- 0:03SPEAKER_01: Hello everyone.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: Welcome into Crushing the Strongholds.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: This is a podcast where we turn pain into power, trauma into triumph, and a place where we get to expose the lies of the enemy through the truth and love and grace of Jesus Christ.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: And one way we do that is by our testimony and how we tell our story.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: And today I have an exciting, exciting announcement.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: I have a guest with me today, and this is my first interview, so you'll have to bear with me.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: But my guest is an amazing guy.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: I've known him for just about a little over a year.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: We met through uh KBA Academy, um, through getting my bachelor's and master's degree.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: He's been putting up with me for a whole year now, uh, coaching me, but he's been way much more than that.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: He's become a friend and somebody that um um I enjoy talking with and praying with and getting to know.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: But he also is a digital creator for um Sidekick Media Group.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: He is the CEO and founder of that group, and he's also a spirit-led visionary coach and consultant, and as well as a best selling author.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: I actually have his book today, so I hear it's hard to get it so if you want to borrow it from me, you know, just great.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I have it.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: I got it before it ran out.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: It's really great.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: It teaches you how to get in there and work with social media because I really in the beginning, Terrace can vouch for this.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: I really needed a lot of help with that.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: And he said, Hey, I have a book.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: And I said, Great, where is it?
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: So true story, wasn't it?
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: I was so excited about it.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: So I'm not it's out of print now, which is which is I mean, because it's it's so old, but uh people still ask for it.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: It's it's crazy.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: There for a while, I kid you not, there for like a couple years, like there were there were uh organizations that were buying hundreds of them and giving them to their leaders.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I was blown away at the traction that book got.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's really good.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Mate, my favorite part actually of the book was where you're talking about temptation on social media and how it was causing some problems and how people like because for a long time I used to think, oh, I need to, you know, as a Christian, stay away from social media because you know everything in the world is there.
- 2:19SPEAKER_01: And so, you know, you kind of get bombarded with it.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: But there's also a lot of really great information on teaching you how to utilize uh social media for your own benefit.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: So I got quite a bit out of it.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: So I was thankful that it was more you know available for me to purchase.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: So hopefully if anybody wants it, I'll put I'll put it in the show notes so they can look that up.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Um also um on that note, I'm going to let you talk to Terrace because he is here today to talk about crushing strongholds with me, because that's what this podcast is about.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: And we want to um just reach out and help people that are going through struggles of their own and be able to um know that they're not alone in it.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: We were just discussing that before we started recording, so that's pretty awesome.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Um so I'm gonna let Terrace come on and say a little bit about himself and then share his testimony with us.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: So thank you for joining me today.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: I well, first of all, when you asked me, you know, a while back about being on your on your show, I was so excited because I resonate with this topic so deeply.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: It's something that that I feel like God has has really used in my life um in helping me crush my own strongholds and uh and and really expose the lies of the enemy.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, through those victories, through through those even testimonies of God's grace, you know, He's He's empowering me to be able to help others.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And uh this podcast is just a vehicle, Mickey, of being able to release that anointing and be able to help people, set people free, give voice to what the enemy is doing in their life and and how God speaks to their identity and and speaks to who they are in Him.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: And so I've experienced that in my own life, and so it was a no-brainer for me when you asked me to be here uh to show up and and share.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm really, really glad that you're here.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: And I know that um you have a lot of work of your own that you're doing with a similar topic with identity and um exposing the lies of the enemy.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: And I think that lately I was as we were talking last week in our coaching session, that um um it was interesting that you were talking about the lives of the enemy.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: And I said, hey, that's crazy because I just started talking about that myself.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Like God is like opening Christians' eyes to what the enemy is doing because the world is so blind with it.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: And um, instead of living in fear of it, we need to be aware of it and we need to start working through it and we need to start crushing it because if we don't, then we're just gonna be, you know, sitting idle with everyone else that's sitting in that fear.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: And um, fear is such a stronghold in our life.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: It it really plays a part in um keeping us hostage and keeping us stuck where God doesn't want us to be.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: He gave us a purpose and he created us for a reason.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: So we have to get out there and um start exposing those lies.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: And I love what you're doing.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: So I want to hear your testimony, what you have for us today.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: I'm excited because I haven't heard this.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: So I'm excited.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Well, I you know, one of the questions that you asked me um early on when we started talking about doing this interview was was there a particular stronghold that you know that I could share that I've overcome?
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: And I think I I think the the thing that that I've um experienced is I've had many strongholds, but a lot of them really go back to a root, you know, it's a root of something, it's a root of a root or a spirit of something that uh was born in in my life, or you know, and and and the enemy was behind, you know, just making that root flourish and and grow and you know, become part of our life and become part of our identity.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: And that's really that's really what people are grappling with today.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: And I think more often than not, the one that that I've struggled with over the years is rejection.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: That is that is one that I've struggled with.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: And it goes back to even my childhood where I I felt rejection, you know, and it wasn't even limited to just one person.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: It was it was, you know, I felt rejected by numerous people.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: And you know, um, it was something that I internalized, uh, that I perceived.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: You know, there's there's different uh ways that we really kind of accept, you know, that spirit on us and and in us, and we we we allow it to take root.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: And the enemy, again, is is behind it.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: If he can get it to take root in our life, if he can get labels or or that spirit to to really just, you know, uh the word stick is coming to mind, like stick to us, you know.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: If he could just like, you know, get us to get us to resonate with it and accept it and and grasp it, um, then then he gets us, he gets us kind of caught up in that that web of of lies, you know.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: And so uh we you know, we have different strongholds, all of us, but uh the one that's been most prevalent in my life is rejection.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: And I would say that, you know, throughout my life, I can look and see how you know I experienced the spirit of rejection and how it brought shame and and how it it uh made me feel lesser.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: And you know, it really just you know there was a devaluing of my worth.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: And and I and I really what it comes down to is I I I did not see my identity in Christ.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: And as I as I, you know, even through school, I would, I would really, you know, seek to get the validation I needed from from teachers and from my peers and all these things, you know, and and you know, I I got some of that, but it continued on, you know, through through high school and college, and and even as I entered the workforce and and you know, uh the marketplace and and started even growing as an adult, I I saw this prevalent in my life.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: And maybe you can resonate with this if you're listening to this, you know, that you might have dealt with some of the same things.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: You might have dealt with that spirit because you've you embodied that rejection that the enemy had in your life.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, for you, it might be gravitating towards that validation or it might be gravitating towards a title or position or things like that.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: That's something that I struggled with over the years, and uh, you know, it it wasn't until it kind of came to a head just you know, just a number of years ago, where I literally had a full-blown identity crisis.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: And God, God, you know, I think God just said enough.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: Like, let me, let me, let me settle this in the court of heaven.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, he settled it, you know, he spoke his his word into me.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: And the enemy, the enemy, you know, tried and tried to to still kill and destroy me.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's just plain and simple.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Uh, the facts.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: He's tried to do it for years.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: And uh, he's tried to to throw labels at me, he's tried to get whatever he could to stick, and it's not been successful.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: And uh, I'm on to him, and now I'm exposing him.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: I'm exposing the lies, I'm exposing this the lies and how to fight back.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm even doing through my current work.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: Um, but you know, God settled it in the court of heaven, and uh, you know, he, you know, it was it was a process of of growing, and I know we're gonna kind of unpack some of this of what that looked like and um how I got freedom and things like that.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: But I'll tell you, like, you know, you could look at your life right now and you could probably point to a label or a you know, the the spirit of something that has taken root in your life that is not of God, it's not of God, and for me, one was the spirit of rejection.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: And so I would say that more than anything has been the one that I have crushed with the help of the Lord, with the empowerment of the Lord.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: He has broken it off of my life.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: But having said that, I will say it doesn't mean that it goes away.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: It's broken off my life, but it it it kind of returns and presents itself, and it wants me to grasp onto it.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: The enemy wants it like because he because he know, he knows, like he knows what we what we struggle with, what we've struggled with, what we've tried to crush, what we've broken free from.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: And so why not present it again?
