- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Right next to me is Brett Durbin.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Did you know that?
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: You didn't know that?
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: Good.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: You know that now.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: So You're only doing that because you call me Derek in the bus service, you know.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's right.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: I did call you Derek.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: That's okay, Derek.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: So hey, uh I see him a lot more than I see you.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: So uh 10 years ago, huh?
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, founder, CEO, Trash Mountain Project.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: For those of you uh who haven't, any of you been over to uh Dominican or any of the places overseas?
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: I saw a lot of hands over there in College Avenue.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Thanks.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Um so for those who don't know about Trash Mountain, tell us a little bit about what Trash Mountain I shirt there, what Trash Mountain uh Project is about.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we're uh we're a nonprofit that's based here in Topeka, and we work uh with children and families that live in trash-dunk communities, which is basically uh an urban sprawl that happens around landfills, uh, usually near big cities.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Um happens internationally.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: We don't really have this issue here necessarily, but uh we're currently working in five countries and twelve communities and uh do a lot of work with development, you know, working with education and nutrition and health, uh, really with just the centerpiece of that being that we're trying to really develop Christ-centered environments uh in these areas where the needs are being met, but then also the gospel is being met.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: You're doing a great job.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: And uh as someone who's been overseas and seeing it happen, it's really a great ministry.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Now, ten years, from many of those years, instead of knocking on our doors every week or every month for money and so forth, you have a special event in the fall, usually October, right?
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: And it's called Spoken.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: You can see it behind here.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So what what is that?
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, you do several things there.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Tell us about that.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we uh we have an annual event we call spoken, uh, and it's here in four weeks from today.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: Um but it's it's basically the one time of year we can bring as many people together as possible that are involved with us, but then also others that are wanting to learn about what we do, and we can share just the vision, what's happening, what's gone on over the last year, what where we're heading, uh, what we're planning on, and what the needs are.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: Uh but then also just sharing the story of of what God's doing in these areas.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: And so um I am excited this year, especially with TBCers, because we have uh Pablo and Elizabeth Urania, who are our leaders in the Dominican Republic, uh that lead the ministry that we partner with there, they're coming in as our guests uh for this event.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: Uh and a lot of you are involved up there uh have been since the start.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: TBC was really monumental enough being able to partner there uh originally about nine years ago.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: And uh they're coming in.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: I just got back from there.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: They're excited.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: Um, was actually down there uh to get to uh uh walk with a young lady that was uh really sick about nine years ago uh with a doctor.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Uh a lot of you guys prayed for her, and uh she uh got to graduate high school uh just last week and uh started college for uh healthy and she wants to be a doctor that works with thermal ill kids.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: So uh she's doing that, and we were down there and kind of pulling back some of the story, and there's just been really a cultural transition happening there in that community that is really advanced from anything we've seen.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: And so it's uh we're just wanting to share more about that.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: It's nice to go on these trips and see positive and see light, whereas usually you're just seeing a lot of dark.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: So all right.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: So I'm uh encouraging you in four weeks from tonight uh to go to Spoken, 6 p.m.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: I predict Patrick Mahomes will have taken the Chiefs to victory a couple of hours before that.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: And so uh, you know one thing I like about it, I get to see Christians from all over town, you know, that don't go to our church there.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I get to, you know, and so it's a really cool and and by the way, yeah, it's it's a fundraiser, but there's this uh I hear you have a matching matching gift thing going this year.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we were blessed last year to have a a donor that did a 50 percent match to anything that was given through spoke and so through like November.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: And uh we have a similar deal this year, but it's a group of donors that got together and they wanted to really focus on the long-term giving.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: And so basically uh they are matching anything that's given uh as a recurring gift.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: So if you're a new recurring donor, uh they're gonna match it 100 percent for a year.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: Uh and then if you're someone who, which we discussed this, you know, that's currently giving with us kind of our base already, uh anything you increase, they're gonna match it 200 percent.
- 4:28SPEAKER_02: And so uh it was really uh a huge deal that they brought this to us.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: And so it's awesome.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: So that is great.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Uh and we can get tickets and stuff.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: I thought I saw a table out in the welcome center or lobby or whatever, am I right?
