- 1:35Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:40Speaker 1: at Let's Stadium. For us, it's the put the hay
- 1:43Speaker 1: in the barn day. Right, we're ready to play the Raiders.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Are we ready to go?
- 1:48Speaker 8: I mean we are.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We We've answered, yeah, sure, we're part of the team.
- 1:51Speaker 1: We've answered. We've answered Deuce's roundtable questions.
- 1:55Speaker 5: Yeah, you know.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So that's putting the hay in the bars?
- 1:58Speaker 8: Do your first first day?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Oh you were first?
- 2:01Speaker 5: Generally I was in a meeting.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I thought i'd be.
- 2:04Speaker 9: No, I'm pretty sure. I'm always last and sometimes have
- 2:07Speaker 9: to get reminded.
- 2:08Speaker 8: By Deuce to know you are today, Evan, let's go.
- 2:13Speaker 9: I've been better.
- 2:15Speaker 8: I feel like I turn over newly. I had to
- 2:17Speaker 8: write you. I had to write you up in HR
- 2:18Speaker 8: about it.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I need your roundtable answers.
- 2:20Speaker 8: Did you not do your homework?
- 2:22Speaker 9: In my high school? My performance review just like takes
- 2:25Speaker 9: a little bit of.
- 2:25Speaker 8: A talk about your round tables. Okay, we're gonna need
- 2:28Speaker 8: you to do those rounds.
- 2:29Speaker 5: I need to talk to Faith too about the expert picks,
- 2:33Speaker 5: expert expert pro pro prediction. I want to be first
- 2:36Speaker 5: and those two, but I don't know if I am.
- 2:38Speaker 5: I generally try to get it done as soon as
- 2:40Speaker 5: I see the email, because.
- 2:41Speaker 8: I write, I'll forget what you gotta do. I stay
- 2:44Speaker 8: tuned for that, smart folks.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Did anyone struggle with their answers today? Struggle if anyone
- 2:49Speaker 1: doesn't know what I'm talking about. Mike every week sends
- 2:53Speaker 1: out four or five questions that we all answer and
- 2:55Speaker 1: they get posted to Patriots dot com having to do
- 2:58Speaker 1: with the game coming up, what you think needs to
- 3:01Speaker 1: happen for win, things like that, So you should check
- 3:04Speaker 1: it out.
- 3:04Speaker 8: I did a fun one too.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but did anyone struggle, like with anyone like, I
- 3:09Speaker 1: don't know what to say?
- 3:10Speaker 5: Well, not really. That will be a very logical answer,
- 3:16Speaker 5: based on the way that the team has played lately.
- 3:18Speaker 10: Yeah, you'll probably get to a point where we're kind
- 3:19Speaker 10: of writing the same stuff everywhere.
- 3:21Speaker 8: Well, we might be there already, but.
- 3:23Speaker 5: Yeah, was called out a couple of weeks ago.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Everybody needs a little kick in the pants.
- 3:32Speaker 10: We had multiple choice last week.
- 3:34Speaker 8: I know I got away from that this week a
- 3:36Speaker 8: little bit.
- 3:36Speaker 9: But yeah, you know, I've noticed.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I think next week we go with a fill in
- 3:40Speaker 1: the blank.
- 3:41Speaker 8: Fill in the blank. I almost did a fill in
- 3:42Speaker 8: the blank today instead of fill in the blank for
- 3:45Speaker 8: which one was it? Just like player that needs to
- 3:48Speaker 8: step up on defense?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Okay, we'll see, But I think it would be rather
- 3:55Speaker 1: than that, more like pick one word to describe the
- 3:59Speaker 1: Patriots blank, all right, okay, or not blank.
- 4:01Speaker 8: But you know, get some like the very Thesaurus questions, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 8: all right, mad libs, Yeah, mad libs need a verb
- 4:09Speaker 8: to describe We.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Should do that.
- 4:11Speaker 9: No, that's actually a verb.
- 4:12Speaker 8: Wouldn't describe the Patriots active or an adverb?
- 4:17Speaker 1: All right? So what are we talking about today?
- 4:20Speaker 8: All right? So we got Jalen Mills tweeting out unhappy
- 4:23Speaker 8: about playtime. That was That was the one that I
- 4:25Speaker 8: caught yesterday, a little little hey.
- 4:27Speaker 1: What about me?
- 4:28Speaker 8: And then they asked him about it down at LG.
- 4:30Speaker 9: Right, they asked Lawrence, Yeah, John Jones too. I on
- 4:34Speaker 9: the so Jalen Mills has been pretty emphatic in the
- 4:38Speaker 9: conversations that we've had with him this season about wanting
- 4:41Speaker 9: to play safety. He he fancies himself a safety. He
- 4:45Speaker 9: does not view himself as an outside corner. And even
- 4:48Speaker 9: when they agree, if you have to choose, yeah, But
- 4:51Speaker 9: even when they were down multiple bodies at outside corner
- 4:54Speaker 9: and all of us kept writing, well, maybe they'll have
- 4:57Speaker 9: to make this move, maybe they'll have to make this move,
- 4:59Speaker 9: they still have n't moving to outside corner. So as
- 5:01Speaker 9: much as I think that Jalen Mills is a solid player,
- 5:05Speaker 9: like where do you play him? He's not playing over
- 5:07Speaker 9: Pepper's or dugger at safety, and they really like Miles Bryant,
- 5:13Speaker 9: Like what, maybe he's a better nickel than Miles bryan is,
- 5:16Speaker 9: but they don't view it that way. So I'm just
- 5:19Speaker 9: looking at it and saying, if you only want to
- 5:22Speaker 9: play safety, where are you getting on the field, Because
- 5:25Speaker 9: you're not getting on the field.
- 5:26Speaker 8: Point yeah, like the fourth or fifth safety at this point.
- 5:29Speaker 8: I mean, it seems like those ten snaps all seem
- 5:31Speaker 8: like I think, like third and longs you know.
- 5:32Speaker 9: Yeah, that's like dime package six seven dB type stuff.
- 5:37Speaker 8: Yeaheah. Otherwise, just hanging out yeah, I don't know another
- 5:40Speaker 8: thing adding on the pile.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Okay, not great?
- 5:46Speaker 9: Not great?
- 5:46Speaker 8: What else we got?
- 5:48Speaker 9: I was listening to Paul's shows yesterday featuring Paul Yeah and.
- 5:54Speaker 1: And uh No.
- 5:55Speaker 9: I thought what you said about how we're all trying
- 5:59Speaker 9: to find different ways to say the same thing is
- 6:02Speaker 9: like basically how I feel at this point after three
- 6:05Speaker 9: straight days of being on here is like, how how
- 6:09Speaker 9: many other ways can we can we slice slice up
- 6:12Speaker 9: the blame pie now and talk about, you know, the
- 6:15Speaker 9: issues that the team has. And it's kind of I'm
- 6:18Speaker 9: kind of running out of things to say at this point,
- 6:20Speaker 9: but you know.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Let's try to. If there's hope, where does it come from?
- 6:26Speaker 1: And to me, it comes from maybe that offensive line
- 6:33Speaker 1: finally gets healthy and like Evan said, you go back
- 6:36Speaker 1: to where you thought you were going to start with
- 6:38Speaker 1: refit right tackle on when you at right guard andrews
- 6:43Speaker 1: Strange and Trent Brown, and see if we can settle
- 6:47Speaker 1: things down now. I think, like for this week, for example,
- 6:51Speaker 1: if reset right to he's gonna need help, you know,
- 6:54Speaker 1: maybe that's Farrell Brown or whatever, but maybe things can
- 6:58Speaker 1: settle down and maybe Mac can start to execute plays
- 7:02Speaker 1: the way they're drawn up. You know, yeah, that I'm
- 7:06Speaker 1: drawing a little hope off of that.
- 7:07Speaker 8: I just wonder if a quarterback can reset within the game,
- 7:10Speaker 8: you know, like can you reset get to a game.
- 7:13Speaker 8: He's been looking at the rush, he doesn't really trust
- 7:15Speaker 8: his protection, Like can that happen within a game that
- 7:17Speaker 8: you get out? And I'm just feeling trustful today, like
- 7:19Speaker 8: I trust these guys. I'm not looking at them right
- 7:21Speaker 8: like it just seems like it's a long process to get.
- 7:23Speaker 5: I had the comment last week if I were in
- 7:25Speaker 5: New Orleans, I would really be focusing on getting a
- 7:28Speaker 5: hit on him as quickly as I can.
- 7:30Speaker 8: Don't let him start to think about getting comfortable.
- 7:33Speaker 5: You know, it was the second series that he threw
- 7:34Speaker 5: the pick six, and he's getting hit as he throws.
- 7:37Speaker 5: So I think it's hard when you're in a mental
- 7:40Speaker 5: state right now. The way that offense is to avoid that.
- 7:44Speaker 5: If you get hit.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Early, you have to run the ball early and and
- 7:48Speaker 1: stick with it until will you simply can't.
- 7:52Speaker 5: I would, I would. That would be my way to
- 7:55Speaker 5: try to get Mac Jones comfortable is to try to.
- 8:00Speaker 8: Focus on the run.
- 8:01Speaker 1: And here Lineman always say, I love it when our
- 8:05Speaker 1: game plan is run because we know we're going to
- 8:07Speaker 1: be firing off the ball, you know where the aggressor.
- 8:12Speaker 1: You know our timing's right, and you know we can
- 8:15Speaker 1: and fairness.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Most games so far, their game plan has been to
- 8:18Speaker 5: run and they haven't been able to do it early
- 8:20Speaker 5: in the game.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Now I'm not telling you every single time, but they
- 8:25Speaker 5: came out trying to run the ball in a lot
- 8:27Speaker 5: of these games and haven't.
- 8:28Speaker 9: Been able to This Raiders run defense is not very good.
- 8:31Speaker 9: It's like a weakness in their team.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Despite with Bill Belichick said, yeah.
- 8:35Speaker 9: They can run the ball against these guys if they're
- 8:38Speaker 9: their offensive line allows them to and that sets up
- 8:42Speaker 9: play action. And I think one thing that I expect
- 8:44Speaker 9: them to do more this week is max protect play action.
- 8:47Speaker 9: He just keep the house in there, keep seven guys,
- 8:50Speaker 9: keep both tight ends in the back, you know, try
- 8:53Speaker 9: to pick up some of this this pressure. And even
- 8:57Speaker 9: if it's just two routes down the field, at least
- 8:59Speaker 9: he's clean and can make some throws. He made that
- 9:02Speaker 9: throw to Kendrick Bourne in the second half. Think it
- 9:04Speaker 9: gained like twenty eight yards or something like that. That
- 9:06Speaker 9: was seven man protection, hard play action, and you know
- 9:10Speaker 9: keep the quarterback clean. So I guess in some ways
- 9:13Speaker 9: like that that's a way to go about it. I
- 9:15Speaker 9: don't think that that's like you can't do that all
- 9:17Speaker 9: the time, Like that's not offense, Like you can't just
- 9:19Speaker 9: like have eight guys in to pass protect the entire game.
- 9:23Speaker 9: But I think it's one way to go about it.
- 9:25Speaker 9: But you ask for like a glimmer of hope. And
- 9:27Speaker 9: I think that one thing I've been thinking about is
- 9:30Speaker 9: that the defense has only forced two takeaways in five games,
- 9:34Speaker 9: and I think typically speaking a the Bill Belichick defense
- 9:39Speaker 9: always forces turnovers, and without Judon and Christian Gonzales, you
- 9:43Speaker 9: still have guys like a dugger like a J. C.
- 9:46Speaker 9: Jackson who's back now, who are known for forcing turnovers.
- 9:49Speaker 9: And I think two eventually that tends to find its
- 9:54Speaker 9: its level. Like maybe first couple of games you're not
- 9:58Speaker 9: getting the breaks to get the turnovers that you typically
- 10:02Speaker 9: would get, but eventually that usually sways one way or another,
- 10:07Speaker 9: especially for a decent defense.
- 10:08Speaker 8: You know, and especially against Jimmy g right now.
- 10:11Speaker 9: Yeah, I think this defense is statistically they're thirteenth in DVOA,
- 10:15Speaker 9: their twelfth and EP like they're okay defense and if
- 10:18Speaker 9: you can start forcing some turnovers and putting the offense
- 10:21Speaker 9: on short fields or scoring defensively, then you know, maybe
- 10:26Speaker 9: that that's a way to turn this thing around.
- 10:28Speaker 1: If we see a sign that they have started over,
- 10:31Speaker 1: what will that sign.
- 10:32Speaker 8: Be's I wish that had been one of the roundtable questions, Fred,
- 10:37Speaker 8: I don't know that's a good I mean, I think,
- 10:39Speaker 8: like the personnel thing would be an obvious one, but
- 10:42Speaker 8: but it's also Pop Douglas Juju probably gonna be out,
- 10:44Speaker 8: so you don't really like there probably are gonna be
- 10:46Speaker 8: new faces there no matter what, which wouldn't necessarily signal.
- 10:50Speaker 8: So I don't know, I really.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Say some of the stuff that Evan just talked about,
- 10:54Speaker 5: like I think they're gonna line up with with a
- 10:57Speaker 5: tight end, you know Max Crosbybviously they can't allow to
- 11:01Speaker 5: ruin the game, right, so you put a tight end
- 11:04Speaker 5: to help on wherever he is because they move them
- 11:07Speaker 5: all over the place, and then maybe even keep in
- 11:09Speaker 5: the back end to make sure that once he gets
- 11:11Speaker 5: through those two guys, he still doesn't have a free
- 11:15Speaker 5: free lane. So those those kind of like just fundamental
- 11:19Speaker 5: like pass protection kind of stuff like that. Extra bodies
- 11:23Speaker 5: like Evan talked about and more of like I said,
- 11:26Speaker 5: the commitment to run the ball might just be like,
- 11:29Speaker 5: let's go back to square one and go as basic
- 11:31Speaker 5: as we can go on offense.
- 11:33Speaker 9: Yeah, if you want to, because we're doing silver linings
- 11:36Speaker 9: right now or you know, glimmers of hope. The one
- 11:40Speaker 9: thing about this Raiders defense that's different than I think
- 11:42Speaker 9: some of the other good defenses that they face is
- 11:44Speaker 9: that it's literally just Max Crosby right like Dallas. Okay,
- 11:48Speaker 9: you have Micah Parsons, but then you also have DeMarcus
- 11:50Speaker 9: Lawrence on the other side. So if you put three
- 11:53Speaker 9: guys on Micah Parsons, then somebody else on that front
- 11:56Speaker 9: is getting a one on one. You know, Philly has
- 11:59Speaker 9: it feels like eight guys that can get after the quarterback.
- 12:01Speaker 9: The Jets have multiple guys that can get after the qb.
- 12:04Speaker 9: The Dolphins. This team is one guy. One guy is
- 12:08Speaker 9: the reason why this defense isn't like dead last and
- 12:11Speaker 9: pressure rate. So if they this this week, if you
- 12:15Speaker 9: have a one on one you know someplace else, I
- 12:18Speaker 9: think you can probably survive it. Whereas other weeks it
- 12:21Speaker 9: was like, all right, well if we you know, tilt
- 12:23Speaker 9: the protection towards the San Reddick. Well now we got
- 12:26Speaker 9: you know, another guy you know, coming up the middle,
- 12:29Speaker 9: and it's like, okay, well now you know there's multiple
- 12:32Speaker 9: spots that need to win a one on one. I
- 12:34Speaker 9: don't think you have to worry as much this week
- 12:36Speaker 9: about that.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Okay, an offense, I mean on the Patriots defense, I
- 12:43Speaker 1: think there's hope in that they know Jimmy. Jimmy knows
- 12:47Speaker 1: them too. But Jimmy like, yeah, but I think Jimmy
- 12:51Speaker 1: will throw it to you once in a while. And
- 12:53Speaker 1: I think you can disrupt him. I think he likes
- 12:57Speaker 1: things clean, you know. I don't think he's a playmaker.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And so I don't know who's that going to be.
- 13:04Speaker 1: You know, if I had jud and I'd feel a
- 13:06Speaker 1: lot better about it. I don't. I don't know who
- 13:10Speaker 1: it's gonna be. But they need to disrupt him. They
- 13:13Speaker 1: need to show him that we're not gonna let you
- 13:16Speaker 1: sit back there and survey the field.
- 13:18Speaker 8: I think that's I mean. And he's, you know, get
- 13:20Speaker 8: the ball out quick and not to push the ball
- 13:21Speaker 8: down the field kind of a guy. So it's you know,
- 13:23Speaker 8: aggressive defense, is it? You know, as much of the
- 13:25Speaker 8: two gaping kind of wait and let him have a
- 13:27Speaker 8: moment because kind of I don't think due.
- 13:29Speaker 1: To the Raiders what teams do to us pack the box,
- 13:32Speaker 1: like get up there, get in their face, you know,
- 13:34Speaker 1: press coverage, not don't don't give them that cushion.
- 13:38Speaker 10: You know, that's one thing really anticipate. I didn't really anticipate,
- 13:42Speaker 10: you know, with him separately on those lines. I didn't
- 13:46Speaker 10: really anticipate how much Judan's loss would impact our secondary
- 13:50Speaker 10: and how much time teams have to throw the ball.
- 13:52Speaker 8: And a guy like Jimmy too.
- 13:53Speaker 10: He can get it out quick. So I just it
- 13:56Speaker 10: just puts so much more pressure on our secondary when
- 13:59Speaker 10: they are really attacking like that, and if they can
- 14:03Speaker 10: just I mean, there's I feel like there's guys that
- 14:05Speaker 10: can step up. I don't know how ouch will be.
- 14:07Speaker 10: He was on the injury report obviously, but young guys
- 14:10Speaker 10: Jennings like, it feels like there's enough depth there for
- 14:14Speaker 10: someone to step up.
- 14:15Speaker 1: The problem with that is, you know, if they throw
- 14:18Speaker 1: on first or second down, he's not even out there
- 14:21Speaker 1: most of the time.
- 14:22Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, you know, i'd have to look. I mean,
- 14:23Speaker 8: I think he was a little bit more rotational last week,
- 14:25Speaker 8: but yeah, but mostly.
- 14:27Speaker 9: Yeah, he only played like forty percent of the snaps
- 14:30Speaker 9: last week. I think it was like high thirties. But
- 14:32Speaker 9: I just get to find that was coming out of
- 14:34Speaker 9: that game that what got swept under the rug by
- 14:37Speaker 9: all the offensive issues was that they got no pressure
- 14:40Speaker 9: on Derek Carr none. I mean, twenty four percent pressure
- 14:43Speaker 9: rate with a forty eight percent blitz rate is horrible.
- 14:47Speaker 9: Like you that is, you're blitzing guys and you're not
- 14:50Speaker 9: getting home. And to Alex's point, that just left the
- 14:52Speaker 9: back end vulnerable in some spots. You know, they're playing
- 14:55Speaker 9: a lot of zone now because they don't have Christian
- 14:58Speaker 9: Gonzales to man up against everybody. Yeahs, yeah, and they're
- 15:02Speaker 9: in these like five six person zones in the back
- 15:05Speaker 9: end because they're blitzing and there's just a lot of
- 15:08Speaker 9: open space if you don't get home. And uh, you
- 15:10Speaker 9: know with Jimmy, he's he's the middle of the field guy.
