22:45
SPEAKER_06: Oh, I love that.
22:46
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
22:46
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
22:47
SPEAKER_05: Uh but anyway, we've got all kinds of stuff coming up.
22:49
SPEAKER_05: We've got some new stuff.
22:50
SPEAKER_05: I've got stuff ordered, the new bling and stuff.
22:53
SPEAKER_05: Uh before you leave today, it's swag.
22:55
SPEAKER_05: Swag, yeah.
22:56
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
22:56
SPEAKER_05: Some of it's blingy.
22:57
SPEAKER_06: Is it blingy?
22:58
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
22:59
SPEAKER_05: Uh but today I want you to, before you leave, help me design the coffee mug and we'll get those uh placed as well.
23:05
SPEAKER_06: Very cool.
23:05
SPEAKER_05: Um but yeah, I mean I'm very excited about what we got going in the fo future.
23:09
SPEAKER_05: We have a new um, and I'm not quite sure if she's an account representative that she's gonna be out uh promoting our web uh our us, our show, and the other shows that I have within our West Concept.
23:22
SPEAKER_05: And and I don't know if selling is the right word, but gaining sponsorships.
23:27
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
23:27
SPEAKER_06: So putting us out there into the world.
23:30
SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
23:30
SPEAKER_05: Um and we've had I've had a lot of sponsors in the past.
23:33
SPEAKER_05: I just kind of I got I got hurt.
23:36
SPEAKER_05: Not hurt, but I started having injuries or problems with my first it was my hip, and now it's my back, and so I kind of fell off.
23:44
SPEAKER_05: But I met this lovely lady who was actually a guest on here at one point, uh Lisa, and she's gonna start uh going out for us and giving us some sponsorships.
23:55

SPEAKER_05: If you have suggestions, man, Ren and I are always open for suggestions.
24:05
SPEAKER_06: We are, yeah.
24:06
SPEAKER_06: We'll think of something eventually, but we I like to I like the challenge of getting a suggestion and then trying to do something.
24:13
SPEAKER_06: Trying to engineer it.
24:14
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
24:14
SPEAKER_05: We're still working on Valerie's uh what's your walk-up song?

24:24
SPEAKER_05: I don't even want to I don't want to even uh talk about them.
24:27
SPEAKER_05: Don't even hint at them.
24:28
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
24:29
SPEAKER_05: So if you have a w a song that pumps you up, you got something that you don't like to do, but you play this song and you're ready to get out of it.
24:38
SPEAKER_05: Anyway, all of that, um and uh Ren and all I can say is Ren's back.
24:45
SPEAKER_06: The bitch is back, as Elton John put it.
24:49
SPEAKER_05: You know, I would never say that.
24:50
SPEAKER_06: No, I know.
24:51
SPEAKER_05: Unless I was talking about a dog.
24:54
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, no, I would.
24:56
SPEAKER_06: That's one of my favorite swear words that you can get away with saying on the radio.
25:00
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
25:00
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
25:01
SPEAKER_06: I love it because I say it lovingly.
25:03
SPEAKER_06: Because I don't know.
25:04
SPEAKER_06: It's funny.
25:05
SPEAKER_06: It's such a funny word because half of the time people say it and they mean somebody wimpy.
25:10
SPEAKER_06: Like, don't be a bitch.
25:11
SPEAKER_06: But then the other half of the time, it's somebody who's really strong and tough.
25:14
SPEAKER_06: Exactly.
25:15
SPEAKER_06: So I don't know.
25:15
SPEAKER_06: It it it holds multitudes.
25:17
SPEAKER_05: Well, listen, before the show's over, you gotta you've gotta remind me to tell you about a song that Kenneth picked out.
25:23
SPEAKER_05: Well, it's talking about swearing.
25:25
SPEAKER_05: I j you just remind me.
25:27
SPEAKER_05: It's a great story.
25:28
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
25:30
SPEAKER_06: Alright, um, I got a song for uh uh this is by a very authentic lady, known for her unique voice and and singing abilities, Miss Nina Simone, and I believe this is a cover of the Animals Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, which I thought was a really cool crossover.
25:49
SPEAKER_06: So, um I'm gonna play.
25:51
SPEAKER_05: Lay it lay it upon me.
25:52
SPEAKER_06: Here we go.
25:54
SPEAKER_05: Who's the artist again?
25:55
SPEAKER_10: Nina Simone.
25:56
SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah, I love this woman.
25:58
SPEAKER_10: Baby, you understand me now.
26:04
SPEAKER_10: If sometimes you see that I'm mad.
26:10
SPEAKER_10: Don't you know no one alive can always be an angel.
26:17
SPEAKER_10: When everything goes wrong, you see some bad.
26:30
SPEAKER_10: Please don't let me be out with you.
28:26
SPEAKER_10: I travel so hard, so please don't let me be stood.
28:35
SPEAKER_00: Too much of a good thing?
28:37
SPEAKER_00: Hardly.
28:38
SPEAKER_02: More of the wake-up call is coming up Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine.
29:47

