- 1:25Speaker 1: Let's get it started.
- 1:28Speaker 1: The North Florida sports net All right, got NFL picks coming up before we get there.
- 1:59Speaker 1: The rankings came out.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Usually do our college football show Wednesday.
- 2:06Speaker 1: So we're going to do a little quick hitter here about the rankings and a couple of matchups this weekend We'll have.
- 2:12Speaker 1: We'll look forward to the games, the college games, more probably Thursday evening or Friday We'll get.
- 2:19Speaker 1: We'll get in depth about the matchups, but wanted to talk about the rankings that came out and I don't think anybody was surprised seeing Florida State go to five.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I got Jimmy Reno with me here, is that what?
- 2:34Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 2:35Speaker 1: What was your initial thought looking at it?
- 2:38Speaker 2: I figured we would go to five.
- 2:39Speaker 2: You know, if we would have beat Northern Alabama the same score with Jordan Travis healthy, then it would have been.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Maybe you would have had a shot, but I think they would have done it.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I figured they were going to reward Washington for going on the road and beating Oregon State.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I mean, what I didn't enjoy and what I think is just purely for for television and entertainment, was, you know, Herb Street and Reese Davis, their takes on it, their takes on FSU especially.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah, and the idea that you need to yeah, that you need to now take Florida State and look at them from this point, going forward as a team that doesn't have a resume.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Essentially is what they're saying.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's ridiculous.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a team game.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Now I I think it's strictly for viewership.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and people to keep watching and talking about, like we're doing right now.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I think there's no way, if Florida State finds a way to win the next two games, that they're going to be left out of the college football playoff.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Um, so you know, and I'm not, you know, Ohio State, Michigan got to play, so it's not really that big of a deal, Should Florida?
- 3:56Speaker 1: yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: But the scenario that you're referring to and let's go ahead and get there, yeah Is the one where you have an undefeated big 10 champion and say Washington wins, that thing goes undefeated, undefeated.
- 4:09Speaker 1: They have those at this as the top two teams in the neck.
- 4:12Speaker 1: What they were talking about was Alabama beating Georgia.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Georgia right, it's championship.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So then?
- 4:19Speaker 1: But then you said they were like, oh, but you can't have them, jump Texas.
- 4:22Speaker 1: But then they're like, well, we'll have both of them in over an undefeated FSU.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Well, here's here's Texas at three, alabama at four.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what they were pretty much.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I'm going to be honest with you, man Like I'm.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I was surprised they weren't already pushing the narrative that even if Georgia loses to Alabama and that title game, they might still be worthy of the shot.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I told you that they wouldn't, but you saw again another.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Another thing to watch here the rankings.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Here they did put Missouri ahead of Louisville, which is stupid.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, come on, it's stupid.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I mean it, they just did it.
- 4:59Speaker 1: For that reason, it looks like I mean I don't know.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Well, they did put a two loss team ahead of a one loss team in the SEC.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm just saying that they did that this week.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So Boatty and Louisville went, went on the road and beat Miami which is not an easy thing to do.
- 5:22Speaker 2: That's kind of how they've.
- 5:22Speaker 2: That's how they've always done it in the SEC, though.
- 5:25Speaker 1: It was on the back end all year and they beat Notre Dame, handily beat Notre Dame, and to get jumped by a team with two losses is flat out ridiculous.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I know, but it's in the top 10 and it's just like what's going on here.
- 5:40Speaker 1: They setting up for something.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:44Speaker 2: The nightmare scenario for for every undefeated team should be, you know, Alabama beating Georgia.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I don't, I don't know, man, I don't think that you, I don't think that you can put a one loss conference champion ahead of an undefeated conference.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah, not the same.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Well, it depends on who they play in the conference title.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You know, like I, don't think it does If you're undefeated and you win no, I'm talking about for the one loss team Right.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Right, it's going to that they're going ahead, because if Georgia wins, then there you go, and I think that's going to happen anyway.
- 6:20Speaker 1: That's the benefit of, that's the benefit of playing in the SEC no-transcript.
- 6:26Speaker 1: No they.
- 6:26Speaker 1: If Georgia loses that game, I don't get out of here.