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: It might be in a new packaging or a new angle or something like that, but he wants us to grab onto it again and accept it and and receive that into our life.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: And so I think one further word that I would offer your audience is that God can break it off of your life, God can give you freedom, you know, through his word, through his power, through his spirit and grace, but it will present itself again and again and again.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: And for me, it's it's almost a uh almost a daily occurrence where I'll see it in some form or fashion.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: And now that we live in a world of social media and you know, the world is so hateful and cold and you know, all these things, like it will, you know, it will present itself.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: And I have to immediately in those moments say, no, I I'm choosing to partner with God, not with this.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: When you were when you were going through that rejection in your life, was there anybody in your life, like um a family member or friend, did you tell anybody that you were struggling with it, or did you just kind of carry it all by yourself?
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: I think I carried it by myself.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: And and here's the deal is that I don't think I even recognized that.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: I did not recognize that that, you know, even as a young child, I I remember, I remember feeling it.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: I could look back on it and I could recognize it now.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I I I don't think I recognized it then for what it was.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: You know, what what we when we initially encounter it, and for many of us it was as children, I think, Mickey, that it it is a it's a moment where we accept it because we feel like, well, that must be true.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: If that person rejects me, or if that person treats me this way, or if that person labels me this, then it must be true because why would they lie to me?
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Why would they make me feel this way if they love me?
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: But the the truth of the matter is they're partnering with the enemy.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: They might love you, but they're partnering with the enemy and what they're doing to you and how they're treating you.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: And uh and so that that's that's what I recognize now that I did not recognize then.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: Um that is so good.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, I hope that everyone can hear this because um you need to be on a pulpit right now preaching, because right now that is so amazing what you just said.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: I think sometimes um when we're done with rejection, and I can relate with you because that's one of my strongholds as well.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: And um as you and I have shared that a little bit, um that um it took the aha moment, you know, and I think we all have to have that moment where we're like, ah, you know, God, you know, and and recognizing that God's trying to show us something that doesn't belong in our life, um, and we don't have to accept it anymore.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: See, the thing is is we also accepted that rejection and we allowed it to just hurt us for years.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: I mean, I allowed it to hurt me for years.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: And um and and I'm like, you I still struggle sometimes, but now I recognize that more.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Now I just say, you know what, enemy, in the name of Jesus, you have to flee.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: I don't have to deal with you anymore.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: You know, you can go sit on attack, you know.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I I think that's awesome.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: But I know that the enemy is not gonna leave you alone because um you're so valuable to the kingdom of heav of heaven, he wants to just like keep pulling you back so that you don't take people with him and you're you know, you're you're coaching and helping people see this and they're getting they they're getting free from it.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: And it's it's so invigorating because um the devil hates it.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: And I think that's exciting too, because as soon as those lies get exposed, we know the devil is over there just cringing, going, Oh man, what am I gonna do?
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: What what's my next motive to get him to to to to go back to where I had him?
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: I had him where I wanted him, and God plucked him, you know.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: And that's what God does, he plucks us right out of the enemy's hand, you know, when we think the enemy has us.
- 14:54SPEAKER_01: And I think that's you know, that's how God works.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Because he never put us there to begin with.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: We put ourselves you know, and so did other things.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: And sometimes we get ourselves in those situations, but you know, I always wonder.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: So what um what practical steps do you think that you would you would go through in taking to actually start crushing that?
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: Like now that you've recognized it, you've had the aha moment, God is like enough.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Now what are you gonna do?
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: What what are the steps?
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: What did you do to start going, okay, this is what I have to do to maintain and not be pulled back?
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Can you share some of that?
