- 0:28after a two -day free trial. But we took a break.
- 1:00Oh, yeah, that's right. And also not really too
- 1:03much is going on. Admittedly, I have no idea
- 1:06what we're gonna talk about today. So we're just
- 1:09gonna wait. And you know, it's not the first
- 1:12time. Sometimes I like to lead the audience on
- 1:16to thinking that I have it all figured out. I
- 1:19don't know if you guys ever picked that up by
- 1:21me. But I don't. So I don't know. I think all
- 1:30the ESPN notifications I've been getting for
- 1:33the past two weeks have been tennis related or
- 1:37World Series of poker related. I keep getting
- 1:41some of those as of the past few days. So like,
- 1:46I don't really know. I mean, I guess we didn't
- 1:47talk about LeBron going to Philadelphia. I guess
- 1:50we could talk about that, but I guess I'm getting
- 1:52ahead of myself here. Chris, how are you since
- 1:56the last time? Doing good. It's been a while.
- 1:59I haven't seen y 'all boys in a while. Well,
- 2:04we can talk about one thing. MOB trade deadline
- 2:07was Monday night or Monday evening. The Dodgers
- 2:11have once again ruined baseball. They've ruined
- 2:14the rest of this season. They've ruined next
- 2:17season because we're probably not going to get
- 2:19a season because of them. So yeah, the Dodgers
- 2:23are... I've seen many tweets comparing them to
- 2:29the Nazis. And I gotta say, I don't fully disagree
- 2:35with that sentiment. So yes, other than that,
- 2:39doing well. It's just, yeah, summers are gonna
- 2:42suck for at least the next year and a half. So
- 2:45that's fun. Sean, how you doing? I'm doing well.
- 2:51I did get a lot of ESPN alerts about the MLB
- 2:54trade deadline. And from the chatter I've seen
- 2:59on Twitter, I guess we're just going to jump
- 3:02right into it. But the chatter that I've seen
- 3:05on Twitter is like, no other team really cares
- 3:09other than the Dodgers, or there's just really
- 3:14no hope of beating the Dodgers. I mean, it's
- 3:19a statement. Factually correct or yeah, I will
- 3:23say it is not the Dodgers fault like they have
- 3:28Heaps and heaps of money and they are allowed
- 3:31to spend it with impunity I blame more of what
- 3:35we can get into this later. This the latest trade
- 3:38for Tariq scubal who is was like the hottest
- 3:42really the only big name like Acquisition at
- 3:47the trade deadline. It's just the best starting
- 3:51pitcher in baseball, going to the best team in
- 3:54baseball who already has the best rotation in
- 3:58baseball. It's like, yeah, that's, I mean, I
- 4:01looked at FanDuel before we started. The Dodgers
- 4:03are currently plus 160 to win the world series.
- 4:06For reference, the Colorado Rockies tonight on
- 4:10Monday to beat the Tampa Bay Rays are plus 155.
- 4:15So the Dodgers have a slightly longer shot to
- 4:21win the world series as the Colorado Rockies
- 4:23do to win a baseball game tonight. In August.
- 4:28Yeah, it's the worst. But we've seen the Dodgers
- 4:34choke before with very good teams, really praying
- 4:38we get that again. But I mean, this, when this
- 4:41rotation is fully healthy, I mean, they have
- 4:43Shohei Otani, they have Scoobal, they have Tyler
- 4:46Glass now, they have Blake Snell, they have Yoshibu
- 4:49Yamamoto. I mean, those are arguably the five
- 4:52best pitchers in baseball and they're all on
- 4:54the same fucking team. It's just, it's not fair.
- 5:01It's shocking that the teams who do have heaps
- 5:06of money to spend your Mets, your Yankees, your
- 5:09Red Sox just aren't really doing anything or
- 5:13did nothing at the deadline. Um, Red Sox got
- 5:17Adley Regman from the Orioles, who's a fine catcher.
- 5:21Um, not exactly like a big splash, but, uh, the
- 5:25Mets, I guess you could say they do spend a lot
- 5:27of money. They just still in Mets fashion, lose
- 5:30lots of baseball games. That's good to know.
- 5:33Some things will never change, but yeah, it's
- 5:36just sucks. Um, yeah, Dodgers are, this is like,
- 5:41it was like the Yankees of the late 2000s who
- 5:43were just like, except that when the Yankees
- 5:46didn't free agency, they were just like, Hey,
- 5:48a rod Hey, Mark, share Hey, every good free agent,
- 5:51here's a blank check, come play baseball for
- 5:53us. That's what their daughters are doing now.
- 5:55And it just sucks. I have to see it twice in
- 5:57my lifetime with two different teams. Who is
- 6:00this? The Scooby guy? Who did he play for? He
- 6:04played for the Tigers. He's two time defending
- 6:07Cy Young winner. At least one. He I think he
- 6:11won last year. I can't remember if he won the
- 6:12year before. But He's been hurt this year, but
- 6:17when he's healthy, he is probably the top three
- 6:21pitcher in baseball. He was going to be a free
- 6:25agent in the off season. I think he told the
- 6:29Tigers, I don't know if he said he wasn't like
- 6:33just flat out wasn't going to resign, but he
- 6:35was very, I think, open about like, I'm probably
- 6:39going to sign with the Dodgers in the off season
- 6:41because that's just what players do nowadays.
- 6:45So I think the Tigers are like, well, okay, we're
- 6:48just going to only trade him for like three prospects,
- 6:50though, which I think is bad. But yeah, it's
- 6:55just, it sucks. I've never heard of this guy
- 7:00before today. Very, very good pitcher. Okay,
- 7:05he is two time. Yeah, two times. I also didn't
- 7:09know that the NL and AL split. Yeah. They've
- 7:15always done that. They've always done that because
- 7:17something new every day. Yeah. They've all, I
- 7:19mean, in today's day, it doesn't really make
- 7:22too much sense because it's the same game. Like
- 7:26back in the day, AL and NL, you didn't like really
- 7:30up until like, I think it was like the late 90s
- 7:32or in the 90s. I don't remember when exactly.
- 7:34AL and NL never played. So the only time like
- 7:37two teams would play each other would be the
- 7:39World Series. So, and that's why it was like,
- 7:42okay, these are two just different leagues. Like
- 7:45they're playing like it's the same sport, but
- 7:48they are two different leagues of baseball. And
- 7:51then they had different rules. The NL for the
- 7:52longest time, didn't have a designated hitter.
- 7:55The American league did. They've gone away with
- 7:58that. I mean, and now everyone plays everyone
- 8:01at least once. Um, obviously the universal DH
- 8:04it's the same now. You could probably argue that
- 8:08they should. or shouldn't have separate awards
- 8:11but baseball it drags their feet on change on
- 8:16it on pretty much everything so that probably
- 8:19won't happen anytime soon yeah but yeah i don't
- 8:23know i think it's kind of fun like something
- 8:25unique to baseball true yeah baseball is ruled
- 8:31by a bunch of old heads yeah they have changed
- 8:34a lot in the last five years, it's kind of surprising.
- 8:38It's sort of like the NCAA where it's like, we're
- 8:40not going to change anything we do ever. And
- 8:44then it was sort of all at once. Okay, let's
- 8:46change everything. Let's ruin everything with
- 8:52money. Yes, but it's different instead of playing
- 8:55baseball, but baseball is more just rule changes
- 8:57and everything. But yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I saw something
- 9:06on Twitter about the trade deadline, but I don't
- 9:09follow baseball, so I didn't know any of the
- 9:11names. There weren't too many like, I guess a
- 9:14school was the biggest one. Obviously, Adley
- 9:16Rushman, Orioles catcher to the Red Sox was kind
- 9:21of a big deal. He was like the number one overall
- 9:23pick. Like six, seven years ago. I don't. So
- 9:31she's kind of shocking to see him. I mean, yeah,
- 9:36it was a pretty boring deadline. Just from a
- 9:39Reds fan's perspective, every Reds fan thought,
- 9:43hey, we're going to be sellers. We're going to
- 9:45get rid of anyone other than the young few guys
- 9:50we got. Let's just punt on this season. Look
- 9:52forward to the future. We traded two guys, Nathaniel
- 9:56Lowe, who's on a one -year deal. He got traded
- 9:59to the Guardians for some 19 -year -old pitching
- 10:01prospect. And then... which some terrible, terrible
- 10:05reliever got traded to the Cardinals for, I don't
- 10:07even know who. So we did dick all. And it's like,
- 10:11okay, well, this, we're not going to, we're not
- 10:15going to do anything. We're not going to make
- 10:17the postseason this year. And we're not going
- 10:20to do anything to better our future. That's fun.