- 15:14Speaker 9: He loves to throw in breaking routes. His like splits
- 15:18Speaker 9: compared comparatively, like inbreaking versus all other routes. It's incredible
- 15:22Speaker 9: how poor he is on everything else. You know, slants, digs,
- 15:26Speaker 9: crossers like that's that's his game, and if you can
- 15:29Speaker 9: take away those inside breaking routes, take away the slot
- 15:32Speaker 9: Kobe Myers, Hunter Renfro and force the ball outside, then
- 15:37Speaker 9: you give yourself a chance if you can pressure.
- 15:40Speaker 1: One of the things that I we talked about the
- 15:42Speaker 1: other day that's been missing from this Patriots offense is
- 15:46Speaker 1: that third down back option. Like that's always been the
- 15:49Speaker 1: thing that they kind of lived off, you know, that
- 15:52Speaker 1: bailed them out, you know, and it's just not happening anymore,
- 15:56Speaker 1: you know.
- 15:57Speaker 8: I Mean, I think we someonus thought that Time Oncoming
- 15:59Speaker 8: could be that guy. For whatever reason, they just don't
- 16:01Speaker 8: really seem too interested in involving him in the offense
- 16:04Speaker 8: right now. And I mean maybe that's a twist that
- 16:06Speaker 8: they could make, but they don't really seem as interested
- 16:09Speaker 8: in him as we kind of were after seeing him have.
- 16:11Speaker 10: Some solidli fumble last week that probably sent him back.
- 16:16Speaker 8: That didn't help for sure.
- 16:17Speaker 5: I have a dumb question with the third down back thing,
- 16:20Speaker 5: and it goes off of you a thing, Fred that
- 16:23Speaker 5: you always talk about about how easy they are to defend.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Might that have something to do with sort of a
- 16:28Speaker 5: de emphasis on the impact that the backs as receivers
- 16:32Speaker 5: have had, just because there's so many bodies around the
- 16:37Speaker 5: line of scrimmage playing against this offense. For the last
- 16:39Speaker 5: couple of years, it's been taken away, you know, like
- 16:42Speaker 5: Stevenson cut sixty nine passes last year. I mean, I mean,
- 16:47Speaker 5: that's a lot. I don't know how many more James
- 16:49Speaker 5: White in his heyday would catch.
- 16:51Speaker 8: Now.
- 16:51Speaker 5: I would definitely argue that James White as a consistent
- 16:56Speaker 5: on a consistent basis, is making more plays with those
- 16:58Speaker 5: catches than Stevenson did last year. But I just wonder
- 17:03Speaker 5: if maybe some of the staples that the Patriots used
- 17:06Speaker 5: in the past, maybe we're a little bit more effective
- 17:10Speaker 5: because it wasn't always you could just jam down on
- 17:13Speaker 5: the line scream. Now, there were some years that you
- 17:15Speaker 5: could do that, but you had some guys that could
- 17:18Speaker 5: make you know, like Gronk was stressing the scene, you know,
- 17:21Speaker 5: between the numbers down the field and that, you know,
- 17:24Speaker 5: that opens things up for those kinds of things. And
- 17:27Speaker 5: I just wonder how much is it the lack of
- 17:29Speaker 5: a third down back or the way that teams play
- 17:32Speaker 5: them now is a little bit different. And I don't, guys,
- 17:35Speaker 5: I don't have the answer to that question.
- 17:36Speaker 8: Maybe keeping guys in more to protect too. It's taken out,
- 17:39Speaker 8: But I also just think they're in a vacuum.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Like, you know, wouldn't you.
- 17:41Speaker 8: Kind of prefer not what they have specifically, but like,
- 17:44Speaker 8: wouldn't you prefer just to have two three down kind
- 17:47Speaker 8: of backs that can both kind of catch and you know,
- 17:49Speaker 8: like like wouldn't that be more? Like I understand your point, friend.
- 17:52Speaker 8: They certainly were effective with James White, but you know,
- 17:54Speaker 8: I think everybody was always like, well, it's predictable.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Like that's another thing, you know, the full back thing.
- 18:00Speaker 5: This whole conversation that I that I reference all the
- 18:02Speaker 5: time that I had. You know, it's like a couple of.
- 18:04Speaker 9: Years ago was listening to the same conversation. Yeah, oh,
- 18:06Speaker 9: it's too predictable to have James White. That was all
- 18:09Speaker 9: part of twenty balls in the Super Bowl part.
- 18:11Speaker 5: But we want to have a better how it worked
- 18:13Speaker 5: like Stevenson and then all of a sudden, Stevenson has
- 18:15Speaker 5: sixty nine catches and a thousand yards rushing and he's
- 18:18Speaker 5: worn down.
- 18:19Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, now there's got to be a balance. But
- 18:21Speaker 8: there's just still something appealing to me thinking about we
- 18:24Speaker 8: can roll Remandre out there on all three downs, and
- 18:26Speaker 8: you know, it gives us an element of power, It
- 18:28Speaker 8: gives us an element of a guy who can catch.
- 18:30Speaker 8: It gives a broken tackle ability that you know, if
- 18:32Speaker 8: you're in third and short or third and long, he
- 18:33Speaker 8: could both kind of be be effective. On paper, it
- 18:35Speaker 8: seems to make sense. I just ideally you'd love to
- 18:38Speaker 8: have someone as effective as James White was as a
- 18:40Speaker 8: pass catcher, which was just you know, above what Stevenson
- 18:44Speaker 8: kind of brings. You know, you're kind of more middling
- 18:46Speaker 8: with with.
- 18:47Speaker 9: Yeah, but I don't know what they're telling them in
- 18:49Speaker 9: terms of like scanning for blitzers, right, So maybe that's
- 18:55Speaker 9: part of the hesitancy coming out of the backfield. Is
- 18:58Speaker 9: all right, if they send somebody from the I'm responsible
- 19:01Speaker 9: for that player, so I have to peak before I go.
- 19:05Speaker 9: But the thing that I consistently have seen from them
- 19:09Speaker 9: is the backs bowl Zeke in Remandre. They take forever
- 19:12Speaker 9: to get out of the backfield, and it's like you
- 19:14Speaker 9: get if it's third, like run the route, Like get
- 19:17Speaker 9: out of the backfield and run the route. Because Mac,
- 19:20Speaker 9: you know, he's been under pressure a lot. There hasn't
- 19:23Speaker 9: been a lot of options down the field. And then
- 19:26Speaker 9: if he gets to that check down, or he gets
- 19:28Speaker 9: to Remandre in the progression and he's holding the ball
- 19:32Speaker 9: and waiting for Remandre to break and make a move
- 19:35Speaker 9: at the top of the route. Because remember a lot
- 19:36Speaker 9: of those running back roundes are options. You know, it's
- 19:40Speaker 9: not just a locked route of he's running a flat,
- 19:42Speaker 9: he's running an angle like they have these options, and
- 19:45Speaker 9: it just seems like it takes too long. And that's
- 19:47Speaker 9: the one reason why I've been pounding the table for
- 19:50Speaker 9: them to try time Montgomery back there, is because I
- 19:53Speaker 9: think he's faster than those players, and I think that
- 19:56Speaker 9: he can get out of the backfield a little bit quicker.
- 19:59Speaker 9: So I'm with Fred on this, Like, I think that
- 20:01Speaker 9: they have really missed that on third down, especially because
- 20:05Speaker 9: you know, you talk about in some of these games
- 20:07Speaker 9: where it's third and three, third and four, and and
- 20:11Speaker 9: Max looking well past the sticks to try to pick
- 20:13Speaker 9: up a first down, when it used to just be
- 20:16Speaker 9: let's get the back on the linebacker and let's pick
- 20:18Speaker 9: up five yards, and they just don't have that.
- 20:20Speaker 5: And I was just thinking that, like, it is funny
- 20:22Speaker 5: because it does seem like on third and three they're
- 20:25Speaker 5: looking downfield. On third and ten, that they never throw
- 20:28Speaker 5: it to the sticks. It's always short, right right, No
- 20:31Speaker 5: one expected, but I you know, I just was kind
- 20:33Speaker 5: of thinking of out of that first series again with
- 20:35Speaker 5: the second and two. It's downfield, downfield, and how many
- 20:38Speaker 5: times have we seen the yips, you know, even fourth
- 20:40Speaker 5: and ten, you know they're short of the sticks.
- 20:42Speaker 9: Yeah, and you're like like that third and two play
- 20:45Speaker 9: last week in the on the opening drive, like second
- 20:48Speaker 9: and two. We've talked, We talked about this on Tuesday.
- 20:50Speaker 9: I think you want to take a shot on second
- 20:52Speaker 9: and two. That makes total sense. You had an eight
- 20:54Speaker 9: yard run on first down. Play action, take a shot.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Loved it.
- 20:57Speaker 9: Third and two that used to just be like, all right,
- 21:00Speaker 9: let's just James White's just gonna run in the flat
- 21:03Speaker 9: and the linebacker is going to be too slow and
- 21:05Speaker 9: we're going to pick up three yards and we're going
- 21:07Speaker 9: to move the chain. And now that's just not an
- 21:09Speaker 9: option for them. And they tried to hit you know,
- 21:12Speaker 9: the route was concept did have Hermandre running a little
- 21:15Speaker 9: angle out of the backfield, but it just took too long,
- 21:17Speaker 9: like he just didn't take you know, Mac just didn't
- 21:20Speaker 9: have time to wait it out and ends up throwing
- 21:23Speaker 9: that pass and complete to Hunter Henry. So I don't
- 21:26Speaker 9: know why is thy Montgomery here, Like why is he
- 21:29Speaker 9: on the mean kicks?
- 21:31Speaker 1: Really jacked?
- 21:31Speaker 8: He looks good in the locker room, that's all. The
- 21:33Speaker 8: guy is ripped.
- 21:36Speaker 5: With other men.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Like, I just want he did get shape.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I just wonder, like if the blueprint is just so
- 21:43Speaker 1: apparent for the Patriots at this point, where if it's third,
- 21:47Speaker 1: third and whatever, and you've got you know, Remondre back
- 21:50Speaker 1: there or Zeke and he's lined up, you know, we're
- 21:54Speaker 1: gonna send pressure from that direction at max so he
- 21:58Speaker 1: doesn't feel like he can get ball to them. Yeah,
- 22:00Speaker 1: you know, and easy fix for the defense. Yeah, you know.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I just wonder, you know, like if there's certain keys
- 22:07Speaker 1: that opposing defenses have now that just work against the Patriots.
- 22:12Speaker 8: They got to break it this weekend. You've got to
- 22:14Speaker 8: figure out a way to try to take something to
- 22:16Speaker 8: the other team, because it just doesn't feel like they
- 22:18Speaker 8: haven't been able against this defense.
- 22:20Speaker 5: They should. They should. I'm not telling you they should
- 22:21Speaker 5: go out and get forty, but they should have more success.
- 22:24Speaker 9: I've always just been a fan.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I said that.
- 22:26Speaker 9: I've always just been a fan of if they're going
- 22:30Speaker 9: to send a blitz. I've always been of the school
- 22:33Speaker 9: thought that I would rather beat the blitz by throwing
- 22:35Speaker 9: to the running back instead of having him try to
- 22:37Speaker 9: pick up the blitz. Like obviously depends on the situation,
- 22:40Speaker 9: but like you know, picking up the blitz and taking
- 22:44Speaker 9: a guy out of the pass route and then having
- 22:47Speaker 9: to like find something else down the field versus just
- 22:50Speaker 9: all right, they're blitzing the slot off the left side,
- 22:53Speaker 9: let's just leak Remandre into the flat and he's just
- 22:55Speaker 9: gonna throw it right over the rights.
- 22:57Speaker 1: But and for a typical quarterback, that the play. But
- 23:01Speaker 1: maybe the word on Mac is out that what's he's
- 23:05Speaker 1: not gonna be accurate with that He's gonna fudge it up. Yeah,
- 23:07Speaker 1: he's not even you know, it's worth taking gets risk.
- 23:10Speaker 9: If he's gonna fudge that up, then, like I mean,
- 23:13Speaker 9: that's like as simple as a guess we got to
- 23:15Speaker 9: make a movie.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Well, I mean there was a play in Dallas where
- 23:20Speaker 1: he had I forget who it was born or whatever,
- 23:23Speaker 1: and he just misfired it into the ground, you know,
- 23:26Speaker 1: like because his head is like rattling.
- 23:29Speaker 8: Could we maybe use this to piggyback? I thought I
- 23:31Speaker 8: thought it was interesting. I mean, Doug and Callahan today,
- 23:34Speaker 8: everybody read that one. They had like a big long
- 23:38Speaker 8: He might have come out a little bit late.
- 23:39Speaker 5: I was looking for it in the clips and I
- 23:41Speaker 5: didn't see it.
- 23:42Speaker 8: I can't.
- 23:42Speaker 5: I can't read that.
- 23:43Speaker 8: It was pretty good. I mean, you know, nothing we
- 23:44Speaker 8: haven't heard. But I just what I've kind of taken
- 23:46Speaker 8: away from last day and Karen wrote it too, is
- 23:49Speaker 8: and I don't know if I agree with this. Do
- 23:50Speaker 8: you think this is Max's last chance? Like it like
- 23:52Speaker 8: people are kind of building this up. It's like this
- 23:53Speaker 8: is it for Mac Jones, like if you need this game,
- 23:55Speaker 8: this game, yeah, I mean, I mean that was kind
- 23:57Speaker 8: of how Karen wrote it. It was kind of how
- 23:59Speaker 8: those guys wrote it, even though they continue to say
- 24:02Speaker 8: they don't really have someone that they're willing to go to.
- 24:04Speaker 8: I just it just feels extreme to me. I mean,
- 24:06Speaker 8: and I you know, I have no illusions about what
- 24:08Speaker 8: Mac has done. But it also just sets up a
- 24:11Speaker 8: really interesting kind of thing.
- 24:14Speaker 1: If if if there are turnovers in this game that
- 24:17Speaker 1: are Matt's fault, I can see that because you can't
- 24:20Speaker 1: preach week in and week out, you can't turn the
- 24:24Speaker 1: ball over. You can't give the other team points and
- 24:27Speaker 1: then not do anything about it. When there's one guy who's,
- 24:32Speaker 1: whether it's his fault or not, there's one guy who's,
- 24:35Speaker 1: you know, doing it every week. You can't just leave
- 24:39Speaker 1: him in there everywhere.
- 24:40Speaker 5: Well what if it's not turnovers, it's just the same
- 24:42Speaker 5: but without the turnover.
- 24:43Speaker 1: If it's not turnovers, then I give him a little
- 24:45Speaker 1: bit more slack.
- 24:46Speaker 5: I wouldn't. I got to. I think you got to
- 24:48Speaker 5: make a move. I can't believe they didn't make a
- 24:49Speaker 5: move last week, and I think Bill wanted to. I
- 24:51Speaker 5: think that was the whole idea behind changing Monday and Tuesday,
- 24:56Speaker 5: was to sit down with everybody and figure out what
- 24:58Speaker 5: can we do? And then they looked around into Alex's point,
- 25:02Speaker 5: they said, well what can we do? You know, well, yeah,
- 25:07Speaker 5: I was thinking more either Zappi or a Greer. And
- 25:10Speaker 5: I wonder if they don't really feel like Greer's been
- 25:12Speaker 5: here long enough to be a legit option and Zappy.
- 25:15Speaker 5: We all know how they feel about Zappi. They cut
- 25:17Speaker 5: them so they don't have any faith in Zappi. Clearly, Well,
- 25:21Speaker 5: you don't cut a guy that you have belief in,
- 25:24Speaker 5: So maybe they. I think they came here on Monday.
- 25:27Speaker 5: I honestly do. I think Bill came here on Monday
- 25:30Speaker 5: with the intention of Max not starting this week, and
- 25:34Speaker 5: then they all talked to it and they said what
- 25:36Speaker 5: Alex said, like, Okay, that's great, but I don't know
- 25:39Speaker 5: who is starting as well.
- 25:41Speaker 9: Just stick with Mac the part of that piece. And
- 25:44Speaker 9: I know this is just going to probably be me
- 25:46Speaker 9: that that was the most disturbing, had nothing to do
- 25:48Speaker 9: with what's currently going on.
- 25:50Speaker 5: They had a.
- 25:52Speaker 9: Line in there that said that the Patriots front office
- 25:55Speaker 9: doesn't use analytics to scout.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Oh that's bull I know that for a fact.
- 26:00Speaker 9: What kind of analytics are they using?
- 26:02Speaker 1: They're using all of it. I'm telling you.
- 26:04Speaker 5: That was something.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I know that for a fact.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Freddie was actually intimately involved in it.
- 26:10Speaker 9: Interesting, So they said that's they said something along the lines.
- 26:14Speaker 9: I don't I don't have the exact quote, but they
- 26:17Speaker 9: said something along the lines that, like, their personnel decisions
- 26:20Speaker 9: are not analytically driven.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Well, let's put it this way. I know they're different.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I know they have people doing it. Whether or not
- 26:28Speaker 1: Bill is using another question. So I don't know that,
- 26:32Speaker 1: but I know they have people doing all the analytics
- 26:36Speaker 1: that all the other teams are doing.
- 26:37Speaker 9: I know that, right, So the reason why I bring
- 26:40Speaker 9: it up, And I know that a lot of people
- 26:41Speaker 9: are going to hear this and they'll be like, I'll
- 26:42Speaker 9: get your spreadsheet out of football Evan like YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 26:46Speaker 5: That would just be me.
- 26:48Speaker 9: I'm telling you that the teams that are winning in
- 26:52Speaker 9: the league right now are all analytically driven. I mean,
- 26:57Speaker 9: I asked Philadelphia.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Before last game. I don't mentioned his name. I asked,
- 27:01Speaker 1: do you know this guy on our step? You said, yeah,
- 27:04Speaker 1: he's doing it?
- 27:05Speaker 5: So so is it?
- 27:07Speaker 9: Maybe it's that because it's the line in the story
- 27:11Speaker 9: made sense given what we know that Bill's an old
- 27:14Speaker 9: school guy, right and telling him that the spreadsheet is
- 27:18Speaker 9: saying that, you know, Taekwon Thorton isn't the right pick,
- 27:21Speaker 9: and George Pickens is is probably telling Bill, like you know,
- 27:25Speaker 9: to go at himself, right like that.
- 27:27Speaker 1: That's I mean, these things come from somewhere. So maybe
- 27:30Speaker 1: there's someone that maybe there's a disgruntled person on the
- 27:33Speaker 1: staff saying he's not listening to us. We're producing all
- 27:37Speaker 1: this data and he's not taking it into consideration.
- 27:40Speaker 9: Yeah, but I don't know. I haven't say, like on
- 27:43Speaker 9: a game plane.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I still believe that Bill is not as entrenched as
- 27:49Speaker 1: people think. I think we've seen over the years he's
- 27:52Speaker 1: adapted to different things, and I think he's always open
- 27:56Speaker 1: to good ideas. I still believe that.
- 27:59Speaker 9: Yeah, I just think from a game plan perspective, like
- 28:02Speaker 9: if you know, I love the NNGS stuff, like I'll
- 28:05Speaker 9: look at like you know, I brought up like the
- 28:06Speaker 9: Inbreaking Rats with Jimmy Garoppolo, like those splits like that,
- 28:10Speaker 9: that makes it very clear to me, like this is
- 28:12Speaker 9: what he's good at. That's what he's not gonna If
- 28:14Speaker 9: you want to just tell me that Bill Belichick and
- 28:16Speaker 9: watch the film and tell you that, then that's fine.
