- 0:39Will Walden In on today's episode, we're going to be
- 0:42talking about some interesting things that SpaceX is up to as
- 0:47far as space tourism goes. Just recently, SpaceX released
- 0:51some new information on their website about the way that
- 0:54people can book a flight to low Earth orbit in a Dragon capsule
- 1:00and Jared Isaacman and his crew for the new Eva that's going to
- 1:06be happening. It's going to be an interesting
- 1:10few months when this all happens.
- 1:13OK, so let's talk about what Jared's going to be doing.
- 1:16They're going to be doing what is considered an Eva for the for
- 1:21the next human spaceflight. It's basically like a booked
- 1:24flight, like a like a plane flight, like a you book an
- 1:28airliner flight, but you book it to space, right?
- 1:31So Jared spent a bunch of money, millions of dollars prepping his
- 1:36team and also prepping the the Dragon capsule.
- 1:42And SpaceX and him are working very closely together.
- 1:44And this is a bigger thing here with Jared.
- 1:47OK, so Jared runs a very successful flight training
- 1:51school. He trains fighter pilots,
- 1:53basically like jet pilots. And I believe this is the next
- 1:57step for his business is that he'll start training people to
- 2:01go to space so he could own that part of spaceflight.
- 2:05That's what you want to do as a business owner.
- 2:07You want to own certain parts, be the first person or the first
- 2:11entity, the first business to do this.
- 2:13And the only way you can do that as a partner with somebody like
- 2:16SpaceX who sends people to space in a rocket.
- 2:20Now with Jared and his crew for the next flights, they're going
- 2:25to be doing an Eva. They have an Eva suit that they
- 2:28worked with SpaceX on for the last year or so.
- 2:33Couple years on this suit. I don't know how long SpaceX has
- 2:36been actually working on this, but I'm sure it's been a long
- 2:38time internally. But Jared and SpaceX have been
- 2:42working really closely together over the last year to bring this
- 2:47thing to fruition and make it feasible for their next flight.
- 2:52So they're gonna be doing an Eva, basically.
- 2:53It's not the same as an old school Eva, You know, like say
- 2:57like the shuttle or outside the ISS, they're gonna be tethered
- 3:03inside of the the Dragon capsule.
- 3:06Everyone's going to be exposed to the vacuum of space.
- 3:09There's gonna be 4 participants in this, so everybody inside the
- 3:12capsule will be exposed to the darkness and the vacuum of
- 3:19space. So it's going to be absolutely
- 3:21dangerous, absolutely terrifying.
- 3:24But you're tethered and you're not going to float out of the
- 3:26capsule. But you need a suit that can
- 3:30withstand those harsh environments.
- 3:32So the within the tether they have life support systems in
- 3:38everything. They need to survive while this
- 3:40is happening. Unlike when you're outside of
- 3:44the International Space Station Space Station, you have this big
- 3:47bulky backpack on. There's no room for that in a
- 3:49Dragon capsule, right? There will be room for that in a
- 3:52Starship. There will be room for that in a
- 3:54Starship, but right now they're tethered and umbilicaled in so
- 3:59they're umbilical. Can use all your life support.
- 4:01If you need to go outside of the capsule, you could do that.
- 4:03We don't know if they're going to be doing any sort of outside
- 4:07capsule maneuvers. We were shown in the press
- 4:10conference the other day that they were thinking about it and
- 4:14they don't know exactly the duration of that, of that extra
- 4:19vehicular activity. So that's what Eva stands for by
- 4:22the way, is extra vehicular activity.
- 4:25Now they said that the Eva could be a a long duration Eva for the
- 4:32first flight and we don't really know if that's going to happen
- 4:35because it's the first flight, it's a test flight.
- 4:37These four people that are going up, it's a test flight and it
- 4:41could stop in 10 minutes depending on what's going on.
- 4:45You know, there could be some sort of problem where the Eva
- 4:49starts and they find an issue and they all have to, they have
- 4:52to stop it and they have to come back in the capsule.