- 10:23So we're just going to be doomed to mediocrity
- 10:26at best for years to come, which I mean, that's,
- 10:29that's red space. I mean, what that it's what
- 10:32I'm also going to do in the summer. Not much
- 10:37else. Well, next year, we're not going to have
- 10:39baseball because the CBA is up after this year
- 10:43and that the two sides are as far apart as I've
- 10:47ever seen in CBA negotiations. So there's not
- 10:54going to be baseball next year. So it doesn't
- 10:55even matter. Do you know? what they are trying
- 11:00to agree on. Well, the big one is why I say Dodgers
- 11:03ruined it for next year, too, is players. Yeah,
- 11:07the players want a salary cap and the baseball
- 11:11infamously, I guess you could say is the only
- 11:14sport left, at least in America that doesn't
- 11:17have a salary cap, which allows the Dodgers to
- 11:19spend billions and billions of dollars to get
- 11:22whoever they want. And it's like, yes, that sucks.
- 11:28But I think what needs and this is like something
- 11:31I think they are also arguing is they want a
- 11:34salary floor which will have teams like the Reds
- 11:38the Pirates the like the perennial just losers
- 11:42Baseball is like hey, you have to spend a certain
- 11:45amount of money to you know Try to win baseball
- 11:49games. It's a revolutionary concept. But of course
- 11:53owners don't want either of those things because
- 11:55it just keeps the mega powers from accumulating
- 12:01unlimited talent and it keeps the greedy owners
- 12:04from spending money. So that's not going to happen.
- 12:11They have a bunch of other like a list of arguments,
- 12:15but that is the main one is the salary cap slash
- 12:18salary floor and the Dodgers ruined it. So no
- 12:21baseball next year. What are we gonna do? I don't
- 12:29know. Go outside. It's hot. I don't even watch
- 12:33baseball. I still don't even go outside. I have
- 12:39to start watching Korean baseball again. It's
- 12:41gonna be like the pandemic. Gotta get it somehow.
- 12:47Ah, pandemic. What a great time. Missed parts
- 12:52of it every day. Parts of it. I missed the majority
- 12:57of it It's a shame for all those people it was
- 13:06a shame for all those people who died but for
- 13:07us pretty tight I was gonna ask like a I Guess
- 13:18this is kind of like a philosophical baseball
- 13:21question if you were a Dodgers fan Right and
- 13:26you just knew that you had You know hundreds
- 13:31of millions of dollars to just throw at these
- 13:34players and you know, you have the best team
- 13:37in the MLB and you win World Series after World
- 13:41Series like Is there a part of you that is like?
- 13:47This is kind of cheating like this like like
- 13:50realistically like Compared to other sports like
- 13:53this isn't fair like if if you asked me like
- 13:58in like a moral sense I guess like yeah probably
- 14:01deep down. I'm like, yeah I want it. It's I would
- 14:05say it's cheating but it is very much like we
- 14:07are Gaming the system. I guess you could say
- 14:11in a way, right? But as a fan, I just say fuck
- 14:14you Like like as a fan I'd be like fuck you know,
- 14:20like yeah It's allowed. It's the rules. Like,
- 14:24what are we gonna do? Not follow the rules? Like,
- 14:26you know, so, but... They're not breaking any
- 14:30rules. I know. Yeah. But like, I think there
- 14:35would be something deep, deep, and deep within
- 14:40me that would just be like, man, these other
- 14:44teams just don't stand a chance. Like... I'd
- 14:48probably do that after a couple. of championships
- 14:50well they are back -to -back world series champions
- 14:54oh i do uh think it's ironic that the team in
- 15:00los angeles where they have a bunch of these
- 15:03hippie dippy liberals being all anti -monopoly
- 15:07like down with the system and then they just
- 15:10go to dodger games and root for the biggest monopoly
- 15:13and sport Almost. Aside from like some, like
- 15:18European soccer teams. FIFA. Yeah. It's like,
- 15:23hmm, funny how you've turned your back on those
- 15:26morals, but whatever. Yeah. You know what? That
- 15:30is a very good point. Yeah. Whatever. It's something
- 15:38to ponder over. But everyone's playing by the
- 15:42same rules. It's like, in fact, this is almost
- 15:45well it's not like fairness is a is a weird I
- 15:51almost said it's like more fair than not having
- 15:55a salary cap it's not because not every team
- 15:59makes that makes you know similar amounts of
- 16:03money but also it is the same rules and I would
- 16:07say it's probably more fair from like a standpoint
- 16:12of like some professional franchises benefit
- 16:18just because of where they are located. Like
- 16:22in Tennessee, no state tax. In Texas, no state
- 16:27tax. And so those sports teams based there kind
- 16:34of have a little bit of wiggle room when they're
- 16:36paying players because so much of it won't be
- 16:40taken out in taxes. But also to my point I Feel
- 16:47like this does make I don't know if it eliminates
- 16:49it But it it creates a little bit more fairness
- 16:52does I don't know am I talking out of my ass?
- 16:54Am I taking crazy pills does that make sense?
- 16:56Do you know? Yeah, I I know what you're saying,
- 16:59but like when you play for a California team
- 17:05or a New York team like you already have notoriety
- 17:09like almost automatic so You're getting deals
- 17:15on the side as well Yeah, I think the Dodgers
- 17:23I don't I just saw something online it was like
- 17:26their TV deal Like they have like far in a way
- 17:30the most lucrative TV deal and I like in all
- 17:32of baseball So it's like even if they didn't
- 17:35like if this like salary cap like mumbo -jumbo
- 17:37like wasn't like I think they They would still
- 17:41like I mean For years, like before, when the
- 17:44Yankees were the evil empire, just scooping up
- 17:47wherever they wanted. The Dodgers were still
- 17:48a very good baseball team. The Dodgers have been
- 17:50a very good team for years. They've never been
- 17:54just like, at least that I can recall, just like
- 17:56schleps. So it's not like this is some new thing
- 17:59where the Dodgers are all of a sudden like, Hey,
- 18:01let's just spend all of our money. It's like,
- 18:03no, they've always done it. They're just, it's
- 18:04their turn to be the big bad guy. And they're
- 18:07doing it very well. that's baseball unfortunately
- 18:15yes it is that is baseball yeah i don't know
- 18:25it's like what if they make a salary cap but
- 18:29it's like really really high oh i'm sure it'll
- 18:33be something insane because like i said i mean
- 18:36and we just incrementally well we can't incrementally
- 18:38go down yeah but like the salaries If they just
- 18:43keep it at the same spot, the salaries will just
- 18:46eventually go up because that's how inflation
- 18:48works. And that's how time works. And so the
- 18:52salaries will keep going up. But if the salary
- 18:53cap stays the same, wait till a team kind of
- 18:59hits it and then slowly start bringing it up.
- 19:02Or have the league do some more shit where people
- 19:07want to watch the MLB and bring in more money.
- 19:11I mean, honestly, I'm not even the biggest like
- 19:14salary cap guy. Like I'm more in favor of the
- 19:17salary floor. So my favorite baseball team will
- 19:20actually try to spend money to win games. Um,
- 19:24that I'm more in favor of that. Cause I, there
- 19:26are ways around, but now I'm going to say around,
- 19:29but like small market teams have had success
- 19:31before the Tampa Bay Rays were in, were arguably
- 19:33should have won the world series in 2020. If
- 19:36they weren't boneheads and took. Blake Snell
- 19:40out when he was cruising in game seven, six or
- 19:43seven. But, um, yeah, it's like, so it's like
- 19:46small, the Kansas city Royals with a bunch of
- 19:48young guys won it in 2013, 14. So it's like small
- 19:52market teams can and like will win world series
- 19:55again, have done it before. It's just. You have
- 20:00to be, you have to have some great baseball minds
- 20:03to do that. And unfortunately, a lot of the small
- 20:05market teams, your pirates, your reds, your.