- 6:29Speaker 1: They lost.
- 6:30Speaker 2: No, no, I'm talking about, I'm strictly talking about for Alabama versus Texas.
- 6:35Speaker 1: You know, should it come down to those two teams as the one lost comfort, it would be better for me it would be better if Oklahoma was that team in the big 12, then Texas could have wins their only loss of the year.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah, oklahoma just looks like a better win than it than a cowboy team.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Oklahoma State right it would be if they were ranked.
- 6:55Speaker 1: It would be on the cusp of it.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Well, and what you're seeing now is so, man, you know they can't let their bias not show a little bit.
- 7:06Speaker 2: You know Reese Davis politicking that hard, you know that where he go to school at.
- 7:11Speaker 2: But I don't think that's the thing.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I don't think Alabama fans have anything to worry about.
- 7:15Speaker 2: No, there's no way that.
- 7:17Speaker 2: If you win the SEC, I think there's a way that you could be left out if they win the SEC.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah, the number one team undefeated.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I think they jump Texas.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, nobody.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Nobody cares about that early season win.
- 7:32Speaker 1: If that, that would make more sense to me than having two one lost teams jump an undefeated conference champ Right.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So yeah, the head to head, which you know is supposed to be something that's measured, though.
- 7:46Speaker 1: So you had those teams match up ten years went into Alabama.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That's where the fear is.
- 7:50Speaker 2: That's where the fear lies with Alabama.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Is they think that you know there is actually legitimate argument made.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I am less naive.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Like it's ESPN, it's the SEC, it's if that were to hold their show.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Man.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but if that, even though it's Texas even though Texas has a lot of pool and they're, you know, one of the blue bloods and everything like that, like Made till next year when you're in the SEC, then you can reap those awards, but not, not this year, right?
- 8:19Speaker 2: So you just, you know, using eyeballs like Alabama looks better right now.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I, I don't.
- 8:24Speaker 2: That's what they're going to do.
- 8:25Speaker 2: They're going to say, hey, we're going to look at resume, we're also going to factor in you know, their metrics and their eyeballs and they just, if Alabama wins the SEC, they have a spot in the college football playoff Bottom line it would be over.
- 8:38Speaker 1: You would have to just say it's over a Texas thing, you can't leave out undefeated.
- 8:43Speaker 2: No, no, that's what I'm saying, champion, now exactly.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And that that would.
- 8:47Speaker 1: That would be just obscene.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I mean, I don't care how good they're playing.
- 8:53Speaker 1: This is the same season where they benched their quarterback and lost at home.
- 8:59Speaker 1: So yeah, so you know, we're just wanting to get on here, talk about that.
- 9:06Speaker 1: It's a five.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I don't think FSU fans need to worry about anything.
- 9:10Speaker 1: It's Florida week.
- 9:11Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that game later.
- 9:13Speaker 1: And that's going to be a tough game, and I and the committee member said that too.
- 9:17Speaker 1: They acknowledged that Louisville is going to be a top 10 opponent.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I see them beating Kentucky, but you hope you're going to be a top 10 opponent.
- 9:26Speaker 2: You hope you want yeah At this point to beat Kentucky.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of things are yet to be decided, but you know it worked.
- 9:35Speaker 1: They just poking at you and that you just hope that there's sense on the committee to not do that.
- 9:43Speaker 1: It did, though.
- 9:44Speaker 1: 10 years ago they put two one lost teams ahead of an undefeated Florida state team, even though everyone's in, you know you're not holding one out.
- 9:52Speaker 2: There's definitely precedent for them to just kind of make up their own narrative, but undefeated to leave them out is just would be.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Oh my God it would.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I might be done with the sport.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and I you know, like I mentioned Reece Davis, I think that's why you're seeing him take aim at Florida state, especially because you know if they're out of there, even if they're undefeated, then that opens up a spot for Texas and Alabama.
- 10:16Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, that's what they would want they would be.
