- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's just my opinion. It's time for one more thing.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'm Strong and Getty one more thing.
- 0:09Speaker 2: So before we get to a Michelangelo hosted one more thing,
- 0:15Speaker 2: I didn't pay off one of my teases during the
- 0:17Speaker 2: Armstrong and Getty radio show. If you enjoy these bitter foods,
- 0:21Speaker 2: you might have psychopathic tendencies. And the list is gin
- 0:28Speaker 2: and tonics love them, black coffee every day, and dark
- 0:33Speaker 2: chocolate love it.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Yes, virtually the only thing I'll eat for dessert.
- 0:38Speaker 4: All right, I'm two out of three?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Which one don't you like? You don't drink.
- 0:42Speaker 4: I'm not a gin drinker.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Oh you're not drink.
- 0:44Speaker 5: See it at the psychopath party, though, Katie. So two
- 0:47Speaker 5: out of three is plenty welcome.
- 0:49Speaker 4: I'm excited.
- 0:50Speaker 2: And if you're not a psychopath, you you probably have
- 0:53Speaker 2: everyday sadism. It says here, which is a person who
- 0:57Speaker 2: takes pleasure from ordinary experiences in which cruelty is I carrious?
- 1:01Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I vicarious cruelty gets me through the day.
- 1:04Speaker 2: That in a little dark chocolate to nibble on.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Exactly. I washed down my cruelty with a nice gin
- 1:11Speaker 3: and tonic and a little dark chocolate.
- 1:14Speaker 2: So satisfying, or a cup of coffee to help you
- 1:18Speaker 2: stay up later to watch more of the cruelty.
- 1:20Speaker 5: You know, if there's a good cruelty on TV. Yeah,
- 1:23Speaker 5: I'll want a cup of coffee to keep my eyes wide.
- 1:27Speaker 2: All right, now your story, Michael Angelo.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Okay, let me go back about six months ago. My
- 1:31Speaker 1: wife and I purchased these tickets to a show that
- 1:35Speaker 1: was we thought would be high action, entertaining, musical, very cool,
- 1:41Speaker 1: and so I didn't realize it was the NFL playoff week.
- 1:44Speaker 2: All on ice, no, nothing like that.
- 1:47Speaker 1: But I didn't realize it was the NFL playoff week,
- 1:49Speaker 1: and I didn't think ahead.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Oh oh yeah, I've done that before too. Yeah, I've
- 1:53Speaker 2: done that before too.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So of course this thing comes up and I realized
- 1:56Speaker 1: it's now the NFL playoff weekend. And I say, you know, look,
- 2:01Speaker 1: I really don't want to go. She goes, don't worry
- 2:02Speaker 1: about it. It's gonna be great. You know, we bought
- 2:05Speaker 1: these tickets. There are one hundred dollars. You know it's
- 2:07Speaker 1: gonna be fantastic. You're gonna really enjoy it. And I thought,
- 2:09Speaker 1: all right, I'm gonna enjoy it. I'll go along. So
- 2:13Speaker 1: we get to the show, and the show's not what
- 2:16Speaker 1: we expected. It's not any action at all. In fact,
- 2:18Speaker 1: it's people talking on stage doing an occasional song, talking
- 2:22Speaker 1: on stage doing it's super too.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Much Grover, not enough Elmo for Elmo and Ice exactly.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you call it Elmo on Ice. But there's the
- 2:31Speaker 3: freaking blue thing again.
- 2:35Speaker 1: So intermission comes, they say, hey, we got more great
- 2:37Speaker 1: action for you in the second half. Hang around, and
- 2:40Speaker 1: I'm thinking I don't want to hang around. So I
- 2:43Speaker 1: tell my wife. I say, hey, listen, this isn't my
- 2:45Speaker 1: cup of tea. This is not what you sold it as.
- 2:48Speaker 1: And she goes, yeah, I know, I'm sorry. I thought
- 2:50Speaker 1: it was something different. I thought it was, you know,
- 2:52Speaker 1: different type of show.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Were you just missing a game though over this or
- 2:56Speaker 2: is that what's going on?