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: We'll be able to answer any questions you have.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: We have tickets, tables, corporate sponsors, whatever uh you'd like to do, and we can answer any questions for you.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: And uh yeah, we'd love to talk to you.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: If you had somebody better looking than Tim Collins, you might have better business, but uh that's it's okay.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: No, I want yeah, you don't want to follow that up.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Give me that microphone.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Thanks, buddy.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Thanks, Brad.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: I want to call up a friend of mine from years ago and even now, Boaza, would you come up here?
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: I call him Boazza, but if you're on his mailing list, you know him as Boaz.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: And uh your wife, what do you call your wife?
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: I call my wife Ruth.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Ruth.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Boaz and Ruth.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: How cool is that.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: And uh and partly that's done because you work in a very interesting part of the world where people, uh, if they know your name and your address, you might be in trouble, right?
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's right.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: It's forbidden to be a Christian or to be a minister or to a missionary.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: So our mission suggests that we use a different name.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Just let me say this.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Boazza is my name.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: It's a secret.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: But now, just take a out of boazza became Boaz.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: And then So, how did Hafidah become Ruth?
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, that's right.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: I I came Boaz, and she said, What about me?
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: And I said, You are Ruth.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: So the first time I think I met him was in 1980.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: Uh we had a one of the longest-term uh time missionaries in our church named Isla Davis, a sweet little single woman, all of her life.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: She went over there, lived in the Arab part of a town called MacNez.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: And if you don't think you know about Morocco, you do.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Five major cities.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: You've heard of Casablanca.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Nod your head.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: You if you haven't seen the movie, go see it.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Tangier, you've heard of Tangier.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Please.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Marrakesh, Marrakesh, Marrakesh, pretty famous.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: You know of the snakes that, you know, they play their flute, so forth.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: And two other major cities, Rabat and Fez.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: So um I went over there to McNez, this little town where Isla was living, and started going over every year.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Got to know this guy because he'd come to Christ.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: Tell us.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: So, you didn't you grow up in Caza or something, Casablanca?
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: And tell us about that.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: You grew up.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Yes, I was born in Casablanca in Morocco of a Muslim family.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: I was a Muslim, I was sent to the Islamic school, I learned the Quran, I learned how to be a Muslim.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: I used to pray five times a day, I used to fast Ramadan and so on until the age of 17, when I was in contact with uh some shunaries who led me to the Lord.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Praise the Lord for that.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: And then you went to Beirut and got some training?
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: Yes, uh in the Bible?
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, I did.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: But before I went to Beirut, uh I went to military because my because my parents disarmed me.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: My mother and uncle and uh they said I am not a believer of Islam, I should leave the country.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: So I went to military and that helped me a lot.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: And after 18 months, God opened the door for me to go to Beirut, to a seminary, Bible seminary, and I thank God I did that, so I can serve him today in my country.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: So you have the most interesting ministry, and you're one of the reasons we don't see you here is you're one of the busiest, you and your wife, one of the busiest missionaries that we support.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Um, and it's not your ministry actually is headquartered where?
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: It's not in Morocco, it's it's across the water, past the Rock of Gibraltar, in Yes, uh we have a place in Malaga, Spain, the city of Malaga, just across from the Mediterranean, near the Gibraltar.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: And over there we are about a team of about 30 different missionaries, different nationalities.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: So my wife and I served there for the last 40 years, and we do Bible correspondence courses, we do radio, and lately we start doing uh TV and uh program for videos, and we use uh satellite channels, and God is bringing people through this ministry.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: So he's cutting edge, okay.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: You guys, you know, he's this guy knows the digital stuff, he does the radio, he does the TV, he does all of this uh Facebook.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: So I'm I really admire that because I still struggle, you know, with some of those things, some of those modern technological things, but the Lord has really used that in an amazing way in North Africa to bring Muslims to Christ.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: Am I right?
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: That is right.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: God is using today's technology.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: I just let me tell you that like 40 years ago when the Bible correspondence started from Spain, we used to do radio and people write to us from Morocco, from North Africa.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: And the letters take long to come and we send them Bible correspondence courses, take two or three months to respond, and then to go and see them and visit them on follow-up tribus take long.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: But now, with what's going on technology, we are giving our phone and we're giving what we call WhatsApp, which is a free call, so the Moroccan can call us free.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Um, not only that, when someone calls us, we say, Where are you living?
