- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Cheers! Hi everyone, welcome back to The Realtor Who Wines.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: I'm so happy to have you here today.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Today is a little bit different than our normal format where I interview a guest.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: I've had a lot of questions lately around social media, and so I thought it'd be nice to do a solo video just giving some tips and tricks to business owners, entrepreneurs around social media.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: So, for those of you that don't know, before I got into real estate, I worked for corporate America.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Um, and I worked in digital marketing, social media marketing.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: I was also an early practitioner.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: I am an elderly millennial, and I have had my Facebook since it was only available to college students.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: That's if that tells you how old I am.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: Um I did have MySpace, all those things, but I've been an early adapter and practitioner and have done a lot of business via social media even before people were like running ads and stuff.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: I saw it as an opportunity to connect and build with your sphere, and that's exactly what it is.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: So to answer a lot of your questions, people that reach out, I do um freelance every now and then to help small businesses in my area, but I really just take those on as like one-on-one projects.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: It's not really the bulk of my business, obviously, real estate is, but I still do help businesses grow all the time.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: So I thought, why not share a few tips and tricks with you?
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: So if you're interested in learning about social media or how to grow in social media, this episode is definitely for you.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Let's dive into it.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: So, first things first, I get asked all the time, do I need social media for my business?
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Especially in real estate.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: A lot of realtors ask me this question Do you can you be a successive, a successive or a successful agent without real estate?
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: There's tons of agents that are successful that don't do a lot on social media.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Um, my messaging isn't you have to have it if you want a big um business.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: My messaging is more around if you're looking for another pillar, if you're trying to figure out how to grow, if you're trying to figure out how to connect, social media is definitely a great avenue for you.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: One of the best parts about it is it can be completely free.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Um, can you pay to have social media ads and things like that?
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: But you don't have to.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: You can have a free social media um, you know, page, uh, multiple pages.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: The whole thing can be free.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: You don't have to pay to play on um the different platforms, although that you can.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: So if you're starting out and you're trying to figure out how to grow and how to connect, um, also social media can be a great way to engage and meet people if you're newer to your area.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: More times than not, um a few episodes back, I was talking to a girlfriend who had moved from another state and got into real estate and she knew nobody.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: So she was trying to figure out how do I grow my business?
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: I don't know anybody, things like that.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: So that is a great way to meet people is through social media.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: The thing I say all the time that I cannot say enough and that we forget is that social media is that it's supposed to be social, it's not supposed to be commercial media, it's not supposed to be look at me media, it's not that it's supposed to be a platform.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: The whole intentionality around social media when it was developed and created was how to connect with people that you don't get to see in everyday life.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: How do you share memories with people?
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: How do you capture those moments and put them in a digital space, right?
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: And so to share.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: So, like if you have friends in a different state or family in a different state, I mean, really at the the beginning of it, social media was created to be a social outlet and a way to engage with people.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: So many people look at it now as like, sell, sell, sell, lead, lead, lead, especially from a business perspective.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: And that doesn't really serve you or your sphere if you approach social media in that way.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: So when you're thinking about your business and you're thinking about growing, don't sit down and think, what can I post to get me leads?
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Instead, sit down and think, what can I post that would serve anyone who's engaged with my platform?
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: What can I post that would help somebody thinking about buying or selling?
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: What would be interesting?
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: What is something like, should I do a local highlight?
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Should I showcase a home?
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Should I talk about the market?
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: Just but think about it more from the receiver standpoint than yourself.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: If you sit down and are only thinking about, I need to sell this, I need to push my business, I need my business to grow, whether you're in real estate or not.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Let's say you have a candle store.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: And if you're just like, how do I sell more candles?
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: If all your content is around buy this candle, buy this candle, buy this candle, no one's gonna listen to you, right?
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: They're not gonna engage with you, they're not gonna feel rapport with you.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: But if you talk about the behind the scenes, everybody loves behind the scenes.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: They're really curious what goes on.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Like, what made you want to become a candle maker?
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: What made you, and maybe you're not the candle maker?
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Well, what made you wanted to get into candles?
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: What is it about candles that you love so much?
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: What is it about candles you want to share?