- 20:08Okay. Nationals now they just, they won the world
- 20:11series not that long ago, but since then they've
- 20:12been dog shit. They just kind of seem like they
- 20:15don't care. And that's, that's my other question.
- 20:24Why don't these small market teams care? Like
- 20:28don't they want to win? I, uh, Honestly, I know
- 20:35that they I know that they can't like actually
- 20:37afford to win. We've all seen the movie money
- 20:40ball. You can't afford it and Like you you can't
- 20:44go up Against like a a billion dollar payroll
- 20:51versus like a I Don't know the lowest MLB teams
- 20:57payroll, but I assume it's double -digit million
- 21:03Somewhere maybe low trips, but I don't know like
- 21:08I'm looking it up right now because I don't The
- 21:12Cincinnati Reds payroll is a hundred and twenty
- 21:14six to a hundred and thirty two million and the
- 21:18Dodgers payroll is four hundred and ten million
- 21:21to four hundred and thirty million. So like Three
- 21:25times like a cool half mill or a cool half bill.
- 21:29Excuse me. Yeah. Well, okay, so I googled it
- 21:32Ironically. So it's the lowest payrolls in 2026.
- 21:35So Cleveland guardians have the lowest with,
- 21:38um, roughly 62 to 70 million. They, I believe
- 21:42as of time of recording have the second wild
- 21:45card spot. Miami Marlins are in second 76 to
- 21:4979 million. They are, I don't know exactly how
- 21:52many games back, but they're right around 500.
- 21:54They're solid ball club. Chicago white socks,
- 21:5782 to 83 .9 million. They're leading their division.
- 22:00So it's like, These teams can it can be done.
- 22:04It's just a matter of if you could granted the
- 22:06White Sox I'm say came out of nowhere They did
- 22:09make some good like kind of underrated moves
- 22:11in the offseason, but they've been horrendous
- 22:13for a few years But go back to your question
- 22:16Sean, like I can just say as a Cincinnati Reds
- 22:19fan the Castellini family the owners of the Cincinnati
- 22:22Reds. They do not care about winning games. They
- 22:25just don't they just care about making money
- 22:27and it's It's unfortunate they have Will say
- 22:32they have at times these few years ago. They
- 22:35took some big swings and sign Casta Castellano
- 22:38or Castellano they sound the infamous guy they
- 22:42signed Shit the guy from Milwaukee whose name
- 22:46is skills from right now some bitch Where they
- 22:49signed it? No, or they did sign him, but he was
- 22:52kind of a lower that at that time in his career,
- 22:54he was lower valued. Um, but they, uh, Mike,
- 22:57we stock it. That was his name. They took some
- 22:59big swings on some guys just didn't work out.
- 23:01And I think that might've been the, the team
- 23:04being like, their family back, you know what?
- 23:06Let's just not do that again, because they just
- 23:10don't for as long as I've been alive or as long,
- 23:13and as long as they've owned the team, it's just,
- 23:15it's hard to see them making moves that in the
- 23:19end justify winning the most amount of baseball
- 23:21games possible. But like if your team is good,
- 23:26they will come they will spend more money You
- 23:29will make more money You will you will get new
- 23:33fans for future generations But they're just
- 23:37they're just greedy billionaires. They're like
- 23:39we don't want to spend money. Like that's just
- 23:43they just don't It's the perception it gives
- 23:48honestly is they just don't Want to spend money.
- 23:51Cause I mean, I know we've spent a little bit
- 23:53this off season to kind of bump up about me for
- 23:55years. We had like some glows payroll and baseball
- 23:58and it's just. And it, it wasn't like we were
- 24:01like any of these three teams. I listed with
- 24:02the Rays or the Brewers who were like, they just
- 24:07make great moves to get young talent in. It's
- 24:10like, we'll get young talent in, but then just
- 24:12everyone else around them is terrible. So it's
- 24:16just, I mean, I would say this is the life of
- 24:22some small market. Like it can be done. Like
- 24:24you can win with small market teams, but unfortunately
- 24:26a lot of times in baseball, it's just the owners
- 24:29don't care. They don't seem to care. So with
- 24:36this salary floor slash salary cap thing that
- 24:44they're discussing come out of the owner's pocket.
- 24:47Like it does now. Or is it like a set base from
- 24:51the MLB? No, it'll be like you, each team has
- 24:57to have this X amount on their payroll. That
- 25:01the salary floor, the salary cap, I mean, it
- 25:03would just work like every other sport, but,
- 25:06and, but yeah, the salary to my knowledge, I
- 25:08mean, I haven't poured through the documents,
- 25:10but to my knowledge, it would be every team has
- 25:13to spend set amount of money or else. I don't
- 25:16know if there'd be like a fine or something or
- 25:18some any sort of punishment, but that would,
- 25:22to my knowledge, that's what it is. Yeah. It'd
- 25:25be like owners have to spend this X amount of
- 25:27money. After discussing some, some loose payroll
- 25:32numbers here today, what would you feel would
- 25:37be a comfortable payroll floor? I honestly, I
- 25:41do not know. I'd have to look at like whatever
- 25:43you see, like the average Salary, I mean I assume
- 25:47they would do like the average they're probably
- 25:50average the salaries and then do some sort of
- 25:52formula I have no idea I could not I'm not good
- 25:55enough at math or numbers to tell you an exact
- 25:57figure Okay, there's more like you're an opinion
- 26:03but I mean I just I honestly just don't know
- 26:07to give like an educated I don't want to say
- 26:10like Like 180 or something like that and then
- 26:14like And that just turned out to be incredibly
- 26:18stupid. Like I honestly just don't know. I mean,
- 26:21honestly, right now I'd probably so if like,
- 26:24if the guardians are like the lowest at like,
- 26:27what'd you say 62 to 70 or something like that?
- 26:29Uh, yeah, something like that. I probably put
- 26:32it in 62. Jet GPT came up with $204 million.
- 26:39Well, I didn't have none. The Cincinnati Reds
- 26:44will not be paying. They will fold as a franchise.
- 26:47If you if you combine the total MLB payroll,
- 26:51which is $6 .131 billion divided by 30 teams,
- 26:58that is $204 million per team. That happened.
- 27:06This make. The problem with this is this would
- 27:11force roughly half the league to more than double
- 27:13their payrolls, making it politically unrealistic.
- 27:17Right. Yep. So there are even like some like
- 27:22medium market teams, like, I guess, like your
- 27:24Astros or your Rangers, maybe not the Astros.
- 27:26They have a lot of guys, but like Rangers, like
- 27:28Giants, that are just like, they don't even spend
- 27:31that much money. And they're like, they're really
- 27:33good. And they've, they have like no variety.
- 27:38It does say, uh, 150 million is much more of
- 27:43a realistic floor. I was going to say, like,
- 27:46if I had to guess, I'd say mid to maybe slightly
- 27:48high, like 100 millions, but I didn't like, I
- 27:53have no idea if that's feasible or what would
- 27:56have you. Cause yeah, I mean the guardians loan
- 27:57would have to double their payroll. I say we
- 28:01started a cool hundred mil. Yeah, I wonder if
- 28:04that's something they would maybe like increment
- 28:06if they do enforce this, be like, all right,
- 28:08in three years, it has to be 150 as opposed to,
- 28:12all right, in four months, you have to double
- 28:14your payroll. Right. Yeah. That's also like a,
- 28:20where are they going to get guys? They're just
- 28:23going to, there's only so much talent. Yes. You
- 28:24don't want to spend like, like a hundred million
- 28:28on like some like utility second basement. It'll
- 28:31be like the NBA when like, Delva Dova was getting
- 28:35like life altering money generational wealth
- 28:39for being like a eighth man off the bench. Well,
- 28:44it's like you get, you get like really good players.