- 28:18Speaker 9: Like I I believe that, Like I believe that he
- 28:20Speaker 9: doesn't need a NERD to tell him that Jimmy Garoppol
- 28:24Speaker 9: and I know nothing and I could tell you right
- 28:26Speaker 9: like I don't need I understand that Bill probably doesn't
- 28:29Speaker 9: need a NERD to tell him that Jimmy Garoppolo likes
- 28:30Speaker 9: throng slants, right.
- 28:32Speaker 1: But see there's a difference in with those next gen
- 28:35Speaker 1: stats when you're talking about in cuts verse out outside
- 28:40Speaker 1: the numbers, those are just facts. Those are facts that
- 28:45Speaker 1: the ng N stuff that our NGS stuff that you
- 28:49Speaker 1: know is a little bit more grays when they extrapolate
- 28:52Speaker 1: and they start doing you know, expectations over whatever. Yeah,
- 28:56Speaker 1: you know, that's more subjective I think. And it's based
- 29:00Speaker 1: on data, I know. But that's the stuff that I
- 29:02Speaker 1: think a lot of coaches like I don't know about that, right.
- 29:05Speaker 9: So that stuff, if you want to coach it your way,
- 29:07Speaker 9: that's fine. But when it comes to scouting and it
- 29:10Speaker 9: comes to player evaluation. The teams that are on the
- 29:14Speaker 9: cutting edge with the analytics stuff are Buffalo, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Miami,
- 29:23Speaker 9: San Francisco. What do they all have in common? They're winning, right,
- 29:30Speaker 9: So I'm just telling you that if the front office
- 29:34Speaker 9: and look, there's I'm a film guy. There's so much
- 29:37Speaker 9: room for film, right, But it's because they're evaluating the
- 29:42Speaker 9: players better. And there's always going to be a place
- 29:46Speaker 9: in the game for eye test that will always exist.
- 29:49Speaker 9: You got to watch the film, and you got to
- 29:51Speaker 9: watch the film and tell you what the film tells you.
- 29:53Speaker 9: But these other teams are using this data to supplement
- 29:58Speaker 9: their film study, their traditional scouting, and those are the
- 30:02Speaker 9: teams that are having success, and those are the teams
- 30:04Speaker 9: that are drafting well, and those are the teams that
- 30:07Speaker 9: are winning. And at some point you have to look
- 30:10Speaker 9: at that and say, well, if we're not doing it
- 30:12Speaker 9: on that level, you know, Philadelphia Howie Roseman, completely analytically
- 30:17Speaker 9: driven general manager, and look at what the Eagles have
- 30:21Speaker 9: put together. So at some point you have to like
- 30:24Speaker 9: look at that and say, like, that bothered me a lot.
- 30:26Speaker 9: If that, if they're not like if they're kind of
- 30:28Speaker 9: shoes shooing the nerds upstairs or downstairs or whatever you
- 30:32Speaker 9: want to call it, Like that's a problem, definitely.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Hurt Yeah, And I'll name a name. I can tell
- 30:38Speaker 1: you one person in the organization who does appreciate all
- 30:43Speaker 1: this stuff is Jonathan Kraft. I can tell you that,
- 30:46Speaker 1: like he's into it.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Yeah. And I don't know, and I don't pretend to
- 30:50Speaker 5: know the inner workings of how all these decisions are made,
- 30:52Speaker 5: but I kind of side with Fred a little bit
- 30:55Speaker 5: on Like, to me, there's a difference between boring, like
- 31:02Speaker 5: you know, the data, like like the example that Evan
- 31:05Speaker 5: uses about Garoppolo in his tendencies, like that to me
- 31:10Speaker 5: is more factual.
- 31:11Speaker 1: That's clear cut, right.
- 31:13Speaker 5: So if you're ignoring that and you're putting a game
- 31:15Speaker 5: plan together that doesn't take that into consideration, that's just
- 31:18Speaker 5: bad coaching.
- 31:19Speaker 9: Whereas the you know, like they're not talking about like
- 31:24Speaker 9: expected points at it, right, that's not what I'm talking about.
- 31:28Speaker 5: I know, I know you're not talking about that. But
- 31:30Speaker 5: when you start talking about some of these other things
- 31:32Speaker 5: that I think some of the old school coaches sort
- 31:35Speaker 5: of pooh pooh. It's like, did you guys catch that
- 31:38Speaker 5: chart that some guy tried to put together about sacks avoided?
- 31:43Speaker 5: And there are so many variables that go into a
- 31:46Speaker 5: play where a quarterback is sacked that cannot possibly be
- 31:49Speaker 5: put into consideration for that. Like there were some of
- 31:53Speaker 5: those sacks that Daniel Jones took in the Monday night
- 31:55Speaker 5: game against Seattle two weeks ago, where as soon as
- 31:57Speaker 5: he took the snap, a guy was on him, and
- 32:00Speaker 5: you automatically say, well, there's no chance unless and I
- 32:04Speaker 5: saw Tom Brady do this for twenty years, You're supposed
- 32:08Speaker 5: to know that that guy is gonna come unblocked and
- 32:11Speaker 5: not let that guy sack you do, you know what
- 32:14Speaker 5: I'm saying. Yeah, So these are the kinds of things
- 32:17Speaker 5: that I think take on a life of their own.
- 32:19Speaker 5: And this is not anti analytics or pro analytics. This
- 32:23Speaker 5: is just there's something that good coaches have to understand
- 32:29Speaker 5: why things happen.
- 32:30Speaker 10: Games don't happen in a vacuum, right.
- 32:32Speaker 9: Yeah, or anti I don't think that they're looking at
- 32:36Speaker 9: that type of stuff because it's it's a fred and
- 32:39Speaker 9: your point, it's it's subjective, right, Like it's it's subjective. Well,
- 32:44Speaker 9: I think the biggest thing that that teams that are
- 32:46Speaker 9: having a great success in the draft are looking at
- 32:49Speaker 9: are the player tracking data from college. So like, for example,
- 32:53Speaker 9: instead of judging a player on his forty yard dash time,
- 32:57Speaker 9: we're gonna judge him on in game speed. How fast
- 33:00Speaker 9: does he run in pads on a football field with
- 33:04Speaker 9: and without the football?
- 33:05Speaker 1: To me, that makes more sense, right, So.
- 33:08Speaker 9: They have that technology now to do that. So I'm
- 33:12Speaker 9: not saying that this is necessarily true. But Taekwon Thornton
- 33:15Speaker 9: ran a fourty eight. But what happens if taekwon forty
- 33:18Speaker 9: Thornton's forty eight doesn't actually translate to Sundays Like it's
- 33:23Speaker 9: he's not actually as fast in a game as he
- 33:25Speaker 9: is on the track and that is the type of
- 33:29Speaker 9: stuff that you know, like a team like you know,
- 33:32Speaker 9: I keep on bringing up Philadelphia. Howie Roseman doesn't even
- 33:35Speaker 9: go to the combine anymore because he doesn't give it
- 33:38Speaker 9: rats right, Like he just looks. He just looks at
- 33:40Speaker 9: it and says, I like, here we have all this
- 33:44Speaker 9: this and this next gen type stuff, this player tracking data.
- 33:47Speaker 9: And I know that you know DeVante Smith runs x
- 33:53Speaker 9: miles an hour in game, So what difference does it
- 33:55Speaker 9: make if he runs a forty or not?
- 33:57Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, for example, lineback like I guess if you're
- 34:02Speaker 1: a sideline to sideline linebackers, speed is a big deal.
- 34:05Speaker 1: But for me, what's his first step? Like, if there's
- 34:10Speaker 1: a way to say his first step is nine the
- 34:15Speaker 1: right first step, it's you know, his instincts are right.
- 34:19Speaker 1: That makes up a lot of times for you know,
- 34:21Speaker 1: not being right.
- 34:24Speaker 5: You need that speed data that they track, and the
- 34:27Speaker 5: Patriots have been doing that for years just like everybody else.
- 34:30Speaker 5: But you also need the other part of it too,
- 34:32Speaker 5: because you can't just have you know, the guy who
- 34:36Speaker 5: you know doesn't.
- 34:36Speaker 1: What's his path to the ball? Right, they have to
- 34:41Speaker 1: wear Olympics I know, I know they have that now.
- 34:43Speaker 9: Yeah, like the dots, like that's what the dots do.
- 34:46Speaker 9: They have that and the dots will show you like
- 34:48Speaker 9: he went he falls step this way and then he
- 34:51Speaker 9: corrected himself. And then they also have data like closing
- 34:54Speaker 9: speed on the ball. So a guy that was really
- 34:57Speaker 9: good at that is is Mapu Maphus really a good
- 35:00Speaker 9: closing speed So even if he falls steps, he's one
- 35:03Speaker 9: of those guys that he can make up for it.
- 35:06Speaker 5: But other guys like the Bentley Gonzalo, Yeah.
- 35:09Speaker 9: Maybe Bentley can't do the every speed.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and maybe they.
- 35:13Speaker 9: Drafted Mapu knowing that. Like I'm not saying that. I
- 35:15Speaker 9: just I was just going off of what the Harold
- 35:17Speaker 9: was saying. And if they're ignoring that kind of stuff,
- 35:20Speaker 9: then that almost it kind of makes like it kind
- 35:23Speaker 9: of rings true to me, Like, Okay, they can't draft
- 35:26Speaker 9: and they're not like using the analytics. Oh, I wonder why.
- 35:29Speaker 5: Like so I saw that story, but I wasn't, like
- 35:32Speaker 5: I said, I wasn't able to read it. Whether the
- 35:34Speaker 5: are quotes get in the story number after but.
- 35:38Speaker 1: But to me, you have to do it in the
- 35:41Speaker 1: right order. The numbers have to show up on film,
- 35:46Speaker 1: not the other way around. Oh, the film shows up
- 35:48Speaker 1: in numbers. No, the numbers have to Like you look
- 35:51Speaker 1: at the numbers. Is it showing up on film? That's
- 35:55Speaker 1: the way it has to be, because if it isn't,
- 35:57Speaker 1: I don't care what the numbers say, you know what
- 35:59Speaker 1: I mean? Yeah, the numbers have to show up on film.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Like the numbers can lead you to the player, but
- 36:06Speaker 1: then you have to watch the film, you know. Like
- 36:10Speaker 1: I I was talking to some of this is a
- 36:11Speaker 1: different sport. It was about soccer, and they're talking about
- 36:13Speaker 1: goalies in the expected goals say like over it expectations.
- 36:20Speaker 1: This person was saying, I knew this goalie was going
- 36:22Speaker 1: to be good without even seeing him. And I was thinking, like, so,
- 36:25Speaker 1: how can that be true? You know, you have to
- 36:28Speaker 1: watch the goalie. Yeah, you know, but his number said
- 36:30Speaker 1: that his numbers of goals saved above expectation was just
- 36:35Speaker 1: out of this world.
- 36:36Speaker 5: See Whereas my guess is Bill, knowing Bill, like I've
- 36:42Speaker 5: watched him for twenty plus years, would probably look at
- 36:45Speaker 5: that and say, if I was the one compiling that data,
- 36:48Speaker 5: I would trust it. Yeah, do you know what I mean?
- 36:51Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 36:51Speaker 5: And he comes to I think that's what it is.
- 36:54Speaker 5: You make a logical, you know, conclusion about that soccer goalie, Yeah,
- 36:59Speaker 5: who's to turning what his you know, goes above expectation
- 37:05Speaker 5: is right because not everybody looks at it the same way.
- 37:07Speaker 9: It's not it's not charting, it's they're looking at a
- 37:13Speaker 9: series of like results over a period of time, and
- 37:16Speaker 9: they're saying, if the puck or the ball is shot here,
- 37:21Speaker 9: and we take all thirty goalies in the MLS or
- 37:24Speaker 9: whatever it is, how many of when they in the
- 37:27Speaker 9: heat map when it goes to this location, how many
- 37:30Speaker 9: guys are saving it and how many guys aren't? So
- 37:32Speaker 9: all this is this is all data driven. Like it's
- 37:35Speaker 9: not like somebody's grading the fight.
- 37:37Speaker 5: If I'm watching it and a guy has a breakaway
- 37:40Speaker 5: and he doesn't score, it doesn't to me automatically go
- 37:43Speaker 5: down as that that's a safe above expectation. I need
- 37:47Speaker 5: to see the move. Does he shoot it right into
- 37:49Speaker 5: his chest? Is it a bruin? With the game on
- 37:52Speaker 5: the line?
- 37:53Speaker 4: Wow?
- 37:53Speaker 8: You know, so like we just put that season behind.
- 37:57Speaker 5: I know, and I thought that they should have had
- 37:59Speaker 5: about twelve goals last night. It was very to be
- 38:04Speaker 5: honest with you, I was very encouraged by last night.
- 38:06Speaker 5: I thought that you had a lot of good offense
- 38:08Speaker 5: for a team I thought was going to struggle to
- 38:10Speaker 5: create offense.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Marsh and had a bunny.
- 38:12Speaker 5: But that's my little that's my little fifteen second Bruins point.
- 38:17Speaker 8: Patta, all right, I thought looked good. Yeah, that first
- 38:21Speaker 8: pass was good. Ye had a couple of turn on
- 38:23Speaker 8: all right?
- 38:23Speaker 9: This okay, hockey guys.
- 38:25Speaker 1: This stuff to digest. Here the stuff to digest. And
- 38:27Speaker 1: then there's all the off field chatter that everyone's talking
- 38:31Speaker 1: about right now. And we've getten a lot of emails
- 38:33Speaker 1: on those subjects. We'll get to them as well. You know,
- 38:37Speaker 1: we'll see what's going.
- 38:38Speaker 9: I'm sorry to go on.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I'm eager to.
- 38:41Speaker 5: Get to I think the analytics stuff is interesting.
- 38:43Speaker 1: I'm eager to get to line three.
- 38:45Speaker 5: I's like, let me rephrase that, I think the use
- 38:47Speaker 5: of analytics stuff is interesting. I let you decide.
- 38:51Speaker 9: Just like the last thing I'll say is just like
- 38:53Speaker 9: with Juju versus Jacoby, and I think this was the
- 38:56Speaker 9: context that it was kind of brought up in.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Uh.
- 38:58Speaker 9: The one thing that Kobe definitely had in his favor
- 39:02Speaker 9: was a lot of like the advanced like separation analytics
- 39:06Speaker 9: and stuff like that, and so it was brought up
- 39:08Speaker 9: in the context of that of player evaluation, and it
- 39:11Speaker 9: does make you wonder, like, they watched Juju and they
- 39:14Speaker 9: watched Jacoby, but did they look at the fact that
- 39:17Speaker 9: Jacoby against man coverage was a much better separator based
- 39:20Speaker 9: off the math than Juju was. And that was sort
- 39:24Speaker 9: of the insinuation. I think that Andrew and Donner make it.
- 39:27Speaker 5: When they made that move, all of the math guys
- 39:29Speaker 5: told me how wrong I was.
- 39:31Speaker 8: Well, then that makes more sense with Andrew's question yesterday
- 39:34Speaker 8: that he asked Bill about pressure rate, No the Jacoby
- 39:37Speaker 8: Myers one where he said, you know, coaches have said
- 39:40Speaker 8: they praised Jacoby's ability to separate. Do you think your
- 39:42Speaker 8: team has a problem separating? That was kind of how
- 39:45Speaker 8: he asked the question, which just seemed strange to me.
- 39:47Speaker 1: But off air, let's go to the ACE ticket houtline.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Patty's an aguam. What's up? Patty?
- 39:57Speaker 6: Hey, you get afternoon everyone, Patty. I got a weird question,
- 40:02Speaker 6: and this is not my opinion. I just had the
- 40:05Speaker 6: spot in my head yesterday and I said, it's not
- 40:09Speaker 6: my opinion, it's just an idea. I wanted to get
- 40:11Speaker 6: your guys thoughts on it. And I don't know who
- 40:14Speaker 6: came up with the idea last year, Matt Patricia or
- 40:17Speaker 6: Bill Belichick, the switch to more of a Shanahan offense.
- 40:20Speaker 6: But do you think maybe looking at the offense this
- 40:23Speaker 6: year and down the stretch of twenty one that Weber's
- 40:26Speaker 6: idea that was maybe they were onto something.
- 40:31Speaker 9: Onto something.
- 40:33Speaker 1: So you're thinking after twenty one they made the decision
- 40:37Speaker 1: to do this this you know, more of the wide run,
- 40:42Speaker 1: the Shanahan type of zone runs, and you think maybe
- 40:47Speaker 1: they were onto something. Maybe they should have kept doing
- 40:49Speaker 1: that this year. Is that what you're saying?
- 40:52Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean they are they obviously.
- 40:54Speaker 6: The wrong guy to teach it and to run the offense.
- 40:58Speaker 6: But I mean, look at look at how abysmal they
- 41:01Speaker 6: were down the spreads of twenty one. How the same
- 41:05Speaker 6: pattern that they started this year where they would fall
- 41:08Speaker 6: behind a game, you know, they couldn't get They never
- 41:11Speaker 6: really had any good starts. I think Minnesota when they
- 41:14Speaker 6: played Minnesota and Thanksgiving that was really the last time
- 41:17Speaker 6: they had like a good start to a game. And
- 41:20Speaker 6: I'm not, like I said, I'm not saying it's my opinion.
- 41:23Speaker 6: It just kicked around in my head and there's a
- 41:25Speaker 6: plenty of space up there to kick around.
- 41:28Speaker 5: I think you can make an argument that the Patriots
- 41:31Speaker 5: need sort of an infusion of a new offensive look,
- 41:36Speaker 5: but I think they've tried it and it hasn't worked.
- 41:39Speaker 5: So this goes to Fred's point, at some point you
- 41:43Speaker 5: have to figure out a way to get better players. Yeah, well,
- 41:46Speaker 5: another point, whatever scheme you want to implement.
- 41:48Speaker 8: Another thing from this article was that they were studying
- 41:51Speaker 8: the Rams offense was what they were trying to pull
- 41:53Speaker 8: from that what they say in the Herald.
- 41:55Speaker 5: So yeah, it's a.
- 41:58Speaker 9: I would just say to Patty's like question that they
- 42:00Speaker 9: are running Shanahan's concepts in the run game. More Mike's
- 42:05Speaker 9: right in the Herald's right in my opinion, more McVeigh.
- 42:09Speaker 9: But in general, they're an outside zone and duo team,
- 42:14Speaker 9: like that's the two things that they do, and that's
- 42:15Speaker 9: what McVeigh does. Like I think a lot of people
- 42:17Speaker 9: think that McVeigh is all outside zone. Double team's gap, right,
- 42:23Speaker 9: just double team, two double teams in the in the
- 42:26Speaker 9: middle of the line of scrimmage and then usually like
- 42:29Speaker 9: in mcveigh's system, and the Patriots have used their tight
- 42:32Speaker 9: ends in this way, they'll have somebody insert from emotion
- 42:35Speaker 9: right and they'll insert kind of like as a lead
- 42:37Speaker 9: blocker up the middle, and that's that's their inside run
- 42:41Speaker 9: in mcvay's offense. So their outside run is zone, their
- 42:45Speaker 9: inside run is duo most of the time. And in
- 42:49Speaker 9: the Super Bowl in fifty three, they didn't the Rams
- 42:53Speaker 9: didn't have they didn't have duo, they didn't have a
- 42:59Speaker 9: lot of inside answers. They were they evolved in that respect.
- 43:04Speaker 9: They were very very heavy outside zone early on in
- 43:08Speaker 9: mcveigh's coaching career, and so the Patriots had those double
- 43:12Speaker 9: edges and they just like they knew what was coming
- 43:15Speaker 9: the next evolution for McVeigh and that when they won
- 43:19Speaker 9: the Super Bowl with Stafford, a big reason why they
- 43:22Speaker 9: won was because that he he found a left hand.