- 4:55They have to close the capsule up and go back to normal mission
- 5:02directives, right. And that's OK.
- 5:04Like that's that's going to happen sometimes.
- 5:07And Space Flight and like new technologies.
- 5:09And Spacex's space suit is basically all new technologies.
- 5:13And it looks pretty similar to their old space suit.
- 5:16It's a little bit, a little bit thicker.
- 5:19It looks like a little bit thicker.
- 5:20But you too can book a flight to low Earth orbit.
- 5:27Your mission duration is usually three to six days.
- 5:30You orbit around the Earth every 90 minutes, which is beautiful.
- 5:33You're about 300 to 500 kilometers above the Earth
- 5:37anywhere between 2:00 and 4:00 passengers.
- 5:39So you can have you and three buddies go up.
- 5:41You can have a cupola this. So you're not going to be doing
- 5:43an Eva but there's going to be a cupola which is a giant window
- 5:47on the on the spacecraft. So you could float upside down.
- 5:51I there's no upside down. The space every everything's
- 5:54upside down I guess. But you could be flying looking
- 5:58at the earth in every 90 minutes you go around the earth.
- 6:01You could orbit the Earth in 90 minutes.
- 6:03That would be wonderful and beautiful.
- 6:05It's going to cost a couple 1,000,000 bucks per person, you
- 6:08know, 10,000,010 to 20 million per person, something like that.
- 6:12And then, you know, hopefully it'll be a a wonderful
- 6:19experience for you for, you know, three days you get trained
- 6:22by everybody at SpaceX. And hopefully Jared in the
- 6:25future and his crew and his company will start doing Space
- 6:29Flight operations so they can train the people that do the
- 6:33SpaceX flights, 'cause SpaceX doesn't currently have a lot of
- 6:39Space Flight training personnel, 'cause they go to the
- 6:42International Space Station. And those astronauts are NASA
- 6:45astronauts mainly or Axiom Space astronauts, something like that.
- 6:49But most of those people are trained via NASA or some
- 6:53government body, Axiom Space, They do a kind of a combination
- 6:56of both. So it looks like Jared is
- 6:59getting into the business of Space Flight, which is
- 7:03incredible because he's already in it.
- 7:05Which is, Which is, you know, saying that, saying a lot for
- 7:11this guy because he did Inspiration 4.
- 7:15He's he was the captain of the Crew Dragon Resilience and it
- 7:21launched from Kennedy Space Center for Inspiration Four.
- 7:23They spent a bunch of time up there and they have the Polaris
- 7:27Dawn program coming up. That's what I was talking about
- 7:29before the Polaris Dawn program, where they're going to be doing
- 7:32Eva, but we're not sure how far out they're going to be doing
- 7:34the Eva. They're going to be launching
- 7:37this from Florida and the Polaris Dawn crew will spend up
- 7:40to five days in orbit, during which they will work towards the
- 7:43following objectives, high altitude.
- 7:45They're going to go higher than anybody else has ever flown.
- 7:49They're going to be orbiting through portions of the Van
- 7:51Ellen radiation belt. So checkmate against the people
- 7:59that are flat Earthers or the people that say, oh, we've never
- 8:01been through the Van Allen radiation belt, whatever.
- 8:03Like this is going to prove them wrong, which is great, which is
- 8:06great. We should probably prove all
- 8:07those people wrong. And they're going to be doing
- 8:11700 kilometers above the Earth. They're going to be doing an
- 8:14Eva, the first ever commercial extra vehicular activity,
- 8:18upgraded from the current IVA suit.
- 8:20They have a new Eva suit, and this is all building to people
- 8:25going to the moon and also going to Mars and then farther out in
- 8:29the solar system eventually. Right now, we don't really have
- 8:32the technology to get there fast enough.
- 8:34It's gonna take a while to get to the outer solar system.