29:53
SPEAKER_02: H stone means my own they belong to me.
35:10
SPEAKER_05: Oh man, I love that song, but I didn't that was unrecognizable for me until she started spelling that out.
35:17

37:50
SPEAKER_06: Yes, and and joke guy.
37:52
SPEAKER_05: Alright, some men don't wear their wedding bands because it cuts off circulation.
37:58
SPEAKER_06: Okay.
37:59
SPEAKER_05: Well, that's the point, isn't it?
38:02
SPEAKER_06: I'm not sure.
38:07
SPEAKER_05: In other words, the woman's got a hold on you.
38:09
SPEAKER_06: Yes.
38:09
SPEAKER_05: Cutting off your circulation.
38:11
SPEAKER_06: Well.
38:11
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it it's it wasn't.
38:13
SPEAKER_06: It's not my favorite.
38:14
SPEAKER_06: I don't like the gee, I sure hate my wife type of humor.
38:18
SPEAKER_06: It's like you married her, shouldn't you love her?
38:19
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I don't get that either.
38:21
SPEAKER_05: Um advice to husbands.
38:24
SPEAKER_05: Here we go.
38:24
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
38:25
SPEAKER_05: Try praising your wife now and then, even if it starts even if it does start startle her at first.
38:33
SPEAKER_06: Okay.
38:34
SPEAKER_06: Because he hates his wife, so he wouldn't compliment her.
38:40
SPEAKER_05: You know what?
38:41
SPEAKER_05: If if you if you if you hate your wife And I'm not trying to give relationship advice, but get out.
38:47
SPEAKER_05: I agree.
38:48
SPEAKER_05: Leave her the hell alone.
38:49
SPEAKER_06: But then part of me thinks that that style of humor is very popular with a certain demographic of people that came from a generation where they very well could have been forced into m marriages that they weren't particularly excited about because of societal pressure.
39:08
SPEAKER_06: That's that's my theory because a lot of people of my generation we we make it a big deal that like you don't have to ever get married if you don't want to, but if you do get married, make sure you actually like that person and are friends with them.
39:21
SPEAKER_06: So for somebody my age, the like, gee, the old ball and chain over here, I sure hate my wife, I sure hate my husband humor.
39:28
SPEAKER_06: Like, it just doesn't track with me.
39:30
SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't know that um well I don't know that they use the word hate, but uh ball and chain is used a lot.
39:37
SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
39:37
SPEAKER_05: And so yeah, I don't I I I don't yeah, I would my bit of advice get out and get out.
39:45
SPEAKER_05: And here's the deal.
39:46
SPEAKER_05: If you're dating somebody and you're thinking about marriage, I'll give you this bit of advice where you and Derek, but you and Derek have been around together so long, it's a little different.
39:53
SPEAKER_05: Ten years.
39:54
SPEAKER_05: But if there's if there's something small that bothers you about him, or this let's talk about somebody else, because I know you guys are pretty well set.
40:02
SPEAKER_05: So if something about a person that you're dating bothers you, and you get think about ten years from now, and you're thinking right now, well, I'm just putting up with that.
40:11
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, I'll just deal with it.
40:12
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but you're gonna have ten years from now, once you're together that link to it is like a boulder uh like the the pr the the print the princess and the pea and the bed, it becomes more than just a pee, or it maybe just a pea, but now it'd be it's very, very irritating.
40:28
