- 0:14Speaker 2: I don't want them glazing me either, you know, patronizing me.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Really what you want as a guest who is an adversary?
- 0:21Speaker 2: And then you have a discussion likewise your callers, who
- 0:25Speaker 2: needs this Barney talk all the time? I love you,
- 0:28Speaker 2: you love me?
- 0:30Speaker 1: You know.
- 0:30Speaker 2: You go to MSNBC, it's all the same people. It's
- 0:33Speaker 2: like they're in their court, acquire same thing Fox News Channel.
- 0:38Speaker 2: The whole idea is you get different points of view
- 0:42Speaker 2: and you come to your own conclusion.
- 0:44Speaker 1: What's wrong with that?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Oh no, it's got to be all I love you, you
- 0:49Speaker 2: love me.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Get out of here. That's not Curtis sleeler. Anyway.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Let's go to the phones. First up, it's Jackline in Brooklyn.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Your turn to be heard here on WR.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Curtis, I just want to tell you from that other
- 1:04Speaker 3: station they censored me, going back to the month of
- 1:08Speaker 3: October when they started to ramp up their rhetoric against you.
- 1:13Speaker 3: I think you know who I am, and I was
- 1:15Speaker 3: one of your biggest cheerleaders, not only on that station,
- 1:19Speaker 3: but everywhere. They would not take my calls. I tried
- 1:24Speaker 3: to point out to everyone. I did a deep dive
- 1:27Speaker 3: into the details of all of these so called polls,
- 1:31Speaker 3: and I explained to them how there was no way
- 1:34Speaker 3: that Cuomo could ever win that election, and because of that,
- 1:38Speaker 3: they stopped taking my calls and I stopped listening to
- 1:40Speaker 3: that station.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Good good, well, let me tell you Jack, for many
- 1:44Speaker 2: of you, and I know you're out there because you
- 1:45Speaker 2: come up to me all the time. You're texting me,
- 1:50Speaker 2: you're sending me emails.
- 1:52Speaker 1: All of that. Good.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Hey, you don't need to go back to that bashing
- 1:55Speaker 2: Curtis stuff.
- 1:57Speaker 1: You stay right here is seven t wo? What right?
- 2:01Speaker 1: You got enough good talk here to satisfy your needs.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Don't be a massive kiss and go back there.
- 2:08Speaker 2: By the way, updates when I do my tribute to
- 2:11Speaker 2: Bernard mcgirka, they never do with WABC any longer. Is
- 2:15Speaker 2: that the guy in the morning, you know, Sid Tessio.
- 2:19Speaker 2: He's planning to move to Florida. Oh yeah, yeah, they're hurts.
- 2:25Speaker 2: You get right there out of here. They're not gonna
- 2:28Speaker 2: stay and fight. No, no, no, no, they don't believe improved,
- 2:31Speaker 2: don't move. They want out. Look, you're free to go.
- 2:36Speaker 1: This is the greatness of America.
- 2:38Speaker 2: If you're not happy in our trach state area here
- 2:41Speaker 2: or anywhere you move around, it's called migration. It's what's
- 2:44Speaker 2: made America great. I don't fault any of you if
- 2:47Speaker 2: you do that. I've chosen no, no, no, no, I improve.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I don't move. I fight for what I know is right.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Un So i'mndami is going to initiate something that I'm
- 2:56Speaker 2: in opposition to with others.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It's to the barricades right out of me? Is that
- 3:01Speaker 1: up to the barricades?
- 3:03Speaker 2: See?
- 3:03Speaker 1: Got a place you can come?
- 3:07Speaker 2: They don't need to go to WABC, always bashing Curtis
- 3:11Speaker 2: and obviously where the talk show hosts and hostesses are
- 3:17Speaker 2: all preparing to abandon ship. Oh I know I have
- 3:21Speaker 2: it on good authority. That's going to Russ who's calling
- 3:25Speaker 2: from White Plains. Your turn to be heard here at WABC.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Lost toys down there? Did they not know that you
- 3:35Speaker 1: sacrificed an Ivy League education for freedom from Jackson? Tis?
- 3:39Speaker 2: I mean Curtis your crusader. Oh stop placing me. Here's
- 3:45Speaker 2: another one patronizing me. I did not sacrifice an Ivy
- 3:48Speaker 2: League education. Let's get the record straight. I was going
- 3:54Speaker 2: to Brooklyn Prep. I was his senior died. Chegwood High
- 3:57Speaker 2: School was the last year they were open, seventy two.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I was the student government president.
- 4:04Speaker 1: We took a.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Plever site not to wear the jacketson ties, which were
- 4:09Speaker 2: part of the tradition. I tried to enforce the plever site.
- 4:13Speaker 2: The Jesuits warned me. They said, it will be consequences
- 4:17Speaker 2: for your actions. Why do you think your mom and
- 4:19Speaker 2: dad and other parents work so hard so their kids
- 4:23Speaker 2: can come and get a good Jesuit education. Part of
- 4:26Speaker 2: it is the discipline of wearing a jacket in tie.
- 4:29Speaker 2: But hey, as in the sixties the counter culture, don't
- 4:33Speaker 2: trust anybody over thirty. Challenge authority, as I always dot.
- 4:37Speaker 2: But the best lesson that I ever got taught was
- 4:43Speaker 2: there are consequences for your actions.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Uh.
