• 5:09
Speaker 1: Is it a high boy, a low boy?
• 5:10
  Speaker 1: What is?
• 5:11
Speaker 2: that it's a high boy, that's an oh boy it's a high boy okay high boy what?
• 5:16
Speaker 1: what year is it?
• 5:19
  Speaker 2: 32 ways.
• 5:19
Speaker 2: How many lies he told today?
• 5:25
  Speaker 2: 32.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: Catch up with you it's a 32 high boy.
• 5:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, so well, I guess we didn't talk to you about that car.
• 5:36
Speaker 6: That's the one that stan drove here today that's what I'm gonna get he was all bundled up when he drove in I, I was at a college reunion which is amazing because I was only in college for two weeks and the auction I think the Mecham auction was going on and I couldn't be there because I went just north of San Antonio to this.
• 5:56
Speaker 6: So I called Frank Gilchrist.
• 5:58
Speaker 6: I said are you going to the auction?
• 5:59
Speaker 6: He said yes, I want a 32 Ford but I don't want to spend a fortune on it.
• 6:04
Speaker 6: How much can I spend?
• 6:06
Speaker 6: Oh, no, frank, I'm not.
• 6:09
Speaker 5: We're not doing it that way.
• 6:10
Speaker 6: I'm not going to be a one-man auction here, you know.
• 6:12
Speaker 6: So he bought it for me and I think it was like $28,000 or something.
• 6:19
  Speaker 6: That's a whole lot and it's got a Cobra motor.
• 6:20
Speaker 6: It wasn't that nice when I got it, but it was nice.
• 6:26
Speaker 6: It drives so good, so we painted it and redid the upholstery and you know it's kind of like George Washington's hatchet now, but it's a really a good driving car.
• 6:33
Speaker 6: Four it's a five speed Tremec and it's just a great driving car.
• 6:39
Speaker 4: The wheels that you've got on it, with the wire wheels and stuff, it just.
• 6:42
Speaker 4: I know Most people are putting chrome and all that which is fine.
• 6:46
Speaker 6: Yeah, but that is absolutely different.
• 6:48
Speaker 6: That's so error correct.
• 6:49
Speaker 6: And then we powder coated the grill to match.
• 6:51
Speaker 1: And you know what that grill makes that car?
• 6:54
Speaker 1: I think it does too.
• 6:55
Speaker 6: Oh my, God, it's just perfect.
• 6:56
Speaker 6: I'm so tempted to put you know how they used to put the race car number in the grill.
• 7:00
  Speaker 6: Yep.
• 7:01
Speaker 6: I'm really tempted to do that.
• 7:04
  Speaker 1: It is brilliant.
• 7:05
Speaker 1: It needs to be left the hell alone.
• 7:08
Speaker 1: Yes, exactly, stop, leave Quit, yep.
• 7:11
Speaker 5: Yeah, it's absolutely beautiful.
• 7:12
Speaker 1: So, what is the car behind it?
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: I don't know, it's the second.
• 7:17
  Speaker 4: That's the TPR.
• 7:17
Speaker 6: I think it's the second ugliest car ever built.
• 7:19
Speaker 6: It might be the.
• 7:20
Speaker 6: So it's not your car, no, heck, no.
• 7:24
Speaker 6: Okay, I don't buy ugly cars, but that thing I understand is rocket ship, fast, super valuable.
• 7:30
Speaker 6: They only made a handful of them.
• 7:32
Speaker 6: My son has one, I just it looks like.
• 7:35
Speaker 6: Yeah, it looks like they got pieces from all the manufacturers.
• 7:38
  Speaker 6: It is a.
• 7:39
  Speaker 4: GTR, yeah, yeah.
• 7:40
Speaker 6: It looks like you got pieces of car from all the manufacturers.
• 7:43
Speaker 2: Stan, what is it?
• 7:46
  Speaker 6: It's a Toyota.
• 7:46
  Speaker 2: A.
