- 0:29Welcome into the treehouse. Time to leave those worries outside, well, almost
- 0:35all the worries. There is one I do need to bring up here in
- 0:38just a moment. But first I'm Daniel Malley along with Trey Trendholme and Raj
- 0:45Sharma. So there's one worry that creeps in. No matter how high you
- 0:51build a treehouse or how low into the ground you bury, I don't know
- 0:56it a groundhouse, or or how thick the walls you make. Whatever it
- 1:00is, it's still hot. Yeah, and it is so hot in Texas.
- 1:10How hot does a thick garage that Arcott is now asking everyone to voluntarily
- 1:17conserve, which is of course not new, But every time I see the
- 1:21headline it makes me laugh because I know that everyone just immediately just says fu
- 1:29to the voluntarily conserve after all the crap that Texas has been through in recent
- 1:34years. When it comes to electricity, I think it's even worse. I
- 1:40think people will literally go and turn their thermostat down a couple degrees when Urcott
- 1:45does that just to be a dick. Yeah, Spike is very spite is
- 1:49an extremely powerful motivator. I have to ask, like, what do you
- 1:55set your like apartments at what is the setting, like, what's your what's
- 1:59your act and my home or away homes? Home day or night average?
- 2:08Do you have t X shoes free nights and weekends? But all right,
- 2:12when I go to bed, when I sleep, it's usually sixty seven sixty
- 2:15eight seven. During the day, I usually put it about seventy two.
- 2:20If I'm not here, I put it up to like seventy eight six.
- 2:23That's on your dog's tongue hangs. Actually, you think with those temperatures,
- 2:29Daisy's tongue would stay in her mouth. That's cold. So yeah, that's
- 2:34what we used to do. That's what we used to do. So when
- 2:37we lived in Texas, it was at night, we would drop that ac
- 2:40down quite a bit because we like it cold. It's one of the reasons
- 2:45my wife and I work out so well together is that she likes it cold
- 2:47at night, and God bless her for it. But here's the here's my
- 2:53question. Okay, understand this. Do you like? Are you like?
- 2:57Okay, let's let's make it cold, but let's let's get under the down
- 3:00comforter because there's a resolution. Because there's a resolution to that. It depends
- 3:07Raj Okay. So the comforter that that that we have is a very lightweight,
- 3:15very breathable down comforter. So it's mid too. Well, no,
- 3:21that's that's that's the one in Dallas. Okay. Here we just have like
- 3:24it's like a blanket. Yeah, okay, So we're not we're not.
- 3:28We're not just throwing comforters around and needing to turn the air down because our
- 3:31betting is too thick. No, we're not. No, we we have
- 3:34appropriate betting. Yeah. But like Trey, well, we would keep thermostat,
- 3:38you know, in the mid to upper seventies if we could while we
- 3:44were there, if we weren't, maybe turn it up to seventy nine or
- 3:50maybe eighty okay, which is but but Urcott the Electric Reliability Council of Texas
- 4:00one of the most ironically named entities in the history of ever. If I
- 4:05remember last year, the year before, they released their recommendations on what they
- 4:11wanted Texans to set their thermostats, and it was like, during the day
- 4:15or away, they wanted you to put it at like eighty two or something,
- 4:18and when you're home, they said, you know, let's see if
- 4:23you can do seventy eight and I'm with Trey. Everyone's like, bitch,
- 4:26please, all of our thermostats are in like seventy four, seventy two.
- 4:30Yeah, I'm a seventy four. I'm I'm a good I'm a good seventy
- 4:33four. Like I'll turn it to seventy two for a minute and then like
- 4:36I'm desert. People like, I'm good with heat. I'm okay with it.
- 4:43Like people like it's hilarious to me, Like it's one hundred and nine.
- 4:46I'm like, and everybody in like the Middle East is like, it's
- 4:47a very pleasant day night, put put the jackets on. It's very it's
- 4:53very cool seven. But that's a dry heat. Yeah. I'm like I've
- 5:00been when I when I did the travel show for Amazon. Uh we had
- 5:03to do we did camel racing in the desert in India, and uh,
- 5:09we get there at so we're supposed to be there at I think ten.
- 5:14We didn't get there till eleven. And they're like, I mean that window.
- 5:17I'm like, oh, like the heat and you could see the camels
- 5:21and we should I should have known something. Hindsights twenty twenty camels were in
- 5:25the shade, and I'm like, that's weird. This is kind of their
- 5:29hood. Uh. And then we had a huge tent with the air conditioning
- 5:32units pumping in and uh we went to the go do the camel racing and
- 5:38the my my my camel when when when they when the race started, it
- 5:42took two steps and was like f this uh and just sat down and the
- 5:46handle that's actually that's actually a great barometer. Yeah that I wish more.
