- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The rex was
- 0:06Speaker 2: not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there. You love sandwiches. Huh,
- 0:11Speaker 2: Let's go to uh eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 1: He is bo wow that Prime Time. Maybe I had
- 0:18Speaker 1: a crush on Betty Rubbell.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 3: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 1: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 1: the game. You're listening just to Gotson Company.
- 0:32Speaker 3: It is to Goats and Company, presented by fan Duel
- 0:34Speaker 3: and the FanDuel Sports Book. Ause we head into fourth
- 0:37Speaker 3: of July weekend, it's just me and Taylor. Is he
- 0:40Speaker 3: and Mikey a off enjoying the holiday and it is
- 0:43Speaker 3: just me and Taylor. We're headed out to Tahoe next week.
- 0:45Speaker 3: We're excited about that. We're also excited about the Lebron
- 0:49Speaker 3: James sweep steaks. Right now, what is going on? There's
- 0:51Speaker 3: a whiteboard involved on toll Taylor. What is happening with
- 0:54Speaker 3: a whiteboard?
- 0:55Speaker 4: Yeah, So Rich Paul on his podcast Game Over with
- 0:58Speaker 4: Max Kellerman, tell you what Rich Paul knows how to
- 1:02Speaker 4: do theatrics because he rolled out a whiteboard with Max
- 1:06Speaker 4: and the whiteboard just had realistic Lebron suitors.
- 1:11Speaker 5: It says, to paint.
- 1:12Speaker 4: The picture of what this whiteboard looks like, it says
- 1:15Speaker 4: Lebron in the middle, and then stemming out from the
- 1:18Speaker 4: word Lebron in a circle, it's it's the other four
- 1:22Speaker 4: starting fours from a bunch of contenders. So it's the
- 1:27Speaker 4: heat starting for plus Lebron, the Timberwolf, starting for plus Lebron,
- 1:32Speaker 4: the Calves, the Nuggets, and then the seventy six ers.
- 1:35Speaker 4: And then on the outside of all those those are
- 1:38Speaker 4: I would presume, presume the most likely.
- 1:41Speaker 3: And then on the other side, wait, wait, wait, hold on,
- 1:43Speaker 3: give me that first layer again, give me the first
- 1:45Speaker 3: layer again.
- 1:46Speaker 4: It's the heat starting for the Timberwolf, starting for the Calves,
- 1:50Speaker 4: the Nuggets, and then the seventy six ers.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Okay, so those are like the top five essentially, And
- 1:55Speaker 3: what Rich Paul is doing like a sports radio host,
- 1:58Speaker 3: and I'm proud of him for doing it like this.
- 2:00Speaker 3: He is filled in that fifth spot with Lebron and
- 2:02Speaker 3: seeing where it looks, which one looks the best, right.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Correct, And then on the outside of that circle, that
- 2:09Speaker 4: ring So.
- 2:09Speaker 1: This is outside looking in. How about that?
- 2:12Speaker 4: Yeah, on the outside, it just says some keywords like Mavericks, Spurs, Nicks,
- 2:18Speaker 4: Brad Stevens plus Jason Tatum, Steph and Draymond. So I'm
- 2:23Speaker 4: not even sure if that inside ring is the five
- 2:25Speaker 4: most likely because you would presume that, you would presume
- 2:30Speaker 4: the Warriors are much higher. I just don't think Rich
- 2:34Speaker 4: Paul knows who the other starters would be. He's just like,
- 2:37Speaker 4: we know they got Steph, we know they got Draymond,
- 2:39Speaker 4: they would have Lebron, We'll figure out the rest.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Right and poor zingis but he's portant for you know,
- 2:44Speaker 3: half the games. It's a fluid situation, is what he's
- 2:47Speaker 3: trying to tell you. So what did he do with
- 2:48Speaker 3: the Celtics here? He just did Stevens plus Tatum equals
- 2:52Speaker 3: Lebron essentially.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Yeah, it just says Brad Stevens and Jason Tatum, No,
- 2:57Speaker 4: no mention of Mitchell Robinson.
