SPEAKER_01: Hello and welcome back to the Beyond Limits Podcast.
• 0:51
SPEAKER_01: I'm Olivia Marie, and today I have a very exciting episode for you.
• 0:56
  SPEAKER_01: It's the morning.
• 0:57
SPEAKER_01: I've got my coffee here with you.
• 0:59
SPEAKER_01: And we're having a coffee chat about how to actually have 2026 be your best year yet.
• 1:07
SPEAKER_01: And you're gonna see from the title that this episode is called Don't Set Goals, Set Standards.
• 1:14
SPEAKER_01: And I wanna dive into this because this is something that so many women don't fully grasp or don't fully understand, which then doesn't allow them to experience the level of money, wealth, luxury, whatever it is that you desire in this year coming forward that you want to experience.
• 1:32
SPEAKER_01: So that is what we are diving into this episode about.
• 1:35
SPEAKER_01: Now, what is the difference between goals and standards?
• 1:39
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_01: And I've been saying for years, if you've been in my world, you don't receive your goals, you receive your standards.
• 1:45
SPEAKER_01: And that is because, right, when we are thinking about a goal, a goal is something outside of you, number one, which creates separation.
• 1:54
SPEAKER_01: You're in my world, you're listening to the money episodes on this podcast, you know that creating separation is not the vibe.
• 2:01
  SPEAKER_01: It's not what we're going for.
• 2:02
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 2:02
SPEAKER_01: So when we think about goals, goals are like I have a goal of being a millionaire.
• 2:07
SPEAKER_01: I have a goal of making a million dollars, I have a goal of branch pressing a hundred pounds, I have a goal of running a marathon, I have a goal of reaching 50,000 followers on Instagram, whatever the goal is.
• 2:23
SPEAKER_01: You can feel right in your body, in your nervous system, when you say I have a goal, it's up, right?
• 2:31
SPEAKER_01: It's outside of you, it's somehow higher than you, it is not here yet.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_01: Versus when you have a standard, right?
• 2:40
SPEAKER_01: A standard is your baseline.
• 2:43
SPEAKER_01: The thing is that the nervous system doesn't give you your goals, it gives you your standards.
• 2:50
SPEAKER_01: Your nervous system, whatever you normalize to it, becomes what you experience.
• 2:56
SPEAKER_01: And so that is why I don't want you setting goals in 2026.
• 2:59
SPEAKER_01: I want you setting standards.
• 3:01
SPEAKER_01: Because when you set standards, that is going to be the barometer for what you achieve or what you experience in 2026.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_01: So I want you to think about, you know, in all the different areas of life.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_01: And you can do this, you know, for business, you can do this for relationships, friendships, health, visibility.
• 3:22
SPEAKER_01: I encourage you to do a complete overhaul, right, at your 2025 and into 2026.
• 3:29
SPEAKER_01: Because when you do this, you're gonna be able to see, all right, where in 2025 did it actually make sense that these things didn't happen because my standards weren't up to par.
• 3:42
  SPEAKER_01: And it's so funny.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_01: I want to dive into this in this episode because a lot of women, they set the standard, but then the standard backs down, right?
• 3:54
SPEAKER_01: They don't end up enforcing or staying true to your standard.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_01: And this is important, right?
• 3:59
SPEAKER_01: Because when we have the standards and we move in congruence with them, right?
• 4:04
SPEAKER_01: When we end up staying true to those standards, we end up receiving them.
• 4:09
SPEAKER_01: And I guarantee there are standards you have in your life right now.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_01: And the example I always love to use is that you probably have a standard of brushing your teeth every day, twice a day, probably, if not three times a day.
• 4:23
  unknown: Right.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_01: So when we think about, oh yeah, it's a standard that I brush my teeth, it's not like, oh my God, live, I have this goal of brushing my teeth every single day.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_01: It's grounded in the body, it's landed in the body, and that's the same kind of energy that I want you to apply to your standards you're sitting in 2026.
• 4:48
  SPEAKER_01: Right?
• 4:48
SPEAKER_01: If your standard is to make a million dollars in 2026, you're not like I have this goal of making a million dollars.
• 4:57
  SPEAKER_01: It's like I have a standard, I'm gonna make a million dollars.