- 28:47And then I only bring this up because it's relevant
- 28:51to me, but like Macklin Sellebrini signed his
- 28:55NHL deal and is now the highest paid NHL player
- 28:58in the league. And it's like, it's like. Well,
- 29:03you could get guys that are really good and then
- 29:07just kind of double their income of like what
- 29:10they're actually worth. Yeah, that is true. I
- 29:12mean, that's kind of a dangerous thing to just
- 29:14overpay for the sake of just to get to your floor.
- 29:18But, um, I mean, and I will say in the reds defense,
- 29:23they did try to sign Ellie Dela Cruz to this
- 29:25massive extension, but he has. He, I don't know
- 29:29if he turned them down per se because he's still
- 29:31got like four years left on his Ricky deal, but
- 29:33he's very much being like a wait and see. And
- 29:36I do not blame him. I would do the exact same
- 29:39thing. Yeah. Can you trade money in MLB? Yeah.
- 29:45Just trade it. Cash. I mean, the reds are great
- 29:49at that cash considerations. Kick in some cash.
- 29:53Yeah. Yeah. Give me my money. This dude hasn't
- 29:57even watched Moneyball. He doesn't know. Yeah.
- 30:02I've seen Moneyball. I've seen Moneyball a bunch
- 30:06of times. Well, you just asked if you could trade
- 30:10cash. Yeah, I'm not a movie wizard. I can't remember
- 30:17every single time. Yeah, like three. It's one
- 30:22of the most tantalizing scenes in the movie is
- 30:24the trade deadline. It's been a while watch it
- 30:30again. It's great Yeah, I got wrestling to watch
- 30:37Raw was pretty sick last night Last week raw
- 30:46disappointed Very much this week. Not so much
- 30:51pretty good. Pretty good. Can't complain. But
- 30:55anyway Well, this is the most time we've talked
- 31:00about baseball ever. Yeah, probably ever. Yeah.
- 31:06I learned one new player today. Tyler Scooby.
- 31:10Well, no. What's his name? Tarek Scoobel. Tarek?
- 31:19Yeah, it's like T -A -R -I -K. We haven't learned
- 31:23anything today. I always thought it was pronounced
- 31:25like more like Tariq, but then... I could, I
- 31:29mean, I haven't really heard his name all that
- 31:31often. Like, but yeah, the last like, I mean,
- 31:3548 hours really, it's like Terrick. So it's like
- 31:38Derek with the T obviously spelled different,
- 31:41but G black. No. Oh, there was a show on Disney
- 31:49channel. Oh, this show is so gross. Yeah. I've
- 31:52never watched that show, dude. They were like
- 31:54step siblings and they wanted to like, do each
- 31:57other is gross. Disgusting. I don't know if that's
- 32:03true. Because they totally did. There were some
- 32:07underlying vibes of like, I remember being like,
- 32:12a teenager and like, hmm, I don't know about
- 32:16this. Well, they're not really, they're not really
- 32:20related. So this is all fake. Somebody made this
- 32:27up. Even in this show, they weren't there step
- 32:29simply. Who's to say? Sparked a whole generation.
- 32:36I was gonna say, probably not. We know. We know.
- 32:43That's what I mean. It sparked a whole generation.
- 32:47That one Disney Channel show. Life with Terry
- 32:53Scubat. Scuba. All right, I know you're fucked.
- 33:01Scuba Steve. You guys remember Scuba Steve? Yeah,
- 33:07I remember Scuba Steve. Yeah. Jesus Christ. All
- 33:14right. I don't know. What else has happened in
- 33:16the MLB? I mean, Reds are winning right now.
- 33:20That's fun. The A's who are terrible, so. Did
- 33:25you bet on the reds? No, I didn't. Um, I didn't
- 33:28like they were like minus one 35 a little too
- 33:30juicy, but do you do that? Do I bet on the reds?
- 33:35Yeah. There was, I think it was two years. Yeah.
- 33:38It was two years ago. They won on like a 16 game
- 33:42winning streak, I believe. And I was betting
- 33:44on them a lot in that time. Cause I mean, they
- 33:46were being, they were still getting like really
- 33:49good odds for being like one of the hottest teams
- 33:51in baseball. I remember my end of the year, like
- 33:54picket, like review, like your most bet on team
- 33:58across all sports was the Cincinnati Reds. I
- 34:00was like, oh, that's never a good sign. You don't
- 34:06get rich betting on this team. For that year,
- 34:10they were really good. For that one period of
- 34:13time, they were really good. I still think they
- 34:15missed the playoffs. Hell yeah. Shit. Um, yeah,
- 34:23well, what else? I mean, just cashed red socks,
- 34:27white socks over nine and a half. Shout out trend
- 34:30center. They had like a 16 and O trend, I think
- 34:34on that one. Is that their 15 and O system? 15
- 34:37and O. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. I need that. Yes.
- 34:44Big shout out. Shout out. Friends of the show.
- 34:48Greatest tool on the planet for sports bettors.
- 34:50Really only friend of the show. Use code TFTM
- 34:53at checkout for 15 % off. 15 % off of premium
- 34:57membership. It's worth it. It is worth it. Oh,
- 35:03a hundred percent. You do make your money back.
- 35:08It's just, if you're responsible enough to actually
- 35:12put it back into your bank account. Right. Yeah.
- 35:16You do make your money back on it, but yeah.
- 35:19It's just going to get in the books anyway. Yeah.
- 35:23One way or another, it's going to the books.
- 35:25I'm going to spin it on something stupid anyway.
- 35:27Might as well gamble with it. Gamble responsibly.
- 35:35The only other sports thing I could really think
- 35:37of is like, we didn't talk about LeBron going
- 35:42to the Sixers because that happened last week
- 35:44and we didn't meet, but that was also like the
- 35:46only thing that happened. So whatever. Now we
- 35:51have two things to talk about, DMOB and LLebron
- 35:53James. So Lebron James signed with the Sixers
- 35:57for, I think like not a lot of money. Is that
- 36:00correct? I don't know the exact figure. It wasn't
- 36:05like an exorbitant amount of money. Let me pull
- 36:08it up. I think he's getting like $8 million a
- 36:12year. Yeah, two year, eight mill that minimum.
- 36:17Wow. And it's like, you look at that. That roster
- 36:20that they have now. And it's like, Oh, that's
- 36:26pretty good. It looks pretty good. It's still
- 36:30the Sixers. Um, and beat will get hurt. Max's
- 36:36game will go to hell or something like some shit
- 36:38will happen where this team gets beat by the
- 36:40Pistons in the second round. Uh, I don't know.
- 36:44I don't really have an opinion either way. If
- 36:46I'm being perfectly honest, I, I'm not. the biggest
- 36:49fan of LeBron. Um, not like a hater necessarily.
- 36:54I just don't. Cool. It's very much ring chasing
- 37:00and he's being pretty open about it. Just kind
- 37:03of, he's saying it's not ring chasing, but also
- 37:08saying he's going somewhere best to win a championship.
- 37:13Which is ring casing. Yes. But then again, I
- 37:16was thinking about this. I was like, isn't every
- 37:19contract either you're getting the bag or you're
- 37:24ring chasing. That's every contract. You're either
- 37:29like, I'm going to sign with this team because
- 37:31they're giving me some preposterous amount of
- 37:34money or I want to win a championship. And like,
- 37:37there's nothing, that's kind of the whole goal.
- 37:41So it was like, I saw a lot of people hating
- 37:43on him like, Oh, he's ring chasing, joining this
- 37:45like team. It's a super team now. I, isn't the
- 37:50point of every contract to win a championship.
- 37:53It's not, that's not a new thing. Super teams
- 37:55are not new. No, they're not. They haven't for
- 37:58awhile. And this isn't even really like a super
- 38:01team. I mean, it means always hurt. LeBron is
- 38:0650. Like, like, yeah, if they're all healthy
- 38:12and playing to the best of their abilities, yes,
- 38:14this is a very good team, but how often exactly,
- 38:21especially like when we're in the playoffs, and
- 38:26I mean, not seeing LeBron can't get it done.