- 2:59Speaker 3: But they left out Bayton Brichard, who's supposed to be
- 3:01Speaker 3: the next Jalen Brunson. And they left at that Hugo
- 3:03Speaker 3: Gonzales guy who better be the next Bob Coosey.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I think it's because like when when you get Lebron,
- 3:11Speaker 4: Like Yaxel Lendenberg on the Warriors right now is thinking, man,
- 3:15Speaker 4: it would be awesome if we got Lebron James, and
- 3:17Speaker 4: then Lebron gets there and he goes, Yaxel, I hate
- 3:20Speaker 4: to tell you this, you're not part of these plants,
- 3:26Speaker 4: or you.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Were the starting three and now you're not. You're coming
- 3:30Speaker 3: off the bench.
- 3:32Speaker 4: It's so weird though, looking at this list of teams,
- 3:34Speaker 4: because the Timberwolves make sense because it seems like the
- 3:38Speaker 4: Timberwolves are that piece away from elevating to being a
- 3:42Speaker 4: serious title contender. But I can't really see Lebron going
- 3:46Speaker 4: to Minnesota because it feels like he would almost have
- 3:48Speaker 4: to be like Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball's babysitter.
- 3:52Speaker 3: You're right, Plus it's Minnesota. Yeah, Like I think we
- 3:56Speaker 3: have to factor in geography here, So would be LaMelo Ball,
- 4:00Speaker 3: it'd be Rudy Gobert, it'd be Anthony Edwards and Lebron James.
- 4:04Speaker 3: M McDaniels, right, Yeah, I mean that's a pretty good
- 4:07Speaker 3: starting five. But again, Lebron at this advanced age is
- 4:10Speaker 3: not you know, he doesn't want a babysit, and there
- 4:12Speaker 3: are like three guys on that roster, just on the
- 4:15Speaker 3: starting five alone, LaMelo ball Go Baar in particular, in
- 4:18Speaker 3: which he has to babysit those guys.
- 4:20Speaker 4: It seems like the one consistent trend is when you
- 4:23Speaker 4: read off four starters and then you say Lebron the
- 4:28Speaker 4: next sentences, that would be a pretty good starting five.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Okay, let's try it.
- 4:34Speaker 5: Like, let me do the Nuggets for example.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Okay, do the Nuggets, Jamal Murray, right, Cam Johnson, Lebron,
- 4:43Speaker 4: Aaron Gordon, Napole Jokic.
- 4:46Speaker 1: All right.
- 4:46Speaker 3: The way you need to do this is give me
- 4:48Speaker 3: the four and then insert Lebron. Okay, all right, but
- 4:51Speaker 3: that's so we're past the Nuggets that I get it.
- 4:53Speaker 3: That's a pretty good option for Lebron James. All right,
- 4:56Speaker 3: who's the next option? Of those five teams he had
- 4:58Speaker 3: circling around Lebron, which is ridiculous.
- 5:00Speaker 1: He did it on a whiteboard. I'm so happy.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Davion Mitchell, Andrew Wiggins, Jannis bam Adebaio, Lebron James.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Not bad. But they're out. I'm telling you right now.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Heat are out. Yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I just I don't see it, do you see it?
- 5:17Speaker 3: I mean, that's a good starting five. I'm not saying
- 5:19Speaker 3: it's not a starting five that couldn't make it to
- 5:22Speaker 3: the NBA Finals.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I just I don't know.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Man, Miami, that's how he's gonna land the land the plane.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I don't, I don't see it.