- 10:18Speaker 1: It would be Ohio state, washington, texas, alabama.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I mean, you know that that with a undefeated Florida state team and don't least it out there, but I don't think that's going to happen.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I don't think that you know.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Number one you got to play in the swamp and yet they're playing for a bowl game.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not great, but it's still down there and they're in this vaunted SEC conference.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Number two you got to play a team that is going to be a top 10 team.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's not some eight and three or you know six and five ACC team that somehow got to the title game.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you know there.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So I don't think we got anything to worry about if you go undefeated.
- 11:00Speaker 2: What you got to worry about is going undefeated, yeah.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and I any any FSU fans.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I think they're focused on the task of hand.
- 11:07Speaker 1: You got an arch rival game at Florida that throw the records out.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I mean so much so.
- 11:13Speaker 1: And then you have a championship to play for, and this team hasn't sniffed one of those in a decade.
- 11:18Speaker 1: So you know, you this, I mean quarterbacks, your leaders out.
- 11:23Speaker 1: So you know you won't put blinders on focus.
- 11:27Speaker 1: But I would say if you're going to talk about, you know, a quarterback getting, you know, left off one of these teams at Florida.
- 11:35Speaker 1: If I was to look at these teams, say if Bo Nix was knocked out of Oregon, I think then he means more to that offense than I say Jordan Travis does to FSU's offense.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Is that fair.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I mean I'm not trying to.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I'm not trying to.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I think it's just more of a how you see how their offenses run.
- 11:54Speaker 1: We don't need Jordan Travis to throw six touchdowns and a half.
- 11:56Speaker 1: We don't want him to.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:59Speaker 1: You know it's better when he's.
- 11:59Speaker 1: When we beat Miami two years ago he only threw a few passes, you know he just he runs the offense well, but I think they can be you have to give them a chance to fill that position and like if you had a guy like Bo Nix or Penix if any of them went down right now, it would mean way more.
- 12:21Speaker 1: If you looked at, if you watched all these, if you watch this team all year, you could you be able to see that they're trying to use that kind of narrative that he was everything.
- 12:29Speaker 1: But I don't think that's the case.
- 12:31Speaker 1: There's more on this team we have.
- 12:34Speaker 1: We have NFL receivers, nfl running backs tight ends deepest that FSU's had in a while.
- 12:39Speaker 1: And that segment pissed me off, so it worked.
- 12:44Speaker 2: They got it.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what they do.
- 12:47Speaker 2: And then you can't expect the national media.
- 12:49Speaker 2: You know a lot of them will just see FSU like they see those other teams.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Um, well they're.
- 12:55Speaker 2: You know their backup can't be good and you know, maybe some of those teams do have another backup that might be able to operate it.
- 13:01Speaker 2: They've actually seen Tate play in right in a game situation but he's going to have his chance right now.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Like this is more than large enough sample size yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 1: You have a good team around you, quarterback and be picked up.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Everybody else can step up their play.
- 13:15Speaker 1: You saw 10 years ago with Cardale Jones hasn't done a damn thing since except win those a few games.
- 13:21Speaker 1: So you got to give a guy that's been on the team, who's a red shirt junior, you know, let him and you have two games to see that and that's that would be.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I have a feeling that that's gonna be looked at.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna fall for I think it's just they're get poking the bear trying to get ratings.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And you're right, they did it worked.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the name of the game, man.
- 13:44Speaker 1: All right.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Well, we got NFL picks to do and we're gonna do some more college football preview later in the week, probably Friday.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Um, thank you, jimmy, and stick around for the picks, man you know it.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Alright, 12 picks.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Battle for the Latin jug continues.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Let's update the standings before we get started.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Justin has reached the century mark and he is in the lead with 100 wins with and had nine last week.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks for joining us again.
- 14:29Speaker 1: In second place, al, back in second place.
- 14:33Speaker 1: He had nine wins last week.
- 14:35Speaker 1: He's in 95 wins.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Um Mike's in third 94 wins.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I have 92 91 wins, I'm sorry and Jimmy 81 wins.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Well, all right, man, All right.
- 14:52Speaker 2: I was born in the 80s.
- 14:55Speaker 1: And we're doing it a day early because of the holiday.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It starts tomorrow With your annual game in Detroit, as the Packers are coming to town to take on the eight and two Detroit Lions.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Man, it's just crazy.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is, justin, you're our leader.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Let's start with you, man, who you got in this?
