- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, uh, I sure will. Good morning everybody you
- 0:06Speaker 1: are listening to the voice, Oh, come on, dig me now,
- 0:10Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey Man got a radio show,
- 0:15Speaker 1: borl bor Oh boy, I can't even tell you. Man.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I've been doing some thinking and and one of the
- 0:25Speaker 1: things that I wanted to mention today to you as
- 0:28Speaker 1: one of the principles of success, being grateful at all
- 0:35Speaker 1: times is difficult to do. Being grateful at all times
- 0:44Speaker 1: is very difficult to do. I find that to be
- 0:47Speaker 1: true with myself. Now there are others that might be
- 0:50Speaker 1: able to do it, but just from talking and listening
- 0:54Speaker 1: and living and learning, being grateful at all times is
- 0:59Speaker 1: difficult to do. But it's necessary because it's such an
- 1:06Speaker 1: act of faith in knowing that no matter what's going on,
- 1:10Speaker 1: it's going to be alright. And it's hard to see
- 1:14Speaker 1: that when things are not going in your favor, when
- 1:19Speaker 1: things have turned so dramatically the other way, and it
- 1:24Speaker 1: seems as though you're the only one in the situation
- 1:28Speaker 1: where you're involved with other people, or someone got an
- 1:31Speaker 1: accusation against you falsely, or somebody trying to do something
- 1:34Speaker 1: to you unjustifiably, whatever the case may be. When it's
- 1:39Speaker 1: happening to you. It does appear to you that, oh,
- 1:43Speaker 1: my goodness, man, this is horribly one sided. So it
- 1:49Speaker 1: is difficult. It's hard to do to be grateful at
- 1:52Speaker 1: all times, but it's so necessary. And I just want
- 1:57Speaker 1: to point out a couple of things to you. First
- 2:00Speaker 1: of all, the difficulty in being grateful in hard times
- 2:05Speaker 1: is that number one, the present circumstances. Oftentimes it's just
- 2:11Speaker 1: so pressing and so overwhelming that a lot of your
- 2:15Speaker 1: energy is devoted to trying to come up with the
- 2:18Speaker 1: solution for that, or trying to muster the strength to
- 2:22Speaker 1: whether the storm, or trying to just brace yourself to
- 2:25Speaker 1: try to get through it, and in doing that, you don't.
- 2:30Speaker 1: It's hard to be grateful. It's hard to be grateful
- 2:33Speaker 1: in pain, and I know it is. But here is
- 2:37Speaker 1: the trick for me. This is what I've had to
- 2:42Speaker 1: learn how to do, and I guess it takes practice
- 2:46Speaker 1: to get here. It's not nothing you just start doing
- 2:49Speaker 1: right away. You got to practice it in small increments
- 2:51Speaker 1: to really get it. What I've always had to say
- 2:54Speaker 1: to myself and what I've learned to say to myself
- 2:57Speaker 1: is this is happening to me because God is working
- 3:02Speaker 1: me through something. This is happening to me because it's
- 3:07Speaker 1: some form of tests that I have to pass in
- 3:10Speaker 1: order to graduate to the next grade, and that in
- 3:13Speaker 1: order to be allowed to move to the next level.
- 3:16Speaker 1: This is happening to me because there's something I need
- 3:21Speaker 1: to purge my life, of my body, of my spirit,
- 3:25Speaker 1: of something's purging in me. And when you purge something,
- 3:30Speaker 1: it's it's painful. You know, it's like a person getting
- 3:33Speaker 1: off drugs. The withdrawal is agonizing. I've been told and
- 3:38Speaker 1: every documentary I've ever watched it it's an agonizing process
- 3:43Speaker 1: to go cold turkey, to withdraw, to pull away after
- 3:48Speaker 1: you've been doing something so long. And so I know
- 3:52Speaker 1: that this process is tough when you're going through some pain.
