Speaker 3: of Meek's realty and today also representing Jute security as well.
• 2:39
Speaker 3: How you doing man? He wore two hats today, were
• 2:42
Speaker 3: two hats? Yeah, all right, So we think of you Rich,
• 2:46
Speaker 3: thus the name Rich the Realtor. But so much more,
• 2:51
Speaker 3: so much more, so, much, so much depth when it
• 2:53
Speaker 3: comes to Rich the Realtor.
• 2:54
Speaker 1: I mean, just check my check with my wife. She'll
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: tell you.
• 2:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, your wifele will say, you're about as deep as
• 3:01
  Speaker 3: what I am.
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
• 3:03
Speaker 3: But we're going to get to realty in real estate
• 3:06
Speaker 3: coming up here in a couple of moments, as we
• 3:07
Speaker 3: do with you once a month. But I do want
• 3:08
Speaker 3: to talk about Jude Security because they were one of
• 3:12
Speaker 3: our sponsors of the show and h it's one of
• 3:16
Speaker 3: the family that of the Mens group, and you're a
• 3:20
  Speaker 3: you're a customer of Jute and it's j O O T.
• 3:23
Speaker 1: Security to talk briefly about you. Yeah, so Jude, of course,
• 3:26
Speaker 1: it's a mutual friend of ours and guy that works
• 3:28
Speaker 1: in our office. But I subscribe to that have more,
• 3:33
Speaker 1: have for more than I don't know, guess we're two
• 3:36
Speaker 1: years or something like that. With that system, it's still
• 3:38
Speaker 1: alarm dot Com just has everything protected, has everything available
• 3:42
Speaker 1: from front doorbell for us with front doorbell cameras on
• 3:45
Speaker 1: the front in the back of the house. We get
• 3:47
Speaker 1: alerts just like any other normal system. We get alerts
• 3:50
Speaker 1: that you know, any movement, whether that's you can set
• 3:53
Speaker 1: that for the interesting part. You can set it for
• 3:56
Speaker 1: human animal or UFO. I was gonna say ones are
• 4:01
Speaker 1: the most interesting ones. Of course, there are typically you know,
• 4:04
Speaker 1: a wasp or something that will set that thing off.
• 4:06
Speaker 1: But it is unidentified objects out there.
• 4:10
Speaker 3: All this time they've talked about UFOs and military cover
• 4:13
Speaker 3: ups and so on. All they had to do was
• 4:15
Speaker 3: called Jude Security Adam and they had they had it
• 4:17
Speaker 3: figured out a lot of time.
• 4:18
Speaker 1: It was already being tracked.
• 4:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, and the consultation is is free as uh as
• 4:22
Speaker 3: always and you can visit the website protected by JUTS
• 4:25
  Speaker 3: j O O T dot com. All right, let's talk
• 4:28
Speaker 3: real estate. Put your rich the realtor hat back on
• 4:31
Speaker 3: for a moment, and uh uh, You've got listings rich
• 4:34
Speaker 3: all over you know that, all over the valley, Charleston, Charleston,
• 4:37
Speaker 3: the Huntington and all points in between. I'm gonna talk
• 4:39
Speaker 3: specifically about a few listings you have in Tay's Valley
• 4:41
  Speaker 3: right now.
• 4:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, I've got a couple of really nice ones in
• 4:43
Speaker 1: in the valley. Both have hurricane zip codes. The first
• 4:47
Speaker 1: one I'll mention is just the one that's in our
• 4:49
Speaker 1: in the Stonegate subdivision. This is one of the castle
• 4:53
Speaker 1: like homes that are from the Old School of Stonegate.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: If you don't know where that is, just just off
• 4:59
Speaker 1: of the exit the thirty nine. They're headed toward Windfield.
• 5:02
Speaker 3: Just yea off the tayste Valley exit pasted Liberty Square.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: And you know that's Apple's one beautiful subdivision has a
• 5:10
Speaker 1: full acre of land. This house is a little over
• 5:12
Speaker 1: eighty five hundred square feet, so it's it is large
• 5:15
Speaker 1: and has six bedrooms and five and a half baths,
• 5:19
Speaker 1: full basement. Uh. This house has two kitchens in its
• 5:22
Speaker 1: surprisingly right, kind of like next to each other, and
• 5:25
Speaker 1: the current occupants the sellers thought that was kind of
• 5:28
Speaker 1: strange when they first bought it, but they use it
• 5:30
Speaker 1: all the time. First kitchen is kind of used as
• 5:33
Speaker 1: the prep area when they're entertaining, and they do a
• 5:35
Speaker 1: lot of entertainments you can imagine on that size, so
• 5:38
Speaker 1: they'll prep a lot of stuff in the one that's
• 5:40
Speaker 1: kind of toward the back and then serve out of
• 5:43
Speaker 1: the other kitchen. So it's it's worked out very well.
• 5:47
Speaker 1: Huge entertainment space out back, three wet bars in the
• 5:50
Speaker 1: in the house, throughout the house, and it is gorgeous. Though.
• 5:53
Speaker 1: To call your agent if you don't have one, call me.
• 5:57
Speaker 1: I'd love to show you that house. Fourteen it's fourteen
• 5:59
Speaker 1: stone Gate Drive in Hurricane. It's listed at eight seventy
• 6:03
  Speaker 1: four to nine.
• 6:03
Speaker 3: Okay, all right, what else you got.
• 6:06
Speaker 1: I listed one in the Woods and Irons subdivision this
• 6:09
Speaker 1: week actually actually last Friday.
• 6:11
Speaker 3: Which is one of the I mean, Stone Gates great,
• 6:13
Speaker 3: but Woods and Irons is like one of the top
• 6:14
Speaker 3: two or three subdivisions a day's glass.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: So beautiful, five bedroom, three and a half bath. This
• 6:20
Speaker 1: house has fully brand new carpet all upstairs and new
• 6:24
Speaker 1: paint throughout. Leslie built home right at three thousand square feet,
• 6:29
Speaker 1: has a pool, fenced in yard, has a deck on
• 6:33
Speaker 1: the back that's been sheltered in, and new sighting around
• 6:36
Speaker 1: that and all that. It's just beautiful out there.
• 6:38
  Speaker 3: It's and it's a great neighborhood too.
• 6:40
Speaker 1: It's fabulous neighborhood and there you know, we obviously we
• 6:43
Speaker 1: have mutual friends that live out there and everyone. At
• 6:46
Speaker 1: one point, Woods and Irons was the place to be,
• 6:49
Speaker 1: and it's still very desirable.
• 6:50
Speaker 3: Well, and I think about the way that Tay's Valley
• 6:52
Speaker 3: has grown and the way it is continuing to grow now,
• 6:56
Speaker 3: is it was the place to be Now there are
• 6:58
Speaker 3: several places to be inta value and it's one of
• 7:00
Speaker 3: the great things about living there are.
• 7:02
Speaker 1: There are several nice neighborhoods there.
• 7:03
Speaker 3: And the thing about. We talked about Putnam County too.