- 5:51I wish that. I wish that the meteorologists would would use those uh in
- 5:56their in their weather forecast because it's it's camel. Pay a lot more intention
- 6:00if say, Pete Delkis had a shot at the zoo of the African animals
- 6:08in the shade, Like, that's a new that's a new gauge that they
- 6:11can use for the rest of us to visually understand how hot it is the
- 6:15lions are in the shade. Maybe you should do the same. Yeah,
- 6:19if it's camel sitting hot, Uh, it's it's so about noon is when
- 6:26like and I asked the handler, I was he was trying to prod him
- 6:29to get him up, and I was like, what's the problem. It's
- 6:31like, is he hurt? Is he not not used to this? And
- 6:34he goes, it's too hot. Better. I'm like, why why are
- 6:39we here if it's too hot for the camel? What are we doing here?
- 6:44Uh? And then we wrapped it up around I think twelve thirty or
- 6:47one, because it was one hundred and I think it was one hundred and
- 6:51seventeen in the shade and I think it was one twenty three or whatever it
- 6:56was. And they told us we had to leave because flesh starts cooking at
- 7:00one hundred and twenty seven. So we were we were back like we got
- 7:04We woke up at six, got to the desert, back in the hotel
- 7:08by three. I was like, well, that was a good day of
- 7:10shooting. That was so on Thursday, Thursday, Thursday, August seventeenth was
- 7:17the hottest day of the year up up until that day, and that could
- 7:20not broke the record for the year. But then Friday, things are supposed
- 7:26to be hotter at temperatures was expected to reach one ten, possibly one eleven.
- 7:30Again that's the temperature, yeah, not the heated decks. The record
- 7:36for August eighteenth is one hundred and twelve degrees. That was set in nineteen
- 7:43o nine. Okay, and now that's what I'm saying nineteen o nine,
- 7:46it was one hundred and what one hundred and twelve, they didn't have a
- 7:51c No. Yeah, let's let's let's try to live like them. No.
- 7:58Oh, dear Godna, I like the progress we've made with air conditioning
- 8:01technology. I don't want to ever go back like I've I've heard of families
- 8:07that will do this in the summer of all times, where they'd go to
- 8:11camps that are that are that are designed to show families what it was like
- 8:16to live in colonial era. Like. No, I want none of I
- 8:20don't want. I don't even I'm pretty sure most of the country doesn't even
- 8:24want to revert back to the sixties, let alone the seventeen sixties pioneer camps.
- 8:28And Arcot's new slogan is live like it's nineteen o nine. That's what
- 8:33it should be. Conserve like it's nineteen o nine. Yeah. The Texans
- 8:39may be asked to conserve power on Friday because extreme heat is testing once again
- 8:45the state's power grid. This summer will be remembered for some pretty extreme temperatures,
- 8:50and that has repeatedly sent the demand for electricity higher than it's ever been.
- 8:54Many are naturally wondering if the state's power grid will be able to hold
- 8:58up to Erkot and the PUC the Public Utility Council kind of do a collective
- 9:05emo Elmo gift of them. Yeah. I actually no, they're not,
- 9:09because they've already announced that, Uh, our gyle is going to be a
- 9:16rolly have a rolling blackout tonight. What's our guyle up to that they're getting
- 9:20that fight? You don't know what our gyle did get into race a horse
- 9:26farts taking their toll. I my parents would do this thing you're talking about
- 9:31the Pioneer camps. My parents did this thing where we would go to I
- 9:35don't know, uh, like some like like, where would you guys go
- 9:39for your summer vacation? Did you have besides like your hometowns on vacation vacation?
- 9:45Where would you go pleasant climates or water parks or something like that.
- 9:48Typically for us, it was typically it was a family member's house that we
- 9:54were required to go visit. So it would be a road trip to you
- 9:58know, East Texas to visit my he's just great grandmother, or it might
- 10:01be my more fun and pleasant grandmother in Tulsa or actual Tulsa Tree, not
- 10:07Saint Tulsa. It might also be a visit to Worlds of Fun in Kansas
- 10:13City or six Flags. We would do that, and then twice when I
- 10:16was a child, we did Disney. Wow. See my parents would do
- 10:20this thing. Also did Granton a couple of times. So my parents would
- 10:24do this thing where we would go to this magical place called New Delhi in
- 10:30the summer and they have you know, India at one point four billion people.
- 10:35Uh, they've been doing rolling blackouts forever. So you'd go to sleep
- 10:41just fine, and you would wake up literally drenched in your own sweat.
