- 0:02Hello, hello.
- 0:05You got cat today.
- 0:07So Scott is traveling and
- 0:11I'm actually traveling this
- 0:12week for work.
- 0:13I'm going to be in
- 0:13Connecticut for a couple of
- 0:14days and not going to be
- 0:16able to do my normal Wednesday,
- 0:18five PM podcast.
- 0:19So I figured maybe I should
- 0:21just go on now and give you
- 0:22guys an update because I
- 0:23have a really funny story
- 0:24from Saturday night to tell you about.
- 0:26And I didn't want two weeks
- 0:27to go by before we talked about it.
- 0:30So, um,
- 0:31I'm struggling with this background.
- 0:32Should we do this or should we do this?
- 0:39I'm not really sure.
- 0:40I'm going to leave it with
- 0:41Lunch with Clydesdale
- 0:41because that's really the
- 0:42show that it's on.
- 0:43I am guest co-host for the day.
- 0:47So hopefully you guys will
- 0:48jump in and chat with me
- 0:50for a little bit and we'll
- 0:52get right into it.
- 0:53So I don't have a whole lot of time.
- 0:55I do have to go back to work.
- 0:56But let's see what happened.
- 0:58What happened?
- 1:00um elbow update I yes aaron
- 1:04um the christmas tree is
- 1:05gone I hope you're happy I
- 1:08was really getting tired of
- 1:09the bullying it would have
- 1:10been right there um now
- 1:13there's a lamp there so
- 1:15anyway yes progress um
- 1:18thursday would I talk to
- 1:20you guys friday night
- 1:21thursday I went to pt I am
- 1:23completely cleared to do whatever I want
- 1:27Um,
- 1:27so your girl is doing whatever she
- 1:29wants with that elbow.
- 1:30Let me tell you.
- 1:31Um,
- 1:31I still have a few more appointments to
- 1:32go to like once a week,
- 1:33they do some like deep tissue stuff.
- 1:35My bicep is still really bothering me.
- 1:38Um, so I'm trying to take care of that,
- 1:41but, um, all is well with that.
- 1:43And I'll weave in some workout stories too,
- 1:45as we go through the week.
- 1:47So Thursday night, um,
- 1:50let's see what I do Thursday night.
- 1:51I had a friend who retired
- 1:53from the bank I used to work at and he
- 1:55reached out to me to tell me
- 1:56that they were doing a
- 1:56happy hour for him at this
- 1:58local bar down the street.
- 1:59So I popped in there for a
- 2:00drink and met some old
- 2:02people that I used to work with.
- 2:03It was super fun.
- 2:05And then we are going to get
- 2:08into the theme for this week.
- 2:11Aside from guys not being honest,
- 2:15my friends bailing on me.
- 2:16My girlfriends are usually pretty good
- 2:20co-pilots and hanging out
- 2:21and being available and doing things.
- 2:23And I try my best to
- 2:24accommodate my schedule for them.
- 2:27Some of my friends have some
- 2:28weird schedules where they
- 2:29work on Saturday or they work on Sunday,
- 2:31so they can't go out until Monday night.
- 2:33And I don't really have to
- 2:34get up early if I don't need to.
- 2:35And so I'm up for anything whenever.
- 2:39But Thursday night,
- 2:40I had planned to go to this
- 2:42fundraising happy hour with
- 2:43some girlfriends of mine.
- 2:44And that was the plan for my second stop.
- 2:48And by the time I got to my second stop,
- 2:50they all were like, nevermind.
- 2:52We're I'm sitting at home
- 2:53drinking a glass of wine or
- 2:54I'm doing this or doing that.
- 2:55So they bailed.
- 2:56No problem.
- 2:57I did not want to go to that
- 2:58fundraiser by myself.
- 3:00So I sort of circled back
- 3:02around and I was already there,
- 3:03but I drove back to closer
- 3:04to my house and I went to, um,
- 3:07this place called Nick's pizza,
- 3:08which is like newly opened.
- 3:10I don't know if I told you
- 3:11guys about my buddy, Eddie,
- 3:12who was the bartender at
- 3:14the Mexican restaurant.
- 3:16Um,
- 3:17underneath me um when I say
- 3:19underneath me I live on top
- 3:20of a mexican restaurant so
- 3:22um eddie's sort of my
- 3:23wingman he's a super fun
- 3:24guy but he doesn't work
- 3:26there anymore he works at
- 3:26this place called next so I
- 3:28know if I went to the bar
- 3:29and just ate my dinner
- 3:31there I'd have at least
- 3:31somebody to talk to um so I
- 3:34went there it was really
- 3:34crowded as I'm waiting for
- 3:37a bar show to open up this
- 3:39guy taps me on the shoulder
- 3:40and it's somebody that I've
- 3:41known for years and years
- 3:42he was actually a bartender
- 3:44at another place that my
- 3:46ex-husband and I used to go to
- 3:47for a long time,
- 3:48like every Saturday night for decades.
- 3:51Anyway,
- 3:52so he and I sit at the bar together
- 3:54and have dinner.
- 3:54Well,
- 3:56part of me was excited because I got
- 3:58to catch up with my friend.
- 3:59But the other part of me was like, damn,
- 4:01I'm like trying to go out,
- 4:01be by myself and meet people in real life,
- 4:03just like everyone's been
- 4:04telling me to do.
- 4:06And now it appears like I'm with this guy,
- 4:09which was not a date.
- 4:10He's engaged.
- 4:12Um, but Eddie comes up and says hi to me,
- 4:14introduces himself to my friend.
- 4:16And the first thing I say to
- 4:17Eddie is this is not a date.
- 4:19And my friend looks at Eddie and was like,
- 4:22wait, it's not a date.
- 4:23I thought this was a date
- 4:24and he was just joking around,
- 4:25but it was really kind of funny.
- 4:27So anyway,
- 4:28we're chit chatting and having a
- 4:29good time.
- 4:30And I purposely stay, um,
- 4:32until after my friend leaves again,
- 4:34because I was trying to go
- 4:35there and meet people.
- 4:37And, uh, you know,
- 4:37when you're sitting with a guy,
- 4:38it doesn't matter.
- 4:39Like, gosh,
- 4:39I think even if I go out like
- 4:41with my brother,
- 4:42to the mall or something.
- 4:43People are going to assume
- 4:44that we're a couple.
- 4:44It's just kind of
- 4:45interesting how that works.
- 4:46Um, but anyway, that was Thursday night.
- 4:49Had a good time.
- 4:50Obviously didn't meet
- 4:50anybody in real life.
- 4:53Friday, um, Friday morning, we did Diane,
- 4:57um, at the, at brainwine CrossFit.
- 4:59Um, they do mayhem programming.
- 5:00So if you guys follow mayhem,
- 5:02I guess a bunch of people did Diane,
- 5:03but for those of you that don't know,
- 5:05Diane is one of my favorite
- 5:06benchmark workouts and your
- 5:08girl is a handstand pushup wizard.
- 5:11Um,
- 5:11but I have not, um,
- 5:14I haven't done handstand
- 5:15pushups since before my surgery.
- 5:17So I went and pulling a
- 5:19barbell is probably not the
- 5:20best thing for me to do
- 5:21either because when my elbow locks out,
- 5:23that's when it gets sore and irritated.
- 5:26So, um,
- 5:27I went ninety five pounds on the
- 5:28deadlifts, which, you know,
- 5:30I know total was smooth,
- 5:31but that was really all I can handle.
- 5:33But your girl did twenty one
- 5:35unbroken handstand pushups in round one.
- 5:38I was so excited.
- 5:40Hi, Holly.
- 5:41Uh,
- 5:42Twenty one.
- 5:42And they were beautiful, like and no pain.
- 5:45And I think the coaches were like,
- 5:47what's going on?
- 5:47Because I don't think they expected that.
- 5:49But it was awesome.
- 5:50Now,
- 5:50did I fall apart in the round of
- 5:52fifteen in the round of nine?
- 5:53Yeah, pretty much.
- 5:54I did like five, five, three, two.
- 5:56And then I think on the round of nine,
- 5:58I did like three, three, two, one,
- 5:59because I was pretty much dead.
- 6:01But I was really excited about that.
- 6:03So that was a huge win for
- 6:04me on Friday morning.
- 6:07Friday lunchtime,
- 6:08I went and saw my therapist.
- 6:09She's amazing.
- 6:10I still love her very, very much.
- 6:12And I always feel better
- 6:13when I go to see her.
- 6:14I'm actually not seeing her
- 6:15for like another two weeks
- 6:16because I just think
- 6:17sometimes I just go there
- 6:18to talk to her about whatever.
- 6:20And she's probably just as
- 6:21entertained as you guys are
- 6:23about my crazy life.
- 6:25So I did that.
- 6:27And then I went and had a
- 6:28voice lesson with my friend Gus,
- 6:30who is like an opera singer
- 6:32and very accomplished.
