- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a bonus episode
- 0:14Speaker 1: of Long Story Short the podcast. I'm Megan, I'm Wendy,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and to stay on the podcast, we are discussing warming
- 0:21Speaker 1: up to you, the first in a series of bonus original.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Sorry, I don't know where that came from. Oh my god,
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 0:32Speaker 1: The first in a series of bonus originals on the
- 0:34Speaker 1: Hallmark Channel in May. If you like talking Homewark, we'd
- 0:39Speaker 1: like to invite you to join our exclusive Hallmark Facebook group,
- 0:43Speaker 1: which is Girls Gone Hallmark. You can search it on
- 0:45Speaker 1: Facebook or follow the link in our show notes. And
- 0:49Speaker 1: if you're saying you talk about show notes all the
- 0:51Speaker 1: time but I don't understand, you can find them in
- 0:55Speaker 1: the podcast app that you're listening on, or you can
- 0:57Speaker 1: visit Megan and Wendy dot slash podcast. Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 2: It takes me a long time to write those show notes, guys.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So yeah, and I had to write them last week
- 1:07Speaker 1: and so I h I yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Quick update, guys. I did not have COVID, but I
- 1:13Speaker 2: did have the stomach flu. So uh Megan for days days? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:19Speaker 2: she went down fast. I'm feeling better now. Thanks.
- 1:25Speaker 1: When I am. Do you have a synopsis of this movie, I.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Sure do okay warming up to you. A fitness expert
- 1:33Speaker 2: must get a movie star into shape before shooting his
- 1:36Speaker 2: next film starring Cindy Busby, Christopher Russell, Caitlin Striker, and
- 1:43Speaker 2: Latanya Williams.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Before we do news and notes specific to this movie,
- 1:49Speaker 1: I have an Hallmark update.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Ooh, give it to me.
- 1:52Speaker 1: We have a new actor who has signed an exclusive
- 1:55Speaker 1: deal with Hallmark.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Oh okay. Is it just me?
- 1:58Speaker 1: Or do these exclusive deals feel like Homer being like
- 2:00Speaker 1: ha ha, you can't have him to another network who
- 2:02Speaker 1: shall not be named.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yes, I absolutely think that's what they're doing.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And we have Luke McFarlane, Luke McFarlane, known for Girls
- 2:12Speaker 1: Gone Homework Favorite taking a Shot at Love along with
- 2:16Speaker 1: Christmas in My Heart, which was also from last year,
- 2:19Speaker 1: signing his own exclusive deal.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Get it, Luke McFarland, Get it.
- 2:24Speaker 1: We're gonna leave a link in the show notes. I
- 2:26Speaker 1: will send this to you of the many stars who
- 2:28Speaker 1: have signed exclusive deals so you can take a look
- 2:31Speaker 1: at that.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I want there to be more and more. I need
- 2:35Speaker 2: a Tyler Hines exclusive deal.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Yeah I know, but he's I don't think he wants
- 2:40Speaker 1: to go to ghak. But I do think he likes
- 2:42Speaker 1: like he's in Letterkenny, and I think he likes to
- 2:45Speaker 1: be able to oh, to keep his options open.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Can they not work outside of Hallmark if they have.
- 2:51Speaker 1: An exclusive deal?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I believe.
- 2:55Speaker 1: That's what that word means.
- 2:57Speaker 2: You guys, what this dog?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Ohay, stop, Humpy, lay down?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Oh my god, hold on, you're out, You're out of here.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Let's talk to some news and notes about warming up
- 3:12Speaker 1: to you.
- 3:14Speaker 2: This film also went by a few earlier titles, including
- 3:18Speaker 2: in Action and Love in Action. I personally like Love
- 3:23Speaker 2: and Action better than warming up to You. I think
- 3:27Speaker 2: it's like more playful and fun and you know, supports
- 3:32Speaker 2: like he's this action star.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I think warming up to You is kind of a
- 3:37Speaker 2: terrible title.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. Okay. You know we discussed in our
- 3:43Speaker 1: preview episode that Cindy Busby and Christopher Russell also starred
- 3:46Speaker 1: alongside each other in Chasing Waterfalls. But did you know
- 3:49Speaker 1: that this movie is a real, real Chasing Waterfalls love story?
