- 0:04Learn the value of building a personal brand, finding the right mentors,
- 0:08and prioritizing lived experience over theory.
- 0:11Explore why internal growth is as vital as external success,
- 0:15and how aligning your vision with your actions can create meaningful results.
- 0:19When you exited your business, I noticed how fast you were able to build
- 0:35an infrastructure after support coaching mentoring, which I thought was interesting because
- 0:40a lot of guys do this, but a lot of guys have been doing it for like 10, 15 plus years.
- 0:46I think I even saw one of your Instagram videos about how when you started,
- 0:50it was like a couple of months ago. It was not long ago.
- 0:54It's ago, I had the idea.
- 0:55Yeah, I know. And I know you have like a really good circle of other people
- 0:59that you're in your network, and that's probably a good lesson as well.
- 1:01It had done this before and whatnot, probably learned some lessons from those guys as well.
- 1:05But you spun this up so quick.
- 1:08So what?
- 1:09What the fuck in under?
- 1:11No, but like in a good way, not in like a, not in like a,
- 1:15not in like it hasn't worked out. It's like it's worked on one.
- 1:17It's worked out exceptionally because I follow this now, and I follow what you're building,
- 1:20and I saw the, you know, we'll try and keep this evergreen as we can,
- 1:24but like I saw you just it last week in Miami, and like the caliber of people,
- 1:28because I know some of the guys that pay to go to these things, and they're not,
- 1:32they're not stupid people that are not that are coming out to this.
- 1:36So I mean, it's just impressive how quick you build this out.
- 1:38So I'm trying to understand how you built this business so quickly versus a lot of people
- 1:45that struggle starting something from scraps three months, and what you've achieved in three
- 1:49months is not normal. So there's a lot of lessons and experience there that allowed you to do this.
- 1:54But what do you think that was?
- 1:56Execution. A lot of people spend a lot of time frozen.
- 2:00Yeah, and spend a lot of time thinking about it.
- 2:03I get in there. I just start throwing punches.
- 2:06Like I'm going to learn Kung Fu in the middle of this fight.
- 2:09Like I'm going to learn, you know what I mean?
- 2:11And so I got the idea that this sort of happened.
- 2:13I was talking to my good friend, Wes Watson, and he was driving me crazy for two months.
- 2:19He was like, bro, you got to do coaching.
- 2:21You got to teach business.
- 2:22You got to teach entrepreneurship.
- 2:23This is your soul of genius.
- 2:25So many people benefit from this.
- 2:27I'm like, Wes, shut the fuck up.
- 2:28Look, I'm like, what am I an online coach?
- 2:31Like, what are you talking about?
- 2:32You know, and then I got like, I would be laying there thinking about it.
- 2:36I'd be like, you know what?
- 2:37Maybe he's right.
- 2:38Maybe it would be cool to build a community.
- 2:41And then I start to get this vision of like
- 2:44my entire journey from day one
- 2:47by myself to nine figure exit.
- 2:51And I'm like, what if I built something that was tailored to everything that would have been
- 2:56beneficial to me along this journey?
- 3:00Yeah.
- 3:01And then I got excited about it.
- 3:02And then I remember I called him back.
- 3:04I was like, all right, teach me how to do this.
- 3:06Yeah.
- 3:06And he told me what he does.
- 3:09And then I spun it to what I thought it would be.
- 3:14And then I just got on my Instagram story.
- 3:16I was like, hey, I'm going to take on a couple of people to coach them
- 3:20for business and entrepreneurship.
- 3:23And if you're interested and you followed me, just shoot me at DM.
- 3:26Yeah.
- 3:27And I had a guy that was helping me with sales in the next two days.
- 3:31We did like a hundred grand.
- 3:34You know, two feet.
- 3:34And that was the proof of concept.
- 3:36Yeah.
- 3:36It was that it was right then where I was like, okay, this could work.
- 3:39Were you building out your brand before that?
- 3:41You're building it up?
- 3:42Yeah.
- 3:42Yeah.
- 3:43Because no, no, there was nothing.
- 3:44Oh, no, I wasn't trying to monetize it at all.
- 3:47I was just building a personal brand and, you know, attention as a commodity.
- 3:50Yeah.
- 3:50I said, it's a reason I got this podcast.
- 3:52That's the only thing.