• 7:46
  Speaker 4: Toyota GT-R.
• 7:47
  Speaker 4: Oh okay, it's a GT-R.
• 7:47
Speaker 2: The wheel just got the trophy Because I couldn't see the grill on it.
• 7:53
Speaker 6: I'm a generation three behind that, so I don't understand it.
• 7:56
Speaker 4: My son fights over that kind of stuff.
• 7:58
Speaker 6: Well, my son does too.
• 7:59
Speaker 6: He's got one, so I don't get it.
• 8:01
  Speaker 6: We had a.
• 8:02
Speaker 1: JDM guy on not too long ago.
• 8:05
  Speaker 2: Right-hand drive.
• 8:06
Speaker 1: Uh-huh, he had a right-hand drive car, and if we were that age today, that's what we would be into.
• 8:15
Speaker 6: If we were that age today, we wouldn't have the money to be into that.
• 8:18
Speaker 1: Exactly, well, there's that there's have the money to be into that.
• 8:22
  Speaker 1: Well, there's that, that's that.
• 8:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's that, that's still there.
• 8:24
Speaker 1: But you know, it's funny because we talked to a guy that actually deals, goes to japan, buys those cars, has them shipped here and they're not as expensive as you would think they would be.
• 8:32
Speaker 6: Oh, really correct, I mean yeah yeah, you would think when you're buying and importing them now, when you sell them retail, they get real expensive yeah, I missed an opportunity because I hadn't decided to sell some cars and a friend of mine has got a little used car lot in Santa Ana, california, and he called me on fire.
• 8:51
Speaker 6: He said, hey, I've got this guy here and he's from Dubai and he's looking for classic cars.
• 8:56
Speaker 6: He's got no budget.
• 8:57
Speaker 6: We were on the road racing.
• 9:00
  Speaker 6: I said, dick, I'm not even, I can't.
• 9:01
Speaker 6: He'll fly into Houston and you tell him what you want and we'll ship him.
• 9:06
Speaker 6: I missed that wonderful opportunity.
• 9:08
Speaker 1: Well yeah, but that's going to be a pick and choose.
• 9:11
Speaker 1: I'll sell that one, but I ain't selling that one.
• 9:14
  Speaker 6: Well, there's that.
• 9:15
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 9:15
  Speaker 6: But the GTO.
• 9:16
Speaker 6: And my brother says why don't you sell the GTO?
• 9:20
Speaker 6: It's the best car you have.
• 9:21
Speaker 6: I said, well, you're an old guy so you think that, but it is a really good car.
• 9:27
Speaker 4: Yeah, the market's kind of soft on stuff like that right now, unfortunately.
• 9:30
Speaker 6: But you know what the market it follows generation.
• 9:32
Speaker 6: The classic car market is soft right now, but I think after the election it's going to make a turn after the first of the year.
• 9:39
Speaker 6: Right now it election, it's it's going to make a turn after the first of the year.
• 9:50
Speaker 6: Right now it's not a good.
• 9:50
Speaker 6: It's a good time to buy, but the uh, the 70 model cars are the ones that are selling now because that those guys finally made some money.
• 9:53
Speaker 6: They're in their middle late 40s, so, like I, stole a 46 ford.
• 9:54
Speaker 6: Well, that generation that drove that car when they were kids, they were out of the game.
• 9:58
Speaker 6: Yeah they're 80s, 90s, yeah they just, they're just out of the game.
• 10:01
  Speaker 6: So I mean, I bought a beautiful 46 ford.
• 10:04
Speaker 6: Uh, I had it here, I think the last car show humpback yes I mean paint job was 15 000 yeah wow I think I paid 22 grand for it.
• 10:15
Speaker 6: Oh, it's had it re-carved, it's got air, it's got a windsor 351, automatic power windows, everything.
• 10:22
Speaker 6: So it was either a divorce car or an estate car, I would imagine.