- 43:26Speaker 9: You know, he Okay, you're gonna play that six to
- 43:28Speaker 9: one tilt. We're going to play outside zone. We're going
- 43:31Speaker 9: to run it up the middle on you. We're gonna
- 43:33Speaker 9: run duo. So the Patriots have tried to that's what
- 43:37Speaker 9: they do, like single back, outside zone duo. That's that's
- 43:40Speaker 9: their offense right now. So if you think that was
- 43:42Speaker 9: the right idea, then you're telling me that this is
- 43:45Speaker 9: good what we're watching.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Uh, it all comes down to execution, though, you know,
- 43:51Speaker 1: Manual in New Bedford. What's what's up? E Manual?
- 43:55Speaker 12: Hey, what's going on?
- 43:57Speaker 1: Hey?
- 43:57Speaker 8: Hey?
- 43:58Speaker 13: Just this?
- 43:58Speaker 5: Do you hear me? Yeah?
- 44:00Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah.
- 44:02Speaker 12: So I got I gotta I gotta take.
- 44:04Speaker 1: And then I got a question for you guys.
- 44:06Speaker 12: So so my question would be, do you guys feel
- 44:11Speaker 12: like Max's work ethic is pretty good? You know what
- 44:14Speaker 12: I kind of mean by that is Max's been in
- 44:17Speaker 12: the league for three years, you know, and and again
- 44:19Speaker 12: I hate to compare him to Brady because there's no
- 44:21Speaker 12: one that's gonna ever be like Brady. But Brady used
- 44:24Speaker 12: to talk a lot about building chemistry with the players,
- 44:28Speaker 12: you know, and that was his big take on things.
- 44:31Speaker 12: And again he had great chemistry with guys like Ronk
- 44:34Speaker 12: and m Mondola and Edelman, you know what, Like it
- 44:38Speaker 12: just makes me question what does Mac really do during
- 44:40Speaker 12: the offseason, you know, Like, again, he's been in the
- 44:43Speaker 12: league for three years, and is he really taking the
- 44:46Speaker 12: time to develop that chemistry with his receivers, you know,
- 44:49Speaker 12: figuring out what they what they like, figuring out like
- 44:52Speaker 12: their their strength and their weaknesses. You know, and again
- 44:55Speaker 12: we always hear about him talking about after the post
- 44:58Speaker 12: game shows about and we all need to be better
- 45:01Speaker 12: as a team, which it was one hundred percent right,
- 45:03Speaker 12: But do we ever again we talked about the lack
- 45:07Speaker 12: of the big struggles of the offensive line. Obviously it
- 45:12Speaker 12: just he doesn't get the ball out in time, But
- 45:15Speaker 12: does he ever think about like, hey, maybe we can
- 45:17Speaker 12: just try to work on getting the ball out quicker,
- 45:20Speaker 12: like try like again, let me take accountability, you know,
- 45:23Speaker 12: Let's just try to get the ball out quicker. Get
- 45:25Speaker 12: the ball out quicker, you know, and then again once
- 45:28Speaker 12: that that develops, that's becomes well, sure offensive line really developed. Hey,
- 45:32Speaker 12: let's try to work on some deep, deep, deep feel passive.
- 45:37Speaker 1: I hear what you're saying to man question, Thanks for
- 45:39Speaker 1: the call. I think that Mac does try to work
- 45:43Speaker 1: with these guys, whether it's before practice, after practice, offseason.
- 45:47Speaker 1: I think his little comment a couple of weeks ago
- 45:50Speaker 1: about it's not it's not good enough if only a
- 45:53Speaker 1: few guys put in the extra work might be talking
- 45:57Speaker 1: about maybe one or two of his own receivers. That's
- 45:59Speaker 1: how I took it, you know, I think Mac is
- 46:02Speaker 1: out there always willing to put in the extra work.
- 46:05Speaker 1: I don't know how much buy in he gets from Mac.
- 46:08Speaker 10: Is also one of the last ones off the practice
- 46:10Speaker 10: field too, Like we do the static cams down there
- 46:12Speaker 10: and the whole team will come by after practice.
- 46:14Speaker 8: He's always no I.
- 46:16Speaker 1: And if there's one thing that Bill has praised about him,
- 46:20Speaker 1: if there's one thing that Bill has praised, it's his
- 46:22Speaker 1: work ethics. It's kind of what he's tally in laid
- 46:24Speaker 1: out it, but that doesn't mean anything unless like you
- 46:27Speaker 1: can be rolling that rock up this way, but if
- 46:30Speaker 1: I told you to roll it this way, you're putting
- 46:32Speaker 1: in hard work. But is it smart work?
- 46:34Speaker 8: Well this is sorry, I didn't need to cut you off,
- 46:36Speaker 8: but I mean it's kind of what Mac talked about
- 46:38Speaker 8: yesterday of just getting He said, you know, these are
- 46:40Speaker 8: some guys who are some of my best friends on
- 46:42Speaker 8: the field and off the field, and you know it
- 46:44Speaker 8: for me, it seemed, you know, really obvious yesterday that
- 46:47Speaker 8: his theme is kind of getting back to having fun
- 46:49Speaker 8: and relaxing and playing football with your friends. And it
- 46:52Speaker 8: seems that's kind of what the approach is that he's
- 46:54Speaker 8: taken this week. Whether it works or not. But I
- 46:56Speaker 8: think everything he said is you know, I don't have
- 46:58Speaker 8: any problem with Max's work ethic, with his leaderships, you know,
- 47:01Speaker 8: all that stuff. I mean, we can talk about some
- 47:03Speaker 8: of his personality stuff and how he's dealt with some adversity,
- 47:05Speaker 8: but just in terms of preparing for the season, staying
- 47:08Speaker 8: after practice, getting here, I mean, I don't think you've
- 47:10Speaker 8: ever heard any complaints about that.
- 47:11Speaker 9: It's one, I don't think I have any problems with
- 47:13Speaker 9: his work ethic, but his leadership is separate from that.
- 47:17Speaker 1: In order to be to get the buy in, you
- 47:20Speaker 1: have to be a leader. People have to say, Okay,
- 47:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna do what this guy tells me because it's going.
- 47:24Speaker 8: To make me a better play and you need results too,
- 47:26Speaker 8: and that's you know, like, let's face it, like, no
- 47:28Speaker 8: matter what you're kind of like, if you win games,
- 47:30Speaker 8: guys will get behind you and want to play with you.
- 47:31Speaker 8: But at a certain point, especially when you keep killing
- 47:33Speaker 8: your team early in the game, and you know, you
- 47:35Speaker 8: heard Mayo kind of say yesterday, I'd be lying if
- 47:37Speaker 8: I didn't say that it has an effect on the
- 47:39Speaker 8: defense and that they're you know, unfortunately disappointed with you know,
- 47:43Speaker 8: the way games have been starting. So you know, that's
- 47:45Speaker 8: going through the team, and I think if he has
- 47:47Speaker 8: some success, yeah.
- 47:50Speaker 9: I just think like in terms of yeah, he mentioned
- 47:54Speaker 9: Macy mentioned yesterday about communicating more with his receivers, and
- 47:58Speaker 9: I get that you have to have some cachet to
- 48:00Speaker 9: get people to buy in. And he's not playing well
- 48:03Speaker 9: and he hasn't accomplished He doesn't have a resume in
- 48:05Speaker 9: the league really, so that that makes it difficult. But
- 48:09Speaker 9: if the one thing that I like kind of noticed
- 48:12Speaker 9: with him is that like he's kind of in his
- 48:14Speaker 9: own world on the sideline. Yeah, you know, he might
- 48:17Speaker 9: be with Billy, oh, but like he's kind of in
- 48:19Speaker 9: his own world. And it's like if you have a
- 48:21Speaker 9: bad play on the drive before because the receiver ran
- 48:24Speaker 9: the wrong route, go up to the guy and be like, hey,
- 48:27Speaker 9: like that that's not that's not good enough, Like we
- 48:30Speaker 9: need to be you know. Nowose are the types of
- 48:31Speaker 9: things that Brady used to do. And I get that
- 48:33Speaker 9: Brady had the cachet to do it, But at the
- 48:35Speaker 9: same time, like you gotta like fake it till you
- 48:38Speaker 9: make it, man, Like you know, if you notice that
- 48:41Speaker 9: you threw a pick or you threw a third down
- 48:43Speaker 9: that wasn't completed because the receiver ran the route incorrectly
- 48:47Speaker 9: then correct him, like I WoT this way.
- 48:50Speaker 1: I wonder if early on he started trying to do
- 48:52Speaker 1: that and he got rebuffed and now he's It's.
- 48:55Speaker 5: A some point that Mike just made that I really
- 48:58Speaker 5: hadn't thought of in that regard. But you about the
- 49:00Speaker 5: That's what he did in camp. Remember when we used to.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Watch the camp, like would go over the guys.
- 49:05Speaker 5: No, he'd be by himself. Not well, yeah, he'd be
- 49:08Speaker 5: visualizing by himself.
- 49:09Speaker 1: He did do that.
- 49:10Speaker 5: Think makes a really good point, but.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Later, but I do remember, like in spring camp, maybe
- 49:16Speaker 1: it was last year, like him going up to the
- 49:18Speaker 1: guys after plays and talking and I think and we
- 49:22Speaker 1: called it out. But Paul's right, he also did that
- 49:25Speaker 1: whole thing where he was visualizing by himself.
- 49:28Speaker 5: I don't mean to steal your point. I think I
- 49:29Speaker 5: think I just lifted in.
- 49:31Speaker 8: I just lifted in.
- 49:32Speaker 1: It was more when like there was another quarterback taking reps,
- 49:35Speaker 1: he would be off on his own.
- 49:37Speaker 5: Well that's when he should be with his receipt.
- 49:39Speaker 8: But I remember at the time we were kind of
- 49:40Speaker 8: speculating that maybe Max still is kind of pissed about
- 49:43Speaker 8: last year and that you know, he was kind of
- 49:45Speaker 8: pouting by himself, and you know it seems like, really,
- 49:48Speaker 8: what I mean, that's still poss I thought that was.
- 49:49Speaker 5: The most interesting thing that he said when he talked
- 49:52Speaker 5: about I've been told that I was a good communicator
- 49:54Speaker 5: and I need to do a better job of that.
- 49:56Speaker 10: He seems isolated right now, right, poor Mac.
- 49:59Speaker 1: All right, Paul, So we need to take a break.
- 50:02Speaker 1: We'll be right get in on the action.

- 50:53Speaker 15: We are back with the PU halftime show. Fatis Balmon here,
- 50:57Speaker 15: joined by Faith.
- 50:58Speaker 3: We're all third time join, Yes, third time is the charge.
- 51:01Speaker 5: There we go.
- 51:02Speaker 15: All right, We're gonna start with some trivia to win
- 51:04Speaker 15: an unfiltered T shirt Official Unfiltered T shirt.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Question one?
- 51:10Speaker 15: What year did the Patriots first debut their home color
- 51:14Speaker 15: Rush jersey? And what was the first game that they
- 51:16Speaker 15: wore them?
- 51:17Speaker 16: I missed Color Rush?
- 51:18Speaker 11: All right?
- 51:19Speaker 3: How many? Question two?
- 51:20Speaker 15: How many field goal attempts did Adam Vinitari complete and
- 51:24Speaker 15: make in the Super Bowls he played in? Also, how
- 51:27Speaker 15: many Pats did he attempt and make?
- 51:29Speaker 11: A right?
- 51:30Speaker 3: That includes Colts by the way, I think he played
- 51:32Speaker 3: one with the Colts.
- 51:34Speaker 8: Question three?
- 51:36Speaker 3: Which player made a key pass break up in Super
- 51:39Speaker 3: Bowl fifty three? That's a gimme, right, I know one? Yeah,
- 51:42Speaker 3: there we go.
- 51:43Speaker 15: All right, let's get into it. Today is Thursday, October twelfth,
- 51:49Speaker 15: and it's a big Thursday Night tilt. We got the
- 51:52Speaker 15: Broncos versus.
- 51:54Speaker 3: The Chiefs and Faith.
- 51:55Speaker 15: You might not know, but the Chiefs have a little
- 51:58Speaker 15: bit of a win streak going against the Broncos. I
- 52:01Speaker 15: had no idea it's fifteen straight, similar to do we
- 52:04Speaker 15: The Pats of fifteen against the Jets were at fifteen
- 52:06Speaker 15: or six leave so fifteen I think fifteen. So this
- 52:10Speaker 15: is a big game. The Broncos are off a tough
- 52:14Speaker 15: loss to the Jets, which there was also some off
- 52:18Speaker 15: field stuff going on. Sean Payton said some not nice
- 52:22Speaker 15: things about Nathaniel Hackett, and it looks.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Like Hackett got the last laugh.
- 52:25Speaker 16: Yes he did.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Faith.
- 52:27Speaker 3: What do you have on this game? We are you thinking?
- 52:29Speaker 11: So every week on my own podcast, Playmaker's Perspective, check
- 52:33Speaker 11: it out like and subscribe absolutely. I usually pick, you know,
- 52:37Speaker 11: I gotta have faith underdog of the week. I glanced
- 52:41Speaker 11: right over this one. I didn't even really stop to
- 52:42Speaker 11: consider the Broncos winning in Arrowhead. I just think like
- 52:47Speaker 11: the Chiefs obviously took the loss to the Lions in
- 52:49Speaker 11: Week one, shocking upset for the Lions, cool story, and
- 52:53Speaker 11: then they've just been bulldozing everybody else, obviously wrestling with
- 52:56Speaker 11: some injuries.
- 52:57Speaker 16: Travis Kelcey himself.
- 52:59Speaker 3: Swift take over the synthetic turf debate.
- 53:02Speaker 11: We had yesterday, honestly, but like for him to even
- 53:05Speaker 11: be injured in the game that come back and score
- 53:07Speaker 11: a touchdown, like they're just fine.
- 53:09Speaker 16: I don't see them slowing down.
- 53:12Speaker 8: The thing.
- 53:12Speaker 15: The only reason I'm going to pick the Chiefs is
- 53:15Speaker 15: just because the only reason, yes, the only this screams
- 53:18Speaker 15: trap game, it really does. But I think losing to
- 53:22Speaker 15: the Jets, I think Sean Payton despises Russell Wilson.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Oh, they have a good team. I think he's over it.
- 53:29Speaker 3: He's locked in with them.
- 53:30Speaker 15: They're losing and Russell Wilson's making Sean Payton look bad now,
- 53:34Speaker 15: So I think he's That's something to look forward to
- 53:36Speaker 15: in the offseason what happens with them. But the only
- 53:40Speaker 15: way the Broncos win this game is if Kelsey last
- 53:43Speaker 15: minute and active.
- 53:44Speaker 16: M That's fair.
- 53:45Speaker 11: I do think like with Sean Payton, because he said
- 53:48Speaker 11: and the Hackett did the worst coaching job in the NFL.
- 53:51Speaker 1: He might not be wrong.
- 53:51Speaker 16: I'm just saying, which that's a lot.
- 53:54Speaker 11: To say when you're taking over the same Broncos team
- 53:56Speaker 11: that he had to deal with and now you're one
- 53:58Speaker 11: and four and it's like.
- 54:00Speaker 15: Said, they do look better, though, I mean, is the
- 54:05Speaker 15: problem faith last year they had the fans counting down
- 54:08Speaker 15: the play clock for them, like that is as unorganized.
- 54:11Speaker 16: As that's fair, that's fair.
- 54:13Speaker 3: But you're right he can't. He has a long way
- 54:16Speaker 3: to go.
- 54:17Speaker 15: I want to talk about the Kelsey injury because I
- 54:19Speaker 15: was on the field during the game for the past game,
- 54:21Speaker 15: so I wasn't doing my normal I was on the
- 54:23Speaker 15: field for our game against the Saints. I don't want
- 54:25Speaker 15: to talk about that, but I didn't get to watch,
- 54:27Speaker 15: you know, my normal red zone. So I was checking
- 54:30Speaker 15: some highlights and when I first saw that injury, I
- 54:32Speaker 15: thought he blew out his achilles.
- 54:33Speaker 16: Yeah, it was a tough fall.
- 54:35Speaker 15: And we all know mahomes great player. He's not the
- 54:39Speaker 15: same without Kelsey. He's really not man like. Really, let
- 54:43Speaker 15: is go to These Thursday night games are tough, they
- 54:45Speaker 15: really are. Turn around is a quick turnaround, like these
- 54:49Speaker 15: guys like they get hit so much and then you're
- 54:52Speaker 15: asked to travel.
- 54:53Speaker 3: So I don't know. I really don't know what to
- 54:56Speaker 3: expect in this one.
- 54:57Speaker 16: You know, it would be awesome. I'm gonna watch it wardless.
- 55:00Speaker 16: It's gonna be awesome.
- 55:01Speaker 11: If the Broncos figure out some form of a cheat
- 55:04Speaker 11: code and figure out how to make it close. I
- 55:06Speaker 11: don't see the Chiefs letting the Broncos ultimately win. I mean,
- 55:10Speaker 11: this is a division game, like.
- 55:11Speaker 16: This is never know for them.
- 55:13Speaker 11: I feel like the Broncos' best case scenario is this
- 55:16Speaker 11: they can keep their offense on the field longer than
- 55:19Speaker 11: the Chiefs so that hopefully, you know, they can keep
- 55:22Speaker 11: it within maybe one score. But I just don't see
- 55:26Speaker 11: the Chiefs going like having in Arrowhead a.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Division game, know where it was, I was checking where
- 55:32Speaker 3: it was, Like, I just like it's just.
- 55:34Speaker 11: One of those games where it's like they're gonna find
- 55:37Speaker 11: a way to win, and I don't know. A side note,
- 55:39Speaker 11: I feel like it's hilarious that like when Patrick Mahomes
- 55:42Speaker 11: got injured in the playoffs, like how quickly he was
- 55:44Speaker 11: able to turn around Kelsey looks like he tears his achilles,
- 55:48Speaker 11: comes right back out the locker room, scores a touchdown
- 55:50Speaker 11: for brain.
- 55:50Speaker 3: An by the way, sprained ankle by the way, yeah
- 55:53Speaker 3: way better.
- 55:54Speaker 11: Of course, what do they do in Kansas City to
- 55:57Speaker 11: heal their players so fast? It's crazy to be they
- 55:59Speaker 11: turn around like nothing and they come out and make
- 56:01Speaker 11: big plays.
- 56:01Speaker 15: I mean, well, we'll see what happens. I mean, the
- 56:05Speaker 15: Broncos just got to air it out. I don't really
- 56:07Speaker 15: trust their run game, and I think you just gotta
- 56:08Speaker 15: take chances. That's the only way it sucks. You're not
- 56:10Speaker 15: supposed to get into a shootout with the Chiefs, but
- 56:12Speaker 15: you have to do it.
- 56:14Speaker 3: But faith, let's get did your did your podcast come
- 56:18Speaker 3: out already?
- 56:18Speaker 5: Yes?
- 56:19Speaker 3: Okay, let's let's get to keep the faith there. Okay, exactly, Sorry,
- 56:23Speaker 3: gotta have fa gotta have faith. What's what's the score?
- 56:25Speaker 11: So I'm when I was looking at this week, obviously
- 56:28Speaker 11: I saw the Broncos Chiefs.
- 56:29Speaker 16: I did not go with that.