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: He said, I'm living in the city of Mukhnes, or Rabat, for example, or Casablanca.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: And we tell him tomorrow or after tomorrow someone will come and visit you instead of three months waiting.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: So because we have nationalism from Morocco that really do the follow-up business.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Praise the Lord, that's great.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: So anyway, so you put out these programs and you're in fact you but then you still travel.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Didn't you travel this summer to Morocco?
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Uh this will be your last I've kept you up here long enough.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: But tell us a little about because I was I loved reading the stories about you going around Morocco and seeing all these new Christians and so forth.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, one of my parts all these many years is just a follow-up.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: Follow-up means to go visit people, those who are interested, and introduce them to the local groups, local churches.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: So recently I just was in Morocco for about one month with my wife, and we had very good visits.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: We have seen many believers, pastors, leaders.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: We have a good fellowship with them, and we're maybe we ourselves want to encourage them, but we were encouraged too.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, thank you.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Well, thanks.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: It's great to see you again.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Well, let me see.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: Thank you to Tupica Bible Church for supporting us for 40 years.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: Thank you very much.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: You um, I know most of you are aware we have a thriving ministry to Jewish people, especially in Israel, but around the world with Jews for Jesus.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: But we really have a heart as well for Arab Muslims, and I love the fact that the Lord is working with both of these groups, which at times are at war with each other, but we're seeing massive amounts of both Muslims and Jewish people coming to Christ right now.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: It's one of the signs, I think, that the uh the Lord is returning soon.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: And another sign is that I'm actually gonna get through this message in 25 minutes.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: And it's gonna be great, because it's the second name of God in our series.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: If you're just visiting, we're doing a series on the names of God.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Last week we did this name right here.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Say it with me.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Elohim.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Elohim was the first name of God we did, and today we're doing the name Adonai.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: Say that with me.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Adonai.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Two very different names, but two of the three greatest names of God, most common names of God used in the Old Testament.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: These are both Hebrew words, and I want to tell you about them.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: But first I want to remind you the reason we're doing this series on the names of God this fall is that names matter.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: Names matter, your name matters to God, God's name matters to God, God's name should matter to you.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Number two, names reveal something.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: Names always reveal character and personality in the Bible.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: They reveal God's character and personality, so we're studying them.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: And number three, we learn from Psalm chapter 9, verse 10, that knowing the names of God helps us to trust in God.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Knowing the names of God helps us to depend on Him when all is falling flat around us.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Those who know your name, David said, trust in you.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: So that's why we're doing this series, right?
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: So we'll know God better, love God more, trust him, trust him better.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: Last week, the first and foremost fundamental name, Elohim.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Barab Barishit Elohim, the third word in the Bible, the Hebrew Bible, Elohim, very common in the Old Testament.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Secondly, the name Elohim really refers to God, the personal creator, the God who created the universe, the God who spun the stars into place, the God who created the entire universe, including you and me.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: All right?
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Today, a very different name, much more in a way, personal name, because it's not far off that we adore, but it's very close and it has a hold on us, and that is the name Adonai.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: And it's all about submission.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Today's going to be all about submission and authority.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: I ask you a question, do you believe in submission to authority?
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: And I know you say immediately, well, of course, I believe in submission to authority, especially people submitting to my authority.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: No.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Especially my kids submitting to my authority, I believe in submission to.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: So, but if I said to you, okay, um, who are your authorities?
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: And you said to me, Well, I have a boss.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Some of you, uh, if I said, Who's your authority?
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: You'd say, Well, I have school teachers over my, over me in my class, I have a headmaster, principal.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: And some of you would say, Well, I'm here at church and I have elders, I have, you know, leaders that God has put in authority, and I have their authority figures like the police and other things in the community.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Of course I believe in submitting to authority.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: And then if I were to ask you, however, when those authority figures say or do things that you think are stupid, do you uh still submit to them or do you turn to the person next to you and say, How stupid is that?
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Do you undermine your school teacher?
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: Do you undermine your principal?
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Do you undermine the authority figures that God has placed over you in your home, in your workplace, in the church, in the community?