- 2:57Speaker 1: So meanwhile, I'm you know, and we live about five
- 2:59Speaker 1: minutes away, and I miss the Cowboys and Packers game,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and you know, I'm just trying to I enjoy NFL football.
- 3:05Speaker 1: And so I tell her, listen, I want to get
- 3:06Speaker 1: out of here, and she goes, really, you didn't enjoy
- 3:09Speaker 1: any of this. I said, no, I haven't enjoyed any
- 3:11Speaker 1: of this at all. I think it's slow. I think,
- 3:14Speaker 1: you know, the music's not very good, et cetera, et cetera.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And so I'm listening this off. Well, I guess I
- 3:19Speaker 1: was talking too loud. And I must mention that during
- 3:22Speaker 1: part of the show, one of the speakers talks about
- 3:25Speaker 1: gratitude and being grateful. So I'm just having a private
- 3:28Speaker 1: conversation with my wife's you know, it's.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Oh boy in the lobby.
- 3:33Speaker 1: No, I'm not being loud. I mean, you know, just regular,
- 3:36Speaker 1: regular voice. And all of a sudden, a woman in
- 3:39Speaker 1: front of us turns around and says to my wife, well,
- 3:42Speaker 1: I guess he missed the part about gratitude. Oh, so
- 3:46Speaker 1: she has decided to interject yourselves into a private conversation.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And so I kind of looked at her and I
- 3:53Speaker 1: didn't say anything.
- 3:54Speaker 2: How many teeth did you knock out?
- 3:56Speaker 3: No?
- 3:56Speaker 1: I didn't, but it just made me more angry, and
- 3:59Speaker 1: I said, we're getting out of here now, let's go.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Let's go. Grab her by the arm, and I said,
- 4:04Speaker 1: you know, and she goes and we you know, we
- 4:06Speaker 1: go storming out and I'm not happy.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Wow, Michael Angelo, get me out of here before I
- 4:11Speaker 4: punch a woman.
- 4:13Speaker 1: No, and then she says I caused the scene. Well wait,
- 4:17Speaker 1: but I was trying to explain to her.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I said, you know, your wife said you caused the scene,
- 4:21Speaker 2: or that lady said you caused the scene.
- 4:23Speaker 1: My wife said I caused the scene. But mind you,
- 4:24Speaker 1: I had I had a regular voice. It was a
- 4:26Speaker 1: private conversation, and this stranger decided to interject into Obviously
- 4:30Speaker 1: they were eaves dropping into our conversation. She apparently was
- 4:34Speaker 1: upset because I didn't like the show.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Well that's yeah. It's a fine line between somebody eavesdropping
- 4:40Speaker 2: on a private conversation or being so loud that you
- 4:42Speaker 2: are they are part of your conversation. That's a fine line.
- 4:45Speaker 2: It's in the eye of the beholder.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Well, she almost need to get a decibel reading to
- 4:49Speaker 3: know where to come down on.
- 4:50Speaker 2: This one, honestly, exactly. I mean, you know, I think
- 4:53Speaker 2: by definition a scene happened. Whether you caused it or not.
- 5:00Speaker 5: I don't know, And I think that's why we've convened
- 5:02Speaker 5: this court of hasty opinions.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Well, this is why I'm here. I want to know
- 5:06Speaker 1: did I cause a scene? Or was this I thought
- 5:08Speaker 1: the woman, you know, the strange woman was completely out
- 5:12Speaker 1: of line. I would never introduct myself into somebody else's conversation.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Did you ever do that?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Yes, Katie, that's what I was just going to go with.
- 5:18Speaker 4: You have to think about the person who is standing
- 5:21Speaker 4: there listening to a couple have a conversation and goes,
- 5:24Speaker 4: I'm jumping in there. Yeah, I want to get in that.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I mean that that's some nosy. I don't think you started.