- 5:29Speaker 4: I just if you swapped Miami's uniforms with Minnesota's uniforms,
- 5:34Speaker 4: I don't even think we would be talking about Miami,
- 5:36Speaker 4: same players, same players.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yeah, and what are you saying here, if if, if we,
- 5:43Speaker 3: if we moved Miami's team to Minnesota and Minnesota's team
- 5:46Speaker 3: to Miami, I don't even think we would be considering
- 5:49Speaker 3: the heat. You're right, yeah, now in Minnesota, Yes, yeah,
- 5:53Speaker 3: well I consider Minnesota's players in Miami, Yes, exactly.
- 5:57Speaker 1: He'd be willing to babysit in Miami.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Yes, it's it's babysitting plus being in Minnesota that is
- 6:06Speaker 3: really hampering their chances of getting Lebron.
- 6:11Speaker 1: You're right about that. That's funny.
- 6:14Speaker 4: The other starting fives are Donovan, Mitchell, James Harden, Evan Mobley,
- 6:20Speaker 4: Jared Allen, Lebron.
- 6:21Speaker 1: James in the East.
- 6:27Speaker 4: It makes sense because you're finishing your career where it started,
- 6:30Speaker 4: but at the same time, you can't convince me that
- 6:33Speaker 4: Lebron wants to spend his last year's playing basketball with
- 6:36Speaker 4: James Harden, who he's not a winning player.
- 6:39Speaker 3: There are James Harden trade away from having a chance
- 6:42Speaker 3: of getting Lebron.
- 6:43Speaker 1: James, I am totally with you on this. I'm not certain.
- 6:49Speaker 3: I mean, you hear all the stories about the you know,
- 6:51Speaker 3: the camera crew, the documentary him documenting all of this
- 6:55Speaker 3: his final couple of seasons here it seems like the
- 6:57Speaker 3: story book finish to go back to Cleveland and where
- 7:00Speaker 3: you started, where you're from.
- 7:02Speaker 1: But I'm with you. James Harden's getting in the way. Yes.
- 7:05Speaker 4: And then the final team in this circle, and why
- 7:07Speaker 4: this situation feels so fluid. The Sixers didn't have Jalen
- 7:11Speaker 4: Brown a couple of days ago, and now theoretically since
- 7:15Speaker 4: adding Jalen Brown there, they're vaulting their way up to
- 7:18Speaker 4: the top of this list of contender teams.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It's what I told you yesterday.
- 7:22Speaker 3: It's why there are a number of reasons that trading
- 7:26Speaker 3: Jalen Brown to the Sixers was head scratching from the
- 7:29Speaker 3: Celtics standpoint, inside the division, inside the conference. You made
- 7:32Speaker 3: the team already beat you Betteth and you, but you
- 7:35Speaker 3: also gave them a chance of getting Lebron James, and
- 7:38Speaker 3: you took yourself out of Lebron's sweepstakes. Although Brad Stevens
- 7:42Speaker 3: plus Jadams Jason Datum, he pulls Lebron James, so they're
- 7:47Speaker 3: on the outside looking in. But before that trade, I
- 7:49Speaker 3: feel like they had a much better shot. They would
- 7:51Speaker 3: have been one of those five teams. And now Philly
- 7:54Speaker 3: is and so that's part of the reason as to
- 7:56Speaker 3: why that deal was so head scratching. Philadelphia seems like
- 7:59Speaker 3: a great an option to me, It really does.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Yeah, the only worry I think you have with Philadelphia
- 8:06Speaker 4: is just how many personalities you have coming in Where
- 8:10Speaker 4: Jalen Brown rumored wanted to have his own team and
- 8:14Speaker 4: now he's going to a spot in Philadelphia where you
- 8:16Speaker 4: have an established player like Joel Embiid who has his
- 8:19Speaker 4: injury concerns, you have Tyrese Maxie, and then you're you're
- 8:22Speaker 4: adding Lebron James to that. I think the most interesting
- 8:25Speaker 4: development today has been it now seems like the Warriors,
- 8:30Speaker 4: who when Lebron announced that he wasn't going to return
- 8:34Speaker 4: to La it seemed like the Warriors were in pole position,
- 8:38Speaker 4: the front runners to get him. They were the betting
- 8:39Speaker 4: favorite to get him. And now you're listening to Anthony Slater,
- 8:42Speaker 4: who's the Warriors ESPN reporter. He said he's hearing a
- 8:46Speaker 4: growing belief from the Warriors that they don't necessarily believe
- 8:50Speaker 4: that they're at the top of the short list. And
- 8:52Speaker 4: chams on Get Up this morning said, the big domino
- 8:55Speaker 4: with the Warriors is trying to get a player like
- 8:57Speaker 4: Anthony Davis. You can bring in Lebron James and Anthony
- 9:00Speaker 4: Davis as a package deal. Short of that, they're not
- 9:03Speaker 4: really looked at right now at the top of this list, right.