- 3:55Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 3:56Speaker 1: Devin Alexander, who plays agent Jared Monroe, was also in
- 4:00Speaker 1: Chasing Waterfalls. He plays the desk clerk in that movie.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Christy will Wolfe was the director of Warming Up to You.
- 4:07Speaker 1: She was the director and the ep of Chasing Waterfalls MM.
- 4:13Speaker 2: She also directed Where Your Heart Belongs, which was a
- 4:17Speaker 2: Christopher Russell movie from earlier.
- 4:19Speaker 1: This year that also starred Jared Monroe and Latanya Williams,
- 4:24Speaker 1: who are in this movie.
- 4:25Speaker 2: It's a real family affair, indeed. I think Christy wilwolf
- 4:30Speaker 2: likes who she likes working with. Indeed, and there it
- 4:33Speaker 2: is unless they're like knocking all these movies out at
- 4:35Speaker 2: the same time. But I don't know.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Hey, I really wanted to find the location of those
- 4:43Speaker 1: little cabins.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Uh huh, uh huh.
- 4:46Speaker 1: It was very cute, but one of the reasons I
- 4:48Speaker 1: wanted to find it, and there was very little information
- 4:51Speaker 1: other than you know, we know that this was filmed
- 4:53Speaker 1: in Vancouver. The preview for next week's movie A Tale
- 4:58Speaker 1: of Love? Oh, okay, whatever, Romance to the Rescue? What
- 5:03Speaker 1: about the dog movie? What's the dog movie this month?
- 5:06Speaker 1: There was one last month, there's one this month. I
- 5:08Speaker 1: think it's a Tale of Love, right.
- 5:09Speaker 2: It's the Agility one. Yeah, I can't remember the name
- 5:12Speaker 2: of it.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Right, it's one of the two. Anyway. The preview for
- 5:14Speaker 1: that features. I believe this exact same set, Oh really,
- 5:18Speaker 1: but I couldn't find that information. And I did, look,
- 5:23Speaker 1: what appears like this is the same location.
- 5:26Speaker 2: We all know for sure next week or whenever that
- 5:28Speaker 2: movie two weeks yep okay. IMDb credits three writers for
- 5:32Speaker 2: this movie, including the scriptwriter W. Stewart. That's all they
- 5:38Speaker 2: go by, based on a story by Kevin Sorry, based
- 5:42Speaker 2: on a story by Stephen Kent and Pamela Rice. Now
- 5:46Speaker 2: Kent and Rice don't have any other like story or
- 5:48Speaker 2: writing credits at all on IMDb. I'm really I would
- 5:53Speaker 2: love to get like an insider's knowledge on like how
- 5:57Speaker 2: that works exactly. How do you get credited? Like if
- 6:00Speaker 2: I just say, like I have an idea about X,
- 6:03Speaker 2: Y and Z, then do I get that writing credit
- 6:05Speaker 2: or story credit even though somebody else like writes the
- 6:08Speaker 2: dialogue for it and the rest of it.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I've got no idea.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I need we need, we need somebody. We need to
- 6:15Speaker 2: ask somebody.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Did they sell their script? Did they say, here's here's
- 6:19Speaker 1: our story. Make it a script that I don't know?
- 6:22Speaker 2: I don't know. I need to know how that works.
- 6:23Speaker 2: How much money did they make?
- 6:25Speaker 1: I actually was trying to figure out because I did
- 6:28Speaker 1: notice that Kent and Rice were new and I did
- 6:32Speaker 1: some googling. The problem is they don't have photos, and
- 6:35Speaker 1: so I found another Stephen Kent, who was a writer,
- 6:39Speaker 1: but in a completely different genre, so it was impossible
- 6:42Speaker 1: to know if it was the same person. I would
- 6:45Speaker 1: like to know more about the Kent and Rice writing team.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Let me stop you there for just a second. You know,
- 6:51Speaker 2: Megan loves TikTok, guys. I mean I like it too,
- 6:53Speaker 2: but Megan loves TikTok. And have you seen that recent
- 6:56Speaker 2: the recent audio where it says like it's a genre,
- 6:59Speaker 2: it's a genre.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It's a genre. Yeah, not everybody fixing that bad bitch genre. Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I have seen it a hundred times.
