- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Telugu with Fexingo. Episode 136 — can you believe it? Luna: I know! We've come a long way. Last time, we were describing birds in the park. That was fun. Lucas: Yeah, we learned phrases like 'పక్షి ఎగురుతుంది' — the bird flies, and 'పక్షి పాట పాడుతుంది' — the bird sings. Luna: Right! So today, let's learn what else birds do. Like, building nests? I see them carrying twigs. Lucas: Perfect. So, 'the bird builds a nest' in Telugu is 'పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది'. Say it with me: పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది. Luna: పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది. That's a mouthful. గూడు means nest, right? Lucas: Exactly. And 'కట్టుతుంది' means builds. So literally 'bird nest builds'. Let's try it again: పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది. Luna: పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది. Okay, I think I've got it. Lucas: Good. Now, what else do birds do? They eat seeds. So 'the bird eats seeds' is 'పక్షి గింజలు తింటుంది'. Repeat: పక్షి గింజలు తింటుంది. Luna: పక్షి గింజలు తింటుంది. గింజలు is seeds, and తింటుంది is eats. So another action verb. Lucas: Yes! And birds also drink water. 'పక్షి నీళ్ళు తాగుతుంది' — the bird drinks water. నీళ్ళు is water, తాగుతుంది is drinks. Luna: పక్షి నీళ్ళు తాగుతుంది. So we have build nest, eat seeds, drink water. Three new bird actions. Lucas: Exactly. Let's practice all three together. First, పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది. Luna: పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది. Lucas: పక్షి గింజలు తింటుంది. Luna: పక్షి గింజలు తింటుంది. Lucas: పక్షి నీళ్ళు తాగుతుంది. Luna: పక్షి నీళ్ళు తాగుతుంది. I love how these sentences follow the same pattern — subject, object, verb. Lucas: Yep, Telugu does that. And now imagine you're at a park, and you see a bird building a nest. You can say to your friend: చూడు, పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది. Luna: చూడు means 'look', right? So 'Look, the bird is building a nest.' That's so cool. Lucas: Exactly. And if you see a bird eating seeds: చూడు, పక్షి గింజలు తింటుంది. Luna: చూడు, పక్షి గింజలు తింటుంది. I can picture it. Lucas: And drinking water: చూడు, పక్షి నీళ్ళు తాగుతుంది. Luna: చూడు, పక్షి నీళ్ళు తాగుతుంది. This is great for a park visit. Lucas: You know, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Telugu, a small contribution at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo really helps keep these lessons coming. Luna: Yeah, it's like a tiny seed you plant, and it helps the whole garden grow. Even a couple of dollars makes a difference. Lucas: Totally. And now, let's do a little quiz. I'll say the English, you say the Telugu. 'The bird builds a nest.' Luna: పక్షి గూడు కట్టుతుంది. Lucas: Yes! 'The bird eats seeds.' Luna: పక్షి గింజలు తింటుంది. Lucas: Perfect. 'The bird drinks water.' Luna: పక్షి నీళ్ళు తాగుతుంది. Nailed it! Lucas: You did. Practice these phrases, and next time you're at a park, you can describe what the birds are doing in Telugu. Until then, happy learning! Luna: Thanks, Lucas. See you all next time!