- 4:48Speaker 2: The headmaster was a guy named Father Alexander. It was
- 4:53Speaker 2: a prefective discipline. Always hated me. They marched me to
- 4:59Speaker 2: my locker. I had to clear it out. I thought
- 5:01Speaker 2: everybody else would join me right to a walk out.
- 5:05Speaker 2: They looked at me as if I was a member
- 5:07Speaker 2: of the Leper College, and I never heard from any
- 5:10Speaker 2: of them, and I headed home to Canarsie and I.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Never looked back, never looked back.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Spent a few weeks in Canarsie High School, pretty good
- 5:21Speaker 2: local high school, but that was it.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I had it one out, started working.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I was pumping gas, packing shelves at NAP and A
- 5:31Speaker 2: and P, and then ended up going up to the
- 5:33Speaker 2: Bronx where I became the night manager of Mickey D's.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And that's where I started the Guardian Angels. So I
- 5:39Speaker 2: never finished high school technically, never got a GED. I
- 5:43Speaker 2: did have a partial scholarship that was being offered to
- 5:46Speaker 2: me from Brown in Providence because they had just set
- 5:50Speaker 2: up a environmental studies program. I had started some of
- 5:54Speaker 2: the first recycling centers all over.
- 5:56Speaker 1: The country, although right there in book.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And they wanted to give me a half scholarship, which
- 6:03Speaker 2: I'd probably would have taken if I graduated.
- 6:07Speaker 1: But I my.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Decisions caused me to suffer the consequences. And this is
- 6:18Speaker 2: what you have to learn and teach your children and
- 6:20Speaker 2: grandchildren growing up. And sometimes you have to learn the
- 6:23Speaker 2: hard way. There are consequences for your actions, and that's
- 6:29Speaker 2: the way it you be let's go to Leonora's calling
- 6:32Speaker 2: from Connecticut. Your turn to be heard on what I
- 6:34Speaker 2: hope is your favorite station, seven to ten wor Leonor.
- 6:40Speaker 4: It absolutely is, especially now that you're on it. Curtis,
- 6:44Speaker 4: I just want you to know I checked out for
- 6:45Speaker 4: the holidays. I didn't know where you were when I
- 6:48Speaker 4: put on War, and there you are. I freaked out.
- 6:51Speaker 4: I can't believe it. I'm thrilled you here, and anybody
- 6:55Speaker 4: who's pissed off that you didn't drop out of that
- 6:57Speaker 4: race can go spin did Anybody who knows you knows
- 7:01Speaker 4: that you are not going to back down, and I'm
- 7:03Speaker 4: proud you didn't. Mcdonmie was gonna win no matter what.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Cuomo was never gonna take it. I don't care who
- 7:09Speaker 4: was paying him or what was going on. Mcdonmie was
- 7:11Speaker 4: gonna take it.
- 7:12Speaker 3: And I am.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Proud you're on w O War and I'm so excited
- 7:15Speaker 4: to start my new year out this way. So keep
- 7:17Speaker 4: it going, Curtis.
- 7:19Speaker 1: All right, Well, remember remember Leonora.
- 7:21Speaker 2: For everyone who's just listening now, I'm only here upstanding
- 7:24Speaker 2: for Mark Simone, the best in the business. I mean,
- 7:26Speaker 2: this guy's the smooth operator.
- 7:29Speaker 1: All right.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I've worked side by side with Mark Simone. I competed
- 7:33Speaker 2: against Mark Simon. There were none betic, none better than
- 7:37Speaker 2: the business and the person who is jumping up and
- 7:40Speaker 2: down looking forward to Mark's return on Monday. The fifth
- 7:45Speaker 2: is Greg Kelly over at WABC, because I'd walk in,
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'd walk into that studio BBS sitting there snacking off
- 7:53Speaker 2: of Mark Simone's shows, taking all kinds of notes. That's
- 7:56Speaker 2: how we would do a show prep, which is a
- 7:58Speaker 2: pretty good idea, especially when you're like Greg Kelly and
- 8:02Speaker 2: you don't do any show prep and you think you
- 8:05Speaker 2: could sit there for three hours and just do a
- 8:07Speaker 2: stream of consciousness.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Now it doesn't work.
- 8:10Speaker 2: So he'd be taking notes, you know, like comedians would
- 8:15Speaker 2: be stealing lines from one another. By the way, we're
- 8:17Speaker 2: gonna be talking about AI in the next hour. Let
- 8:21Speaker 2: me quantify it. It's like Joe Biden. It's a plagiarism
- 8:27Speaker 2: machine that steals and plunders all kinds of information. So
- 8:33Speaker 2: like comedians used to steal from one another, and Greg
- 8:36Speaker 2: Kelly steals from the best in the business, Mark Simon,
- 8:39Speaker 2: not they're wrong with da. I know you're listening now, Greg,
- 8:41Speaker 2: You're disappointed because you the kind of stuff I'm talking
- 8:44Speaker 2: about you wouldn't be picking my pocket. But it's okay.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Mark's coming back on Monday. You'll have somebody to do
- 8:51Speaker 2: your show prep for you.
- 8:57Speaker 1: H Up.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Next, gotta pay tribute to one of the greats. I
- 9:01Speaker 2: know he's on every Monday with Larry Mente. Warner Wolf. Oh,
- 9:09Speaker 2: what a great story about Warner Wolf still kicking it
- 9:11Speaker 2: down to Fort Myers. And then the tribute to Bernard
- 9:16Speaker 2: McGirt that they don't even do a WABC any longer.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I mean, the most loyal person ever ever in this
- 9:24Speaker 2: thing of ours radio