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Those types of posts provide more value and context than just 20% off.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Buy two candles, 20% off.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: So think about that when you're thinking about social media and what you want to post and um what kind of content you want to put out there.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: A lot of times people will say to me, like, I'm not dancing, I'm not doing something silly, I don't want to mouth over a movie dialogue.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: That's okay too.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: You don't have to post that kind of content to still create relationships and build rapport with whoever's on the other end of the screen that's looking at what you're putting out there.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Um so just think about that.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: Have the person in mind that you're posting for, and that person should not be you unless you are solely just like, this was such a great day.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: I'm documenting this day for myself.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Like when we post vacations or something, we're not always thinking about who's watching it.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: A lot of times when I personally post that kind of stuff, like my daughter and I at Disneyland, I'm posting that.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: So it's a memory for us, it's a way for me to capture those moments, um, especially because we don't really have photo albums as much as we used to.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Everything's so digital.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: So for me, I sometimes use my personal social media as well as like just a way to document memories.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Um, so I don't always have the other person in mind when I'm posting those, but specifically around business posts, you should think about who you're trying to speak to.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: Are you a first-time home buyer?
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: You don't need to be perfect, you don't have to have perfect credit or a giant down payment.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: You just need a plan and someone that understands the business and how to navigate it.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: Please reach out.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: I would love to help you on this home journey.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: When it comes to social media, one thing I get asked all the time is how often should I post?
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: What should I be posting?
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: And I use this analogy a lot because just most people can understand it and relate to it.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Think about social media marketing like going to the gym.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: I wish beyond belief that we could walk into the gym once a month and walk out with the body we want, right?
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: But that's just not the case.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: We understand that if we want to build muscle or lose fat or maintain that consistency is everything, and social media marketing is exactly the same.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: You cannot just show up to Facebook, post one time, and then let a month go by and then wonder why like no one's connecting with you or no one's engaging with your um page or you know, paying attention to you.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: Just like the gym, the more time you put in the gym, the better your results are.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Also, what kind of work are you doing while you're in the gym?
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: If you just walked into the gym and all you did was go to the locker room and then walk right out, you're not gonna get any results with that either, right?
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: We know that.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: So it's the same, like you can't just log into Instagram and then scroll for a little bit and log out and think that was like engaging social media content or marketing.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: You also can't just like log into Instagram, post, and log out and expect the algorithm to reward that type of behavior.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: So, like the gym, consistency is key, discipline is key, and being strategic on what you're doing while you're at the gym is key.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: And social media marketing is exactly the same.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: You want to think about it as like, what am I posting?
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: How often am I posting?
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: And then am I consistent?
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: But a big aspect that everybody forgets or doesn't pay attention to, and kind of what I already talked about earlier, is the social part of social media, is if you just post and ghost, like and that's posting something and leaving the platform, you're not being social on social media, and the algorithm doesn't reward that.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: So it's better if you also engage on the platform, and sometimes we can't do it at the same time.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: So sometimes you can maybe while you're having coffee um scroll and comment on people's photos and engage with people, and then over lunch you post a post something that's still telling that platform that you actively participate in the platform, you're not just scrolling and doing nothing, like not engaging or not participating or not posting.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: The algorithms like to reward activity.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: So the more active you are, even if it is, and you can't just be hitting the like button all the time.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: It already kind of sees that a little bit spammy if it's not followed up with some other activities.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: So if all you do is go on social media and just hit like, like, like, like, like, the algorithm's like, I see you, it's not working, pal.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: Don't do that.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: But if you're like, like, that looks so fun, what a great vacation, like you comment something on the post as well, um, the algorithm really likes that and rewards that.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: Something a lot of people don't realize is I'm just gonna use Facebook as an example.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: A lot of the algorithms for the different platforms are pretty similar, but how does Facebook decide to show your post to people?
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: So let's say you have a hundred friends on Facebook.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: Facebook takes 10% of your 100 friends and only shows it to that 10%.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: And how they choose that 10%, because Facebook also has to put ads in front of you because people are paying to be there, right?
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: Put some other suggestions in front of you, um, like a trending video, because they think, well, maybe you might also find it engaging and might enjoy following that person.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: So how they figure out how to fill your feed with your 10% is who are you tagged in pictures with the most?
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: Who do you comment on pictures with the most or engage with?
