- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome into this week's episode of Inside the Charge. I'm
- 0:11Speaker 1: Maddi Glab and my good friend, Bill's cornerback Tredavius White
- 0:15Speaker 1: is back with us again. Trey, how you doing.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I'm doing good. I'm back. He's back, even with it Ill,
- 0:22Speaker 2: I'm back.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I like that.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I'm back.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I said, Trey, what do you want to do this week?
- 0:26Speaker 1: He said, Maddie, I'm showing up to work. And I said,
- 0:28Speaker 1: I love your attitude.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Yes. Absolutely. You think I was going to pass up
- 0:32Speaker 2: the opportunity to get back on this show to show
- 0:35Speaker 2: myself Heck no, to show some resiliency. Yeah, this is
- 0:39Speaker 2: how we're going to do it.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We got some good things to talk about this week.
- 0:42Speaker 1: We will recap the Miami game, also talk about Trey's
- 0:45Speaker 1: routine on the road. Later on, I interview Bill's defensive
- 0:50Speaker 1: enjoy Bosa, and we're going to recap with a little
- 0:53Speaker 1: bit of LSU football talk as well as Trey has
- 0:56Speaker 1: a pretty hot take in college football. He wants to
- 0:59Speaker 1: see if you guys are free with him. Let's get
- 1:02Speaker 1: too now that's coming to you today, But first let's
- 1:05Speaker 1: start with the Miami game. A tough loss for you guys,
- 1:08Speaker 1: Trade Sean McDermott spoke to the media on Monday and said,
- 1:11Speaker 1: we as a team have got to learn from this
- 1:14Speaker 1: loss and we have to move forward. How do you
- 1:17Speaker 1: like to learn from losses?
- 1:19Speaker 2: First, I like to look myself in the mirror, see
- 1:22Speaker 2: where I could have been better, for my teammates, what
- 1:26Speaker 2: I could have done done better throughout the week, to
- 1:28Speaker 2: prepare myself a little bit better. Just try to look
- 1:31Speaker 2: yourself in the mirror and just try to start with yourself.
- 1:34Speaker 2: And I always tend to do that even in a
- 1:36Speaker 2: win or loss. Try to sort of keep the same
- 1:39Speaker 2: type of mindset, the same floor of the week. But uh,
- 1:43Speaker 2: you know, you look at the tape, you learn from it.
- 1:45Speaker 2: You know, you try to, like like CO said, you
- 1:48Speaker 2: learn from it and try to not let it creep
- 1:50Speaker 2: into to your routine this week, creep into the next week.
- 1:53Speaker 2: So we know how this thing go. It's a week
- 1:56Speaker 2: to week league. You just sort of, you know, take
- 1:59Speaker 2: it week by week like I said, And you know
- 2:01Speaker 2: we're gonna go in You know, we watched the tape yesterday,
- 2:03Speaker 2: able to correct some some things we got to get
- 2:05Speaker 2: cleaned up. But the teammates that I have and the
- 2:09Speaker 2: team that we have. We got a lot of guys
- 2:11Speaker 2: to play a ton of football that knows how this
- 2:14Speaker 2: league goes. So it's week coming up on Week eleven, Okay,
- 2:19Speaker 2: so we so we have eight more games. That's a
- 2:21Speaker 2: ton of football. So you know, we gotta be urgent
- 2:25Speaker 2: in the way that we prepare about the things that
- 2:28Speaker 2: we need to improve. But not let this shake our
- 2:30Speaker 2: confidence and know that ultimately winning a Week nine game,
- 2:35Speaker 2: it's not you know, the NL be all, you know,
- 2:39Speaker 2: not gonna win the Super Bowling, you know, early in November,
- 2:42Speaker 2: but you know, you definitely want to win those games.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I guess a divisional opponent. But we got to move
- 2:48Speaker 2: forward and don't let that affect the next game.
- 2:51Speaker 1: You spoke about Monday being a big film day for
- 2:54Speaker 1: the team as a whole. Now, when you're in the
- 2:56Speaker 1: dB room watching film together, how collaborative is that.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I mean, we do a great job of watching the corners,
- 3:04Speaker 2: watch with the safeties. So whenever you know, we go
- 3:09Speaker 2: over game film, you know, we get that communication, We
- 3:11Speaker 2: get that feedback collectively because we got a lot of
- 3:14Speaker 2: guys that played a ton of football. You know, we
- 3:16Speaker 2: got Jordan Porter, then you have Cold, then you got
- 3:18Speaker 2: a mix of young guys of Cold and Maxwell and
- 3:22Speaker 2: Jordan Hancock. So I feel like our coaches do a
- 3:25Speaker 2: great job of incorporating us into the room together so
- 3:28Speaker 2: we can get each other's feedback on what we could
- 3:30Speaker 2: have done better communicating, you know, because in the back
- 3:33Speaker 2: end that's the most important thing is the communication and
- 3:36Speaker 2: being on the same page. So it hasn't been a
- 3:39Speaker 2: ton of times this year where we had blown coverage
- 3:42Speaker 2: or bust the coverages because of the way that we
- 3:45Speaker 2: communicate go through the week, like I said last week,
- 3:48Speaker 2: of mixing different people in no matter who's in, everybody's
- 3:53Speaker 2: communicat well. So we do a great job of that.
- 3:55Speaker 2: But you know, ultimately you go into the film room,
- 3:58Speaker 2: you just want to see where you can get better,
- 3:59Speaker 2: and and uh, we do a great job of that.
- 4:01Speaker 2: We got a resilient group of guys not only in
- 4:03Speaker 2: the back end, but lineback and room in up front.
- 4:07Speaker 2: So I'm not too much worried, but we just don't
- 4:10Speaker 2: know going into this week. We gotta we got a
- 4:12Speaker 2: tough point that's coming in and uh, you know, they
- 4:14Speaker 2: came off af all lost too, so it's gonna be
- 4:17Speaker 2: a it's gonna be a great grame on Sunday. But
- 4:19Speaker 2: we just got to start with taking it one day
- 4:21Speaker 2: at a time and preparing and getting into the film
- 4:24Speaker 2: room and just seeing what the Bucks do.
- 4:27Speaker 1: The NFL season is super long. There's a lot of
- 4:30Speaker 1: highs and lows that go along with every single season,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and as a veteran, you know not to ride the
- 4:36Speaker 1: highs too high or the lows too low. The rookies
- 4:39Speaker 1: and the younger players have to learn that as a leader.
- 4:42Speaker 1: How do you help them along the way?
- 4:45Speaker 2: I feel like the best thing you could do. You know,
- 4:48Speaker 2: you could tell the guys about it, but you know,
- 4:51Speaker 2: you really can't simulate it until you go through it.
- 4:53Speaker 2: So you know we're going through it now. Where we
- 4:55Speaker 2: were we lost one four straight, then we lost two,
- 4:59Speaker 2: then we picked back up after the buy, and then
- 5:01Speaker 2: we lost lost another I mean want to in a row,
- 5:04Speaker 2: and then lost one. So it's just one of those things.
