Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Here's your host alex garrett.
- 0:07Speaker 2: All right well after my little rant on election day
- 0:11Speaker 2: there is some sports to talk about and on my
- 0:13Speaker 2: line right now is mr lou terminello back on terminello's
- 0:16Speaker 2: take louis how are you.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Alex garrett i am doing fine how are you thank
- 0:23Speaker 1: you for having me.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Well, we're on the verge of history with the Brewers,
- 0:26Speaker 2: but we're also on the verge of something very interesting
- 0:29Speaker 2: happening in New York. Even though it's in Dallas, the
- 0:32Speaker 2: Tri-Cit area is going to see Hellebuck, Connor Hellebuck, in
- 0:37Speaker 2: goal tonight for the Devils. Now, we had thought he'd
- 0:40Speaker 2: be shopped around. Is the Devils a surprise landing for you?
- 0:44Speaker 2: Did you think he'd land there?
- 0:45Speaker 1: I knew they were one of the teams that were
- 0:49Speaker 1: inquiring because, let's face it, the Devils have a major...
- 0:53Speaker 1: major goaltending issue, and that had to be rectified while
- 0:58Speaker 1: they have this core of young talent together. And I
- 1:05Speaker 1: think this has a lot of far-reaching ramifications, not only
- 1:10Speaker 1: for now, and I don't think the Devils gave up
- 1:14Speaker 1: a lot. You know, they gave up Dawson Mercer.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I liked him.
- 1:19Speaker 1: You know, Nico Dawes. He was a— I don't know how
- 1:22Speaker 1: good a goaltender he's going to be. You know, and
- 1:26Speaker 1: they gave up their first-round draft pick, Alex Command, who
- 1:30Speaker 1: was drafted number 12 last year. So we'll have to
- 1:33Speaker 1: wait and see on that. But this is a win
- 1:37Speaker 1: for the Devils. They want to— obviously, get deep into
- 1:45Speaker 1: the playoffs. They want to make the playoffs first of all.
- 1:47Speaker 1: They want to get deep into the playoffs. Alex, they've
- 1:49Speaker 1: won one playoff series since they went to the finals
- 1:53Speaker 1: against Los Angeles Kings. And that was 12 years ago.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So they need to do something because these guys, you know,
- 2:08Speaker 1: before you know it, they use. And then Nico Heischer.
- 2:13Speaker 1: You know, you start to put some... You lose thread
- 2:17Speaker 1: on those tires, and the time is now. And I
- 2:20Speaker 1: also think... I don't think the Devils are done. I mean,
- 2:24Speaker 1: I think they might be involved in maybe Dylan Larkin, maybe.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I mean, they would have to really manipulate the cap
- 2:34Speaker 1: to get him. They would have to make some trades there. And,
- 2:37Speaker 1: of course, the magical Quinn Hughes, when he becomes available...
- 2:42Speaker 1: at the end of this year as a free agent.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I think the Devils are going to do everything they can.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I think Sonny Mehta, their new general manager, is going
- 2:50Speaker 1: to do everything he can. He's going to move heaven
- 2:53Speaker 1: and earth to try to get the three Utes boys together.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Well, what's the latest on that? Because I know Quinn
- 2:58Speaker 2: was actually teasing a contract extension with Minnesota. What are
- 3:02Speaker 2: you hearing?
- 3:02Speaker 1: I would be surprised if he signed with Minnesota. I
- 3:09Speaker 1: could see Minnesota trading him at the deadline to another
- 3:13Speaker 1: team if they can't sign him. And if they don't
- 3:19Speaker 1: sign him and they trade him at the deadline, and
- 3:22Speaker 1: it won't be to the Devils because then the Devils
- 3:25Speaker 1: can get him at the end of the season just
- 3:28Speaker 1: for money and don't have to give up any assets. Again,
- 3:35Speaker 1: I have no inside information whatsoever. I really believe that
- 3:40Speaker 1: he's going to be a devil next year.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Oh, that would be unbelievable. And you know what? I mean,
- 3:45Speaker 2: it's already a gold standard team with Hellebuck joining. He's
- 3:48Speaker 2: a gold medal winning goalie. And, of course, Jack scoring
- 3:53Speaker 2: the game winner. But Quinn had a role in that
- 3:55Speaker 2: whole Team USA last year. So it'll be interesting.