- 8:36So when they do this low Earth orbit stuff, they're only up
- 8:41there for a few days. If you have the outer solar
- 8:44system, you're gonna be in space for a year to get to some of
- 8:50these places or or more even when you go to when you go to
- 8:53Mars. It's a long trip.
- 8:55You know, you're not going to be there.
- 8:57It's not going to take a week to get there.
- 8:58It's going to take months to get there.
- 9:01And can you survive, you know, the radiation, leaving the
- 9:07Earth's atmosphere, all that and do Evas because the only way to
- 9:11service Starship on the way to Mars or further is to do an Eva.
- 9:16And this is the first Test of these Eva suits for Jared and
- 9:19the crew. So they're going to be up there
- 9:21700 kilometers doing an Eva and they're going to be using these
- 9:26Eva suits probably on the way to the moon.
- 9:29If it's a private Starship flight, they're probably going
- 9:32to be using these suits and they're going to transfer from
- 9:36the regular IVA suits to only these Eva suits.
- 9:39So they'll have one suit that does everything.
- 9:41So the best part is no part, right?
- 9:43So you get rid, ditch the old technology, move forward and use
- 9:47the new technology to better Space Flight.
- 9:51But they needed all those years in the IVA to make it the best
- 9:55suit possible. And then they added on top of
- 9:58that. So now they have the Eva.
- 10:01They'll be the first crew to do a Starlink based communication
- 10:05in space. So they're going to get valuable
- 10:07data for future space communications.
- 10:10And while in orbit, the crew will conduct scientific
- 10:12research. Let's see what they have here.
- 10:15They have ultrasound to monitor, detect and quantify gas BGE
- 10:20contributing to studies on human prevalence to decompression
- 10:23segments, So basically the bends and also gathering data on the
- 10:27radiation environment like we were saying before the Van Allen
- 10:30radiation belt providing biological samples towards
- 10:33multiomics analysis for a long term biobank and research
- 10:38related to Space Flight association, Neuro Ocular
- 10:40syndrome which is a key risk to human health and long duration
- 10:43Space Flight. So your eyes get wonky in space
- 10:46and they want to figure out why. And once they figure out the why
- 10:50and how it happens, then they can figure out a way to prevent
- 10:53it in the future. So that's important for long
- 10:57duration Space Flight. When you want to go to, you
- 11:00know, I don't know, sorry, Incitalis or something.
- 11:06Incitalis. I said that wrong anyway.
- 11:08You want to go to the moon? Another planet.
- 11:12Why can't I think of how to say that right now anyway?
- 11:14You want to go to the moons of Jupiter, right?
- 11:17And that'll be great, but how? It's going to take you forever.
- 11:19And by the time you get there, your eyes might be so messed up
- 11:22you can't even see what you're, you know what you're looking at
- 11:25because your eyes get so messed up.
- 11:26So this neuro ocular syndrome or sands, it could be a thing that
- 11:32they they start the process of figuring it out now and then in
- 11:37like the years in the future, they could figure out how to
- 11:41stop it before it starts and also how to fix it.
- 11:44So the Eva suit, you know, it looks like a regular, looks kind
- 11:48of like a regular IVA suit, but it's way more tech.
- 11:52In the Polaris Dawn program, of course has Jared Isaacman, Scott
- 11:56Petit, Sarah Gillis and Anna Menin who are going to be flying
- 11:59on this thing and they were going to be influential for the
- 12:03future of spaceflight altogether.
- 12:05I mean, Inspiration Four was a huge deal, but Polaris Dawn,
- 12:08that's taken it up to like 20 out of 10.
- 12:13It's huge. And Eva commercial Eva, like no
- 12:15one's ever done this before. Private Eva, no one's done it.
- 12:18So what I want to talk about now is when do you get done with
- 12:21these Evas, the Space Flight, tourism, Space Flight, thinking
- 12:25SpaceX is going to put everybody out of business that's doing
- 12:27this now because they have everything.