- 9:06Speaker 1: And it makes sense.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I mean, you know, listen, if you get to finish
- 9:09Speaker 3: it off and winning as a priority, you don't just
- 9:11Speaker 3: go play with your friends. And so that's why the
- 9:13Speaker 3: Jalen Brown trade was so important. It put Philadelphia, who
- 9:16Speaker 3: was not in the conversation. It it vaulted them into
- 9:20Speaker 3: the conversation. And Anthony Davis ain't going the Golden State
- 9:23Speaker 3: because Washington has closed the door on that unless someone
- 9:25Speaker 3: can figure something out. And I'm with you, like, Golden
- 9:28Speaker 3: State's not getting Lebron James, although it would have been
- 9:30Speaker 3: fun to see Lebron in step play again.
- 9:32Speaker 4: And when we're talking about starting for we're starting Force
- 9:36Speaker 4: plus Lebron. Yes, Stu, you still can't convince me that Brunson, Lebron,
- 9:43Speaker 4: mckel Bridges, og Ananobi, Karl, Anthony Towns doesn't make the
- 9:48Speaker 4: most sense from trying to get to a team that's
- 9:51Speaker 4: that's contender status.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You read my mind. I am telling you right now.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I know that we're happy.
- 9:58Speaker 3: That we wanted an NBA Josh is sitting right, He's
- 10:01Speaker 3: the guy coming off the bench if Lebron comes there.
- 10:03Speaker 5: He's coming off the bench.
- 10:04Speaker 4: But I think you pitch it at Josh Hart saying
- 10:07Speaker 4: Lebron's forty one years old. Yeah, he's not going to
- 10:10Speaker 4: be playing a ton of minutes. We're gonna be trying
- 10:12Speaker 4: to keep him as fresh as possible for this playoff run.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Yes, and we'll try to keep o g fresh, and
- 10:17Speaker 3: we'll try to keep mckel bridges fresh because we're coming
- 10:19Speaker 3: off a championship season. He'll get some starts essentially, is
- 10:22Speaker 3: what you're saying, right correct. Okay, so listen, I know
- 10:26Speaker 3: we're happy. I know we won an NBA championship. I
- 10:31Speaker 3: know if I go the rest of my lifetime without
- 10:33Speaker 3: winning another.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I'm good. That was then, this is now. I'm selfish.
- 10:39Speaker 3: I waited so long to get that title, and that
- 10:42Speaker 3: title felt so good. And the Knicks are inside a
- 10:44Speaker 3: championship window here where the Eastern Conference and the NBA
- 10:48Speaker 3: is wide open. Philadelphia is an improved team, Cleveland gonna
- 10:52Speaker 3: be decent, Indiana gets Halliburton back. I am telling you
- 10:56Speaker 3: right now, I am no longer okay five with just
- 11:00Speaker 3: one NBA title. That fucking thing felt so good. I
- 11:04Speaker 3: want to win like five of them. I'm not joking.