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Who engages with you?
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: And that's why, even though let's say you have a hundred friends, you might only see your spouse, your cinematic other, your kids, your parents, your grandparents, your siblings, because you're tagged in photos with them a lot, your best friends.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Um, so Facebook is showing you just the people that you participate with the most.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: So it's really important to be social and social media to mix up the algorithm.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: So I personally will go into my uh my friends page and uh or my friends section on my page and scroll through my friends, like, oh, I haven't talked to Jasmine in forever.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: I wonder what she's up to.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: I'll click on her profile, see if she's posted anything recently that I can re-engage with her on.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: And let's say she just posted about her girls being flower girls in a wedding, and I could comment, like, oh my gosh, they're so adorable, which they are, Jasmine.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: And like, you know, engage with her that way just so then Jasmine one knows I still remember and think about her.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: But now Facebook also knows.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: So the next time I post something, regardless if it's business related or not, they might share it with Jasmine because they say, Oh, Rochelle and Jasmine are actually still friends.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: They talk every now and then.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: So let's show Jasmine this picture of Rochelle and see if she engages with it.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: And that's how you kind of re-treck the algorithm to incorporate your whole sphere instead of just the 10% that you see all the time that's in your daily life.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Another thing that I get asked a lot around social media specifically, especially entrepreneurs that um are trying to put themselves out there is I don't like how I sound, I don't like how I look, I don't want to be in front of the camera.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: And what I tell them and what I can tell you is you're not alone.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Very rarely is someone like, ooh, I look good on camera.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Hello.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Every time I post a podcast, I'm like, well, okay, and I still post it, right?
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: But I'm not like, yeah, I look good today.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, I love how I sound.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: Nobody does.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Not well, there might be a few out there that think that, but we won't talk about them.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: 99% of people though are not like, I look great.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: That's also why a lot of like think about even actors, right?
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: When you hear them in interviews, they'll say, Oh, I've never watched anything I've ever been in, because they don't look, they don't like how they look and they don't like how they sound.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: So you're not alone.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: The point is like, do it anyways.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Like, if a client, I say this a lot to realtors, but it really pertains to any business.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: If a client called you today and said, Hey, I would like to talk to you about selling my house, would you say, Oh, I don't really like how I look today, or I don't really like how I sound today?
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: Um, do you mind if I lose 15 pounds and then I'll come to your house and talk to you about selling your house?
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: No, you would never.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: You'd be like, Great, I would be happy to come talk to you about your house.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: And you would make an appointment and you would go.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: So I think we just overthink it too much when we put a camera there.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Also, like, it's not a secret how we look, how we look, and we sound like we sound.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: We're not fooling anybody.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: People still see us day to day all the time.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: So I say just embrace it.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: Everybody wants to change something about themselves, everybody wants to lose five to ten pounds, people want to wait until they get their hair done.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: You are who you are, embrace it.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: And if you wouldn't tell a client, no, I'm not gonna meet you, then you shouldn't stop yourself from getting on the camera.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: And to be honest, today, what builds relationships and rapport the most on social media is being authentic and genuine.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: Like people can connect to it and relate to it.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: If you're too polished on camera, if it's too commercially, it comes across as like fake and people don't always believe it.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: Or they might be like, oh, that's nice, but they'll keep scrolling.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: But it's a little bit different if you just show up as yourself.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Um, I saw a post actually yesterday that I couldn't relate to more, um, because this has been a really interesting emotional real estate market.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: We're currently filming in August of 26, um, where buyers are really stressed out, sellers are really stressed out.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of heightened emotions.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: And I saw a realtor post the other day crying in her car, and her post was if you ever wanted a job where people just yell at you all the time over things that are out of your control, you should get into real estate.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: And then she had to like gather herself and then like turn the video off.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: But it does show one behind the scenes like, should we all get on the camera boohooing?