- 5:08Speaker 2: But they're learning fast that how this lead work is
- 5:11Speaker 2: not like college. If you win, lose one game or
- 5:13Speaker 2: lose two that you're out of the whole picture. Or
- 5:15Speaker 2: you're learning that you know, each and every week you
- 5:18Speaker 2: got to come with your best shot. You know, we're
- 5:20Speaker 2: the Bills we've been winning for from some time now,
- 5:23Speaker 2: so we're gonna get everybody best shot. And those guys
- 5:25Speaker 2: are learning that. You know, they're learning fast. But you know,
- 5:29Speaker 2: we got a good group of guys, you know, mixed
- 5:31Speaker 2: with guys veterans on the team that you know, help
- 5:33Speaker 2: these guys alone and each step of the way. So
- 5:36Speaker 2: in every room that we have, we have a veteran
- 5:38Speaker 2: that's been in the league eight plus years. So these
- 5:41Speaker 2: young guys have, you know, some of the best some
- 5:44Speaker 2: of the best people they can ask for advice or
- 5:48Speaker 2: just to look at how you know, these veterans handle
- 5:51Speaker 2: losses and wins. You know, most of the guys around here,
- 5:54Speaker 2: you know, after win, the same routine. After the loss,
- 5:57Speaker 2: it's the same routine. So example, Matt Malone is gonna
- 6:00Speaker 2: be the same guy. He's been doing it for nine
- 6:03Speaker 2: years at a high level of he's he know how
- 6:06Speaker 2: to feel to be five and eleven, know how to
- 6:08Speaker 2: feel to be four and thirteen, So I mean I
- 6:10Speaker 2: mean four to three. So you know, with this, you know,
- 6:14Speaker 2: these guys are gonna learn fast. And I just feel like,
- 6:16Speaker 2: you know, we have the great we have a great
- 6:18Speaker 2: locker room. So these guys, you know, once they go
- 6:21Speaker 2: on into to their career, they can be able to
- 6:24Speaker 2: reach back and help guys like we're helping them now.
- 6:27Speaker 2: So nothing too much to really worry about. I just
- 6:31Speaker 2: think that, you know, the guys just got to learn
- 6:35Speaker 2: and just continue to watch the guys around him to
- 6:38Speaker 2: pick up on that routine. So you know, once they
- 6:40Speaker 2: get into a situation where their leader on a team
- 6:43Speaker 2: that they can help young guys to you.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Guys do such a good job of making the younger
- 6:47Speaker 1: players feel like they're including in things, feel like they're
- 6:50Speaker 1: a part of the team too, So I know it's
- 6:52Speaker 1: probably easy for them to watch the veterans and feel like, Okay,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna follow what Trey White does because he sets
- 6:58Speaker 1: a great example. And there's also a dialogue between me
- 7:01Speaker 1: and Trey White.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, for sure. You know, I'm an approachable guy,
- 7:05Speaker 2: so come into coming into to come into the locker room.
- 7:09Speaker 2: You know, young guys tend to kind of gravitate to
- 7:12Speaker 2: me because I have this young soul about me even
- 7:13Speaker 2: though I've been playing for playing for some time. But
- 7:16Speaker 2: you know, the young guys come into the locker room
- 7:19Speaker 2: first couple of weeks and they can just tell by
- 7:21Speaker 2: the guys. You know, they can pretty much joke, we
- 7:23Speaker 2: can have you know, fun dialog way. So I'm one
- 7:26Speaker 2: of those guys in the unfortunately for our team, I'm
- 7:28Speaker 2: one of the guys that you know, a lot of
- 7:30Speaker 2: guys respect when they come into the league or have
- 7:33Speaker 2: watched me playing when they were in high school or
- 7:36Speaker 2: earlier on in their college career Coak career. So that's
- 7:39Speaker 2: something that that I cherish, and it's something that I
- 7:41Speaker 2: don't take lightly because of those young guys. You know,
- 7:44Speaker 2: when I speak up, they tend to listen a little bit.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Speaking of young guys, Cold Bishop grabs an interception against Miami.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Maxwell Harrison grabs his second straight interception in two games.
- 7:57Speaker 1: What's the best part about watching young guys put it together?
- 8:01Speaker 2: The best part is, you know, just seeing their expression
- 8:04Speaker 2: and just seeing like the excitement level that they have
- 8:07Speaker 2: after making an amazing play like Cole made amazing play,
- 8:11Speaker 2: like one of the best plays I've seen, like the
- 8:13Speaker 2: way that he tracked the ball in the air, was
- 8:15Speaker 2: able to go get it up at the highest point.
- 8:17Speaker 2: But that's something that we practice each and every week.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Were on the drugs, catching the ball, you always out
- 8:23Speaker 2: there seeing it. So that's some of the things that
- 8:25Speaker 2: we do each and every week. And you know, whenever
- 8:27Speaker 2: you know, the players that separate themselves are the ones
- 8:30Speaker 2: that can go from practice and pretty much put it
- 8:34Speaker 2: together in the game when the bullets are flying and
- 8:37Speaker 2: when the pressure is high, And that was one of
- 8:39Speaker 2: those situations where you know, Cole didn't see anybody else
- 8:42Speaker 2: but the ball and he went up there and made
- 8:44Speaker 2: an amazing play for our team on the first third
- 8:47Speaker 2: down of the game, which is a big momentum building
- 8:50Speaker 2: for us because Miami won the toss and they elected
- 8:54Speaker 2: to receive the ball, so that was big for us
- 8:57Speaker 2: to get three or three and or take away on
- 8:59Speaker 2: the first bis being that they try to come out
- 9:01Speaker 2: high and come out fast, so that was a huge
- 9:03Speaker 2: momentum builder for us.
- 9:04Speaker 1: It was. It was a tone setting play for sure,
- 9:07Speaker 1: and it was fun to see some young guys get
- 9:09Speaker 1: in there grab some interceptions the first multi interception game
- 9:13Speaker 1: of the season. Hopefully a lot more to come for sure.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And playing a divisional opponent, you see them two times
- 9:20Speaker 1: a year. The OC and DC knows the players, they
- 9:23Speaker 1: know how to play them. They usually have a really
- 9:25Speaker 1: good scheme and plan for when they're ready to play
- 9:28Speaker 1: against a divisional opponent. So those are usually games that
- 9:32Speaker 1: come down to the wire, come down to the last
- 9:35Speaker 1: few plays.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean even if you know, most games in
- 9:40Speaker 2: the NFL, most games in you know, professional sports, comes
- 9:43Speaker 2: down to maybe two or three plays, the last two
- 9:47Speaker 2: minute drive of a game, or like like US two
- 9:50Speaker 2: weeks ago against KC, the last play. Serious. I mean,
- 9:53Speaker 2: so you know, you never know how these things can go.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So the only thing you can do as a team
- 9:58Speaker 2: and as a player to try to be assisted each
- 10:00Speaker 2: and every week and rely on your core fundamentals. And
- 10:03Speaker 2: if you do that, you're gonna win more games than
- 10:05Speaker 2: you lose.
- 10:06Speaker 1: All right, Trey, you were on the road against Miami.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I want to know about your routine on the road.