• 5:01
SPEAKER_01: You can feel the truth in your body when I say that.
• 5:04
SPEAKER_01: There's a different energetic frequency behind one versus the other.
• 5:08
SPEAKER_01: And this is important, right?
• 5:09
SPEAKER_01: Because we said your nervous system is what's going to allow in based on those standards.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_01: Your nervous system does not allow in based on what you desire, based on what you visualize, based on, you know, the things you're imagining or fantasizing in your head.
• 5:24
SPEAKER_01: And so I want you to be able to write down all of the different standards that you have going into 2026 for all the different areas of your life and really break down what those standards are going to look like.
• 5:37
SPEAKER_01: Not, you know, if I was this thing or if I had this thing, then I would do this.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_01: It's well, if this was the standard, these are the boundaries I would have.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_01: This is how I would treat my body.
• 5:49
SPEAKER_01: This is how I would run my business.
• 5:52
SPEAKER_01: This is how I would implement these things.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_01: And it's funny, when I run people through this, when I run clients through this, you'll always find the gaps as to what your standards are versus what you are settling for or what you are doing.
• 6:05
  SPEAKER_01: You'll immediately see, huh?
• 6:07
SPEAKER_01: You know, if I have the standard that I want to make more money with more ease, okay, what great.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_01: But are you then making things more complicated?
• 6:16
SPEAKER_01: Are you then creating more hoops to jump through?
• 6:19
SPEAKER_01: Are you then pushing and grinding instead of letting things be easy?
• 6:23
SPEAKER_01: Are you just putting up a couple stories?
• 6:25
SPEAKER_01: Maybe a story with like no caption or no nothing.
• 6:28
SPEAKER_01: And you're like, no, easy.
• 6:30
  SPEAKER_01: Money comes to me.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_01: Or are you sitting there overthinking?
• 6:33
SPEAKER_01: Are you like, oh, do I use this word or this one?
• 6:36
SPEAKER_01: Do I launch this thing or say this thing?
• 6:38
SPEAKER_01: Do I post this or do I do this?
• 6:41
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 6:41
SPEAKER_01: And in all of that, you're the one not making it easy.
• 6:44
SPEAKER_01: You're the one creating the loops because you went back on your standard.
• 6:48
SPEAKER_01: And I want you to really remember this because a standard is what your nervous system perceives is safe, inevitable, familiar, and expected.
• 6:57
SPEAKER_01: Now, that doesn't mean that we can't be grateful for things, but I want you to notice where there is that excitement, because you think you need to feel that excited emotion for that thing, that it would then be a shock to your system.
• 7:11
SPEAKER_01: So let's go back to the brushing your teeth example.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_01: If you were to wake up in the morning and brush your teeth, you wouldn't be like, oh my God, Liv, like I'm brushing my teeth and it's so amazing.
• 7:21
SPEAKER_01: Like the minty toothpaste in my mouth and the way that the toothpaste is frothing up.
• 7:27
  SPEAKER_01: You wouldn't do that.
• 7:28
SPEAKER_01: You would think that's completely insane.
• 7:30
SPEAKER_01: But the same thing goes for money and business.
• 7:32
SPEAKER_01: But people think that, like, oh, if I want to manifest or receive a million dollars this year, then it needs to feel exciting to the system.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_01: I need to feel how amazing and exciting it would be.
• 7:45
SPEAKER_01: But the nervous system doesn't give you what's exciting or you know what you feel.
• 7:49
SPEAKER_01: It gives you what is the standard, what is the baseline, what is normalized.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_01: So I want you to feel the difference of does this feel like, oh, I'm brushing my teeth, or does it feel like you're putting this thing on a pedestal?
• 8:04
SPEAKER_01: Does it feel like it's this magical, elusive thing that would be, oh my God, so amazing?
• 8:10
SPEAKER_01: And I did a post on this semi-recently where I was talking about when you are worshiping the result, right?
• 8:16
SPEAKER_01: And I was speaking about it in terms of money.
• 8:18
SPEAKER_01: If there's a certain amount of money and, you know, or a certain goal in 2026, where you're like, oh my God, that would be amazing.