- 10:46Uh. And this was supposed to be our So when the first time I
- 10:50remember that? So tell me what you did on your summer vacation, uh
- 10:54paper that you're supposed to write when you got back to school. I'm like,
- 10:56not die, that's what That's what I did, Drey. What were
- 11:01your summer vacations? You know? I I I had very few. We
- 11:09went to uh Winter Park twice as a kid. That really was about the
- 11:16it. My dad was not a big traveler and neither was my mom.
- 11:20And so okay, so you kind of stayed local. Yeah, stayed and
- 11:24Dan, I have to say something when when you identified your grandmother, your
- 11:30great grandmother is extremely racist. I think that goes without saying at this point,
- 11:33I think we all know that that grand that that that my great grandmother
- 11:39Sira was racist. That yeah, that generally that people from that era were
- 11:45just had a different view on life. That's the part of nineteen o nine.
- 11:48We don't want to live like right, yeah, but I don't see
- 11:54in your right. Like I had an X and they lived in Arlington,
- 12:00and it was sixty four in their house. Always didn't matter. It didn't
- 12:07matter if if everybody was out of the house, nobody, nobody turned it
- 12:09down. It was like I froze to death many a time, to the
- 12:16point where for Christmas they bought me another comforter for the Bensam summer mittens.
- 12:24Yeah. Like it was a little little things you can crack and put in
- 12:28your pocket to keep you warm. Yeah, yeah so they Yeah, so
- 12:33I understand. But I mean, for these the types of people that urcott,
- 12:37the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas is targeting when they say it's so hot,
- 12:43we need you to conserve. Whereas yeah, Trey, I think you're
- 12:48correct as well. I think the majority of Texans, and I think people
- 12:52in general, when they're told to do something, we all want to go
- 12:56m F you. But especially when it's a hundred and twelve degrees temperature with
- 13:03a heat index of one hundred and India, we don't. We don't want
- 13:09to be told where to set our thermostats. So much so when Urcott then
- 13:13comes out and says, hey, would you mind voluntarily conserving my responses would
- 13:18you voluntarily suck a bag at Well, it depends on the bag. Honestly,
- 13:28I Ercott, when you ask me to conserve energy, I want you
- 13:33to suck so many bags that you look like Joey Chestnut on the fourth of
- 13:37July, so seventy six. Hey, you know how you know how many
- 13:45fit into a bag? You're listening to the Treehouse, that treehouse on air
- 13:54dot com. Let's get Rodney Anderson into the treehouse now. His phone number
- 14:07nine seven two nine eight five fifty two hundred, the website Rodney Anderson dot
- 14:11com. You know, Rodney, over the years, you have helped so
- 14:13many of our listeners get into homes, and those homes are typically the single
- 14:18family residences. But that's not all you do. You also expand out into
- 14:22unique properties. What are those? Yeah, unique properties could be Barneminiums.
- 14:26We're seeing a lot of our buyers buy barneminiums or do cash out refinances on
- 14:31Barneminiums, which we do offer where many lenders don't. We also finance when
- 14:35people are buying double wide mobile homes on land. So we just had a
- 14:39client recently buy a double wide mobile home on five acres of land and they
- 14:43bought it for three hundred and fifty thousand dollars. They're like, this is
- 14:46way cheaper than single family residents live in. We've just had people buy a
- 14:52Barneminium. They bought one for seven hundred thousand dollars. So we think about
- 14:56Barneminiums being maybe just smaller structures. Many of these are larger structures and people
- 15:01just want a different change in live dan. But not only do we do
- 15:03loans in the DFW Metroplex, we do them all throughout the state of Texas,
- 15:09and we're also licensed in most states around the country. We just had
- 15:13a client that just got called back into the office. Well, the office
- 15:16meant you had to move back to Phoenix, Arizona, So they moved from
- 15:20the DFW area, and we just close their loan in Phoenix, Arizona.
- 15:22So we're licensed in Arizona, We're licensed in Arkansas, We're licensed in Oklahoma,
- 15:30many other states, Colorado, Florida, many other states that a lot
- 15:33of people are moving to. So we just tell people we want to be
- 15:35your lender for life, and pick up the phone and give us a call.
- 15:39Do that absolutely. Rodney's helped me on a couple of occasions and in
- 15:41doing real estate. He's the person that I have recommended one hundred percent of
- 15:46the time, just like I do here in the Treehouse. Give him a
- 15:50call nine seven two nine eight fifty two hundred. That's nine seven two nine
- 15:52eight fifty two hundred or Rodney Anderson dot com. And if m Lending is
- 15:56an equal housing lender A three thousand Village Parkway step four hundred, Highland Village,
- 16:00tex In the my list two three two nine business online at Treehouse onhair
- 16:03dot com. You're in the business online at Treehouse OnAir dot com. This
- 16:18segment of the Treehouse is brought to you by Cook DFW Roofing and Restorations.