- 10:12Speaker 1: What do you do on the road that you don't
- 10:14Speaker 1: do at home.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'm a pretty boring guy. I mean, like I told you,
- 10:18Speaker 2: I don't if l SH is playing, I'm not leaving
- 10:20Speaker 2: the hotel. I'm not leaving to go anywhere. So I
- 10:23Speaker 2: mean usually on the road, start the plane ride. I
- 10:26Speaker 2: take a nap on a plane ride. I try to
- 10:28Speaker 2: find a movie that I enjoyed. But usually I'm not
- 10:32Speaker 2: watching the movie. The movie. The movie is watching me
- 10:36Speaker 2: more more often than nothing.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But are you somebody who can like, when you sit down,
- 10:41Speaker 1: you can fall asleep anywhere?
- 10:42Speaker 2: Oh for sure, Oh for sure. Definitely. If it's dark,
- 10:46Speaker 2: usually on the plane, I just have a big blanket.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I just cover my whole cover my whole face and
- 10:50Speaker 2: my whole body, and I'm just like, I'm out. I
- 10:53Speaker 2: need it dark. But if I'm not watching the movie,
- 10:56Speaker 2: I'm trying to watch a little bit of film. I
- 10:58Speaker 2: get a good good play the food. But not this week.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Not this week, Maddie. One of our rookies had me
- 11:05Speaker 2: looking like I was going to elementary school. I had
- 11:08Speaker 2: a cold turkey sandwich with two bags of Doritos and
- 11:14Speaker 2: a blue Gatorade. Blame Max harriston this guy. He showed
- 11:18Speaker 2: up to the plane without the PF chain, without the
- 11:22Speaker 2: PF chain. PF chain is to go to for you know,
- 11:26Speaker 2: for the DJ. Yes, yes, And we had plenty of
- 11:29Speaker 2: time to get to the plan for it, to get
- 11:31Speaker 2: to the plane. But you know what. I went to him,
- 11:33Speaker 2: I was like, look, Max, this is what you got
- 11:35Speaker 2: me eating on the plane. And he was like, we
- 11:37Speaker 2: didn't have no time. Nobody such it in the group
- 11:40Speaker 2: message like nobody sent their order, but I was like, no,
- 11:44Speaker 2: this is what you got me eating, Like I'm eating
- 11:46Speaker 2: a turkey sandwich, whiches and two bags of Doritos in
- 11:50Speaker 2: a in a blue gatorade. But uh, we're gonna change that.
- 11:53Speaker 2: But uh but yeah, So usually on the road, like
- 11:56Speaker 2: I try to keep it simple, I don't. I don't
- 11:58Speaker 2: usually try to leave the hotel. I try to stay
- 12:00Speaker 2: in my room as much as popable possible, get as
- 12:03Speaker 2: mush reds as I can. So, you know, we get
- 12:05Speaker 2: to the hotel, we have maybe three hours to get
- 12:08Speaker 2: some food or so those in those three hours, I'm
- 12:11Speaker 2: usually in the room in the bed or getting some treatment,
- 12:15Speaker 2: watching some film. But uh so yeah, there's nothing too
- 12:19Speaker 2: like particular about my you know, by my way trip.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I try to, like I said, give me some food.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I usually get the team's food in the hotel. So
- 12:28Speaker 2: the perdem that I get, the predem that they give
- 12:31Speaker 2: me that you know, for Google to give me in
- 12:32Speaker 2: that pocket on the envelope, that envelope, No, no, no, that's
- 12:37Speaker 2: the gas money for the money for sure, I'm using
- 12:40Speaker 2: that must give it about seven Yeah, that's that's n
- 12:45Speaker 2: I got it and then I have a big escalator too,
- 12:47Speaker 2: so fifty gas. It's not a full tank, but around
- 12:53Speaker 2: gotta driving around. It's the daddy Caddy. Now that's what
- 12:56Speaker 2: I call it, caddy. But yeah, you on the road,
- 13:01Speaker 2: I just you know, like I said, I stay in
- 13:03Speaker 2: the room. I don't do much. I try to, you know,
- 13:05Speaker 2: stay off my feet as much as possible. And then
- 13:07Speaker 2: you know, we have those meets at night, so that's
- 13:10Speaker 2: my time where I get out and you know, talk
- 13:12Speaker 2: to my teammates. But other than that, if I'm on
- 13:14Speaker 2: the road, it's about the game. It's about being my
- 13:16Speaker 2: verson best version of myself. So I think that when
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm going to road out, I don't want to get
- 13:22Speaker 2: locked out. I want to lock in. So I don't
- 13:24Speaker 2: even try to tease myself by going out, try to
- 13:27Speaker 2: get a dinner or something like that, because it's trying
- 13:30Speaker 2: to sort of tea take my mind off the game.
- 13:33Speaker 2: So I want to kind of focus up and just
- 13:35Speaker 2: stay locked in in the moment. So I try to
- 13:37Speaker 2: stay around the hotel and don't leave as much.
- 13:39Speaker 1: That's a veteran answer, Tray. That's somebody who's been in
- 13:43Speaker 1: the league long enough to know when we're on the road.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I'm just gonna do make sure that I'm ready for
- 13:49Speaker 1: the game.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Not to say that I never went out for dinner ever.
- 13:54Speaker 2: So I went out in cities there I've been, but
- 13:57Speaker 2: more times than none, I'm staying at the hotel because
- 14:01Speaker 2: I gotta be locked in. I'm one of the guys
- 14:03Speaker 2: is if I'm teasing myself by going out and just
- 14:06Speaker 2: seeing stuff, seeing a different city, like I'm.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Not locked in, I get the same way. I just
- 14:10Speaker 1: get way too stressed out. I'm like, I just I
- 14:13Speaker 1: need to focus on the thing that I need to
- 14:14Speaker 1: focus on. I'm doing something else that my head is
- 14:18Speaker 1: not nice.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And you know, in a place like Miam, you can
- 14:21Speaker 2: get carried away. You know, you got the beach, you
- 14:24Speaker 2: have the sun over here. You know you got the
- 14:26Speaker 2: nice cars are going around. You know, it's nice restaurants everywhere.
- 14:30Speaker 2: But all the prices are inflated too. That's why i
- 14:33Speaker 2: feel like I'm glad that I have a mindset to,
- 14:35Speaker 2: you know, stay around the hotel because I've said over
- 14:38Speaker 2: the years now I probably saved them a lot of
- 14:42Speaker 2: money by just staying at the hotel, staying consistent, eating
- 14:48Speaker 2: the same foods, you know, because we have a pretty
- 14:50Speaker 2: good spread. Though it is good to put a little
- 14:54Speaker 2: some pepper on it. You good, good to go. So
- 14:58Speaker 2: I'm good. We was in Miami this week. You need
- 15:00Speaker 2: a lot of salt.