• 7:06
Speaker 3: It's not I mean we we talk we've talked this
• 7:08
Speaker 3: morning primarily about homes and subdivisions. But there's a lot
• 7:11
Speaker 3: of of of rural properties available if you want to
• 7:14
Speaker 3: if you want to do that to me across the
• 7:16
Speaker 3: river over into places like Buffalo and Eleanor and I
• 7:19
Speaker 3: know you get stuff over there too. There's plenty of
• 7:20
Speaker 3: property over there too, if you if you need a
• 7:22
Speaker 3: little bit more room.
• 7:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're look up for space, And that's probably
• 7:25
Speaker 1: the number one requested things these days, particularly buyers who
• 7:28
Speaker 1: are new to the market are just coming into West Virginia.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: They're looking for they don't really necessarily want to be
• 7:33
Speaker 1: in a subdivision. They don't want neighbors right across the
• 7:35
Speaker 1: street from them, even they are privacy fences or whatever.
• 7:37
Speaker 1: But uh, you know, it is one of the most
• 7:39
Speaker 1: sought out uh search criterias, is to give us a
• 7:43
Speaker 1: little room. I'd like to have some acreage if we
• 7:46
Speaker 1: can get it. And so those are a little more
• 7:48
Speaker 1: uh that there are fewer and further between, but and
• 7:51
Speaker 1: they're a little more of a fight to get to them.
• 7:53
Speaker 1: Lots of people looking for them.
• 7:54
Speaker 3: Talking to Rich the realtor of Meeks Realty to Day

• 8:06
Speaker 3: Court dot net. Because what you don't know can't hurt you.
• 8:09
Speaker 3: And we're going to talk about this a little bit
• 8:10
Speaker 3: later on and I know we're going to get into
• 8:12
Speaker 3: it on midday and also on the show tomorrow at
• 8:13
Speaker 3: ten am. This morning, there's going to be an economic
• 8:16
Speaker 3: development announcement coming out of Putnham County and has to
• 8:19
Speaker 3: do with Eleanor and they've kind of embargoed a little bit.
• 8:21
Speaker 3: We can't say a whole lot about it right now.
• 8:23
Speaker 3: We're covering it and of course we'll have it on
• 8:25
Speaker 3: air in a WV Metronews dot com and we're going
• 8:27
Speaker 3: to have one of the folks from the company actually
• 8:31
Speaker 3: I think it's somebody probably from the marketing department or
• 8:33
Speaker 3: the PR firm. It's going to join us on Metro
• 8:35
Speaker 3: News Midday during the twelve o'clock hour I think it
• 8:37
Speaker 3: is today, and then we'll have them on the local
• 8:39
Speaker 3: show tomorrow. But I say that because it's just another
• 8:42
Speaker 3: announcement about things coming into Putnham County. This particular one
• 8:46
Speaker 3: is in the Eleanor area. And I know not everybody
• 8:48
Speaker 3: that's going to work there is going to live in Eleanor.
• 8:50
Speaker 3: I get that, but you do have properties and that
• 8:54
Speaker 3: it is Eleanor is a cool place.
• 8:56
Speaker 1: Yeah. So the thing about Eleanor is that it's always
• 8:58
Speaker 1: interesting to be talking the buyers and particularly people who
• 9:01
Speaker 1: already lived there of Eleanor is a very desirable area
• 9:05
Speaker 1: to be and it's always a little surprising to me.
• 9:07
Speaker 1: It's across the river from you know, the highways, a
• 9:10
Speaker 1: little fifteen minute track back or whatever to the Gucci
• 9:14
Speaker 1: Kroger and all that stuff.
• 9:15
Speaker 3: But people the Pradut Kroger, Gucci, Oh the product, yeah,
• 9:18
Speaker 3: were the product Kroger. Gucci's the one in South Charles
• 9:21
  Speaker 3: and South Charles.
• 9:22
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 9:22
Speaker 1: Well, people who live in the Eleanor and when we
• 9:25
Speaker 1: sell them a house there in Eleanor that they love
• 9:27
  Speaker 1: that little town.
• 9:28
Speaker 3: It is the cleanest town and its Virginia's town. When
• 9:30
Speaker 3: you pull into town, they have a sign that says
• 9:32
Speaker 3: the cleanest town in West Virginia.
• 9:33
Speaker 1: It is it's just it's an interesting little town. It's
• 9:35
Speaker 1: the one that doesn't deliver the mail. You've got to
• 9:38
Speaker 1: go to the post office. But people just they just
• 9:41
Speaker 1: love it over there. It's a beautiful area. It is
• 9:43
Speaker 1: a beautiful area. I suspect that those home values, well,
• 9:46
Speaker 1: the home values, you know, we'll see what happens with that,
• 9:48
Speaker 1: but there'll definitely be some desirability with this new announcement
• 9:51
Speaker 1: of more and more people coming to Alan.
• 9:53
Speaker 3: I mean, it's amazing what's going on of there. Had
• 9:55
Speaker 3: the mayor of Hurricane on, I've had him on several times.
• 9:58
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 9:58
Speaker 3: They just announced that huge entertainment complex that they're building
• 10:01
Speaker 3: in downtown Hurricane and the other fire.
• 10:02
Speaker 1: Going to be the Yeah yeah after Edwards.
• 10:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, Mayor Edwards sorry announced yeah yeah he he he yeah.
• 10:11
  Speaker 2: He wanted me.
• 10:12
Speaker 3: He agreed to come on the show on short notice
• 10:14
Speaker 3: if I would agree to be the first person to
• 10:16
Speaker 3: karaoke there. And as I said on the show last week,
• 10:20
Speaker 3: to quote my late father, that boy sings in the
• 10:22
Speaker 3: key of L, well it sounds like L. You just
• 10:24
Speaker 3: got to say it fast, you know, for maybe maybe
• 10:27
Speaker 3: Dad and I thought that was funnier than then than
• 10:28
Speaker 3: it really is. But yeah, I did agree to do it. Uh,
• 10:31
Speaker 3: and it's not going to be pretty so probably the
• 10:34
Speaker 3: probably stay away, probably stay it, probably stay away. But
• 10:38
Speaker 3: and we got all the homes that are coming in
• 10:39
Speaker 3: there on that property, and you know, the three or
• 10:42
Speaker 3: four just went in not far from where I lived,
• 10:44
Speaker 3: behind Wendy's and whatever.
• 10:45
Speaker 1: And uh, I think they're cutting the ribbon on that.
• 10:48
Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, I mean, and people are already you know,
• 10:50
  Speaker 3: living there. I mean, there's U hauls coming in. It's
• 10:53
  Speaker 3: just uh, it's it's a it's a great and people,
• 10:57
Speaker 3: you know, complain about traffic. Rich you know, traffic is
• 11:01
Speaker 3: a good problem. It's a great problem to have. And
• 11:03
Speaker 3: there are people just coming to Putnam County. It's just
• 11:06
Speaker 3: like the nineteen nineties. I wasn't there in the nineties,
• 11:08
Speaker 3: but that's what they say is there was this big
• 11:10
Speaker 3: influx with people in the nineties and it kind of
• 11:12
Speaker 3: leveled off a little bit. It's the leveling is done.
