- 0:01Speaker 1: Thank you, Mike Lane. Not probably how you drew it
- 0:04Speaker 1: up last night, but you come away with the win
- 0:06Speaker 1: in Saint Louis four to three in overtime. Chandler Stevenson
- 0:09Speaker 1: record latest game time goal and team history. Another big
- 0:13Speaker 1: goal for Shane. Right, just take us through a very
- 0:15Speaker 1: up and down, wild game that ultimately ended up in
- 0:18Speaker 1: your favor.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yeah, well that's why you know, that's why it's sixty minutes, right,
- 0:24Speaker 2: and I guess sixty plus minutes. You could have played
- 0:26Speaker 2: quite a few of those this year. But you know,
- 0:29Speaker 2: we I thought we played a thought we played a
- 0:32Speaker 2: good game, and it would have been a shame had
- 0:34Speaker 2: we not come out with something in that game. You know,
- 0:37Speaker 2: the bonus was to get the extra point and get
- 0:40Speaker 2: the victory. Our team played hard. I thought we competed hard.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I thought we did a lot of good things in
- 0:45Speaker 2: that game, and we were much better than we were
- 0:49Speaker 2: in the previous game at home, obviously, So it was
- 0:54Speaker 2: good to see them take ownership of that and have
- 0:57Speaker 2: a great response.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Would you make of the crack in the biggest differences
- 1:00Speaker 1: between period one period two, they're down to nothing, they
- 1:04Speaker 1: tied the game to to where did you see the
- 1:05Speaker 1: biggest momentum swing in that middle period.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I thought, again, I didn't think we played early in
- 1:11Speaker 2: the first period by the way, you know, turnover ends
- 1:15Speaker 2: up in the back of our net. You know, we
- 1:17Speaker 2: can't do things like take too many men in the
- 1:19Speaker 2: ice penalties. It's just not just can't happen, right, And
- 1:23Speaker 2: I know it does happen, but those are the types
- 1:26Speaker 2: of things that you know, if we we want to
- 1:29Speaker 2: be successful and we we want to be the leite
- 1:32Speaker 2: team that we think we can be, we can't do that.
- 1:34Speaker 2: So now all of a sudden, it's too nothing. But
- 1:37Speaker 2: I thought we just kept with it offensively in the
- 1:40Speaker 2: second period. I thought we'd pushed forward. Our core check
- 1:43Speaker 2: was great, and I thought we had a balance of
- 1:45Speaker 2: our four lines all going. And you know, I thought,
- 1:49Speaker 2: you know, we we tilted the ice, so to speak.
- 1:52Speaker 2: And you know, I thought that was the biggest difference
- 1:55Speaker 2: maybe between the second period and the first period.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Some lineup changes last night. One of them is right
- 2:00Speaker 1: Evans coming back in a goal and an assist in
- 2:02Speaker 1: his season debut. Would you like about his game last night?
- 2:05Speaker 1: And then also some of the other changes that you
- 2:07Speaker 1: made working out offensively as well as Ellie Tovinan with
- 2:10Speaker 1: a goal and two assist.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Also, yeah, I will Evan's clearly a fantastic skater. You know,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I thought he added the spark that we needed and certainly,
- 2:22Speaker 2: you know, looking forward to seeing him, you know, throughout
- 2:25Speaker 2: the season here, just to see him continue to get
- 2:28Speaker 2: better and better. And you know, Tolvy, we talked about
- 2:31Speaker 2: Tolby before. You know, he's done a lot of good things,
- 2:34Speaker 2: you know, without the puck, and a lot of good
- 2:36Speaker 2: things away from the puck throughout the first I guess
- 2:39Speaker 2: thirteen games of the season, and you know, finally he
- 2:42Speaker 2: broke the icing game fourteen, and you know, we hope
- 2:45Speaker 2: to have that continue. You know, I thought his line
- 2:50Speaker 2: of Myers and carts they played very well.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Another game back to back. Matt Murray gonna go here today.
- 2:56Speaker 1: So I'll ask you the same question I asked you yesterday. Defensively,
- 3:00Speaker 1: how important is that structure going to be to help
- 3:03Speaker 1: a goaltender that hasn't played a lot of consistent minutes
- 3:06Speaker 1: this season.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Well, it's going to be critical. You know, it's not
- 3:11Speaker 2: easy when you come in you haven't played for probably
- 3:13Speaker 2: three weeks or whatever it is. We've got to help
- 3:15Speaker 2: them out, And I thought we did a good job
- 3:16Speaker 2: last night of helping groovy. You know, we gave them
- 3:18Speaker 2: nineteen shots our goal. And you know, I just think
- 3:23Speaker 2: that we need to be solid structurally sound defensively. They've
- 3:27Speaker 2: got some offensive weapons, there's no question about it. Wyatt
- 3:30Speaker 2: Johnson hints rant, and we've got to make sure that
- 3:33Speaker 2: we contain these guys and do it with a team effort.
- 3:38Speaker 1: In addition to that, what do you feel is going
- 3:39Speaker 1: to be an X factor here tonight? I remember asking
- 3:41Speaker 1: you after the last back to back set, you said,
- 3:43Speaker 1: simply put Game two against Washington wasn't good enough. What
- 3:47Speaker 1: do you have to do here tonight for a good
- 3:49Speaker 1: enough performance to win?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Well, it's just a level of compete our hockey team
- 3:54Speaker 2: now has to take. You know, at some point here
- 3:57Speaker 2: we have to take another step in our growth and
- 4:00Speaker 2: understand that last night's game was one. It was one
- 4:03Speaker 2: Emotionally late, it was all great, but as soon as
- 4:06Speaker 2: we walked out of that building, it was over. And
- 4:08Speaker 2: this game now has to be won. So you know,
- 4:11Speaker 2: that's that's for me. It's a mental mindset. You know,
- 4:15Speaker 2: the other part of it is is we've got to
- 4:17Speaker 2: stay out of the box. I've got a great power
- 4:18Speaker 2: play and so special teams will be certainly a key
- 4:21Speaker 2: here in this game.