- 15:01Speaker 1: It was hot, that's true.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Got to have our electrolytes, so we had a lot
- 15:05Speaker 2: of I had a lot of salt on that take
- 15:07Speaker 2: this weekend. So you know, I got to buy at
- 15:10Speaker 2: the cramps. No cramps this week, so I mean that
- 15:12Speaker 2: was a blessing. But yeah, I try to stay around
- 15:15Speaker 2: the hotel and you know, try to lock in. But
- 15:19Speaker 2: I mean over the years, I will say, yeah, if
- 15:22Speaker 2: we got eight eight away games, mhmm, probably once probably
- 15:29Speaker 2: eight Probably one time that I go do something. But
- 15:32Speaker 2: it's hard to get me out the hotel room.
- 15:34Speaker 1: It's hard to get Trey out of tel road, all right.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Before we pitched to the interview with Bill's defensive end
- 15:40Speaker 1: Joey Bosa, I I have to ask Trey about Joey. Now.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Joey has been so reliable for the defensive line this
- 15:47Speaker 1: year and has stepped up big time amidst all the
- 15:51Speaker 1: injuries that that position group has had this season. How
- 15:54Speaker 1: has he elevated the elevated the play of the unit
- 15:56Speaker 1: as a whole man.
- 15:58Speaker 2: He's a guy that he can set the tongue like,
- 16:01Speaker 2: he can bend the edge. He played a run well,
- 16:04Speaker 2: he played the pass great. I mean like he's one
- 16:08Speaker 2: of those guys that you just know, like when you're
- 16:10Speaker 2: coming out that like the offense has to, you know,
- 16:13Speaker 2: game plan for him. They gotta chip him, they out
- 16:15Speaker 2: of double him, they gotta you know, so he frees
- 16:18Speaker 2: up the other guys. Like just having Joey Bosa on
- 16:21Speaker 2: our team, I mean it forces the offensive coordinator to
- 16:23Speaker 2: account for a guy like that because if you leaving
- 16:26Speaker 2: one on one, he can disrupt the whole game. And
- 16:29Speaker 2: as you can as you can tell, he has what
- 16:31Speaker 2: four or five forced fumbles, a ton of ton of sacks,
- 16:35Speaker 2: I mean, like a lot of tackles for lost and
- 16:38Speaker 2: just not even the players that he makes. Just have
- 16:41Speaker 2: him on our team, and you know, it's definitely something.
- 16:44Speaker 2: He's a piece that you know, offenses got to account for.
- 16:47Speaker 2: So whenever you have a guy like that, you know,
- 16:49Speaker 2: it helps us in the back end. The quarterback and
- 16:51Speaker 2: one gets the ball out, he don't want to get
- 16:53Speaker 2: hit by Joey Bosa and he brings a ton of energy.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Did you see him. I mean, like a couple of
- 16:58Speaker 2: weeks ago when he flecks the you know, he flexed,
- 17:03Speaker 2: he flecks. He had muscles that I didn't even know
- 17:07Speaker 2: people have. I feel like he the way he flexed
- 17:11Speaker 2: those muscles, he was gonna he was gonna do something,
- 17:13Speaker 2: do something for himself. Like. But but the guy, he
- 17:16Speaker 2: works extremely hard. I mean like he's he's a technician
- 17:20Speaker 2: with his with his past rush moves. I mean, you know,
- 17:22Speaker 2: that's why he's one of the best in the league.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Man like this guy for the charges over the years,
- 17:27Speaker 2: like the best.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah, he had seventy two sacks and one hundred and
- 17:31Speaker 1: seven games.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Dog, right, you talk. We talked about dogs last week.
- 17:36Speaker 2: He's a dog, I'm telling you. Man like this guy,
- 17:39Speaker 2: like he's a machine. Like the way he lifts, he
- 17:43Speaker 2: lifts weights, like he's very particular about the movements he
- 17:46Speaker 2: does does. I mean, like he have the weight lifting
- 17:50Speaker 2: shoes on. Most guys going there lifting their shoes, you know,
- 17:53Speaker 2: but he's in there in the flat toe the Olympic
- 17:56Speaker 2: lift shoes. Like he's doing everything strategically and that just
- 18:00Speaker 2: shows by his production on the field. So we're very
- 18:04Speaker 2: fortunate to have him because he's turned our defense up
- 18:07Speaker 2: a notch as you can see, like with his pressures,
- 18:10Speaker 2: like we're getting getting the turnover Max's pick on Mahomes.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Thank Joey, Joey, I really appreciate it. But he comes
- 18:21Speaker 2: to the sideline like this is a side note. After
- 18:24Speaker 2: Max got the pick, he comes to the side after
- 18:27Speaker 2: the series, he's like, who is that got that pig?
- 18:34Speaker 2: Tell me thank you? You welcome? He told Max, you
- 18:39Speaker 2: welcome Max, Like that's Joe, that's me trying to impersonated.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Who is that? Who is that that got the ball?
- 18:48Speaker 2: You welcome? Okay, Joe, we know you're a great player.
- 18:51Speaker 2: We know you got the pressure on the quarterback. Let
- 18:53Speaker 2: us celebrate the back game. We got the ball, We
- 18:56Speaker 2: got the ball, Joey. But love having Joy on the team.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Like Joe on the team. He's he's one of those
- 19:02Speaker 2: guys that you know can change the game. He's been
- 19:05Speaker 2: a game record for us for the first half of
- 19:07Speaker 2: the season. So expected much more from him too, because
- 19:12Speaker 2: that's what great great players do. Madd I mean, this
- 19:14Speaker 2: guy's he's a dog certified. He's a dog I approve
- 19:18Speaker 2: for sure.
- 19:18Speaker 1: He makes Buffalo's defense better. And I love that he's
- 19:22Speaker 1: a part of it. I love that he's been in
- 19:23Speaker 1: the mix for every single game too. All right, enjoy
- 19:27Speaker 1: the interview with Joey Bosa. We'll be back from work
- 19:30Speaker 1: after Joey, thanks for coming on inside the Charge to
- 19:33Speaker 1: talk about your season so far in Buffalo. Appreciate you
- 19:35Speaker 1: being on you. You're halfway through your first year with
- 19:39Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills. How's it going.
- 19:41Speaker 3: It's going, It's going, it's going fast. I mean, the
- 19:44Speaker 3: season's always fly by. Days are long, you know, but
- 19:51Speaker 3: the months and the years just fly by, it seems.
- 19:55Speaker 3: But it's obviously going really well. One a fair amount
- 20:02Speaker 3: of games so far, so just have to keep it going.
- 20:05Speaker 3: It's a it's a really long season. So I know
- 20:08Speaker 3: last week was a fun one, big big win for us,
- 20:11Speaker 3: but it's it's it's always about the next week.
- 20:14Speaker 1: One thing you've talked a lot about being here is
- 20:18Speaker 1: the fact that you're happy in Buffalo. What has you
- 20:21Speaker 1: smiling so much about this new destination for you?
