- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 185! Can you believe it? Lucas: I know, it's amazing. Last time we learned 'baca' and 'tulis'. I caught you reading a Malay magazine, didn't I? Luna: You did! I was trying to read it, but honestly, I'm still slow. But I wrote a whole sentence today. Lucas: That's progress. Today, let's add two more verbs that are super useful — 'lihat' and 'dengar'. Luna: ‘Lihat’ and ‘dengar’. Okay, 'lihat'... is that 'see'? Lucas: Exactly. 'Lihat' means 'see' or 'look'. For example, 'Saya lihat kucing' — I see a cat. Luna: Saya lihat kucing. I see a cat. That's easy. Lucas: Now you try saying it slowly: 'Saya lihat kucing'. Luna: Saya... lihat... kucing. Lucas: Perfect. Now, 'dengar' means 'hear' or 'listen'. Like 'Saya dengar muzik' — I listen to music. Luna: Saya dengar muzik. I listen to music. I can do that! Lucas: Let's hear it. Luna: Saya dengar muzik. Lucas: Great. Now let's switch it up. 'Dia lihat gambar' — He sees a picture. Luna: Dia lihat gambar. So 'dia' is he or she? Lucas: Right. And 'gambar' is picture. So you can say 'Dia lihat gambar'. Luna: Okay, 'Dia lihat gambar'. Lucas: Now try 'Kita dengar radio' — We listen to the radio. Luna: Kita dengar radio. That sounds good. Lucas: Let's do a quick scene. Imagine we're at a park. What do you see, Luna? Luna: Umm... 'Saya lihat burung'? I see a bird? Lucas: Excellent! 'Burung' is bird. So 'Saya lihat burung'. Luna: Saya lihat burung. Lucas: And what do you hear? Luna: Saya dengar burung? I hear a bird? Lucas: Yes! 'Saya dengar burung' works too. Birds singing. Luna: So 'lihat' is eyes, 'dengar' is ears. Got it. Lucas: Exactly. Now let's practice with a few more. 'Saya lihat...' what? Luna: Saya lihat bunga. I see a flower. Lucas: Beautiful. 'Saya dengar...'? Luna: Saya dengar lagu. I hear a song. Lucas: 'Lagu' — song. Perfect. You're getting the hang of it. Luna: It's nice to have these verbs. I feel like I can describe more now. Lucas: That's the idea. By the way, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Malay, there's a simple way to keep it going. Luna: Yeah, a couple of dollars a month is genuinely what keeps these episodes coming. Buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Lucas: Exactly. It really adds up and helps us stay ad-free. Luna: Totally. Okay, back to practicing. So 'lihat' and 'dengar' — let's do one more round. Lucas: Sure. I'll say an English sentence, you say it in Malay. 'I see the moon.' Luna: Saya lihat bulan. Lucas: 'I hear the wind.' Luna: Saya dengar angin. Lucas: Perfect. 'Angin' is wind. Great job today, Luna. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. I'm feeling more confident. See you next time! Lucas: Practice 'lihat' and 'dengar' this week. Selamat belajar — happy learning!