- 38:29I'm more doubt and beat honestly, I just don't
- 38:31think he can stay healthy or, or consistent for
- 38:34that matter. So I mean, For this to be successful
- 38:40quote -unquote. I mean they have to win a championship
- 38:42and the Sixers don't do that I just it's fine,
- 38:49but it's uh, I Don't know I was listening to
- 38:56another podcast and they were talking about this
- 38:58apparently LeBron James had a meeting with Embiid
- 39:02and was like Talk to me about your health and
- 39:06he was like I think this is like the first time
- 39:10in a long time that he's like entered an offseason,
- 39:13not injured. So he was like, I'm like the healthiest
- 39:18I've kind of ever been for at least a long time.
- 39:21And so I was like, oh, okay, that's, that's pretty
- 39:24good, I guess. And so like, I don't know. Feels
- 39:29like he's doing his due diligence. For sure.
- 39:33And honestly, if they win a title, I'd be kind
- 39:36of like, I want to say like stoked. I'm gonna
- 39:39be like over the moon, but I'd be like, Oh, that's
- 39:40kind of cool. Cause it's like, it's the Sixers.
- 39:43They haven't won. When was their last title?
- 39:50I want to say like 76. Yeah. Is that what they
- 39:56call them? I think it's, uh, when the country
- 40:01was founded, but I'm not a history buff like
- 40:05you, so I don't know. No country is founded in
- 40:08Philadelphia. So 83 was their last time. 83 before
- 40:13that they won and won in 67. So yeah, they have
- 40:16not won since 83. They have not won since 83
- 40:20and they've been pretty dreadful for, I would
- 40:24say. Oh, most of the time I've been on this earth.
- 40:29So yeah. It's just silly. I mean, I'm not going
- 40:33to be like, Hey, goodie for this team, but it'd
- 40:35be cool. Like, okay, it's the six or does not
- 40:37like he went to the Knicks or like some just
- 40:39like already established like dynasty. Yeah.
- 40:44I would have kind of been, I don't even really
- 40:48know why I have an opinion. I really kind of
- 40:51don't have an opinion to be honest, but if he
- 40:55went to golden state, I'd be like, God damn it.
- 41:01Like that's like the ultimate like ring chase.
- 41:06Like there's ring chasing and then there's like
- 41:09rain chasing. You know what I mean? Like part
- 41:11of me thinks like this is, I mean, if we're just
- 41:16going to break it down to just ring chasing or
- 41:18not, I would say this is more of a ring chase
- 41:20than going to go and say, cause everyone's going
- 41:22to say it's old. Like Steph is old. Draymond
- 41:25is ancient and he's also just not a very good
- 41:28basketball player anymore. everybody on that
- 41:31team who would be like, the top guys are old.
- 41:37So I was, I think that'd be more, it wouldn't
- 41:40be a gamble. They'd be one of the best teams
- 41:42in the West, but I would say going to Philly
- 41:44is more of a like, he has a better chance of
- 41:48winning in Philly than he does in Golden State,
- 41:49in my opinion. Cause they do have like, they
- 41:53do have like the veterans, but they also have
- 41:54like Maxey and Edgecombe. They have like some
- 41:56young talent. where, not to say Golden State
- 41:58doesn't, but theirs is better. So I think he's
- 42:01better off in Philly trying to get a ring in
- 42:03than Golden State. Granted, Golden State on paper
- 42:05is very much like a book. And this is like almost
- 42:08KD again, not quite, actually not really even,
- 42:12but just going to a team who's won three titles
- 42:16in the last, shit, how long it's been now? 10
- 42:20years. As opposed to one who hasn't won one in
- 42:2546 years, 43 years. Yeah, I I agree with that
- 42:36it's just like I Guess my other point to that
- 42:40was just like oh great another thing for Philly
- 42:43fans to be obnoxious about You know, I mean I
- 42:48don't hear about basketball that much so like
- 42:50it's kind of you know fun It's not it's not about
- 42:53like what it's not about the sport. It doesn't
- 42:57matter whether it's NFL NHL NBA MLB like they're
- 43:02just they're just so fucking obnoxious dude.
- 43:06The Sixers have just been so bad like I remember
- 43:10like they had they won like 12 games one year
- 43:13like not that long ago. Yeah but now but now
- 43:17they're all gonna come out of the woodwork and
- 43:20just like rally behind it and it's just be like
- 43:23I've been a fan since I was born since I came
- 43:26out of the egg you know like Yeah, I mean, you're
- 43:31not wrong, but yeah, it's the Rocky Balboa statue
- 43:36hatched me. It's like a bit of Sixers fans who
- 43:39stalked their Jay. But it's also like, I mean,
- 43:47it's still the Sixers. I know, but you know what
- 43:49I'm saying? Oh yeah. A hundred percent. They're
- 43:51going to be assholes and they kind of, I would
- 43:53say they already have, but they're. I've seen
- 43:55a lot of people online who have been very critical
- 43:58of Mr. LeBron James just over the moon about
- 44:02this. Oh, and I guess I don't really, I think
- 44:06I know who you're talking about. Yeah. It's like,
- 44:08I guess I don't really blame them, but also like,
- 44:11I mean, it's hypocrite, but there's, they're
- 44:13going to choke there. They're not going to win
- 44:15us out there. They're just not. Wouldn't you
- 44:20enjoy if LeBron James came to the Pacers? Sure.
- 44:24I, yeah. Yeah, I mean Yeah, that's like one of
- 44:28those things. It's like I can't even Imagine
- 44:31like I can't right put like a fake scenario in
- 44:35my head. Like what would that be? It's like what
- 44:37would you do if the Titans won a Super Bowl?
- 44:39I don't know because I haven't even thought about
- 44:42that Yeah, well, but like it's loaded oh, that's
- 44:48the same That's the same thing as the Sixers
- 44:54like Sixers fans they probably didn't fucking
- 44:56think that this was possible until they got Jalen
- 44:59Brown and they still got Paul George No, they
- 45:02traded him for Jalen Brown. Oh That's I'm glad
- 45:06you brought Jalen Brown. I feel bad for mr. Jalen
- 45:09Brown He's been like because he kind of was always
- 45:14the number two in Boston, even though when Tatum
- 45:17was hurt they were Just as good with him being
- 45:22the number one guy So he goes to Philly, he can
- 45:26honestly be the number one guy because MB would
- 45:28always be number one. But like, he would be one
- 45:32be I guess you could say as opposed to an actual
- 45:35number two. So it's like, okay, he kind of get
- 45:37his chance to be the top guy. And now he's third.
- 45:43Yeah, but like, no, shit, I forgot what I was
- 45:48gonna say. Well, I would feel worse if I was
- 45:52playoff P Paul George just because I feel like
- 45:58he's been on 30 teams wouldn't you wouldn't you
- 46:03hate just like moving that much I mean he's a
- 46:07billionaire I'm not gonna cry to Pacers legend
- 46:10Paul George by the way but um I mean yeah it
- 46:13sucks especially wouldn't you like regardless
- 46:17of like money and like status wouldn't you hate
- 46:20like moving like 20 times in like 10 years. Yes,
- 46:25I despise moving more than anything. Yeah, I
- 46:27would. I would hate that. I hate even when like
- 46:33you can pay people to move your shit for you.
- 46:36I still hate moving. Well, yeah, they're not
- 46:39moving all my shit. Well, like these people are
- 46:42also, you know, family men, like they have kids
- 46:46and wives and it's like uprooting your whole
- 46:50family like that is rough. It's gotta be. I wonder
- 46:55if Paul George is married and slash has kids.
- 46:59Pretty sure he's married. I don't know about
- 47:01kids, but I mean just talking about like moving
- 47:05and stuff. LeBron's not even living in Philly.
- 47:09Yeah, I was going to bring that up. It's like
- 47:11how would you feel if LeBron James came to your
- 47:15team? And then live somewhere else where there's
- 47:18another NBA team. If he is living in New York,
- 47:21he's living in New York. He's going to helicopter
- 47:23to Philly. Dude, are you? He's asking for him.