- 56:31Speaker 11: I saw the Panthers Dolphins, did not go with that.
- 56:34Speaker 11: Love the Panthers, but no, So I ended up taking
- 56:38Speaker 11: the Jets over the Eagles. I I could see it
- 56:41Speaker 11: being like a twenty four to twenty one last minute
- 56:44Speaker 11: field goal kind of thing. Potentially, that just feels like
- 56:47Speaker 11: a game that the Eagles are traveling to the Jets.
- 56:50Speaker 11: Every undefeated team almost has tends to have their one
- 56:53Speaker 11: game at some point, and I could just see the Jets,
- 56:56Speaker 11: I don't know, pulling it out potentially. I'm mostly writing once.
- 57:00Speaker 3: For that one Okay, what about the Thursday night game, the.
- 57:02Speaker 16: Thursday night game like tonight.
- 57:03Speaker 11: Yeah, oh gosh, Well, if the Chiefs decide to actually
- 57:09Speaker 11: dominate and show up and Kelsey's healthy and everything works,
- 57:12Speaker 11: I mean, this could be like a thirty four to
- 57:16Speaker 11: twelve kind of game.
- 57:16Speaker 16: Like it could be like an ugly game I have.
- 57:19Speaker 3: I have twenty seven to thirteen. She like it?
- 57:24Speaker 15: Yeah, chiefs to say if Kelsey's inactive seventeen to thirteen.
- 57:30Speaker 11: Chiefs, Yeah, I think regardless, they're gonna pull it out.
- 57:33Speaker 11: But I mean, you can definitely account what Kelsey scored
- 57:36Speaker 11: in the last one touchdown, the last four games or
- 57:39Speaker 11: every game.
- 57:40Speaker 3: And your girl's going to be there. Apparently it's gone.
- 57:44Speaker 16: Speaking of my girl, she has her movie coming out Friday.
- 57:47Speaker 3: You're gonna go see that too.
- 57:48Speaker 16: Not on Friday.
- 57:49Speaker 11: I'm like an eighty five percent swifty. I let one
- 57:53Speaker 11: hundred percent Swifties go on Friday.
- 57:55Speaker 3: Maybe have more space than the theater.
- 57:56Speaker 16: Yeah, I don't want to be packed now. I want
- 57:58Speaker 16: to be a nice.
- 57:59Speaker 15: Experienced all right, Well, Faith, thank you for joining guys.
- 58:03Speaker 15: Send those trivia answers in the web Radio Patriots dot com,
- 58:05Speaker 15: and let's get.
- 58:06Speaker 3: Back to the show.
- 58:09Speaker 17: When someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes, replacements
- 58:14Speaker 17: were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery.
- 58:17Speaker 17: Everyone could focus on the perfect opening night FedEx. Where
- 58:21Speaker 17: now it's next for residential delivery.
- 58:24Speaker 5: Only and no great moments in.
- 58:30Speaker 1: History.
- 58:31Speaker 9: Come on, I don't know.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Felger Still to this day, Felger is not the end
- 58:37Speaker 1: all be all of conversation. There's other people saying stuff
- 58:41Speaker 1: and a lot of people sing.
- 58:42Speaker 5: One guy was all Brady.
- 58:43Speaker 1: It was only when I said it while Brady.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Was here with Bill who said that.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Tons of people who on this show. I mean, what
- 58:50Speaker 1: do I have to go back and eat?
- 58:51Speaker 5: I've never said that.
- 58:53Speaker 9: You better. You're talking about emailers, callers call.
- 58:58Speaker 5: There's only one guy on who's always matters in the town,
- 59:01Speaker 5: and it's Michael. I mean, the only guy even moves
- 59:04Speaker 5: the need. That's not a hero worship. I think he's insane.
- 59:11Speaker 1: I didn't know you had such a love.
- 59:12Speaker 5: I couldn't possibly disagree with them more. It's got nothing
- 59:15Speaker 5: to do with hero. He thinks he thinks that they
- 59:17Speaker 5: could win the division with Brian Hoyer. I couldn't possibly
- 59:20Speaker 5: disagree with them more. It's nothing to do with hero worship.
- 59:22Speaker 5: But don't tell me that Clean wood Way has a
- 59:25Speaker 5: pulse or anything that's going on. Yes, Bill, Yes, Bill?
- 59:28Speaker 5: What else do you want, Bills get together? Are we
- 59:30Speaker 5: going to do this weekend?
- 59:32Speaker 11: Oh?
- 59:32Speaker 9: Okay Bill?
- 59:32Speaker 1: That's another great moment from score Big with Bob's unbeatable
- 59:39Speaker 1: savings on power reclining furniture perfect for game day viewing
- 59:42Speaker 1: with features like hidden drop down tables for snacks and
- 59:45Speaker 1: bebs and convenient USB ports. Paul will never have to
- 59:49Speaker 1: get up and miss a play, but only when you
- 59:52Speaker 1: shop at Bob's, the official furniture store of the New
- 59:54Speaker 1: England Patriots. We gave away what t shirts at time?
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Only two winners? Wow? First trivia questions, you guys know
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: the answer. Nobody knows the answers.
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: I do, but I was not given the questions ahead
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: of time.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: What year did the Patriots first debut their home color
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Rush jersey? And what was the first game they wore them?
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: Twenty sixteen? Yeah against the Texans, which Kobe PRIs said
- 1:00:22Speaker 9: at quarterback.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: That's correct. Wow, Nate ol of Us Olavis is the
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: winner the second one. How many field goal attempts did
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Adam Vinteria complete and make in the Super Bowls he
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: played in, and how many Pats did he attempt and make?
- 1:00:39Speaker 8: Wows a lot of questions within that question.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: The answer is Adam was seven for ten on field
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: goals in thirteen for thirteen on extra points for thirty
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: four points in five games in Super Bowls and there
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: was no winner. There was no winner. And finally, which
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: player made a key pass breakup in Super Bowl fifty three?
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: Jason mccordy.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and that winner was Maurice Cerulo.
- 1:01:04Speaker 8: That's a that's an easy one.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Yeah, all right. Eight five to five past five hundred
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: is the A Sticket hotline. Web radio at Patriots dot
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: com is the email address. Let's get back to the calls.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: We'll start with Ted in Charleston. What's up, Ted, Hi,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Thanks for having me.
- 1:01:27Speaker 13: Yeah, wanted to make two points here. Evan talk about
- 1:01:31Speaker 13: the evolution of the game, and I think there's often
- 1:01:35Speaker 13: a long delay between a significant being change and evolution.
- 1:01:39Speaker 13: You know, the NBA adopted a three point shot in
- 1:01:42Speaker 13: nineteen seventy nine and it took thirty years. Yes, Step
- 1:01:46Speaker 13: Courier's Warriors, and I think it's footballs Polian and the
- 1:01:50Speaker 13: Competition Committee re emphasized passing about twenty years ago or so?
- 1:01:53Speaker 13: Is that right? And it was after cat If you
- 1:01:56Speaker 13: don't change your personnel and strategy right away, but at
- 1:01:59Speaker 13: some point you have to. And I wonder if it's
- 1:02:02Speaker 13: the younger coaches that tend to see these changes, whether
- 1:02:05Speaker 13: it's the quality of the athletes or the rule changes
- 1:02:08Speaker 13: earlier than the older coaches. And just one other point,
- 1:02:11Speaker 13: here's when people say that the Patriots on offense lacked
- 1:02:15Speaker 13: field position, players, lack offensive line, and lack of good quarterback.
- 1:02:19Speaker 13: What else is it there? And it doesn't that mean
- 1:02:23Speaker 13: that there's a four year rebuilding process. And shouldn't the
- 1:02:26Speaker 13: craft take away the personnelities right now from Belichick before
- 1:02:30Speaker 13: he does Mohammed's new type trade?
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: That's it? Take that, thanks, Ted. That's a good call
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: to the first step where line three still stinks.
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: To the first point, I feel like it's not necessarily
- 1:02:40Speaker 9: that the young coaches see it first. And that's how
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: they grew up like that. They're like guys like Shanahan
- 1:02:46Speaker 9: and McVeigh and like those those coaches, just this is
- 1:02:50Speaker 9: the type of foot this is the era that they've
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: grown up in. You know, Bill grew up in football
- 1:02:55Speaker 9: in the seventies and the eighties, and these guys are
- 1:02:57Speaker 9: growing up now and I think for a lot of
- 1:02:59Speaker 9: the the skill players, like you know, how are there's
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: so many good receivers now. It was all like the
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: seven on seven camps and stuff like that, that they're
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: you know, these guys are catching passes all the time,
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: like in the spring, the summer they're playing seven on seven.
- 1:03:12Speaker 9: And I think the same things with the coaches, Like
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: I think that those guys are just this is the era,
- 1:03:16Speaker 9: like this is their time.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: I do like this point though, that sometimes you know,
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: things get changed and innovated and it takes a while.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: And I think the basketball one is very valid. I mean,
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: you would have never envisioned the three point line being
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: this big a part of the NBA game now is
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: if you watched during the eighties. But that's the way
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: everybody plays now, and I think there's there's an element
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: of truth to it. To the NFL. You know, toward
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: the end of the first part of the Patriots dynasty
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: is when the Panthers and the Colts put up a
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: I mean not the Panthers, Eagles, and the Colts put
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: up a big stink about their receivers getting roughed up
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: in the playoffs, and they were sort of more conscious
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: of calling those those plays. And it took a while,
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: but now the passing game is almost, you know, clockwork.
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: It's so unstoppable, and you don't see teams playing the
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: way the Patriots played at that time.
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: It's kind of interesting to me that the excessive pace
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: that they kind of used with O'Brien in like twenty eleven.
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: I know that was partially due to the lockout, but
- 1:04:17Speaker 8: that that didn't become more of a trend. It just
- 1:04:20Speaker 8: seemed kind of like a one off. Doesn't seem like
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: teams are as interested now as the one word play call.
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: Remember that year it was like, oh my gosh, the
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: one word play call.
- 1:04:27Speaker 9: Their NASCAR package, And.
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: You see it still in college, but you don't see
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: as much of it in the pros.
- 1:04:32Speaker 9: I think that was because of Chip Kelly, Like chip
- 1:04:35Speaker 9: Kelly brought that, the Patriots went and worked with chip
- 1:04:40Speaker 9: Kelly to learn it, and then I think chip Kelly
- 1:04:43Speaker 9: came to the league and his teams and with the Eagles,
- 1:04:46Speaker 9: like time of possession was so lopsided for them that
- 1:04:49Speaker 9: the defense was just gassed playing that way. And I
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: think that teams realized that it wasn't sustainable.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: The last part those about taking the keys away before
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: he makes Mohammed's the new type trade. I wonder if, uh,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: maybe they have been taken away a little bit. Well,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: anything major has to go through the crafts. I don't know, Yeah,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I wondered.
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: I would think that that would be smart right now,
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: because they have to have some internal conversations about anything
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: that they do, right, doesn't doesn't Robert have to sign
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: off on a trade?
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: Yeah he does, I mean I would think yeah.
- 1:05:27Speaker 8: But I mean in free agency, I mean really it
- 1:05:29Speaker 8: was it was just Juju that got the three year deal.
- 1:05:31Speaker 8: I mean, everybody else was just one or two year deals.
- 1:05:34Speaker 11: You know.
- 1:05:34Speaker 8: That was the only real kind of significant deals unless
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: you want to count Cardona's four years.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: Well I'm talking about right, like maybe, but yeah, just recently,
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: like if they want to make the the Evan this
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: might have been off air the Jerry Judy trade we
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: were talking about, well, while Fred was eating his two
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: subs liar. I would think Robert would need to sign
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: off on something like that, whereas maybe he doesn't necessarily
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: need to be bogged down with the minutia.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: On a normal level.
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: But right now, I don't know how you can just
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: do you think carte blanche for what's going to happen
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: in twenty.
- 1:06:09Speaker 8: Four to twenty that extension of Parker on June twenty eighth,
- 1:06:13Speaker 8: right when right like it's happened.
- 1:06:15Speaker 10: Post that, I guess could you guys ever see though,
- 1:06:17Speaker 10: like in an off season Craft coming in and being
- 1:06:20Speaker 10: like we have an actual GM now like you are literally.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't see there.
- 1:06:26Speaker 10: I would see Bill like resigning or just I just
- 1:06:30Speaker 10: plus I don't think it works to Bill him.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: I don't think. I think it's a dysfunctional. You know,
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: it's one thing if you hire a GM and you
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: hire it and that's established, and that's a stablished but
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: the way that you can't have Bill do it for
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: twenty five years and then say, Alex, now you no
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: longer can make those moves at your whim. It's just
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: a dysfunctional thing. So now Bill's going to be But if.
- 1:06:51Speaker 10: That's happening now, but just set a less like a lesser.
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: Degree, I think it's close to over.
- 1:06:56Speaker 10: Let's like Butcher has to check your homework.
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: Makes I would worry about like if you have Matt.
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: Let's say it's Macro and you just say Macro is
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: the GM. Now he's gonna make all the persons he
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: has final say on the roster. I don't want Bill
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: coaching that, not because I don't trust Bill to coach,
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: but how is his relationship gonna work there?
- 1:07:19Speaker 13: Like?
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: Am I gonna go out of my way to spite
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: the moves that Macro has made because I didn't get
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: to make them? Like it's just human nature. The guy's
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: been in charge of the kingdom for twenty five years
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: and now you're telling them you can coach.
- 1:07:33Speaker 8: But I just wondered towards you're gonna tell you who
- 1:07:35Speaker 8: you coach? You know, I think the only potential moves
- 1:07:37Speaker 8: I'd wonder is not necessarily trades, which I think, you
- 1:07:39Speaker 8: know when you're one and four, like what's the point.
- 1:07:41Speaker 8: But dugger extensions, you know, like anybody getting an extension?
- 1:07:45Speaker 8: Is any of that stuff gonna get done?
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: Because I could still see a place where even the
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: crafts would say, look, we love Kyle Duggar.
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: I think the trade deadlines are opportunities still, it's just
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: the other way, like I think like an ucha or
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: a Kendrick Bourne, or maybe even a Hunter Henry could
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: give you know, and I think I saw. I think
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: someone tied a tight end to zach Ertz. I think
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: Bill Barnwell tied to Dallas. And my immediate thought was,
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: we got a decent tight end. Might not be here
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: next year. Maybe Hunter Henry, you know, to doubt. Maybe
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: you could get you know, a fifth round pick or something.
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Every little bit helps at this point, Kyle and Pembroke writes,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: and I may be stupid, but I still have hope.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: I believe that this is the week the team puts
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: it together. I believe Thornton is the missing piece to
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: open up the run game, in the passing game, I
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: predict he will have seven catches for one hundred plus
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: yards and a touchdown, leading the Patriots to his twenty
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: seven to thirteen victory. I'm ready to be hurt again,
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: but I still believe in this team.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: All right, Okay, I could see the Patriots winning this week.
- 1:08:52Speaker 5: I don't think there's anything that's like unrealistic about the
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: Patriots winning the game.
- 1:08:57Speaker 8: But what fashion for what?
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: Yeah, you think you're going to have just as much
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: faith the next week against Buffalo and then the next
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: week at Miami.
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: And they're just those two games are staring right in
- 1:09:07Speaker 8: the face. You know, this does tell you exactly where
- 1:09:09Speaker 8: you are, where you are in the division, where you
- 1:09:10Speaker 8: are in the conference, where you stack up over.
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: I already know where they are division yep, oh I know.
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: Look and as you as you've pointed out many times
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: where they've been in the division since twenty twenty, it
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: hasn't moved.
- 1:09:22Speaker 8: Nope.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Let's see Ryan Ron and Conway New Hampshire. What can
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: we do to manufacturer win this week. I'm as lost
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: as much as all of you. My concerns are still
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: the same too. Regarding one thing, it seems that this
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: team is in such a bad spiral, a bad play,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: and it's when one thing goes bad, everything they do
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: goes bad too, including injuries. I agree with Evan from
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Yesterdays show about having a fullback in all honesty, I
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: don't care if the other teams see that you might
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: telegraph a run player or not. Question is can they
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: stop it? Yes, I'm a fan of having a fullback,
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: and every great running back needs one as it is
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: an additional blocker. Lastly, I'm a huge fan of playing
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: the kids at wide receiver, Thornton, Boute, Reager, and even Born.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Schuster needs to get his mind right, because his mind.
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: But these guys aren't kids, by the way, though, Thornton
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: Born not a kid, Douglas, those are kids, booty kids.
- 1:10:18Speaker 8: Am I a kid?
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: Born? Not a kid? You're a kid.
- 1:10:21Speaker 8: You're a kid. I think I'm Kendrick.
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: But NFL wise, yeah, he wouldn't be a kid in
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: the NFL puise, No, he's not. You know, this is
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: difference between washed and washed.
- 1:10:33Speaker 16: I'm saying not Kendrick, but you know Born.
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: You know Rayger. These not kids anymore. Rager's been on
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: like four teams.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Just in Connecticut. Yesterday during my class, my professor was
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: wearing an unauthentic PU shirt knockoffs.
- 1:10:48Speaker 10: There's not really I told you guys this, someone has
- 1:10:51Speaker 10: like a shot that they're dropping them. So the first
- 1:10:55Speaker 10: time I noticed this was when Marcus Jones' parents came
- 1:10:58Speaker 10: and we gave them a t shure. I tweeted out
- 1:11:00Speaker 10: a picture and then in the comments someone dropped a
- 1:11:03Speaker 10: link get your.
- 1:11:04Speaker 16: Own, and it was like fraudulent.
- 1:11:06Speaker 9: Obviously, Wow, someone just.
- 1:11:08Speaker 10: Like copied the logo and put it on a white
- 1:11:10Speaker 10: T shirt on one of those like printified.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: I wonder if they're qualities, Right Fred?
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: That bad sleep job?
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: What are you doing? I don't like. Plus, we had
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: a midterm test and we had three bonus questions, one
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: of which was what is the world's original podcast?
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: My God?
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: I go to Eastern Connecticut State University and Doctor D
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: is going to Vegas this weekend for the game. So
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I hope for his mental sanity, my mental sanity, and
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: all of Patriots Nations sanity. We play like an actual
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: NFL team.
- 1:11:44Speaker 9: Doctor D, Doctor, I love it.
- 1:11:47Speaker 8: Eastern Connecticut? Is that Polis One?
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Yeah? I think it was Central Connecticut? Is there a
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: West Northwestern?
- 1:11:55Speaker 16: There is a Western.
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: I don't believe there's a Northern, but there's an Eastern Western?
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: And in Central Wow, in Southern Southern University?
- 1:12:04Speaker 7: Right, brothers a freshman at Eastern Connecticut right now, watch
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: out for that morrel stomping rounds.
- 1:12:09Speaker 8: Okay, brother's a freshman. It's an old freshman. Is he
- 1:12:12Speaker 8: like a Thornton melon?
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: That's pretty wild. He's wearing a T shirt and he's
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: putting questions on his test.
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: He seems like it sounds like a pretty big fan.
- 1:12:21Speaker 8: Get your teaching.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: My question, did anyone get the right answer besides you?
- 1:12:27Speaker 16: Yeah, how do we know the professor is a fake shirt?
- 1:12:30Speaker 10: It could maybe he won the contest.
- 1:12:32Speaker 8: Maybe it's maybe answered a question. Yeah, doctor, t do
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: you mail anything to doctor?
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Do you need to have that little silver sticker?
- 1:12:40Speaker 10: You know that the NFL we should make certificates?