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: And those are the four that are listed in the book of 1 Peter.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm reminded, for instance, of something that a well-known professor, university professor named um WW.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: What?
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Walter Williams.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: All I could think of was Woodrow Wilson.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: That wasn't going to work.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: I thought they're not going to believe me that that's Woodrow Wilson.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: This is Walter Williams, brilliant guy.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: And he was talking recently about Yale University, University of Missouri, and freedom of speech on college campuses.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And he says, you know, you ask people, yeah, students, do you believe in freedom of speech?
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: They said, of course I believe in freedom of speech.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: People say they believe in freedoms, but what they really mean is I believe in freedom so long as they don't threaten my worldview or so long as those people aren't going to come on campus and say anything I disagree with.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: And if they do, then no, I don't want them.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: I want to prohibit them, I want to take away their freedom to come.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: Well, in my view, that's the same thing as submission to authority.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: We can say all day long that we submit to authority, but if when authority says or does something that we think is repugnant or stupid, if then we undermine that, counteract that, then we need to ask ourselves, as I'm going to ask us this morning, do we really submit to authority?
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Now that's the word, Adonai, that has opened the door to this whole discussion of what theologians call lordship and what I'm calling submission to authority.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: This is an interesting word.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Like last words, Elohim started off as L, E L.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Adonai started off as A-D-O-N.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: In other words, it's a word used commonly in the ancient Near East by all kinds of people.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Adon was, just like L, to refer to any Lord or master.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: So you called him Lord, or you called him Sir, you called him master.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: That's what Adon means.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: For instance, we find this used a hundred times in the Old Testament, such as when Joseph's brothers came back from Egypt, not knowing they had just met their brother Joseph, because he looked so different, and they came back to report to their father, Jacob, these words.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: The man who is Lord, that is Adon, over the land of Egypt, that was their brother Joseph, spoke harshly to us and treated us as though we were spying on the land.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, so it's used as anybody who is a lord or master.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: For instance, Saul's chasing after David.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: David, he catches him without knowing it in Getty, and David squirrels away from him, and then as Saul comes out of the cave, David yells at him.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Saul recognized David's voice and asks, Is that your voice, my son David?
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: And David's response to the man who was trying to kill him, but who was God's authority over him was, It is my voice, my Lord, that is Adon and King, David said, 1 Samuel 26.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: So Adon is simply the basic word usually used of human beings like governors, presidents, kings, uh principals, shall we say, elders, whatever.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: An authority figure.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: By the way, in case some of you are into, you know, Adonis, you know, the most beautiful human, by the way, that's ever lived in Greek mythology, especially for you girls.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: So notice he's the Lord of beauty or the God of beauty, and that's part of his name, Adonis.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: But when you take the word and you add the sort of plural or rather intensive meaning, it primarily refers to God, used about 400 plus times in the Old Testament.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: And there it's capital L Lord, capital M master.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: And it's referring to God not as our all-powerful creator, but as our personal, as our Lord and Master.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: Now, I've received a couple of questions this last week.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: Would you help me with the names of God in the Old Testament?
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Sometimes they're capitalized, sometimes not.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: So here's a really quick, I'll go back to it again next week.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: If you find the name God in the Old Testament and it's a capital G with a but with a little O and a little D, that's the word we studied, that's the title we studied last week.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: Elohim.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: If you find the word Lord with a small O R D, that's the word we're looking at this week.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: That's the title Adonai.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: The word we'll look at next week, if you find the word in your Old Testament, L-O-R-D, all-caps or G-O-D-A-L-Caps, that's referring to the personal name of God Yahweh.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: That's the single most important name of God there is.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: Make sure you show up for that next week thousands of times.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: So, very important.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: So we're talking about, however, our Lord and master.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: And maybe uh the most significant, at least to me, other people take other texts, uh, text here is Psalm chapter 2.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: One of the most famous psalms in the Bible.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna look at the first six verses.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: It's all about uh our Lord being our Lord, and his son Jesus being our Lord.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: And it starts, this is so relevant.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: It's basically what the nations are going to be saying at the end of time, which is coming, but it bleeds back, you'll notice, into today.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: It leaks back in today.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: You'll see in the first three verses that the pagans, the non-Christians, the nations, right?