• 11:14
Speaker 3: They're coming back again.
• 11:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely. It's definitely drawing some people. And it
• 11:19
Speaker 1: is again like the Eleanor folks that want to live there.
• 11:23
Speaker 1: And the number one search area for my buyers is
• 11:26
Speaker 1: in Putnam County, it just is. I mean, we sell
• 11:28
Speaker 1: them all over the state. You know, my board covers
• 11:31
Speaker 1: fourteen counties that we that we associate with, but Puttnham
• 11:36
Speaker 1: County is the most desirable one.
• 11:38
Speaker 3: Now as we gear as we'll let you go here.
• 11:40
Speaker 3: But as we get into the to the fall months,
• 11:42
Speaker 3: which you know, it was eighty seven degrees when I
• 11:44
Speaker 3: left the studio here yesterday doesn't feel like faul but
• 11:46
Speaker 3: officially it is fall. October starts tomorrow. What kind of
• 11:49
Speaker 3: changes do you see in the in the in the
• 11:51
Speaker 3: real estate market to people, you know, more more active
• 11:54
Speaker 3: because we want to be in a new home, buy
• 11:56
Speaker 3: for the winter or for Christmas or what's the differences
• 11:59
Speaker 3: between the different seasons.
• 12:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, I would say that there's fewer variables driving home
• 12:04
Speaker 1: sales during the fall time. But you know, life happens
• 12:07
Speaker 1: to people. And I know, for the time that I've
• 12:09
Speaker 1: been out into the business, outside of last year, December
• 12:13
Speaker 1: was one of my busiest months. I mean, it just
• 12:15
Speaker 1: has been for years, and people trying to get in
• 12:17
Speaker 1: maybe maybe I don't know if it's about the holiday necessarily,
• 12:20
Speaker 1: but maybe by the end of the year they're trying
• 12:22
Speaker 1: to button things up and be where they're going to be.
• 12:24
Speaker 1: And but you know, life happens to Folks are buying
• 12:26
Speaker 1: houses no matter what time of the year it is.
• 12:28
Speaker 1: And you know there's schools, you know, school changes aren't
• 12:31
Speaker 1: driving that right now, which is the spring selling season
• 12:34
Speaker 1: that happens. And but but there's still you know, still
• 12:37
Speaker 1: a lot of buying and selling going on. And if
• 12:40
Speaker 1: you're not you know that people think when should I
• 12:42
Speaker 1: you know, want when should I jump into the market.
• 12:44
Speaker 1: I say do it when you're when you're ready to
• 12:47
Speaker 1: jump in. You need a house, jump in and you
• 12:50
  Speaker 1: got them?
• 12:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, call us, Yeah, love to help you, give your information.
• 12:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, so I can be reached. I'm rich the realtor,
• 12:55
Speaker 1: and I can be reached to area code three oh
• 12:56
Speaker 1: four nine three two seven four eight eight. It's three
• 13:00

• 16:06
Speaker 3: just a car show. Jerry Boyko is here to talk
• 16:09
Speaker 3: about it. Good morning, Sarah, and welcome to the show.
• 16:11
Speaker 9: Good morning, Thank you for having me, Thank you for
• 16:13
  Speaker 9: being here.
• 16:14
  Speaker 1: Now.
• 16:14
Speaker 3: It's going to be at hand that Riverfront Park and
• 16:16
Speaker 3: it's sponsored by the West Virginia State Wide Independent Living Council.
• 16:21
Speaker 3: Before we get to the car show, let's talk about
• 16:23
Speaker 3: because you're the executive director of this organization, talk about
• 16:26
Speaker 3: the work that this group does.
• 16:29
Speaker 9: Okay, well, our main priority is to in cooperation with
• 16:35
Speaker 9: the seniors for independent living in the state. We create
• 16:39
Speaker 9: the State Plan for Independent Living, which determines how federal
• 16:44
Speaker 9: and state funds are spent on independent living to help
• 16:47
Speaker 9: people in West Virginia with disabilities to stay in their
• 16:51
  Speaker 9: homes in communities.
• 16:53
Speaker 3: And I was doing some reading and you know, you
• 16:55
Speaker 3: set us up with some information about the organization, I mean,
• 17:00
Speaker 3: and it's it's incredible some of the things that you
• 17:02
Speaker 3: folks are able to do, as you said, to keep
• 17:04
Speaker 3: people in their homes in the residence. Talk about some
• 17:08
Speaker 3: of the things that you do.
• 17:10
Speaker 9: Well. We have a back to school program we just
• 17:13
Speaker 9: started to help kids with disabilities, you know, get back
• 17:17
Speaker 9: into school. We have some organizations that help sponsor that
• 17:22
Speaker 9: provide some backpacks and you know, items like that for school.
• 17:27
Speaker 9: Of course, we do the car show to help raise
• 17:30
Speaker 9: money for the CLSP program.
• 17:33
  Speaker 1: We also.
• 17:36
Speaker 9: Administer a program called the ron Yo's Personal Assistance Services Program,
• 17:42
Speaker 9: which helps reimburse people with disabilities for costs for their
• 17:48
Speaker 9: caregiver so we can help them stay in their homes
• 17:51
Speaker 9: as opposed as to going into a nursing home or
• 17:55
  Speaker 9: other institution.
• 17:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that. That's one of the things that
• 17:57
Speaker 3: interested me when I was reading your information about the group,
• 18:00
Speaker 3: because you know, sometimes, uh, these things obviously can be
• 18:05
Speaker 3: very very expensive. And sometimes people who may have a disability,
• 18:11
Speaker 3: and there's several different types of disabilities that you folks
• 18:13
Speaker 3: deal with, but they they just need some modifications, they
• 18:17
Speaker 3: just need something like that. They and otherwise they're perfectly
• 18:20
Speaker 3: you know, content and happy and healthy to be in
• 18:22
Speaker 3: their own homes. And it's it's just great work you
• 18:24
  Speaker 3: folks do there.
• 18:26
Speaker 9: Thank you, Thank you.
• 18:27
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 18:28
Speaker 9: Sometimes it can be just as small as a rap
• 18:30
Speaker 9: added to your home. And in other times someone may
• 18:33
Speaker 9: need a full bathroom march so they can you know,
• 18:36
Speaker 9: get into their bathroom and take a shower and do
• 18:38
Speaker 9: what they need to do.
• 18:39
Speaker 3: It's a nine to twenty five a day violand show
• 18:41
Speaker 3: and five any line brought you in part by your
• 18:42
Speaker 3: hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds, the Selango Law
• 18:45
Speaker 3: Light the Night returning to Go Martin Ballpark November twenty
• 18:48

• 18:51

• 18:54
Speaker 3: pay for these things, you got to have fundraisers and
• 18:56
Speaker 3: you gotta have things like that. And so you got
• 18:58
Speaker 3: this car show. It's going to be going on Saturday
• 19:00
Speaker 3: at Hadad Riverfront Park, and it's more than just more
• 19:03
Speaker 3: than just another car car show, because you've got all
• 19:06
Speaker 3: kinds of things going on there, Jerry.