• 10:25
Speaker 1: Where do you find those cars?
• 10:26
Speaker 1: You find them online, or is somebody that calls you?
• 10:29
Speaker 1: That's an auction car?
• 10:30
Speaker 1: It was an auction car.
• 10:31
  Speaker 1: Yeah, really.
• 10:31
Speaker 6: You've got to be and I'm sure you know you've got to be careful at an auction.
• 10:34
Speaker 6: Sometimes cars are at an auction for a reason.
• 10:37
Speaker 6: There's and problems, but I mean that car was, you know, just stainless steel underneath the car and everything was perfect.
• 10:44
Speaker 6: And, like I said, just that generation that was driving that car when he was in high school is.
• 10:51
Speaker 6: They're out of the game now they're not playing the game.
• 10:53
Speaker 4: Last time we talked to Michael Wooding, which he does the appraisals and things.
• 10:56
Speaker 4: Yes, that's what he was telling us the 50s Tri-Fives, man, they're're cheap because those guys are out and the 20 and 30, 40-year-olds.
• 11:05
Speaker 4: That's not what they want.
• 11:06
Speaker 4: They want the 70s.
• 11:07
Speaker 4: That's what they want.
• 11:09
Speaker 6: Yeah, and if you do have a car like that, they want an LS in it.
• 11:11
Speaker 6: Yes, I'm in the midst of restoring a 57 Ford Fairlane 300.
• 11:16
Speaker 6: Oh, and it's got the gold down the side.
• 11:19
Speaker 6: Oh, and it's got the gold down the side.
• 11:21
  Speaker 6: We're painting it.
• 11:22
Speaker 6: It's a Lexus color, it's titanium silver or something like that, with that saddle color, leather interior yes, but I'm leaving the original T-Bird motor because there's a lower end 57.
• 11:36
  Speaker 2: Is it?
• 11:36
  Speaker 6: an E motor?
• 11:37
  Speaker 6: I don't know.
• 11:41
  Speaker 2: It's a 312.
• 11:46
  Speaker 6: I think that's the E 312.
• 11:47
Speaker 5: I think so but you could, but it was unusual because they'd have a 292 when the cheaper ones, and that did it, but it's an automatic.
• 11:51
Speaker 6: It's in louisiana getting airbagged and, done correctly, that car will bring some money and I, um, I don't know why, because it doesn't match what we're talking about no but it.
• 11:59
Speaker 4: But it's a restomod that somebody that wants something classic looking, but they want air conditioning, they want automatic.
• 12:06
Speaker 4: They want to be able to drive it comfortably.
• 12:08
Speaker 6: Exactly so we put an LS in Sheila's Cadillac and I had the big 450.
• 12:14
Speaker 6: Whatever it was, Cadillac motor in it.
• 12:16
  Speaker 6: We have 450.
• 12:17
  Speaker 6: Numbers matching car.
• 12:17
Speaker 6: I didn't want to change it, but those little motors were just clumsy.
• 12:21
  Speaker 4: They were.
• 12:21
Speaker 6: So I finally said you know, let's put an LS in it.
• 12:24
  Speaker 4: And.
• 12:25
Speaker 6: I'm really glad I did, and the guy that did it, sean Broussard in Louisiana.
• 12:28
Speaker 6: He does two cars at a time.
• 12:29
Speaker 6: I think he had six or eight months and it had already been restored on TV.
• 12:34
  Speaker 2: Right right.
• 12:34
Speaker 6: But he redid the airbags and put the LS in it and pull the front off and did the engine compartment and did it correctly, made the valve cover so it doesn't look like an LS, you know, and it just like you said, you get in it, air blows cold, you can drive it.
• 12:50
Speaker 2: Went back to the nostalgic look.
• 12:51
Speaker 4: That's what you want to do, you know if you're 16, 17, 18 years old back then, yeah, okay, it's hard to start.
• 12:57
Speaker 4: I don't want that no more.