- 16:23Their phone number eight three three Cook DFW. That's eight three three Cook DFW
- 16:27the website Cook dfw dot com. Give them a call for a free roof
- 16:32inspection. After all the excessive heat that we discussed in the previous segment,
- 16:38Daniel Cook has told us heat does and will affect the life of your roof.
- 16:44So give them a call so they can come out and let you know
- 16:45the status of it for free. Eight three three Cook DFW. So rage,
- 16:52I believe I showed Trey this a couple of weeks ago, but I
- 16:56don't think I've showed you yet. While we were gone in Texas, our
- 17:04house here in St. Thomas had a couple stay to how sit how Sit
- 17:11slash pet sit. The main goal was to take care of our animals right,
- 17:18yes, you got the two dogs, the two cats, eight chickens
- 17:22now and the main goal was for us to return to here from Texas with
- 17:30all twelve still alive. Now. Granted, Joel is like sixteen now,
- 17:36he's setting five pounds. He's like a sixteen year old dog, which makes
- 17:41him like a kung fu master in a movie old human years. And it's
- 17:45weird because I he'll stroke his like four foot long beard. But whatever the
- 17:51point is, he's an old dog. And I was legitimate. I was
- 17:53legitimately worried about whether or not he would still be here when we got back.
- 17:57Luckily he is. So we're very very happy. We feel very very
- 18:03blessed. However, now we've been back for a number of days, we
- 18:08keep discovering things that the house sitters did or in some cases did not do.
- 18:14So I'm going to give you the teaser to set the tone. Okay.
- 18:18One of the first things we found when we came home, as we
- 18:22walked into this room, this office that you see me and and on an
- 18:29end table where a lamp sits, Tara found this. It is a It
- 18:37is a It is a cardboard toilet paper roll with no toilet paper and a
- 18:44quarter sticking out of it, looking like a saw blade flew off of a
- 18:51saw into it, except it's a quarter. Gotcha, why why? Why
- 19:00why is this quarter sticking out the side of a toilet paper roll? I
- 19:03think I think it's on an end table for us to flo You're missing the
- 19:07abstract art, Dan, The metaphor is it's on the end table because it's
- 19:15it could be a metaphor for our for our for our money, for our
- 19:21for our content. It's a statement on consumerism and how you should take your
- 19:25American money and much of it up your ass flush it down the toilet.
- 19:30Ah, that makes more sense. Uh see, you're missing the point.
- 19:33Or it could be money ain't I don't know what it means. Uh money,
- 19:37money ain't a thing. I don't know what is? Have you have
- 19:40you looked it up? It could be a yeah. Also they could have
- 19:44been working on like a makeshift bongb I don't. I don't know. I
- 19:48had my my buddies in college. Uh made bonds out of many a thing.
- 19:52I've never seen that. Or it could be a guy who's like,
- 19:55I want to start doing magic. I've seen them used to let paper and
- 20:00a quote paper towel rolls for bongs. Yeah, but what was the quarter
- 20:03to do? It wouldn't be the thing to take out open it up and
- 20:07then he puts upthing there like to put the weed on. And then this
- 20:11is why I needed to ask you guys what this thing was, because I
- 20:17had faith that you might be able to come up with something possible. And
- 20:21I feel like you have because this is not the only random thing we have
- 20:26found in our house since the people left. And keep in mind we never
- 20:29actually met these people. They we knew them from like friends of friends,
- 20:33right, okay, and live in your house semi quasi strangers. We talked
- 20:40on them beforehand. They were friends of friends, and and we trust those
- 20:44friends. Those friends trust them, so therefore we just carried it over the
- 20:47trust. Then obviously we get home and weird things start appearing like this,
- 20:52and Trey, I think you may be onto something because this may have been
- 20:56the start of a white trash uh bong. Because one of the things I
- 21:03found on the floor in the kitchen was a broken glass pipe. Oh yeah,
- 21:07there you go, and it looked like it had had some various forms
- 21:11of smoke passed through it. So I took a whiff of and I was
- 21:14like, yeah, that's weed. Oh interesting, Okay, So what I
- 21:18think then may have happened, if Trey is correct here is they broke whatever
- 21:22glass piper bong that they brought and then had to resort to at least the
- 21:27failed attempt at the toilet paper quarter roll bong. Do you guys not have
- 21:32pringles in your house? Do you guys not carry the famous pringles we we
- 21:38I think the whole is probably too big, because I mean, you have
- 21:41to have put it up to your mouth. No, no, you can
- 21:45put the piet youth. I've I watched it happen. That's why I've I
- 21:49said a long time ago. If corporations want to solve problems higher stoners,
- 21:55oh, I couldn't agree with you, bore you. You give them a
- 21:59set of problems and you know I mean they're yes, yeah, you know,
- 22:04yes, yeah, two balls, a string and a paper clip and
- 22:07you know, a rubber band next thing. You know, they're high as
- 22:10a kite because all I mean, because like nature, stoners find a way.