• 19:08
  Speaker 4: We do.
• 19:09
Speaker 9: We We are featuring vehicles that have successible modifications that
• 19:15
Speaker 9: allow people with disabilities abilities to drive, like hand controls, uh,
• 19:20
Speaker 9: lifts and ramps. And we also have a local mobility
• 19:27
Speaker 9: company that's going to be there showcasing some of their vehicles.
• 19:30
Speaker 9: Total Mobility Services will be there to kind of display
• 19:35
Speaker 9: what they have and things that are available. Uh.
• 19:38
  Speaker 3: And I mean I think this is a it's great
• 19:40
Speaker 3: information for people to come out. Plus, I mean, if
• 19:43
Speaker 3: you're you're a car person, you just want to look
• 19:45
Speaker 3: at cars. I mean, you know, you want to look
• 19:46
Speaker 3: at vehicles, no matter what kind they are, right.
• 19:49
Speaker 9: That's right. And we've got cars, trust, motorcycles. Uh, you know,
• 19:53
Speaker 9: anything that is what's looking at we want to see
• 19:56
Speaker 9: it at the show. We've got several classes. We're going
• 20:00
Speaker 9: to be giving trophies for corvettes and muscle cars, mustangs, jeeps.
• 20:06
Speaker 9: So bring them all out and have a chance at
• 20:09
Speaker 9: winning a trophy and lots of good prizes. And I know.
• 20:11
Speaker 3: I mean, my brother in law is a car show guy,
• 20:14
Speaker 3: and I've gone to enough of them with him to
• 20:16
Speaker 3: know that these these folks, they'll go to a car
• 20:19
Speaker 3: show anywhere for as a possibility for a trophy. Right,
• 20:22
  Speaker 3: that's right.
• 20:22
Speaker 9: And it looks like we're going to have a great day.
• 20:25
Speaker 9: It looks like it's going to be nice and sunny.
• 20:27
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 20:27
Speaker 9: We also got, you know, some bands that's going to
• 20:30
Speaker 9: be there. We got some food trucks, so we've got
• 20:32
  Speaker 9: everything for everybody.
• 20:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was getting ready to say. I mean,
• 20:35
Speaker 3: it's not just about the cars. I mean, you've got
• 20:37
Speaker 3: food trucks happening, you got all kinds of bands, and
• 20:40
Speaker 3: can you can you run down that schedule for us
• 20:42
  Speaker 3: a little bit?
• 20:44
Speaker 9: Absolutely? So the cars will start rolling in about nine
• 20:47
Speaker 9: o'clock eleven am, the show stars, the bands start playing
• 20:51
Speaker 9: until about six o'clock, so we'll have music all day long.
• 20:55
Speaker 9: We're going to have the awards ceremony at four thirty
• 20:59
Speaker 9: and during that award ceremony, we're also giving away what
• 21:03
Speaker 9: we call the John Lipscomb Advocacy awards to to, you know,
• 21:11
Speaker 9: an Advocate of the Year that is going to be
• 21:14
Speaker 9: recognized for all of the work that they do to
• 21:16
Speaker 9: help people with disabilities.
• 21:18
Speaker 3: That's good stuff. Again, we're talking with Jerry Boyko, who
• 21:21
Speaker 3: is the executive director of the West Virginia state Wide
• 21:23
Speaker 3: Independent Living Council. They're the ones that are sponsoring this
• 21:26
Speaker 3: big event. Who are some of the bands? Do you
• 21:28
Speaker 3: have a list of the bands that to be playing.
• 21:29
Speaker 9: Yeah, so we're going to have Amanda Smith with Relative Acoustically,
• 21:34
Speaker 9: and after that we'll have Relative Obscurity. They start at
• 21:38
Speaker 9: one o'clock and at two we're going to have Acoustic Fusion.
• 21:44
Speaker 9: They're going to be up on the boulevard, and then
• 21:48
Speaker 9: lastly we're going to have Five Star Rebellion. And these
• 21:52
Speaker 9: are all local bands that are volunteering their time and talent.
• 21:55
Speaker 9: So I'd like to see everybody come out and support
• 21:58
Speaker 9: them and health team like they're helping u US.
• 22:01
Speaker 3: I mean, it's going to be a great day weather wise,
• 22:03
Speaker 3: I mean you mentioned that earlier. I mean, you couldn't
• 22:05
Speaker 3: ask for better weather. It's not going to be very
• 22:07
Speaker 3: fall like and that's okay. I mean, t temperature is
• 22:09
Speaker 3: going to be in the upper seventies to low eighties.
• 22:11
Speaker 3: No chance of rain right now. The Mountaineers play on
• 22:14
Speaker 3: Friday night, so you can't use that as an excuse
• 22:16
Speaker 3: that you're staying home or going to watch the game
• 22:18
Speaker 3: or going to Morgantown. So it's a late game, so
• 22:20
Speaker 3: you might be a little bit groggy when you come
• 22:22
Speaker 3: out there because they don't kick off till ten thirty.
• 22:24
Speaker 3: And Marshall's off this week, so football is not going
• 22:27
Speaker 3: to get Intoa, at least with WVU and Marshall.
• 22:29
Speaker 9: Right, that's right, And you know we run into that
• 22:33
Speaker 9: problem the last couple of years, and we did look
• 22:35
Speaker 9: at that schedule, so we were glad to see the
• 22:37
Speaker 9: Mountaineers play the day before, so you get to see
• 22:40
Speaker 9: the football in, come out to the car show and
• 22:42
Speaker 9: don't have to miss a thing.
• 22:44
Speaker 3: All right, So give us all the rundown again, the
• 22:47
Speaker 3: times and how just the case of people are tuning
• 22:49
Speaker 3: in late, the times and the schedule.
• 22:52
Speaker 9: Okay, so nine o'clock to eleven is the course should
• 22:55
Speaker 9: be rolling in and getting registered. They can also register
• 22:59
Speaker 9: early on our website and freedomcarshow dot org open to
• 23:04
Speaker 9: the public at eleven. We shut down at six and
• 23:09
Speaker 9: fans are playing all day long. The Wars ceremony starts
• 23:13
Speaker 9: at four thirty. That's when we're going to give out
• 23:15
Speaker 9: all the trophies and prizes then we've got and so
• 23:18
Speaker 9: we hope to see everyone out there.
• 23:20
Speaker 3: All right, Jerry, I appreciate you being here. Best of
• 23:22
Speaker 3: luck with everything. We'll see you Saturday, my friend. Thanks
• 23:25
Speaker 3: a lot, all right, thank you, Jerry Boyko again, the
• 23:28
Speaker 3: executive director of the West Virginia state Wide Independent Living Council.