- 11:07Speaker 3: And this is a situation where I feel like the
- 11:09Speaker 3: Knicks have to put the full court press on Lebron,
- 11:12Speaker 3: that they give him the best option of winning an
- 11:15Speaker 3: NBA title and what it feels like to win an
- 11:18Speaker 3: NBA title in that building, for that fan base, for
- 11:21Speaker 3: that city. They need to start selling Lebron on that.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Otherwise my fear is he's going to go to Philadelphia
- 11:27Speaker 3: and he's going to tear our hearts out. That is
- 11:29Speaker 3: the best, absolute best, And here's the best.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Part about it. Lebron needs us.
- 11:35Speaker 3: We don't need Lebron, and so that makes me feel
- 11:38Speaker 3: better about going out and getting Lebron and I think
- 11:41Speaker 3: guys like Brunch, Bruntset, and og who respect the game,
- 11:44Speaker 3: the history of the game, or respect Lebron James, they
- 11:47Speaker 3: would love to get Lebron a fifth title.
- 11:49Speaker 1: They would love it Stu.
- 11:51Speaker 4: In this podcast with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul, Rich
- 11:54Speaker 4: Paul expanded on the Knicks, and this was his exact
- 11:57Speaker 4: quote about the Knicks. Nicks hadn't won a title, there
- 12:02Speaker 4: would be no board. He'd be going to the Knicks. Oh,
- 12:06Speaker 4: Jalen Brunson would literally have to pick up the phone
- 12:08Speaker 4: and say, hey man, there's no issue with me. The
- 12:11Speaker 4: Knicks have checked in. That's what he said.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Wow, Okay, I hope it's just Brunton making the decisions,
- 12:18Speaker 3: don't you. I mean, because Philadelphia had the running by
- 12:20Speaker 3: Jalen Brown, he said.
- 12:22Speaker 5: He's okay with it.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Where Jalen Brown has been there for a minute in
- 12:26Speaker 3: Philadelphia and he had to okay them going after Lebron James,
- 12:30Speaker 3: which is laugh out loud funny. Lebron James is gonna
- 12:33Speaker 3: average more points than Jalen Brown if he comes there.
- 12:35Speaker 4: I mean, I also want to say it's easy for
- 12:37Speaker 4: Rich Paul to say, now if the Knicks hadn't want
- 12:39Speaker 4: a title, there'd be no board. He'd be going to
- 12:41Speaker 4: the Knicks, because it's it's hard to believe Lebron would
- 12:45Speaker 4: have picked the one team that he's never picked before
- 12:49Speaker 4: and never seemed up for that challenge. And then when
- 12:52Speaker 4: Rich Paul is saying, Jalen Brunson would literally have to
- 12:55Speaker 4: pick up the phone and say, hey man, there's no
- 12:57Speaker 4: issue with me. I think Jalen Brunson makes that call.
- 13:00Speaker 4: To your point of Jalen Brunton understanding that Lebron James
- 13:04Speaker 4: on a VET minimum contract is a significant improvement over
- 13:08Speaker 4: anybody else that you could bring into this team on
- 13:11Speaker 4: a VET minimum contract. But if Jaln Brunson makes that call,
- 13:14Speaker 4: it's it's to give his blessing, not make a pitch.
- 13:17Speaker 4: If Brunson has to convince Lebron on why he has
- 13:21Speaker 4: to come to New York, Lebron could kick Rocks, the
- 13:23Speaker 4: guy who finally delivered the city a title after stars
- 13:27Speaker 4: like Lebron James passed up the opportunity time and time again.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Jalen Brunson doesn't have to sell anybody on why they
- 13:33Speaker 4: should be a Nick.
- 13:35Speaker 3: It's such a great point. This is a different phone call.
- 13:37Speaker 3: This is Brunson calling Lebron and saying, not saying, hey,
- 13:41Speaker 3: we need you, come save us, come win us the title.