- 22:15Yes, yeah, I want, I want to look at it.
- 22:21Can we look up? Can we look it up? Paper roll with quarter?
- 22:23Yeah? So while while one of you looks that up, let me
- 22:29let me give you an idea of some of the other things that we've discovered
- 22:33since the house sitters left. Okay, For example, we have the toilet
- 22:40paper roll with the quarter. Okay, we've also hey, I had to
- 22:42make a couple of notes here, there's a missing wine glass. Have no
- 22:48idea where that is. And it's easy to know that some of these things
- 22:52were missing because we don't have very many of them. Like we're not wine
- 22:55drinkers. We only had two wine glasses, so it's very obvious ones missing,
- 22:57so they didn't replace that. There's also a missing cereal bowl. I
- 23:02keep track of all cereal bowls in this house, and it ain't there.
- 23:06Also, we had we had told them, if you use anything, go
- 23:11for it. But just if you use up something, just replace it.
- 23:17That's all we asked, right, Yes, roommate etiquette. Roommate etiquette.
- 23:21Yeah, so what they went through and did not replace includes aluminum foil.
- 23:26Two rods by the way, Yeah, they're making So they went through all
- 23:30the aluminum foil, left the box with the tube in the box in the
- 23:36drawer without even throwing it away. Same thing with the parchment paper box.
- 23:41Same thing with our tide pods. They used all of our tide pods and
- 23:45then instead of replacing it with new tide pods, they replaced it with the
- 23:51cheap box powder stuff you find in an upside down logoed laundromat. Other things
- 23:56that they had done, they moved furniture for some reason. No idea why
- 24:00there's a box fan that that we keep in the office kind of tucked away.
- 24:03It's in the middle of the room. No idea why it's in the
- 24:06middle of the room. They didn't even bother to put it back. They
- 24:08used up almost all my hot sauces. That's almost a you know, a
- 24:12felony offense in this house without replacing them. They watched numerous plants die because
- 24:18we have plants inside so you can watch them go from green to brown.
- 24:22So they watched plants die. They also rearranged drawers, which has Tara wanting
- 24:29to hunt them down in the States because Tara is organized and she put all
- 24:32those drawers exactly how they're supposed to be. And then it's almost like they
- 24:36knew Tara did that, so they wanted to go into the tupperware drawer and
- 24:38rearrange all of it just to piss her off. Also, there's these weird
- 24:42dust rings on the glass top patio table outside and I think if you found
- 24:49the right hookah, I think their dust rings would match. It sounds that
- 24:59way because the foil, the foil and the glass pipe. I've watched enough
- 25:02intervention. Uh. They also for some reason, uh, like they removed
- 25:07a power strip and I no idea where it is to this day. And
- 25:11they also the candles that we have around the house. You know how like
- 25:15most people will buy candles from you know, uh, Bath and bodyworks,
- 25:19and then never actually burn them, or only burn them a little bit just
- 25:22to make it look like they've been used to get a nice scent in the
- 25:25room. But those candles last for years, not ours. Ours lasted about
- 25:29five weeks for these people to live here, and they burned down all of
- 25:30our goddamn candles. Maybe they're just sexy people. I don't know what to
- 25:34tell you. Maybe there's like, maybe put the put the foil hat on,
- 25:37burn some candles, let's smoke some wheat, and then you know what,
- 25:42Maybe we're sounds like you just had stoners that got high and decided they
- 25:47were gonna, you know, rearrange furniture and do various things, do a
- 25:52lot of laundry. Yeah, they did use a lot of tide pods.
- 25:56And now what I'm worried about is that they got so high off of their
- 25:59toilet paper roll bongs that they didn't actually use the type pods in the washing
- 26:03machine. I'm afraid they just straight up eate them. Yeah they did.
- 26:07Maybe they were in the type on challenge and were victorious, I guess because
- 26:11they made it off Island May at other Yeah, a little tipporary breaking bad
- 26:18in your house and had a little meth din in your house. You know,
- 26:22guys, honestly, all things are on the table here because there's no
- 26:26way to you know, confirm or deny any of these things. I've seen
- 26:32the foil thing where on in Like I said, I've watched enough intervention.