• 23:31
Speaker 3: The big car Show, the Freedom Car Show is happening
• 23:34
Speaker 3: on the Boulevard and then had that Riverfront Park and
• 23:36
Speaker 3: it will be this coming Saturday. And normally with these
• 23:40
Speaker 3: car shows you have to say rain or shine. But
• 23:43
Speaker 3: now it's not gonna be worrying about rain. I mean,
• 23:46
Speaker 3: my handy little phone app tells me here that Saturday
• 23:49
Speaker 3: it's going to be sunny and seventy nine here in
• 23:52
Speaker 3: the capital city. So as a matter of fact, we
• 23:54
Speaker 3: don't have any chance of rain the Forecastle next Tuesday,
• 23:57
Speaker 3: which is a little bit problematic because we definitely only
• 24:00
Speaker 3: definitely need some rain, but that's where we are right now.
• 24:03
Speaker 3: But anyway, going out here and taking the car show,
• 24:04
Speaker 3: it's going to be a great, great time. But Dave

• 24:31
Speaker 3: to mention this quickly? Because there's so many activities going on,
• 24:34
Speaker 3: as are always are, we can't possibly cover them all.
• 24:38
Speaker 3: But I will tell you that this Saturday, and look,
• 24:41
Speaker 3: you could do more than one thing at a time.
• 24:42
Speaker 3: I mean, you can go to the car show, but
• 24:44
Speaker 3: you can also join us in Saint Albans because myself
• 24:48
Speaker 3: and Steve Animal and more likely Shockley, we are going
• 24:51
Speaker 3: to be on the streets of Saint Albans. And anytime
• 24:55
Speaker 3: you hear me say that that myself and Shockley and
• 24:58
Speaker 3: Animal are on the streets of Saint you probably think
• 25:01
Speaker 3: there's some kind of Shenanigan's going on or one of
• 25:03
Speaker 3: us is face down, but that's not the case. We
• 25:06
Speaker 3: have got the fall Y'all Chili cook Off and it
• 25:10
Speaker 3: is happening this Saturday in in Charo in Saint All.
• 25:15
Speaker 3: But it's going to be a great, great time. It
• 25:16
Speaker 3: always is. In the Mountain or Sister Station ninety eight
• 25:19
Speaker 3: seven of the Mountain will be there all over the place,
• 25:22
Speaker 3: up on stage. Whatever got music, and of course we
• 25:24
Speaker 3: got you know, we got chili, but we got other
• 25:26
Speaker 3: things besides chili as well. Dave Rucker is one of
• 25:29
Speaker 3: the folks that's behind this and he is going to
• 25:32
Speaker 3: join us on the show on Thursday. He was on
• 25:34
Speaker 3: last week, but he's going to join us on the
• 25:35
Speaker 3: show Thursday to talk about it. But we're looking forward
• 25:37
Speaker 3: to seeing everybody in St Albans right on Old Main,
• 25:40
Speaker 3: right in the heart of everything. And again, as I said,
• 25:42
Speaker 3: just like with the Car Show, it is going to
• 25:45
Speaker 3: be Weather's going to be fantastic. So I hope you
• 25:48
Speaker 3: can come out and join us. And I know the
• 25:49
Speaker 3: Chili Cookoff is a big part of it. I had
• 25:51
Speaker 3: a chance to judge it. I was one of the
• 25:53
Speaker 3: judges last year and they rotate the judges every year.
• 25:57
Speaker 3: Which I think is a good thing. You don't want
• 25:58
Speaker 3: to always have the same judges. And I don't know,
• 26:00
Speaker 3: so I don't have the entire list of judges, but
• 26:02
Speaker 3: I do know our good friend Marrily mccauliffe from wowk
• 26:05
Speaker 3: TV thirteen is going to be one of the judges,
• 26:07
Speaker 3: and the food guy Stephen Keith is from The Gazette
• 26:10
Speaker 3: Mail is also going to be one of the judges
• 26:12
Speaker 3: this year. And I'm going to be hanging out, you know,
• 26:14
Speaker 3: because you only when you judge chili, you only take
• 26:16
Speaker 3: one bite and you put it down, and all that
• 26:18
Speaker 3: chili just'ster where somebody should finish it off. So I'm
• 26:20
Speaker 3: just saying I'll just get a fresh spoon and help
• 26:23
Speaker 3: you out there. But anyway, that's happening in Saint Aubus
• 26:26
Speaker 3: on Saturday. We'll talk more about it with Dave Rucker
• 26:29
Speaker 3: coming up on the show on Thursday. Now, I got
• 26:31
Speaker 3: a couple of texts here, and then we'll bring in
• 26:32
Speaker 3: Sean Hill from KRT Texas. Good morning, Dave. This one's
• 26:35
Speaker 3: about agriculture. Not really your thing, I know, but it's
• 26:38
Speaker 3: how we stay alive.
• 26:39
  Speaker 6: Agreed.
• 26:40
Speaker 3: The question, can Magus explain to me why Trump wants
• 26:43
Speaker 3: to spend twenty billion dollars or send rather, I'm sorry,
• 26:46
Speaker 3: twenty billion dollars to Argentina to bail out their farmers
• 26:49
Speaker 3: besides to prop up their government. That is a Maggart replica.
• 26:53
Speaker 3: Couldn't that money be better spent on homeless veterans? Says
• 26:57
Speaker 3: the text And to say it's not my thing. I'm
• 27:01
Speaker 3: not necessarily into the agriculture thing as far as growing it,
• 27:03

• 27:29
Speaker 3: and I know in talking to Rich the realtor and
• 27:32
Speaker 3: people like that, not just Rich but others, that there
• 27:35
Speaker 3: is a growing demand for homes. People are moving in again.

Speaker 3: Sean Hill KRT is here. Hey doing my friend, I'm
• 31:14
Speaker 3: doing fantastic. Thanks for having me, Thank you for being here.
• 31:16
Speaker 3: So what's new? You had all kinds of stuff you
• 31:19
Speaker 3: want to talk about today?
• 31:20
Speaker 12: We'll turn it over to you, Yes, sir, Yeah, We've
• 31:22
Speaker 12: got a lot going on a KRT that we're excited
• 31:24
Speaker 12: about it. The one thing I want to talk about
• 31:26
Speaker 12: the most is starting October thirteenth, we're going to be
• 31:28
Speaker 12: expanding our KRT Plus service. So we've we've started with
• 31:32
Speaker 12: three zones over the last year, and now we're feeling
• 31:35
Speaker 12: confident that we can expand those zones out. So starting
• 31:39
Speaker 12: on October thirteenth, we're going to add Southridge, Knas City,
• 31:42
Speaker 12: and South Charleston to that program. And as we've talked
• 31:44
Speaker 12: about before and some of our hopefully our listeners are
• 31:47
Speaker 12: aware of, this program is kind of our it's our
• 31:49
Speaker 12: on demand ride share service ESQ, provided by KRT. So
• 31:55
Speaker 12: you get on our KRT Plus app, you ask for
• 31:57
Speaker 12: a ride, it comes and picks you up in your zone,
• 31:59
Speaker 12: it takes you somewhere else in that zone, or it
• 32:01
Speaker 12: gets you to the bus line.