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: That's what nations mean.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: It means Gentiles who do not believe in God.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: Here's what they do, here's what they say, verses one through three.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Rhetorical question: why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: The picture is that non-Christians, especially powerful non-Christians, leaders and nations that do not believe in the God of the Bible, they angrily plot.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: They're meeting together, they're plotting a mutiny, they're doing it in vain because it's so silly.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: They have no chance of succeeding, so it's it's in vain.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: It's as stupid as taking the name of the Lord your God in vain, okay, in emptiness.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: But they're raging and they're plotting.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Why do they do that?
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: He explains, verse 2, the kings of the earth.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: And we could say also the powerful people in America, those who uh who are the elites in our country.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: The kings of the earth take their stand.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: That's a hostile stand.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: It's like a wrestling stand or something like that.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: And they take their stand.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: Not against, you know, they're not taking their stand against uh against the terrorists or uh bin Laden or something like that.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Believe it or not, they're taking their stand against the Lord God.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers conspire together, they're meeting together.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: We know in prophecy this is going to actually happen in the future.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: I think the relatively near future, but it's leaking back into today.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: You see this sort of agreement on television talk shows and everything else.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: It's fine today to go ahead and take your stand directly against the Lord, that is Adonai, and his anointed one, that would be Jesus.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Just 100 years ago, if you'd asked most university presidents in our country, if one of the purposes for their university was to advance the Lordship of God, the Creator, they would have said, of course.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: That's why we have these emblems, you know, over here at Washburn, okay, or whatever, they have the light that quote the Bible and so forth.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: It's universally acknowledged that God was king, God was creator, and the university was supposed to make the students, you know, more Christian or more godly.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: And no politician would run for office without stating something like that 100 years ago.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Today, a sitting politician would be out of, kicked out of office in a month if he said something like that out loud.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: No college president or even faculty member would say that one of the purposes that he had in his heart was to move people toward the Lordship of God.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: So that's why I say this is going to happen literally in the future, but it's leaking back into today when it's become extremely popular to say positive things about anything and everything except for the Lord and Christianity.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: Verse 3, here's what the nations or the non-believers or the secularists say.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Let's tear off their chains.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: What chains?
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: The chains of morality, the chains of ethics, the change, the chains that we feel bind us, and throw their ropes off of us.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: That's what you hear today, isn't it?
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Constantly.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Let's break this off.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: This is binding.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: You stay out of my bedroom, stay out of my house, stay out of my morality, and so forth.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: Now we have the response in verses four, five, and six.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: Three verses for the pagans, and now three verses for God.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: The one enthroned in heaven, the one sitting on the throne, we're talking about God now, laughs.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: The Lord, Adonai, ridicules them.
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: So we have all this commotion down here on earth, all this yelling and screaming and rage, and let's kind of kick them out.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: This is terrible stuff.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: But we have quietness in heaven.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: We have a calm and we actually have laughter, not giggling, no knock-knock jokes.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: What this is talking about is a scary kind of laughter.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: The laughter of someone who laughs at a puny little putian.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: Quick reference to Gulliver's travels there, of a tiny little people on earth raising their fists against him, and God simply laughs at that.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: He's in scorn.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Adonai ridicules them, verses 5 and 6, and then he speaks to them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Quote, I have installed already my king on Zion.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Who's that?
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: It's Lord Jesus.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: When he rose from the dead, we're told, and ascended to heaven, God installed him as king on the throne, but we know he will be installed again right in front of us in Jerusalem on the final day after Christ returns.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: In other words, it's it's already fate accomplished, it's already a done deal, and you guys are trying to keep it from happening.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: I laugh and laugh you in scorn.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: So we have here the clear statement that God is the Lord and master of the whole earth.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: My sermon divides basically into two parts.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: I'm in the first part where I'm talking about how even if you're here and you don't know Christ as your Savior, so glad you came.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: But I'm here to tell you that it's vitally important for no matter who you are, the first duty of every soul, as P.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: T.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: Forsyth said, is to find not its freedom but its master.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: But living in the home of the free, the home of the brave, and the land of the free, we think that if there's anything that binds us, if there's ever anything that says no to what we desire, that that's a terrible thing.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, we would tear the train off the train tracks and let it try to bounce through a field sometimes if we could.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: And God says, no, trains run better on tracks.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: I have given you the ideal, the best way possible to live.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: I've introduced you to my son who will save you from your sin, but you have the pagan world in many cases, laughing and, you know, mocking and just saying, get rid of God.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: Well, if you get rid of him, then you need to ask, who is my master?