- 26:36I've seen the foil thing in the glass pipe where they put their it's the
- 26:38way to smoke heroin. I've also seen someone, a girl I went to
- 26:42high school with. We lived in the same apartment complex, and she would
- 26:45occasionally ride with me to school. She turned aluminum foil, yeah, into
- 26:53a pipe to smoke on the way to school. Yes, and she took
- 26:57the she she fashioned the aluminum foil into a pipe, and then she took
- 27:02the little screen underneath the fawcet in the sink and use that in the pipe.
- 27:07Yes, and I have seen that as well. Uh, spring break
- 27:11necessity is the mother of an invention on spring break. But yeah, I
- 27:15have you talked to your other friends about this about what happened? Not yet,
- 27:19But but it seems like we've discovered so many things now it almost seems
- 27:25like we have to say something. Yeah, or maybe they're just those people
- 27:30that are like, let's just move stuff around and see if they notice,
- 27:34Oh we noticed thing is like that that was done on purpose. It certainly
- 27:41feels like it feels very aggressively passive aggressive. Yeah, this is someone's tupperware
- 27:48drawer and completely rearrange it. Yes, And this is why I go back
- 27:53to my philosophy of why are you letting people you don't know? Okay,
- 27:59this is on you now, this is not their fault. You let them
- 28:03live in your home. Uh huh, you don't know them, No,
- 28:07you you they they they they that's their house. Now you're lucky, they're
- 28:12they're like, you're lucky they didn't start squabbing. And now you're just you're
- 28:15back in Dallas and they have your pets in your house. You know what
- 28:18rids Honestly, with everything they've done in this house and the way they left
- 28:25this house, I wish they were still squatting there when I got home,
- 28:32because keep in mind I had just gotten off a plane from Texas. I'm
- 28:40about to conserve their ass. Wow, I just I would never I had
- 28:47one time, one time, one time in La the ex wife and I
- 28:52were going to India and we're gonna be gone for a couple of weeks because
- 28:56I rerouted us through Hong Kong, through sorry, through Incock, so she
- 29:00could see her dad because they haven't seen each other in years and that's where
- 29:03he lives. And uh, it was it was one of her fellow Australians,
- 29:10didn't know her, just found her on Australians in La. I'm like,
- 29:12all right, sure, it's like, oh, this is the Aussie.
- 29:15It'll be fine. And I have a watchbox and we all know about
- 29:19my fondness for watches. I have a watch box and I watches. You
- 29:26have no idea and I have about fifteen fifteen or sixteen now, uh.
- 29:33And I left my Blue Face Movado in the watchbox. I took the other
- 29:38four whatever that I was gonna wear while I was gone. And I came
- 29:41back and I went our fault, not theirs, our fault. And she's
- 29:48like, what happened? I was like, they stole my watch? This
- 29:53is why. Sure it wasn't just like a like a rogue koala that she
- 29:57had the that's what I would call the girl that lived in that house.
- 30:02She was a brogue koala. That's what I look with a nice watch.
- 30:07Yeah, or for or or however much she pondered for. But this is
- 30:12why you don't. You don't let people live in your house. You don't
- 30:15let strangers deliver you food. What are we doing is we're getting in people's
- 30:19cars now because they have a good rating. What are you doing our whole
- 30:22lives we were told to stay out of people's cars. We really have come
- 30:27full circle, especially especially Uh, I'm especially tempted to get in somebody's car
- 30:33if they also have my food. We're listening to the Treehouse because it us
- 30:52online that Treehouse on air dot com. Okay, let's get Daniel Cook into
- 31:04the Treehouse now from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration, the phone number eight three
- 31:08three Cook DFW, the website Cook dfw dot com. Now, Daniel,
- 31:14you told me something recently. I think it's important that we share this with
- 31:17our Treehouse family. And that is not all warranties are created equal. How
- 31:22so, Dan, that's a huge deal right there. So the warranties that
- 31:26you receive from your contractor are definitely not going to be the same. Most
- 31:30people don't know this, but a contractor cannot even give you a valid warranty
- 31:34through the manufacturer unless they are certified and they are redshirt with that manufacturer.
- 31:40So sometimes you'll see guys coming out there with different products every day. They
- 31:44don't have a certain product that they are endorsed in red shirt with verify that
- 31:48they're you know, have insurance, they are accredited contractor with installation processes has
- 31:55been verified. And so those warranties that a contractor may say you get,
- 31:59you may not truly be receiving the RIDTHM when it needs it. So we
- 32:02are a Owens Corning preferred contractors, so we're able to provide a warranty that
- 32:07most contractors do not automatically. So we stand behind our installation and our product
- 32:13more than majority of the contractors out there. So that's a big, big
- 32:16difference, and so you need to verify what kind of warranty you're going to
- 32:20receive. And also on top of that, when you sell your house,
- 32:22say you're gonna sell your house in three years, is that warranty transferable?