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: Yeah? Uh, let's go to Todd in North Carolina on
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: the A sticket outline was.
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: Kind of telling to hear cousin Patty starting to say, hey,
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: maybe last year there was something we could find and
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: bring over for our offense or something, because it was
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: you know, we need to get something going. So my
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: question for you guys, since we're doing question time here
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: we are, Yes, we are.
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: You guys just went through it.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: Does mister Bellichick all know what is best for the
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: team and is he able to do what's best for
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: the team? Like those are two questions separate.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: You answer, does he know? And will he do it?
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: I just notice I think he thinks he knows, yeah,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: and I think he thinks he's trying to do it. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: for sure. I Mean that's a simple answer, but it's.
- 1:13:27Speaker 8: It's one of those things where you know, and I
- 1:13:30Speaker 8: not to get back in the drama at all.
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: But you know there's no answer to that. Who's to
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: say what the best thing for the team?
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: Right? The proof is only if they win games. They
- 1:13:38Speaker 8: start winning games. But I just wonder if are people
- 1:13:41Speaker 8: still listening to those things and trying to execute those
- 1:13:44Speaker 8: things with all their might? Do they still believe that
- 1:13:47Speaker 8: those things are going to win them football games?
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: That's what questions are Roger and Saint Louis, You know
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: how you always say there's a listener with an expertise
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: and a topic you're discussing, yes, without giving too much
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: personal info. I have a master's degree in stats and
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: work in a field where I do financial analysis, so
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: when I heard Evans's thoughts, I had to weigh in.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: I think it's fascinating that football is trying to implement
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: analytics and scouting and game management, but it's just always
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: going to be limited, just by nature. Seventeen games is
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: just not a good enough sample size for a lot
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: of stats to be meaningful. You can argue about number
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: of snaps and all that, but these stats are simply
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: too susceptible to noise and outliers. I'm generally skeptical by nature,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: so without disclosing the raw data in actual tests slash
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: formulas to the public, I have serious doubts in a
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: lot of these PFF next gen proclamations. I think potential
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: for true statistical analysis is there in the NFL, but
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: some more transparency would be appreciated. There are so many
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: websites with amazing NBA and MLB raw data, why not
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: for the NFL. PS win probability is a hoax and
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: should be banned.
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: Yeah, so largely agree with his theory about the sample size,
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: and I do think that's the number one thing for
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: analytics is they talk about it in baseball all the time,
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: and there's no sport that's more analytics driven than baseball.
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: That's one hundred and sixty two games, and the reason
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: why they say teams don't always translate into playoffs is
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: because of that. It works over one hundred and sixty two,
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: but it's a little bit different when you're in a
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: three game series, you know, a three out of five series,
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: and you've seen you know, like a lot of the
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: favorites going down.
- 1:15:28Speaker 10: But there's way fewer variables too, Like okay, there's a
- 1:15:31Speaker 10: different pitcher on the mound or there's a different batter,
- 1:15:34Speaker 10: but like other than that, maybe shifts other than that,
- 1:15:37Speaker 10: like football is such a butterfly effects sport, like one
- 1:15:41Speaker 10: tiny little thing.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Can change so much. But in defense of the stats,
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: and here I am playing the other side of the fence,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: I know there's only seventeen games in a season, but
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: the stats go back.
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: I mean, no, you know, but what they're talking about,
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: Like I'll give you a couple of cook examples, like
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: what the email is talking about is and I've said
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: that many times, like the defense is ranked sixth in
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: the league. Yeah, okay, because they shout out Detroit.
- 1:16:08Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: Yeah, that's one out of your seventeen games, which is
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: a huge part of that number. Now to me, it's
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: not necessarily indicative of how good you are, you know,
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: And that's just like one example to.
- 1:16:22Speaker 10: Prove his especially for college kids too, like, okay, if
- 1:16:25Speaker 10: you're looking at these advanced stats for each of their colleges,
- 1:16:28Speaker 10: you have to weigh them up against player to player,
- 1:16:30Speaker 10: their strength of schedule, their strengths of conference.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of variable.
- 1:16:33Speaker 5: Now the other part, like Evan brought up something about
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: the takeaways we were talking about they've only taken the
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: ball away two times all year, and it's like, you know,
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: that's seems like that, will you know, regress to the
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: mean at some point, you know they've I think that
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: what you've seen so far is a regression to the mean.
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: Last year, they took the ball away a ridiculous amount.
- 1:16:54Speaker 10: Of time on it every game, if not twenty.
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: It was every game. It was two and three takeaways
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: every game.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: That was probably the outlier.
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: This is what my point is. You can't say that
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: you could. The best defense is don't do what the
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: Patriots did last year every year in terms of takeaways,
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: and then a lot of times taking those takeaways into
- 1:17:15Speaker 5: points directly.
- 1:17:16Speaker 8: I think you're seeing it with sacks too, right.
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: I think it's a regression to the mean. Now, not
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: like they're gonna all of you know, they're not gonna
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: go the whole year without taking the ball away. They'll
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: probably take it away on Sunday. Garoppolo's got seven picks,
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: he leads the league. I wouldn't be surprised if the
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: Patriots come up with a pick or two. But it's
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: not something you rely on. It's a variable.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: Ramona Tampa I wasn't a big football fan then, but wasn't.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: Coughlin asked to give up his GM duties to focus
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: on coaching, and did so easily because he recognized he
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: wasn't doing good job.
- 1:17:48Speaker 8: Kind of went with the Giants with the Jacks.
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: Or maybe I don't know, I kind of remember something
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: like that. He became a GM later in his career
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: in Jackson. He ran the Jags. He didn't coach anymore.
- 1:18:02Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm not sure.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but the Jags were before the Giants.
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: Maybe the Giants had a GM that came in.
- 1:18:09Speaker 8: Jags first, Giants, then he went back to the Jacks
- 1:18:11Speaker 8: and then he went back.
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: Oh yeah, he originally ran the whole thing, but that
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: that might be right. There might have been was that
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: who's that guy? Sean something, Sean barn He can't think
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: of the guy's name. There was a guy that came
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: in for the Giants in that time and did a
- 1:18:25Speaker 5: really good job, and he was under a lot of heat,
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: and then they ended up winning a couple of titles.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Let's go to Jason in London. What's up, Jason.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: I like y'all from London. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey god.
- 1:18:39Speaker 18: I was in llet for my first time this weekend,
- 1:18:44Speaker 18: and no matter the result, it was an amazing time,
- 1:18:48Speaker 18: like it was my birthday. So I was like a
- 1:18:50Speaker 18: buy flats on the ticket. Absolutely epic time. Like I
- 1:18:55Speaker 18: had no bad bad experience. I really enjoyed as everyone
- 1:19:02Speaker 18: was super friendly, taal getting was fun.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: It was just awesome, so good.
- 1:19:10Speaker 9: That's great.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: I love it. Can you do a favor for me?
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Can you say the Allied forces have just reached Berlin the.
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: I love it.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: I love it. Thank you. It was awesome, all right,
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: all right, thanks Jason.
- 1:19:26Speaker 8: Not somebody had fun, it was a nice day.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Well. I was talking to somebody from Germany yesterday.
- 1:19:33Speaker 8: He's a big wig there generally in Germany.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and he was saying that the thing about what
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: the people love in Germany about American football is the festival,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: you know, the whole thing around the game, like they're
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: getting together and and they really liked that part of it.
- 1:19:52Speaker 8: That's what I miss most about being a fan. Like
- 1:19:54Speaker 8: sometimes when I would come back here from California for
- 1:19:56Speaker 8: a game, I would think I would like get stuck
- 1:19:58Speaker 8: in the tailgate too long because I was just and
- 1:20:00Speaker 8: too much fun right partying with fans and friends and
- 1:20:03Speaker 8: then we're like sprinting into the stadium, and of course
- 1:20:05Speaker 8: the game is tense always as a fan, you know
- 1:20:08Speaker 8: you're on edge. But I miss those. I missed those tailgates, and.
- 1:20:14Speaker 9: Just if it could be like that all year, I
- 1:20:16Speaker 9: would love to just be able to tailgate like one
- 1:20:19Speaker 9: time again, you know, like just like just do it
- 1:20:22Speaker 9: once right and content right and just out there, because
- 1:20:27Speaker 9: that that is the best time. Like, that's that's the
- 1:20:30Speaker 9: I feel like the memories that stick out more even
- 1:20:32Speaker 9: than some of the games that I've been to or
- 1:20:34Speaker 9: at the tailgate.
- 1:20:35Speaker 8: One of the most fun I had was one you'rember.
- 1:20:37Speaker 8: When I was a blogger, they would give me tickets
- 1:20:39Speaker 8: to give away, and they gave me tickets to the
- 1:20:42Speaker 8: rematch between the Patriots Jets. So I went to the
- 1:20:44Speaker 8: Patriots Jets and I think twenty fifteen, and then I
- 1:20:46Speaker 8: had tickets at the tailgate, and so you know, I
- 1:20:49Speaker 8: found like a Jets fan who was amongst all the
- 1:20:51Speaker 8: Patriots fans, and you know, gave him the tickets and
- 1:20:54Speaker 8: you know they were all surprised out of nowhere. But
- 1:20:56Speaker 8: it's just it's you know, even with opposing fans, it's
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: it's fun.
- 1:20:59Speaker 12: You get.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: Guess what.
- 1:21:05Speaker 10: Has returned and has returned.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Has returned from practice?
- 1:21:16Speaker 9: All right, Evan repeated yesterday, Not not much to to glean.
- 1:21:22Speaker 9: Stretching only, same attendance, no wide receiver, Juju Smith, Schuster
- 1:21:27Speaker 9: tomorrow Douglas and then obviously Matthew Judon. So those two guys,
- 1:21:31Speaker 9: I think we're a long shot to play on Sunday
- 1:21:33Speaker 9: in concussion protocol anyways, But they have not been out
- 1:21:36Speaker 9: there back in shells today, back in shells. Yeah, pads
- 1:21:39Speaker 9: only on Wednesdays, it seems.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: Were they at least wearing pants?
- 1:21:43Speaker 9: Yes, yes, no shorts, a couple of some shorts. Yeah.
- 1:21:47Speaker 9: It's nice out. Okay, it's nice out, all right, get
- 1:21:50Speaker 9: ready for that desert heat.
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: It is nice out.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: It's like sixty eight degrees.
- 1:21:54Speaker 9: Yeah, it was nice out there.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: So that means, you know, coaches were bundled up like
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: it's the Arctic. Shut up.
- 1:22:00Speaker 8: So, sirih, what was the stadium like last year when
- 1:22:03Speaker 8: you guys went there?
- 1:22:04Speaker 9: Was it?
- 1:22:04Speaker 8: Was it nice and cool and air condition I.
- 1:22:07Speaker 9: Yeah, it was nice. And it's open air press box,
- 1:22:09Speaker 9: which is a big fan of that makes you feel
- 1:22:11Speaker 9: like you're you're really in it, you know, Minnesota too
- 1:22:14Speaker 9: great atmosphere on Thanksgiving night open air press box like
- 1:22:17Speaker 9: Dallas it's a big dome, Like why do we need
- 1:22:19Speaker 9: the glass?
- 1:22:20Speaker 8: Like just people like Paul It don't they don't.
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: I don't like. I don't like the open air press box.
- 1:22:26Speaker 9: I love it. I love it because it makes you
- 1:22:29Speaker 9: feel like you like you understand the atmosphere and like
- 1:22:31Speaker 9: you're you know, when you're pine the glass, you don't
- 1:22:33Speaker 9: really know.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: But sometimes you don't hear the announcements. What that passed?
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I just like the noise. I don't know,
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: I don't know why. It just kind of bugs me.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: Fans having fun.
- 1:22:48Speaker 9: In Minnesota. I remember, like you know, Fred and I
- 1:22:50Speaker 9: were were like, you can say whatever you want because
- 1:22:53Speaker 9: the crowd's reacting to the play and you don't have
- 1:22:55Speaker 9: to worry about like you know, you're you're saying something
- 1:22:58Speaker 9: too loud, And both of us after they ruled Hunter
- 1:23:01Speaker 9: Henry was incomplete pass where we're quite ridiculous.
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: We still like the loudest press box in the league.
- 1:23:08Speaker 5: It was a time where, without a question, no, I.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: Think it's calmed down. Yeah, I think it's it's.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: Not as there's a lot of there's a lot of groaning.
- 1:23:17Speaker 10: Yeah, a lot of the beat writers really have a
- 1:23:19Speaker 10: big time just like keeping their emotions internal.
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: They gets sad.
- 1:23:24Speaker 8: It's the glass in the pest box soundproof they specifically use. Yeah,
- 1:23:28Speaker 8: like you can't really hear the crowd. You can't really
- 1:23:31Speaker 8: hear it a lot feel it.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: It must be pretty thick.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: There was some of those playoff games in the palt
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: like you could feel the press box shaking, but it's hard.
- 1:23:39Speaker 8: To hear like kind of the just the roar of
- 1:23:41Speaker 8: the crowd consistently, you don't, you just get it a
- 1:23:43Speaker 8: little bit.
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: They're gonna get on a red level for that. That's
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: what the cool folks.
- 1:23:47Speaker 8: When I get the cookies and the cupcakes, right.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: Paul from the Colony in New York wants to know
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: has Jimmy g Ever actually started against the Patriots? If so,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: what did it look like and what were the results The.
- 1:24:01Speaker 9: Niners kicked their butts?
- 1:24:02Speaker 8: Was that yeah twenty twenty?
- 1:24:05Speaker 9: Yeah I think so, yeah, yeah, twenty twenty. And I
- 1:24:08Speaker 9: think in that game is like average depth of target
- 1:24:11Speaker 9: was like three yards, like it was all to remember.
- 1:24:13Speaker 9: It was like the screens and the the like, you know,
- 1:24:17Speaker 9: freaking them out. Jet sweeps and things. Yeah, I want
- 1:24:20Speaker 9: to see.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: Somebody wrote an email the other day I can't find it,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: but they were wondering how much Bill really does miss
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: Ernie Adams and Dante Scarnecki. You like, how much is
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: that really affecting this team?
- 1:24:34Speaker 8: Yeah, that's my dad, say, my dad's a text text
- 1:24:36Speaker 8: to me that out of the blue es you know, realized.
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: I just realized.
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: And when they asked them about it yesterday. I mean,
- 1:24:42Speaker 8: it's you know, I think it's It certainly doesn't help.
- 1:24:44Speaker 8: I mean, how many coaches do you know or have
- 1:24:46Speaker 8: coaches that you've played for that just kind of have
- 1:24:48Speaker 8: confidants that you know, maybe don't have a huge coaching
- 1:24:51Speaker 8: role on the team, but are vital to the head
- 1:24:53Speaker 8: coach for you know, bouncing ideas off of and giving
- 1:24:56Speaker 8: them a little bits of insight and stuff. I mean,
- 1:24:57Speaker 8: I think it's it's definitely. I mean, even if it's
- 1:25:00Speaker 8: I mean it's Ernie, it's Ivan Fears, it's Dante Scarneki,
- 1:25:04Speaker 8: it's I mean, there's just so many guys and you know,
- 1:25:06Speaker 8: but at this point, though, you're starting to develop another
- 1:25:09Speaker 8: little bit of a core. I mean, at least on
- 1:25:11Speaker 8: the defensive side.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: Of the ball with guys like remember that wasn't he
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: also assistant head coach.
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: A little bit?
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:25:18Speaker 9: Yeah, I think Dante Is is still more involved than yeah,
- 1:25:22Speaker 9: than we know.
- 1:25:23Speaker 10: Okay, that's all I feel like, Ivan, I see, might
- 1:25:27Speaker 10: as well be taking.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I've been coming here. It's like the guy that every
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: walks to the park every day. It's on the park bench.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: It's what it's like.
- 1:25:38Speaker 8: He just determined his own hours now.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: And watches lunch.
- 1:25:42Speaker 9: I would I would like to think that that Ivan
- 1:25:45Speaker 9: is getting paid. I mean, he's here all the time.
- 1:25:49Speaker 9: Like I hope he's not doing it.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: Maybe that's what he likes to do, you know. Like
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: I said, he's the guy that goes to the park
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: and feeds the pigeons every day.
- 1:25:56Speaker 9: You know, I'm not holding it against him. I just
- 1:25:59Speaker 9: hope that he work keeps you young. Some money should
- 1:26:02Speaker 9: get paid.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: Though, Anthony says, don't you think possibly the reason that
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: they take long shots on third down in short is
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: because the other team is probably playing the short routes
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: and we have no choice but to try to trick
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: teams to get the big plays downfield. Nobody on this
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: team wins, uh the matchup something something one on one
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: when it's first and ten, So let's fool them and
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: go deep on third down and short.
- 1:26:27Speaker 8: You just got to hit them. Though they don't hit them.
- 1:26:29Speaker 8: I mean they take take those shots. But I mean
- 1:26:31Speaker 8: you're probably right.
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: I'm not an anti shot just like they have to
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: be better at it, Tequila. I hate shots now.
- 1:26:38Speaker 9: I just think like the notion to me that teams
- 1:26:42Speaker 9: are defending the Patriots on third and three at the sticks,
- 1:26:46Speaker 9: but they're not defending Kansas City. I like, if it's
- 1:26:51Speaker 9: third and three, like you're you're trying to not give
- 1:26:53Speaker 9: up a first down. So yes, there's obviously like some
- 1:26:56Speaker 9: nuance there, but I don't think it's like revolutionary to
- 1:27:00Speaker 9: a because third and three, they're probably not going to
- 1:27:02Speaker 9: give you the four yard route. Like that's that's football, right,
- 1:27:05Speaker 9: Like that that seems obvious to me.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: Okay, let's see Richard from New York City, big fan
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: of the show. Assuming Craft fires Belichick or there's a
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: mutual parting of the ways in Girrawd Mayo is the
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: next in line to be the head coach. What are
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: your thoughts of him surrounding himself with the offensive coordinator
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: and defensive coordinator that are aligned with the way the
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: NFL game operates today, with an emphasis on offense and speed,
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: while Mayo is more like the chief executive than running
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: either side of the ball during the game. So in
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: other words, he's the head coach, but he's not the
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: coordinator of either side. He really rests, really leans on
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: two experts. Assuming that there is an entire house cleaning
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: of the Belichick staff and era except Mayo, does this
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: count as a clean slate and break from the Belichick era?
- 1:27:56Speaker 5: It might.
- 1:27:56Speaker 8: I mean, I'm just torn because I'm with everybody on
- 1:27:58Speaker 8: the panel that says, like gott to try to find
- 1:28:01Speaker 8: the next offensive whiz kid, and that would be the
- 1:28:03Speaker 8: ideal situation. But I also just feel like I know
- 1:28:06Speaker 8: Gerard a little bit now, and I feel like it
- 1:28:08Speaker 8: would be really good for us generally content wise, and
- 1:28:11Speaker 8: I like him, and and you know, I think he
- 1:28:13Speaker 8: would be a good coach. But it's just the it's hard.
- 1:28:16Speaker 8: You know, like every coach, if you fire Parcels, you
- 1:28:18Speaker 8: bring in Pete Carroll, you fire Peek Carey, you know,
- 1:28:21Speaker 8: you're always kind of going the opposers, you know, right area, right,
- 1:28:25Speaker 8: And it's probably also the same with offensive and defensive
- 1:28:27Speaker 8: side of the ball a little bit, you.