- 15:20Speaker 4: I'm going to Make the exact same pick that I made in the final game of last year, and I am taking Detroit over the Packers.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and what a game that was last year.
- 15:32Speaker 1: They didn't even need it, they had already been eliminated from the playoffs and they went into Green Bay when Green Bay had to have it and eliminated.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Then that was impressive to kind of pave the way for this year.
- 15:41Speaker 1: You could see now, all right, I'm pretty sure let's go, let's go.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Wow, who you got in this, yeah, yep, and Mike, who you got?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yes, sir, I'm gonna take the Lions too.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I mean, you got to take them here, there, but Green Bay coming off the big win over Staley in the charges.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Jimmy Go with those motor city man, yeah, no.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Lions across the board.
- 16:10Speaker 1: All right, all right, let's.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Let's move on to the next game, and that is in Dallas, as the former Cowboys and Indians used to do that and the, but now it's the commanders and the Cowboys, hmm, and Dallas is gonna do what Dallas does.
- 16:28Speaker 1: But you know what, sam, how might have a chance here?
- 16:31Speaker 1: You got Rod Rivera coming in, jimmy, any.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Any way, you're taking an upset here.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, cuz I never want to pick the Cowboys.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Do I think it's gonna happen?
- 16:41Speaker 2: Probably not, but yeah, upset pick of the week.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Give me the commies.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Oh my goodness.
- 16:49Speaker 1: There he goes again.
- 16:50Speaker 1: All right, let's move.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Let's go to out who you got in this.
- 16:56Speaker 4: What do things you're going on?
- 16:58Speaker 1: It's the commanders, your commanders, out in Dallas.
- 17:03Speaker 3: You know what I'm going with the command.
- 17:06Speaker 1: All right, man, look at that two pigs, all right.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Well, I'm gonna go ahead and jump on that and take the Cowboys.
- 17:13Speaker 1: They're gonna dominate this game, mike, who you got in this?
- 17:18Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Cowboys to.
- 17:19Speaker 3: I think Justin needs to take the commanders to keep up with Al, though.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah, justin.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Never pick a commie, all right All right, yep, all right.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Then the, the nightcap, which looked like a better game before Sunday, and Geno Smith was hurt and that's really.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I disagree with that statement.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I think it looked like a much worse game before Geno Smith got hurt, I think it's a lot better.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Niners fan over here.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Niners big time win.
- 17:54Speaker 1: They look, as long as they have their guys healthy, they look like the dominant team.
- 17:58Speaker 1: But I'm taking them over Seattle Jimmy.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I'm gonna keep picking them.
- 18:04Speaker 2: All right, they're actually winning when I pick them, so all right, al.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Oh, wow, wow.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It's in Seattle on the shore week, Mike.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I think this is gonna be a little bit closer.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I'll still take the 49ers.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I am Justin.
- 18:25Speaker 4: I take the Niners and the points, no matter what the spread is.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Yeah, dude lock man, I don't think, I don't think he's got it.
- 18:31Speaker 3: So so do you know, smith came back into that game, right, but have they ruled them out for this one?
- 18:36Speaker 3: I?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Think he's out.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Okay, I'm not even.
- 18:41Speaker 4: I thought he came back in and ran the two-minute drive at the end of that game, even if he's not both the box and out the first quarter.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I like that.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I like what he said.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Both go to the Black.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Friday game the first one ever.
- 18:55Speaker 1: It's on Amazon.
- 18:56Speaker 1: You can stream it for free.
- 18:57Speaker 1: If you don't have Amazon Prime, congratulations on that.
- 19:03Speaker 1: It's in New York, they.
- 19:08Speaker 1: They now move.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Jack Wilson a third string.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Really yeah who they gonna give the Starting nod to the Belkier, or?
- 19:18Speaker 1: whatever.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Who?
- 19:20Speaker 3: I've got a stem boil.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Tim Boyle boy.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry, tim Boyle is getting the start.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I'm taking the dolphins big in this.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Who the shit is Tim Boyle.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I don't know Anybody know who Tim Boyle is.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Nope he got me.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Is he's Ron Boyle's son?
- 19:38Speaker 1: man who you got in this out.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Justin, I know you got the dolphins.