- 20:24Speaker 3: It's just, you know, a fresh start for me, it's
- 20:27Speaker 3: been really enjoyable the whole process, just being around the guys,
- 20:32Speaker 3: getting to know everybody, Greg and AJ and you know
- 20:35Speaker 3: the whole group. I mean, I'd name them all, but
- 20:40Speaker 3: just been really enjoyable, not only in the D line,
- 20:42Speaker 3: you know, the whole the whole defense, whole offense. They've
- 20:45Speaker 3: been really welcoming of me, and you know, just easy
- 20:49Speaker 3: to get along with, easy to bond with, and it's
- 20:52Speaker 3: just been fun. You know, Winning games is fun, Playing
- 20:54Speaker 3: well is fun, and staying you know, relatively healthy is
- 20:58Speaker 3: enjoyable throughout the year so far. So just enjoying it,
- 21:02Speaker 3: not trying to get too high or low as the
- 21:04Speaker 3: season goes on, and just keep it rolling.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I go back to training camp when you talked about
- 21:10Speaker 1: the fact that I've built a close relationship with my
- 21:14Speaker 1: defensive line room more in three months than ever in
- 21:18Speaker 1: my career. What is it about the group of defensive
- 21:21Speaker 1: linemen that you get to be with that's allowed you
- 21:23Speaker 1: to get this tight in such a short amount of time.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I brought this up in another interview, but
- 21:31Speaker 3: I obviously meant no shade to anybody I've ever played with,
- 21:36Speaker 3: and I may have been exaggerating a little bit. You know,
- 21:38Speaker 3: I have made a lot of good friends throughout my time.
- 21:42Speaker 3: I just want to, you know, clear that up a
- 21:44Speaker 3: little bit, and I have a lot of good, really
- 21:46Speaker 3: good relationships with guys that I've played with over my
- 21:50Speaker 3: nine years. But I was just trying to, you know,
- 21:55Speaker 3: explain how fast the process has felt for me, and
- 22:00Speaker 3: you know, how close you've gotten in such a short
- 22:03Speaker 3: amount of time, and it still feels the same, you know,
- 22:07Speaker 3: every day, just getting closer, messing around in the in
- 22:10Speaker 3: the in D line room, joking in meetings, but also
- 22:15Speaker 3: you know, out there grinding on the field and winning games.
- 22:19Speaker 3: You know, this last week was really a lot of
- 22:21Speaker 3: fun with with all the guys. You know, you're out there,
- 22:24Speaker 3: that atmosphere is insane, really, you know, your bond really
- 22:29Speaker 3: kind of grows in moments like that where you're out
- 22:31Speaker 3: there executing together in tough times. But yeah, it's I
- 22:37Speaker 3: think maybe it could be partially that I've I came
- 22:41Speaker 3: into this opportunity trying to be as open as possible
- 22:46Speaker 3: and you know, making the most of my situation and
- 22:52Speaker 3: being you know, being as friends. I try to be
- 22:54Speaker 3: as friendly as I can, but maybe being even more
- 22:57Speaker 3: open to to growing relationships quickly and getting to know
- 23:01Speaker 3: guys because you know, I'm not I'm not just a
- 23:04Speaker 3: rookie here knowing that I have years ahead of me
- 23:08Speaker 3: and time. You know, my time is limited. I don't
- 23:11Speaker 3: know how long I'll be here, so I'm just trying to,
- 23:14Speaker 3: you know, take advantage of every moment I have. And
- 23:17Speaker 3: and you know it's not forced or anything. All these
- 23:21Speaker 3: guys have really gotten along with well, you know, whether
- 23:25Speaker 3: we're talking about silly things or TV shows, football, whatever
- 23:29Speaker 3: it is, we're able to keep it light, you know,
- 23:33Speaker 3: joke with each other, and you know, it's just it's
- 23:36Speaker 3: a good environment.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Every friend group has a glue guy, somebody who keeps
- 23:41Speaker 1: it all together. Who's the glue guy.
- 23:44Speaker 2: And the defensive glue guy. I don't know. I don't know.
- 23:49Speaker 3: If you could really, i'd probably say d Q because he's,
- 23:53Speaker 3: you know, the facilitator of our D line dinners and
- 23:56Speaker 3: he tries to make sure that we're doing things off
- 23:59Speaker 3: the field together. So it doesn't really feel like we
- 24:04Speaker 3: need need somebody to keep us together because you know,
- 24:08Speaker 3: guys want to want to spend time with each other
- 24:11Speaker 3: or you know, especially the young guys, they don't want
- 24:14Speaker 3: to go home and said said their apartment. They want
- 24:17Speaker 3: to get out with us and you know, go go
- 24:20Speaker 3: get dinner or do whatever, the party, the Halloween party
- 24:24Speaker 3: the other night. All these fun things that we're doing
- 24:26Speaker 3: as a team, I think is important for you know,
- 24:29Speaker 3: growth in that bond to get even tighter.
- 24:32Speaker 1: The defensive line room has some young guys in it.
- 24:34Speaker 1: You come to Buffalo with nine years of experience under
- 24:38Speaker 1: your belt, like seventy two sacks in one hundred and
- 24:41Speaker 1: seven games, I think was the stat. How do you
- 24:44Speaker 1: help those young players grow and become the best version
- 24:49Speaker 1: of themselves when you walk into a building like this.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Yeah, just I've always enjoyed kind of sharing my knowledge
- 24:55Speaker 3: of what I've learned over the years, whether it's pass
- 24:59Speaker 3: rush or just defensively or life or whatever it is,
- 25:03Speaker 3: because I've had I've had vets that I've been with
- 25:06Speaker 3: that have done the same for me, And it really
- 25:09Speaker 3: means a lot when you're getting like positive affirmations of
- 25:13Speaker 3: when you're doing well or making plays, or you know,
- 25:19Speaker 3: guys are getting kind of singled out and coaches are
- 25:24Speaker 3: harping on them and you kind of just give them
- 25:26Speaker 3: fist pump on the side. You're good talk about it
- 25:28Speaker 3: with them. So I've really I've always enjoyed trying to,
- 25:32Speaker 3: you know, help help the young guys grow. I understand
- 25:35Speaker 3: that where we don't all have the same game, but
- 25:38Speaker 3: if I can, you know, share some knowledge, share some
- 25:42Speaker 3: wisdom of technique or just the game in general. I
- 25:46Speaker 3: try to try to be as open as I can
- 25:48Speaker 3: and be approachable. Never be like, oh, no, I you
- 25:52Speaker 3: know I can't help you with this, or no, I
- 25:54Speaker 3: don't want to share share this information. I just try
- 25:57Speaker 3: to be approachable, try to be my self and just
- 26:02Speaker 3: try to be honest with the guys while while being
- 26:05Speaker 3: as uplifting as I can.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I guess your technique, power and relentless efforts at you
- 26:10Speaker 1: apart from other pass rushers in your tenth season, what's
- 26:13Speaker 1: allowed you to be so productive?
- 26:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I think, you know, trying to stay healthy is
- 26:19Speaker 3: really the main key. I think as long as I'm
- 26:22Speaker 3: healthy enough to do the things off the field, whether
- 26:25Speaker 3: that's you know, lifting, stretching, all these all parts of
- 26:30Speaker 3: my routine, that's important for me being a good player,
- 26:33Speaker 3: staying strong, staying healthy. I feel like I've been effective
- 26:38Speaker 3: for the most part when I could do those things.