• 12:58
Speaker 4: I don't want that no more.
• 12:59
  Speaker 4: I don't want that.
• 12:59
  Speaker 6: I'm over it.
• 13:00
  Speaker 4: That's right.
• 13:01
Speaker 6: Well, chase has kind of adopted that car, which is fine, with his mom.
• 13:04
Speaker 6: But that was my dream when I bought it it was silver with a black top and really bad red vinyl upholstery.
• 13:11
Speaker 6: And I thought, well, that would be fun for her to pull up at the restaurant, and I thought that would be the car's destiny.
• 13:19
Speaker 6: But Chase got his hands on it and that's, I guess it's.
• 13:20
Speaker 1: That's okay too, though I guess it is okay yeah and she's enjoying him enjoying it.
• 13:24
Speaker 1: Well, not only that, but you could get in the car and it'll start.
• 13:27
Speaker 1: You don't have to worry about the carburetor and all that.
• 13:29
Speaker 6: It wouldn't start this morning, though, because we're having a car show, you know.
• 13:32
Speaker 6: Well, of course, of course, but they put lithium batteries in there and it minutes and on the road, wow so yeah yeah, you know you get to the restaurant.
• 13:41
  Speaker 4: It's 10 o'clock at night.
• 13:42
Speaker 4: You're ready to go home?
• 13:43

• 14:00
Speaker 1: To tell you that, uh, you know this twice a year event has been a hit, if you remember correctly the the last one that you had.
• 14:07
Speaker 6: Uh, it filled up all the parking lots yes, and this one, I think, came close if it didn't yeah, it's filled over to next door and back around the back right.
• 14:16
Speaker 6: Um, you know, I'm really I don't know who's but I'm thrilled with the people that came out and support the cruise in.
• 14:25
Speaker 6: We love to do it, but it's disappointing if you have one drop of rain and there's 22 cars in the parking lot.
• 14:31
Speaker 6: You know, but you know what?
• 14:33
Speaker 1: That's part of the cruise in scene.
• 14:35
Speaker 1: Unfortunately, you have to deal with the weather.
• 14:37
  Speaker 1: You do.
• 14:38
Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, I even posted on my own personal facebook page uh, last night I said look, the weather is going to be absolutely perfect.
• 14:48
Speaker 1: You're not going to blazing hot sun, the temperatures are going to be perfect, ideal cloud color cover with no chance of rain.

• 15:24
Speaker 6: Yeah, now I want my cars.
• 15:26
Speaker 6: And so now we've done so many shows, all of them are just lined up down the hallway.
• 15:30
Speaker 1: I'll be honest with you.
• 15:30
Speaker 1: You know what you could probably sell those.
• 15:33
Speaker 4: Kind of what I was thinking, you know you could probably sell those.
• 15:35
Speaker 1: I mean, I would buy them.
• 15:36
Speaker 1: You know, charity, we buy these, we're going to send them.

• 15:53
Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, so there's like 12 of them in one frame of all the different ones.
• 15:56
Speaker 6: That would be fun to have.
• 15:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, it would be.
• 16:00
Speaker 4: If you decide to do that, seriously, there are places we used to use one in Dallas that people would want it say they wanted a poster and for whatever reason, whatever you want to do, it's $10, $20, whatever.
• 16:10
Speaker 4: They would order it and they would drop ship it to them.
• 16:13
Speaker 4: They would print it and drop ship it to them you don't have to deal with all that crap oh, I didn't know about that.
• 16:25
  Speaker 4: Yeah, particularly.
• 16:25
Speaker 4: And then the money comes to you based on whatever you set up with the company that does that, but there's several of them and there's one that we used to use in dallas.
• 16:30
Speaker 6: That was really good.
• 16:30
Speaker 6: I mean, we're talking, let me know about that and get them in touch with mary and, you know, maybe, maybe do something along those lines she's really a talented gifted she is, she is, she is and she's very nice.
• 16:41