- 7:09Speaker 2: So now every time I hear the word genre, I
- 7:11Speaker 2: think about that. Maybe we need to make some sort
- 7:15Speaker 2: of No.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I can't do it. I can't do it.
- 7:18Speaker 2: No, it's so funny. Guys. We're on TikTok at Megan
- 7:22Speaker 2: and Wendy. So yeah, if you want to see our videos,
- 7:26Speaker 2: join us over there. That's all I offer for news
- 7:29Speaker 2: and notes, I mean, other than like all the same
- 7:30Speaker 2: stuff that you had already mentioned. This was filmed in Vancouver,
- 7:34Speaker 2: British Columbia. It was filmed sometime around May twenty twenty one,
- 7:40Speaker 2: so it's been in the can for a while now.
- 7:44Speaker 1: The last comment I would like to make is we
- 7:46Speaker 1: have talked about our campaign hashtag justice for Maddie in
- 7:50Speaker 1: regards to Mattie Finocchio's long run as the bestie in
- 7:56Speaker 1: these movies. Latanya Williams, who plays best friend Sasha Jones,
- 8:00Speaker 1: has been in four movies in twenty twenty two alone.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Oh Wow, always a Moore, a second chance at love
- 8:07Speaker 1: and where your Heart Belongs in addition to warming up
- 8:10Speaker 1: to you. So I think we need a justice for
- 8:13Speaker 1: Latanya hashtag I give that girl a lead role for real?
- 8:18Speaker 1: Are you ready for first impressions of this movie?
- 8:20Speaker 2: Sure?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Excuse me, but was that a fat suit? I would
- 8:26Speaker 1: like to play a clip from our preview of May episode.
- 8:30Speaker 2: You're telling me that Christopher Russell needs to get in
- 8:33Speaker 2: shape for him.
- 8:37Speaker 1: They don't have that much time for a transformation, so
- 8:39Speaker 1: they got to start with him already hot.
- 8:41Speaker 2: They need to put him in one of those, like
- 8:43Speaker 2: you know, rene.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Highly offensive fat suits.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, those are the worst I was looking for.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yes, did Wendy call it? Or did Wendy call it?
- 8:52Speaker 1: Is there a fat suit? There's a fat suit.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Okay, it looks like a pregnancy belly fat suit, right,
- 9:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna read you.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Would you like to hear the tweet? Yes? Someone, I
- 9:06Speaker 1: actually don't have the tweet that started it. They commented like,
- 9:09Speaker 1: I can't with the wandering belly because of the fat
- 9:12Speaker 1: suit roams on Christopher Russell's body, and Christy will Wolfe,
- 9:16Speaker 1: the writer excuse me, the director of this movie says,
- 9:19Speaker 1: I failed with the belly. We had a whole suit made,
- 9:22Speaker 1: but it was too big and unrealistic for the weight
- 9:24Speaker 1: he could lose in that amount of time, so we
- 9:25Speaker 1: went with someone else. Yike, I mean, could I do
- 9:30Speaker 1: an entire episode on why you should never use a
- 9:35Speaker 1: fat suit? How horribly offensive this is? I don't need
- 9:38Speaker 1: to because I got more coming. What's your first impression.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Of this movie? By far the best Sandy Besby movie
- 9:44Speaker 2: I've seen.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Okay, guys, there's only been two.
- 9:49Speaker 1: So no no, no, no, no, no no no.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Heart's down under that one and Jason Waterfols that's two.