- 6:33And that was super fun.
- 6:34He, he tested my range.
- 6:37Turns out I have actually a
- 6:39pretty good range I'm just
- 6:40not comfortable in those
- 6:41higher notes but I can
- 6:42actually hit them we
- 6:44practiced some songs he
- 6:45taught me how to breathe
- 6:46while I'm singing and how
- 6:48to warm up and protect my
- 6:49voice so that was like
- 6:50super super cool um and
- 6:53then I did my normal friday
- 6:54night thing with my
- 6:55girlfriends we went to um
- 6:57this place called the gap
- 6:59um had a few drinks then we
- 7:00went to this place called
- 7:02kirkwood country club
- 7:02because it had um this band there ronnie
- 7:07Dee and Mikey, Richie B or something.
- 7:09I'm going to get the names mixed up.
- 7:10It was two guys playing guitar,
- 7:12like nineties, you know,
- 7:14rock pop music stuff.
- 7:15Lots of dancing was happening.
- 7:17It was a lot of fun.
- 7:19And then we jumped around to
- 7:20a couple of other places.
- 7:21And I was the designated driver as usual.
- 7:25And my friend, one of my friends, you know,
- 7:27proceeded to get pretty,
- 7:29pretty liquored up.
- 7:29So I drove her home.
- 7:32Oh,
- 7:33one of the bartenders at one of the
- 7:34last places we went to
- 7:37This guy Butch, he's in a punk band.
- 7:39He's a drummer for a punk
- 7:40band and he wants to create a trio band,
- 7:43him, his son who plays guitar,
- 7:45and a female lead singer.
- 7:47We talked briefly about
- 7:49maybe that would be an
- 7:50opportunity for me as well,
- 7:51but I don't know how solid
- 7:53that idea is or if it's
- 7:55even going to work,
- 7:55but that was fun anyway.
- 7:58So that was Friday night,
- 7:59got in really late.
- 8:00Saturday morning,
- 8:00woke up and went to
- 8:03CrossFit again in the morning,
- 8:04had a really good partner
- 8:04workout with this girl, Jenny,
- 8:06who's a beast at my gym.
- 8:09My cousin had a baby shower.
- 8:11My daughter and I went to that.
- 8:13We had some mimosas, had some good food,
- 8:14got to see our family a
- 8:16little bit and celebrate my
- 8:18cousin who's having a baby in June,
- 8:21baby girl.
- 8:22And then...
- 8:24I was supposed to go, here's another,
- 8:25my friends are bailing story.
- 8:27I was supposed to go to this
- 8:28luau fundraiser for the
- 8:29green braid project.
- 8:30And if you guys know me, um,
- 8:32I've supported that
- 8:33organization for quite a while.
- 8:34Now they do a fundraising CrossFit event.
- 8:37That's been in Wilmington
- 8:38the last couple of years.
- 8:40And I've been like one of
- 8:40the event directors for that event.
- 8:42Scott has gone down and covered it, um,
- 8:45for Clydesdale media in the past as well.
- 8:47Um, you know,
- 8:48I've brought a lot of judges
- 8:49to that organization and done
- 8:51like some scoring stuff and
- 8:53some other admin work.
- 8:54But anyway,
- 8:54they were doing this fundraiser
- 8:56for pig roast.
- 8:56I bought four tickets, spent like,
- 8:58I don't know,
- 8:59almost three hundred dollars
- 9:00on these tickets.
- 9:01But the pig roast was like an hour away.
- 9:03And so, of course,
- 9:04I wanted friends to go with me.
- 9:06I had asked a in real life
- 9:09guy if he wanted to go and
- 9:10he had already made plans.
- 9:10So I asked any girlfriends
- 9:13that were willing.
- 9:14And of course, Friday night,
- 9:16when we went out, everyone was like, yeah,
- 9:18I'm going to go.
- 9:18It's going to be so much fun.
- 9:19And then on Saturday,
- 9:20everyone starts bailing on
- 9:21me at like noon or one
- 9:23o'clock and they're like, oh,
- 9:23I'm so hung over.
- 9:25You know,
- 9:25I think I'm going to just chill today.
- 9:27So I had a kind of a
- 9:28decision to make whether I
- 9:29was going to go or not and
- 9:30decided not to go.
- 9:32I was actually talking to
- 9:35this guy on a dating app
- 9:37and we were trying to get together.
- 9:39We were going to get
- 9:39together next Thursday,
- 9:41like three days from now,
- 9:42because that was the last
- 9:43the next time I was available.
- 9:45And, uh, we talked on the phone, I guess,
- 9:47Friday afternoon,
- 9:49and then maybe again on Saturday.
- 9:50And I said, Hey, I'm free tonight.
- 9:52You know, last minute,
- 9:53why don't we get together tonight?
- 9:55And he was like, okay, cool.
- 9:56We can do that.
- 9:56And we sort of hemmed and
- 9:57hawed on where we were going to meet.
- 9:59He lives.
- 10:01Downtown Philadelphia area.
- 10:02And I didn't really want to
- 10:03go downtown Philadelphia.
- 10:04So I picked like a suburb
- 10:06that's sort of halfway for both of us.
- 10:08And, uh, we were going to,
- 10:10he was going to text me
- 10:10when he left and I was just
- 10:11going to leave.
- 10:12He was like, three minutes away.
- 10:13I was twenty-five minutes away.
- 10:15And we were going to meet and hang out.
- 10:16Kenneth, what's up?
- 10:18Welcome.
- 10:20So I get dressed, shower, do the hair,
- 10:24all the things.
- 10:24Oh, you can tell me, guys.
- 10:26People have very strong
- 10:27opinions about the hair.
- 10:28Let's talk about this for a second.
- 10:30Curly or straight or like curling iron?
- 10:35The last episode,
- 10:36I think my hair was curled
- 10:37with a curling iron.
- 10:40I want to know from a guy's
- 10:41opinion what you guys think.
- 10:42Because every time I ask a guy,
- 10:44they're like, oh, it doesn't matter,
- 10:45whatever you're comfortable with.
- 10:46But I know that's bullshit.
- 10:47And I know you have sort of, hi, Jeffrey,
- 10:50sort of an opinion on that.
- 10:52So let me know.
- 10:52I'll be curious to see if we
- 10:53like it kind of wild and crazy curly.
- 10:55Do we like it straight and refined?
- 10:57Or do we like it somewhere in between?
- 10:59And I guess, Kenneth,
- 11:00we're calling that wavy.
- 11:02So we'll see about that.
- 11:04Anyway.
- 11:05I think I look better with
- 11:06it sort of smooth and straight.
- 11:07I think it like evens out my
- 11:09complexion a little bit.
- 11:10I know that's like way too
- 11:10girly for everybody for all
- 11:12you boys out there.
- 11:13Um, but that's my opinion.
- 11:15So, uh,
- 11:15females weigh in as well because I
- 11:18kind of care what you think too.
- 11:19I think sometimes we have a better taste.
- 11:22Um, anyway, uh, what was I saying?
- 11:26Shit.
- 11:26Oh, so we were going to,
- 11:27I was going to meet this guy.
- 11:29So, um,
- 11:30He texted me and asked me
- 11:32what the dress code was,
- 11:33and I told him what I was wearing.
- 11:34I was wearing a black tank
- 11:37top and these kitten heels.
- 11:40I was being a little more
- 11:41dressed up than normal.
- 11:42I was not my normal skater
- 11:44boy outfit with vans and cargo pants.
- 11:47I wanted to get dressed up.
- 11:48And he was like, oh,
- 11:49I have to get dressed up.
- 11:50And I said, no, just wear.
- 11:52I don't care if you wear
- 11:53jeans if there's no real dress code.
- 11:57Andrew likes it more straight than curly.
- 11:59Thank you, Andrew.
- 11:59Thank you for being honest.
- 12:01I'm good with that too.
- 12:03Jay Birch likes some curl,
- 12:06but it matters how you feel in it.
- 12:07Yeah, I guess you're right.
- 12:08Like if you feel a little
- 12:09more confident one way or the other,
- 12:10it probably shows through.
- 12:15Holly's jealous of my curls.
- 12:16Yeah, you know what?
- 12:17This is going to make you really angry.
- 12:20This is hair from, what's today, Monday?
- 12:22This is hair from my date on
- 12:25Saturday night.
- 12:26And then I slept in it last
- 12:29Saturday night.
- 12:29I worked out in it Sunday
- 12:31morning and did like a
- 12:35forty minute high rocks
- 12:36workout with lots of running,
- 12:39lots of kettlebell swings
- 12:40and like one hundred and ten burpees.
- 12:43And then I lived my life yesterday,
- 12:45slept in it last night and
- 12:46just kind of fluffed it this morning.
- 12:48So the curls are nice to like.
- 12:51For me, low maintenance,
- 12:52I can sort of get away with
- 12:53not washing it for a while.