- 13:44Speaker 3: It's hey, let me help you win a title. Let
- 13:47Speaker 3: me help you win a fifth. I'm cool with it.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Everyone's cool with it. I've checked with everyone else. We
- 13:54Speaker 3: don't need you, you need us, Lebron. I love you,
- 13:57Speaker 3: I respect you. You want to win a.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Fifth time, let me be the guy that delivers that
- 14:02Speaker 1: to you.
- 14:02Speaker 3: It's not him calling begging Lebron to come, It's it's
- 14:06Speaker 3: Jalen saying, hey, come here, we'll help you.
- 14:08Speaker 1: We'll win a title. We'll do it here.
- 14:10Speaker 3: And then he's thinking to himself as he's saying that
- 14:13Speaker 3: if he doesn't come here, we still have a chance
- 14:14Speaker 3: of winning a title.
- 14:15Speaker 1: F you, I mean you.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Mentioned people being cool with Lebron coming to New York
- 14:22Speaker 4: and right now the conversation online could not be more
- 14:27Speaker 4: divided between Knicks fans because there's there's Knicks fans saying
- 14:31Speaker 4: we want Lebron James because he makes us more likely
- 14:34Speaker 4: to repeat as champions, and there's people like the Salacatas
- 14:38Speaker 4: of the world saying we don't need him, we don't
- 14:41Speaker 4: want him, he had his chance.
- 14:43Speaker 3: But Taylor, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity
- 14:48Speaker 3: to get a guy coming off twenty two points, six
- 14:50Speaker 3: rebounds five This is the game. Who was willing to
- 14:52Speaker 3: pay to play for the league minimum. It's a once
- 14:56Speaker 3: and a lifetime opportunity. And if you're the Knicks, and
- 14:59Speaker 3: if you're Nick, don't be content. Let's get more championships.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Anybody saying Lebron doesn't make the Knicks significantly better, they're
- 15:07Speaker 4: just lying to yourself. If your argument is you don't
- 15:10Speaker 4: want the circus that comes with Lebron James and every
- 15:14Speaker 4: headline becomes Lebron, Lebron, Lebron, that's a fair conversation, I think.
- 15:19Speaker 5: But from a basketball standpoint.
- 15:21Speaker 4: There's no debate that adding Lebron to your starting lineup,
- 15:24Speaker 4: while preventing him from going to another contenter like Philadelphia,
- 15:28Speaker 4: light Boss, like Miami, Yes, increases the next chance at
- 15:32Speaker 4: repeating That's just the reality of the situation.
- 15:35Speaker 3: So I do believe Rich Paul had the Knicks not
- 15:37Speaker 3: won a championship.
- 15:38Speaker 1: It's what I've been saying for years.
- 15:39Speaker 3: If Lebron wants to land this thing correctly and end
- 15:42Speaker 3: it correctly, go to New York and help them win
- 15:44Speaker 3: their first championship. Well, that didn't happen. We won our
- 15:47Speaker 3: first championship. We didn't need Lebron to do it. That
- 15:49Speaker 3: ship is sailed. That's why I think Philadelphia might be
- 15:53Speaker 3: the favorites here because Lebron wants to view himself as
- 15:56Speaker 3: the reason that a team got to the NBA Finals
- 15:59Speaker 3: and an NBA Championship. But he's also forty one, going
- 16:04Speaker 3: to be forty two, and he's chasing ghost and he's
- 16:07Speaker 3: chasing Jordan. So he needs to ask himself, where is
- 16:10Speaker 3: the more likely spot for me to win an NBA
- 16:13Speaker 3: Championship And where is it going to have more impact
- 16:16Speaker 3: and more meaning for my resume.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And my legacy? And that answer is easy. It's New York.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Like if he goes out and helps them get to
- 16:24Speaker 3: back to back titles or wins two titles, god forbid
- 16:27Speaker 3: in New York with the Knicks, people are I'm gonna
- 16:30Speaker 3: start having the conversation about Lebron and Michael.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I can't believe I'm saying it about that. Wow, that
- 16:35Speaker 1: was heavy at six, I mean.