- 32:25Our's this so you can actually tell your homeowner you're going to get another roof
- 32:30warranty more than what most people are going to get, and you're going to
- 32:34get the same coverage that that homeowner had when they bought it. Give Daniel
- 32:37Cook and his guys to call it Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration. They know
- 32:39their stuff and you get their free roof inspection eight three three Cook DFW eight
- 32:44three three Cook DFW or Cooke DFW dot com is online that treehouse flare dot
- 32:50com. All right, let's get Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing into the treehouse again.
- 32:55Their phone number two one, four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight.
- 32:59And the website which is always fun to look at, nose doc photography.
- 33:01I remember that is Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. All right, So
- 33:06what did you want to hit me with today, Jacqueline, Well, I
- 33:08was so. I know that some of your listeners are actually plumbers because they're
- 33:12friends of mine or they work with my fiance. But for those of you
- 33:15who don't know, there's three key components, three rules of life when you
- 33:19are a plumber, and the rules that we live by essentially are payday is
- 33:23every Friday. If your employer can't pay you, jump ship immediately, uh
- 33:30shi, t rolls downhill, and never eat with your hands because it's my
- 33:37pun that I like to make because of tankless water heaters. Is it's a
- 33:40tankless job, but somebody's got to do it. That's my pun. Wow,
- 33:45Wow, you know what. I think you're missing something. Hang on,
- 33:47hang on, find this for here on the fly real quick. Here.
- 33:52That was so good, I'm going to give you the end of show
- 33:59music. Good job, Want want one. Actually, it's funny. I
- 34:04think they say that puns are the lowest form of humor unless they they are
- 34:07your own. That one is mine, and then for your listeners only,
- 34:10I'll also say that, since we have that little rubber ducky, the unwritten
- 34:16slogan of the company is duck around and find out how quick we can get
- 34:21it done. Yeah, you know what. I like that one a lot.
- 34:24I think that needs to be on the side of the van. I
- 34:27would have loved to have seen that on the side of the van parked in
- 34:30front of my house a couple of weeks ago. He ducked around and found
- 34:32out, Okay, one more, one more, one more. I will
- 34:37tell I'm we are wildly Italian. All of my grandparents immigrated from Italy,
- 34:43and I can tell you on what day and on the name of what vote
- 34:45et cetera, et cetera. And so we started a like a side company
- 34:50called Godfather Plumbing, which is completely out of commission because it terrified North Texans.
- 34:54They were not ready to see this truck rolling down the highway with the
- 34:59silhouette of three men holding guns and plungers. And the tagline for that company
- 35:05was, we don't horse around with your plumbing problems because you know the horsehead
- 35:09who it was such a good idea on paper call for the plumbing, stay
- 35:20for the laughs. It's Brooks Plumber two one four three six eight thirty eight
- 35:22thirty eight. Two one four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight, or
- 35:27the website Brooks Plumbing, Texas dot com. I would have called Godfather's Plumbing,
- 35:30by the way, I would You're in book Treehouse. Visit us online
- 35:39a treehouse on air dot com. This segment of the Treehouse is brought to

- 35:53any and all of your plumbing wants and needs. All the plumbers we trust
- 35:58here in the Treehouse at Brooks Plumbing the website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com.
- 36:06So yeah, on that little break in there, I forgot to mention to
- 36:08you Trey and Raj. Yeah, the people that were house sitting slash pet
- 36:14sitting for us, Yes, they live in a van in the States the
- 36:16rest of the time. No, no, no, no, no,
- 36:19back up the story you were talking about your upstairs whoever they are. We
- 36:22have friends that have friends that live in a van, and we like these
- 36:27friends. They're young and responsible. Let meca, they're friends. No,
- 36:31no, no, no, no, let me recap the story. You
- 36:32said, these friends came to you and said because they're highly responsible friends and
- 36:37you love them. They said, hey, these are our friends. They're
- 36:43like us, and you went, oh okay, and they go instead of
- 36:47living on an island, they just live in a van and that's what they
- 36:53do. They just travel the States in a van. Okay, you're correct.
- 36:57I'll rephrase and say the exact same way that I that I that I
- 37:00told you in trying the break. Yes, So our friends who we love
- 37:02and trust, h they live on an island here right and they live they
- 37:09live on St. Thomas. And they said, hey, we have these
- 37:12friends that are like us. They're they're young, but they're very responsible,
- 37:15they're great, and they live in a van state side and travel the country.
- 37:22Okay, so except their living situation is different, that's what was told
- 37:27to us. No, no, no, that's not a living situation.