• 8:25
  SPEAKER_01: I could, I can't believe it.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_01: If this was there, that would be so incredible.
• 8:29
SPEAKER_01: Your system is unconsciously worshiping the result.
• 8:33
SPEAKER_01: And like I said, you cannot normalize what you idolize.
• 8:37
SPEAKER_01: And I love this because sometimes my clients will repeat back by saying this to me.
• 8:41
SPEAKER_01: I think one day there might need to be like a book of Liz iconic sayings, because one of the ones I'm gonna say to you now is you cannot normalize what you idolize.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_01: So if you're idolizing your goals, if you are worshiping the result, if you are putting money or the relationship or the health or the body or the lifestyle, the car, the whatever it is, right?
• 9:03
SPEAKER_01: You have these standards for, if you're worshiping it like it's this, oh my God, thing, you're creating separation.
• 9:09
SPEAKER_01: And we don't receive what we create separation from, we receive what we normalize.
• 9:14
SPEAKER_01: Now I want to bring in a different thread of this for you because it's not only that we don't receive what we don't normalize, but I guarantee, right, there are places right now that you are settling or that you've outgrown that you haven't realized because you're in this kind of habitual state where you're going through the motions.
• 9:33
SPEAKER_01: So you're going through life and business and the way you interact with money and maybe in your your relationships or your friendships, and it's kind of stagnant, it's kind of old, it's stale, it's not bad, it's not wrong, it's just you're meant for more.
• 9:49
SPEAKER_01: And this is something that I help women with when we're taking them from good to extraordinary, because a lot of times things are good.
• 9:56
SPEAKER_01: So it's like, all right, if things are good, the standard needs to be raised to extraordinary.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_01: And so when your old standards don't fit anymore, you're gonna be able to feel that in your body, right?
• 10:07
SPEAKER_01: You can feel when like, this doesn't feel like expansive to me.
• 10:12
SPEAKER_01: This feels a little stagnant, a little stale, not as alive in my system.
• 10:17
SPEAKER_01: And this is important because this is going to point you as to, huh, what do I now want to tolerate as the bare minimum?
• 10:24
SPEAKER_01: What are the now the new standards that I want to set in my life?
• 10:27
SPEAKER_01: And what would that exactly look like?
• 10:30
SPEAKER_01: You know, this is how I treat myself now.
• 10:32
SPEAKER_01: This is the level of ease I expect now.
• 10:35
SPEAKER_01: And you can apply this to everything.
• 10:37
SPEAKER_01: I think about, you know, when I'm raising standards and I've done this over the last five years, I think about the quality of water as like a standard.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_01: And this sounds simple, but in my house, you know, with me, my fiance, we don't drink tap water, right?
• 10:51
SPEAKER_01: So we have a standard of reverse osmosis spring water.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_01: When we go out, you know, we're at restaurants, we order bottled spring water.
• 10:59
SPEAKER_01: We don't drink tap water.
• 11:00
SPEAKER_01: That is a standard we have for our health.
• 11:03
SPEAKER_01: When it comes to the meat that we eat, right?
• 11:05
SPEAKER_01: We eat grass-fed meat, we eat organic, we eat a certain standard of food because that is the bare minimum, that is the expectation, right?
• 11:14
SPEAKER_01: When you think about the pen you write with, I have a very specific muji pen, 0.35 pen blue, which is the pen I write with.
• 11:24
  SPEAKER_01: I don't like any other pens.
• 11:26
SPEAKER_01: That pen is the standard.
• 11:27
SPEAKER_01: I've used that pen since med school.
• 11:28
  SPEAKER_01: It's the one type, it's perfect.
• 11:31
SPEAKER_01: It's not even the super fanciest pen, but is the standard because of how thin it writes and how I feel when like the pen writes and it's beautiful, it's smooth, it's seamless.
• 11:40
SPEAKER_01: This could be the shampoo you use.
• 11:43
SPEAKER_01: It could be the body products you use.
• 11:45
SPEAKER_01: You know, I love my OSEA body oil.
• 11:48
  SPEAKER_01: Like it's very luxurious.
• 11:50
SPEAKER_01: When I think about the pajamas right now that I'm wearing, like these are 100% silk pajamas.