• 32:02
Speaker 3: And you talk about it being I like that term
• 32:04
Speaker 3: ride share ESK, yes, because that's I mean, that's pretty
• 32:08
Speaker 3: much what it is. And you know, there was there
• 32:10
Speaker 3: were some things in the news over to the last
• 32:12
Speaker 3: of year and year and a half or sovice you, guys,
• 32:13
Speaker 3: we're going to be cutting back and that's and that's
• 32:15
Speaker 3: true and your traditional service, but you've in a way
• 32:20
Speaker 3: added to it with this ride.
• 32:21
  Speaker 6: Share service exactly.
• 32:22
Speaker 12: And so what we were asked and we went through
• 32:24
Speaker 12: about five public hearings and the feedback was fantastic and
• 32:28
Speaker 12: I appreciate our passengers for coming out and giving us
• 32:30
Speaker 12: and asking us, Hey, can you come up with an
• 32:32
Speaker 12: idea where people we still have service of some type.
• 32:35
Speaker 12: We understand you guys have budget realities and need to
• 32:37
Speaker 12: be responsible with your funding, but can you do it
• 32:40
Speaker 12: in a way that maintains service. So what we're talking
• 32:42
Speaker 12: about is those three new zones coming on so that
• 32:44
Speaker 12: we have six total, and then two of those routes
• 32:47
Speaker 12: that we talked about for really literally for over three
• 32:49
Speaker 12: years now, have said, hey, these routes are over subsidized.
• 32:52
Speaker 12: I can't look you in the eye and say they
• 32:54
Speaker 12: make sense for me to continue to ride buses up
• 32:56
Speaker 12: and down you know, Bridge Road or Beach Avenue. But
• 32:58
Speaker 12: what we can do is provide this service where instead
• 33:01
Speaker 12: of living by krt's schedule where we come, you know,
• 33:03
Speaker 12: six times a day through South Hills or Beach Avenue.
• 33:06
Speaker 12: Now from six am to six pm, you can get
• 33:08
Speaker 12: on your phone or you can call into our office.
• 33:10
Speaker 12: You don't want to download the app, that's completely fine,
• 33:12
Speaker 12: and ask for a ride and we'll come pick you up.
• 33:14
Speaker 12: So now too, the citizens of Gawk County know, if
• 33:16
Speaker 12: you see a KRT vehicle on October thirteenth and South
• 33:20
Speaker 12: Hills are on Beach Avenue, it's because someone said, hey,
• 33:22
Speaker 12: I want to ride. It's not just the fact that
• 33:23
Speaker 12: it was driving around in circles.
• 33:25
Speaker 3: And that's unfortunately, that's kind of what happens, not just
• 33:28
Speaker 3: with KRT, but with any public trains and service. Sometimes
• 33:30
Speaker 3: you have more riders than you do.
• 33:32
Speaker 12: Other times exactly, and that's the point of making sure
• 33:36
Speaker 12: that we keep this a liquid system. We learn from
• 33:38
Speaker 12: what works, and if it's working, let's pump it up.
• 33:41
Speaker 12: And that's what we see on the Kana River. We
• 33:43
Speaker 12: actually increased our frequency to Saint Albans, Nitro, Montgomery, those
• 33:47
Speaker 12: areas because we said, hey, the ridership demand is there.
• 33:50
Speaker 12: The areas where it's not working, it's okay to admit
• 33:52
Speaker 12: that and say, hey, how do we make an adjustment
• 33:54
Speaker 12: that makes our dollar go further?
• 33:55
Speaker 6: And that's what this program does.
• 33:57
Speaker 3: How much input you talked about the public hearings anything.
• 34:00
Speaker 3: We're talking with Sean Hill from krtwo. You talk about
• 34:02
Speaker 3: the public hearings, You had several of them. What did
• 34:06
Speaker 3: what did you go back in time? What did you
• 34:08
Speaker 3: take away from those from those public hearings?
• 34:10
Speaker 12: The first thing I took away was to have to
• 34:12
Speaker 12: have public hearings where you come out and say hey,
• 34:14
Speaker 12: we're going to make a change, and if you do
• 34:16
Speaker 12: that every ten or fifteen years, you better hang on.
• 34:18
Speaker 6: Tight because you're gonna you're gonna get some feedback.
• 34:21
Speaker 12: Changes hard what you wanted. It is exactly what we wanted.
• 34:23
Speaker 12: But it also taught us a lesson of hey, go slow,
• 34:27
Speaker 12: have more of these meetings than than you, even on paper,
• 34:29
Speaker 12: maybe think you need, because you want to make sure
• 34:32
Speaker 12: you get all the feedback you can. And that that
• 34:33
Speaker 12: resounding feedback to us was, hey, we're okay if you
• 34:36
Speaker 12: make some changes, just don't do it all at once
• 34:38
Speaker 12: and don't take it out away from us the service.
• 34:40
Speaker 12: And that's what we've kind of even after three years,
• 34:43
Speaker 12: we're at the point now where we're saying, okay, we're
• 34:45
Speaker 12: ready to flip that switch on those two routes and
• 34:47
Speaker 12: convert them over to this on demand transit uh. And
• 34:50
Speaker 12: that's that's the culmination of that feedback from the public
• 34:54
Speaker 12: and also us saying, hey, what ideas are out there
• 34:56
Speaker 12: and technologies we can use to make our dollar go further.
• 34:58
Speaker 3: And everything's gon pretty smoothly. I mean again, change is hard,
• 35:01
Speaker 3: we all know that, but everything's pretty much gone smoothing people.
• 35:06
Speaker 6: It has so over a year of doing this service.
• 35:09
Speaker 12: It's given us some data because what we want to
• 35:11
Speaker 12: make sure is that we're methodical and how we roll
• 35:13
Speaker 12: this out. You know, I could bring out twelve zones
• 35:16
Speaker 12: all over Kanaha County and it would look great on paper,
• 35:18
Speaker 12: but if you ask for a ride and it doesn't
• 35:20
Speaker 12: show up. That was the frustrations we've had with transit
• 35:24
Speaker 12: or with apps like Uber or lyft in Kanaha County.
• 35:27
Speaker 12: So what we wanted to do was make sure we
• 35:29
Speaker 12: could maintain that level of service where we had the
• 35:31
Speaker 12: completion of the rides hovering up there. It's hovering around
• 35:33
Speaker 12: ninety percent right now. We're happy with that, and we
• 35:36
Speaker 12: think what that teaches us is that we could expand slowly,
• 35:39
Speaker 12: and that's what we've done into three new groups.
• 35:41
Speaker 6: And what we'll do is we'll learn from there.
• 35:43
Speaker 12: Hey, if that demand or the completion rates drop substantially,
• 35:47
Speaker 12: that means we need to bring on more drivers to
• 35:49
Speaker 12: be able to perform that work. So we're going to
• 35:51
Speaker 12: learn from the demand, but then keep that high level
• 35:54
Speaker 12: of standard to make sure when people ask for a ride,
• 35:55
  Speaker 12: they get one.
• 35:56
Speaker 3: You talked about downloading the app, and you know, not
• 35:59
Speaker 3: everybody's tech savvy, or maybe sometimes people don't trust apps
• 36:04
Speaker 3: or they just you know, they got enough apps, you know,
• 36:08
Speaker 3: as many of us do. Uh, So you can you
• 36:10
Speaker 3: can just call you can just call do the old
• 36:12
  Speaker 3: fashion one.