- 12:54Anyway, back to the story.
- 12:57So we're going to,
- 12:58we're supposed to meet and
- 13:00he sends me a picture of a
- 13:03tire with a nail in it.
- 13:05And he, I'm going to, we're going to,
- 13:08we're going to do a little
- 13:09play by play here.
- 13:10Cause I think I deleted his messages.
- 13:13Um, cause you know, this isn't ending well,
- 13:15but we had like almost
- 13:17three hundred text messages
- 13:20from each other talking
- 13:21back and forth the last couple of weeks.
- 13:24Um, and it was nothing.
- 13:25know we're just kind of
- 13:26getting to know each other
- 13:28um and phone calls we
- 13:30talked on the phone um
- 13:32several times anyway so
- 13:34let's see he sends me he
- 13:36sends me this I don't know
- 13:36if you can see this can you
- 13:38see this right oh his name
- 13:41his name is not joe it's
- 13:43like his name is joe um
- 13:45anyway so he writes I'm
- 13:46gonna flip out and I said
- 13:47oh no he said I was running
- 13:49to cvs this is elaborate
- 13:50guys I was running to cvs
- 13:52I'm going to see if anyone
- 13:53is open to fix it real quick
- 13:55This is at five fifty five on a Saturday.
- 13:58And then he comes back in at
- 14:00like six fifteen.
- 14:01He's like, no, I'm screwed.
- 14:02No pun intended.
- 14:03No one is open.
- 14:04And I said, I'm just sitting here like,
- 14:07all right, you have a nail in your tire.
- 14:09He had said he had just came
- 14:10back from the beach.
- 14:11He probably drove two hours
- 14:13with him with this nail in his tire.
- 14:16Like, just keep driving on it, dude.
- 14:18You'll be fine.
- 14:19And if not, he has like some coverage.
- 14:22It wasn't AAA.
- 14:22It was something else.
- 14:24because he has like a fleet
- 14:25car because he's in sales.
- 14:27He said, so I can drive on it,
- 14:28but if it goes, but if it comes out,
- 14:30it's going to go flat.
- 14:31And then I'm thinking like,
- 14:32don't you know how to
- 14:32change a freaking tire?
- 14:33Like criteria number one for
- 14:35like an actual man that I
- 14:37would be dating would know
- 14:38how to do that.
- 14:40He said, no, I have BBL.
- 14:41It's a fleet vehicle.
- 14:42I called them already
- 14:43waiting for them to call me
- 14:44back to tell me how long.
- 14:46And I said, you're home, right?
- 14:48And he's like, yeah, why?
- 14:49I said,
- 14:49I was just making sure you weren't
- 14:51still at the beach because
- 14:51he was at the beach earlier
- 14:53during the day,
- 14:53like opening up his beach
- 14:54house or something.
- 14:55Assuming he even has a beach house,
- 14:56he probably doesn't.
- 14:59He said, no, I'm home.
- 15:00He said, we can go out down here,
- 15:01but I feel bad if you have to drive.
- 15:03And I said,
- 15:03it's not what I had in mind for
- 15:04our first encounter.
- 15:05I didn't want to go all the way down to,
- 15:08he lives in like South Philly.
- 15:08I didn't want to do that.
- 15:10He said, I get it.
- 15:10Trust me.
- 15:11I just feel bad.
- 15:12I must've gotten it in the
- 15:13tire on the way home from the shore.
- 15:16Again, elaborate story.
- 15:18He said, so are we calling it?
- 15:21And he said, if you want,
- 15:21I'm not sure when they will
- 15:23get here to fix it.
- 15:24I don't want to hold you up
- 15:24if you can make other plans.
- 15:26And then I thought to myself, I was like,
- 15:27well,
- 15:27can't you just have them come to the
- 15:29place where we're going to meet?
- 15:31Like you drive it the twenty
- 15:33minutes that you have to
- 15:33get to where we're meeting
- 15:35and then plan on having
- 15:36them come there and change your tire.
- 15:37Like you're saving some time.
- 15:39You still get to see me.
- 15:40And again,
- 15:41why I'm the dude making solutions here,
- 15:44I do not know.
- 15:45That's something I need to work on because
- 15:47it backfires on me all the
- 15:48time and it's not giving off like,
- 15:50you know, damsel in distress,
- 15:53feminine energy that guys like.
- 15:57So anyway, meanwhile,
- 15:58I'm like talking to one of
- 15:59my girlfriends and she's saying, Oh,
- 16:02when are you going out?
- 16:03You know, what are you doing?
- 16:04And I go to show her the
- 16:06picture of the tire because
- 16:08I thought like,
- 16:09that's easier to say than
- 16:10what's going on.
- 16:11And so I had downloaded the
- 16:13picture that he sent me.
- 16:14And I think you probably see
- 16:15where I'm going here, but
- 16:17I went to pull up the photo
- 16:18to send to my girlfriend in
- 16:20my photo app and it wasn't there.
- 16:22And I was like, oh, that's really weird.
- 16:24But then I remembered when
- 16:26you save a photo that
- 16:27someone sends you and it's got the,
- 16:30like all the data behind it
- 16:32around when it was taken
- 16:33and where it was taken and all that,
- 16:35it puts it in your photo
- 16:36album in chronological order.
- 16:39So it didn't put it at the
- 16:41bottom of my thing because
- 16:43that's not when the picture was taken.
- 16:46So now I'm in Sherlock
- 16:47Holmes mode and I am not
- 16:49responding to this guy,
- 16:50but I am frantically going
- 16:51through my phone,
- 16:52scrolling the thirteen
- 16:54thousand pictures I have
- 16:55trying to find this fucking
- 16:56tiger picture.
- 16:57Of course,
- 16:57I can't find it because it's
- 16:58like finding a needle in a haystack.
- 17:00So I go back to his text and
- 17:02I download the picture like
- 17:04eighteen times so that it becomes,
- 17:06you know,
- 17:07this big swath of pictures as
- 17:08you're scrolling.
- 17:10I finally found it.
- 17:12May of twenty twenty four is
- 17:14when this picture was taken.
- 17:17So he sent me an old photo,
- 17:20like purposely crafted this
- 17:22whole crazy story about why
- 17:25he couldn't meet me.
- 17:26Even though he said like,
- 17:27you could come down, like what,
- 17:28what would we have done if I had said,
- 17:30okay, I'll come down and see you.
- 17:31Like, was he not going to show up?
- 17:35I have no idea, but he kept saying like,
- 17:38you know, if I get stuck on the highway,
- 17:39I'm screwed.
- 17:40Then I'm going to be sitting
- 17:41on the side of the road.
- 17:42And then he said, you aren't saying much,
- 17:43my apologies.
- 17:44Cause this is when I was in
- 17:45like Sherlock Holmes mode
- 17:46and I'm looking through and
- 17:47I figured it out.
- 17:48And I wrote, sorry,
- 17:50not sure what I'm supposed to say.
- 17:52And he said, I was just apologizing.
- 17:54I feel bad.
- 17:54Back it up, back it up.
- 17:57A couple, maybe yesterday, day before,
- 18:00like I always try to ask
- 18:02guys when I'm talking to
- 18:03them and I haven't met them yet.
- 18:04Like,
- 18:04what are some of your red flags or
- 18:06what are you
- 18:06You know, what are your icks?
- 18:08Like,
- 18:08I feel like getting to that point
- 18:10over text is pretty easy
- 18:11because if someone says like, oh,
- 18:12I don't want a girl who
- 18:13lifts weights or I don't want a girl who,
- 18:17I don't know,
- 18:18loves dogs or I'm allergic
- 18:19to dogs or something,
- 18:20all that stuff like matters
- 18:22in the very beginning.
- 18:23So I said something about, you know,
- 18:28I made a joke like, oh,
- 18:29we might as well just hold
- 18:30our red flags until we meet.
- 18:31And he's like, no, no,
- 18:32let's talk about them now.
- 18:33So he said like,
- 18:34I can be stubborn and hardheaded.
- 18:35And I was like,
- 18:36that's not a red flag in my book,
- 18:37but whatever.
- 18:38He said, I'm extremely outgoing.
- 18:39And sometimes people can be
- 18:40intimidated by that.
- 18:41And I was, I said, I said, well,
- 18:44that's cool.
- 18:44Like I want to date an extrovert.
- 18:46You guys know, I've talked about that.
- 18:47Like I've never dated
- 18:48someone who's kind of outgoing.
- 18:50I've always dated guys that
- 18:51are sort of quiet and
- 18:52introverted and that does
- 18:53not work for me.
- 18:55So we went into this whole
- 18:58comment and I said, you know,
- 18:59what are some things you
- 19:00dislike in a partner?
- 19:01He wrote,
- 19:02I don't like a liar or
- 19:03someone who can't be loyal.