- 26:40Speaker 3: So really just trying to stay consistent, stay as healthy
- 26:45Speaker 3: as I can, and just keep improving every week. I
- 26:49Speaker 3: think when I'm able to practice and I'm able to
- 26:52Speaker 3: play effectively in a game. It just keeps getting better
- 26:55Speaker 3: and better and you improve as the year goes on.
- 26:57Speaker 3: So just trying to stay as consistent as I can
- 27:01Speaker 3: off the field, on the field, and you know, do
- 27:05Speaker 3: everything I can to keep my strength, keep my speed
- 27:08Speaker 3: and all those things.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I mean, you have four forced fumbles through the first
- 27:12Speaker 1: half of the season. What's the mindset this year?
- 27:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I've always you know, I think early in
- 27:19Speaker 3: my career it was all just about trying to get
- 27:21Speaker 3: get home, get the sack. You haven't had many under
- 27:24Speaker 3: your belt, so you're not really worrying about the ball.
- 27:26Speaker 3: You're just trying to get the guy on the ground.
- 27:28Speaker 3: But as I got older, it was really a focus
- 27:31Speaker 3: on getting the ball out because you know, that's really
- 27:33Speaker 3: what changes games. That's what we're all focused on. You know,
- 27:37Speaker 3: I had a quick start Cup four. I've been you know,
- 27:39Speaker 3: slacking a little bit. Need to get back, need to
- 27:42Speaker 3: get the ball out a couple more times. But you know,
- 27:46Speaker 3: the main thing is winning, and I think the ball
- 27:50Speaker 3: turnovers and winning the turnover battle is a huge statistic
- 27:55Speaker 3: and whether you're winning or losing games, obviously it's not
- 27:58Speaker 3: always one hundred percent hunt one way or another, but
- 28:03Speaker 3: it's just for me. It's the most fun I could
- 28:05Speaker 3: have on the field is taking taking the ball from
- 28:08Speaker 3: the quarterback and give putting it in Josh's hands. So
- 28:12Speaker 3: it's fun for me. You know, it helps me and
- 28:15Speaker 3: it also helps our team, so it's it's all good stuff.
- 28:18Speaker 1: You mentioned helping out your quarterback, Josh Allen. Rarely does
- 28:21Speaker 1: a player have the honor of playing with two incredible quarterbacks,
- 28:26Speaker 1: and Justin Herbert and Josh Allen all Phil and Phil
- 28:31Speaker 1: to alter competitive great leaders. What have you learned from
- 28:36Speaker 1: playing from playing with quarterbacks like them?
- 28:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it's everything, you know what everybody talks about. It's
- 28:45Speaker 3: just he really is special. I think they have of
- 28:49Speaker 3: a lot of similarities, Justin and Josh, but they kind
- 28:52Speaker 3: of go about it in a different way and they
- 28:54Speaker 3: execute the things in different ways. But just knowing that
- 29:00Speaker 3: as long as you get the ball in their hand
- 29:01Speaker 3: that you're going to have a shot. I mean that
- 29:03Speaker 3: first first game of the year is proof of that.
- 29:06Speaker 3: But it's just fun. It's fun having an offense that
- 29:10Speaker 3: you know, it's it's they're enjoyable to watch. You're you're
- 29:14Speaker 3: always excited for him to go out there and see
- 29:16Speaker 3: what he's what kind of plays he's gonna make. And
- 29:19Speaker 3: I think it's just our goal as a defense to
- 29:22Speaker 3: be able to play team ball and feed each other,
- 29:26Speaker 3: you know, not play one sided football where you know,
- 29:31Speaker 3: some few drives they're running running down the field, scoring
- 29:36Speaker 3: on us, and the offense is scoring. We've got to
- 29:39Speaker 3: play complimentary football where where we get those three and outs,
- 29:42Speaker 3: we convert, we score, and you know, we run the
- 29:45Speaker 3: score up a little bit. And then that's where you know,
- 29:47Speaker 3: defense likes to be, where we could pin our ears
- 29:50Speaker 3: back a little bit and rush.
- 29:51Speaker 1: The Bill's defense is top ten in stack numbers right now.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Who's got the best sack dance on the defensive line?
- 30:00Speaker 3: I think I think we we like Greg's right now.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Obviously ed Ed is out, but we just just points
- 30:08Speaker 3: at the ground like this is my my stuff, clean version.
- 30:12Speaker 3: But we just we kind of laugh about it in
- 30:15Speaker 3: meetings and a few of us as have hit it
- 30:17Speaker 3: with them in the game. For me, I haven't really
- 30:21Speaker 3: had a lot of dances because some of my most
- 30:24Speaker 3: of my sacks this year have been really I've been
- 30:27Speaker 3: hyped up too much to choreograph my dance, so I've
- 30:30Speaker 3: been I pulled out a pulled out a little SpongeBob
- 30:35Speaker 3: reference last week. Yeah, which was pretty funny. It's the
- 30:39Speaker 3: anchor arms, if you know, you know, but I kind
- 30:44Speaker 3: of messed it up a little bit. But the adrenaline
- 30:46Speaker 3: had me had me going a little bit. No, I think.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I think we're all just having fun together, which is
- 30:52Speaker 3: what it's all about. And the best celebrations are when
- 30:57Speaker 3: you're just kind of lost in emotion and you're you're
- 30:59Speaker 3: all jumping around together.
- 31:01Speaker 1: You speak about being lost in emotion with your brothers
- 31:04Speaker 1: on the field and just the elation that you also
- 31:07Speaker 1: feel from grabbing big wins during the season. Take me
- 31:11Speaker 1: into what's it like to be in a moment like
- 31:15Speaker 1: that with with some of your best friends.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's great. I mean, it's what we do
- 31:20Speaker 3: it for. It's pretty much impossible to replicate if you haven't,
- 31:27Speaker 3: you know, been a part of something like this. I think,
- 31:29Speaker 3: you know, it's second to most most most guys say,
- 31:34Speaker 3: you know, the birth of their kid, So I mean
- 31:37Speaker 3: that's a pretty pretty good standard first to be right
- 31:43Speaker 3: up there with. So, you know, sometimes it just feels
- 31:46Speaker 3: like you're in a dream because the adrenaline and you're
- 31:52Speaker 3: all pumped up and the moment is pretty big and
- 31:56Speaker 3: you're just out there. Just there's so much training that
- 31:59Speaker 3: goes into it that you're not really thinking too much
- 32:02Speaker 3: a lot of the time, and it's just flowing and
- 32:05Speaker 3: it really is enjoyable. I mean, obviously football is really
- 32:09Speaker 3: hard and there's some downs to it as well, but
- 32:13Speaker 3: you know, those big moments really make up for all
- 32:16Speaker 3: the hardships that you have to kind of work through.
- 32:19Speaker 1: You've gone against so many different quarterbacks in the league
- 32:22Speaker 1: over your ten years in the NFL. When it comes
- 32:25Speaker 1: to pressuring the quarterback, what's number one in your mind?
- 32:30Speaker 3: Number one?
- 32:31Speaker 1: How do you mean how to do it?