SPEAKER_06: You'll feel it if you if it bothers you now, it's still probably gonna bother you in the future.
40:33
SPEAKER_05: Even more.
40:35
SPEAKER_06: And it's one of those things, it gives you an opportunity to grow together.
40:37
SPEAKER_06: Maybe you could bring it up in a conversation, be like, hey, when you do this, it makes me feel this way.
40:42
SPEAKER_05: Well, you should have open conversation with your uh significant other all the time.
40:47
SPEAKER_05: You and I do it, and we uh have times you're not my significant other.
40:51
SPEAKER_05: Well, excuse me, you're my significant broadcast other.
40:54
SPEAKER_05: Yes, there you go.
40:55
SPEAKER_05: Uh well, it's more than just the podcast.
40:58
SPEAKER_05: But anyway, um open communication.
41:01
SPEAKER_05: I can tell you I don't like something, and we can say there's very little I don't I can't think of anything wrong with the bat that I disagree with you about.
41:08
SPEAKER_05: But I can say to you, well, we're just gonna have to agree to disagree.
41:11
SPEAKER_05: And that's be authentic.
41:14
SPEAKER_06: Be auth uh be authentic.
41:15
SPEAKER_05: There you go.
41:17
SPEAKER_06: I like the word you were coming up with.
41:19
SPEAKER_06: Authentic.
41:21
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, well, um what's the there's a joke in there too, but I can't remember what you're doing.
41:26
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, if you think of a joke, write us.
41:28
SPEAKER_05: All right, here we go.
41:29
SPEAKER_05: Did you hear about the shepherd who drove his sheep through town?
41:32
SPEAKER_05: No! Oh my god, he was given a ticket for making a U-turn.
41:37
SPEAKER_06: Ah now that's my kind of humor.
41:41
SPEAKER_06: There we go.
41:41
SPEAKER_06: There we go.
41:42
SPEAKER_05: Pretty cheesy.
41:43
SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
41:43
SPEAKER_06: It's it's it's I I love a I love a good w play on words, a good pun joke.
41:49
SPEAKER_06: Even if they make other people groan.
41:51
SPEAKER_05: Next week, I think it's next week, uh, you're gonna be out in the raft, and we're gonna be doing a show live from the raft.
41:59
SPEAKER_05: But we'll also be sitting, I'm gonna be you're gonna be on the raft.
42:01
SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna be sitting at Desert River Guides uh downtown Farmington, an old, old downtown Farmington.
42:07
SPEAKER_05: And I've got we're gonna take in the speakers and we're gonna fill the neighborhood up with music.
42:12
SPEAKER_05: Beautiful.
42:13
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we're gonna have a good time.
42:14
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I'll have to I'll have to plan a playlist for like river songs or something.
42:18
SPEAKER_06: I've done that in the past, but there's gotta be more river songs.
42:21
SPEAKER_05: Well, let me just tell you, that show that we did with her has been I d it's been deleted because we couldn't hear her.
42:27
SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
42:28
SPEAKER_05: So we can use all those songs that you use.
42:30
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, those can all come back.
42:31
SPEAKER_05: Because those were great.
42:33
SPEAKER_06: Recycle.
42:34
SPEAKER_06: We're gonna be good to the environment and recycle my playlist.
42:38
SPEAKER_05: We're we're we we shredded the old show and turning it into a recycle.
42:44
SPEAKER_06: Yeah, a recycled show.
42:45
SPEAKER_06: And and none of the our lovely listeners will be the wiser.
42:49
SPEAKER_06: There you go.
42:49

42:50
SPEAKER_06: Unless they're like remember the old show.

SPEAKER_05: Well, they're they're just great folks.