- 19:05I need someone who can hold
- 19:06their own and doesn't make me there.
- 19:07Didn't mean to be there at all times,
- 19:09if that makes sense.
- 19:09And I'm like, I got you.
- 19:10Like, that's fine.
- 19:11Honesty is one of my biggest, you know,
- 19:15criticalities for someone's personality.
- 19:17So anyway, back to, hold on.
- 19:20We're going to go to some comments.
- 19:22I love that my wife was like, right,
- 19:23Corey?
- 19:24Isn't that like so cool?
- 19:24I love it.
- 19:27All right.
- 19:28So here we go.
- 19:29I just wrote, I said,
- 19:30I'm stunned that someone
- 19:30that values honesty would
- 19:31just wouldn't just say they
- 19:33don't want to go out versus
- 19:34sending me a picture from
- 19:35twenty twenty four
- 19:36pretending to have a nail in his tire.
- 19:38My job.
- 19:39I was like, I got you.
- 19:41I should have called him
- 19:42because that would have
- 19:42been really fun to sort of
- 19:44get his like verbal reaction.
- 19:47But I didn't feel like
- 19:48dealing with him or even
- 19:49really talking to him at that point.
- 19:52I was going to leave it at that.
- 19:53But like he didn't respond.
- 19:54And that sort of annoyed me
- 19:55that I needed him to like
- 19:58I don't know,
- 19:58at least apologize or just
- 20:00like I needed to know that
- 20:01he got the message.
- 20:03Right.
- 20:03And so I said something.
- 20:04I said, you, sir,
- 20:05what's wrong with online dating?
- 20:06Thanks for validating that for me.
- 20:08Because like, come on.
- 20:11And his only response was,
- 20:13you will be fine.
- 20:16Yes,
- 20:17I will be fine and I am fine and I'm
- 20:19so much finer, not not, you know,
- 20:22wasting my Saturday night
- 20:24to go out with you.
- 20:25So.
- 20:26You're like, wow, Saturday night, blown.
- 20:28It's six thirty.
- 20:29I have nothing to do.
- 20:30I'm all dressed up.
- 20:32So you know what I do?
- 20:34And yes, Holly, isn't that crazy?
- 20:35All that effort for a ridiculous story.
- 20:37Either way looks bad.
- 20:38Either you're a liar or you
- 20:39can't solve basic problems.
- 20:41Oh, that's like a double negative,
- 20:43double negative.
- 20:45Hey, Corey says, what a douche canoe.
- 20:48Pretty much.
- 20:50So so what did I do?
- 20:52I decided to go to the place
- 20:54where we were supposed to meet anyway,
- 20:55because I was
- 20:56looking forward to it.
- 20:57And I already sort of had it
- 20:58in my mind that that's what
- 20:59we're going to do.
- 21:00There was supposed to be live music there.
- 21:02And I went and sat at the bar,
- 21:07maybe five minutes into me
- 21:08sitting at the bar,
- 21:09this older gentleman comes
- 21:11and sits next to me.
- 21:13We start chatting about soccer.
- 21:14We were watching a soccer game on TV,
- 21:17a football,
- 21:18an international football game.
- 21:22Um,
- 21:22he had just come from the Philadelphia
- 21:24union game, which is a,
- 21:25which is a team soccer team.
- 21:28I don't know.
- 21:29MLS major league soccer.
- 21:30Is that a thing?
- 21:31Anyway, he was drinking.
- 21:33I was drinking my diet Coke
- 21:34cause I was by myself and I'm like,
- 21:35I don't want to really drink.
- 21:36And I just kind of want to
- 21:37skip the vibe and see
- 21:38what's going on anyway.
- 21:39So he's sort of monopolizing
- 21:41all my time at the bar.
- 21:43Not somebody that I, you know,
- 21:44was going to be like dating or,
- 21:46or wanting other people to
- 21:48think I was dating.
- 21:48Cause again, we talked about.
- 21:50If you see a man and a woman
- 21:51sitting next to each other,
- 21:52you sort of make an
- 21:52assumption that they're together.
- 21:55And again,
- 21:55the whole point for me was to
- 21:57get out there and to like
- 21:58meet new people.
- 21:58And I met him.
- 22:00His name was Earl.
- 22:01Very nice guy.
- 22:03However,
- 22:04in comes this woman and these three guys.
- 22:07And they looked, you know,
- 22:09they look to be like maybe my age,
- 22:11maybe a little younger.
- 22:11And I heard them talking about banking,
- 22:14like Discover Bank or
- 22:15something like that.
- 22:16So I turned around and I
- 22:17talked to the girl and I said,
- 22:18how do you guys know each other?
- 22:20And she said, oh, this is my husband.
- 22:21This is my husband's boss.
- 22:22And this is the godfather of our children,
- 22:24blah, blah, blah.
- 22:25And I really got to stop saying blah, blah,
- 22:27blah.
- 22:27I don't like that.
- 22:30Anyway, they...
- 22:32We started chatting.
- 22:33I went to the restroom.
- 22:35I came back and I really
- 22:36wanted to go somewhere else
- 22:37because it turns out there
- 22:38was not live music at that place.
- 22:40There was like a live DJ and
- 22:42I really wanted to see some live music.
- 22:44And she told me that she was
- 22:45going they were going to
- 22:46take their boss to a bunch
- 22:48of places in that town
- 22:49because he had just moved there.
- 22:50And they were familiar with all the area,
- 22:53all the different local bars.
- 22:54And it's like this main
- 22:56street of just restaurants
- 22:57and bars the whole time.
- 22:59Um, so I'm gonna sneeze.
- 23:02I think maybe not.
- 23:06Should I lost it?
- 23:06Okay.
- 23:07Um, anyway,
- 23:09and I so I looked at her and I said,
- 23:10Can I please go with you?
- 23:12I just totally invited myself.
- 23:14And it was kind of like,
- 23:16it was kind of like girl
- 23:17code for she knew I was
- 23:20sitting next to this guy
- 23:21that clearly we weren't like a match.
- 23:24Um,
- 23:25and I kind of wanted to get away from him,
- 23:26not in a mean way,
- 23:28not in a like rape whistle way.
- 23:30I just,
- 23:31it was not how I wanted to spend my time.
- 23:33Um,
- 23:34so I thanked Earl for the conversation.
- 23:36I kindly got up and they
- 23:37took me to three other bars
- 23:39and we had a blast.
- 23:40I have her cell phone number
- 23:41and now we're friends.
- 23:43Her name is Jennifer.
- 23:44And she lives in a town
- 23:45pretty close to me.
- 23:46And, uh,
- 23:47there was like a little bit of
- 23:48chemistry between me and one of the guys,
- 23:50but he was like, way too young.
- 23:52Um, but we chatted a little bit.
- 23:54It was funny.
- 23:55I was talking to him and
- 23:56then he went to the
- 23:57bathroom and Jennifer comes
- 23:58up to me and she's like,
- 23:59so what do you think about so-and-so?
- 24:02And I, you know,
- 24:02and I just kind of giggled and I was like,
- 24:04he's a really nice guy.
- 24:04So I think he's too young for me.
- 24:06And she's like, oh,
- 24:07he's not too young for you.
- 24:08And then she told me he was and I was like,
- 24:09yeah, he probably is.
- 24:12Um, anyway, so that was my Saturday night.
- 24:16I thought it was pretty cool.
- 24:17Um, just
- 24:18crazy craziness about that
- 24:19dude with the with the flat
- 24:21tire thing that was kind of
- 24:22annoying um so sunday
- 24:26morning I got home I got
- 24:27home early like eleven
- 24:28o'clock maybe then just
- 24:29like went to bed um sunday
- 24:32I did a workout at my
- 24:33crossfit gym it was
- 24:34actually a hyrox workout it
- 24:37was two four six eight ten
- 24:39ascending ladder forty
- 24:41minutes um burpees no it
- 24:45didn't start with burpees
- 24:46You had to start with burpees,
- 24:48kettlebell swings,
- 24:49American kettlebell swings, and V-ups.
- 24:51And every four minutes, starting at zero,
- 24:53we ran a four hundred.
- 24:55So lots of running.
- 24:59Like I said, one hundred and ten burpees,
- 25:00one hundred ten kettlebell
- 25:01swings with this guy.
- 25:04And it was totally fine.
- 25:04I didn't even have to adjust
- 25:06my grip or make a fist on
- 25:07the ground or anything else.
- 25:08So I felt really good about that.
- 25:12What else did I do on Sunday?
- 25:13I went shopping.
- 25:14Oh,
- 25:14I took my mom out to dinner last night.
- 25:16We went to this place called
- 25:18Kid Chalene's.
- 25:18It's a little bar down the road.
- 25:20We sat at the bar.
- 25:22I was telling her all about
- 25:23my stories from the week.
- 25:24She, you know, thinks I'm crazy.
- 25:28What else?