- 12:32Of course, we know Spacex's Starship will be going to the
- 12:34moon. We know SpaceX Starship
- 12:36eventually will go to Mars. But in between the moon and
- 12:40Mars, SpaceX has to figure out how to put people in the
- 12:43Starship in low Earth orbit to send them to the moon and Mars.
- 12:48How do you do that? You test things like Evas in a
- 12:51Dragon capsule where it's already built.
- 12:53Starship can't send people, yet it can barely get to orbit.
- 12:57I mean, it did a great job with IFT E3 and upcoming IFT 4, but
- 13:02nobody's going to get in that thing for a while.
- 13:04And these Dragon capsule tests, I mean, I don't know how many
- 13:09more Jared is going to try to do with players program, but right
- 13:12now they have. You have three of them, three of
- 13:15them planned. So we have the Polaris program,
- 13:17which eventually they have, you know, Polaris Dawn mission,
- 13:22mission two, and then mission three.
- 13:23They don't have names for mission two and three yet.
- 13:25This is mission 2 building upon Polaris Dawn.
- 13:28This mission will continue to expand the boundaries of human
- 13:30spaceflight missions in space, communications and scientific
- 13:33research. So basically Polaris Dawn, which
- 13:38is the first one, they're gonna take all that data that they get
- 13:42from the first one they've got. Like, what?
- 13:43Can we do this better than this? What can we do to add to this
- 13:46and to make the next flight even more robust?
- 13:49So every lesson they learned from the mission one, they're
- 13:53gonna put towards mission two, and then for mission three, this
- 13:56will be the first human spaceflight on a Starship, and
- 14:00this will be something you could book in the future.
- 14:04So the first human spaceflight on Starship mission 3, Polaris
- 14:08Starship mission. I don't know what they're gonna
- 14:11call it, but it seems like that's where everybody's headed.
- 14:14So the first human space light on Starship, they're gonna human
- 14:17rate Starship. NASA has the humans rate
- 14:20Starship so they can send people to the moon in it.
- 14:24And will the mission three of Polaris program be a lunar
- 14:29Starship or will it be the crew Starship that sends people to
- 14:34Mars? OK, so the crew Starship have a
- 14:37big window, a bunch of windows have like places to hang out.
- 14:41There will have an inside of the Starship where you could fly
- 14:45around, I guess not fly. You could float around and there
- 14:49will be, you know, there will be a a galley, a cafe, you know,
- 14:53like everything. You need sleeping quarters.
- 14:55You have your own little quarters to hang out in
- 14:58communications. Things like kind of like if you
- 15:01go on a cruise or if you go on a, how about this?
- 15:03This is even better. So it's sort of like if you've
- 15:07mashed up a cruise and a submarine or an airliner, I
- 15:11guess would be a better way to put it.
- 15:13But you're in the tube, you're basically in a 777 or something.
- 15:17It's big. It's quite large, 9 meters
- 15:19around, 30 feet around. It's huge.
- 15:23And you get that all to yourself and like a few other people, but
- 15:28you know, it's a cramped, cramped area.
- 15:30You're in there with a bunch of people and it's not a open tube.
- 15:34There's going to be life support systems, a bunch of things
- 15:36around you. But it's going to be a a great
- 15:39place to test things in low Earth orbit for Polaris program
- 15:45and then move you off to the moon and Mars and beyond.
- 15:48But the the first one is going to be the Polaris mission 3.
- 15:53Now I know everybody's thinking like, OK, so so Polaris mission,
- 15:57cool, great, what does that matter?
- 16:00What matters? Because right now you can book a
- 16:02mission with SpaceX to go to low Earth orbit.
- 16:07And eventually, if you have enough money and this is human
- 16:11rated for long duration Space Flight, and they finally figure
- 16:14out how to fuel this up in low Earth orbit, you're going to be
- 16:19able to go to Mars. You're going to be able to fly
- 16:22you and a bunch of friends to Mars.
- 16:24You might not want to land on Mars because it's it's
- 16:27dangerous. It's horrible there.
