think that's the only real explanation for it, because
- 17:58Speaker 1: I do think Norman could operate as part of this
- 18:01Speaker 1: crew seamlessly, easily. Totally. We have True Justice coming. That
- 18:06Speaker 1: is a collaboration of characters that all have their role
- 18:10Speaker 1: in solving these crimes. So he's missed, as is sister Andrea.
- 18:15Speaker 1: That was a real Easter egg to fans of like
- 18:17Speaker 1: Murder She Baked, And then we have Hannah s Wentz in.
- 18:19Speaker 1: One sister was in one series. One sister was in
- 18:21Speaker 1: the other. Now we have both. It's just jarring as viewers.
- 18:25Speaker 1: It's distracting to me because I'm thinking, like, where's Andrea?
- 18:28Speaker 1: Are they going to say anything about Andrea? What can
- 18:30Speaker 1: and in like no one throwaway line? Yeah, in the Latin,
- 18:35Speaker 1: I know in previous movies they've said like, oh Andrea
- 18:37Speaker 1: is off doing this. Okay, I just they're missed to me.
- 18:42Speaker 1: The other wish's not really a wish, but something I
- 18:44Speaker 1: noticed in this episode this installment is Hannah does her
- 18:48Speaker 1: own deliveries. Yeah. I find that odd. The only reason
- 18:52Speaker 1: it works is because every time she does a delivery,
- 18:54Speaker 1: she's cashing in on new information about a crime. Otherwise,
- 18:57Speaker 1: it makes no sense for the proprietor proprietress of this
- 19:01Speaker 1: bakery to be doing her own deliveries. She would have
- 19:04Speaker 1: a delivery person, sure, she would be the one in
- 19:08Speaker 1: charge unless she's like, I got to get out of here.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I need a drive and an iced coffee, you know,
- 19:15Speaker 1: some podcast time in the car to listen to my
- 19:21Speaker 1: favorite murder. Oh my god, that's hilarious. Wouldn't it be
- 19:25Speaker 1: funny if if Hannah became a true crime podcaster? Why
- 19:29Speaker 1: don't we have a mystery series with true crime podcast
- 19:34Speaker 1: I know a lot of times those people end up
- 19:36Speaker 1: cracking the case. I know that would be incredible. Actually,
- 19:40Speaker 1: I think it should be a TV series where they're
- 19:42Speaker 1: like cracking the case over a series of episodes. Oh,
- 19:44Speaker 1: that would be like a great case each season. L
- 19:48Speaker 1: sics episode. That's amazing. I want ep credit on that one. Yeah,
- 19:52Speaker 1: Mark Kim Cooperis could write it. Ken Cooper's could write it.
- 19:56Speaker 1: You know, we didn't talk about this apologies for the tangent.
- 19:59Speaker 1: In episode seven of Hope Valley eighteen seventy four, you
- 20:03Speaker 1: commented Ken Cooperris is on the case, and then in
- 20:06Speaker 1: episode eight we did get a little bit of a mystery.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Do you think that was Ken Cooperris's hand. We didn't
- 20:10Speaker 1: mention it in episode eight. I do. Yeah. I think
- 20:13Speaker 1: they need they need something on that show to make
- 20:16Speaker 1: it a little mysterious. I'm sure I don't know, because
- 20:19Speaker 1: we don't watch one calls the Heart and that's the
- 20:21Speaker 1: same writer and creator over there. Do they have mysteries?
- 20:27Speaker 1: We don't know. I don't know. They must write I don't.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I don't. Actually I have no idea. I have no idea.
- 20:33Speaker 1: You touch on all my other little additional wishes, Norman
- 20:37Speaker 1: being like, I don't need Norman to be in a
- 20:39Speaker 1: Hannah Chad triangle like that has been played out over
- 20:43Speaker 1: the years with Mike who was there before, but Norman
- 20:47Speaker 1: was Mike Cameron Matheson. Yes, Norman just needs to be present.