• 36:13
Speaker 12: Yep, you can call our office. It's a three or
• 36:15
Speaker 12: four three four three seven five eight six. You call
• 36:17
Speaker 12: that number. One of our schedulers will they'll pick up
• 36:20
Speaker 12: the phone into it for you. They'll they'll log it
• 36:22
Speaker 12: in essentially just like the app. But I agree, I
• 36:24
Speaker 12: don't want one more app on my phone, and this
• 36:27
Speaker 12: is a way around that.
• 36:28
Speaker 6: So you can still receive the same exact service.
• 36:30
Speaker 12: The only difference is you know your notifications of hey,
• 36:33
Speaker 12: your vehicle was five minutes away. Yeah, you won't get that,
• 36:36
Speaker 12: but that's okay, You're still going to get picked up.
• 36:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, and what uh what else is going on for
• 36:40
  Speaker 3: the future.
• 36:41
  Speaker 1: Sure.
• 36:41
Speaker 12: So another thing that's that's taken off in the last month,
• 36:45
Speaker 12: about two weeks ago, we started our fair Capping initiative
• 36:48
Speaker 12: and this was the introduction of account based ticketing, So
• 36:51
Speaker 12: individuals can now load up a card. You think about, hey,
• 36:55
  Speaker 12: like I've got a Kroger card, or I've got a
• 36:56
Speaker 12: Sheets card, et cetera. Or you've got to go mark card,
• 36:59
Speaker 12: but you actually load this card up with your kart
• 37:03
Speaker 12: to the balance. And what that does is we call
• 37:05
Speaker 12: it fair capping because we experienced that individuals who rode
• 37:09
Speaker 12: our buses may over the course of a month pay
• 37:12
Speaker 12: more if they paid every single day then if they
• 37:15
Speaker 12: just bought the month pass at the first day of
• 37:16
Speaker 12: the month. So this fair capping program says, once you
• 37:19
Speaker 12: hit fifty dollars in a month with KRT, the next
• 37:22
Speaker 12: time you go to ride, it's going to say zero dollars.
• 37:25
Speaker 12: That's something that we're really proud of because we think
• 37:27
Speaker 12: it's taking into consideration in our passengers who ride daily.
• 37:32
Speaker 12: It's giving them an incentive and helping them save money.
• 37:34
Speaker 12: We don't feel good about the fact that if you
• 37:36
Speaker 12: did the math and paid every single day, you ended
• 37:38
Speaker 12: up paying more than the person who paid for it upfront.
• 37:41
Speaker 12: So this is a nice initiative for us. And it's
• 37:43
Speaker 12: also giving our passengers the ability to use this card
• 37:47
Speaker 12: that loads their balance that they can reload at convenience stores,
• 37:50
Speaker 12: et cetera. Instead of having to pay with cash every
• 37:53
Speaker 12: time they get on the bus. They can still do that,
• 37:55
Speaker 12: but they can do it quicker if they load up
• 37:56
Speaker 12: at the city center down at Kart's headquarter.
• 37:59
Speaker 3: All right, so what does just to average? I mean,
• 38:01
Speaker 3: I guess it varies, but give us an idea of
• 38:03
Speaker 3: the of the prices. If you're paying for cash or whatever,
• 38:05
Speaker 3: you don't get them. Yeah, so it's a dollar fifty
• 38:06
Speaker 3: to ride the bus.
• 38:08
Speaker 12: That's kind of that same, you know, And depending on
• 38:11
Speaker 12: how many times you ride in a day, the cap
• 38:12
Speaker 12: for the day is three fifty. So if you you think,
• 38:15
Speaker 12: if you did three fifty times, we're open twenty seven days.
• 38:19
Speaker 6: We take out Sundays. So you start doing that math.
• 38:21
Speaker 12: And if you just paid every single day, historically you
• 38:24
Speaker 12: could pay over ninety dollars. I'm not a flunked math,
• 38:27
Speaker 12: but ever ninety dollars. But now what we're saying is, hey,
• 38:30
Speaker 12: the monthly pass is fifty dollars. So if you rode
• 38:33
Speaker 12: every single day that krit is open in a month,
• 38:35
Speaker 12: you were essentially, you know, giving us forty extra dollars.
• 38:38
Speaker 12: And we appreciate that, but that's not the way we
• 38:40
Speaker 12: want to do things. We want to make sure that
• 38:41
Speaker 12: we're taking this technology that we're we're asking people to change,
• 38:45
Speaker 12: but we're also saying, hey, it's going to improve your
• 38:47
Speaker 12: lifestyle because that forty dollars can go further. That's, you know,
• 38:51
Speaker 12: something you can reinvest back in your family instead of
• 38:53
Speaker 12: giving it to Karty. Talk about your ridership numbers, Yeah,
• 38:57
Speaker 12: so our ridership numbers. Historically, all of public transit took
• 39:01
Speaker 12: a huge hit during COVID. It's a strange phenomenon. People
• 39:04
Speaker 12: figured out other ways to get to work when either
• 39:07
Speaker 12: service was disrupted. We have a resilient population in West
• 39:10
Speaker 12: Virginians figure a way to get it done, and a
• 39:12
Speaker 12: lot of those individuals who transition to another transit style
• 39:17
Speaker 12: stuck to it. Because we went from about two million
• 39:19
Speaker 12: riders a year, we're a little over one point one
• 39:21
Speaker 12: million now. So that ridership did drop during COVID, and
• 39:25
Speaker 12: we're starting to see it go back up. Some of
• 39:27
Speaker 12: these programs to try to attract new writers maybe who
• 39:30
Speaker 12: haven't historically ridden the bus but will take a KRT
• 39:33
Speaker 12: plus home from somewhere has helped. But it's a real
• 39:36
Speaker 12: challenge to get people to embrace this system and get
• 39:39
Speaker 12: back on the bus.
• 39:41
Speaker 3: What what's the average rider look like? I mean, you know,
• 39:44
Speaker 3: I don't it varies, but I mean the averaging the
• 39:48
Speaker 3: employee that's coming into town. That sort of thing. I mean,
• 39:51
Speaker 3: just just give give to a three average rider, you know,
• 39:55
Speaker 3: I think the great thing.
• 39:56
Speaker 6: And we did a campaign a.
• 39:57
Speaker 12: Few years ago called the Faces of krt U. The
• 40:00
Speaker 12: answer to that question is that they look like all
• 40:02
Speaker 12: of us. You know, you have the gamut of individuals
• 40:04
Speaker 12: who are trying to get to work, They're trying to
• 40:06
Speaker 12: get their kids to school, they're trying to get to
• 40:08
Speaker 12: medical appointments. They that that maybe they're paratransit because they
• 40:13
Speaker 12: have some type of situation that has caused them hardship
• 40:16
Speaker 12: and getting getting around as far as their own vehicles.
• 40:19
  Speaker 6: You name it.