- 37:30No no, no, that's not they're living situations not different. You live
- 37:34in a house, they live in a car. That's that's a different.
- 37:38Are we talking about like an RV type van or are we talking about like
- 37:43the neck Lady van my uncle used to have, or or are these people
- 37:46solving crimes? What do they have a dog that talks? Uh? Like?
- 37:51What do we like? This is what I'm trying to figure out,
- 37:52Like did you have it was the mystery man that talk the talking dog and
- 37:57the weed? Then that that does tie? It makes sense? That makes
- 38:00sense. Ye had it been had it been Daphne and Fred living in our
- 38:05house from the van life, we would have been fine. But instead we
- 38:07got shaggy it Scooby those links. Uh yeah of course, now all of
- 38:15those Now this isn't it. This doesn't all of it make sense? Now?
- 38:19Yes, they took your tide pods? How else do you wash clothes
- 38:22when you live in a van like you're not stopping to get tide pots if
- 38:25you can steal somebody's. They needed foil to cover up the windows in the
- 38:31van. So you're saying all the stuff that turned up missing, it wasn't
- 38:36because they used it and replaced it. They just took it. Yeah,
- 38:38and they don't know how to water plants because you don't have plants in a
- 38:42van. You don't need to have plants in a van to understand to watch
- 38:47her green things when you're house sitting. Also, you know, god damn
- 38:51good, well they got at least one plant in that van. Yeah,
- 38:54yeah, that one they burned. They don't water. They burned that plant.
- 39:00And then the toilet paper roll, and the quarter now makes sense.
- 39:05It's like, hey man, we used to ball your toilet paper. We
- 39:07don't know how much it costs because we live in a van. So here's
- 39:10a quarter attached to the toilet paper roll because that's how much we believe your
- 39:15poop costs. Here you go, now all of this, But the one
- 39:20thing that you said was missing that ties all this together is the power strip
- 39:27because they probably had they probably set up a grow house for five weeks and
- 39:32they literally like they grew their supply for a year. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:37your house. That's why they flowed the windows that they had the hydroponics going
- 39:40on power supply. When you get your energy bill, if it's through the
- 39:44roof, yeah, exactly what happened. So that's the other thing I didn't
- 39:49tell you. I'm certain that the energy bill is going to be through the
- 39:52roof because one of the first things we noticed we got back, besides the
- 39:57TP roll with the quarter stuck in it, is the water dripping down in
- 40:01our What's basically it's it's like an open air basement, So the water dripping
- 40:07down underneath the house clearly had been doing so for a long time to the
- 40:15weed plants moist. Well, what I'm pretty sure they were doing is they
- 40:22were running the air conditioning so much and so cold, they clogged the main
- 40:27drain line. So water was backflowing into the unit area and then into the
- 40:32concrete floor and then so heavily it was soaked up so heavily it was then
- 40:38seeping through the concrete, dripping into the driveway. Yeah. I don't know.
- 40:44I think that the colder climate makes for a stronger strain. So let's
- 40:49just see what the market does in the us after this trip. Let's see
- 40:52if like there's a new strain called O'Malley cush. It's gonna be O'Malley's house
- 41:01once in a lifetime strain. Yeah, Omaldy's House tie pod strain. That's
- 41:08gonna be the best weed ever ever. Was gonna talk about it all for
- 41:12a quarter. Everybody on the scene's gonna be like, dude, these guys
- 41:16in a van rolled up and just gave us some Omaley cush, best weed
- 41:20ever so cold? Uh tastes like dead plant. Yeah, this this makes
- 41:24all the sense. None of none of any of this should surprise you.
- 41:30So on one hand, I'm glad that I feel like we have a plausible
- 41:32theory it's what happened. But I'm mad now because I feel stupid, but
- 41:45also because i feel stupid in that I'm not getting it cut of any of
- 41:47my own cush. They did it leave me leave you a sample? No,
- 41:54they should. They should have left just the just the toilet paper roll
- 41:58with a quarter in it to put, Hey, you for the toilet paper,
- 42:00because that's how much they think it costs, and then just a little
- 42:02nugget right next to it, as any man, thank you so much.
- 42:06And then thank you so much for letting us profit off of your home.
- 42:10I love it. Okay, this makes so much more sense. I thought
- 42:13you're just letting random strangers live in your house, but they probably I should
- 42:17have left you so and just said, hey, you can make some good
- 42:20brownies with this. But hey, you need to go to the store and
- 42:22buy some foil. You'll need parchment paper for the bread. You both you
- 42:34write in the asses eyes and nose, you in both ears at the same
- 42:43time. Ps your tide pods are out, and you both for being right