• 11:56
SPEAKER_01: They are not plastic pajamas just because some of those satin pajamas can be plastic.
• 12:02
SPEAKER_01: You know, I think about the sweaters I really like to wear.
• 12:05
SPEAKER_01: They're either cashmere or like a wool cashmere blend.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_01: I don't like to wear like the plastic blends.
• 12:11
SPEAKER_01: There's so many different things that you can apply this.
• 12:13
SPEAKER_01: And when you start to audit your life, you can start to raise these standards.
• 12:17
SPEAKER_01: You don't have to necessarily raise all the standards at once.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_01: You know, you can start with your water, you can start with your food, the clothes you're wearing, the makeup you're wearing, the body products you're using.
• 12:28
SPEAKER_01: All right, even you look at your business, you can look at your life.
• 12:31
  SPEAKER_01: Huh?
• 12:32
SPEAKER_01: How do I want to be operating this way in 2026?
• 12:35
SPEAKER_01: You know, I want to take calls on Fridays, I don't want to take calls on Fridays.
• 12:39
  SPEAKER_01: I want to stop at 5 p.m.
• 12:40
  SPEAKER_01: I don't want to stop at 5 p.m.
• 12:42
SPEAKER_01: I want to start calls at 11, I want to start them at seven.
• 12:45
SPEAKER_01: These sounds simple, but when you are actually slowing down and creating the architecture for how you're gonna live your life and the standards you have, you will be shocked at what happens when then you receive them.
• 12:57
SPEAKER_01: And I want to bring this next point in because when you start to raise your standards, the first mark of change is not that your standards are met, but it is the universe, you know, source spirit is going to seek to confirm your standards.
• 13:14
SPEAKER_01: And when this happens to you, you're gonna remember me and my voice and this episode saying, like, oh, this is what Liv talked about, right?
• 13:23
SPEAKER_01: So an example I really like to give when it comes to standards is let's say, you know, you put your order into the universe, like this is the the coffee I want, right?
• 13:31
SPEAKER_01: Like you're walking up to the barista, you're ordering your decaf almond milk latte, and they make your drink, you're waiting for your drink, and they go, the latte for you know, live whole milk.
• 13:44
SPEAKER_01: And you're like, oh, am I just gonna do I just like drink it anyway?
• 13:49
  SPEAKER_01: Right?
• 13:50
SPEAKER_01: Do I hold the standard or do I go back on the standard and settle for the thing that's less than?
• 13:56
SPEAKER_01: Do I go back to the old one?
• 13:58
SPEAKER_01: Do I drink the whole milk instead of the almond milk?
• 14:01
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_01: And for you, maybe whole milk isn't that big of a difference.
• 14:04
SPEAKER_01: For me, having a bunch of dairy would not be good for my system.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_01: But for you, it's like, oh, that's not quite the standard, but it's almost there.
• 14:12
SPEAKER_01: So maybe I'll settle for it.
• 14:14
SPEAKER_01: Maybe I'll just, I'll just drink that latte.
• 14:16
  SPEAKER_01: It's good enough.
• 14:17
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 14:17
SPEAKER_01: Or you ordered a steak that was rare, but they brought it medium rare.
• 14:21
SPEAKER_01: It's like, oh, it's a little overdone, but you know what?
• 14:24
  SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
• 14:25
SPEAKER_01: So I'm just gonna eat it anyway.
• 14:27
  SPEAKER_01: You know what?
• 14:28
SPEAKER_01: I quoted this amount of price.
• 14:30
SPEAKER_01: This is the price I wanted to get paid, but they only want to pay this much.
• 14:34
SPEAKER_01: All right, I'm gonna abandon myself and I'm gonna, you know, go that lower price point.
• 14:38
SPEAKER_01: Every time you do that, right, you are signaling your standards.
• 14:42
SPEAKER_01: So standards are not only about the standards that you set, but it's about when those standards are pushed up against.
• 14:48
SPEAKER_01: Do you hold the standard or are you gonna go back and settle for that old level?
• 14:53
SPEAKER_01: And that is usually the point I see a lot of women flinch.
• 14:56
SPEAKER_01: Because when you're listening to me now, it's gonna be very fun, right, for you to get out your notebook, to get out your journal, to or do it on a Word document, wherever you're gonna do it, and you're like, standards for 2026.