- 3:59Speaker 1: He scored the goal in overtime in the quarterfinals against Sweden. So... Again,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I would think it's a pretty good chance that, I
- 4:10Speaker 1: would say, I'm going to say more than 85% chance
- 4:13Speaker 1: that Quinn Hughes is going to be on the Devils.
- 4:16Speaker 1: He may not end the season as a North Star.
- 4:20Speaker 2: As a member of the Wild, but yes. I mean,
- 4:24Speaker 2: a member of the Wild, yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I'm going back 25 years.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I'm going back 30 years. Hey, you know what? The
- 4:29Speaker 2: Brewers are going back 44 years, so, you know.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Ironically. He's going to be playing the Dallas Stars, who
- 4:36Speaker 1: used to be the Minnesota North Stars, tonight.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Maybe that's why it was on your mind.
- 4:42Speaker 1: So we'll see how he plays tonight against a very
- 4:46Speaker 1: good team, a very quick team.
- 4:48Speaker 2: All right. And then let's go to the Garden real
- 4:51Speaker 2: fast because they lost last night to the Kings. Look,
- 4:54Speaker 2: I think they're 7-6-1 or something to that effect. It's
- 4:58Speaker 2: been a better start than I expected without Igor and
- 5:01Speaker 2: Garand Holden. But I don't know. Should we criticize Mike
- 5:04Speaker 2: Sullivan for putting a veteran goalie in Ramir in one
- 5:07Speaker 2: and then taking him out for Garand?
- 5:09Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 5:09Speaker 2: That move didn't make sense to me. What did you
- 5:11Speaker 2: make of that?
- 5:12Speaker 1: Well, he played the first— James Ryan played the first period
- 5:16Speaker 1: last night, and he did look rusty. Now, the Rangers
- 5:20Speaker 1: announced that he has some kind of upper body injury today.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So I don't know that's why they pulled him out.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I assume that's why they pulled him out at the
- 5:27Speaker 1: end of the first period last night. The Rangers have
- 5:30Speaker 1: a goaltending issue with Shusterkin being injured. I mean, he's
- 5:34Speaker 1: their best player, and he's a difference maker. And Garanta's
- 5:40Speaker 1: done fine. I still don't know, and we said this
- 5:43Speaker 1: on one of the previous shows, I can't believe how
- 5:46Speaker 1: he got through waivers without being claimed. Right.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Um.
- 5:53Speaker 1: And Copa Sola will come back. He's a competent goalie.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I think they anticipate him back around November 7th or so. Um...
- 6:02Speaker 1: He's not Chesterkin. They're gonna have to piece it together.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I don't know if the Rangers will look elsewhere to
- 6:10Speaker 1: make a trade to get another goalie.
- 6:12Speaker 2: But again, um....
- 6:15Speaker 1: Then you have, you know, because Sesterkin's going to come
- 6:18Speaker 1: back next year.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So is it a short-term guy?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Is he going to take a guy on with a
- 6:22Speaker 1: lot of term? I don't know. I mean, they're not
- 6:26Speaker 1: going to, I don't think the Rangers would go after
- 6:28Speaker 1: a Biddington.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Maybe they would.
- 6:33Speaker 1: But that injury was really tough for the Rangers. That
- 6:37Speaker 1: was very unfortunate for the Rangers, you know. And he
- 6:43Speaker 1: was their best player.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Well, that's why 7-6-1 is still very impressive based on
- 6:50Speaker 2: what's going on. So, you know, we'll see. And the
- 6:52Speaker 2: league is obviously a lot— it' s just a tough league. So
- 6:56Speaker 2: we'll have to see. All right, Louie. We're going to— again,
- 7:00Speaker 2: we're going to get into the Brewers. But tonight, tonight,
- 7:04Speaker 2: the other Garden residents, the Knicks, are literally trying for
- 7:08Speaker 2: their first win tonight. And I've been saying it could
- 7:11Speaker 2: be the championship jigs or their sub-pressure. I don't know
- 7:14Speaker 2: what's going on. They don't look— we were there on Sunday night.