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I think well, I think the most instrumental thing uh for me was that God God had me leave social media, you know, he had me leave social media, and I'm not saying that's what everybody needs to do, but it it was a huge factor of my I mean I wrote a book on it out loud, like I'm an advocate for social media, and then the other thing is that he called me to immerse myself in scripture, and so for three years I buried myself in in the scripture.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, just just I'm talking like hours a day, like immersed myself in scripture and you know, as much as possible, just just just pouring myself into scripture, and um, you know, part of that time uh God even used it.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: And so um when I'm not saying he didn't use it the whole time, but there there came a moment where he you know began to say, okay, now I want you to, you know, write, write about this scripture.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: And so I would start journaling and I would start writing, and you know, because that's that's one of my specialties, is I'm a I'm a copywriter too.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, God, God has sharpened me in my copywriting skills.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Um, and he's he's used me in writing, writing devotionals.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: And so that's actually uh a brand that that I've uh been building out in the background, Seek 365, where he called me to unite people around scripture, one scripture a day.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: And uh that came out of that that three years of immersing myself in scripture, and so for me, you know, um early on when I felt God calling me to immerse myself in scripture, I was not, I mean, I'll be honest, I I wasn't real thrilled about the idea.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, I you know, I love reading a scripture here, reading a chapter there, but the the idea of spending all of this time in scripture, like it just did, I was like, I don't even know if I'm gonna enjoy that.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: But boy, when I got into the word and I started reading and I started seeing changes and God working on me internally, I thought, wow, this this is life-giving.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: This is a change maker.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: And so for me, that was the most instrumental thing in in you know, breaking free from that stronghold.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: But it it was instrumental in in the trajectory of my life, and so um I would say, you know, that primarily also uh just just leaning on the voice of the Holy Spirit.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: The Holy Spirit lives inside of us, and you know, one one revelation I got through that, you know, that three-year time period, I ran across a scripture in Romans, and it's Romans 8 11, where it says, the very Spirit of God lives in you.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: It's the same spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: And I've read that I've read the Bible cover to cover many times, Mickey.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: But when I read that scripture, I was blown away.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: And it's like for the first time ever, the lens, you know, the lens were on my my head.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: I like to say I borrowed Jesus glasses in those moments, and I saw the truth of that scripture, the power in that scripture, that the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit that lives within me, is the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: Like that is powerful.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: And so when I realized that power lives within me, man, I realized the limitless possibilities of my life.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: I realized the power of God within me.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: And so I started to see how I could fight sin, I could expose the lies of the enemy, and I could crush those strongholds through the power of the spirit, speaking it in the name of Jesus and getting free from it.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: And so for me, that was that was another powerful thing.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: And then it then from there, it was just hearing his voice, tuning my ear to hear his voice and asking God, amplify your voice, amplify your voice.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: Now that takes some some adjusting because we have to, you know, we have to not only lean into his voice and ask for him to amplify his voice, but we have to turn down the volume on all those other voices.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: And that's the problem that most people have is that they don't want to turn down the volume on the other voices.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: All those other distractions and those things in their life, they, you know, just like I was resistant to oh, I don't know if I want to immerse myself in scripture.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Netflix is more fun.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, social media is more fun.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, going out, going out playing a sport might be more fun, but um turning down those voices and making the choice.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: No, I'm going to immerse myself in scripture.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: I'm going to turn turn my ear, you know, to heaven.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: I'm going to ask him to amplify it.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: And now daily, I can hear God's voice.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: I can hear God's voice.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Even this morning, even this morning, I was praying over this interview, praying over my day, and God started speaking to me.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: I'm like, wow, this is this is so good.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's pretty amazing.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: I I absolutely love Seek 365, your daily devotion.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: And what I've noticed with it when I read it is um you can see where God has made connections with you and in certain circumstances, and you you will connect dots together and it blows my mind because I'm just like, wow, it's so good.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: And I'll be reading it and getting so much out of it, and and and it's so relatable.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: Like every um every story I read that you post, I can relate to it a hundred percent.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: It's spot on.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: And I think it's because, you know, well, obviously with God, you know, He created us all to be the, you know, to be able to recognize that.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: But you will you will literally put a story in there or an instance or something and match it up.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: And it just it's a light bulb moment.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: So I love I love reading it.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Can you tell our listeners exactly what that is?
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: Because I it's on social media.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: And do they have to go just to your page to get it?
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Because Yeah, as of as of right now, yeah.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: As of right now, uh I post them from my Facebook profile.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Uh, so it's uh seat 365 devotionals.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: You'll see it pop up because I normally uh have it laid out in the same format.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: So I'll have a You know, the copy, I'll have a graphic and then I'll have the scripture displayed.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: And that was actually the design of the Lord.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Because early on, uh I thought that you know, if nobody else loves this background, you will, Mickey.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Uh, when God told me to um to start writing or his word was unite unite people around scripture.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: Terrace, I want you to unite people around scripture.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: And I thought, oh, that's a cool idea.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: You know, I just I've been in this process of immersing myself in scripture, and I I have a passion and urgency to get scripture out there.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I can get behind that, Lord.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: And so immediately my first thought, I'm gonna tell everybody to get to I'm gonna walk people through the Bible, the whole Bible in a year.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Let's do the Bible in a year, let's just do it.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: And uh and I sense God speak to me.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: Uh no, that's not what I said.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: I was like, hold up, oh hold up.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: Are you telling me you don't want people to go through the whole Bible in a year?
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: And he said, No, I don't.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: He said, I just want you to take them through one scripture per day.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: There's a lot, so that'll take more than a year.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: And I thought, what?
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: And you know what?
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: It's because he knows us, he knows our tendencies, he knows he knows the pace we we live in our life, and he knows that one scripture is is what what we need, and so he can work through that one scripture powerfully, powerfully, right?
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: So yeah, and pastors know this because pastors, you know, they're not that there's some churches that used to they would do two or three sermons a day.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: Well, that's overload, and some churches, you know, to their credit, they still do that, but most people can't absorb that more than one one sermon, you know, and so that's why the power of one point is so key.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: And and the Lord was saying, Terrace, just one scripture, one scripture a day is what is really what I want you to do.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: And so I thought, okay, that's cool.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: And so literally I would post the reference and pretty much leave it at that.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Like, let's let's think on this scripture.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: And God said, No, I want you to actually write it out, like put it before them.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: And so I thought, okay, I can do that.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: And so that's why it's displayed like it is.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: And then then then he said, I want you to look for a graphic, I want you to design something, I want you to, you know, and then I want you to write some copy.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: And and I'm thinking, wow, this is becoming like a lot bigger than what I imagined.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: And sure, that's how it was born.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: That's how it was born.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, I think you had asked me recently if there was one scripture that you know was kind of a driving force behind behind um, you know, getting breakthrough and really seeking the Lord.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: And there has been, there's been many, but but 20 years ago, over 20 years ago, the Lord gave me Matthew 6 33.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: And I was praying about something specific in my life, and I I had prayed about it and prayed about it and prayed about it and prayed about, and I and I got to a point.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you've ever gotten angry with the Lord.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: I was angry with the Lord.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: Guilty.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: And I went to the Lord and I said, Look, look, let's have a moment here, let's have a meeting.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: I really frustrated because I don't I don't know your answer to this.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: And I prayed and I prayed and I prayed.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: What is your answer to this?
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Um I kid you not, I heard I heard Lord, the Lord, and he said, Terrace Matthew 6 33.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: And I was like, What is that?