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Is it I?
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: Am I my master?
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: No matter who you are, what you believe, whether you're Hindu, whether you're Muslim, whether you're a secularist, you need to decide who you are willing to serve.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: So let me, a couple more verses to show you it's vitally important that the rest of the world realize before it's too late that God is the Lord and master.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: Malachi 1.14, I am a great king, says Adonai of armies, and my name will be feared among the nations.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: It's going to happen.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: Psalm 97, the mountains melted like wax at the presence of Adonai of the whole earth, the Lord of the whole earth.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: God is the Lord of the whole earth, which is why Peter could stand up on Pentecost with thousands in Jerusalem, and say, Therefore, let all of the house of Israel, all of you Jewish people who've come here for Passover, actually Pentecost, and let all of the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: If this is in the Old Testament, it would be Adonai, counterpart in Greek is kurios, K-U-R-I-O-S.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: Alright?
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Which is a shocking thing to say because they live in a Roman world, and Kaiser Curios was one of the main phrases in the Roman world.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Kaiser means Caesar is Lord, and Peter and the early Christians were constantly saying he is not.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: Jesus is Lord.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: Alright?
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: So the whole world needs to recognize this.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: Philippians 2, 9 and 10, because one day everyone will realize that God's highly exalted him already and given Jesus the name that is above every name.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: What is that?
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Well, he got the name of Jesus at his birth.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: What name did he give him after he rose?
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: Well, we'll find out in just a minute.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: He gave him the name that's above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow in heaven and earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is what?
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: His Lord.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: That's the name, the special name that God has given him, and he will give him again when all of the nations surround Jerusalem, and we all bow the knee to him, we'll recognize that he is our true Lord and our true master, and that's true not only for those of us who've trusted him as our Savior and call him our Lord, but those who resist him.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: And it'll all be to the glory of God the Father.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: And on that day, on his robe and on his thigh, he'll have a name written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine making a movie named King of Kings today?
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: But that will actually come true one day, and I think one day soon.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Just to remind you again, we're talking about something quite different than last week.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Elohim, you worship.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: Adonai, you obey.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: So now I want to move and talk about you and me.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: I want to meddle.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: I want to embarrass us a little bit.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: I want to ask you.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: If you'll spend a little time this morning and this week asking yourself this question, do I, in my life, though I've trusted Jesus as my Savior, do I acknowledge Him as my Lord?
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: Am I committed to His Lordship?
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Because remember, if you're only 95% committed to His Lordship, you're 5% short.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: And the Lord God just agonizes, hoping we'll understand that this Adonai title is a title of authority.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you've got the authority, but also a title of submission on our side.
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: We need to not just say we submit, but we need to ask.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: Do I only submit when it's convenient for me?
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: Do I not submit when I don't like the command?
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: Lord Grantham and His servants.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: This is actually not Lord Grantham, but uh these are his servants right here.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: And just, are you anybody else aware of Downton Abbey?
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: What?
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: One of the greatest shows of all time on television in the movie, I think they had the premiere this this week, coming out in about 10 days.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: Actually, I remember a couple of years ago I urged everyone to go to the Noah movie.
- 31:45SPEAKER_00: That was a total catastrophe.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: It actually would be better for you to go see the Downton Abbey movie than the Noah movie I told you to go see.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: That's how bad that recommendation was.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: I still am being embarrassed by some of you who won't let me forget it.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: But listen, in 1930, no one would have been embarrassed to call their master Lord and to call themselves servants.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: Today, somehow that seems really terrible.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: But we don't mind going to the movies and seeing somebody else call somebody a Lord and serve him, right?
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: So this is just this was to drag the rest of you across the line who are having problems with this.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: I show you your favorite show and say, come on.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: So let me show you how much God cares about this.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: Listen to his heart as he says in Malachi 1.6.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: A son honors his father.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: A servant honors his Adonai, his master.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: So if I'm your father, where's the honor due me?
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: If I'm your master, Adonai, my your Adonai, where's the respect due me?