- 25:29I told her that I wanted to
- 25:30do something on TikTok
- 25:31where she scrolls for me.
- 25:33Like she goes through some
- 25:34of my dating apps and just
- 25:35makes decisions on my behalf.
- 25:38And she thought that was really funny.
- 25:39So she's also getting...
- 25:42She's getting very,
- 25:44she used to be like super judgmental.
- 25:47Like she hated tattoos.
- 25:48She hated facial hair, all this stuff.
- 25:50And we walk into this bar
- 25:52last night and there's a
- 25:53guy sitting by himself eating a burger.
- 25:56Clearly he had just played a
- 25:57round of golf and very attractive.
- 26:00He had like a full beard, a hat on.
- 26:03like a tailor-made hat and
- 26:05like this vibrant tattoo sleeve.
- 26:07And I'm thinking my mom's
- 26:08going to look at him and be like,
- 26:09oh my God, he's so gross.
- 26:11Look at his hair.
- 26:11It looks, you know,
- 26:12unkempt and uneducated.
- 26:14And she's very judgy about
- 26:15that kind of stuff.
- 26:16And she actually said to me, she's like,
- 26:18that guy's attractive.
- 26:20And I was like, mom, what are you doing?
- 26:23So she's coming around or
- 26:25maybe she's just starting to deal with,
- 26:27you know, what my type is or whatever.
- 26:29But anyway,
- 26:30I thought that was really funny
- 26:31that she did that.
- 26:32Corey, what do you have to say here?
- 26:34This is a lot, buddy.
- 26:35Your problem, Kat,
- 26:36is that you don't look
- 26:36anywhere near thirty two.
- 26:37So new people you meet don't
- 26:39think that a guy who's thirty.
- 26:40Yeah, I mean, I guess so.
- 26:42I mean,
- 26:43he he might not have thought that either.
- 26:45But guess what?
- 26:45Like when we left that night,
- 26:48all four of us stood outside.
- 26:50No, one, two, three, four,
- 26:51all five of us stood
- 26:53outside the bar and I had
- 26:55like seven blocks to walk to my car.
- 26:57And they were all going sort
- 26:58of in the opposite direction.
- 26:59And I like gave everyone a
- 27:00hug and said like, so nice to meet you,
- 27:02whatever.
- 27:02Um, hi Jody.
- 27:05Um, no one offered to walk me to my car,
- 27:08which I was kind of annoyed.
- 27:09I would, I mean,
- 27:09I didn't need the guy that
- 27:10I thought was cute to walk me to the car,
- 27:12but even like the couple,
- 27:13if that were me and we
- 27:15picked up this single woman
- 27:17for the night and she had
- 27:18seven blocks to walk,
- 27:19I probably would have
- 27:21offered to drive her to her car,
- 27:22walk her to her car, whatever.
- 27:23But anyway, not a big deal.
- 27:25Um,
- 27:26But you're probably right.
- 27:28It's just funny because, again,
- 27:30the attention that I get
- 27:31when I'm out is mostly from older men.
- 27:35And I don't know if they're
- 27:35just like so damn confident
- 27:37and they don't give a shit or what.
- 27:42But yeah, Corey,
- 27:43I know you would have offered me to walk.
- 27:44And I've talked to other
- 27:46people and they said the same thing.
- 27:47So anyway.
- 27:48Um, so Sunday was good.
- 27:51We went out, like we did that.
- 27:52I kind of explained to her, you know,
- 27:54what I'm looking for and what I'm doing.
- 27:56And, you know, she's like my biggest fan.
- 27:58So that was really fun.
- 27:59She did not wear her hearing aids though.
- 28:01So it was kind of annoying
- 28:01because I had to repeat
- 28:02myself a million times and
- 28:04I felt like I was yelling
- 28:05and the whole bar could
- 28:06probably hear what I was talking about.
- 28:08Um, so that was kind of weird, but anyway,
- 28:11um, we did, we did talk a little bit.
- 28:13Um,
- 28:14then what happened then last night I
- 28:16spent like most of the
- 28:17evening actually talking to, um,
- 28:18a new guy that I matched
- 28:19with on Facebook dating.
- 28:21Um, we have a lot in common.
- 28:24Um, we just texted back and forth.
- 28:26We didn't talk on the phone,
- 28:27but we were up until like,
- 28:30like two thirty in the morning texting.
- 28:33I had to sort of call it
- 28:34because I was like, I was,
- 28:35I was super tired,
- 28:36but I was enjoying the conversation.
- 28:38Um, he needs to ask me out though.
- 28:40He has not asked me out yet.
- 28:41And, um,
- 28:43We're going to we're going
- 28:44to not make any moves until that happens,
- 28:45because like I've talked about,
- 28:47I need to meet people in
- 28:48person to see if there's
- 28:51like that chemistry spark
- 28:52physical attraction piece.
- 28:55And I don't like to get too
- 28:57attached to somebody over
- 28:58text before then,
- 29:00because then it makes it
- 29:00even harder or more
- 29:03complicated or complex when
- 29:04you do meet in person.
- 29:06I don't want the feelings to
- 29:10like be caught before we actually meet.
- 29:13because then I'm going to be
- 29:14really disappointed.
- 29:16Jody Lynn says, do not text anything.
- 29:19Oh, you wouldn't say on the phone.
- 29:20Yeah, no, I don't do that.
- 29:24We definitely didn't do
- 29:26anything like that.
- 29:27Heidi, my baby.
- 29:29Hi, I miss you.
- 29:31Heidi met a guy once and his
- 29:32voice was super high deal breaker.
- 29:33Yeah, that's true.
- 29:35The good thing, well, I mean, not for me.
- 29:37I have no idea what this
- 29:38guy's voice sounds like,
- 29:39but I sent him all the
- 29:41links to my YouTube shit
- 29:42because I figure...
- 29:43that person's going to find out anyway.
- 29:46Um,
- 29:46so I sent him my seven interview where
- 29:49it talks about me being on TRT.
- 29:51Um, and it talks about, you know,
- 29:52when I was married and have my gym.
- 29:55Um, and then, um,
- 29:58I sent him the Clydes or I
- 30:00sent him the dating,
- 30:01one of the dating episodes or whatever.
- 30:03So it kind of is helpful for guys.
- 30:05Cause I, you really get to feel,
- 30:07you get a feel for my
- 30:08personality and what I'm
- 30:09like on these videos.
- 30:13Uh,
- 30:14he said he was hot but I
- 30:16couldn't do it yeah I mean
- 30:18sometimes that's a
- 30:20definitely a deal breaker
- 30:21what does this mean judy
- 30:23jody obligatory mother's
- 30:25bag bag I don't know what
- 30:29that means trish your
- 30:31auntie yeah um the the
- 30:34smallest possible dose five
- 30:35units every five days
- 30:37Um, it's like barely, I had to get like,
- 30:40uh, half a milliliter vials or, um,
- 30:43syringes just to administer it.
- 30:45I just took it this morning, actually.
- 30:47Um, every five days,
- 30:48my levels are like hovering around to.
- 30:51I think something like that.
- 30:54Um, they were at,
- 30:55they had actually at one
- 30:56point been at a eight hundred,
- 30:59which is super scary.
- 31:01Um, but I swear to God,
- 31:02you guys have seen me
- 31:04through that eight hundred
- 31:05uh spike and the dip and I
- 31:07don't think you would have
- 31:08noticed like I didn't you
- 31:10know my voice didn't get
- 31:11any lower I didn't uh you
- 31:14know my body didn't change
- 31:15very much the only thing
- 31:15that the only thing that
- 31:16testosterone that I notice
- 31:18on my body is that like I
- 31:19have to shave my legs
- 31:20pretty much every day like
- 31:22my hair growth is a real
- 31:23thing um you know I get
- 31:25like a random hair like on
- 31:26my thigh that I've never
- 31:27had before which I can't
- 31:28stand um but my waxer is
- 31:30like my best friend
- 31:32But yes, I am on that.
- 31:33I feel like it balances out
- 31:36my hormones a lot.
- 31:37I don't have, oh, you're funny.
- 31:44I definitely don't have the
- 31:46kind of female problems
- 31:49that most women going
- 31:51through menopause go through.
- 31:53I'm trying to keep that PG,
- 31:55but I don't have those
- 31:57kinds of symptoms or issues.
- 31:59And before I went, I actually,
- 32:02it was funny.
- 32:03I went on TRT with
- 32:04California Hormones back
- 32:05when Sivan was working with me,
- 32:09or I was working with them.
- 32:10And I think I was taking too much.
- 32:13And that's when my levels
- 32:15got kind of high.
- 32:16And I sort of, instead of, I panicked.
- 32:18Instead of like just reducing my dosage,
- 32:22I just went off of it cold turkey.
- 32:23And let me tell you,
- 32:24when you go off of that shit cold turkey,
- 32:26not fun.