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: And he said, Well, look it up.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: And so I went to my Bible and I opened it up, and it and that verse reads, Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Wow! So for 20 years now, I have marinated on that scripture, I have read that scripture, I have prayed over that scripture, I have sought the Lord through that scripture.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, when he asked me to unite people around scripture and and gave birth to this this really a ministry in itself, um, I couldn't help but call it C through 65.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: It makes sense.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: That's where the name came from.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: That makes total sense.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: That's funny because um the the challenge that I just got done finishing this last week with the overflow challenge, you have literally brought in almost you you've spoken up to almost every scripture I've used already.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: We're not used already, but John 10, 10, um, I come to kill, steal, and destroy.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: But the Lord says, I come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: And I love that because sometimes I think when we think of abundance, we just think that um we're just gonna get an extra bag of groceries or we're gonna have, you know, maybe, you know, we're gonna have a little bit extra money in our pocket after we pay our bills.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: You know, when we think of abundance, we don't think of it the way God thinks of it.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: He's thinking so abundantly, he's he's thinking eternally.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: It's gonna carry over, you know, from this life to the next life, and he's not gonna, he's not gonna leave us um lacking anything, you know, if we just have that faith in him.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: And I just think it's so crazy when I think about um just how how much he he gives us, you know, and how much he tolerates us and puts up with us and just forgives us, you know, because when we're stuck in our strongholds, sometimes we're not being who God really wanted us to be.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: And it's I think it's really vital.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: So I think um I was gonna ask you this question, what role do you think um in identity that what do you think in our identity that it takes in Christ to actually dismantle strongholds with our identity?
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Because our identity plays a lot of role in like you said in the beginning, which I agree 100%, you nailed it, when you said it when the stronghold when takes form of us, then we start growing a root and then it becomes us.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: We become that.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: So what is it gonna take with Christ to actually start breaking that down to actually just dismantle it?
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: What would what would you say you could do to do that?
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh such a powerful question, um, Mickey.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: I I think that we have to realize that when when we pray and partner with Christ and we see our identity in him and who he says that we are, you know, he he says that we are sons and daughters.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: That's that's our identity, right?
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: That's our identity.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: And so we have to we have to see the scripture for for what it is.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: We you know, because people, people and the enemy, you know, they they will try to put labels on us, they will try to, you know, uh, and they will they will partner with the enemy to discredit us, to try to, you know, try to bring us down.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: And the instead of speaking the identity of who we are in Christ.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: And and that's the thing.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: So again, it it really goes back to almost a daily um uh a daily reminder of yourself, reminding of yourself, hey, I I'm not partnering with the enemy in this, and being aware, you know, being aware of what's happening, being aware of of the tactic, and you know, not partnering with it, and and remembering what God says about you, being able to discern in the spirit, this is a lie, no, this is truth.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: This is a lie, this is truth.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: That's the thing.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: And so I think it's it's really just a discernment of the spirit and and knowing what the scripture says about you.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: Because here's the thing we shouldn't tell ourselves, I said this recently, we shouldn't tell ourselves anything that Jesus wouldn't say about us.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Not allow anybody and not allow anybody else to say say it either.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: So if you're telling yourself something that Jesus would not say about you, then you're partnering with the enemy.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: You're actually speaking lies to yourself.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: I was on um, I was actually on a um a call the other day with a business owner.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: I work with business owners and ministry leaders uh in my coaching consulting, and um he was having some he was having some difficulty just in, you know, with some of his daily tasks, like and time management, balance, and some of those things.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: And he kept saying, you know, I'm not I'm not being honest with myself, and I'm I'm not being an honest man.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: And you know, he kept saying that over and over again.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: And I stopped him and I said, Look, I said, I said, I want you to hear what you're saying to yourself.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: You're you're telling yourself that you're not an honest man because of these things, because you're not creating enough margin for your life, you're not handling your time well.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: I said, that's a lie, that's a lie from the enemy.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: It's not because you're not honest, it might be that you, you know, you're you're not as strong in time management, or you need to create more margin, or you need to, you know, you need to um sharpen or share up certain things in your in your daily scheduling, but it's not because you're not an honest man, right?
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: And what he was doing was he was attacking his own character, and that's what the enemy wants us to do.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: He wants us to, he he sure wants everybody else to do it to attack our character.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but but he can get us to do it and we start believing it and and receiving it, telling ourselves that, oh, he's one.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: He's one.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: If if he you know, if if we if he can get us to tear ourselves down, he don't have to send anybody our way.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's less work on him.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: He's like, yay, they they're doing it all on their own.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: I don't even have to send five people today in their film.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: You know, they're just gonna do that to themselves.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: Oh man, the enemy is so crooked.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: I I swear he, you know, he it drives me crazy.
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: One thing I like in um second 2 Corinthians is when God talks about how sufficient he is and um how much um he's going to get us through, and um how he his strength is made perfect, even in our weaknesses.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: And one thing I love to tell people that struggle with strongholds is um God's gonna meet you right where you're at.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: He's not gonna wait around until you figure it out because you'll never figure it out because a lot of people don't realize they need God to figure it out.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: For myself, even um going into this journey.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: Um, I have a similar story to yours.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: You know, when you said you you got stuck there for that three-year reign, I literally had to sit at the feet of Jesus.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you remember me telling you this, but um, it took me stop being a Martha and start acting more like Mary.
- 33:03SPEAKER_01: And um God spoke that really boldly over me.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: He's like, You are so busy that you don't even see me.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: You know, just just put some stuff aside.
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: And so I think it's important that we realize that even in our weakness um through crushing strongholds, you don't have to wait until you get perfect.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: You don't have to wait until you fix all the problems, you don't have to wait until everything is is looks like the perfect picture.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: Um God already sees and he knows anyway.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: He wants you to meet him, he he wants he wants to meet you right where you're at.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: And he wants you to meet him in the same place.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: And he's okay with that.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: And I know a lot of people when they're dealing with strongholds, they won't seek out God because, like you said, the shame and the guilt, and especially with rejection, you know, we it it it's very painful.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: Rejection is a painful thing on people, and um the devil's been really good at it because he's been around a long time.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: I tell people he's only good at it because he's been around for thousands of years.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: We have not, you know.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: We are we are so out of practice compared to him.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: Um of course he's gonna be good at it.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: You know, that's why he gets his title.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: But um, but God gave us our our own identity and he created us so uniquely that um we don't even um scratch the surface of even our purpose in life because of the strongholds that we've we've faced, you know.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: And as they come down and we start stepping closer to God, I I feel, you know, for myself and for some of the people that I've worked with, that um I see a new light in people because they they love who they are before they didn't, you know.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: And it's like I love listening to you, like you're preaching it and you're and I could just I can just tell by the way you're talking um how much stuff has already broken off from you just by spending that time in God's word.