- 5:30Speaker 2: That is a certain sort of person that decided you're right,
- 5:33Speaker 2: decides hey, there's a looks to be a married couple.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I think I'll jump into the middle of their arguments.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Not only that, but.
- 5:39Speaker 5: The superior tone she strikes. Yes, I guess you missed
- 5:43Speaker 5: the part about gratitude.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Yeah, oh, I'll show you some gratitude.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I Woweah, I hear that.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that that that's one of those things.
- 5:55Speaker 5: She showed her who she is with that comment. I
- 5:59Speaker 5: mean not, hey, dude, some of us are really enjoying this.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Can you let up on the negativity? Even that would
- 6:04Speaker 5: be like what do you what? Do you mind your business?
- 6:07Speaker 3: Ignore me? Or stand there thinking boy, this a whole
- 6:10Speaker 3: has no appreciation for fine art.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I mean I would tell her to leave.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Yeah, you didn't say anything to her period.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Like, you didn't say anybody who likes this as an
- 6:20Speaker 5: fing idiot or anything like that.
- 6:22Speaker 1: No, nothing like that at all.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Now I'm getting into dangerous territory. How long was this
- 6:26Speaker 2: uncomfortable between you and your wife?
- 6:28Speaker 1: Oh? It was just like a minute.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Okay, that's not very long. This wasn't a steely silence
- 6:33Speaker 2: all the way home?
- 6:34Speaker 1: No, no, no, but our house was who made the scene?
- 6:38Speaker 1: Me or this woman? I argued, this woman created the scene,
- 6:41Speaker 1: not me.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Right, I volume is the key, key question. I just
- 6:47Speaker 3: can't see you causing a scene.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Michaelangelo and causing a scene don't go together.
- 6:52Speaker 2: No, they don't.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I know.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, And I'm glad it was a minor thing,
- 6:56Speaker 2: because the whole steely silence all the way home is
- 6:58Speaker 2: a Oh that's a rough one.
- 7:03Speaker 3: She ever think he wants to know more about the
- 7:05Speaker 3: show in question. But I don't want to go there.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I get the feeling you don't want to go there,
- 7:09Speaker 3: so so I won't either.
- 7:10Speaker 2: So how old was it the woman that butted in?
- 7:12Speaker 5: Oh?
- 7:12Speaker 1: I'd say she was in her fifties, tight late fifties.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Man, that is certainly an interesting personality.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Trait to do that. Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Now, one thing about the theater is I noticed that
- 7:22Speaker 1: as soon as we sat down, everybody was much older
- 7:25Speaker 1: than us, and so I was like, okay, this is
- 7:26Speaker 1: a different type of crowd. I mean, everybody was older.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Did that woman look like she might have participated in
- 7:32Speaker 4: like a woman's march?
- 7:35Speaker 3: I can't see that. I don't know.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Sorry that there was a rancor.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But there was two things that bothered me. Two things
- 7:47Speaker 1: that ranked me was first of all, I don't like
- 7:51Speaker 1: having my time wasted and second condescension. Those two things
- 7:55Speaker 1: I think bugged me more than anything.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Well, just not digging the show. I mean, that's that's
- 8:00Speaker 2: that's a tough one. I mean, if you're if you're
- 8:02Speaker 2: the person you're with is digging it.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Sat through that.
- 8:07Speaker 5: I wasn't exactly digging innumerable, but she wasn't digging it in.
- 8:13Speaker 1: No, So that wasn't Yeah, that wasn't. The issue was.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Screaming that the show effing sucked.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I'm gonna start doing that when
- 8:21Speaker 2: I hear people arguing, I'm just gonna jump in them in.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Like you know what, I think.
- 8:28Speaker 5: You didn't ask me, But I think I'm with him.
- 8:32Speaker 1: All right, Thanks guys. So I didn't create a scene, right, correct?
- 8:35Speaker 1: All right? I feel good now, okay, well, I guess
- 8:41Speaker 1: that's it.