- 9:56Speaker 2: This is the third of the three.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yes, this is three. Okay, two your point. When we
- 10:03Speaker 1: talk about what we liked about this movie, there's a
- 10:07Speaker 1: lot that I cannot forgive, but I will say I
- 10:11Speaker 1: have many terrible things to say, but I found the
- 10:13Speaker 1: dialogue witty and quippy.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I agree. I shout out to screenwriter W. Stewart, who's
- 10:20Speaker 2: served up some very funny lines, plus a ton of
- 10:25Speaker 2: pop culture like Easter eggs sprinkled throughout, which I really enjoyed.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yes, that is my next point. I loved the Bridgerton,
- 10:33Speaker 1: the Reggie John Page, the Outlander reference. Christy will Wolf
- 10:38Speaker 1: loves some sexy TV or screenwriter loves some sexy TV.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Because if you've seen Bridgerton Season one, who boy, is
- 10:45Speaker 1: that not Hallmark appropriate?
- 10:47Speaker 2: I don't. That's not for me, it's not.
- 10:50Speaker 1: It's sexy super holy Moley.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yes, I loved Latanya Williams as Sasha and Devin Alexander
- 10:59Speaker 2: as Jared, and I you know what, I'd really like
- 11:01Speaker 2: to see those two in a starring movie, like starring
- 11:05Speaker 2: opposite of each other. Yes, movie. I enjoyed their chemistry.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And there's just something about Devin Alexander that I find
- 11:12Speaker 2: very interesting to watch, Like he's like dry in his
- 11:17Speaker 2: delivery but funny at the same time.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Oh one hundred percent. When he comes in and tells
- 11:22Speaker 1: them to stop their offer of them dancing. I love him. Yes, yes, Yes,
- 11:28Speaker 1: he's a delight. He's a delight. Lots of funny lines.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Kate as Cyndy Busby calls Rick Steele a celebrity manslainer,
- 11:39Speaker 1: which I thought was hilarious. And when Rick tells Jared
- 11:44Speaker 1: to light a match as he comes out of the bathroom.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I mean, who does not love twelve year old boy humor?
- 11:49Speaker 1: Who doesn't love it? I do?
- 11:52Speaker 2: Me? Do? Do? I do? I like the character Minnie.
- 11:56Speaker 2: She's played by Dolores Drake. I thought she was adorable
- 11:58Speaker 2: and fun to watch it. Just liked how she fangirled
- 12:01Speaker 2: over Rick. And then she was, you know, the counter
- 12:05Speaker 2: to Cindy Busby because her friend Sasha couldn't be like
- 12:09Speaker 2: in the workouts all the time. You know it was
- 12:12Speaker 2: you know, so it was it was good good character
- 12:16Speaker 2: placement there or whatever.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Indeed, there was so much potential here. I agree this
- 12:23Speaker 1: is the best Cindy Busby we've ever seen. I wanted
- 12:27Speaker 1: to like it. I wanted to like it so much,
- 12:31Speaker 1: but I'm going to need to do a lot of shouting.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Okay, I have some shouting too, And let me start
- 12:37Speaker 2: with this first. Okay, it's a tweet and it's from
- 12:42Speaker 2: and this is their handle at lulz y zero underscore
- 12:48Speaker 2: zero guys. I don't know what that's supposed to meaniszy?