- 3:58Speaker 1: But when you're purging yourself system, when you're when you're
- 4:02Speaker 1: when you're having to pass a test, when you're about
- 4:05Speaker 1: to make when when you're being made ready for the
- 4:09Speaker 1: next level, that moment right in there, in realizing that
- 4:13Speaker 1: that's what's happening, that's where you find the gratitude. That's
- 4:17Speaker 1: where I found the gratitude. I hope I'm explaining this correctly.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna keep trying until I get it. But that's
- 4:24Speaker 1: where you find the gratitude. The second part of it
- 4:29Speaker 1: is is that God has never left me in all
- 4:34Speaker 1: the things I've done, in all the mistakes I've made,
- 4:38Speaker 1: all the lies I've told, all the situations I've gotten
- 4:43Speaker 1: myself into from being greedy and wanting too much for
- 4:47Speaker 1: me at the expense sometimes of other people, not doing
- 4:55Speaker 1: it deliberately or in a vindictive way, because I've never
- 4:59Speaker 1: had that. I'm not a vindictive or mean person, but
- 5:04Speaker 1: sometimes in my life, in wanting to do what I
- 5:08Speaker 1: wanted to do, I didn't totally weigh out the cause
- 5:11Speaker 1: and effect of the other person. I mean, can I
- 5:15Speaker 1: just be real with you with that? I mean, how
- 5:17Speaker 1: many times we'dne all done that? Look, it doesn't It
- 5:19Speaker 1: don't make you a bad person. You know, good people
- 5:23Speaker 1: do bad things all the time. I just happened to
- 5:27Speaker 1: have come to the realization that unknowingly and and not
- 5:33Speaker 1: and not with malice intent towards a person, I've hurt
- 5:39Speaker 1: people looking at something I wanted to do without really
- 5:44Speaker 1: looking at what the cause and effect would be on
- 5:47Speaker 1: the other person. So in doing some of these things,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I've created situations for myself. But God, through his grace
- 5:56Speaker 1: and mercy, has allowed me to even get beyond that.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So what I'm saying that God has never left me
- 6:03Speaker 1: in spite of myself. He's always gotten me through. So
- 6:07Speaker 1: that's the other part of it too. See that no
- 6:10Speaker 1: matter what you're going through, you've got to understand that
- 6:13Speaker 1: God has always gotten you through it now has any
- 6:16Speaker 1: Now that may not be the way you want it
- 6:18Speaker 1: or the way you liked, But guess what, you can't
- 6:21Speaker 1: do wrong and not pay for that. Now that that's
- 6:24Speaker 1: not how this works. That's never going to be the case.
- 6:27Speaker 1: But the great thing about God is he fires warning
- 6:30Speaker 1: shots at us all the time. He gives us an
- 6:32Speaker 1: opportunity to stop. You know, He don't fully punish us
- 6:36Speaker 1: right away every time we do something wrong. Now does it?
- 6:40Speaker 1: You know eventually you're going to get caught doing whatever
- 6:43Speaker 1: it is you're doing. You do understand that, don't you.
- 6:46Speaker 1: But the first time, that close call, that was a
- 6:49Speaker 1: warning shot for you to stop. Look, I know you're
- 6:52Speaker 1: not perfect. I know we all sinn us down here,
- 6:54Speaker 1: so I know you're gonna make mistakes. One time, I
- 6:57Speaker 1: know you was looking at her when you weren't supposed to.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I know you say I had something to him when
- 7:01Speaker 1: you wasn't supposed to. I know you got with her
- 7:04Speaker 1: when you know you wasn't supposed to. And I know
- 7:06Speaker 1: you got with him when you know you weren't supposed to.
- 7:09Speaker 1: So I tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm a
- 7:10Speaker 1: fire warning shot, and maybe you'll slow your role this time.
- 7:13Speaker 1: But we keep on though. See see, see that's what happens. See,
- 7:17Speaker 1: we just keep on and then the next thing, you know,
- 7:20Speaker 1: we get caught. Now, Oh Lord, have mercy. I won't
- 7:24Speaker 1: out of this. Yeah, well see you done dug this
- 7:26Speaker 1: hole pretty deep and he gonna get you out. But
- 7:29Speaker 1: it's some things that's got to go down now because
- 7:32Speaker 1: you didn't pay attention to the warning shot. See, had
- 7:35Speaker 1: you stopped the first time, you felt bad about it
- 7:37Speaker 1: and said you wasn't gonna do it no more, the
- 7:39Speaker 1: situation wouldn't be as critical. But because we don't stop,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and we go again. But God always forgives, He always
- 7:49Speaker 1: allows us to get back up again. He always gives
- 7:53Speaker 1: us mercy, He always gives us his grace. He always
- 7:58Speaker 1: does that. Listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show