43:03
SPEAKER_05: Just he's they're good people.
43:04
SPEAKER_05: They're really good people.
43:06
SPEAKER_05: And it's nice to have them in our community.
43:09
SPEAKER_05: The big thing that they do too is they clean out the they are constantly and they have Arthur who's been on our show, the guy that plays the ukulele, and he's got a couple of albums out.
43:20
SPEAKER_05: Um, but they go out and get tired, they get all the garbage out of the river.
43:25
SPEAKER_05: And and I they take pictures and they've got piles of it it's a it's embarrassing what people what human beings are doing to our beautiful planet.
43:37
SPEAKER_06: And we only got one, so we we should take better care of it.
43:40
SPEAKER_06: So I'm glad that they're doing their part.
43:43
SPEAKER_05: Alright, a small son was sitting on his daddy's lap.
43:46
SPEAKER_05: I'm still confused.
43:47
SPEAKER_05: Was I born in a nest or in a hive?
43:52
SPEAKER_06: Oh, because of the birds and the bees.
43:56
SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's cute.
43:57
SPEAKER_05: No, that's cute.
43:58
SPEAKER_05: That's funny.
43:58
SPEAKER_05: National Joke Day.
44:00
SPEAKER_06: National Joke Day, also National Authenticity Day, and we're playing artists who are pretty authentic in how they portray themselves at the very least.
44:09
SPEAKER_06: Um, I had to try really hard to not play Lady Gaga's song because we play her a lot and talk about how much we love her.
44:16
SPEAKER_06: So and so I broadened my horizons a little bit.
44:19
SPEAKER_06: This next song is by a very authentic, very like powerhouse lady who I didn't know was a musician.
44:26
SPEAKER_06: I thought she was just like an actress and a model.
44:28
SPEAKER_05: Oh, I didn't either.
44:29
SPEAKER_06: A villainess as you described her.
44:31
SPEAKER_06: Um Grace Jones.
44:33
SPEAKER_06: And this is this is a fun song.
44:35
SPEAKER_06: This is Pull Up to the Bumper.
44:36
SPEAKER_06: So if you hear honking sounds, it's the song.
44:38
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, this is a powerful woman.
44:41
SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
45:13
SPEAKER_12: I be down those city streets.
45:16
SPEAKER_12: Wait, forget down.
45:21
SPEAKER_12: Won't you reach your bigger tree?
45:25
SPEAKER_12: Somewhere in this town.
45:30
SPEAKER_12: Now we're gonna pop the bottom of the face.
45:35
SPEAKER_12: On the ball of the face.
45:39
SPEAKER_12: Hold up to the baba baby.
45:42
SPEAKER_12: And you don't have real seed.
45:48
SPEAKER_12: Hold on, child baby.
45:51
SPEAKER_12: Right in the wheel.
46:01

49:53
SPEAKER_03: Are we moving to slow?
49:56
SPEAKER_03: Have you seen us?
50:03
SPEAKER_03: We look pretty shy with nice clothes.
50:07
SPEAKER_03: Yes, we do.
50:09
SPEAKER_03: Unless we get sprayed with a nose.
50:24
SPEAKER_03: When it's frozen, and it's hard if it gets on your heart, we all have a certain amount of Zen.
52:17
SPEAKER_01: Wren has it oozing out of her fingers and toes, and as the shell winds down, here.
52:28
SPEAKER_06: Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect self to the world.
52:35
SPEAKER_06: Our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self.
53:56
SPEAKER_05: I'm excited for him.
53:57
SPEAKER_05: I'll be glad to see the dungeons.
54:05
SPEAKER_05: Uh W U C.
54:07
SPEAKER_05: And my Wookiee friend is with me.

SPEAKER_06: And my Wookiee buddy.
54:12
SPEAKER_06: There we go.
54:14
SPEAKER_06: Okay, real quick too, because I almost forgot to say it.
54:20
SPEAKER_06: Who I think is a pretty, pretty out there dude and was not afraid, but authentically out there.
54:26
SPEAKER_06: And this final song is by another like punk rock legend, Iggy Pop, a chaotic set source of authenticity.
54:35
SPEAKER_05: Love me some pop, mainly Iggy.
54:37
SPEAKER_05: Iggy, I mean.
54:38
SPEAKER_06: This is the passenger.
54:40
SPEAKER_06: Bye bye, everybody.
54:42
SPEAKER_06: Glad to have you by.
54:43
SPEAKER_06: Love you too.
58:08

59:12
SPEAKER_01: Over already?

SPEAKER_01: No need to panic.
59:14
SPEAKER_01: Ren and David will be back next week.

59:24
SPEAKER_01: For K SJ E and W C, I'm Zeb McCluskey.
59:28
SPEAKER_01: And until next time.
59:30
SPEAKER_01: Excellent.
59:31
SPEAKER_01: Do each other.
59:32
SPEAKER_14: Oh, anyway, you're cleaner in the way.