- 34:51SPEAKER_01: And even if it even if it is just one scripture, and that one scripture can carry you over for quite a while.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: I've learned that the hard way too.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: You know, I have a scripture that I learned when I was really young, and um I've never been really good at memorizing.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: I've always tried, but I always cross my scriptures.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: So I always try to just get the book right in front of me.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: That's why I tell people, if you listen to me, make sure you get the word in your hand, because I want to make sure you're getting it like the way God wants it, not the way my brain wants to compute it.
- 35:20SPEAKER_01: So please grab that book and and get a hold of it.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: And and you know, and when you start grabbing onto it, it starts grabbing on to you.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: And God really does that.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: Jesus like starts getting into you because that Holy Spirit you talked about, the same one that raised Jesus from the dead, that's the same spirit that God literally has given everyone because he's not a respecter of persons, he's not gonna withhold from you or withhold from me and give you more or less.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: He's not that kind of a person.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: He doesn't put you on the the balance beam and say, Oh, well, you get a little extra portion today, and you are just gonna go without, you know.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: I don't think God works that way, but sometimes I think we we think that he does, you know.
- 36:00SPEAKER_01: So I I just I've enjoyed um just talking with you so much today.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: I have a couple more questions I want to run by you though before before we have to wrap up here in a few minutes.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: Um now that now that you have gone through and recognize that rejection is one of the strongholds, and like you said, you have many, and I think we do all we all have many strongholds.
- 36:21SPEAKER_01: Um but I also think a lot of our strongholds are tied together, and some are more serious strongholds than others.
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: Now that you've recognized that freedom, I mean not freedom, uh rejection was a problem for you, what does it look like now having the freedom knowing that you can face it every day and it doesn't have to weigh you down anymore?
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Well, um I think that again, a powerful question.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: Um, I think that again, it's it's it's um wrapping our minds around the fact of of who we are in Christ, just solidifying that, just you know, just knowing that our identity, our identity is who God says it uh that we are through his word.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: And um, and that we are we are not we are not um who the enemy says we are, or even what what labels people put on us.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: Um, I wanted to share a story.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: Can I share a story with you?
- 37:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, please do.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: I feel like this is such a a powerful um illustration of of of even the weight that we carry and the labels that we carry.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: So um God reminded me of this this morning as I was praying.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: I had honestly kind of forgotten about it.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: Um, so I I started thinking about this morning and and kind of relived it in my mind, but something really wild happened on May 21st of uh 20, I think it was 2010, and um I was in Yorktown, Virginia at the time.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: My mother had um at the time was battling cancer.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: She was battling um breast cancer, and I had gone to um a leadership conference that day, and I went to the leadership conference, and then I was driving home that night, and there was there was so much to this story uh as I think about it, because my car, my car uh engine had died, and I actually borrowed a friend's car, which was a blue Acura Integra.
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: I borrowed my friend's car to go to this leadership conference, went had a glorious time at the conference, and I was on the way home later that night, and it was really dark outside because it was a night, and uh there wasn't not many people on the road, and I pulled up I pulled up to this traffic light.
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: After I said that, I was like, uh, it was a force of the boat.
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: Um, that was just for us here.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: I pulled up to this light, and I decided to call my mother, and so I get my mother on the phone and I'm checking on her to see what her condition was.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: And you know, we're talking and I'm sitting at this light waiting on it to turn green.
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: I'm literally just a block away from my house, Mickey.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: And uh the light turns green and I turn, and then I have to make an immediate write into my neighborhood.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: So I'm on the phone with mom, and all of a sudden, as I'm turning into the neighborhood, I hear sirens in the background.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: And I thought, oh, um, wonder where that's coming from.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: I didn't see any lights, I just heard them.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: And so I, you know, ignored that, continue to talk to my mother, pulled into the neighborhood, and as I'm pulling into the neighborhood, there's a stop sign immediately as soon as I go into my neighborhood.
- 39:46SPEAKER_00: I pull up to that stop sign and go to turn right to make that right and head towards my house.
- 39:53SPEAKER_00: And I noticed lights were coming into the neighborhood, and I I looked in the background and I thought, oh wow, they're they're coming into my neighborhood.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: And so uh I still didn't see any vehicle, I just saw the lights.
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: And so I'm still talking to my mom, still making the the way through the neighborhood.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: And then all of a sudden, this this cop car comes, I mean, comes careening right up behind me.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: And I thought, oh, you know, I need to I need to get out of this guy's way.
- 40:22SPEAKER_00: He is like racing through this neighborhood.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: So I said, I said, mom, let me um, I said, let me let me call you back.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to get out of this cop's way.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: So I go to pull over and he pulls in behind me.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: And so I'm like, what in the world?
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: Like, why is he stopping me?
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: And so he gets out of the car, I kid you not, and he starts yelling at me to get out of the car, to put my hands up, get out of the car, put my hands up.
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what?
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: Like, I wasn't even I wasn't speeding, like, like I wasn't doing anything wrong.
- 40:57SPEAKER_00: Like, where did you come from?
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: And so I I slowly get out of the car and he orders me to get down on the ground.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, he is yelling at me.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: He he he yells at me to get down on the ground.
- 41:10SPEAKER_00: I drop to the ground and he said, put your hands behind your your head, and so I put my hands behind my head and I said, What is this about?
- 41:18SPEAKER_00: Like, what's going on?
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: I kid you not.
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: He pulls out his gun and puts it to my head, puts it to my head, Mickey.
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: And so I am freaking out because I'm thinking, what in the world?
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: And all of a sudden he calls for backup, and then all of these other these other cars, these other cop cars come.
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: And so I'm on the ground, he's holding the gun at my head.
- 41:42SPEAKER_00: He's he says, he says, why were you driving like that?
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: Why were you, why were you, you know, why were you running from us?
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: And I was like, what are you talking about?
- 41:51SPEAKER_00: Like, and so he starts telling me all these things, and I'm like, in my head, I'm thinking, okay, he was he was after somebody else.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: And I as I somehow became the the guy he's chasing.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: And so uh I'm like, I'm like, this this has to be like mistaken identical because I wasn't doing anything wrong.