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: Know, Speaking of that same topic, Girod writes in but
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: it's from Vermont from the practice field now, he says,
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: Lincoln Riley laugh out loud. The twenty twenty four staff.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: Not that I want it, but I know what will happen,
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: will be the head coach Mayo o c O'Brien in,
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: defensive coordinator Covington garaf You don't want to guarantee.
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: If you don't want it to happen, why would you
- 1:28:50Speaker 5: even bring it up, laugh out loud and have anything.
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: It's not trying to predict what's going to happen.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: That's what he's doing. He's predicted what's going.
- 1:28:57Speaker 5: I mean, anybody could do that.
- 1:28:59Speaker 8: And just reading new I wonder Evan if he was
- 1:29:01Speaker 8: more elo welling. It's just the thought of them bringing
- 1:29:03Speaker 8: in someone.
- 1:29:04Speaker 9: Well, so I don't mean to add that's that's why
- 1:29:07Speaker 9: I brought up Oh yeah, yeah, I mean to ad
- 1:29:09Speaker 9: him on the radio. But Alex from pr usc Grad, yeah,
- 1:29:12Speaker 9: a fight on. I asked him yesterday. He laughed in
- 1:29:14Speaker 9: my face. He was like, have you seen Lincoln Riley's house?
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:29:18Speaker 5: In la h.
- 1:29:19Speaker 9: He was like, do you think do you think that
- 1:29:21Speaker 9: that man is moving from Los Angeles and his like
- 1:29:25Speaker 9: ten million dollar mansion on the beach till it depends if.
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: He wants to be a coach in the NFL.
- 1:29:29Speaker 9: Well, So the reason why I brought up Lincoln Riley
- 1:29:31Speaker 9: is because he did an interview with the LA Times
- 1:29:34Speaker 9: and he's gotten really close with Sean McVay, you know,
- 1:29:37Speaker 9: being out there in in LA together. And he mentioned
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: that the the you know, the schedule for a college
- 1:29:46Speaker 9: coach is so much different than the schedule for an
- 1:29:48Speaker 9: NFL coach. And he feels like it's easier to be
- 1:29:52Speaker 9: an NFL coach because you're not recruiting in the off season,
- 1:29:56Speaker 9: you know. He when you're in college coach, then you
- 1:29:59Speaker 9: your season finishing and then you go on the recruiting
- 1:30:01Speaker 9: trail to try to get the next class in and
- 1:30:03Speaker 9: you have to do all that whole pomp and circumstance.
- 1:30:06Speaker 9: And he was saying, you know, NFL coaches have a
- 1:30:08Speaker 9: lot more you know, time off and downtime in the
- 1:30:11Speaker 9: off season to just kind of chill. And so when
- 1:30:14Speaker 9: I heard that, I was like, that kind of sounds
- 1:30:16Speaker 9: like a guy that might be looking to go to
- 1:30:17Speaker 9: the NFL.
- 1:30:18Speaker 8: You know we've got mansions here.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: Come on, rush. Reports are coming out that Jerry Judy's
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: on the trade block. Would you still trade for him
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: or would you start fresh in the off season. I
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: would do the trade. Maybe that would boost Max confidence
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: and bring some kind of life to the offense. Probably
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: won't happen, but I'll get my hopes up anyway.
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: Like you have to re sign, you have to do
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: I'm not interested. I would definitely try, and it has
- 1:30:43Speaker 5: nothing to do with Max confidence, Like I'm not I'm
- 1:30:46Speaker 5: kind of over that. Not to sound like Tamara, I'm
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: over that.
- 1:30:50Speaker 9: I just feel like with Jerry Judy, uh well, first
- 1:30:52Speaker 9: of all, like f them picks, Like I just I
- 1:30:55Speaker 9: feel like it's so ridiculous how much we value picks,
- 1:30:59Speaker 9: especially like you know, not first round picks.
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: Right, So if you want to that's what I'm saying,
- 1:31:03Speaker 5: If you want to be signed him, I think he's
- 1:31:05Speaker 5: better than a pick, yeah, and take it.
- 1:31:07Speaker 9: Yeah, he's twenty four, So if you're you're not giving
- 1:31:11Speaker 9: up a first for him. No one's given up a
- 1:31:12Speaker 9: first for him. So if he comes in this year
- 1:31:15Speaker 9: and the rest of the year still looks the same,
- 1:31:16Speaker 9: and Max still is not good and you're moving on, Like,
- 1:31:19Speaker 9: what difference does it make if Jerry Judy is under
- 1:31:22Speaker 9: contract to catch pass from Drake may or he's under
- 1:31:25Speaker 9: contract to passes from Mac Jones.
- 1:31:26Speaker 5: Nothing? Yeah, so that difference.
- 1:31:28Speaker 9: He's a good player, that's much better than anything that
- 1:31:31Speaker 9: you have. And whether it's this quarterback or it's the
- 1:31:33Speaker 9: next quarterback, it's going to benefit that quarterback to have
- 1:31:36Speaker 9: Jerry Judy on the team. So I don't understand what
- 1:31:38Speaker 9: we're even talking about. I'm really frustrated by this. I
- 1:31:42Speaker 9: did because people are like, how could they give up
- 1:31:44Speaker 9: picks what they need good players? Like what difference does
- 1:31:48Speaker 9: it make? So, like you know, Marty Mapu and Jake Andrews,
- 1:31:52Speaker 9: like that's that's a better route of holding onto the
- 1:31:55Speaker 9: picks than to trade for a receiver that you desperately need.
- 1:31:58Speaker 9: It's just like all these draft picks. It's everybody thinks
- 1:32:02Speaker 9: that they're going to turn every single draft pick into his.
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: Point point to Paul's point, if you use the draft
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: picks for quantity, that's fine, but you got to sign
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: him long ter, right.
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know that, right, Yeah, he's playing out
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: the office now right. No, No, they picked up his
- 1:32:20Speaker 5: picked up, so it's not his last year. Then he
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: has another year.
- 1:32:23Speaker 9: Says the Brandon Cooks year for him.
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: Okay, So now I'm more interesting because now I have
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: a whole year and a half to sign him.
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: Okay, all right, and we have less than half an
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: hour to get through all of these picks. So yeah,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: all what happened last week?
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: It's a tough week. Yeah, tough week for most. Alex
- 1:32:50Speaker 5: and Paul eight and six, that's the best, Evan and
- 1:32:55Speaker 5: Fred five and nine oh five, and in between was
- 1:32:59Speaker 5: my gets six and eight. I read that.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: Awful. That is downright bad.
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: I told you it was a tough for most. With
- 1:33:11Speaker 5: the spread Paul eight five and one, followed by Fred
- 1:33:18Speaker 5: at six seven and one, Mike and Alex at five
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: eight and one, and and.
- 1:33:27Speaker 9: Evan hasn't been a good year for me three above.
- 1:33:30Speaker 8: Ten and one losing money.
- 1:33:32Speaker 5: So as as most predicted, you know back in September,
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: the gap is closed rather quickly. Fred fifty and twenty eight,
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: Paul forty eight and thirty just two games behind now
- 1:33:48Speaker 5: Mike and Alex forty seven and thirty one, Evan forty
- 1:33:51Speaker 5: five and thirty three with the spread same Fred forty three,
- 1:33:57Speaker 5: thirty three and two. Paul won thirty five and two
- 1:34:01Speaker 5: again catching up made that nine game down to two
- 1:34:05Speaker 5: in a hurry. Let's see Mike and Alex thirty eight,
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: thirty eight and two and Evans the only one below
- 1:34:11Speaker 5: water thirty six, forty and two.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: All right, I think it's gonna be tough week.
- 1:34:17Speaker 8: I'm really gonna lock in today.
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, your deuce is lock it in, ready
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: to go. At his notes notes, I have.
- 1:34:24Speaker 9: Not looked at a single game on this slater.
- 1:34:29Speaker 5: Full disclosure. Paul has never looked at the game before
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: the Thursday. That tool, that's how you do it. I
- 1:34:35Speaker 5: don't all right tonight randomly, no crap, that's useless.
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: Eight point fifteen on Prime Video. The one in four
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: Broncos are at the four and one Chiefs.
- 1:34:47Speaker 5: The Chiefs by eleven eleven.
- 1:34:50Speaker 8: The Taylor Swift game, and it seems like Kelsey's okay,
- 1:34:53Speaker 8: his ankle's okay.
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: He came back in the game last week, and damn the.
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: Game is in Kansas City.
- 1:34:58Speaker 8: Believe it or not, it's not good. I gotta go
- 1:35:01Speaker 8: Kansas City on this one. And yeah, I'm gonna I'm
- 1:35:06Speaker 8: gonna lay those points, they're Denver's defense is wretched retweet who.
- 1:35:11Speaker 16: Keeps both ways.
- 1:35:14Speaker 9: I'll do the same, but I don't feel great about it.
- 1:35:16Speaker 8: Eleven.
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't.
- 1:35:18Speaker 9: Division gets too big a number.
- 1:35:19Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't like laying that much in a Thursday
- 1:35:21Speaker 5: night game, but I'm going to because of what Mike said.
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: I think Denver's defense is really bad.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: Yeah, what did you think about I'm the same way.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: What did you think about Sala at the end of
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: the game saying stay humble to Peyton And did Peyton
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: in the moment understand what he was saying.
- 1:35:36Speaker 9: Some people say that he was saying stay healthy, So
- 1:35:39Speaker 9: there's some conflict on whether.
- 1:35:41Speaker 8: And what exactly the Liberators that's the perfect like postgame coach,
- 1:35:45Speaker 8: nothing things stay healthy, but.
- 1:35:46Speaker 5: That I was gonna say, that's a very common thing,
- 1:35:48Speaker 5: you know, stay healthy man.
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: Yeah, So that makes more sense, right, because if you
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: said stay humble, that's because you've just been humbled. Yeah,
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: that's a shot, you know, like no more. Nathaniel Hackett comments,
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: clack it, Yeah, Nate Dogg, that makes more sense if
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: he says stay healthy. All right. Sunday morning, nine thirty
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: am Eastern time, the three and two Ravens are at
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: the two and three Titans in London, and I guess
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: the Ravens stayed the whole week or are staying the
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: whole week out in London. They didn't just go like
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: today or tomorrow. They've been there like Jacksonville.
- 1:36:25Speaker 5: Yeah, Ravens by four and a half.
- 1:36:27Speaker 8: Four and a half. Yeah, I hate to turn my
- 1:36:31Speaker 8: back on Tennessee, but they've been killing me lately, and
- 1:36:33Speaker 8: I'm gonna go with Baltimore. I'll lay the points me too.
- 1:36:38Speaker 9: I like Baltimore. I like them to cover as well.
- 1:36:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm a little tired of losing with Mike Rabel,
- 1:36:46Speaker 5: but I'm gonna take Baltimore and I will take the points.
- 1:36:48Speaker 5: I will take Tennessee to cover with field goal.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: I think the Titans will make it a close game
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: and have a good showing in the UK, but Ravens
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: win all right. One o'clock. The two and three Commanders
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: are at the three and two Falcons.
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: Falcons by two and a half.
- 1:37:08Speaker 8: It's kind of a tough one here, but I think
- 1:37:11Speaker 8: I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with the Commanders here
- 1:37:15Speaker 8: and uh yeah, I'll take those points on the road.
- 1:37:21Speaker 9: Me too.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: I'll also pick that upset.
- 1:37:24Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:37:24Speaker 16: Commanders have been good to me this year.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: If you pick the Commanders, you're not taking the points, right.
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: No, no, no, but yes, understand they're underdogs, right, you
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: don't need to take points.
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: If they win, you win.
- 1:37:38Speaker 5: Took them out right, right, you took them out right.
- 1:37:40Speaker 5: I was just you know, I got it. It's very
- 1:37:44Speaker 5: clear when you said it. I get it.
- 1:37:45Speaker 9: I gotta take some chances, take some some risks to
- 1:37:48Speaker 9: get back. I'm going to take the Falcons because these
- 1:37:51Speaker 9: two are taking everybody else.
- 1:37:54Speaker 16: You should be mooching off what Mike and I are doing.
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll take the falc them just because I think
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: they're better at home.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: This is a tough one. I'm tempted to take the
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: Commanders in an upset, but the Falcons I was wrong
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: in them last week, so I'm not gonna I'm gonna
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: say that they are a better team than I think
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: they are. They're gonna win the game and cover all right.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: One o'clock, one in four, Vikings are at the one
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: and four.
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: Bears Minnesota, Minnesota by two and a half.
- 1:38:31Speaker 8: No, justin Jefferson, Jefferson, that makes me, That makes me
- 1:38:36Speaker 8: really wonder man, I'm gonna take Chicago. I'm gonna take
- 1:38:40Speaker 8: Chicago at home.
- 1:38:41Speaker 16: Have the Bears won a game yet?
- 1:38:42Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:38:42Speaker 9: Yeah, they beat the Commander.
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: They broke what a fourteen game losing streak or something like.
- 1:38:46Speaker 8: That, they had one since they won here.
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: Home?
- 1:38:50Speaker 16: Dogs too?
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: Why not?
- 1:38:52Speaker 5: Eh?
- 1:38:53Speaker 16: No, never mind Vikings really Yeah?
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know.
- 1:38:58Speaker 9: I was about to dare you.
- 1:39:00Speaker 8: I can guess.
- 1:39:00Speaker 3: So I'm gonna go with the second guests.
- 1:39:01Speaker 9: I'm going with the Bears. I wonder if Minnesota similar
- 1:39:05Speaker 9: to the Patriots, Like, are they letting go of the
- 1:39:07Speaker 9: rope there in Mini?
- 1:39:09Speaker 13: No?
- 1:39:09Speaker 9: Justin Jefferson one and four, I'm taking the Bears.
- 1:39:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I can't do it. I'll take the.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: Vikings Da Bears. I'm taking the Bears. One o'clock. Three
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: and one. Seahawks are at the two and three.
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: Bengals Cincinnati by three.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:39:27Speaker 8: I'm surprised at that, all right, as I am, Jamar Chase.
- 1:39:31Speaker 5: But like which way? I didn't think itither be a
- 1:39:34Speaker 5: bigger spread or smaller.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: I thought it'd be like at one point either way.
- 1:39:38Speaker 5: But three you thought to be a smaller.
- 1:39:40Speaker 8: Yeah, interesting game. I mean, I think Seattle has been
- 1:39:44Speaker 8: stacking some good dbs in their backfield to deal with
- 1:39:47Speaker 8: with Cincinnati's passing attack. But I'm gonna take Cincinnati at
- 1:39:50Speaker 8: home as they continue to get hot after their horrific start.
- 1:39:55Speaker 8: I will lay the points.
- 1:39:57Speaker 10: Cincinnati and the points just.
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: Like Joe Burrow.
- 1:40:01Speaker 9: You're right, I do.
- 1:40:02Speaker 8: Oh you mean her?
- 1:40:03Speaker 16: Okay too, he's too young for me.
- 1:40:06Speaker 8: It's okay.
- 1:40:08Speaker 9: I like Cincinnati both ways, like them to cover in
- 1:40:11Speaker 9: this game. Ten o'clock body clock game for the Seahawks,
- 1:40:16Speaker 9: ten am, early morning for them.
- 1:40:18Speaker 5: That's tough.
- 1:40:19Speaker 8: I could play in the morning there, do you go?
- 1:40:21Speaker 8: I think I'd be good my body clock.
- 1:40:23Speaker 9: I was the total opposite.
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: It was like a three in the afternoon game.
- 1:40:27Speaker 8: My coach was like the.
- 1:40:29Speaker 9: Before school practices. I was yacking six am.
- 1:40:33Speaker 5: Yeah. I will take the Bengals as well. I think
- 1:40:36Speaker 5: they finally showed some signs of snapping out of it.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: As always f the Bengals Seahawks both ways, which is.
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: Also the biggest reason why Paul is catching up.
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: Sunday at one, the five and forty nine Ers are
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: at the two and two.
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: Browns winers by seven.
- 1:40:55Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:40:55Speaker 8: I was gonna say that's that's gotta move right, I'm
- 1:41:00Speaker 8: going to take San Francisco. Just really impressed with them
- 1:41:03Speaker 8: as a team on both sides of the ball. And
- 1:41:06Speaker 8: uh and I'm gonna lay the points to is it?
- 1:41:08Speaker 5: Who is it? As anybody knowlf Watson is playing.
- 1:41:11Speaker 9: I don't think so, No, it doesn't sound like it.
- 1:41:13Speaker 5: So I'll take San fran my own five fantasy team,
- 1:41:17Speaker 5: continuing to take hits.
- 1:41:18Speaker 9: Yeah, San Francisco.
- 1:41:20Speaker 10: San Francisco minus.
- 1:41:21Speaker 9: Seven, forty nine ers win, forty nine ers cover. That
- 1:41:26Speaker 9: team is a wagon.
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: Could they go seventeen and zero? It's possible, Like, who's
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: gonna be?
- 1:41:31Speaker 16: What do they have left to play?
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: They need injuries.
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: Philadelphia is on the schedule.
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: Okay, that could be a tough game Patriots.
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean there's twelve games left. There's a
- 1:41:39Speaker 5: lot of injuries. I will take the Niners both.
- 1:41:41Speaker 8: Christian McCaffrey is not Yeah, take I'm going to take the.
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: Niners as well. What's Deebo Samuel's contract situation. I don't know.
- 1:41:52Speaker 8: We could probably kidnap him if you want.
- 1:41:54Speaker 9: That's why he's not going anywhere.
- 1:41:57Speaker 5: Sunday in two years when he's done.
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: How many of us would it take to abduct him?
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: Sunday at one and are at the two and three Texans.
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: New Orleans by one by one.
- 1:42:11Speaker 8: Nice win last week for New Orleans. They're back on
- 1:42:13Speaker 8: the road again, though not that very far of a
- 1:42:15Speaker 8: trip I'm gonna take. I'm gonna i gonna go with
- 1:42:18Speaker 8: New Orleans. I thought they looked pretty good last week,
- 1:42:19Speaker 8: and especially on defense. So I'll take New Orleans and
- 1:42:21Speaker 8: lay the point.
- 1:42:27Speaker 5: Wow dead the other. It's a killer on the round.
- 1:42:30Speaker 10: I'll I'll go with New Orleans just to move it
- 1:42:33Speaker 10: on to Evan.
- 1:42:35Speaker 8: That's like a coin flip.
- 1:42:36Speaker 9: I'll go at the Saints. I saw enough last week
- 1:42:40Speaker 9: for them. I don't know. I like what the Texans
- 1:42:42Speaker 9: are building down there, though they're scrappy.
- 1:42:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it is a coin flip game. I'm just gonna
- 1:42:45Speaker 5: go with the home team for that reason only. I'll
- 1:42:48Speaker 5: take Houston.
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: Usually when a team beats the Patriots, to say, you know,
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: they just won their Super Bowl, so they're gonna have
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: a letdown. Now, you say, now, they say they won
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: their preseason game game, so they're learning. Uh, That's why
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: I think the Saints.
- 1:43:05Speaker 10: The Saints had a big night at Club dub.
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: After the game.
- 1:43:12Speaker 10: I was like walking by to get to our postgame pressers,
- 1:43:15Speaker 10: and I could hear what was going on in there,
- 1:43:17Speaker 10: and I was like, I am gonna linger because this
- 1:43:19Speaker 10: sounds fun. And I hear what comes out of they
- 1:43:22Speaker 10: have like they had a disco ball in there.
- 1:43:25Speaker 8: It's fun.
- 1:43:26Speaker 5: Someone should have made me aware of this.
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: That's pretty wild. It's on the social media. I'm taking
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: the Saints. Sorry, one o'clock, the three and two Colts.