- 19:47Speaker 4: ETS suck, suck, suck.
- 19:50Speaker 1: And, mike, you got the dolphins as well, right, you know it.
- 19:54Speaker 2: All right, hey, you didn't ask me.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I okay, jimmy.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Where's this game being played?
- 19:58Speaker 2: In New York, in New York.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, I'm gonna take the dolphins.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Interesting thing to watch here is Robert Salin, mike McDaniel.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:10Speaker 2: McDonald's.

- 28:42Speaker 1: Oh, you know what?
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'm going to come back to that later.

- 34:36Speaker 1: Right, all right.
- 34:37Speaker 1: The Bears, you know, look like they were going to upset the lines until the end, which they do, that a lot.

- 37:13Speaker 2: Yeah, they shot well last time and he shoot 40 something percent.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I'm tell you what I'm impressed with Warley they didn't shoot it as well as they did in the game against UNLV, but yeah, warley came to play.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that's.
- 37:25Speaker 2: That's as good as I've seen him play in his career.
- 37:29Speaker 1: If he can step his offensive game up, that's huge.
- 37:31Speaker 1: It really is because he, he is, changes team completely like these are.
- 37:37Speaker 2: these are two wins that, coming into the season, you probably wouldn't have penciled in for Florida State Right, you probably would have been like I will probably use lose the UNLV and then certainly lose to the ranked team.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Well, if you put that three game stretch at Florida, unlv, Colorado, and both at neutral sites, you would take two and one definitely oh without, without question, that's yeah, and that's the reason is because the new guys that they have on this team and starts right with walk ins man.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I was just about to bring him up and ask.
- 38:13Speaker 2: I want to ask you a question, just, I know it's early, you're only five games into the season, but this early is it fair to say that you've, at worst, come out even in the Matthew Cleveland, you know, leaving and picking up, well, you're walk ins.
- 38:30Speaker 2: I mean just what he's done in five games and he's been the guy that that.
- 38:35Speaker 2: You know.
- 38:36Speaker 2: They were kind of hoping that Cleveland would be.
- 38:39Speaker 2: I don't know, man, I think if he continues, obviously, if he continues to play the way he has, you know, florida stays really good, but I mean he's the best player.
- 38:48Speaker 1: it looks like.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I mean he can.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Those first tile yeah.
- 38:52Speaker 1: He can.
- 38:52Speaker 1: He's what an athletic specimen.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Big pickup.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Huge pickup, he can rebound, he can, he can really pass the ball.
- 39:01Speaker 1: And credit I mean he had four assists last against Colorado 18 points, 11 rebounds.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's a part of his game, that that you really didn't get a lot about a Matthew Cleveland.
- 39:12Speaker 2: I mean, he did not that he wasn't capable, it just wasn't really.
- 39:15Speaker 2: I don't know, man.
- 39:17Speaker 2: It just it looks like a completely different team, different chemistry.
- 39:20Speaker 2: You can see it on the court.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, but he had eight assists and 19 points the prior game.
- 39:27Speaker 1: So you're looking at a guy who can do all three facets.
- 39:31Speaker 1: He's a five tool player.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, if you can get that him and you can get that complimented by Warley because he dees up, I mean it all starts with it, all starts with that defense.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Right, that's what's good.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to get back to your roots.
- 39:46Speaker 1: But offensively it looked a lot better and this might be a team that will go on.
- 39:52Speaker 1: We'll go in stages where they don't score Right.
- 39:54Speaker 2: You're going to have that, but I think I think that's fair.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think we still have enough offensive firepower to make it better than it was at, say, the beginning of Hamilton's tenure, when you you had to rely on defense.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Yeah it, bob Miller hasn't played well yet.
- 40:14Speaker 1: I think he's still got he still.
- 40:16Speaker 1: He played better in this game, but he still has he's being a little passive.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he's man.
- 40:24Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised he's got some leg issues.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Okay, and I guess that comes with being Seven Seen Ganey play.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll get him.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that'd be nice.
- 40:35Speaker 2: You like to see that experience.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Defensive presence down low, primo Spears, yeah, they're still open here, sure would be great if they wouldn't drag their feet and just Hopefully they can get a ruling on that soon.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I, you know.