- 20:52Speaker 1: He is the fabric of Lake Eden. Why is he
- 20:55Speaker 1: not coming in for a coffee? He can't just pop
- 20:58Speaker 1: in and be like, yo, how's it going? Exactly? Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 1: it can be there alongside Dolores and Michelle. Let's talk.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Did you see that? I have several Okay, my first
- 21:08Speaker 1: one is, you know, I love a good murder board.
- 21:10Speaker 1: But Hannah has a murder board hanging on the refrigerator
- 21:14Speaker 1: of the cookie jar, and it is open concept. Everyone
- 21:17Speaker 1: can switch. I love the cookie jar, like I love
- 21:20Speaker 1: whoever's created that set or whatever, because like the open
- 21:24Speaker 1: baking kitchen is a really cool concept. But she's got
- 21:27Speaker 1: this huge refrigerator with a freaking murder board on it,
- 21:30Speaker 1: and just customer coming in getting their cinnamon roll in
- 21:33Speaker 1: the morning is gonna be like, what's happening here? What's
- 21:35Speaker 1: going on? Yeah? Someone who doesn't know that Hannah is
- 21:37Speaker 1: the town crime salver. Crazy to me crazy, my other one,
- 21:43Speaker 1: I have a couple. Food was mentioned a lot in
- 21:45Speaker 1: this episode. Yeah, and I don't know if it was
- 21:48Speaker 1: just because I'm was hungry, but we have like Hannah
- 21:51Speaker 1: mentions Dolores's pot roast. I was like, pot roast. That
- 21:55Speaker 1: sounds good. Do I need to make a pot roast
- 21:57Speaker 1: this week? That sounds amazing? Right? They had meat? Would
- 22:00Speaker 1: your family eat pot roast? Yeah? Okay, yeah for sure.
- 22:05Speaker 1: They made those little mini meat loafs. That's a hit
- 22:09Speaker 1: in my house. Gonna make meat loaf muffins. Everyone goes
- 22:12Speaker 1: crazy for them. Here's my true Did you see that
- 22:15Speaker 1: they were eating potato chips with the meat loaf? Did
- 22:17Speaker 1: you notice this? I did. Hannah got up from the
- 22:20Speaker 1: table to go get a bowl off the counter and
- 22:22Speaker 1: comes back and it's potato chips, and then I see
- 22:26Speaker 1: on and everybody takes some. And then I see on
- 22:29Speaker 1: Hannah's plate she has laid one potato chip on top
- 22:33Speaker 1: of the mini muffin meat loaf muffin, And I was like,
- 22:36Speaker 1: is this like a Minnesota thing? Because the show takes
- 22:38Speaker 1: place in Minnesota. Is this like a Midwest thing you eat?
- 22:42Speaker 1: Is Minnesota in the Midwest geography is not? Like I think?
- 22:46Speaker 1: So anyway? Would you eat potato chips? Look? It sounds
- 22:50Speaker 1: delicious to me? So I'm like, am I am I
- 22:52Speaker 1: missing something there? Like we would eat meat loaf and
- 22:55Speaker 1: mashed potatoes together. I kind of like the texture situation
- 22:59Speaker 1: going on there. Yeah, a kettle chip. They were ridged
- 23:03Speaker 1: potato chips, like a ruffle thicker, like a kettle with ridges. Yes,
- 23:09Speaker 1: kind of sounds good for like a summer meal, doesn't it.
- 23:11Speaker 1: You're not eating like a heavy mashed potato. Yes, I
- 23:16Speaker 1: don't hate it. I think I'm gonna make them this week.
- 23:20Speaker 1: This week your Hanna sleins in meal. And then there
- 23:22Speaker 1: was another cookie that was mentioned, and it's driving me crazy.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I did not want to go back and watch the episode.