- 47:29He's asking. Dude, he's asking for it. You're
- 47:33going to helicopter. 42 times a year more than
- 47:39that, give her practices like every every day.
- 47:42That's preposterous. It's only like, it's really
- 47:45not that far though. Oh, I think they said it's
- 47:48like a 45 minute ride, but it's like a three
- 47:51hour train ride. It's a 45 minute helicopter
- 47:54and a two hour car ride, but like a three hour
- 47:58train ride or something like that. Yeah. Is Philly
- 48:01that bad? Is it sucked to live in Philadelphia
- 48:06that bad? I mean, there's some parts of Philadelphia
- 48:09that you do not want to be in. Oh, yeah, I know
- 48:14that I'm not saying he would let he's not living
- 48:16in South Philly It's Philadelphia as a whole
- 48:20like if there are no like good parts. I Feel
- 48:24like you could just live like 45 minutes outside
- 48:27Philadelphia and somewhere in Royal, Pennsylvania
- 48:30or something and just be alright live with Domesh
- 48:34You'd be a kid. I mean he probably already learned
- 48:37Dutch or German or something like I assume he
- 48:40has some sort of property in New York already
- 48:43Yeah, he probably already had yeah, yeah, but
- 48:46I mean it is just kind of a wild thing also I
- 48:48mean Get right in a helicopter every day. I imagine
- 48:51that's pretty fucking cool Bro, there's been
- 48:54in the past six years. There's been two Major
- 48:58helicopter deaths. I know but still a helicopter
- 49:02And it's not it's not 42 times a year. It's oh,
- 49:06it's every day Well, it's twice a day because
- 49:10he has to go there And back. Bro, he's, he's
- 49:15rolling the dice, dude. And I mean, like in practice
- 49:18too, like he's, he's got to practice. Yeah. So
- 49:22like that is going to be, yeah, like every day,
- 49:24like that is, that is a gamble. Yeah. Yeah. Like,
- 49:33but if I was a Philly fan, I'd probably be like
- 49:35kind of upset. Yeah. It doesn't live in your
- 49:39shit hole city. Yeah, he doesn't want to live
- 49:41in my shithole city. He doesn't even want to
- 49:43live in your state. Yeah, actually two states
- 49:46over He doesn't want to live in Pennsylvania
- 49:50or New Jersey It'd be pretty cool to live in
- 49:53like upstate. There's gotta be some really cool
- 49:55property like upstate, Pennsylvania like in the
- 49:59Boonies somewhere where you can just have Acres
- 50:02all to yourself and you can still probably helicopter
- 50:05to the arena Yeah, it'd be much smaller. It's
- 50:09dangerous. I wonder if they would are they gonna
- 50:11put a helipad on the roof? That'd be cool. I
- 50:15don't know. He's probably got a helicopter in
- 50:17to somewhere where there's a helicopter pet and
- 50:19then he has to get in a car and then go oh Yeah,
- 50:23I mean it would be kind of cool if they put a
- 50:26helicopter pet on the roof yeah of the Whatever
- 50:31it's called the Philadelphia arena. Yeah, okay,
- 50:35that'd be kind of cool Wells Fargo. Yeah. Yeah.
- 50:43That's just like, I feel like you're wasting
- 50:46more money on travel than you are if you just
- 50:50like bought a nice ass apartment. I don't think
- 50:54money is real to LeBron James. I mean, yeah,
- 51:00but like, did you say I just don't see a point.
- 51:05I mean, Yeah, I don't know. I think it's kind
- 51:07of silly, but yeah, you don't. Yeah, you're not
- 51:11a trillionaire. Did you see LeBron said he has
- 51:20like two of his rookie cards stowed away so that
- 51:23he could sell it if he ever falls on hard times.
- 51:28Brother, he's going to fall off the face of the
- 51:30earth to fall on hard times. It's like your early
- 51:34forties and you have a billion like legitimately,
- 51:37I think he is a billionaire. You're gonna get
- 51:41wrapped up in some bad shit if you fall on hard
- 51:44times at this point in your life. Net worth $1
- 51:50.4 billion. He's almost halfway to another billion.
- 51:57Yeah. He's also that's kind of No, I'll say he's
- 52:04also, seriously speaking, halfway towards death.
- 52:09So he is. Well, aren't we all? Well, yeah, I
- 52:13guess who's to say he, he'll probably live to
- 52:16be, he'll probably outlive me, but it's just,
- 52:21he hasn't had a stroke. No, but it's, it's just
- 52:24crazy. Shout out. I saw he was, yeah, I have
- 52:29two rookie cards stowed away. He's like, is that
- 52:31what's going to do it? LeBron? These two rookie
- 52:34cards going to get back the 1 .4 bill. After
- 52:38I win this chip in Philly, after I put my name
- 52:43on the map. True underdog. They always keep saying
- 52:50I can't do it. If he does get a ship with Philly
- 52:55though, is he the undisputed goat? Some would
- 53:02say he's already the undisputed goat. Yeah. I
- 53:07mean, you're not, it's not going to change anyone's
- 53:10mind. I don't think anyone's sure. I don't think
- 53:13any of these MJ diehards or if he wins two, maybe,
- 53:16um, because he signed a two year deal. So if
- 53:20he wins two, Maybe, but I don't think one title
- 53:23is going to change anybody's mind. Just like
- 53:26if he, if it like, if something happens and these
- 53:29teams suck, I don't think it's going to change
- 53:31anyone's mind that he, that LeBron's the good.
- 53:34I just think we're too, we're too far in it now.
- 53:36I think you can't change it. Maybe, maybe maybe
- 53:41if he is actually 50 and he wins a chip and like
- 53:46actually plays like a pretty big role. Maybe.
- 53:51Yeah, if he plays until he's actually 50, I'll
- 53:55be like, you know what, man? You've earned this.
- 53:58You know what? It's really not a big deal. Yeah.
- 54:01It's like basketball, man. You can have it. You
- 54:08can stop trying. Sure. Why not? Yeah, it's you.
- 54:14Just go spend time with your family. Just stop.
- 54:19I love basketball. Please, LeBron, release my
- 54:24family. Please, Papa, release my family. Dip
- 54:32your pizza in butter. Yes, Papa. Okay. Papa John's
- 54:43really did do that. They still do. And it's damn
- 54:47good. My pizza and butter. Me. Okay. Um, Hall
- 54:59of Fame games on Thursday. Yes, football this
- 55:03week. Who's playing Cardinals and Panthers. Battle
- 55:10of the Titans. Carson Beck is starting for the
- 55:13Cardinals. I did see some clips today that Carson
- 55:16Beck was actually swinging it. Is, um, is Jacoby
- 55:23Brissett still holding out or is that taking
- 55:25care? I thought they signed him. Did they? I
- 55:27thought they, I thought, I thought they did.
- 55:30I mean, yeah, I have no idea. So. Good. I mean,
- 55:35I'm honestly, I'm honestly not caught up on Joby
- 55:40Joby preset floor, but I mean, I'll check. Yeah.
- 55:45Um, the only thing I've seen coming out of Cardinals
- 55:47camp is Marvin Harrison cannot catch football.
- 55:51I've seen that was really. Yeah. He, I mean,
- 55:54I've seen that four flips, so those could be
- 55:56very isolated instances. I don't know. But from
- 55:59what I have seen, and you're looking good for
- 56:02the boy. Well, uh, Jacobi preset ended his contract,
- 56:08hold out with the Arizona Cardinals by signing
- 56:09a restructured one year deal worth 15 and a half
- 56:13million dollars and up to 21 million after missing
- 56:17voluntary. workouts and mandatory manning camp
- 56:20looking for startup. All right. Well, not often
- 56:24you see a holdout for a one year deal. Yeah.
- 56:29I think perhaps the how it works is you hold
- 56:33out long enough and they're just like, All right,
- 56:35we'll just we'll just give you one year. I mean,
- 56:38he wasn't a good spot. I mean, as good of a spot
- 56:42as Jacoby Brissett would ever be in it was like
- 56:45Who else are you going to play? It's just me,
- 56:50bitch. It was literally just before Carson Beck
- 56:53was drafted. I couldn't tell you who else was
- 56:54on that QB. I fucking hate this guy. I fucking
- 56:58hate. Yes. Because it was one year. No, no, no.