- 7:17Speaker 2: They don't look as gelling yet. Maybe they missed Mitchell
- 7:21Speaker 2: Robinson early on. I don't know what the— but they're not
- 7:26Speaker 2: cohesive at the moment. I don't know if you're seeing
- 7:28Speaker 2: the same thing I am. They just don't look cohesive
- 7:30Speaker 2: right now.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Well, a couple things. It's not Mitchell Robinson because he
- 7:34Speaker 1: basically played, what does he play, like 45, 50 games
- 7:36Speaker 1: a year?
- 7:37Speaker 2: So it's not him.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They're not cohesive at all. uh, right now, I think again,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and we talked about this last week, I think they
- 7:46Speaker 1: need to put, Oh, when you talked about, uh, Mike
- 7:49Speaker 1: Brown playing, playing guys in the preseason long minutes. Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I think he was trying to get his point across
- 7:58Speaker 1: and I don't think he got it across yet. Um,
- 8:02Speaker 1: last year is last year. No more Saturday Night Live.
- 8:08Speaker 1: No more Law & Order SUV. I guess Adinobi was
- 8:13Speaker 1: on an episode. No more sitting in front row at.
- 8:21Speaker 2: And by the way, they face the Sixers, who they
- 8:23Speaker 2: just lost to. They face them later in the week.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Their schedule's not easy. I mean, for defending champs, they're
- 8:29Speaker 2: not acting like it right now, firstly. Secondly... They really
- 8:32Speaker 2: have to prove that they are going to maintain. And
- 8:36Speaker 2: they're not doing that right now. And now you've got
- 8:37Speaker 2: to face the Pistons, who, if I'm not mistaken, you
- 8:40Speaker 2: lost all five to last year, I think, if I'm
- 8:42Speaker 2: not mistaken. I mean, it was a struggle against them
- 8:44Speaker 2: last year. Now you've got to face them this year.
- 8:46Speaker 2: A championship doesn't take away from the fact that this
- 8:49Speaker 2: league got tougher, Louie. Absolutely, it did.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Now, there's been some major injuries already in the league,
- 8:57Speaker 1: which is just mind-boggling to me. But we can.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Talk about that. Oh, that leg injury, J-Dub, that horrible, horrible.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I mean, if you see video of that, his leg
- 9:08Speaker 2: just goes out of the socket. It was just awful.
- 9:10Speaker 2: It was awful. Gruesome.
- 9:15Speaker 1: You know, but the Knicks will be all right. The
- 9:18Speaker 1: Knicks will be all right. Now, does Josh Hart cat
- 9:25Speaker 1: issues with their contracts?
- 9:27Speaker 2: Well, look, and I think that was stupid for the
- 9:29Speaker 2: Knicks to even bring up before the season started. We're
- 9:31Speaker 2: not talking contracts yet. Like, I don't know. You just
- 9:34Speaker 2: leave all that in the boardroom. You don't put it
- 9:37Speaker 2: in the papers because then it becomes a storyline. I
- 9:40Speaker 2: don't know. I got a little rift at that because,
- 9:43Speaker 2: all right, so Cat's talking about something. But actually, Cat
- 9:46Speaker 2: was very humble. He said, I just want to do
- 9:47Speaker 2: what's best for the team. I think he wants to
- 9:49Speaker 2: keep the team together as long as they can. That's
- 9:52Speaker 2: the vibe I'm getting from Cat.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:55Speaker 2: After he first said he wanted more money, I think
- 9:57Speaker 2: is what he also said, but you know, it's just.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Just alex i think the knicks are going to be
- 10:02Speaker 1: the knicks will be fine they also went public today
- 10:05Speaker 1: a little bit of a championship hangover but i think
- 10:08Speaker 1: they'll be fine i.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Do gotta say the banner looks pretty nice in the
- 10:12Speaker 2: rafters of the garden and you know.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if they're going to win
- 10:17Speaker 1: a championship again this year. They're going to go back-to-back,
- 10:20Speaker 1: which would be incredible. But I think they'll be fine.