- 3:53It's why we do it, Pat.
- 3:55And then as soon as dad happened, I was like, all right,
- 3:57all in.
- 3:58And then we just set things up and just went, went for it.
- 4:02I think it's because, you know, when you say like,
- 4:04you had a nine figure exit, there's a lot of people to do this.
- 4:07They don't build businesses to that size.
- 4:09Yeah.
- 4:10So there's a there's a there's a ceiling on the advice you can get from somebody
- 4:13that's only achieved certain things.
- 4:14Yeah.
- 4:15Right.
- 4:15They've only dealt with so many problems.
- 4:16They haven't dealt with a nine figure exit to a private equity or a family out.
- 4:21Those are the things that not a lot of people deal with because it's a rarity.
- 4:24It's a beautiful thing to do, but not many people get to that level.
- 4:28So I think that's, you know, what I'm alluding to is more people that have done it before.
- 4:33Those are the people that should be teaching.
- 4:35There's a lot of bullshit.
- 4:36And in those moments of consideration in the beginning of like,
- 4:40should I do this?
- 4:41Should I not do this?
- 4:42I of course went on and I was like, well, who else is doing it?
- 4:45There's a lot in, but like, but a lot of it's bullshit.
- 4:48There's a lot of bullshit.
- 4:50Look at their stuff.
- 4:51And I'm like, what, what have you actually done?
- 4:53Yeah.
- 4:54And a lot of these coaches are just that.
- 4:56They're coaches like professional coaches, professional coaches.
- 4:59You know what I mean?
- 5:00It's like the business teacher at the college who's never actually operated a business
- 5:05and makes 60 grand a year.
- 5:06What the fuck am I going to learn from you?
- 5:08Yeah.
- 5:09You know, like you read it out of the book.
- 5:10You heard on a podcast that you regurgitating a lot of information.
- 5:14He's never lived it.
- 5:15It's like a lived experience.
- 5:17You don't have the resume homeboy.
- 5:18You know what I mean?
- 5:19You don't have the lived experience to qualify you to be this.
- 5:23And so for that reason, I was like, you know,
- 5:26it'll be a little fun to come in and disrupt the space a little bit.
- 5:29If you watch my content, sometimes I get a little froggy on there.
- 5:32That's not calling people.
- 5:33That's specifically what I'm like, come on, man.
- 5:36You know what I mean?
- 5:36Like, yeah, I know too many fix.
- 5:39There are a lot of face out there.
- 5:40So yeah, and I think that that's like when you,
- 5:43okay, let's just talk to people that are listening to this
- 5:45that are trying to find people to learn from.
- 5:48So you have a good group.
- 5:50How do you, how do you, as a professional,
- 5:53who's operated at really high levels?
- 5:55How do you sort of gauge whether or not you want to learn
- 5:58from somebody to take them on as a mentor?
- 6:00Like, how do you, what's your litmus test for your education inflow?
- 6:05In my coaching program?
- 6:06No, in your life.
- 6:07In your life.
- 6:07Like when you're looking to learn from somebody,
- 6:09oh, what I'm looking at.
- 6:10Yeah, yeah, if that's so like, I go for results.
- 6:12Yeah, I learn from people in specific niches
- 6:16on, do you have what I want?
- 6:17That's my question.
- 6:19Have you achieved the result that I'm looking to achieve
- 6:22and do you have what I want?
- 6:24Like, I'm a fitness guy.
- 6:26So I learn about fitness and I want to work out.
- 6:28And like, Wes Watson is jacked.
- 6:30He wants us this.
- 6:31He's for jacked.
- 6:32He said, yeah, I'm like, that's my guy.
- 6:34You know what I mean?
- 6:35So when I look at business, my business mentors today
- 6:38are billion dollar dudes.
- 6:41You know what I mean?
- 6:42I have a small handful of them that I sit with
- 6:45and spend a dinner on the Instagram and their older cats
- 6:47and nobody really knows those are the best kind.
- 6:49So that's guys, you know, and they're so out of touch.
- 6:51They don't know that they're in charge of a huge money.
- 6:53If that conversation, yeah, I get it for free.
- 6:56You know, but those, they've achieved the results.
- 7:00And that's what I think the guys,
- 7:02I don't care if you sign up for my shit or not.