- 57:02There was, it was the year that it was like the
- 57:06summer after Andrew Luck retired and Jacoby Brissett
- 57:13was the backup for the Colts. and like Andrew
- 57:17Luck like retired like pretty unpromptly and
- 57:22like they didn't really have time to get a new
- 57:25quarterback. And I think the Titans played the
- 57:28Colts like week one or two and Jacobi Percett
- 57:32just cooked us. I don't know if you remember
- 57:34that, but oh yeah. He, he absolutely believe
- 57:37I was at that game. Yes. With my grandfather.
- 57:41Yeah. Yeah. I remember When we went to that,
- 57:47we went to that game, there was someone on the
- 57:50on the on the pedestrian bridge, you know, talking
- 57:53about God and stuff and yelling at people for
- 57:55like, being sinners and you know, things like
- 57:59that. And Jesus, and some guy was like, I believe
- 58:02that there is a God because Andrew Luck retired
- 58:06and everyone got everyone gave him a big applause.
- 58:12Little did we know. He got, he got more of an
- 58:15applause than the preacher man did. Yeah. Yeah.
- 58:22Um, yes, we have, we have NFL football this week.
- 58:28It's pretty crazy. I probably watched the first
- 58:31quarter, first half. Yeah. All right. I'll check
- 58:33it out. I'll see what I'm doing that day. It's
- 58:36football. Like, come on. Yeah. Even if it's bad,
- 58:43it's still like Damn, I miss this. I'm gonna
- 58:46watch the first quarter or first half and then
- 58:49change it to something else. That's as is tradition
- 58:52All right, there it is What else has happened?
- 59:06I really, I mean, that's kind of it. I really
- 59:08don't have anything else. I keep getting advertisements
- 59:10for the WNBA and I'm like, not doing it. So the
- 59:15WNBA just allows their athletes to gamble. We
- 59:19learned that. Yeah. Uh, Paige Becker's and Angel
- 59:22Reese were they like, they made some wager on
- 59:28the all star game and This was like not known.
- 59:32And then it was like the WNBA posted a video
- 59:35of them talking about it and then quickly deleted
- 59:40it when people were like, I don't like, you can't,
- 59:43I don't care if the ulcer and you can't gamble
- 59:45on games. And then the WNBA is just refusing
- 59:49to even really acknowledge that it happened.
- 59:52That's kind of funny. It's kind of really funny.
- 59:56Everything that comes out like of this league.
- 1:00:00in the last month or so, it's just like, they
- 1:00:05will never, ever, ever, ever be taken seriously.
- 1:00:09Cause this is the height of its popularity. If
- 1:00:12they actually took themselves seriously and tried
- 1:00:15to make this like a feasible league, they could
- 1:00:18do it, but they just refuse. They refuse to get
- 1:00:23out of their own way. It's comical. 3 .7 million
- 1:00:31followers on Instagram. It's like way higher
- 1:00:35than I thought that they would have. Well, I
- 1:00:38mean, I want to see the numbers before Caitlin
- 1:00:41Clark came in the league and yet they still refuse
- 1:00:43to acknowledge that she exists because it's kind
- 1:00:47of wild. There's like, it's that exactly. So
- 1:00:50I'm saying it's like, they don't crazy. If they
- 1:00:53just strap the rocket to her and be like, all
- 1:00:55right, Caitlin, you are the face of this league
- 1:00:58now. Because you are like print us money and
- 1:01:02they just refuse it's like they I saw a Clip
- 1:01:07obviously, I'm not watching whatever first take
- 1:01:10or this thing about the WNBA but I saw a clip
- 1:01:12where they were talking about the WNBA MVP finalists
- 1:01:17and Caitlin Clark wasn't even on the discussion
- 1:01:19and then the next day she had her record -setting
- 1:01:23like third triple -double in a season or something
- 1:01:27like They're like It's the women like I hate
- 1:01:34to say it but it's the women in the WN the women
- 1:01:37fans of the WNBA Because they're all like, oh
- 1:01:40There's more than one player and it's like that's
- 1:01:44true But like but you can still acknowledge the
- 1:01:50greatness It's like look at every other league.
- 1:01:54Yeah, you can say like yes passion my homes who
- 1:01:57like LeBron James, whoever it is the top dog,
- 1:02:02but also like, there's also other good players.
- 1:02:05Like it's okay to acknowledge that. And when
- 1:02:08you watch the product, you know that there's
- 1:02:11other good players because that's, that's, that's
- 1:02:15what happens with successful sports leagues.
- 1:02:17Exactly. They don't have to necessarily push
- 1:02:21everyone, but it's like, Hey man, Connor McDavid.
- 1:02:27He's like doing highlight real goals like every
- 1:02:30other night and it's like Caitlin Clark third
- 1:02:34triple double bro, you gotta post that shit and
- 1:02:39I love the new meme for the WNBA is like whenever
- 1:02:43somebody else does something cool or like record
- 1:02:46setting is like Page beckers drops X amount of
- 1:02:50points X amount of assists joins Caitlin Clark
- 1:02:53as the only other feature or only other player
- 1:02:55to do this. And it's the Bart Simpson thing where
- 1:02:58it's like, say the line Bart. It's like, Bart
- 1:03:01joins Caitlin Clark. There's no shame. Hey, she's
- 1:03:12the best. And you know what? That's great. It's
- 1:03:20just let's all be better, you know. If you want
- 1:03:22to prove she's not the best, how about you step
- 1:03:25the fuck up bitch? I did see a tweet. Anytime
- 1:03:33someone says that a woman should be president,
- 1:03:35I'm going to show them what they're doing to
- 1:03:36the WNBA. The women are ruining the WNBA. I'm
- 1:03:44going to move on because I want to do a fun little
- 1:03:46exercise with the fellas and I want us on the
- 1:03:50record. to predict the Titan's 2026 -2027 schedule.
- 1:03:55Oh, I'm really bad at exercise. Well, this is
- 1:04:00the exercise of the mind and not a physical.
- 1:04:04Worse at that. All right. Week one. Jets at home.
- 1:04:15Dub. Dub. God, I hope so. Chris? Sure. I don't
- 1:04:23know. I'm also going to say, I'm also going to
- 1:04:24say W I don't love it either, but I'll say when
- 1:04:28I'll probably end up betting it just for the
- 1:04:30sake of fandom, but I hate that gross game. Uh,
- 1:04:36week two Eggles L L yeah. Yeah. That's an L for
- 1:04:41sure. Week three giants in New York. I'm trying
- 1:04:54to decide what story that the 2026 Titans will
- 1:04:57tell. I'm going to say L. Because I think we'll
- 1:05:02be better. I mean, yeah, we'll still be better.
- 1:05:05The Giants are a decent team, especially if everyone's
- 1:05:08healthy. So I'll say L, unfortunately. Will?
- 1:05:15Yeah. They're still pretty early on in the season,
- 1:05:17so Cam Scadaboo will be healthy. Give him a couple
- 1:05:20weeks after that, and he'll be done. Week four,
- 1:05:25Ravens in Baltimore. Week five, Texans. At home.
- 1:05:39Yeah, I'll say dub, because I think we'll split.
- 1:05:43So I'll say dub, because it's at home. I'm going
- 1:05:45L again. Colts. In Indy. L. I'm going to go W.
- 1:05:59Who's their quarterback? Yeah. I'll say W. Because
- 1:06:06they got rid of Anthony Richardson, right? I've
- 1:06:10gotten rid of them, but they blackballed them
- 1:06:12essentially. Who is their quarterback? Who was
- 1:06:18their quarterback last year? Daniel Jones. It's
- 1:06:21Daniel Jones. Yeah. Yeah. Duh. Duh. Okay. I'm
- 1:06:26going to go dub. I'll go dub. Yeah. Sure. Sure.
- 1:06:30You're going to go dub, Chris? Yeah. I think
- 1:06:33it's similar with, I think we'll split. So, and
- 1:06:36we've had some actually success lately in Indy.