- 12:51Speaker 1: Okay?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Woolsey she or he tweeted watching a new Hallmark
- 12:57Speaker 2: Channel movie where the female lead is a fitness trainer
- 13:00Speaker 2: who fat shames and food monitors everyone around her. And
- 13:05Speaker 2: you can tell they're trying to paint her as quote
- 13:08Speaker 2: caring for people around her and quote trying to help
- 13:11Speaker 2: the best they can be. And then it has like
- 13:13Speaker 2: a barf emoji. So let's talk about the fat shaming
- 13:21Speaker 2: and the food monitoring. Did it make you uncomfortable?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Okay? I will read you exactly what I wrote. I
- 13:28Speaker 1: cannot look past the extreme fat shaming at the heart
- 13:31Speaker 1: of this movie. Is it a real thing for actors
- 13:34Speaker 1: to deal with? Yes, there's a story to tell here
- 13:36Speaker 1: about the possibly unrealistic explanation expectations that we hold celebrities to.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Did it need to be a broader message of put
- 13:44Speaker 1: the pizza down, fatty? No it did not.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Okay, So question would Hallmark have made this movie if
- 13:53Speaker 2: the it was a female who needed to lose weight
- 13:56Speaker 2: for a role and then hired a male trainer.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Is that how they're justifying it because they can joke
- 14:03Speaker 1: about his dad bod Maybe Yeah, it's still her message,
- 14:08Speaker 1: Cindy Busby's character, Kate's message, as that tweeter said, is
- 14:13Speaker 1: so aggressive. As they said fat shaming and food monitoring.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I tweeted last night, but a nutritious diet is not
- 14:22Speaker 1: simply green smoothies and roasted cauliflower. Eat the damn vegans
- 14:27Speaker 1: more my gosh, right right. Also, also a fitness camp
- 14:35Speaker 1: for kids is fat Camp two point zero and Holy
- 14:38Speaker 1: fat phobia Batman. I cannot with this movie. How did
- 14:40Speaker 1: this get made?
- 14:41Speaker 2: I don't know. There are some weird and bad storylines,
- 14:46Speaker 2: like the messaging is real bad, I hear you, And
- 14:53Speaker 2: as a viewer, I was like, why didn't they instead
- 14:57Speaker 2: like make Rick's gold, Like let's say he instead of
- 15:02Speaker 2: like needed to lose weight for a role, how about
- 15:05Speaker 2: like learning some specialized like sport or training, Like yes,
- 15:09Speaker 2: what if what if Kate's like an expert in MMA
- 15:12Speaker 2: or a yogurt yogurt yoga expert or something like they
- 15:17Speaker 2: could have still like illustrated the journey like Rick had
- 15:21Speaker 2: to go through without being a weight loss journey.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Yes, and they could have been like, oh the studio
- 15:28Speaker 1: wants me ripped ie roll right, like they could have
- 15:31Speaker 1: We get that there's this expectation that celebrities look like
- 15:34Speaker 1: this all the time, but that was not the story
- 15:36Speaker 1: that they were telling.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Right right, right, and and to your note for that,
- 15:43Speaker 2: you know, kids fat camp or whatever, this is how
- 15:47Speaker 2: they could have spun it. So her parents die of cancer, right,
- 15:50Speaker 2: and she says, like she meets like some girl or
- 15:53Speaker 2: something or other, how about make a camp for kids
- 15:56Speaker 2: whose parents are going through like a cancer treatment, you know,
- 16:00Speaker 2: make it anything, Yes, yes, anything anything. Yeah, it doesn't
- 16:04Speaker 2: have to be like this hyper focused like kids need
- 16:07Speaker 2: to be healthy, because the messaging with that that I
- 16:09Speaker 2: had a problem with as a cancer survivor is made
- 16:14Speaker 2: me feel guilty like Cyndy Busby's cats parents didn't take
- 16:18Speaker 2: care of themselves and therefore got cancer and died. Right. Yeah,
- 16:24Speaker 2: there's thoughts always this straight correlation between one, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 2: A and B, especially with a disease like cancer.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Yes, and they could have used her love of fitness
- 16:36Speaker 1: in the camp. Like, you know, I've found being active
- 16:38Speaker 1: to be great for my mental health and to be
- 16:40Speaker 1: a great distraction. And so these kids are coming to
- 16:42Speaker 1: camp and they get to connect with other kids that
- 16:44Speaker 1: are going through it, and we have fun. You know,
- 16:46Speaker 1: we do sports and we do relays and whatever it
- 16:49Speaker 1: is as part of it, but not as you need
- 16:53Speaker 1: to be fit. Fit is a terrible word to use
- 16:56Speaker 1: for children.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Mm hmmm, I agree, I agree, I wish and this
- 17:05Speaker 2: is it's just such a side note. But so instead
- 17:07Speaker 2: of Rick, the excuse was that he put all this
- 17:11Speaker 2: weight on because he went through a breakup, right, Yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 2: it would have been funnier if he was like, yeah,
- 17:16Speaker 2: that pandemic, you know, yes, because he's an actor who
- 17:20Speaker 2: would have been like out of work because the pandemic
- 17:22Speaker 2: like clos things down for a while, and he could
- 17:24Speaker 2: just been like, yeah, like everybody else who put on
- 17:27Speaker 2: twenty pounds, you know, like humanize him a little bit
- 17:31Speaker 2: and in like reality of what our world is going through,
- 17:35Speaker 2: but still make it funny. It doesn't have to be
- 17:38Speaker 2: like because his ex girlfriend thing was such a like
- 17:43Speaker 2: throw away storyline that did not even need to exist.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I am so with you on that and the big
- 17:49Speaker 1: thing that I wished for in this movie was for
- 17:52Speaker 1: better pacing, because I felt like we almost had two movies.