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: Like this is this is like what in the world?
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: And I'm telling you, Mickey, they were rough.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: They were rough with me.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: They like they they pulled their guns, they were arguing um about you know, to me.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: I I was asking them what was, you know, what did I do?
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: Well, like what what you know, what was this about?
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: They were like, oh, we hear that from everybody, you know.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: I mean, just go on out anyway.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: Long story short, um, they ended up giving me a ticket for reckless driving, but it was very, it was a very severe ticket.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: And they they literally debated for 10 minutes about taking me to jail that night.
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: They were going to arrest me, but they decided to let me go.
- 42:47SPEAKER_00: And I think it was because I prayed so hard in that moment.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: I was like, Lord, like what is going on?
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: And so they they told me, they said, We were we're we're gonna take you to we were gonna take you to jail, but you know, one of our partners said, you know, we're not gonna do that, we'll just give you the ticket.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: So anyway, um, fast forward, I ended up having to get uh a lawyer, and I took this, this thing went to court.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: Mickey, they tried to take away my driver's license.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, I had a spotless driving record.
- 43:21SPEAKER_00: Um, and this cop came into the courtroom and he he told this whole story that I was like, I mean, it was almost like, yeah, he robbed a bank and then he ran from us, and then he, you know, ran over a couple people.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was it was so wild.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: I was just like, that was not me.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't even know what you're talking about.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: But I'm telling you, I'm telling you, and I'm telling our listeners this those things were said of me that were absolutely not true.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: They tried to take away my driver's license.
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: I fought this, I fought this thing in court for over a year.
- 43:58SPEAKER_00: Over a year.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: And I I went to court.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: I was able to get my license from from getting suspended because they wanted to take them away.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: And I went back before the court and they were they were gonna try to take them again from me and charge me this huge fine.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: And my lawyer said, well, just go in and just plead guilty.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: And I said, What?
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: No way.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: I didn't do this.
- 44:27SPEAKER_00: Like I mean, this story that he told, like, I have no idea where like what what happened.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm I didn't do any of that.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: And so uh Mickey, that was so difficult for me because he wanted me to go in there and plead guilty to something that I had not done.
- 44:45SPEAKER_00: And so I prayed to God and I said, God, I said, I can't, you know, you know, here I am being encouraged to go in there and plead guilty to a charge that that that I should have never been given.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: They're trying to put a label on me and take my license and and you know affect my livelihood.
- 45:04SPEAKER_00: And I fought this thing for every year and I was tired.
- 45:06SPEAKER_00: And and and I started crying.
- 45:07SPEAKER_00: I told I I told God, I said, God, I said, this is not this is not right.
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: This is not right for me to have to go in and plead guilty to this.
- 45:15SPEAKER_00: And so um, I say all that to say this.
- 45:20SPEAKER_00: Um, I went, I ended up, you know, through prayer, God led me into that courtroom, and I ended up saying to the judge, he said, How do you plead?
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: And I said, Your honor, I said, in my heart, I did nothing wrong.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: And I said, But I humbly submit to your authority and the authority of God.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: And I said, and and my lawyer in in in pleading here.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: And so I put that behind me, but I say all that to say this that day, even before that day, it was settled in the courts of heaven that I was not I was not guilty of those charges.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: People said one thing, the law said one thing, heaven said another.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 46:09SPEAKER_00: So I I you know, even even even uh a while back, I I was volunteering for an organization, they wanted to do a background check, and I signed for the background check, and then they said they said to me, Hey, you know, would you like a copy of your background check?
- 46:27SPEAKER_00: Well, I saw the the background check.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: There's nothing on my background check except for one thing, and that one thing is that reckless driving charge from 2010.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: It's still on there.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: Wow, I was furious, furious, and I was like, Lord, it's still on there, right?
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, we're in 2025, that's 15 years ago.
- 46:52SPEAKER_00: It's still on there, something that I never did.
- 46:56SPEAKER_00: Wow, and it's like a I heard I heard heaven say, but it was settled in the court of heaven.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: You're not guilty, you're not guilty, and so I I know that was a long story, but but I'm telling you, the emotional pain, the the struggle, the money spent, all those things.
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: I I you know, I had people, I had people, you know, saying, Oh, you're making this up, Terrace.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, you did something.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: No, I did not.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: And that's what we experience every day.
- 47:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:33SPEAKER_00: We experience every day because people will try to to to label us, they'll try to, you know, speak lies, they'll partner with the enemy, and we we sometimes even partner with the enemy to receive those things when heaven says, No, that's not who I say you are.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: It's settled in the court of heaven.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: This is who you are, this is your identity.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: And so, long story, long unpacking there to say that's what it takes.
- 48:01SPEAKER_00: It takes it takes partnering with God, not partnering with the enemy, and and and and realizing that it's settled in heaven.
- 48:09SPEAKER_00: It was settled in heaven, it was settled on the cross.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: That is who we are.
- 48:13SPEAKER_00: We are sons and daughters of the king.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: That's so good.
- 48:18SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, that's so good.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: It makes me give you a big old hug because it sounds terrible.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: Even reliving it this morning, I was like, oh geez.
- 48:28SPEAKER_01: I would be crying my head off if they had me on the ground and a gun in my face.
- 48:32SPEAKER_01: I just know it.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let's talk about that.
- 48:35SPEAKER_01: I'd be like, no, you got the wrong person.
- 48:38SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, everyone says that, you know.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: It's so sad because I'm I there's so many, so many instant instances where people have just been mistaken, you know.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: And um, I hope that um, well, now that you've shared this story, I hope that you've had a chance to just just forgive, you know, that cop.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: And you know, even even it's still on your record, you're just gonna have to put put your foot down to some forgiveness there because you know it's not true.
- 49:08SPEAKER_01: You know, in your heart, God knows, and and that's that's where it gets settled right there.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: So, and I just think that's a great story because sometimes we just we can't get past it.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: We can't get past some things.
- 49:19SPEAKER_01: And um we we stay stuck in it for so long that we allow it just to let us keep us mis miserable in it, you know.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: And um, I always try to encourage people when when they're struggling with strongholds, only because I've done this myself.
- 49:32SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm preaching to the choir here.
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: Um, uh, you know, when you stay in a position of of being stuck because of something that's happened in your lifetime, that's not what God had planned for you.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: Um, so you can't let the enemy keep you there.