- 10:25Speaker 1: You know, they'll go on the streak. But you'll know
- 10:29Speaker 1: during the season.
- 10:32Speaker 2: And we also know they're typically a slow start team
- 10:34Speaker 2: until Christmas Day. Once Christmas Day hits, then they really
- 10:36Speaker 2: hit their stride, it seems like.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Well, like I said, you'll know if they're dialed in
- 10:41Speaker 1: for another long playoff run. So, you know, we'll have
- 10:48Speaker 1: to wait and see. So far, Brunson hasn't shot the
- 10:50Speaker 1: ball well.
- 10:50Speaker 2: We know he's going to shoot.
- 10:51Speaker 1: The ball better. So, you know, I wouldn't overreact and panic.
- 10:57Speaker 1: All right.
- 10:58Speaker 2: So we got some breaking news in baseball because that's
- 11:00Speaker 2: also happening tonight. Game four of a possible sweep. Look,
- 11:05Speaker 2: the Brewers just look unstoppable. And I thought the series
- 11:08Speaker 2: was going to be a little more even. I had
- 11:09Speaker 2: thought seven. But, you know, they just come in looking dominant.
- 11:13Speaker 2: The Rays, Freddy Peralta. As Ryan Pagano said, kind of
- 11:17Speaker 2: did what he did at Citi Field, which was meltdown
- 11:20Speaker 2: and the bullpen didn't help his case. So that's happened
- 11:23Speaker 2: last night. But I see. They're going Dustin May, which
- 11:27Speaker 2: sets up for a possible Miz World Series clincher if
- 11:31Speaker 2: they lose tonight. I don't know. I would have thrown
- 11:33Speaker 2: Miz out there tonight and just said, let's win it tonight.
- 11:36Speaker 2: That's just my theory, though.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Yeah, well, again, they're protecting Mizorowski. You know, again, the
- 11:43Speaker 1: guy can't go– when is this guy going to go
- 11:45Speaker 1: more than five innings? Yeah, I'd like to see him pitch,
- 11:48Speaker 1: but they'll hold him.
- 11:51Speaker 2: The kid pops 100 miles an hour every pitch. I
- 11:54Speaker 2: don't know how he does that either.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I know. There's no doubt about it. The guy is incredible.
- 12:01Speaker 1: The Brewers are the best team in baseball. Their defense
- 12:06Speaker 1: is fantastic. They have a terrific lineup. Their bullpen is
- 12:12Speaker 1: lights out. And Alex, last night we saw something since
- 12:19Speaker 1: they went to the replay era, since we're in the
- 12:23Speaker 1: replay era now. Last night was the first time in
- 12:27Speaker 1: a huge game where we saw the turning of a
- 12:33Speaker 1: call at second base change the whole game. It was
- 12:37Speaker 1: only 2-0, and Caminero made a terrific play in the
- 12:40Speaker 1: hole and threw to second, and Yelich was called out.
- 12:44Speaker 1: But the Brewers correctly challenged. They won the challenge. So
- 12:49Speaker 1: instead of 2-0 and the inning over, it was bases loaded.
- 12:54Speaker 1: And the Milwaukee Brewers got seven straight hits, which produced
- 12:57Speaker 1: eight runs. And by the time that inning was over, five, six,
- 13:02Speaker 1: seven years ago, that inning would have been over 2-0
- 13:03Speaker 1: because there was no replay.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Now it's 10-0 and the game is over.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I mean, that and the Brewers capitalize on that. But, yeah,
- 13:13Speaker 2: that's true. And I saw that. But, you know, a
- 13:15Speaker 2: guy who's had a redemptive postseason to me, and you
- 13:17Speaker 2: know my frustration with him last year, not wearing it.