- 17:57Speaker 1: We had the first half where the training takes place,
- 17:59Speaker 1: and we kind of come to a resolution at the
- 18:01Speaker 1: halfway point, and then we have the second half of
- 18:05Speaker 1: the movie where we have Kate trying to launch a camp.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Kate and Rick are exploring their feelings for each other.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Rick X returns, there's drama there, she leaves again. Then
- 18:13Speaker 1: we have Sasha and Jared exploring their relationship. There's too
- 18:18Speaker 1: much happening. And I one hundred percent agree that one
- 18:21Speaker 1: of the things we could have eliminated was the return
- 18:23Speaker 1: of ricks X. It was not necessary to the story.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Well, I thought the movie was pretty slow because, like
- 18:31Speaker 2: you said, the bulk of it relied on like Rick's
- 18:34Speaker 2: fitness journey, right, and it had to be slow because
- 18:37Speaker 2: it couldn't have just happened overnight, like we all realized,
- 18:40Speaker 2: like if you were trying to get in shape, it
- 18:42Speaker 2: doesn't happen immediately. But like you said, like that comes
- 18:45Speaker 2: to like a conclusion at the halfway point, and then
- 18:48Speaker 2: we have like these other weird, like you know, hanging
- 18:52Speaker 2: storylines that really maybe didn't like support the other one.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Yes, agree, it has me I like feeling all over.
- 19:00Speaker 2: The place because I like, I like some of it,
- 19:03Speaker 2: and then I hated some of it, and then yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yes, I wanted to like it. I am
- 19:10Speaker 1: rooting for Cindy Busby and this is not her fault.
- 19:13Speaker 1: There is. I don't She did the best with the
- 19:17Speaker 1: material she was given, and I think had the messaging
- 19:21Speaker 1: been different, I would have rated this movie entirely different.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Okay, So, speaking of body shaming, I also wanted to
- 19:28Speaker 2: share an IMDb review.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Oh I saw it, go ahead.
- 19:31Speaker 2: It says who thought making Cindy wear spandex and ugly
- 19:35Speaker 2: ones was a good idea? Her figure did not look
- 19:38Speaker 2: good in them. And what I would like to say
- 19:42Speaker 2: is scfu, like shit, don't go on to IMDb to
- 19:48Speaker 2: review a movie and then criticize the way somebody looked
- 19:52Speaker 2: and something that they were wearing, Like.
- 19:55Speaker 1: What, yeah, she looks great first of all and second
- 19:59Speaker 1: of all, well, I was thinking as I was watching,
- 20:02Speaker 1: like how great? Just just spend the entire movie in
- 20:04Speaker 1: workout clothes, like you know, and you don't have to
- 20:07Speaker 1: wear those canvas Cameron heels all week long?
- 20:09Speaker 2: Right? I read this review prior to watching the movie.
- 20:13Speaker 2: And then I saw the movie and I was like,
- 20:15Speaker 2: I would kill for her little stacked booty. She looked great,
- 20:18Speaker 2: So she does look great. Shut up, And I'm sure
- 20:21Speaker 2: it was a dude that wrote it.