• 40:19
Speaker 12: If you you could look at anyone in Kanah County
• 40:22
Speaker 12: and say, okay, that's someone who rides the bus on
• 40:24
Speaker 12: a daily basis. And we're proud of that because we
• 40:26
Speaker 12: make sure that we maintain a safe, reliable, convenient service
• 40:29
  Speaker 12: for our passengers.
• 40:30
Speaker 6: So it's hard to put a.
• 40:31
Speaker 12: Label on, Hey, this looks like someone who rides the bus, right,
• 40:34
Speaker 12: I got you, I got you, because they're all out there.
• 40:36
Speaker 12: But what we're most proud of is what we kind
• 40:39
Speaker 12: of we connect people to opportunities, what we say, and
• 40:41
Speaker 12: we're getting those people to work. So we want to
• 40:43
Speaker 12: focus on the fact that we're a huge resource for
• 40:46
Speaker 12: the economy in Kanawk County because we are getting.
• 40:48
  Speaker 6: People to work.
• 40:48
Speaker 3: All right, well, let's before we let you go, let's
• 40:51
Speaker 3: let's have you just do a little commercial here for Karaty.
• 40:54
Speaker 3: Why should people use your services?
• 40:55
Speaker 12: Yeah, people should use kart services because we're connecting people
• 40:58
Speaker 12: to opportunity, whether that's getting you to work, whether it's
• 41:00
Speaker 12: getting you to school, medical appointments, grocery stores. We're going
• 41:04
Speaker 12: to get you there, and we're going to do it
• 41:06
Speaker 12: in the most reliable, safe, convenient, affordable way possible. And
• 41:10
Speaker 12: we think we can compete really well with all the
• 41:12
Speaker 12: other options out there. Get on the karts if it's

Speaker 3: we had him on a couples ago. That guy will
• 45:40

• 45:42
Speaker 3: a Marshall person or not. I mean, his enthusiasm is
• 45:46

• 45:51
Speaker 3: to be the guest speaker at this event. Again, they're

Speaker 3: Metro News Midday Coming up at noon today, thirteen News
• 46:11
Speaker 3: in Tonight Live Anchor Amanda Bart and Me powered by
• 46:14
Speaker 3: Selingo Law. Chris Hamilton from the West Virginia Coal Association
• 46:17
Speaker 3: will stop by the Coal Association. I don't want to
• 46:20
Speaker 3: say that they're taking a victory lap right now, but
• 46:22
Speaker 3: they're pretty hopeful about some things for the future as
• 46:26
Speaker 3: it pertains to energy and some rollbacks of some regulations,
• 46:31
Speaker 3: and so mister Hamilton is going to join us to
• 46:33
Speaker 3: talk about that on this show today. There, as I've
• 46:35
Speaker 3: been mentioning throughout the day, a big economic announcement planned
• 46:38
Speaker 3: for Putnam County at ten o'clock this morning. We're going
• 46:41
Speaker 3: to break all that down for you on the show.
• 46:45
Speaker 3: I'm mentioned earlier about this meeting of military minds that's
• 46:49
Speaker 3: going on today in Washington. We're going to get into
• 46:53
Speaker 3: that story a little bit later on, plus more on
• 46:55
Speaker 3: the government shutdown or potential government shutdown. I mean, you
• 47:00
Speaker 3: shut this puppy down as of you know what is
• 47:02
Speaker 3: at midnight tonight. I guess if something is not reached
• 47:06
Speaker 3: some sort of of an agreement and a programming note,
• 47:09
Speaker 3: Senator Shelley Moore Capito is going to be on talk
• 47:12
Speaker 3: Line today with Wilson and Meadows talking about that very
• 47:14
Speaker 3: thing and the difference with this shutdown this time. We've
• 47:21
Speaker 3: had shutdowns in the past and you you well remember that,
• 47:24
Speaker 3: but this one they are saying that if it's shut
• 47:28
Speaker 3: down that some of these jobs are not returning, that
• 47:31
Speaker 3: they're just going to be eliminated. So we're going to
• 47:34
Speaker 3: get into that coming up on the show later today
• 47:36
Speaker 3: as well. Just added to the show touris some secretary
• 47:38
Speaker 3: from the say to West Virginia, Chelsea Ruby, is going
• 47:41
Speaker 3: to join us. They got a big tourism event going
• 47:43
Speaker 3: on in Morgantown and that she is taking a little
• 47:46
Speaker 3: break from the conference up there to join us on
• 47:48
Speaker 3: the show today. Of course, Jeff Jenkins will get us
• 47:50
Speaker 3: caught up on the news, and of course there's always
• 47:52
Speaker 3: open lined West Virginia Metro News Midday with thirteen News
• 47:54
Speaker 3: and Tonight Live anchor Amanda barn and Me coming up
• 47:57
Speaker 3: at noon today powered by a Selango Law on this
• 48:00
Speaker 3: show tomorrow. I told you earlier again it's I've kind
• 48:03
Speaker 3: of been to theme of the day's economic development announcement
• 48:05
Speaker 3: for Putnam County today. We're going to have the people
• 48:08
Speaker 3: on Midday today, but I'm also going to have them
• 48:10
Speaker 3: on the local show tomorrow because once the announcement is
• 48:13
Speaker 3: made at ten this morning, we're going to have to
• 48:16
Speaker 3: go and get workers for these jobs. And so the
• 48:20
Speaker 3: announcement is coming in about five minutes or so at
• 48:24
Speaker 3: an event in Eleanor we're covering at wv Metro News
• 48:26
Speaker 3: dot com. We'll have it on air and online. We'll
• 48:28
Speaker 3: get into it on Metro News Midday today, but tomorrow
• 48:31
Speaker 3: we are going to have those folks on to talk
• 48:32
Speaker 3: about a job fair that they're going to be having
• 48:34
Speaker 3: to try to hire workers for it, So we'll get
• 48:36
Speaker 3: into that on the show tomorrow. Also on the show tomorrow,
• 48:39
Speaker 3: the folks at Goodwill are planning their ninety money Carlo.
• 48:42
Speaker 3: You may have heard the ad running in the show
• 48:43
Speaker 3: a little bit earlier. We're going to get into that
• 48:45
Speaker 3: with them and Delegate and State the Democratic Party Chair
• 48:49
Speaker 3: Mike Pushkin will be on this show tomorrow as well.
• 48:52
Speaker 3: He was on talk Line yesterday and they have another
• 48:54
Speaker 3: one of those kitchen table events happening. I think it's
• 48:57
Speaker 3: tonight in Morgan Town at one of Charleston coming up
• 48:59
Speaker 3: there doing going on over the state on these things.
• 49:01
Speaker 3: But that's going to be talked about. We'll talk about
• 49:06
Speaker 3: how that happened. But also we're going to talk about
• 49:09
Speaker 3: their big Democratic gathering in Charleston that is coming to
• 49:12
Speaker 3: the Saturday night. So that's all coming up on tomorrow's show. Texas,
• 49:16
Speaker 3: why is the government guaranteed money to foreign governments for
• 49:19
Speaker 3: their failing policies. Don't we have homeless veterans who could
• 49:21
Speaker 3: use a guarantee of money. No Argentinian was blown up