- 32:35Speaker 3: You know, I think stopping the run is what we
- 32:38Speaker 3: talk about as a defense all the time. If you
- 32:42Speaker 3: can stop the run and get the ball into seventeens
- 32:45Speaker 3: hands and score a few touchdowns, you have a chance
- 32:49Speaker 3: to make the offense one dimensional and you have a
- 32:52Speaker 3: chance to you know, pass rush and the offense has
- 32:55Speaker 3: to hold the ball a little bit more. But I
- 32:57Speaker 3: think for me, making a play early, having a good
- 33:00Speaker 3: you know, good set early, or you know, taking a
- 33:03Speaker 3: shot or giving a shot early and you get into
- 33:06Speaker 3: a rhythm, you start hitting some moves and it's just
- 33:11Speaker 3: a rhythm thing. You know, you kind of get in
- 33:13Speaker 3: your your flow state.
- 33:15Speaker 2: As they say.
- 33:18Speaker 3: I don't know if you've ever seen the Disney movie Soul, don't.
- 33:21Speaker 3: I don't think they go to the like the special
- 33:26Speaker 3: realm when they're in the flow state, and it kind
- 33:29Speaker 3: of describes it pretty pretty well. But yeah, I think
- 33:35Speaker 3: it's not a one man game getting to the quarterback.
- 33:37Speaker 3: It's all about, you know, Russian coverage. Four guys, Russian
- 33:40Speaker 3: is one. So it really is the ultimate team team game.
- 33:44Speaker 3: You know, you're gonna get some clean wins every once
- 33:47Speaker 3: in a while where you just whip a guy and
- 33:49Speaker 3: get back there, but it doesn't happen too often. It
- 33:51Speaker 3: really is a team effort.
- 33:53Speaker 1: One more for you. JB Big Bear is your Instagram
- 33:57Speaker 1: handle opens all on the team. What's the story behind
- 34:02Speaker 1: that Instagram handle?
- 34:03Speaker 3: GV big Bear is just old. I don't even know
- 34:07Speaker 3: the inception of JB Big Bear. I think just a
- 34:10Speaker 3: buddy of mine in middle school even just called me
- 34:14Speaker 3: at one time, and then we went with my brother's
- 34:17Speaker 3: NB Smaller Bear, who isn't much smaller at all, but
- 34:21Speaker 3: at the time he was, so we stuck with that.
- 34:24Speaker 3: But uh yeah, I've my social media presence is at
- 34:29Speaker 3: an all time low right now, which I enjoy a lot.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Yeah, good for you at the point in your career. Yes,
- 34:35Speaker 1: we're not on it.
- 34:36Speaker 3: No thank you, no, thank you. I'll download it, I'll
- 34:39Speaker 3: look at it, and within two minutes I'll be like, oh,
- 34:41Speaker 3: this is why I don't have this on the phone.
- 34:43Speaker 3: So good handle though.
- 34:45Speaker 1: At least it's an incredible hand handle, Joey, Thanks so
- 34:48Speaker 1: much for taking the time talk a little bit about
- 34:50Speaker 1: your season so far and the story behind that handle.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, thanks for having me.
- 34:56Speaker 1: All right, train and I are back for more. It's
- 34:59Speaker 1: time to talk some football trade. You told us about
- 35:01Speaker 1: your antics last week and how you like to watch LSU.
- 35:05Speaker 1: You got your LSU shorts on, you got the shades drawn.
- 35:08Speaker 1: It's dark in the room. You're focus is on your team.
- 35:11Speaker 1: LSU played fourth rank to Alabama last week. Didn't go
- 35:15Speaker 1: in their favor twenty to nine. LSU scores only three
- 35:19Speaker 1: field goals. What was the deal in this game? Man?
- 35:22Speaker 2: That hurt Maddie like that hurt as a as a
- 35:25Speaker 2: as A as a fan, as a long as somebody
- 35:30Speaker 2: that put that purple and goal on like losing to Alabama.
- 35:34Speaker 2: That's just I know, like that's just that's the one.
- 35:37Speaker 2: But I'm I can't really talk. I was I was
- 35:39Speaker 2: a for in those games right there.
- 35:41Speaker 1: You didn't beat Alabama and you're older.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Oh for four, No.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Way, oh four oh for four, not four oh for foe,
- 35:50Speaker 1: Oh for foe.
- 35:51Speaker 2: I was oh for four. But ah, yeah, that was
- 35:54Speaker 2: a tough one. Like you said, twenty to nine, we
- 35:57Speaker 2: didn't get in the end zone that one time. We looked,
- 36:01Speaker 2: we looked at the stats earlier.
- 36:04Speaker 1: Ten penalties seventy five yards.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Alabama had two for twenty five. I think it was
- 36:10Speaker 2: a little home cooking going on. I think it might
- 36:14Speaker 2: have been a little home cooking going on.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Yeah, because it was at Alabama.
- 36:17Speaker 2: It was at Alabama.
- 36:18Speaker 1: That's a tough stadium to play in. It's rocking, it's loud,
- 36:22Speaker 1: it's LSU was also a very hard stadium to play.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I mean Death Valley at night, good night.
- 36:29Speaker 2: But I mean twenty to nine, I mean we had
- 36:32Speaker 2: a twelve week lost. Our coach, it's you know, the players,
- 36:36Speaker 2: you know, had to show resiliency. We had a bye
- 36:39Speaker 2: week two, we had two weeks to prepare we did.
- 36:42Speaker 2: I mean, Alabama, you know they're on the road right now.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I think what they lost their first one, right, lost
- 36:48Speaker 2: the first game, I think, and I believe they've been
- 36:51Speaker 2: on a road since so man twenty to nine though,
- 36:57Speaker 2: I mean it was seventeen to three year a halftime.
- 37:00Speaker 2: So we went in and made some adjustments.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Defensively, Okay, we did not too bad, not too bad.
- 37:05Speaker 2: We held up on defense for the most part. We
- 37:07Speaker 2: didn't get what we got one takeaway, but we gave
- 37:10Speaker 2: the ball away twice. It's hard to win. Was minus
- 37:18Speaker 2: one in the turnover margin. I mean, like I said, like,
- 37:22Speaker 2: it don't matter if it's Part one or middle school,
- 37:26Speaker 2: high school, college, NFL, Professional Arena League CF. You don't
- 37:31Speaker 2: win a turnover margin, you don't. You're getting the reds
- 37:34Speaker 2: on you don't score. Chances are you're not going to win.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I mean, in the NFL, is plus one turnover margin
- 37:43Speaker 2: you win seventy around seventy percent of the game. If
- 37:47Speaker 2: you just plus one, just plus one, but if you
- 37:50Speaker 2: plus two, you you win an eighty five percent of
- 37:53Speaker 2: the game.