- 20:23Speaker 1: You know, honestly, the fat phobia is so pervasive. I
- 20:26Speaker 1: would not be surprised if it was a woman. True,
- 20:29Speaker 1: this is true, just as guilty that we are. Are
- 20:33Speaker 1: you ready for did you see that?
- 20:35Speaker 2: Okay? Sure?
- 20:36Speaker 1: The entry of Santa Monica. Jim couldn't be less Santa Monica.
- 20:43Speaker 1: It's like looking out over the mountains. It has this huge, wide,
- 20:49Speaker 1: expansive driveway. There's no space. There is no space for that.
- 20:52Speaker 1: There's no freaking mountain. Yes, there are Santa Monica mountains,
- 20:55Speaker 1: that's not where this is. I was just like, could
- 20:59Speaker 1: we have put a green screen of like an ugly
- 21:02Speaker 1: city skate behind there, because that's what you're gonna get
- 21:04Speaker 1: across the street from an actual gym in Santa Monica.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yeah. I thought it was weird. It was very lodgy.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, it was very Vancouver, which I
- 21:15Speaker 1: like Vancouver, but it didn't read Santa Monica.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Okay. The sticker chart that Kate makes for Rick. Gosh, yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 2: why is it hanging in Kate's room? First of all,
- 21:25Speaker 2: it should be it's beneficial to Rick to see his progress, right.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but the huge thumbs up stickers it maybe? Lol?
- 21:36Speaker 2: It was so bad.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yeah, they were really bad. Why were they so big?
- 21:41Speaker 1: Why is it like a poster and not an eight
- 21:43Speaker 1: and a half by eleven sheet of printer paper. He's
- 21:45Speaker 1: not a preschooler.
- 21:47Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. It was weird, okay.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Roasting cauliflower, Oh my gosh. First of all, can you
- 21:57Speaker 1: will it actually cook if you put it on a
- 22:00Speaker 1: skewer and put it over fire like that? Will it
- 22:03Speaker 1: get like to be that roasted yummy cauliflower? I probably eventually,
- 22:08Speaker 1: but it's not gonna toast like a marshmallow. I mean
- 22:11Speaker 1: you're gonna sit there for fifteen minutes roast in your
- 22:13Speaker 1: damn cauliflower. So I like roasted cauliflower. I like roasted vegetables.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I think they are a delicious food. They're not freaking dessert.
- 22:21Speaker 2: No, that was weird, Like enjoy the vegan. I mean,
- 22:26Speaker 2: aren't marshmallows vegan anyway?
- 22:28Speaker 1: No, they're not, because they have gelatin in them. But
- 22:30Speaker 1: here's here, Here is my big complaint. Vegan doesn't mean healthy.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Like that's like saying like gluten free is healthier for you, know,
- 22:39Speaker 1: it's not. It is a removal of a product that
- 22:41Speaker 1: you may have a personal objection to ora intolerance for.
- 22:46Speaker 1: But the fact that something is sugar free or gluten
- 22:49Speaker 1: free or plant based doesn't necessarily make it immediately healthier
- 22:54Speaker 1: for you, Like as somewhere is a perfectly fine dessert
- 22:59Speaker 1: as long as you're not eating thirty some mores as
- 23:01Speaker 1: your entire diet for the entire day.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but she was not gonna allow that to happen.
- 23:06Speaker 1: You know she wasn't. But this messaging is super dangerous, Like,
- 23:11Speaker 1: don't ever you're at a party, don't endult dulge, bring
- 23:14Speaker 1: your own cauliflower and spices to roast over the I
- 23:17Speaker 1: would know I would walk into the sea if you
- 23:20Speaker 1: handed me cauliflower to roast while everybody else is having
- 23:24Speaker 1: a some more.
- 23:25Speaker 2: No, speaking of the sea, did you see their head
- 23:28Speaker 2: to toe wetsuits plus gloves.
- 23:31Speaker 1: When they were like freezing it? Had you been freezing cold,
- 23:35Speaker 1: they must have been in dry suits.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I don't know what that is.