- 32:28I started developing the worst hot flashes,
- 32:30the worst menopause symptoms,
- 32:32not the not like the female part stuff,
- 32:36but the hot flashes were like real.
- 32:38I was getting like I was
- 32:38getting them like every twenty minutes,
- 32:40like full flop sweat, hot flashes.
- 32:44And I definitely think that
- 32:45stopping that testosterone
- 32:47caused part of that.
- 32:48But I went on.
- 32:49I'm taking estrogen and
- 32:50progesterone from my OBGYN
- 32:52and I'm taking testosterone
- 32:53kind of on my own.
- 32:55Um,
- 32:55I buy it online and I administer it
- 32:57myself and my primary care
- 33:00doctor knows that I'm on it
- 33:01and she's very good at
- 33:03monitoring my blood.
- 33:04So, you know, she can't prescribe it.
- 33:06She can't give it to me.
- 33:08Um,
- 33:09but she's very supportive of it and she
- 33:11sees, you know,
- 33:12how I'm feeling on it and how I'm looking,
- 33:14uh, and behaving.
- 33:15And she says, you know, more power to you.
- 33:18So, um, CrossFit wants to know,
- 33:20did I get super jacked at a hundred?
- 33:22No, I wasn't.
- 33:24I didn't notice anything.
- 33:25Like I said,
- 33:26you guys have seen me through
- 33:28this whole journey.
- 33:29I mean, I started it, gosh,
- 33:31almost three years ago,
- 33:32maybe two and a half years ago,
- 33:33back right around the time
- 33:35when I did my interview with Sevan.
- 33:36And I don't remember when that was exactly,
- 33:38but it was probably two years ago.
- 33:42I started like two and a half years ago.
- 33:44How do you find online?
- 33:46Trish,
- 33:46if you want to send me a DM on Instagram,
- 33:48I can give you the link.
- 33:50My son hooked me up with a place.
- 33:54where you can get it.
- 33:55It's different than the
- 33:57place where I got my
- 33:57peptides for my elbow,
- 33:58which I'm also still taking.
- 34:01And I take those every day,
- 34:03but I have a vial.
- 34:04It probably costs me maybe
- 34:06two hundred and fifty
- 34:06dollars and I've had it for
- 34:08almost a year because I
- 34:09take so little of it.
- 34:11Really, it's not it's not a lot.
- 34:14And Trisha, some states don't allow it.
- 34:16Well,
- 34:17I can order it for you and then I can
- 34:19send it to you if you need
- 34:20if you need me to for a small fee.
- 34:24I'm going to start my own, uh,
- 34:26my own TRT clinic here in a minute,
- 34:27but yeah, um, I do buy it online and it's,
- 34:31you know, I think it's, you know,
- 34:32one of those places where they say like,
- 34:34it's for research only.
- 34:34It's probably not, um,
- 34:37sanctioned by anybody, but, um,
- 34:42you think PCPs can, yeah,
- 34:44I think they can too,
- 34:45but you have to be like clinically low,
- 34:48like at zero.
- 34:49And for guys you have to be
- 34:50under two hundred and like,
- 34:52know if a guy's at five
- 34:53hundred and he feels like
- 34:54crap um and he's having a
- 34:56hard time you know building
- 34:57muscle mass and he's over
- 34:58fifty and he's starting to
- 34:59look like a female um what
- 35:03are you gonna do like your
- 35:04doctor's not gonna give it
- 35:04to you um and and a lot of
- 35:07the doctors that do they
- 35:08give you like pellets or
- 35:09they give you cream and all
- 35:10that stuff and like
- 35:11injecting is really the
- 35:12only way to go because you
- 35:13can really control the
- 35:14dosages and dial it up and
- 35:16down you get that pellet
- 35:17and it's like in your body
- 35:18for a period of time until
- 35:20it dissolves and the creams
- 35:21don't really work
- 35:23So, you know, I'm not a doctor,
- 35:26but I know what works for me.
- 35:27And I've had experience with
- 35:29other people that are close
- 35:30to me that have done it and
- 35:31have had great results.
- 35:35I wouldn't hesitate to do it.
- 35:36You just have to have like a
- 35:37primary care doctor who
- 35:41really is understanding and is willing to,
- 35:43you know,
- 35:43write your script for that blood
- 35:44work probably every six
- 35:45months just to make sure
- 35:46that some of your other
- 35:47levels aren't out of whack.
- 35:49You know,
- 35:49you shouldn't have high blood pressure.
- 35:50You shouldn't have sleep apnea.
- 35:51You shouldn't have a heart condition.
- 35:53Um, you have to kind of be, um, you know,
- 35:56fairly, fairly healthy.
- 35:58Otherwise CrossFit says,
- 35:59I guess I can cancel my
- 36:00natty or not bid for cat.
- 36:01Yeah.
- 36:02I mean, if that's what you want to call it,
- 36:04I mean, if I got, if,
- 36:06if I was in a competition
- 36:07where they tested my testosterone levels,
- 36:08I wouldn't fail the test in
- 36:11terms of my levels, just because they're,
- 36:14they're within the normal
- 36:15ranges or maybe like slightly above,
- 36:17but I'm not going to the CrossFit game.
- 36:19So you don't have to worry about that.
- 36:22Um,
- 36:23And yeah, like I said, I mean,
- 36:24it's probably helped me
- 36:25keep my muscle mass over
- 36:27the years when I have gone
- 36:29through some peaks and valleys,
- 36:31mostly valleys of not
- 36:32working out because I'm
- 36:33busy with the gym or I got
- 36:35injured and things like that.
- 36:41Yeah, Andrew,
- 36:42I highly recommend just getting,
- 36:43you want to get a couple of things.
- 36:45You want to get your testosterone.
- 36:46You want to get your free testosterone.
- 36:49Sometimes that's a
- 36:49calculation and you need to get your
- 36:52Um, it's like a four letter, um,
- 36:56acronym and it's like the
- 36:59sexual hormone globulin,
- 37:02something or other.
- 37:05Um, I'll,
- 37:06I'll look that up and let you
- 37:07know what that is,
- 37:08but those are sort of the
- 37:10things you need to look at.
- 37:10You also need to look at
- 37:11your red blood cell count
- 37:13and your hematocrit.
- 37:16Um, yes.
- 37:17Thank you, Trish.
- 37:21Sexual hormone binding
- 37:22globulin is what it's called.
- 37:24S H B G. Sex hormone binding globulin.
- 37:27Yep.
- 37:29CrossFit's got it too.
- 37:30Yeah.
- 37:30That helps to calculate that
- 37:31free testosterone because
- 37:33my free testosterone is
- 37:35completely normal for a female.
- 37:36So it's kind of like when you eat food,
- 37:39like I'm one hundred and
- 37:41forty pounds and I could
- 37:44eat a candy bar and my body could absorb,
- 37:47you know,
- 37:47three hundred calories of that candy bar.
- 37:50could have another person
- 37:51who also weighs a hundred
- 37:51and forty pounds eat the
- 37:52same snickers bar and their
- 37:54body might consume or might
- 37:55absorb you know x number of
- 37:58calories like calories are
- 37:59is just a generalization of
- 38:02what your body needs to
- 38:03expend to to digest that
- 38:05food um and it's very you
- 38:08know it varies person to
- 38:09person there's really no
- 38:10it's it's all sort of not
- 38:12an exact science um and I
- 38:14feel like that's the same
- 38:15thing with testosterone
- 38:15like guys could have
- 38:17A twelve hundred testosterone level,
- 38:19which you think, oh, my gosh,
- 38:21like holy balls, that's crazy.
- 38:23But.
- 38:25But if they're free,
- 38:27testosterone is like within
- 38:28normal range or even lower
- 38:29than normal range,
- 38:30then that's what's like
- 38:31bioavailable and in your
- 38:33body that is able to be
- 38:34used in a sort of.
- 38:37What's the word?
- 38:38It's not manifesting.
- 38:39It's like what's existing,
- 38:41what's like available to you,
- 38:43bioavailable.
- 38:44And so it's not a perfect science.
- 38:47And it's, you know,
- 38:47you can't just look at one thing.
- 38:48And I think primary care
- 38:49doctors will give you a test.
- 38:51They'll look at your overall
- 38:52testosterone levels and be like, oh,
- 38:53you're within the, you know,
- 38:55the limits that insurance
- 38:57covers or whatever.
- 38:58And that's that.
- 39:01What are you saying here?
- 39:02And CrossFit cat thinks a
- 39:03thirty eight year old dude.
- 39:04Just wants to bang,
- 39:05doesn't want to be serious with her.
- 39:07Oh,
- 39:07someone asking me why I won't go out
- 39:09with a thirty eight year old.
- 39:11I mean, there's other reasons, too.
- 39:12I just think like I've
- 39:14experienced a lot more life
- 39:15than a thirty eight year old,
- 39:16and I think it would have
- 39:18to be a very mature thirty
- 39:19eight year old.