- 13:20Speaker 2: As they say, uh, Bryce Terang, who dodged the hit
- 13:24Speaker 2: by pitch last year against the Dodgers. He had a
- 13:26Speaker 2: redemptive to me. Well, but he doesn't have an incredible,
- 13:31Speaker 2: he's just had an incredible year.
- 13:32Speaker 1: They got swept last year. So the Dodgers swept them.
- 13:35Speaker 2: So, uh, um, And then Yellich. That's the kid I'm
- 13:40Speaker 2: really happy for, Yellich, because he's the first.
- 13:42Speaker 1: He's the captain. He's done that. You know, he's had
- 13:44Speaker 1: back issues. Yeah, and I'm happy for them. And Alex,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I have no skin in the game who wins, Milwaukee
- 13:49Speaker 1: or Tampa Bay. But you know why I'm happy? It
- 13:52Speaker 1: looks like Milwaukee's going to win this series. Yes, I know.
- 13:56Speaker 1: They haven't won the fourth game yet because Milwaukee's been
- 13:59Speaker 1: a great baseball town all my life. They've been– whether
- 14:05Speaker 1: the Braves were there or when the Brewers came there
- 14:07Speaker 1: after their first year in Seattle in 1969 as the
- 14:10Speaker 1: Seattle Pilots. That's a great baseball town. Tampa is not
- 14:14Speaker 1: a great baseball town. And, yes, I admire the Tampa
- 14:17Speaker 1: Bay Devils Rays organization, but this one– it's not only
- 14:22Speaker 1: great for the Milwaukee franchise, it's great for the Brewer
- 14:25Speaker 1: fans in Milwaukee and throughout Wisconsin.
- 14:28Speaker 2: And I'm sorry, just having that in that dome, it
- 14:30Speaker 2: just feels weird because Milwaukee's stadium is state-of-the-art as far
- 14:35Speaker 2: as I could tell. Tropicana just isn't nice to her.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I just can't.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Well, again, that's why they're going to have a new
- 14:42Speaker 1: stadium in 2029. And it's going to be on the
- 14:44Speaker 1: Tampa side of the Bay. It's Tampa side of the Bay.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And I just hope that it helps spur the Rays
- 14:55Speaker 1: into having more passionate fans. I mean, I heard on
- 14:59Speaker 1: Series XM today, some guy took his daughters down from
- 15:04Speaker 1: Milwaukee to the game last night. He flew down and
- 15:07Speaker 1: he flew back to Milwaukee today. The fact that tickets
- 15:10Speaker 1: were available for people from Milwaukee to come down there
- 15:14Speaker 1: is ridiculous. That's the reason I'm glad Milwaukee looks like
- 15:18Speaker 1: they're going to win.
- 15:19Speaker 2: For you, Kurt.
- 15:20Speaker 1: All right.
- 15:22Speaker 2: And for Euchre. All right, one more thing I got
- 15:24Speaker 2: to say on this baseball. If you look at the trend,
- 15:29Speaker 2: NL Central has won in 06 every 10 years. So
- 15:34Speaker 2: 06 was the Cardinals, 16 was the Cubs, and now
- 15:39Speaker 2: most likely 26 is going to be the Brewers. So
- 15:41Speaker 2: there's a little trend for you every 10 years as
- 15:43Speaker 2: an NL Central team. Of course, 10 years ago was
- 15:46Speaker 2: even more. Look, the Brewers winning their first is historic,
- 15:50Speaker 2: but I still say the curse being broken by the
- 15:52Speaker 2: Cubs was a moment we all had to be around
- 15:55Speaker 2: to see. You never thought it would happen for the
- 15:58Speaker 2: Cubs 10 years ago or even before that. Yeah, no,
- 16:01Speaker 2: 108 years.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So that's 50 more than the Brewers.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Exactly. But still, it is a historic day that one
- 16:11Speaker 2: of these teams is going to win their first ever
- 16:14Speaker 2: World Series, and you're alive to see it. I'm alive
- 16:16Speaker 2: to see it. We miss Euchre. I've told my Bob
- 16:20Speaker 2: Euchre story before. We miss him. But I know he's
- 16:23Speaker 2: directing this team from above and probably calling every pitch
- 16:26Speaker 2: up in heaven right now with, hey, maybe— I mean, ironically, God.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Rest his soul, and yes, I'm sure Euchre is looking down.
