- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Today I'm going to be talking about how you can turn your one-to-one offer into a profitable online course that sells on repeat because maybe that you are at a stage in your business where you're thinking about automating your services, or perhaps you are wanting to start creating passive revenue for yourself, or maybe you're just ready to take your business to that next level so that you can scale and take your business forward.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Whatever your reason, whatever stage you're currently at, the one thing you can be sure is that creating a ready-to-go offer in your business is a smart move because it means that you can make sales when you're not working, which means money in the bank.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Now, I've recently had a conversation with a business colleague regarding this, which is why I've decided to talk about this today.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Because it's not always obvious to know how to turn what you currently offer into something that you can sell on repeat without you having to be there to deliver it in person.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Now, I think when we start out in business, it's really easy to fall into that trap thinking that our businesses can only really survive if we're there to deliver the service in person, especially if you are a solopreneur running your business on your own.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: It's a really tall order to do everything that is required in your business and then to go and generate sales as well, and it's exhausting, which is why so many entrepreneurs experience burnout, and I very much include myself in that as well.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Now, speaking from experience, burnout is awful, and it often happens when we're just trying to do far too much all of the time, and we're not doing what we need to do to look after ourselves.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: I think most entrepreneurs are incredibly passionate about the work that they do, which is why they do it, but maybe they don't prioritize their own needs instead, stretching themselves way too thinly most of the time.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I think when you're driven by a purpose and a strong desire to support other people, it's very common and very easy to forget about your own self-care.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: But it's super essential if you want to create longevity in your business and more importantly, be sound of mind to run your business.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Now, as a mum of two girls, what I've learned is that running a business is not too dissimilar to raising children.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: When you first start out in business, you want to give it the best possible start, and so if you care for it and you nurture it by laying strong foundations.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Now, this could be in the way of creating a compelling brand that attracts your ideal customer, or it could be in the form of building effective marketing tools like a website to showcase and position your business.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Now, all of these activities not only help you to essentially communicate your core message, but they also enable you to express yourself and your business in the right way.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Now, as your business then starts to grow, you then start to build in effective systems and processes so that you can start making areas of your business automated so that you're not having to do everything yourself all of the time, which then gives you time back.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Once you start getting your time back, you can then start investing time into areas of your business that support your business's growth, and that which brings in more revenue, like creating low-cost but high-value offers that can be sold on repeat.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Now, this not only starts to increase your revenue, but it also builds strength into your business model.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Now, all the while you're at the helm of your business driving it forward by solely delivering one-to-one services, everything is on you.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: So if you go sick, then your business is most likely going to come to an abrupt halt because you're not going to be there to move it forward.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: But if you start creating automated offers that you can sell on repeat when you're not around, then even if you are unable to be present in your business, because God forbid something happens in your personal life that prevents you from being available, you can then still make money and keep the lights on in your business.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Now, COVID was the perfect example for this because it threw everything that we knew into chaos.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: So many businesses were financially affected because they couldn't continue to deliver their one-to-one services due to them having to be reliant on being there to see their clients in person.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Now it was such a scary time for so many business owners, but what it did show us, or what it did prove, is that we needed to invest in our business in a way that brings um that makes it robust and builds in strength and resilience.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: We need to stop treating our businesses like they're our babies because all the while we do this, we're not going to be encouraging it to grow.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: We are suppressing its growth by holding it back because we're being too attached.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: It's exactly the same with children.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: However much I want to keep my girls' babies, I can't.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: I have to give them room to grow so they can figure out for themselves and be who they are without being held back.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: And I feel we need to do exactly the same with our businesses, we need to detach ourselves in a way that gives our businesses room to grow and flourish because then we can start yielding the results that we actually want to achieve.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: So, how do we do this?
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: How can we create businesses that work for us and not the other way around?
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: And I think one of the ways of achieving this is by having different offers available on the table.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Now, as I said earlier, all the while your business is relying on you to keep it moving, you're going to be chained to your business.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Taking time off to enjoy much-needed family holidays will prove difficult because it means that you could lose money.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Actually, what you want to be working towards is creating a business that affords you the freedom to go off on holiday without having to worry about money.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: Now, I know right now this must seem like a really tall order, but it's not.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: It is possible, but you just have to want it to make it happen.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: So, what I want you to start thinking about is what can you create in your business today that you could sell without you having to be there in person to deliver it.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: Now, I don't want you to get too caught up in the how because the how will come later.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: If you think about the how too much, it will actually stop you from thinking about this, letting known doing anything about it, because you'll just focus on all the obstacles and not the possibilities.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: So I want you to start thinking about what you are currently delivering in your one-to-one service that could be automated.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Is there something that you're currently delivering to your clients in person that could be recorded?
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: For example, do you deliver a specific training or workshop that could be turned into a pre-recorded workshop?
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Is this something that you can sell instead of your time?
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: And do you actually need to be there in person to deliver it?
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Now, if the answer is yes, then I would challenge you on this.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I would ask you to ask yourself why.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Is this coming from a place of ego where you think that it's only good enough if you are there to deliver it in person, or maybe if you don't, if you're not there to deliver it, it won't be as good or as effective.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Or is it because there's a specific component of the process that requires timely input or one-to-one engagement?
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Now, if that is the case, then perhaps you could create a hybrid version where your customers could purchase the basic training from you, then perhaps there's an upsell offer where you could then bolt on a more one-to-one piece.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: So that could be in the form of a coaching session or a mastermind or a or an accountability group.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: So there is a one-to-one piece to that offer.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Now, one of the things that I love about creating ready-to-go offers is that you can be really strategic with them.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: It doesn't just have to be one thing, you can create many things from just one offer.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: It's all about being intentional with your content, your time, and most importantly, your energy.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: So once you've identified what service to automate, then you need to work out the process that you use to achieve results.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Now, can you create a clear pathway that will move your clients or customers towards a specific result?
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: And can this pathway be broken down into five, six, seven, or even eight steps?
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: And if so, what does that look like?
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Now your online course must have a clear starting point and a clear end point, and the overall goal is to get your clients from the start point to the end point in the most quickest and efficient way possible.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: So it's really important that you outline a step-by-step process that will help them to get to where they need to be.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Now, this step-by-step process will then become the foundation of your online course.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: Now, you don't have to create an extensive online course as your first ready-to-go offer.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: In fact, I would actually advise against it.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Even if you're interested in creating an online course later, I would actually recommend that you start with creating something really small so that you can get comfortable and confident with creating a digital offer, especially if you've never done this before.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: You want something that is small and easy to begin with because this is going to help build your confidence and you'll start to learn what is actually involved.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: It's a very different world operating in the online space than it is delivering services in a one-to-one environment.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: So this way, by starting small and building up, you can start to get comfortable with the online space.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: It also gives you something that you can get done in a short space of time.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Now, to begin with, just recording short masterclasses could be a very simple offer that you can provide your customers or even use to attract new customers with.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: What is the one thing that your clients or customers come to you for help for at the moment?
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: If you can really pinpoint that, then it gives you a really good place to start.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: And what solution are they wanting?
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: So, what do what are those results looking like?
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: And how can you lead them to those results with a really clear pathway that gets them from point A to point B.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Now, once you know this, then you can start thinking about the content that you could create to bring this together.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: One of my clients created a really short course on how to take really effective photos for Instagram.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Now, this course was born out of a really popular and well-attended workshop that she delivered on a regular basis.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: But she realized that the workshop itself was taking a lot of time to deliver and to prepare for.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Start by focusing on creating a small masterclass that provides tons and tons of value and then build from there.