- 39:20It would have to be someone
- 39:21whose kids are maybe a
- 39:22little bit older than your
- 39:24average thirty eight year old.
- 39:29What else?
- 39:30Yeah,
- 39:31they can't be just after me for one thing,
- 39:33obviously,
- 39:33because that's not what I'm
- 39:34around here for.
- 39:39Yeah, those levels are also important.
- 39:41I don't understand them as much for men.
- 39:43I know for women, that's a thing.
- 39:47If you want to juice your numbers down,
- 39:48drink and sleep terribly
- 39:49the night before.
- 39:50I actually, the last time I did get tested,
- 39:52it was like a day after I
- 39:54had taken my microdose.
- 39:56So I'm pretty sure that I'm
- 39:58in a good spot right now.
- 39:59And I know when I got the
- 40:00eight hundred level or whatever it was,
- 40:02my doctor called me right
- 40:03away and she's like, oh,
- 40:04we need to do something.
- 40:05And I immediately I think I
- 40:07was doing I was doing five units,
- 40:10maybe every.
- 40:12Maybe twice a week,
- 40:13maybe even like every three
- 40:15days and just kind of doing that,
- 40:17so I went to like every four days.
- 40:20and never got tested.
- 40:21And then I just balanced out
- 40:22at every five days.
- 40:23I thought that would, you know,
- 40:24less is more.
- 40:25And so, um,
- 40:27that's kind of my sweet spot right now.
- 40:28And I'll, I'll,
- 40:29I just got it checked maybe a month ago.
- 40:33Um,
- 40:33so I'll get it checked again in another
- 40:34six months and make sure
- 40:35that that's the right dosage for me.
- 40:36But so far it's been,
- 40:37it's been really good.
- 40:38No complaints whatsoever.
- 40:41Um, yeah.
- 40:42And here's my theory on that.
- 40:43I feel like, and again, not a doctor, just,
- 40:46just like to think about things.
- 40:48I feel like we were meant to
- 40:52live like four years, forty, fifty years.
- 40:56And modern medicine,
- 40:58thanks to modern medicine,
- 40:59we're living longer lives because,
- 41:01you know, don't come after me on vaccines,
- 41:03but, you know, we have vaccines, we have,
- 41:05you know, antibiotics that can, you know,
- 41:07we don't die from pneumonia anymore.
- 41:09We don't die from viruses.
- 41:11We have medicines that can
- 41:12can fix that for us.
- 41:13So our lifespan.
- 41:14has increased because of modern medicine,
- 41:17which is great.
- 41:17And because, you know,
- 41:18our healthy lifestyles or whatever,
- 41:20but your body,
- 41:21like the biology in your body,
- 41:23you probably were only
- 41:24meant to live to be forty or fifty.
- 41:27And that evolution of what
- 41:29your body can produce and do, I think,
- 41:31takes a lot longer than, you know,
- 41:33the thousands and thousands
- 41:34of years that we've been
- 41:35around tracking this kind of stuff.
- 41:39So what I think is
- 41:42your hormones, you know,
- 41:44that your body's producing
- 41:46stop around that forty to fifty mark,
- 41:48because that's all it was
- 41:50ever engineered to cover in
- 41:52terms of lifespan.
- 41:54And so we need to go in and reproduce it.
- 41:58And if it means you have to reproduce it,
- 42:00you know, synthetically or even naturally,
- 42:03but just we have to add
- 42:05things to our bodies to make it
- 42:07like that so that we sort of
- 42:08maintain that vitality now
- 42:09it doesn't mean that we
- 42:10should be having babies
- 42:11later and I'm not like I
- 42:12don't need to grow eggs
- 42:13again or anything like that
- 42:15um but yeah that's kind of
- 42:18a thing hold on wait I want
- 42:20to go back to this aaron my
- 42:21natural t is total t number
- 42:26isn't everything exactly
- 42:27like your free is probably
- 42:28kind of low and then
- 42:29there's things that you can
- 42:30do to dial down some of
- 42:31those different numbers um
- 42:33to get you in a spot where
- 42:34you're in a better place
- 42:36No wonder those useful
- 42:37levels are attracting.
- 42:40Yeah.
- 42:42But I'm a huge fan of it.
- 42:43And like I said,
- 42:44I just think it's because
- 42:45we weren't meant to live as
- 42:46long as we did.
- 42:47And if everyone were like to
- 42:48get on the bandwagon of
- 42:50hormone replacement,
- 42:51where it's safe again,
- 42:52because I know you hear
- 42:53about things like people have, you know,
- 42:56certain cancers that are
- 42:58hormone sensitive or things like that.
- 43:00You probably, you know,
- 43:01maybe want to talk to someone about that,
- 43:03but I don't know.
- 43:04I'm just rolling the dice.
- 43:05This is how I want to live.
- 43:06This is what I'm doing.
- 43:09Sorry.
- 43:10Yeah.
- 43:10People are dying of cancer or COVID.
- 43:17Any life over thirty five is a win.
- 43:19Seriously,
- 43:20like go back to whatever days
- 43:22we're talking about.
- 43:23And people did not live this long, guys,
- 43:25at all.
- 43:25We were not meant to do so.
- 43:27Anyway,
- 43:30That's all I had, guys.
- 43:32I head to Connecticut tomorrow.
- 43:33I'll be there Tuesday, Wednesday,
- 43:34Thursday.
- 43:37I'm really hoping that this
- 43:38guy that I'm talking to asks me out.
- 43:41What else?
- 43:42I band practice tonight.
- 43:44Band rehearsal.
- 43:44I'm calling it practice.
- 43:45It should be rehearsal.
- 43:46It's band rehearsal.
- 43:48I think I get my tambourine tonight.
- 43:50Tim forgot it last week.
- 43:51I was very disappointed.
- 43:53So...
- 43:55We'll see.
- 43:57Yeah.
- 43:57Just don't get steroid voice.
- 44:00I mean,
- 44:01the funny thing is my voice is
- 44:02already really low anyway.
- 44:05So I'm hoping it's not like,
- 44:06I hope it doesn't sound too manly,
- 44:08but I've gotten that feedback.
- 44:09I've posted,
- 44:11I post TikTok videos and
- 44:13there's so many guys in it.
- 44:14They're like, you,
- 44:15you kind of sound like a
- 44:16drill sergeant or you seem
- 44:18really masculine or really, you know, not,
- 44:21not feminine or like a mom
- 44:23or something like that.
- 44:24And I think that's
- 44:25more like my coaching voice.
- 44:28And again,
- 44:29I'm working on all that to sound
- 44:31a little softer and look a little softer.
- 44:32But Jodi, I'm going to Stanford,
- 44:35Connecticut.
- 44:36I actually,
- 44:37I did have really good pizza
- 44:38last time I was there.
- 44:41I forget where we were,
- 44:42but it was like a famous
- 44:43pizza place and it was delicious.
- 44:45Hold on.
- 44:49People still want to talk about this.
- 44:51Maybe you think I need to
- 44:52get onto your tube and not yet.
- 44:54I still do okay when I'm consistent.
- 44:57Yeah, I mean, eleven fifty is great.
- 44:59You know,
- 44:59most guys that are going on it
- 45:00are more like in like the five hundred,
- 45:03six hundred, four hundred range.
- 45:08Do I feel like it makes you
- 45:09better at work?
- 45:09No, I have total ADHD.
- 45:11It doesn't help with my ADHD whatsoever.
- 45:14And because I work from home,
- 45:16that's really tough for me.
- 45:18I mean,
- 45:18I get things done when I need to
- 45:20get them done, but
- 45:21Um,
- 45:22I could definitely focus a little more
- 45:23now brain fog.
- 45:24It helps with brain fog for sure.
- 45:26I've noticed a big difference there.
- 45:28Um, yeah, Jody, let me know.
- 45:31Hook me up.
- 45:32We went to, I think that's where we went.
- 45:33I think we went to Sally's.
- 45:35Um, cause you remember you guys,
- 45:37I talked to you about that
- 45:38CrossFit gym I went to too.
- 45:39I forget what it was called, but, um,
- 45:41that was like right on the
- 45:42main drag there in Stanford
- 45:44where Sally's is.
- 45:50Concert is this huge radiation.
- 45:51Yeah.
- 45:51I don't,
- 45:52I don't know that I want to take it.
- 45:53My daughter has ADHD too.
- 45:55And she took medicine when
- 45:57she was like maybe in
- 45:58junior in high school,
- 45:59she's in college now.
- 46:00And she took it for like
- 46:01half a year and she hated it.
- 46:03She said it made her like a zombie.
- 46:04She hated the way it made me feel.
- 46:07Um,
- 46:07it's actually given her like some
- 46:08anxiety about medicines before.
- 46:09Now I don't, I'll take meds all day long.