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: No, that's not the message we're trying to send all the time.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: But I couldn't relate to her more as a real estate agent.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: So I sent her a message and was like, girl, I feel you, this market is not for the week.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: Hang in there, you got this.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: But I bet she got a ton of engagement.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: And the next time she posts something more positive or on a higher note, the algorithm's going to show it to a lot of people because so many people engaged with that post, but it made her human.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: And it also reminds people like when you're a business owner, sometimes people forget you are a person because you are also the business, and so they want a certain thing from the business, and sometimes we just have to remind them, like, hey, I'm a person too, and I don't want to get cussed out over something that is not my fault, you know, or even sometimes if it is my fault, I am human, sorry, you know.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: So it's just being genuine and authentic and posting something people can relate to.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: That is why I a lot of people ask me, and this suggestion isn't for everybody.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: If you do have a brick and mortar, a true um like business where you're selling a commodity or goods and stuff, you probably do want a business profile.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: However, for a lot of us entrepreneurs and stuff and real estate agents, we are in the relationship business.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: We sell homes, but like it's through relationships that we build with people.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: And people cannot connect with a business if they can't connect with the person behind the business.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: So I'm still a firm believer, even if you have a business page, show your staff.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Let your staff engage with your audience, show yourself, show the behind the scenes so that people can relate to you.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: That's why, like on my Instagram at Realtor Rochelle or even the Realtor Who Wines, I still have stuff about me out and about with my girlfriends or me out at the wineries or me at Disney with my daughter because I am a person and I want people to know me outside of real estate as well as in real estate.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: So when we are doing a transaction together and you call me at 8 p.m.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: and I don't answer because I'm putting Ryland to bed, when I call you back, like, hey, sorry, I was putting Ryland to bed, you already have a connection with Ryland too, because you've been watching her do things on social media and you're like, oh yeah, no problem.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: But if you don't know anything about me or my kid, that's just an excuse to you.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't care.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Like, I need your help.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Answer the phone, you know.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: So it just really does help build relationships and rapports.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: And in our business, it keeps people mindful that we are moms, we are wives, we are girlfriends, we are daughters, we are sisters, we are brothers, we're dads, we're all the things, right?
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: So sometimes it's just a nice friendly reminder that we're people too, and then we can engage with people as well.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: Also, when you share things like being a Disney adult or loving wine or enjoying an old fashioned or like thrift shopping or audiobooks or any of those kinds of things, that gives reasons for people to engage with you outside of your business.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: That just helps continue to build relationships.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: I love being a resource in general.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: That's just something that fills my cup, whether it's a real estate resource for you, or I'm planning my trip to Disneyland.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: I've never taken kids under five to Disneyland, I've never taken teenagers to Disneyland.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Like I love getting all those calls.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: My sister's coming to visit from Ohio and she likes sweeter wines, and we live in Pinot Noir country.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Which wineries would you take her to that's not so Pinot heavy?
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: I love being that person that you call for that.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Hey, I have kids under 10.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: What are the best parks to go to?
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: I just like being a resource in general.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: So that's why I love sharing my hobbies too, because then I can just let you know if you needed any guidance or help in other areas, you can reach out to me in that way.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: And that's a way you could build your business as well is by sharing a connection with your sphere on something that you already love and care about.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: It's fun to talk about the things that we love, right?