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: God says that to you, and he says that to me because of the fact that sometimes we don't obey and we don't submit.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: Am I the only one here who sometimes walks away from a conversation or a phone call and a couple minutes later go, what was I doing?
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: I can't believe I said what I said.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: I can't believe I gossiped that way, or I can't believe I exaggerated so they would think better of me.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm the only one.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: All right, I feel really, feel really embarrassed here.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: But, you know, and then I go, my tongue is just not as submitted to the lordship of Christ as it needs to be.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: No?
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: Okay, maybe for you it's your eyes or your billfold.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: I feel better.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: So Isaiah 6, 1.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: I saw the Lord.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: So notice, notice, notice how Isaiah, he doesn't put here, I saw Elohim.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: He doesn't say I saw Yahweh or I saw El, you know, one of the other names.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: It's I saw, I saw my Lord and Master.
- 33:50SPEAKER_00: I saw the Lord sitting on a throne.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: That's what Lord and masters do.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: They're like kings.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: They sit on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: This is why we honor Mary so much in that story, you know, a dozen verses long or whatever, where the angel Gabriel comes to her.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: She's a no-name.
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: She's in a no-name town of 150 people, maybe of Nazareth.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: And all of a sudden, can you imagine this angel shockingly, Gabriel, coming to tell you, you know, blessed are you, favored among women?
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: You'll notice this account.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's accidental.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: The first verse and the last verse have the word Lord in it.
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: It says the virgin's name was Mary.
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored, the Lord is with you.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: That's sort of a signal that whoever's about to talk to you has got a command for you that he wants you to submit to and to obey.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: And wow, the command he gives her is shocking and horrible at the same time is gonna lead to her embarrassment her whole life, as if she has been a loose woman, you know, who had a child out of wedlock.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: It's gonna basically ruin her life.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: Of course, it's gonna save her life at the same time, but he gives her this command and notice her response, the last line of the story, I am the Lord's servant, because that's what we say when we realize that we need to submit to the Lordship of Christ.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: May your word to me be fulfilled, and the angel left her.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: Paul saw back when he was Saul, before he met Paul.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Remember, he was he was he was trying to kill Christians on the road up north to Damascus in Syria?
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: He gets knocked off his pony, horse, mule, whatever by a light from heaven, and God speaks to him.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: And Saul's first question is, Who are you?
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: Lord, I realize you are my boss.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: You are my master, okay?
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: And in the next verse, trembling and astonished, he says, Lord, what do you want me to do?
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: Can you think of two better questions for your entire life?
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: This is the first question you need to ask in life.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: Who are you, Lord?
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: And you realize after a while, the Lord is the one who has saved you.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: The Lord is the one who has sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: The Lord is the one who you need to trust as your Savior, right?
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: Who are you, Lord?
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: And then once you're a believer, then you ask, Lord, what do you want me to do?
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: Because he's your master.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: And he's looking for servants who will obey him and be committed 100% to his Lordship.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: That's why Paul said a few years later, none of us lives to himself.
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: None of us dies to himself if we live.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: We live to the Lord.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: If we die, we die to the Lord.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: So whether we live or die, we belong to.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: It's the same Paul who Paul said, I beseech you, brothers, by the mercy of God should present your bodies a living sacrifice.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: Why does he ask for our bodies a living sacrifice?
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: Why does God want our bodies?
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: Because, of course, when he gets our body, he gets all of us.
- 37:07SPEAKER_00: He gets our hands, he gets our feet, he gets our eyes, he gets all of us.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: He wants all of us.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: He wants us.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: Because we're his.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: My kids were young.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: I was Adrian was four, and Mark was three, and Doug was a baby, and Melody was in the kitchen and come home from a hard day here at church, and Melody was cooking dinner, and I'm trying to read a good book in the living room.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: And the two kids, Angel and Mark are all over me.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: Daddy, won't you give me a drink?
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: So I get up and get her a drink.
- 37:42SPEAKER_00: Daddy, won't you read me a story?
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: No, I'll read to you after I finish my book.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: Just go away.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: Ten seconds later, Daddy, won't you play with me?
- 37:49SPEAKER_00: I said, wait.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: Finally, Angel scrubs hold in my leg and goes, Daddy, daddy, daddy.