- 49:47SPEAKER_01: You know, you got you gotta go, you know, this did happen, and that I'm you know, I'm gonna give it to God.
- 49:51SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna give it to God.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: And um talking this week about just having our cup over full, God's gonna give us what we need.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: And that overflow, we're supposed to just give, pass it on to other people, but we're not supposed to, um, we're not supposed to go back and try and collect everything that poured over.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: That's that's for God.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: You know, that's for his glory.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: And sometimes we want to go back and pick it all back up because we want all of it for ourselves, but it's not for just ourselves.
- 50:18SPEAKER_01: Um, God wants us, he does the overpouring because he wants us to know we we are never gonna be without ever, um, because he is sufficient.
- 50:28SPEAKER_01: But he also teaches us that it's enough.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: It doesn't have to be so much more, you know.
- 50:35SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we want the more, you know, but um we we can never understand the measure of what God actually does for us.
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't think it's even you know something that we can even visualize how much he pours out on us and what he does in our lives.
- 50:50SPEAKER_01: And um, so I'm super, super thankful for that.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: And I'm what a great story.
- 50:54SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 50:57SPEAKER_01: I I don't know, that would scare me like all the way, all the way to to the ticket.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, the ticket and everything, right?
- 51:05SPEAKER_00: Well, it was very traumatic.
- 51:07SPEAKER_00: It was very traumatic, it was very taxing.
- 51:09SPEAKER_00: I dealt with with um my feelings about it for for years and for yeah, and I'm glad you brought up about forgiveness about the cop because that for me, even that for me was difficult.
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: So for a long time, like I wouldn't say a long time, but at least a year or two, I like I hated cops, right?
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: And and God said to me one day, that was one bad apple, right?
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: That wasn't that was no, I backed the blue now.
- 51:36SPEAKER_00: Like I I you know, I mean I support our law enforcement, but that was one bad, that was one bad apple.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: And to his, you know, his defense, he might have been chasing a guy who was guilty of those things, and it was mistaken identity, but he pinned it on me, yeah, you know.
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh the other thing, the other thing is that isn't it interesting that you know, I did that background check recently with this organization, you know, for that volunteer work, and I saw that.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: And even after all this time, it's like that feeling rose back up in me, and it was like the enemy just wanted to say, hmm, what about this?
- 52:21SPEAKER_00: What about this?
- 52:23SPEAKER_00: You know, and there there it is again.
- 52:25SPEAKER_00: I can choose to partner with it, and I did get angry as soon as I saw it on there.
- 52:29SPEAKER_00: I was like, it's been 15 years, you know, and it's for a reckless driving, like seriously, and so um, you know, I got mad in that moment, but but it caused me to to go back back in my mind, in my heart, what was settled in heaven and what God says about me.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: And so I thought I thought the timing of that was interesting, that you know, even years later, you know, there again, it's like the enemy will present it, you know, it'll get presented to us in some form or some fashion, and then we have to choose whether we're going to partner with it, or where we're we're gonna say, nope, it was settled.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 53:12SPEAKER_01: That is so crazy.
- 53:14SPEAKER_01: I don't even know what I would do in that situation.
- 53:17SPEAKER_01: I'm kind of a um, well, people that know me know that I can be kind of sarcastic and a smart mouth.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: I probably would have gone to jail.
- 53:25SPEAKER_01: I you know, I'd I'd went probably said some things and probably made my situation even worse than just cooperating with them because I probably would have been like, you are nuts, you are not taking me anywhere, you know.
- 53:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, I just thinking about what I would do in that situation, I would definitely probably be sitting behind bars because um, you know, we have to we have to sometimes be still and quiet, God says.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: I'm and he's still working that out in me.
- 53:52SPEAKER_01: So so I have a question for you before we close up here.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: What legacy do you hope that your story leaves for others that are struggling um with similar battles with strongholds?
- 54:09SPEAKER_00: I think it's I think it's the freedom.
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: Um I think if I can I think if anything that I say or do I can give people freedom.
- 54:23SPEAKER_00: You know, that they can break free from it.
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: Because here's the reality.
- 54:26SPEAKER_00: Here's the reality is that it's one thing if it's a label or you know, um, even uh a spirit that is not of God, that's totally from the enemy, you know.
- 54:40SPEAKER_00: That that's that's one element of it.
- 54:43SPEAKER_00: But it's what it causes.
- 54:44SPEAKER_00: It causes havoc in our lives.
- 54:47SPEAKER_00: There are people right now listening to this who are losing sleep at night because of something that was said to them.
- 54:56SPEAKER_00: Something something that the enemy presented, something that somebody else said of them, they're losing sleep at night.
- 55:02SPEAKER_00: They're they're they have uh disorders health-wise, they have medical problems, they have, you know, they have trouble working.
- 55:11SPEAKER_00: It's affecting their lives because they are they are believing these lies and partnering with the enemy.
- 55:18SPEAKER_00: And so if there's any legacy that that I leave as a result of this work that God's done in my life, it's the it's that they get free, that they break this off of their life, that that God gives them that freedom, and then they recognize it moving forward, and they say, I am not going to partner with this.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: That's good.
- 55:39SPEAKER_01: That's a good word right there.
- 55:40SPEAKER_01: That is really good.
- 55:41SPEAKER_01: I think that um, you know, you you you said it perfectly because there's so many people out there that are just hurting, you know.
- 55:51SPEAKER_01: That's what this podcast is about, is you know, taking that pain and turning it into some power and some purpose because we sit in that and it just it keeps us in that place where the enemy wants us to be, but God doesn't.
- 56:05SPEAKER_01: So leaning in on, you know, we have to lean in on God always um daily, even if it's just one scripture a day.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: And a little reminder.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: I love the little reminders with your your um seek 365.
- 56:18SPEAKER_01: So I know you have a couple of things coming up that are exciting, and I want you to share it because I think this would be really great for people that are especially dealing with rejection and I and identity issues and um what you and Devin have worked out.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: I'm excited.
- 56:35SPEAKER_01: I've been watching it, and I can't wait.
- 56:37SPEAKER_01: And um, if you would like to share that, I would love for you to do that.
- 56:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 56:42SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 56:42SPEAKER_00: So, you know, if if you want a deeper dive on this topic of specifically identity, um my friend Devin Schubert and I, we uh we're doing a three three-week live mini-series on Facebook.
- 56:57SPEAKER_00: And uh, we just had our first one last week.
- 56:59SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure exactly when this podcast is dropping, but we're doing our second one on August 26th at 7 p.m.