• 15:09
SPEAKER_01: But then you're gonna, you're gonna implement them.
• 15:11
SPEAKER_01: You're like, okay, vibe, this is what we're doing for health, for you know, wealth, for relationships, for friendships, for all the things.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_01: And then you're gonna go, and there's gonna be a chance for you to implement them, or there's gonna be a pushback, and that's gonna be the choice where you're like, you're either gonna have choice point A or choice point B.
• 15:28
SPEAKER_01: You're either gonna lock in the new identity or you're gonna go back to the old.
• 15:32
SPEAKER_01: Which one are you gonna choose?
• 15:34
SPEAKER_01: And that is your moment to lock into the new one, and that is what's going to make time rearrange around you.
• 15:42
SPEAKER_01: That is gonna is going to lock into your identity, right?
• 15:45
SPEAKER_01: Because you have this thing called the default mode network.
• 15:48
SPEAKER_01: It's your DMN in your nervous system.
• 15:50
SPEAKER_01: It is literally the default mode.
• 15:53
SPEAKER_01: So that's why standards are so important, right?
• 15:55
SPEAKER_01: Because this default mode learns what's your default.
• 15:58
SPEAKER_01: And because you don't receive your desires, you receive what is safe for your nervous system to let in.
• 16:03
SPEAKER_01: Whatever is its default, it's going to start to bring more.
• 16:08
SPEAKER_01: And that is why, if your default is low standards, all you're gonna get is more low standards or more things that meet those standards.
• 16:18
  SPEAKER_01: And it's funny.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_01: If you're saying you're gonna come to me like Lib, I want to receive this or I want to experience this, but I'm experiencing, you know, something at a lower level, I'm always gonna challenge you of like, what are your standards and how are you responding to reality when those standards aren't met?
• 16:34
SPEAKER_01: And are you holding them?
• 16:35
SPEAKER_01: Because that gap is going to tell you everything as to why it's quote unquote not here yet.
• 16:40
SPEAKER_01: So this is why normalization is the most powerful manifestation mechanism.
• 16:45
SPEAKER_01: If you show me what you are normalizing, I will show you what you are experiencing.
• 16:50
SPEAKER_01: And this is true every single time across the board in all aspects of life and business and relationships and all the things, you can always find the gap and you can always, which is perfect and empowering and free, that you're always able to raise the standard.
• 17:05
SPEAKER_01: So if there's something that's not up to your standard, you are always able to raise it to what you desire.
• 17:10
SPEAKER_01: It is just about whether you are going to hold it in the void while the barista is actually making you the latte with what you want, or whether you are going to flinch in that uncertainty, in that void space when the universe hasn't given you what you want to normalize yet.
• 17:27
SPEAKER_01: And then you're second guessing, you're checking like, is it gonna happen?
• 17:31
SPEAKER_01: Are they actually gonna make the drink that I want?
• 17:33
SPEAKER_01: Is the money gonna come?
• 17:34
SPEAKER_01: Is the relationship gonna come?
• 17:36
SPEAKER_01: Is the business gonna be in this way?
• 17:38
SPEAKER_01: Is the thing going to happen?
• 17:40
SPEAKER_01: And that will tell you everything.
• 17:41
SPEAKER_01: And one last thing before we close out this episode is that standards are important because when you have standards, you're a lot more relaxed, you're a lot more calm, you stop overthinking, you stop overanalyzing, and you know that you don't need to make moves from urgency, right?
• 17:58
SPEAKER_01: Because there is no separation, because these goals are not some big lofty thing outside of you.
• 18:03
SPEAKER_01: It's something that's so normal to your system.
• 18:05
SPEAKER_01: So you don't feel the need to chase and reach and grasp onto it because to you, it is the standard.
• 18:12
SPEAKER_01: So as you look forward into 2026, I want you to ask yourself this one question: what am I ready to normalize?
• 18:19
SPEAKER_01: Not hope for, not wish for, not visualize or manifest, but what are you ready to normalize?
• 18:28
SPEAKER_01: And go through this process around all areas of your life, and you will be floored as to what happens to you in 2026.
• 18:34