- 16:30It's horrible like Mars is like one.
- 16:32It's one of the worst places to live and that's why we don't
- 16:35live there, because it's the worst place.
- 16:38It's like going to the top of Mount Everest and trying to live
- 16:41like it's it's almost impossible.
- 16:44People die all the time. Going to Everest, like climbing
- 16:46up Everest and sometimes coming back down, they might make the
- 16:49peak, but coming back down Everest, some people die.
- 16:53And when you go to Mars, there's no oxygen, sort of like Everest.
- 16:56It's super cold in places like Everest.
- 16:59It's extremely dangerous to get there, which is also getting to
- 17:04the top of Everest, you know, and I'm just making this
- 17:06comparison because I know people.
- 17:08It's an extremely difficult thing to do.
- 17:11So people have done it. But it took a few brave people
- 17:16with the resources to do it, to do it the first few times.
- 17:21And once they did it, other people were like, oh, they can
- 17:24do that. I can.
- 17:25I can do that too. I have some money.
- 17:28I got some resources. I think I could climb that
- 17:30mountain. You hire the right people to
- 17:33take you up there, which would be Jared's new program, which
- 17:37trains astronauts and then sends them wherever they're going to
- 17:41go. And also you work with SpaceX
- 17:43for Starship integration and then you're good to go, which
- 17:50would take you months to get there, 9/6 to nine months to get
- 17:52this, get to Mars. Then you have to take 6 to 9
- 17:56months to get back. So you're going to be in this
- 17:58tube for about a year. That's why I was, I was kind of
- 18:02combining the submarine and an airliner and sort of like a
- 18:06cruise because they're all things that you do that have
- 18:09life support systems. But also you're in a tube for a
- 18:13year or more like or a year and a half or something if you just
- 18:18go to Mars and come back. But you're probably going to
- 18:20want to go to Mars, do a couple laughs, do a couple orbits, you
- 18:23know, spend a month in orbit. I don't know.
- 18:25That would be great. That'd be great.
- 18:27I'm not going to be the person that does this.
- 18:29Let me know in the comments if you're the person that does
- 18:31this, because I'm not going to be that person.
- 18:34So what I want to do is I want to, I want to figure out who
- 18:38would do this. If you had unlimited resources,
- 18:40unlimited money. Would you go to Mars on a
- 18:43Starship? Would you be one of the first
- 18:45people? Let's put it that way.
- 18:46Let's put let's do that. Would you be one of the first
- 18:48people to go to Mars? That would be incredible.
- 18:52You'd be a pioneer and you would be in the history books.
- 18:56You could become a hero for all of humanity.
- 19:02So think about that. If you have the money to do it,
- 19:05is your ego big enough? If it's just an adventure thing,
- 19:08you're just like, man, I just want to go to Mars.
- 19:10How sick would that be? That would be cool, right?
- 19:12That'd be fun. But if it's an ego thing where
- 19:16you're like, you know what, I get nothing else better going
- 19:17on. This is my way to make a
- 19:19contribution. That's cool too.
- 19:22That's cool too. I I think that's great.
- 19:23I couldn't do it myself personally, so I think you are
- 19:26way more brave than me if you think you could do it, so let me
- 19:29know in the comments. So we don't know how much it's
- 19:32going to cost either. So a Starship could possibly go
- 19:36for. Elon said it's going to take a
- 19:39couple million, like 20 million to launch a Starship, which is
- 19:43incredibly low, incredibly low, maybe up to 100 million to
- 19:49launch a Starship. So if you got 25,000,000, Elon
- 19:53has to make profit too. So say if you have 50 million,
- 19:56you get 4 people to go with you. You're going to need a captain,
- 19:59you know, somebody who's in charge.
- 20:01Of course, you're going to have to have people.
- 20:03Everybody has to know how to work all the systems, kind of.
- 20:07You have to have people that are, you know, like a doctor.