- 40:50Speaker 1: But they're playing a lot of guys.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Yeah, they're still flexing depth.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Even without those two, ganey and Spears, they're still showing that you know they're going to go what 11 deep at least.
- 41:01Speaker 1: You have a second team that's capable too, with Chandler Jackson, you know, darren Green, cam Fletcher, nickelberry, you know, these are guys that can put up points.
- 41:12Speaker 2: A deep bench.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:13Speaker 2: So a guy like Cam Fletcher can have an off night Right and he did yesterday and you still get production out of that bench, exactly.
- 41:20Speaker 1: One of them.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Whoever goes with gets a hot hand.
- 41:23Speaker 1: You go with them.
- 41:24Speaker 1: It was Worley, and I mean Watkins looked like an all conference performer.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and I mean, if you get consistency like that, you know, throughout the season you were coming into the year hoping, hey, maybe we can just be a postseason team, make the NIT.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Right.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Well, they shot 62% against UNLV.
- 41:45Speaker 1: So they're like, oh, that can't last.
- 41:47Speaker 1: No, it's not going to you're not going to hit like that To the next game to follow that up.
- 41:51Speaker 2: With what was it?
- 41:52Speaker 2: 47, 47%, 47%, that's.
- 41:57Speaker 1: And to hold the other team 34.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:59Speaker 1: That's.
- 42:00Speaker 1: That's good to see if they can get some rhythm offensively.
- 42:02Speaker 1: This could be really.
- 42:03Speaker 1: This could.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you think it may be outside.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Hey, hey, turn it a bit.
- 42:07Speaker 1: man Pick the 11th in the ACC yeah.
- 42:10Speaker 2: And you're not going to you know the teams like Duke and Caroline in Miami they got the, the star studded rosters.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, they bought them, they paid for them this, so they earned it.
- 42:21Speaker 2: But you want to be that next tier for Florida state, cause you can still.
- 42:28Speaker 2: You can still get in the tournament even when the ACC is down.
- 42:30Speaker 2: You know, if you're a Well it's big to get these non-conference ones.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Yeah, and even though they lost in the road, it was still on the road.
- 42:37Speaker 1: You have a chance to come home against Georgia.
- 42:41Speaker 2: You got to get that way, that's a huge one.
- 42:43Speaker 1: I mean they didn't have this many wins until what Win last year?
- 42:47Speaker 2: Oh, they didn't win win number three until, I think, december 13th of last season.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Okay, so we're already at four wins.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and you got a preseason conference championship.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Yeah, you want a tournament?
- 42:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that's, that's good.
- 43:00Speaker 1: That's really solid for these guys.
- 43:02Speaker 1: It's going to only bring them together.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Like we used to say back in the days got them loving each other.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Yeah, just got to get everybody loving everybody, get everybody loving everybody.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I think this team has a little more, like you were saying, a little more offensive firepower than those early ham teams.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and if they can bring, I think there's no question about that.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Now they're still lacking Rebounding.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and that comes with just aggressiveness.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Open to see Ganey too, the senior guy from the Ivy League.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Yeah, ganey could really help yeah.
- 43:33Speaker 2: He hasn't played in forever.
- 43:36Speaker 2: No, he gives you that size down there.
- 43:38Speaker 2: It's the broad shoulders, the grown man kind of strength, but very positive, very good turnaround after getting really handled and against your rival.
- 43:50Speaker 1: It's three in a row losing to the Florida Gators and basketball, but they turned it around in Daytona with some quality wins against UNLV and against Colorado, both teams that I think are going to be pretty good this year.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Colorado is going to be a tournament team they expect them to be, and UNLV you know it's still UNLV basketball, they're a brand name.
- 44:15Speaker 2: So you, yeah, really nice job, man.
- 44:19Speaker 2: It's good to see.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Good to see FSU basketball.
- 44:20Speaker 1: They continue to dominate overtime.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Man 14 straight NCAA record man Incredible, man Incredible that I mean that's.
- 44:31Speaker 1: That's just amazing to see.
- 44:33Speaker 1: It's like when they go to overtime it's over, for if you're playing against them.