- 16:34Speaker 1: The last game he ever called was that Alonzo home
- 16:37Speaker 1: run off Devin Williams. That was the last inning of
- 16:40Speaker 1: Brewer baseball he ever called.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Wow.
- 16:44Speaker 1: You know, so— Yeah, it'll be good. I mean, they'll definitely,
- 16:50Speaker 1: they'll be Euchre banners in the stands, even in Tampa tonight,
- 16:55Speaker 1: in St. Petersburg tonight. And if they lose, the thing is,
- 16:59Speaker 1: you don't want Tampa Bay winning the next two games
- 17:01Speaker 1: because then in game six, the pressure switches to Milwaukee
- 17:06Speaker 1: because then it gets into your head if you lose
- 17:08Speaker 1: the next two games and you go back to Milwaukee
- 17:11Speaker 1: and then Milwaukee says, oh my God. Are we going
- 17:14Speaker 1: to be the second team in baseball history to blow it?
- 17:17Speaker 2: No, I think they'll have to get it done either
- 17:19Speaker 2: tonight or tomorrow. I just have this feeling. Yeah, I
- 17:22Speaker 2: would say so. I'm definitely going to Kettle and Fish.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I found a bar that's Wisconsin-themed, so they show the Packers,
- 17:29Speaker 2: the Brewers, the Badgers, so I'm going to go there
- 17:32Speaker 2: and check it out.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Oh, in Manhattan?
- 17:34Speaker 2: In Manhattan, yep. So it'll be in.
- 17:38Speaker 2: In downtown Manhattan, I'll be going over there. Kettle and
- 17:40Speaker 2: Fish is what it's called. So we'll see. Maybe I'll
- 17:43Speaker 2: document some people because, look, I'm sure whoever's going to
- 17:47Speaker 2: be there is as excited as anybody in Milwaukee or
- 17:51Speaker 2: anybody in Tampa for Milwaukee. It's a moment for a
- 17:55Speaker 2: franchise that I say– walked with CeCe, Braun, and Fielder,
- 18:03Speaker 2: that core, and now they're running with it 10 years
- 18:06Speaker 2: later almost. I mean, they set up the winning by
- 18:10Speaker 2: actually getting to the playoffs for the first time since
- 18:12Speaker 2: 82 back in 08. Now look at it eight years later.
- 18:15Speaker 2: So there's been a change going on in Milwaukee for
- 18:17Speaker 2: the last few years. And Pat Murphy.
- 18:19Speaker 1: They made the playoffs, what? They made the playoffs, what?
- 18:21Speaker 2: ALS? Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Well, yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 2: And Pat Murphy, who was actually a candidate for the Mets,
- 18:27Speaker 2: coaching our managing position back in 2019, he now is
- 18:32Speaker 2: one step away from the World Series. And I really
- 18:35Speaker 2: love his managerial style. And, you know, Council burned a
- 18:39Speaker 2: lot of people by going to the Cubs the way
- 18:42Speaker 2: he did. But look what it ended up with for Milwaukee.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Yes. Milwaukee's going to come out smelling like a rose.
- 18:48Speaker 1: That's for sure if they can get this fourth win. Oh, God.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Unbelievable. And the Cubs couldn't even make it past the
- 18:54Speaker 2: wild card, which that's another story. I don't know how
- 18:57Speaker 2: they went from four and a half up at the
- 18:58Speaker 2: wild card to like being not even a home site.
- 19:02Speaker 2: It just was a bad collapse for them. But that was.
- 19:07Speaker 2: That was troubling. But MVPCA for sure. And on this
- 19:12Speaker 2: World Series, Brewers look like they're going to do it.
- 19:16Speaker 2: And I think they're doing it our way, as they say,
- 19:18Speaker 2: because of Laverne and Shirley. That was the whole song
- 19:20Speaker 2: with Laverne and Shirley.