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: Eastern live uh on my profile as well as his.
- 57:09SPEAKER_00: And uh and then on September 2nd as well, same time on Tuesday night, uh 7 p.m.
- 57:16SPEAKER_00: uh eastern, six central, uh I guess five mountain.
- 57:20SPEAKER_00: And um, we will be live.
- 57:22SPEAKER_00: And then we're um we're launching a six-week academy to take a select few individuals deeper uh into our coaching uh private coaching group, uh Identity 2.0, and that's gonna launch on uh Tuesday night, September 9th.
- 57:39SPEAKER_00: And so uh really exciting.
- 57:42SPEAKER_00: Uh you can you can catch the the Facebook lives on August 26th and September 2nd.
- 57:48SPEAKER_00: Uh and uh we'd love to to have you as a part of that.
- 57:51SPEAKER_00: And if you need information, you know, you can always you know find me on Facebook and message.
- 57:56SPEAKER_00: Uh I'll make sure that that Mickey has the information, maybe put it in the show notes.
- 58:01SPEAKER_00: Uh and the site for the the uh class, if you want to go ahead and secure your spot, because oh man, uh I I could tell you so many perks for for joining this this group, but um, go to unlockmyidentity.com.
- 58:14SPEAKER_00: That's the site, and maybe you can share that link with with your listeners.
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: Unlockmyidentity.com.
- 58:20SPEAKER_00: But uh we have an organization that believes so much in our mission that they are giving us vacation bonuses to give away, and so they are giving these vouchers to us for the first 10 people that secure their spot.
- 58:34SPEAKER_00: They're valued, uh, it ranges from 900 to up to 1500.
- 58:39SPEAKER_00: And there's a select number of destinations you can choose from.
- 58:42SPEAKER_00: These vouchers are good for up to 18 months, and so for the first 10 people who get in this class, they get this vacation voucher.
- 58:49SPEAKER_00: No strings attached.
- 58:50SPEAKER_00: Uh, it's not like a timeshare or something like that.
- 58:53SPEAKER_00: Um, but we're giving this away.
- 58:55SPEAKER_00: And so uh even more excitement uh uh you know to be added to what we're doing.
- 59:00SPEAKER_00: So the the the bigger thing is the freedom that people are gonna walk away with, having gone gone the distance with us in this this group, because we we are going to rally around these people, we're going to pray over them, we're going to share scripture with them, we're going to teach them because we've been getting downloads um for the last few months on this topic.
- 59:21SPEAKER_00: And uh it's it's gonna be amazing.
- 59:24SPEAKER_00: So thanks for letting me share that.
- 59:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I watched the first live that you you guys had.
- 59:30SPEAKER_01: It was wonderful, it was great.
- 59:32SPEAKER_01: Um, and um, so I'm excited that we get to share it because I definitely will be there for the next two.
- 59:39SPEAKER_01: And I'm excited to find out about it and um look up the information that you guys are um working on.
- 59:46SPEAKER_01: And and what a great thing to just get in there and share God's word with people and help people to um not only figure out God's purpose for their life, but a lot of times we live our lives not knowing who we really are because of of an identity crisis, you know?
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_01: It kind of sets us back a little bit.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_01: So um what a great, great thing that you guys are doing.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_01: I'm excited about it.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_01: And it's called identity 2.0 or something.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_01: Is that correct?
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_01: Am I saying it right?
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_01: I want to make sure I said it quickly, and I definitely will put the information in my show notes um and um be sharing all of that with you.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_01: I have one more thing I wanted to ask you real quick, and then I'm going to close out here.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_01: Um, you and I are both coaches, and I think it's great that uh for what we do.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_01: When helping people with crushed strongholds, when you were going through your um um period where you're recognizing a stronghold that you had, did you ever use any sources like a coach or uh did you go to a preacher?
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_01: Did you go to a best friend?
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_01: Did you have anyone that you actually reached out to that could help you along the way in your journey of crushing the stronghold of rejection?
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_00: Well, again, I I don't think um I recognized it as a stronghold of rejection, nor did anybody that I that I talked to.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_00: Were there people along the way that I had prayer with?
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_00: Were there people along the way that I shared it, you know, privately with?
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sure.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_00: But they never, they never, for whatever reason, maybe they didn't recognize it as the spirit of rejection or a stronghold.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_00: Um, that's why it's so important to go to God because God will expose it, God will do that.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_00: And so it wasn't until you know just a a couple years ago that I had the I had the experience where I recognized what had happened in my life, what you know, what I had uh a stronghold with.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_00: And so um that's when I got to break free from it.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_00: It was it was when I recognized it then.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_00: Uh, but it was the Lord's doing.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_00: So I am thankful, you know, having said that, I am thankful for all the people who have journeyed with me over the years, who have prayed with me or spoken words of validation or you know, anything like that.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_00: Um, tremendously grateful.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_00: But um ultimately we do we do need to, you know, lean into God's voice and seek him for, you know, identifying what these strongholds are.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_00: And and you know, uh having said that, that's one way that he's he's using me in now because I I will hopefully become a voice for people um that they can they can trust, they can talk with, they can get coaching from, and I can I can better identify uh now that I have uh experienced it myself uh in their life.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_00: Great.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_01: That's perfect.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_01: Well, um I'm going to wrap up, and I'm so thankful that you've been here today.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_01: It has been a lot of fun.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_01: I was so nervous, but I had such a great time.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_01: I hope you did too.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_01: And I'm sure our listeners um uh will enjoy every every bit of it because man, that was such a good word.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I think I should have just given you the microphone, put you up on the stage, and had you just start preaching.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_01: Like I wanted to start, like woo, you know, just preaching.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_02: I do like to bring.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_02: I do like to bring.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_01: No, it was great.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_01: I loved it, I loved your message, it was wonderful.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_01: Um, but anyhow, um, this is the end of our episode today.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_01: And I want to share real quickly in closing that um we do offer coaching.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_01: Both Teris and I both do coaching.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_01: So if you're interested, you can reach out to either one of us.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_01: Um, if you need prayer for anything, reach out to me anytime.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_01: I'd be glad to pray for you for anything, any need that you have.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_01: And um, I look forward to seeing you or or speaking with you guys again.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_01: And um, this has been another great episode of Crushing Strongholds.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_01: Thank you all so much for being here.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_01: Take care and God bless.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_00: Thanks, everybody.