- 23:39Speaker 1: It's a suit that doesn't let the water through.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Oh, how's that different than a wetsuit?
- 23:44Speaker 1: Because a wet suit is water permeable, it just warms
- 23:48Speaker 1: it up against your body. A dry suit is you're
- 23:50Speaker 1: dry on the inside.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Who knew? Yeah? I mean, if they were filming this
- 23:55Speaker 2: in May of last year, yeah, I had to be
- 23:57Speaker 2: freezing well.
- 23:58Speaker 1: And if they're somewhere in Canada in some lake with
- 24:04Speaker 1: icy mountain rumoff, I would imagine it's quite cold.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Why couldn't they have just like did a different exercise.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I kind of liked the water scenes, although they did
- 24:15Speaker 1: that paddle board and they're kind of floating in the water,
- 24:18Speaker 1: and as far as I could tell, they had one
- 24:20Speaker 1: paddle board that Rick gets on, and then all of
- 24:22Speaker 1: a sudden they're both on a paddle board. I was like,
- 24:24Speaker 1: where was the other one second of all, they were
- 24:26Speaker 1: in the middle of this lake or wherever they were,
- 24:31Speaker 1: How did they get out there? Because she's like teaching
- 24:33Speaker 1: him how to paddle? How'd you get out away from
- 24:35Speaker 1: the shoulder?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Did you?
- 24:39Speaker 1: Okay, I'm nitpicking here, I know, I know you know
- 24:42Speaker 1: that the best best part of this.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Movie was the terrible dancing.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Oh no, but I do have that cringe worthy dancing
- 24:50Speaker 1: and it was entirely too long.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I'm so glad they had Devin Alexander's character call it
- 24:57Speaker 1: out Nora Nether regions.
- 25:00Speaker 2: I okay, so I read about it, but I never
- 25:02Speaker 2: caught it when I watched it.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So that's the character name that Rick's x is given
- 25:07Speaker 1: in the movie that they are going to star in
- 25:10Speaker 1: together in other regions. It's like the Hallmark appropriate pussy Galore.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Oh just yes, okay, I get it now, Yes, thank
- 25:20Speaker 2: you for putting it all together for me. Now it's funny.
- 25:24Speaker 1: It made me laugh.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Are you ready to read this movie?
- 25:27Speaker 1: I am. I'm ready.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Okay, I want you to go first.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Oh one star? Really, I can't. I can't. It is honestly,
- 25:38Speaker 1: I think it's what's the word, what irresponsible?
- 25:42Speaker 2: Okay? I gave it three stars.
- 25:47Speaker 1: If I were to remove everything I'm mad about, I
- 25:51Speaker 1: would be a three star movie for me too. But
- 25:53Speaker 1: I cannot. No, I can't do it. I'm so sorry.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I mean, I hear you.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I hear you too. I get I do understand where
- 26:03Speaker 1: you're coming from. I was just real mad. I mean,
- 26:06Speaker 1: I have like all caps in my notes. I was
- 26:08Speaker 1: like tap tap tap tap tup tup tup table like
- 26:10Speaker 1: on my computer last night as I was taking notes.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, well that was interesting.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Well, you know, next week is road Trip Romance, where
- 26:20Speaker 1: we're gonna be equally angry because it's gonna be Green,
- 26:23Speaker 1: Green City.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I'm not looking forward to it.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I did think the preview was kind of cute.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Really, AKA, no, I'm no, no, I can't get excited
- 26:35Speaker 2: for it. I'm sorry.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Well we shall see. Am I gonna come back and
- 26:39Speaker 1: rage against the writers of this movie? What horribly offensive
- 26:44Speaker 1: take are they gonna have in this movie? We shall
- 26:48Speaker 1: find out. If you love this podcast, we love you too.
- 26:52Speaker 1: We would love your five star ratings and review. You
- 26:54Speaker 1: can leave them in the Apple Podcasts app Until then,
- 26:58Speaker 1: happy watching, Have a great weekend, everybody, goodbye bye,