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: Anthony Richardson is out. I are and against the three
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: and two Jaguars.
- 1:43:45Speaker 5: Jacksonville by foe four.
- 1:43:47Speaker 8: This is Jacksonville fashion game back on State Soil. I'm
- 1:43:51Speaker 8: gonna go with Trevor Lawrence against the banged up.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: State side state side.
- 1:43:56Speaker 8: Yeah, to win, Jaguars to come to but kind of
- 1:44:00Speaker 8: rolled his eyes. Shut your mouth, stolen Valor.
- 1:44:07Speaker 9: I'm gonna take Jaguars and I'm gonna take the No,
- 1:44:11Speaker 9: you know, I'm gonna take the Colts three point game.
- 1:44:14Speaker 9: Jaguars win but Colts cover.
- 1:44:16Speaker 5: Yes, I would agree with Evan. I'm gonna do the same.
- 1:44:20Speaker 5: I don't think they lose much with quarterback with Minshew,
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: so I think he'll keep it close. But Jacksonville wins.
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: Yes, I'm gonna split the baby as well. Jaguars win,
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: but they do not cover.
- 1:44:32Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: Sunday at one, the ozero and five Panthers, we need
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: them to get a win against the four and one.
- 1:44:39Speaker 5: Dolphinshi emybody thirteen and a halfesh.
- 1:44:44Speaker 8: Wow, you know I'm developing a theory a little bit
- 1:44:48Speaker 8: about Miami that that they got to get home field advanage.
- 1:44:51Speaker 8: I think they were just really hard to beat at home.
- 1:44:53Speaker 8: But I just wonder on the road elements winner, like
- 1:44:55Speaker 8: maybe that'll slow them down a little bit. But this
- 1:44:57Speaker 8: is a home game for them. I'm gonna take Miami
- 1:45:00Speaker 8: and I'm gonna lay all them points.
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: I'll take the Dolphins.
- 1:45:06Speaker 16: I'm gonna give them the points too.
- 1:45:09Speaker 9: I'm gonna take the Dolphins. I am tempted to say
- 1:45:13Speaker 9: the Panthers can cover that spread though when you really
- 1:45:17Speaker 9: think about it, Yeah, when you really think about it,
- 1:45:19Speaker 9: be honest, all right, Yeah, Dolphins both ways.
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm taking Miami both ways too. I just think
- 1:45:24Speaker 5: it's tough for you know, a young quarterback to keep
- 1:45:28Speaker 5: up in a situation like that.
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go Dolphins both ways. I you know,
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: talk about tanking. I think the Panthers might be like Okay.
- 1:45:39Speaker 8: Let's just get another one.
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: Let's just go for another one. Let's just go for it.
- 1:45:43Speaker 8: You get that receiver and that first pick.
- 1:45:46Speaker 5: Team, Yes, you want to fill them in? What say
- 1:45:50Speaker 5: that again? Fred?
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: They I think they're gonna tank the Panthers for what
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: for the first pick?
- 1:45:55Speaker 9: They don't have their own pick.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: They don't have their own they don't have a first.
- 1:45:58Speaker 5: Round Remember, don't remember when you did this to me yesterday.
- 1:46:02Speaker 8: Who knew this was going to be your best piece
- 1:46:04Speaker 8: of information?
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:46:05Speaker 9: I was like, already the next game. I was looking
- 1:46:07Speaker 9: at the next game. And no, it's sad, but you
- 1:46:10Speaker 9: know how much I know they don't have to order
- 1:46:12Speaker 9: right now.
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: But they don't have a pick in the first round.
- 1:46:14Speaker 5: No oh No, I would also say they have no
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: reason to tank. They just took the number one pick
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: in the draft.
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: But now they want to build around him. You know,
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: I mean, they're going to be able to do that
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: whether they tank or not, you know, if they had
- 1:46:30Speaker 5: a first round right.
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: But they don't. So, but I'm saying now it's all
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: screwed up.
- 1:46:33Speaker 5: They're not taking a quarterback anyways.
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: I didn't think they would, but I think you know,
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: you go for Marvin Harrison June.
- 1:46:40Speaker 5: So since then you'll be able to get that.
- 1:46:42Speaker 9: Since some of our audience cares you had to pick,
- 1:46:44Speaker 9: you don't have to.
- 1:46:45Speaker 5: They don't have that.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: My point is you don't have to tank for that,
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: right so then so then they're not tanking, so but
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: they're still not bad.
- 1:46:54Speaker 9: Still some of our audience cares about this. All right,
- 1:46:57Speaker 9: So here's the draft order as of right now. Chicago,
- 1:47:01Speaker 9: Chicago because they have Carolina's pick, So Chicago, Chicago, Denver, Minnesota,
- 1:47:06Speaker 9: and then Patriots at five.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: Right now, right now as it stands as okay, all right,
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: now we move. We're moving over the four oh five game.
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: There's only one four oh five game, and that is
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: our Patriots, So we're gonna skip that. We're gonna go
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: to four to twenty five Detroit Tampa. That's a four
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: to twenty.
- 1:47:30Speaker 8: Five oh sorry minus.
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: Yeah, So we're gonna go to four twenty five where
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: the four and one Lions are at the three and
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: one Buccaneers.
- 1:47:38Speaker 5: Then to defend Mike. I'm not positive, but I believe
- 1:47:41Speaker 5: this was the first game that was flexed. That Detroit
- 1:47:44Speaker 5: Tampa game was moved from one to four to twenty
- 1:47:46Speaker 5: five two weeks ago. I think I'm okay.
- 1:47:49Speaker 8: I didn't. I didn't take it too hard.
- 1:47:51Speaker 5: I could be.
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: But according to NFL dot com, this is a four
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: to twenty five game. The four and one Lions are
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: at the three and one Buccaneers.
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: Dittois by three. That's really six.
- 1:48:04Speaker 8: Detroit is hot, hot, hot, even though it's not. Yeah,
- 1:48:09Speaker 8: I think Tampa Bay is is still has a pretty
- 1:48:11Speaker 8: good defense. I think they'll be a pretty good test
- 1:48:13Speaker 8: for Detroit. But I gotta take the road road faves
- 1:48:15Speaker 8: and taking the Lions.
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: I like the Lions a lot.
- 1:48:21Speaker 9: Do you like their offensive coordinator a lot? Yeah, yells
- 1:48:24Speaker 9: at kids at school, plays just asking for no reason whatsoever,
- 1:48:29Speaker 9: Watch my kid.
- 1:48:30Speaker 10: I need to do more research before I come to
- 1:48:32Speaker 10: that conclusion, because that could either be funny to me
- 1:48:34Speaker 10: or mean. But I think I'm going to pick the
- 1:48:37Speaker 10: Bucks to cover in taking the Lion. Oh wait, yeah,
- 1:48:41Speaker 10: I'm going to pick the Lions to win and the
- 1:48:43Speaker 10: Bucks cover.
- 1:48:44Speaker 9: At home with Alex, I think that the Lions win,
- 1:48:48Speaker 9: but it's a three point game, the Bucks cover, and
- 1:48:51Speaker 9: maybe the future head coach of the Patriots on the
- 1:48:53Speaker 9: offensive coordinator there for the Lions.
- 1:48:56Speaker 5: I will take Detroit and I will lay the points.
- 1:48:58Speaker 5: I think this is a reality check for the Bucks.
- 1:49:01Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: Usually I like to see Mayfield bake, but I'm gonna
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: have the Lions covering in this game. I think they
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: got something going here. Four five, the one in four
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Cardinals are at the two and three Rams Rams by seven.
- 1:49:21Speaker 8: All right, I'm gonna take the Rams to win, but
- 1:49:23Speaker 8: I'm gonna take the points for Arizona. I think it'll
- 1:49:27Speaker 8: be they've been playing tough and divisional game. Take those
- 1:49:30Speaker 8: seven points.
- 1:49:31Speaker 9: The Rams own the Cardinals. Correct.
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: Oh no, I believe he.
- 1:49:33Speaker 8: Didn't tell me that before. I maybe think you picked
- 1:49:35Speaker 8: the Rams. Oh right, okay, good, then leave it.
- 1:49:38Speaker 10: I'm gonna make pick the Rams and pick the Rams
- 1:49:41Speaker 10: to take the points. I haven't seen much either of
- 1:49:44Speaker 10: these teams, though, so this.
- 1:49:45Speaker 9: Is just I'm going to do the same. I think
- 1:49:48Speaker 9: the Rams are just a lot better than the Cardinals.
- 1:49:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I do too. I will take the Rams to win,
- 1:49:53Speaker 5: but I I just have been impressed with how hard
- 1:49:56Speaker 5: Arizona's played, so somehow maybe a backdoor cover. So I'll
- 1:49:59Speaker 5: take the but I'll take the points as well.
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: I could see that, but I think the Cardinals are
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: tired now. They've been playing really hard, so I'm gonna
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: take the Rams both ways, four to five. The five
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: and zero Eagles are at the two and three Jets.
- 1:50:17Speaker 5: Iggles by seven.
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: At at New York. It's really New Jersey.
- 1:50:23Speaker 10: So DraftKings right now has minus six and a.
- 1:50:25Speaker 16: Half, so not much of a difference.
- 1:50:26Speaker 8: But I'm gonna take Philadelphia to win, and yeah, I'm
- 1:50:31Speaker 8: gonna I'm gonna lay those points. I do respect the
- 1:50:33Speaker 8: Jets defense, but I think Philadelphia is gonna slowly start
- 1:50:36Speaker 8: to pick up steam here Philly, Philly.
- 1:50:40Speaker 9: I'm going to Philly Philly too. Statistically right now, the
- 1:50:42Speaker 9: Jets defense not not doing so. I don't know if
- 1:50:45Speaker 9: that's because they're pulling there all the weight by themselves.
- 1:50:48Speaker 5: But smelling themselves they're upset about the way they've played.
- 1:50:53Speaker 5: I am going to take Philadelphia to win the game,
- 1:50:55Speaker 5: but I will take the points at home. The Jets,
- 1:50:57Speaker 5: I think, came back from Denver feeling pretty good about them.
- 1:51:00Speaker 5: I'd be surprised if they late a stinker.
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: Yep, Philly Jets for me. Jets cover uh eight twenty
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: and be sure. The one and four Giants are at
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: the three and two Bills.
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: Bills by fourteen. Oh boy good wow.
- 1:51:20Speaker 8: Yeah, so that's I'm gonna take Buffalo to win. There
- 1:51:24Speaker 8: is Brian Dable returns home with Daniel Jones. I'm gonna
- 1:51:31Speaker 8: I'm you know what, I'm gonna take those points, too
- 1:51:33Speaker 8: many points. I feel like maybe Brian Dable knows a
- 1:51:35Speaker 8: little bit, maybe a little something at least keep it
- 1:51:37Speaker 8: within ten. I'm gonna take take the points.
- 1:51:41Speaker 16: I'm gonna take Buffalo both ways.
- 1:51:45Speaker 9: I'm gonna take Buffalo, but I'm with Mike. I think
- 1:51:47Speaker 9: Dabel might know a little thing or two about Josh Allen.
- 1:51:50Speaker 9: So I take the Giants to cover that fourteen and
- 1:51:52Speaker 9: a half point.
- 1:51:53Speaker 5: I I like the theory. I'm not gonna take it,
- 1:51:55Speaker 5: but I do like that theory about you're wrong. No,
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: this is more because I think Buffalo is sort of
- 1:52:00Speaker 5: established itself as they they slip up, they come back
- 1:52:04Speaker 5: with a vengeance. They blow a team out, and that's
- 1:52:06Speaker 5: how they win because they don't generally win if it's close.
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: So I'm going to take Buffalo to bounce back.
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: And yeah, I think that I think the wise guys
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: Sharps know something here. So Bills cover this game. They
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: know something. Something's up here.
- 1:52:23Speaker 8: A smell it, smell it.
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: Sometimes you look at me.
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: I don't know what you want me to say, right,
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: I just want to see if you're going to say something.
- 1:52:34Speaker 5: Just no, one really knows what you're talking about. The
- 1:52:37Speaker 5: sharps know if you're a sharp, you know, trying to
- 1:52:42Speaker 5: insinuate that that's an odd spread for you. No, it's
- 1:52:45Speaker 5: it's it's one of the three worst teams in the
- 1:52:47Speaker 5: league against one of the three best teams in the league.
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: And it's a big spread, biggest spread of the week, right.
- 1:52:54Speaker 9: Yeah, Like in Vegas, they usually have a big spread
- 1:52:56Speaker 9: in the press box.
- 1:52:56Speaker 8: Yeah, I was thinking about that spreads.
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: Yeah, they have a good, good spread, good spread. Eight
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: fifteen Monday Night on ABC, ESPN, ESPN Deportes and NFL Plus.
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: Probably the three and two Cowboys are at the two
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: and two Chargers.
- 1:53:17Speaker 5: The Cowboys by two charges coming off a bye and
- 1:53:20Speaker 5: what will feel like an incredible home game for Dallas.
- 1:53:23Speaker 8: I'm sure, yeah, Dan, Dallas Scott shellacked last week. How
- 1:53:28Speaker 8: do they rebound second straight game? California? Ah, this is
- 1:53:32Speaker 8: a tough one. I'm gonna I'm gonna go I'm gonna
- 1:53:35Speaker 8: go with the black. I'm gonna roll the dice with
- 1:53:37Speaker 8: the lack. Let's see if they can hold Serve at
- 1:53:39Speaker 8: home and keep Dallas down.
- 1:53:42Speaker 10: I'm gonna look for Dallas to bounce back.
- 1:53:45Speaker 16: I'm gonna take Dallas with the points.
- 1:53:47Speaker 9: Dallas go home after this game or the San Francisco game,
- 1:53:50Speaker 9: or do they pull a Bill Belichick.
- 1:53:51Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:53:52Speaker 8: Maybe they stayed in Santa Barbara feel they don't have
- 1:53:55Speaker 8: that halfway.
- 1:53:56Speaker 9: I don't know. Yeah, you're probably right, not that, not
- 1:53:58Speaker 9: as far as here. I'm gonna go Dallas, though.
- 1:54:02Speaker 8: Well, they have the facility, they train in the Oxnar. Yeah,
- 1:54:05Speaker 8: it's almost like convenient.
- 1:54:07Speaker 5: But sorry, I can't.
- 1:54:08Speaker 9: I just can't trust the Chargers. I just can't trust
- 1:54:11Speaker 9: that coaching Dallas.
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: You're so right, I'm gonna take the lack. I know
- 1:54:15Speaker 5: what's gonna happen. I know that they're gonna be in
- 1:54:17Speaker 5: complete control of the game at some point, and I
- 1:54:20Speaker 5: know he's gonna do something stupid late in the fourth quarter.
- 1:54:22Speaker 9: It's gonna go for it on fourth down and.
- 1:54:24Speaker 5: Give Dallas a chance. And it's just a matter of
- 1:54:26Speaker 5: whether or not Dallas takes advantage of the love the
- 1:54:28Speaker 5: last opportunity that they would gifted. But I'm gonna take
- 1:54:30Speaker 5: the Chargers.
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: I'm just gonna go with what I want to happen here.
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: It's the Chargers. I want the Charges to win.
- 1:54:37Speaker 9: But fair enough, how sad is it that he can
- 1:54:39Speaker 9: do that and like have better records, like you can
- 1:54:42Speaker 9: just be like if the Bengals, I'm taking the Seahawks.
- 1:54:44Speaker 5: And then, as you guys know, I tend to look
- 1:54:47Speaker 5: at things from a negative perspective at times. It's sad
- 1:54:49Speaker 5: to me that he's no longer thinking about the Patriots.
- 1:54:52Speaker 5: He's saying, what I want to happen is the AFC
- 1:54:56Speaker 5: team to beat the RUE team.
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: It's a good point.
- 1:54:58Speaker 9: It's sad point.
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: It's really sad reality though.
- 1:55:02Speaker 5: That should be a team that you're saying.
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: It's the Cowboys, though, I just I love it when
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: they lose. The We go back now to four o
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: five and they one and four Patriots visiting the two
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: and three Raiders.
- 1:55:22Speaker 8: Three Raiders by three. Ah These teams are very very
- 1:55:25Speaker 8: similar to me, and I'm gonna just go with the
- 1:55:29Speaker 8: team with the better couple of players. At least, you know,
- 1:55:32Speaker 8: it's enough for me after Adams and Crosby. Those two
- 1:55:37Speaker 8: guys just tip the scales. So I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:55:39Speaker 8: take Vegas and I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:55:43Speaker 16: I want to be a company gal, but.
- 1:55:49Speaker 10: Raiders twenty seven seventeen Wow, seventeen nice.
- 1:55:57Speaker 9: So I also want to be a company man, be
- 1:56:01Speaker 9: a company gal, company pal. But I think ultimately the
- 1:56:05Speaker 9: Raiders have the weapons on offense that the Patriots don't,
- 1:56:09Speaker 9: and I can't get over that that DeVante Adams and Jared,
- 1:56:15Speaker 9: Josh Jacobs and Jacoby and they just have too much.
- 1:56:19Speaker 9: I think for the Patriots, I'm taking the Raiders twenty
- 1:56:22Speaker 9: to fourteen. Both offenses have not really scored a whole
- 1:56:26Speaker 9: lot of points, but I think that they make one
- 1:56:27Speaker 9: or two more plays, one or two more plays than
- 1:56:30Speaker 9: you because of the talent.
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I look at it very similar to everybody else.
- 1:56:35Speaker 5: Nineteen thirteen Raiders, just a little bit more offense for them.
- 1:56:41Speaker 5: But I think it will be a lot of field
- 1:56:43Speaker 5: goals because I don't see the either team being able
- 1:56:46Speaker 5: to just sort of maintain their drives all the way through.
- 1:56:50Speaker 5: So I think you'll see a lot of field goals.
- 1:56:51Speaker 5: I like Daniel Carlson to bounce back after missing too
- 1:56:54Speaker 5: last week.
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: We started to show off trying to find glimmers of hope,
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: this hope, where would it be? Didn't find any. You know,
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: we talked about it, we tried to manufacture it.
- 1:57:06Speaker 5: I don't even know who you are.
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: Nothing we talked about, like, really, move the needle for me.
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It's the Raiders twenty four to eighteen and
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: a half. Interesting somehow half there's a half point. It's
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: a weird game.
- 1:57:20Speaker 5: If there's an offense that could generate a half a point, right,
- 1:57:23Speaker 5: it's you a New England Patriot.
- 1:57:24Speaker 1: Yes, somehow, somehow the Patriots become the first. There's a
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: lot of historical things that they're doing this year, like
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: losing eighty to nothing. So we've never seen an eight
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: and a half a point game. I think we're going
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: to see it this week. Winds because we are weird
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: rule that no one knew about. It took Yeah, I
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: don't know. In other words, Raiders went sorry.
- 1:57:48Speaker 5: That's what it has to story.
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: So just remember it's better to have been at dynasty
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: and fallen than never to have been a dynasty at all.
- 1:57:56Speaker 8: You can put that up on the wall. Maybe that
- 1:57:57Speaker 8: would that would help people.
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: All Right, coming up, it is Catch twenty two with
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: Evan and Alex. They're gonna dissect and analyze a lot
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: more of this game coming up, and they'll probably get
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: into college stuff and all that, you know, much to
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: Alex Evan's chagrin, but it's Alex, So all right, pregame show,
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: what time we're going one game, postgame show after that.
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: We'll see you next Tuesday. Not good.
