THE AMERICAN SHERLOCK HOLMES
In the biography AMERICAN SHERLOCK, journalism professor Kate Winkler Dawson tells the story of Edward Oscar Heinrich, one of America's greatest forensic scientists. In the book, Dawson features seven criminal cases Heinrich worked on between 1921 and 1933. Some demonstrate his brilliance as a criminal scene investigator, and others his weaknesses. Kate Winkler Dawson is an associate professor of practice in the School of Journalism at The University of Texas at Austin and has nearly 25 years of television news experience.