- 1:06:40Some. So. So what was yours? I'll go dub. Yeah.
- 1:06:50Okay. Uh, Brown's in Nashville, dub, fucking
- 1:06:57better be. She just Sean Watson might be the
- 1:07:01starter. Yeah. He won't be week six. Oh no, probably
- 1:07:06not. But it's just crazy. After all this poop
- 1:07:10law, they're just going to go right back to them.
- 1:07:12Anyway, dub. Week seven, one, two, three, four,
- 1:07:18five, six, seven. Okay, seven. Week eight, Bengals
- 1:07:22in Cincinnati. L. L. But it'll be close. If bro
- 1:07:28is healthy, L, yeah. It'll be closer than expected.
- 1:07:33I'll also go L. Jaguars at home. Dub. Dub. Fuck
- 1:07:41the Jags. I'm gonna go L at home. Sorry. We'll
- 1:07:48split, but it's not gonna be, it's gonna be away
- 1:07:51and away. Titans at Cowboys. L. L. I also will
- 1:08:02go L. Titans at Jaguars. I will go W. Yeah, I
- 1:08:19think we'll split. I have a hard time seeing
- 1:08:21the team sweeping anybody, so I'll say L because
- 1:08:24I said Dub on the last one. Manders at home.
- 1:08:31Hopefully a Dub. I have no idea what Manders
- 1:08:34team we're going to be getting this year. I'm
- 1:08:35going to go L on that one. It's going to be,
- 1:08:42I think that's going to be kind of close, but.
- 1:08:48I think we barely squeak out a win here. Okay.
- 1:08:52Yeah, I agree. Okay. At Detroit for the Lions.
- 1:09:03L. L. Probably boat race. That's yeah. L, L,
- 1:09:06L, L. At home for the Colts. L I'm gonna go L
- 1:09:27as well at home In Vegas for the Raiders I'll
- 1:09:39also go dub Last home game Steelers L L Because
- 1:09:48we're not winning our last night. I don't care
- 1:09:50who If it was the Raiders, I'd still say L because
- 1:09:53we're not winning that last because the Titans
- 1:09:56came I'm going down just cuz emotions and then
- 1:10:02TBD time, but 17 week 17 Texans That's a dove
- 1:10:11for the last one. I think I said that for the
- 1:10:12last one. So I say L for this one. I'll say for
- 1:10:15this one. I'll go dub All right, so Chris is
- 1:10:221 2 3 4 5 6 Chris has a 6 and 11 record will
- 1:10:31has 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 7 and 10 record not bad One,
- 1:10:40maybe I have one, two, three, four, five, six,
- 1:10:44seven. I also have a seven and 10 record. I went
- 1:10:48all the six and a half. Yeah. If you, if you,
- 1:10:52if you add those all up and divide by three,
- 1:10:55that is six and a half. Look at us. I was shocked
- 1:11:00Ross. Our window was six and a half. I mean,
- 1:11:05I don't hate, I honestly don't hate six and a
- 1:11:08half. Just squeak out seven wins. I thought we
- 1:11:12were gonna win like six games last year and we
- 1:11:14were Dog piss awful. So I don't don't go by me.
- 1:11:20I Know I know I Mean if everything works out
- 1:11:24the way it's supposed to yeah, I can see seven
- 1:11:26wins, but that's I want to say it's a big if
- 1:11:29because I think we have like some actual tools
- 1:11:32in place but Gonna have to see it before I actually
- 1:11:37Put a lot also some of those when wins that chalked
- 1:11:41up were just based purely out of fandom Like
- 1:11:44we got swept by the Texans and the Colts. I wouldn't
- 1:11:46be stunned Yeah, that that Steelers win was definitely
- 1:11:50a fandom win for me for sure Just because it's
- 1:11:54the last game and he's on the old Nissan. I Don't
- 1:11:59know it's uh It feels like Will be in that six
- 1:12:07or seven range. But it's going to happen a little
- 1:12:14bit differently. It's going to it's going to
- 1:12:17be we're going to we're going to beat some guys
- 1:12:20that we're supposed to beat. We're going to lose
- 1:12:23to a team that we definitely should not have
- 1:12:26lost to the Titan way. And then we're going to
- 1:12:31win a game or two. We had no business winning.
- 1:12:36Don't get me wrong. I said six, so I guess I'm
- 1:12:39going under the win total. I will be ecstatic
- 1:12:41with six wins. Oh, yeah. Well, yeah. In a bowl
- 1:12:45game? In my direction. There's two more wins
- 1:12:48than last year. Isn't it? Three more. Oh, it's
- 1:12:54double. It's double the amount of wins. Sometimes
- 1:12:57I've... It's hard to believe we won three. Yeah.
- 1:13:03It's hard remembering them. like, there's the
- 1:13:07Cardinals one, the cards. Yeah, there's the one
- 1:13:10that was gift wrapped to us. The Chiefs one where
- 1:13:13my homes was hurt. And then just the Cardinals,
- 1:13:18the Browns and the Chiefs, the Browns. That was
- 1:13:20it. Yeah. Yeah. So it was the Browns who suck.
- 1:13:24The Cardinals who are terrible and gave that
- 1:13:27game away. And she's with Gardner mentioned.
- 1:13:31And I fully expected us to lose that Chiefs game
- 1:13:33because Gardner Mitchell is just Superman when
- 1:13:36he plays the Titans. Fuck that guy. Yeah, fuck.
- 1:13:40I fucking hate that guy. Fucking hate that guy.
- 1:13:46Okay, let's move on. Because we got to end the
- 1:13:50show. Yeah. Christopher? Yes, sir. What is your
- 1:13:55college football thing? So I have my second win
- 1:13:58total future of the year. It is another under
- 1:14:01because apparently I'm a pessimist, but rightfully
- 1:14:03so in this scenario. I have Iowa state under
- 1:14:06four and a half wins got a plus one 22 over on
- 1:14:10bet three, six, five. This team is going to be
- 1:14:13God awful. And it's not their fault. They lost
- 1:14:16their coach to Penn state. Uh, and pretty much
- 1:14:19every player on their team that was worth a ship.
- 1:14:21And because Penn state poached him so late in
- 1:14:25like the coaching cycle. It was hard for them
- 1:14:28to really get any transfers, so they have theoretically
- 1:14:35two baked in wins with the FCS team and Bowling
- 1:14:39Green. If Bowling Green beat them, I wouldn't
- 1:14:42be shocked. If this team goes 0 -9 in conference
- 1:14:47play, would not be shocked. I have under four
- 1:14:51and a half with a bullet. Honestly, I think this
- 1:14:54being plus money is insane. I've seen a lot of
- 1:14:56Iowa State fans talking on Twitter, just about
- 1:14:59win totals lately. And they say, if we win five
- 1:15:03games, this will be a monumentally successful
- 1:15:07season. So I was like, that shows you the pessimism
- 1:15:12around that program right now. I tried to find
- 1:15:16some alt totals as of now cannot really find
- 1:15:19any. If I can find a two and a half, I might
- 1:15:22sprinkle that under just cause I, it's going
- 1:15:26to get ugly and they're going to get a quit factor
- 1:15:28at some point with this team. It's going to be
- 1:15:31bad. It's not their fault. I think they will
- 1:15:34build on something. I think they will bounce
- 1:15:37back from this season. Eventually rooting for
- 1:15:40them. This year's going to be brutal. I think
- 1:15:43this is going to be the worst power 14. So yeah,
- 1:15:45under four and a half wins for the Iowa state
- 1:15:47cyclones. And for the people at home, will you
- 1:15:51remind them what your other one total was Sacramento
- 1:15:53State also under four and a half, I believe.
- 1:15:57Um, I don't have the odds on that. It was minus
- 1:15:59one 20, I think. Yes. Uh, I think it was under
- 1:16:03four and a half for Sacramento State as well.
- 1:16:07Okay. Awesome. Yeah. There it is. I'm going to
- 1:16:13stay here. It is whoop. There it is. I'm gonna
- 1:16:21forget about it. Anyways, thanks for listening.