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: I said, what?
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: What do you want?
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: And she says, I want you.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: I slapped her.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: No, I didn't.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: No, but I mean it's just, no, I realized.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: Sorry, it just came out.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: But you know, you realize, wow, I was profound.
- 38:11SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what that she wanted me.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: That was it.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: It wasn't the things I could do.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: And you know what God wants?
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: He wants you.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: He wants Y-O-U-U, meaning 100% of you.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want you holding back the living room or your house is his home, right?
- 38:27SPEAKER_00: And he doesn't want you locking one closet and giving him the rest of the house.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: He wants the whole thing.
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: And that's what it means when he says, I am Adonai.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: And that's why Jesus cried out to us and his disciples.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and then you don't do what I say?
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: Ouch.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: Hudson Taylor put it this way, founder of China Inland Mission.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: Christ is either Lord of all or he's not Lord at all.
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: So you know what you and I need to do.
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: We need to give a little thought today, this morning, this week.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: We need to give a little thought.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Lord, is there some area of my life that I'm withholding from you, or are you my Lord and master in all areas of my life?
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: The old Methodists had a wonderful covenant.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: This is very old.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: And I warn you, if you read this along with me, like I'm gonna ask you to do right now, you may want to stop reading part way through because you don't want to say something you don't mean to God.
- 39:31SPEAKER_00: But if you think you might be able to mean it, just start with me and drop off if it gets too demanding.
- 39:37SPEAKER_00: This is the old Methodist covenant for Christians.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: Say it with me, I am no longer my own, but thine.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt, put me to doing, put me to suffering, let me be employed by thee or laid aside by thee, exalted for thee, or brought low for thee.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: Let me be full, let me be empty.
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.
- 40:19SPEAKER_00: And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thou art mine and I am thine.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: So be it.
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: Now that's a covenant that links a servant with his or her Lord and Master.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: We're talking this morning about the Lordship of Christ.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: It's about submission and authority.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: He's the authority.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: And he asks this morning, are you willing to submit to me?
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: Are you willing to obey me?
- 40:54SPEAKER_00: The founder of this church was named Walter Wilson.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: He's a brilliant physician who lived in Kansas City.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: He founded also a school up there called uh Kansas City Bible College back then.
- 41:10SPEAKER_00: Today it's called Calvary Bible College.
- 41:14SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: And he came down here with another person and they founded Topeka Bible Church in 1939.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: He's written a lot of books.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: I've collected them.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: There are these little incredible books about how he, you know, his dealings with some of his patients and so forth with the Christian lessons.
- 41:30SPEAKER_00: He was a very beloved physician.
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: And Walter Wilson wrote a prayer one time, which I think expresses where this word Adonai takes us.
- 41:41SPEAKER_00: His prayer went like this.
- 41:42SPEAKER_00: Listen to it, and then uh I'm gonna pray and then we'll sing a song together about it.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: My Lord, I've mistreated you all my Christian life.
- 41:52SPEAKER_00: I've treated you like a servant.
- 41:55SPEAKER_00: When I wanted you, I called for you.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: When I was about to engage in some work, I beckoned you to come and help me perform my task.
- 42:03SPEAKER_00: I've kept you in the place of a servant.
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: I shall do so no more.
- 42:09SPEAKER_00: Just now, I give you this body of mine from my head to my feet, I give it to you.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: I give you my hands, my limbs, my eyes and lips, my brain.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: All that I am within and without, I hand over to you for you to live in it the life that you please.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: You may send this body to Africa or lay it on a bed with cancer.
- 42:34SPEAKER_00: It is your body from this moment on.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: Help yourself to it.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: Thank you, my Lord, for taking me.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: We now belong to each other.
- 42:48SPEAKER_00: The Lordship of Christ.
- 42:51SPEAKER_00: He is Lord, He is Master, He is Adonai.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: Let's pray.
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: We do submit to you this morning, Lord, recognizing that you are our Adonai.
- 43:08SPEAKER_00: We ask that you would search, put the searchlight in our lives and highlight any areas that we have reserved and kept back from your ownership, from your lordship, and from your mastership, so that we would submit those to you.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: In Jesus' name we pray.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: Amen.