- 46:13Um,
- 46:17Jay Burch, never had it tested.
- 46:19I am fifty six.
- 46:20Yeah.
- 46:20I mean,
- 46:20if your doctor is willing to test it,
- 46:22you should you should do it.
- 46:25Not me, the guy there, I'm betting.
- 46:28I mean, you don't know until you know.
- 46:31So so do that.
- 46:33I have heard that the new meds are better.
- 46:35I don't I don't find that my ADHD is.
- 46:37Well, first of all,
- 46:38it's never been diagnosed,
- 46:39although I mentioned to my
- 46:41therapist last Friday we
- 46:42were talking about my daughter.
- 46:44And I made like a funny comment, like,
- 46:46you know, she probably gets that from me.
- 46:48And my therapist just kind
- 46:49of like did one of these.
- 46:51She didn't say anything,
- 46:52but she kind of validated it for me.
- 46:54I'm like, oh, shit.
- 46:55Is that me?
- 46:56Do I have it?
- 46:57Probably.
- 47:00But it hasn't.
- 47:01It's part of my charming personality.
- 47:02It's not I don't think it's
- 47:03a bad thing right now.
- 47:05Am I going to share new pictures today?
- 47:07So I don't have my extra screen set up.
- 47:09If you guys don't mind
- 47:12hanging out for a second, I can.
- 47:14Let's see.
- 47:15I can hook up this monitor.
- 47:17Oh, I don't know.
- 47:21Are we doing what kind of
- 47:22new pictures are you wanting to see?
- 47:24Are we wanting to look at
- 47:25dating profile pictures?
- 47:27Because I don't really have many of those.
- 47:29Oh, no, it happened.
- 47:33Okay, there I am.
- 47:35Or are we talking about... Wait, wait,
- 47:38wait.
- 47:38I don't know how this is gonna work.
- 47:39Shit.
- 47:42I have to go around here to
- 47:42look what I'm doing.
- 47:44Do you wanna look at... I can't see.
- 47:48Hold on.
- 47:48Where's my mouse?
- 47:56Oh, there it is.
- 47:58Lots of them,
- 47:58I get told they have anxiety.
- 47:59Do you want feet pics?
- 48:06Tell me what, Jason,
- 48:06tell me what kind of
- 48:07pictures you want to look at.
- 48:11What I can do, see if I move this camera.
- 48:14We'll do it anyway.
- 48:16Now you guys are going to
- 48:17see the other side of my apartment.
- 48:19All right, don't go crazy.
- 48:27I'm going to share.
- 48:29This is so unprofessional.
- 48:30Usually I have my other camera on.
- 48:35I think we can do image file.
- 48:40And we'll go photos.
- 48:44I don't know what you guys want to see.
- 48:47I will show you the picture
- 48:48of me pregnant because it's hysterical.
- 48:52You're going to die.
- 48:54We showed short hair pictures before,
- 48:56right?
- 48:57Dude, look at this.
- 48:59Look at that.
- 49:00I'm going to sit over here.
- 49:01You're not going to be able
- 49:01to see me for a second.
- 49:03That is your girl.
- 49:05Thirty-six weeks pregnant with my son,
- 49:07Braden.
- 49:08I mean, seriously.
- 49:10First of all,
- 49:10can we have a moment for the red kitchen?
- 49:18And yes,
- 49:18I don't feel bad for sharing this.
- 49:20My nose was fat, guys.
- 49:21That's what my lovely mom told me,
- 49:23that your nose was fat.
- 49:25I was so big.
- 49:27And I don't know if you can see right here,
- 49:29fun fact,
- 49:30I had a mole inside of my navel.
- 49:36like inside my belly button.
- 49:37And I had to go get it surgically removed.
- 49:42I got it done.
- 49:45like two,
- 49:46maybe a week before I gave birth
- 49:49because it was out there
- 49:50and they wanted to do it.
- 49:50So I went to the surgical center.
- 49:51They, they took my weight down.
- 49:54Obviously it was like almost
- 49:55two hundred pounds and they
- 49:56took out the mole and I left and they had,
- 49:58I had like a stereo strip on my belly.
- 49:59It was the most painful
- 50:01recovery ever because my
- 50:02skin was so stretched.
- 50:05Um,
- 50:06and I had stitches and everything else.
- 50:08Seven days later I gave
- 50:09birth to Braden and I had a
- 50:10C emergency C-section.
- 50:12Um,
- 50:13I go into recovery.
- 50:15He's in the NICU.
- 50:16It was like a horrible birth story.
- 50:17His APGAR score was like one.
- 50:19He was blue, not breathing.
- 50:21And I go into recovery with
- 50:23no baby and this like
- 50:24deflated belly and this
- 50:25dairy strip on my belly.
- 50:27And the nurse comes in and she's like, oh,
- 50:28you got your tubes tied.
- 50:30And I was like, what?
- 50:33No, I just had a baby.
- 50:34Like it freaked me out.
- 50:35The fact that I couldn't get
- 50:37pregnant right away after
- 50:38Brayden was born,
- 50:39I was convinced they
- 50:40accidentally tied my tubes that day.
- 50:43Um, but anyway, maybe two weeks later,
- 50:46I got a call back from the
- 50:47dermatologist that it was
- 50:49suspicious for like
- 50:50pre-cancer cells and they
- 50:51didn't get all the margins.
- 50:52So they had to go back in and do it again.
- 50:54And I went back to the
- 50:56surgical center and they
- 50:59had to like check my ID.
- 51:00They were so confused
- 51:01because I weighed like
- 51:02forty five pounds less than
- 51:03I did two weeks prior.
- 51:05And they weren't sure I was
- 51:06like the same person
- 51:07because I didn't look the same.
- 51:09It was really kind of funny.
- 51:10But yeah, that was my that's my fun.
- 51:13My fun story.
- 51:14All right.
- 51:17How do we do this?
- 51:22Okay.
- 51:22All right.
- 51:22We're back.
- 51:22I'm going to unplug this
- 51:23monitor too because it
- 51:24really screws me up.
- 51:24I'm sorry, guys.
- 51:25I will do better next time.
- 51:26This was like a last minute thing.
- 51:29I talked to Scott.
- 51:31I talked to Scott and he was like,
- 51:33I'm not going on camera
- 51:35today because he's on an airplane.
- 51:36And so I decided to do this for us today.
- 51:39What do we got here?
- 51:44What is that?
- 51:44That's a lot of signs for a new hospital.
- 51:46I don't know what that means.
- 51:49Yes, JB.
- 51:51Pregnancy nose.
- 51:52I had it.
- 51:52It was so fat.
- 51:54And you know what's funny?
- 51:55I'm so self-conscious about
- 51:56my nose anyway.
- 51:57Ever since I was a kid,
- 51:58I wanted a nose job so bad.
- 52:02This bone right here that forms your nose,
- 52:05this bone on my body is flat.
- 52:09You could land a penny on it.
- 52:10It's so flat.
- 52:11And so it shapes the rest of my nose.
- 52:13And I'm Italian, right?
- 52:13I've got this like broad
- 52:15Italian ethnic nose,
- 52:18but it also like turns down
- 52:19because my mom has like a Roman nose.
- 52:22She's not Italian,
- 52:24but she's got this like
- 52:25thin English nose that sort
- 52:27of points down.
- 52:27So it's wide and it points down.
- 52:29And I used to sit in front
- 52:30of the mirror when I was a
- 52:31kid and I would just go like this.
- 52:33I'll be like, oh my gosh,
- 52:35I just want it like up just
- 52:37a little bit and like a
- 52:38little bit narrower.
- 52:39And I would put, I still do this.
- 52:41I put like contour and all
- 52:42kinds of stuff on my nose
- 52:43because I'm super
- 52:43self-conscious about my nose.
- 52:46So yeah, that was not fun.
- 52:49But yeah, I'll do better next time, guys.
- 52:50This will be two weeks, right?
- 52:52So not this week, not this Wednesday,
- 52:53next Wednesday, um, five PM.
- 52:56I should be around.
- 52:57Hopefully I'll have some
- 52:58more stories for you.
- 52:59I'm hoping again,
- 53:00the goal is to not be
- 53:01talking about dating, right?
- 53:03That is the goal of this
- 53:04podcast eventually.
- 53:06And we have obviously other
- 53:07things to talk about like CrossFit and,
- 53:09you know, parenthood and relationships,
- 53:12hormone replacement therapy
- 53:13and all that good stuff.
- 53:15So I want to thank you guys for joining.
- 53:17We're almost at the hour.
- 53:19I do have to go back to work.
- 53:20I'm sorry I didn't throw a dart.
- 53:21I'm not going to tell you
- 53:22hooligans to get back to work.
- 53:25That is Scott's deal.
- 53:26But I love you and reach out anytime.
- 53:29All right.
- 53:30Take care, guys.
- 53:31Have a great, great Monday.