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Including our business.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: So just something to think about when you're building your social media content calendar on what type of posts you want to do.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: Don't forget to be personal, genuine, and authentic and show the real side of you.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: When you're ready to make a move, make it with someone who knows the market and truly cares about your home journey.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: I would be honored to help you each step of the way.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: Reach out now and let's start your strategic plan and the next move for you.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: So, as I mentioned, a lot of people are timid to get in front of the camera.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Um, and that's okay.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: You don't always have to be in front of the camera to be posting good content.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: One thing that frustrates me is when I see a business owner post something that looks like a flyer.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: Like most people, especially on know the platform you're on to.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: Like sometimes content isn't meant for each platform.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: So like something you create for LinkedIn might not make sense on Instagram or Facebook or something you make on TikTok might not make sense for LinkedIn.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: You know, like you can't always just make one piece of content and post it everywhere.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you can, but just be mindful of whatever platform you're on, um, what you're posting and think about that.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: Instagram, uh people go to Instagram to look at photos and videos, not to read.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: That's not, they'll read the captions if the photo or video is interesting enough, but in general, their mindset is to go there.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: Instagram actually got its name, a lot of people don't know this, for being Insta.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: It was supposed to be like in the moment, not overthought.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Like this is right, it's happening right now, Instagram.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: And so the whole purpose originally behind Instagram was to show what you were doing in the moment as it was happening.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: Well, it's gotten away from that a little bit, which is fine.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: You know, things grow and um turn into something else, but that was its original thought behind it.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: So don't overthink it too much.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Sometimes just post like what you're doing.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: Like I said, people love seeing behind the scenes.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: And I think sometimes we think like, well, installing a for sale sign isn't very exciting.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: Some people might be curious to know how many agents actually put in the signs themselves and don't hire a company to do it.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Or I know I'm not alone and mowing a listings yard or pooling weeds or dropping off flower hanging baskets so that the house looks different and a little bit cheerful for picture day.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: Like, agents do a lot of stuff behind the scenes versus just opening doors and hiring a photographer to sell your house.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: There's a lot more like strategic thoughts.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: That goes behind it for most agents.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: We're not all created equal, just like in any industry.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: But that stuff is interesting.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: And again, if you have the person in mind when you're posting it, instead of just boosting like I mow lawns, you could say, Hey, did you know having fresh cut grass and listing photos helps your listing be received by buyers better than even if it was a little bit long versus a lot long, you know, things like that.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: You could turn the post into a knowledge, like providing information versus just being like, Well, if you hire me, I'll mow your lawn, which by the way, most of you don't want me to mow your lawn.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: That's like a that's like a no pinch situation.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: And normally I ask for help.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: But not a good lawnmower.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: But just using it as an example is that like showing those kinds of things, it's genuine, it's authentic, and it is in the moment.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: So don't be um scared to share that.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: But if you don't want to share your face and that exact example, show the lawnmower, show the lawn mode or do a before and after picture to also showcase what you're saying, like a fresh cut lawn showcases better for a listing photo versus not.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: So just things like that.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Like there's a ton of content you can post without ever showing your face.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: However, if you are in a business like mine where relationship is everything, because there's gotta be, I mean, buying and selling a house is one of the most big financial decisions somebody will make, right?
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: Outside of like, who are you gonna marry?
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: Buying a house is like a really big decision and it's also a ton of money.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: So you want to trust the people that are guiding you through that process.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: And you can't trust me if you've never seen my face.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: So for me personally, if it takes a while for you to get there to show your face on social media, that's okay, baby steps.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: But I would challenge you to have the goal to eventually have your face on social media at least a little bit because you are trying to build trust with clients and they like to do it with people, not just pictures of the things that you're doing or the things that you're selling.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: So just something to keep in mind.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Everybody likes a story about the person behind the business, everyone finds that interesting.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: So, um, and they want to know who they're doing business with and who they're supporting.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: So just think about that.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: I understand if you're like, ooh, that's terrifying, I really don't want to get in front of the camera.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: You don't have to today.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: But how and what can you be doing to get up the courage to do it?
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: And sometimes it's being in a video with somebody else.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: Like maybe don't do it solo right away.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Have somebody in the video with you.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Have some of your employees with you.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: If you don't have employees, have one of your clients with you.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: If you don't have a client, just have a friend with you.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: They don't movie magic, you guys.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: The whole world doesn't have to know if that's really your client or not.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: And if they're your friend, they probably are your client, anyways, right?
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: But have somebody that you trust to like get your toes wet and to get out there and get in front of the camera.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: And just don't hesitate.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of tools out there, a lot of classes and things.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: If you want to send me a DM or reach out to me at Realtor Rochelle or the Realtor Who Wines or on YouTube, you can comment.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: I'm happy to send you some resources, different classes that you can look into.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Um, there's a lot of ways to educate you in that area and how to grow or how to use Canva or CapCut.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: There's just like so many tools out there that'll really help you.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: Um, but again, I'd love to be a resource for you, even in that way.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: So don't hesitate to reach out.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: I hope that these tips helped you and gave you a little bit of encouragement to go out there and try it.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: And just remember, we all start with not very many people paying attention.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: So if your first video is rough, it's okay.
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: There, you're not gonna have a hundred thousand people watching it.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: You might have your mom and your grandma tuning in the first time anyway.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: So just put it out there and see what happens.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: And I hope that you enjoy getting social on social media, and I will see you on the next episode.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: Cheers!
