SwimRVA Unlicensed After Tragic Drowning | Richmond News
SwimRVA was found operating an unlicensed child day program — a glaring oversight that raises urgent questions about safety, oversight, and accountability after the tragic drowning of nine-year-old King Overton. The Virginia Department of Education confirmed no exemptions applied, giving SwimRVA until July 27th to submit a compliance plan — or face shutdown by August 14, 2026. Penalties, including possible fines, remain pending, and the Executive Director has yet to respond to our inquiry.