- 19:21Speaker 1: They're doing it their way, that's for sure.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Little by little. And yes, the small market argument is
- 19:27Speaker 2: very real this World Series. But I do think a
- 19:29Speaker 2: lockout's coming. I still have that feeling. So we'll have
- 19:32Speaker 2: to see.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yes, enjoy the game tonight. Or if Tampa wins tomorrow night.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Because I don't think we're going to see baseball, unfortunately.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I hope I'm wrong. Until maybe mid-season or maybe not
- 19:45Speaker 1: at all. Who knows?
- 19:46Speaker 2: Well, I got to go back to Radio Louis, but
- 19:48Speaker 2: let's do some football recap and all. check in on
- 19:51Speaker 2: the World Series if there is a clincher tonight. Tomorrow,
- 19:54Speaker 2: how about it? Whenever the World Series clinch, we'll come
- 19:57Speaker 2: back on and talk and we'll do some football in
- 19:58Speaker 2: the meantime. What do you think?
- 20:00Speaker 1: That sounds good to me, Alex.
- 20:02Speaker 2: But that was NHL heavy because this is a big story.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, no, big story tonight. We'll see how the American
- 20:09Speaker 1: hero does, not only tonight but throughout the season. And
- 20:13Speaker 1: the Devils become an interesting team. I'll let you go,
- 20:16Speaker 1: but Sheldon Keefe, the pressure's on him more than ever now.
- 20:22Speaker 1: And that's why the Devils have to respond now. to
- 20:26Speaker 1: this trade. And it's not going to happen right away,
- 20:29Speaker 1: but in the next couple of weeks. The other thing,
- 20:32Speaker 1: the Islanders, we love Varlamov.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Simeon Varlamov has been a great Islander goaltender.
- 20:39Speaker 1: We helped him get back to those, you know, a
- 20:41Speaker 1: couple of years ago to those back-to-back Final Fours. Alex,
- 20:45Speaker 1: he's come back. He has those two partial knee replacements.
- 20:50Speaker 1: He looks like... the Islanders might have to look for
- 20:54Speaker 1: another goaltender to back up Sorokin.
- 20:56Speaker 2: He looks slow to me. Well, that is sad, because
- 20:59Speaker 2: he was a big part of that Islanders' core for
- 21:02Speaker 2: a while. One last note. Tracy's going on the IR.
- 21:08Speaker 2: You know, all three Giants scored a touchdown on Sunday.
- 21:10Speaker 2: We'll get into that a little bit more. But Tyrone
- 21:12Speaker 2: Tracy out four games, so that puts the load back
- 21:14Speaker 2: on Skadaboo and Singletary. So we'll cover that a little
- 21:18Speaker 2: bit more during the week. Louie T. Yeah, that we don't.
- 21:22Speaker 1: About a lot of comment on what's going on in
- 21:25Speaker 1: New York football so we'll talk about that next show.
- 21:29Speaker 2: All right and when it for so there's this kid
- 21:33Speaker 2: in Milwaukee named Simpson out of you've heard about Him,
- 21:37Speaker 2: is it Simpson or Simon? He's a kid with CP,
- 21:40Speaker 2: big Brewers fan, gets featured by Fox 6 Milwaukee. And
- 21:45Speaker 2: they're all saying winning for this kid was about 12
- 21:48Speaker 2: or 13. And they interview him almost every game about
- 21:51Speaker 2: the Brewers. It's a great story. So I hope they
- 21:53Speaker 2: win it for him as well.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I'm sure the whole organization and the players know about
- 21:58Speaker 1: this young man.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Well, yeah, Miz was asked about him, actually, which is
- 22:02Speaker 2: pretty cool. So that was awesome. All right, Louis T.,
- 22:07Speaker 2: we'll be back soon on One Look Up Alex Media
- 22:10Speaker 2: for more sports. But for now, thanks for a quick
- 22:12Speaker 2: update on what's going on in the Lone Star State.
- 22:16Speaker 2: An American hero, as you say, making his debut with
- 22:19Speaker 2: his devil tonight.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Yes, Alex, thank you, as always, for having me.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Cut!