- 23:28Speaker 1: But if there is any listeners, Hannah mentions a cookie.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I had to look it up and have like a
- 23:34Speaker 1: wacky name. I think it started with a W. I
- 23:37Speaker 1: looked it up. It looked like a lemon crinkle cookie,
- 23:40Speaker 1: but she called it something specific. I kind of know
- 23:43Speaker 1: what you're talking about, whipper snappers? That was it a
- 23:46Speaker 1: whipper snapper? Is it lemon crinkle dish? Yeah, Hannah's here's
- 23:50Speaker 1: a recipe for it. It's four ingredients. Oh my god,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I think I might mix cool whip an egg powdered sugar.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Doesn't it sound so good? Yeah, that's why Hannah's making
- 24:00Speaker 1: out a bakery a four ingredients. Probably not, but this
- 24:03Speaker 1: is the AI over you, and it says Hannah Swinson's
- 24:06Speaker 1: lemon whipper snapper hold down in Texas. Oh, I see
- 24:08Speaker 1: red velvet whipper Snapper cookies by Joanna Fluke. Yeah she
- 24:13Speaker 1: is Joanna Fluke, the writer, also a baker. I assume
- 24:18Speaker 1: that there's recipes in her Joanna Fluke's. Well, there we go.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I kind of want to make a lemon whipper snapper,
- 24:25Speaker 1: me too. You could sub it for any cake mix
- 24:29Speaker 1: a chocolate whipper snapper. H is a fun stetti whipper snapper.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Love that idea? All right? Here? Am I? Did you
- 24:37Speaker 1: see that when they go to the cigar shop the
- 24:40Speaker 1: Laura's pronounced it cigars. Yes, I noticed. And when Hannah
- 24:44Speaker 1: is down by the water looking for Lucas. She calls
- 24:45Speaker 1: Chad and she's like, I found something near the lake, ma'am.
- 24:48Speaker 1: That's a river. Like, there's not the guy's fishing over
- 24:54Speaker 1: a river where you found the computer. That's a river.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Perhaps it's a tributary of the lake. I don't know,
- 24:59Speaker 1: but you are not on a lake. Hmm. Finally, the
- 25:02Speaker 1: moment on the stand when Hannah is analyzing the cheesecake
- 25:05Speaker 1: for its potential almond containment, it's giving. Isn't it true
- 25:10Speaker 1: that one of the cardinal rules of perm maintenance is
- 25:12Speaker 1: that you're forbidden to wet your hair for at least
- 25:14Speaker 1: twenty four hours at the risk of deactivating the ammonium
- 25:17Speaker 1: thy glocolates. Yes, I love a silly courtroom moment. I
- 25:21Speaker 1: loved it. Okay, I have one more. Did you see that?
- 25:25Speaker 1: It's more of a question. Did you think it was bizarre?
- 25:29Speaker 1: So when we have Lucas, the da who goes missing, Yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 1: and the wife is like, yeah, he like regularly disappears
- 25:37Speaker 1: and comes back and like, I don't know where he goes.
- 25:40Speaker 1: He might go fishing, but he just needs to like unwind.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Isn't that red flag in your marriage, Like if your
- 25:46Speaker 1: husband just bounced because I don't know where he goes,
- 25:51Speaker 1: come on, weird. You know, my parents think it's really
- 25:54Speaker 1: weird that my husband and I have each other's locations.
- 25:57Speaker 1: What And I was like, actually, I think you guys
- 26:00Speaker 1: should do that, especially given your age and the fact
- 26:02Speaker 1: that neither view is in like amazing health. But you
- 26:04Speaker 1: know that'd be great with your heart issues, Like, it'd
- 26:07Speaker 1: be nice if we can find you. Are you ready
- 26:09Speaker 1: to rate this movie? I am? Would you give it?
- 26:12Speaker 1: I gave it four stars. I think this franchise still
- 26:15Speaker 1: has life in it, especially if we evolve into the
- 26:18Speaker 1: direction that this episode took us in. Yeah, I would
- 26:22Speaker 1: agree with that. I'm I gave this movie three point
- 26:25Speaker 1: seventy five stars. I think it was headed in the
- 26:28Speaker 1: right direction. I think it was an improvement over Sugar
- 26:31Speaker 1: and Vice in a big way. I liked the storytelling,
- 26:34Speaker 1: like the directions our characters are going. I found it
- 26:37Speaker 1: very pleasant to watch, and I would be happy to
- 26:39Speaker 1: see another Hannah s Winson on the schedule after this one. Same. Hey,