- 20:10You have to have somebody who's in charge of the food and like a
- 20:14bunch of different people. It's sort of like going on a
- 20:15Star Trek ship, you know, everybody has their duty like
- 20:18you're in a submarine. Or you're in an air flight, like
- 20:21in an airliner where there's a pilot, copilot, etcetera, and
- 20:26sort of like the International Space Station.
- 20:28Because basically what you're doing is flying a space station,
- 20:30a mini space station to Mars. It's going to take a while to
- 20:34get there. You need all the systems,
- 20:36everything needs to work Florida State for six to nine months to
- 20:41get there. How do you do that?
- 20:44You get the right people to do the right jobs if anything
- 20:46happens. Can you 3D print a part or do
- 20:49you bring extra parts with you? How heavy are those parts?
- 20:52If one part fails, what's the redundancy?
- 20:56It's a it's a complicated mess, you know when you when you think
- 20:59about it, because starships are big, they're giant things.
- 21:03They're 150 feet tall, possibly bigger in the future according
- 21:07to Elon. So who who does the work, You
- 21:12know? So you're going to have to have,
- 21:14I'm thinking, I'm guessing this is another thing we can talk
- 21:17about in the comments too. I'm guessing minimum six people
- 21:22going to Mars, minimum, possibly 10.
- 21:26The thing is huge. Starship is huge.
- 21:28So think about, because you're not gonna have a whole 150 feet
- 21:32of of motion between the top of the Starship and where everybody
- 21:37hangs out. There's there's numerous videos
- 21:40about the interior of Starship and how it works.
- 21:42SpaceX released something a long time ago about the interior of
- 21:46Starship 2, so if you could dig that up, try to find that too.
- 21:50That's pretty interesting. But people have also made their
- 21:53own renderings. We have a video from a long time
- 21:55ago, a couple years ago, focusing and showcasing the
- 21:59interior of the Starship. Have a bunch of YouTube shorts
- 22:02about it too. We had a a great graphic artist,
- 22:07Pork Roll Porky, helping us out, and he said Pork Roll, no, Pork
- 22:13Roll's the guy they play games with.
- 22:17I forgot. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 22:20So anyway, sorry to the artist. I think it's Pork Roll.
- 22:23I don't know. I think Porky's the guy that we
- 22:25play games with. Anyway, that's beside the point.
- 22:30So there's a bunch of interior renderings and videos about
- 22:33that. And SpaceX will make sure that
- 22:36everything's taken care of before you fly to Mars.
- 22:38So part of that is getting to the moon, flying people to the
- 22:41moon, making sure all the systems work there and then
- 22:45making it even better because you can have systems that go to
- 22:49the moon and some of these things like we might not go to
- 22:52Mars for the next 20 years. And I don't want to be one of
- 22:56those people. I'm not a naysayer.
- 22:58I just know how fast technology works and especially Space
- 23:01Flight. How long did it take SpaceX to
- 23:05get AISS rated? Star or Falcon?
- 23:10And you know, the Crew Dragon took him a little while, right?
- 23:13Took him years to do that. So Starship could be human rated
- 23:18for the moon, but going all the way to Mars, there's massive
- 23:24amounts of radiation in between here and Mars.
- 23:27How do you shield for that? I'm sure they're working on that
- 23:29in the background. How do you shield for that?
- 23:31How do you make sure that everyone's OK?
- 23:33Do you line the walls with water?
- 23:36People were talking about that for a while.
- 23:37Water's really heavy. Really, really heavy.
- 23:41So I don't think that's going to be a possibility.
- 23:44What kind of materials can you use?
- 23:46Is there just going to be a radiation bunker somewhere in
- 23:48the place where everybody kind of hunkers down while a big
- 23:52radiation storm comes through or something?
- 23:54That's a possibility. They did that.
- 23:55They they did that in the ISS. They do that or not in the ISS.