- 7:05But just please, whatever it is that you're looking
- 7:08to get coached or mentored on, make sure
- 7:11that the person that you're listening to
- 7:13or that you sign up with actually
- 7:15has had that experience and had the results.
- 7:17Like you wouldn't go get a fucking fat personal trainer.
- 7:20No, you're not going to do that.
- 7:22You're like, you're a fat piece of shit.
- 7:23Well, like, why am I going to listen to you?
- 7:25It's the same thing in business, you know?
- 7:28It's the same or any area of life, right?
- 7:31It's too, I see.
- 7:31I think that social, social is great for a lot of things,
- 7:34but it allows a lot of people who are full of shit,
- 7:36but just good marketers to sell shit.
- 7:38The people that don't know any better.
- 7:39No, don't.
- 7:40Which is, I think that's horrible,
- 7:42but that's the reality.
- 7:43So I'm like, I'm trying to, you know,
- 7:45part of this is hopefully, I've interviewed a lot of people,
- 7:48but hopefully a lot of the people aren't genuine.
- 7:51But I tried my best.
- 7:53But the point is you find good people
- 7:54that have actually done it before,
- 7:55and then you like pull out the ideas from them.
- 7:58And that's really, I mean, that's how you learn.
- 8:00And it's not to be, it could be a mastermind,
- 8:01whatever could be a podcast.
- 8:03But I think it is, I love that.
- 8:05It's like you find somebody that's literally done the exact thing
- 8:08or as close as possible to what you're trying to accomplish.
- 8:12When you work with all these entrepreneurs,
- 8:14you said one of the main issues they have is basically
- 8:17removing themself as the linchpin
- 8:19and the key, the key man in the business.
- 8:22What are some other major things
- 8:24that some of these people are running into?
- 8:25Some big problems.
- 8:29The ones that you see repeat again and again and again.
- 8:33And it doesn't have to be business.
- 8:34Let's think about other things.
- 8:35It could be raising money.
- 8:36It could be having a good relationship
- 8:39because they're putting too much effort or energy in,
- 8:42like, that shit happens a lot too.
- 8:44Yeah, we're all crazy.
- 8:45Yeah, I know that back to the coach thing,
- 8:46like, you don't want relationship advice from me.
- 8:50You know what I mean?
- 8:51Like, I'll teach you how to blow your business up.
- 8:53But like, I haven't been married in a successful marriage
- 8:56for 10 years or something like that's the guy you want.
- 8:58And so, um, you know, the mistakes that we all make
- 9:04outside of key man, I don't know, you know,
- 9:08ignoring the personal development side of this.
- 9:11I think a lot of people are chasing,
- 9:14yeah, yeah, let's unpack it.
- 9:16I think a lot of people are chasing success
- 9:18in the wealth for the wrong reasons.
- 9:20And they think that the right amount of money,
- 9:22the right amount of material possessions,
- 9:24the right amount of status, attention,
- 9:27or whatever the achievement is,
- 9:30is going to fix a problem that they have
- 9:32that in all reality, it won't.
- 9:35You know, I think that a lot of people chase wealth
- 9:38and success to fill a hole in their spirit,
- 9:43whatever that means for them.
- 9:45And the mistake that I see happen over and over again
- 9:48is sometimes people catch it in their lifetime.
- 9:53And they get the money or they get the whatever it is
- 9:56that they thought would fix it and they're like,
- 9:58fuck, this isn't as cool as I thought it was.
- 10:03This isn't everything I made it out to be.
- 10:05And so a lot of people ignore the fundamental truth
- 10:12that our internal condition, our happiness,
- 10:15our satisfaction, our serenity,
- 10:17our peace, our wholeness,
- 10:20is not tied like the money can make you happy.
- 10:24You know, I'd rather be fucking rich than poor.
- 10:26Yeah.
- 10:26One of those guys, like I've been poor,
- 10:28shit homeless with my money for food
- 10:31and I've been fucking rich on my private jet
- 10:34flying to my yacht in the Bahamas.
- 10:36I much rather fucking the yacht in the Bahamas.
- 10:40But if you can't buy your way out of your responsibility
- 10:45to do the internal work,
- 10:47a lot of people get lost in this game,
- 10:49they get lost in this process and ignore and evade their responsibility
- 10:54to do the internal work that's necessary for all of us.
- 10:57No one can escape that.