- 44:38Speaker 2: You know why?
- 44:39Speaker 1: Cause of that depth, get the depth it gets every time you have it.
- 44:43Speaker 1: It's a fresh start.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and the defense can lock, clamp down, and they did.
- 44:48Speaker 1: And you saw it in the overtime against Colorado.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Colorado didn't score until what Two minutes left in it.
- 44:54Speaker 1: They can't.
- 44:56Speaker 1: They blanked them.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's.
- 44:59Speaker 1: It's good to see this.
- 45:00Speaker 1: They're going to get the backyard dog deep fence back in the FSU seminal uniform.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Hopefully they can get some rebounding help and they'll be back at it at the tuck against the Georgia Bulldogs next Wednesday night.
- 45:14Speaker 2: That'd be.
- 45:14Speaker 2: That's another big win, another big win, opportunity right there, man.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, let's, let's get it done.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Yes, all right, man, all right, we'll talk to you next time.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Wait, hold on a second.
- 45:26Speaker 1: I didn't hear that.
- 45:28Speaker 1: What Is that, oh?
- 45:36Speaker 3: we had to go.
- 45:38Speaker 1: We got to get on.
- 45:39Speaker 1: We got a few minutes.
- 45:40Speaker 1: A few minutes College basketball.
- 45:44Speaker 1: You know I'm a Miami's going to be good yeah.
- 45:48Speaker 1: They got that daggum monster down low.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they got.
- 45:55Speaker 2: They added some new pieces too.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Some guys came back.
- 45:58Speaker 1: They got a guy from FSU.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Larry Nega's a really good coach.
- 46:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Yes, I wouldn't.
- 46:04Speaker 1: That's still going to be a fun game.
- 46:06Speaker 1: You watch out for Marquette and shock shock is smart.
- 46:11Speaker 2: I don't trust him to not blow it in the tournament, but he looked really good.
- 46:16Speaker 1: All right, who else?
- 46:17Speaker 1: Who else is supposed to be good?
- 46:19Speaker 2: this year, man, I mean Alabama is going to be good.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Duke's supposed to be good.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Duke will be good.
- 46:25Speaker 2: North Carolina was in a tight one with Northern Arizona.
- 46:29Speaker 2: They might I pulled ahead, I don't know, but they'll probably be up there.
- 46:33Speaker 1: This is where you're going to see that discrepancy and cash by the conferences and schools and when it comes, you'll see a little bit in basketball.
- 46:45Speaker 1: You'll see it.
- 46:45Speaker 1: You've seen it huge already in baseball.
- 46:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Look at LSU's championship last year.
- 46:50Speaker 2: You'll see the schools that are committed to NIL and basketball and those that aren't.
- 46:55Speaker 1: I mean we've got to do it in football now and you're going to have to do it across the board.
- 46:59Speaker 1: You have that kind of funding.
- 47:01Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if anybody's doing it across the board with all three sports Right, lsu is doing it with two.
- 47:10Speaker 2: That's coming close.
- 47:12Speaker 2: We'll see what they, what they generate, but you know they've had problems with that basketball program.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Off the court, so to speak.
- 47:18Speaker 2: So Yep.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Still, though basketball season early underway I guess it's the you want to have good off-season resume.
- 47:34Speaker 1: You know good out of conference resume, especially when the ACC is supposed to be down this year.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but yes we're.
- 47:40Speaker 1: We still got top teams like Miami and Duke in that conference.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Right and you have opportunities to get big wins.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 2: So if you're a team like Florida state, you know you might not have a realistic shot of winning more than maybe one or two of those games against the top team, just based on the talent discrepancy.
- 47:57Speaker 2: But if you look, if you lock up that out of conference schedule, then you really strengthen your chances.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Man, that's what they started looking at for teams like FSU is currently.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Well, we got a lot of some.
- 48:10Speaker 1: We got some football games to talk about next time.
- 48:12Speaker 1: So we'll do that.
- 48:13Speaker 1: We'll talk to you that time right here on the North Florida sports network.
- 48:18Speaker 4: We had to go.
- 48:19Speaker 4: All right, we got a shuttle, all right.