- 23:58They do that with some concepts for lunar landing and also for
- 24:07long derision, Space Flight. NASA has done concept concepts
- 24:10about that in the past. So there's a possibility that
- 24:15they have a bunker in the Starship and that would, you
- 24:17know, that would eradicate like a bunch of fears for people,
- 24:23especially with radiation. And then the rest of the ship
- 24:27could be rated for radiation, long duration, long duration
- 24:32Space Flight, radiation. There we go, it's the long run.
- 24:35So I don't know, would you take that flight?
- 24:38It's going to be 10s, maybe $100 million.
- 24:42If you had the money, would you do it?
- 24:44I think there's a possibility. I think there's a possibility.
- 24:48And I think Jared Isaacman is going to train the astronauts
- 24:52that go to Mars or go to Mars himself.
- 24:54Be the first person to go to Mars.
- 24:57I don't know if it's going to be a nation.
- 24:59I think it might be. It might be Jared.
- 25:01I think he's going to be the first person to do that, to go
- 25:04around Mars, to fly around Mars and come back.
- 25:07He's an explorer, he's a, he's a thrill seeker.
- 25:11He's very tempered, very well spoken, very calm, great
- 25:18demeanor. So him being in charge of
- 25:20everybody and being the commander of the first Starship
- 25:23to go to Mars, I mean, if he's the, he's the commander of the
- 25:26first Starship in orbit, first human rated Starship in orbit,
- 25:31that's the first step. And maybe he'll go around the
- 25:34moon for the first time. I don't know.
- 25:35It would be great if he does all these things.
- 25:38Maybe he's the explorer we need. Maybe we need Jared to do all
- 25:41these things. So Jared could go lower Thurbin
- 25:42in Starship. Go around the moon in Starship
- 25:46before Dear Moon. Maybe, I don't know.
- 25:49Maybe we'll see. And then maybe go around Mars.
- 25:53But Dear Moon, I know not look at do good.
- 25:56Dear Moon. I look at do good.
- 26:00But I don't know if Jared is going to be competitive enough.
- 26:02He'll pay whatever he he can pay.
- 26:05But Dear Moon seems like, I mean there's gonna be 1234567891011
- 26:12people that go to Dear Moon and Dear Moon's been postponed as
- 26:16well. You know they started it in 2018
- 26:21and they wanted you know they wanted to launch in 2023 for
- 26:28start with Starship in 2023. Can you imagine that?
- 26:31We all know, we all know that Starship is far away from
- 26:36launching anybody to the moon. Years away from launching
- 26:39anybody to the moon, even Artemis, the NASA program is
- 26:43slated for like 20-30 ish now. So they wanted 2023, of course,
- 26:48very ambitious flight timeline, but 20-30?
- 26:53That's more realistic. But even then, you know, six
- 26:56years from now, getting the Starship human rated, Jared's
- 27:00gonna be one of those first, the first people to do that.
- 27:02And then once they figure that out, send somebody around the
- 27:05moon before they send NASA astronauts.
- 27:10I don't know. I don't know.
- 27:11I think, I don't know if NASA would be OK with that.
- 27:15They probably would. But I mean, what is NASA?
- 27:16Just a customer of SpaceX? I don't know if they'd be mad or
- 27:19not, but who? I mean, if you're Elon, you
- 27:22can't make like you can't. You can't make your one of your
- 27:25best customers upset with you due to these politics.
- 27:30I don't know. So would they send a private
- 27:32astronaut crew before a NASA astronaut crew around the moon
- 27:37Out of Starship? I don't know because it's just a
- 27:41it's a it's a weird thing. So SpaceX and dear Moon project
- 27:46of course postponed until they figure out how to do it.
- 27:50You know they're upgrading everything as we speak.
- 27:54Flight 4 of Starship coming up soon TM middle of the month,
- 27:58maybe. We'll see.
- 28:00But they're doing testing right now with the ship and they're
- 28:02doing the booster and hopefully soon they'll get the FAA
- 28:05approval to DUO Starship flight. Hey, thank you.