- 37:53Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 37:54Speaker 2: So it's like, no matter the Xenos of the of
- 37:58Speaker 2: the of the players or the guys out there, it's
- 38:01Speaker 2: about the ball. Like the ball is the most important thing,
- 38:04Speaker 2: and we preciate that here, and that's been one of
- 38:08Speaker 2: the been the most main you know, determining factors of
- 38:11Speaker 2: us winning. Like Buffalo takes the ball away. You know,
- 38:15Speaker 2: we may give up some yards here and there, we
- 38:17Speaker 2: don't give up the exposive plays and we take the
- 38:20Speaker 2: ball away. So that's that's essentially the whole game, you know,
- 38:23Speaker 2: when you think about it, twenty to nine, three field goals.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Alabama had two field goals, two touchdown. Decide in fact
- 38:33Speaker 2: the ball they got the ball. I mean, they got
- 38:35Speaker 2: two turnovers. There was plus one in the turnover margin
- 38:38Speaker 2: they got. They scored two touchdowns. We didn't score any
- 38:42Speaker 2: I mean, if you can look at it however you
- 38:45Speaker 2: want to look at it. But when you for a
- 38:47Speaker 2: guy that I mean I was able to watch most
- 38:50Speaker 2: of the game because of meetings, I didn't get to
- 38:52Speaker 2: watch all of it. But when you look at it,
- 38:54Speaker 2: I mean that that what you know, that what jumped
- 38:57Speaker 2: out the penalties to the two giveaways and and we
- 39:00Speaker 2: didn't score.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yeah, not LSU's game. Hopefully next week, Trey, there's a
- 39:05Speaker 1: trend going on in college football this year, last year,
- 39:10Speaker 1: recently that you're not a fan of. We've got Trey's take.
- 39:14Speaker 1: What's your take on this trend? Take it away my college,
- 39:18Speaker 1: my college athlete?
- 39:19Speaker 2: What's going on with these pants? These pants going up?
- 39:25Speaker 2: And you gotta cut that out? We gotta cut that out.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Can y'all cut that out? So? Should I just keep going?
- 39:34Speaker 2: We got Rick, Yeah, we're gonna We're gonna keep that
- 39:36Speaker 2: in there.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Rick is in the background making things happen.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you can keep going. Okay, But it's about these pans. Man,
- 39:44Speaker 2: Like these guys are playing in the in the spandex
- 39:48Speaker 2: practice pans, like no knee pads. If if we did
- 39:52Speaker 2: that on our level, like that's that's five k fined,
- 39:55Speaker 2: that's five k man, like five K per offense.
- 40:00Speaker 1: And they come out, the checkers come out before the
- 40:02Speaker 1: game and they make sure.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, I mean you can kind of
- 40:06Speaker 2: in a city like Miami, you can get away with
- 40:08Speaker 2: it kinda you know, because of the hydrations, you know,
- 40:13Speaker 2: of the cramping situation, so they like they kind of
- 40:15Speaker 2: give you a leeway. You're coming from Buffalo. The heat
- 40:18Speaker 2: is it's crazy. It's a difference. You know, your socks
- 40:21Speaker 2: can come down like you can probably have you can
- 40:23Speaker 2: get away with the sock. But these these cottage guys,
- 40:26Speaker 2: like they don't even have the knee pads, like, and
- 40:28Speaker 2: they playing to play on Sundays. You're not coming. You're
- 40:32Speaker 2: not coming to play on Sundays.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Do you think it looks funny? Do you think it's
- 40:36Speaker 1: just you're gonna skin up your legs playing this way?
- 40:39Speaker 1: What is it?
- 40:40Speaker 2: I think it looks funny too. It looks funny, But
- 40:43Speaker 2: I know why they're doing it. They're doing it because
- 40:45Speaker 2: they think the less that you have on, the faster
- 40:48Speaker 2: you run. That's what I'm thinking. But like, no, I'm
- 40:52Speaker 2: looking at that. I see old lineman though, where you
- 40:54Speaker 2: going at the most? At the most I see Dion goo?
- 41:00Speaker 2: What five ten yards up the field? What you're doing?
- 41:04Speaker 2: Like I'm looking at the games, I'm like, I see
- 41:06Speaker 2: these offensive line has the have It's like it's nothing,
- 41:13Speaker 2: but why do you have the knee brace? Song? Though?
- 41:15Speaker 2: If you're not really trying to protect you leave they
- 41:18Speaker 2: have the spind dicks tights on with the knee brace
- 41:22Speaker 2: with no knee pads, like, explain that. But for the
- 41:26Speaker 2: old Lineman out there. You guys are wearing these things
- 41:29Speaker 2: like Dean Doc's best left talk of the league. I
- 41:33Speaker 2: don't see him going twenty yards up the field, Like
- 41:36Speaker 2: what are we doing? Like you're trying to get your
- 41:38Speaker 2: speed up or something.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I don't know, but somebody tell us what's going on?
- 41:43Speaker 2: Please, like hit us up and let us know, like
- 41:47Speaker 2: what's we got to get one of these guys on
- 41:49Speaker 2: the show and act I got.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I need a clear on your LSU guys.
- 41:53Speaker 2: I need to get in contact with something, yeah, because
- 41:55Speaker 2: like this that's really bothering me, like that these guys
- 41:59Speaker 2: really going out here like knees exposed, like like we
- 42:03Speaker 2: don't even McDermott like he usually don't really care about
- 42:08Speaker 2: like us with the practice pans. But I guarantee you
- 42:12Speaker 2: if he was to see somebody go.
- 42:13Speaker 1: In the game, can't see no knee caps with no with.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Nothing over those knees. Like he's not letting you go
- 42:20Speaker 2: out there. First of all, the NFL not gonna allow
- 42:22Speaker 2: you to go on the field. You're gonna get fine,
- 42:24Speaker 2: that's five thousand of our fence. And like it's not
- 42:28Speaker 2: gonna be a good day, like the people are gonna
- 42:30Speaker 2: be looking at the chops to seeing knees exposed like
- 42:32Speaker 2: they because you know they're trying to go away from
- 42:35Speaker 2: the chop blocks. But I believe, like if those knees
- 42:37Speaker 2: exposed like that, like it's not gonna be a good day.
- 42:40Speaker 2: But that's just something that I feel like these guys
- 42:42Speaker 2: need to I know it's a fashion thing and you
- 42:45Speaker 2: want to run fast, but it's not worth knees, man,
- 42:49Speaker 2: It's not worth the knees. It's not worth knees at all.
- 42:53Speaker 1: That is Tray's take of the week. College uniforms. What
- 42:57Speaker 1: is going on? Let us know, thanks for coming on again.
- 43:01Speaker 1: You appreciate it.
- 43:02Speaker 2: We'll be back next week.
- 43:03Speaker 1: We'll be back next week with a duve.
- 43:06Speaker 2: We need a Dub.
- 43:07Speaker 1: We need a Dub. I'm cheer for you. I believe
- 43:09Speaker 1: in you, guys. Big Dub's home game for one at
- 43:13Speaker 1: home this season. That's a pretty good record. Fans are
- 43:16Speaker 1: gonna be yelling and loud. Might have to go the
- 43:20Speaker 1: silent count.
- 43:22Speaker 2: They don't need. It's gonna be high marked. Everybody in
- 43:27Speaker 2: there is gonna be marked up high in high mark.
- 43:31Speaker 2: We ready, We're gonna be ready this week.
- 43:33Speaker 1: It's gonna be amazing. If you haven't yet, make sure