- 16:39Speaker 4: But also the New York factor. I think we gave
- 16:42Speaker 4: Jalen Brunston multiple rings for winning in New York.
- 16:46Speaker 3: We did, but he did it without Lebron, and so
- 16:48Speaker 3: like Lebron had that opportunity. Had Lebron come last year
- 16:52Speaker 3: and they still won the NBA title, Lebron would have
- 16:54Speaker 3: went right from four to six. But that opportunity has passed. Okay,
- 16:59Speaker 3: we don't need Lebron. Let me be very clear.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I want him.
- 17:02Speaker 3: He makes our team better, but we may still win
- 17:04Speaker 3: a title without Lebron.
- 17:05Speaker 1: James, We've already done it. Lebron should listen.
- 17:09Speaker 3: He should be on his hands and knees begging Jalb
- 17:13Speaker 3: Brunson to come to New York. Anythink short of that?
- 17:16Speaker 3: I don't want him, havelf of that? Yeah, we don't
- 17:18Speaker 3: need him. I mean we have Landry Shamman.
- 17:25Speaker 1: What am I doing here?
- 17:28Speaker 3: Like he's gonna beg us Please jalb please let me
- 17:31Speaker 3: come there.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Please.
- 17:33Speaker 3: He's probably thinking I'm gonna go to Philadelphia and rip
- 17:35Speaker 3: that guy's heart out.
- 17:36Speaker 1: You know, I don't know.
- 17:38Speaker 3: What do you think you think he would consider New York?
- 17:41Speaker 5: I think New York is.
- 17:43Speaker 4: I don't think he would have ever came to New
- 17:45Speaker 4: York like I think Rich Paul is posturing saying if
- 17:48Speaker 4: the Knicks had n't won a title, he would have
- 17:51Speaker 4: gone there, because that's the easiest thing in the world
- 17:54Speaker 4: to say. After the Knicks actually win a title and
- 17:56Speaker 4: all the pressure goes off you of delivering that title.
- 18:01Speaker 4: I do think he does look at it from the
- 18:03Speaker 4: sense of the Kevin Durant factor of when Kevin Durant
- 18:08Speaker 4: goes to the Warriors, a team that very clearly didn't
- 18:11Speaker 4: need him, and you see the backlash that comes when
- 18:15Speaker 4: Kevin Durant wins a title. I think Lebron would face
- 18:18Speaker 4: similar pushback if he did go to the Knicks and
- 18:22Speaker 4: the pressure of trying to repeat as champions. You're looking
- 18:26Speaker 4: around the league and it's like there aren't like too
- 18:29Speaker 4: many like Crystal Clear. This team becomes an instant title contender.
- 18:35Speaker 4: This team doesn't have the burden of Lebron needing to
- 18:40Speaker 4: carry a lot of the pressure at forty one years old.
- 18:44Speaker 4: The more I think about, like from a straight basketball fit,
- 18:48Speaker 4: I think Denver is like a pretty interesting option where
- 18:52Speaker 4: you have a floor spacer like Cam Johnson, you have
- 18:55Speaker 4: Christian Bron, you have Christian Brown off the bench. You
- 18:58Speaker 4: have somebody like Jamal Murray who's like a fringe All
- 19:02Speaker 4: Star All NBA type player, and then you have Nicole
- 19:05Speaker 4: jokicch who is one of the best passers and one
- 19:08Speaker 4: of the best bigs in the NBA. There's if you
- 19:12Speaker 4: present every team for me and say this is where
- 19:14Speaker 4: Lebron signs, I could see about six sevent teams in
- 19:19Speaker 4: this NBA.
- 19:20Speaker 3: If I'm being honest and we're filling out starting five's
- 19:24Speaker 3: Minnesota seems to be the best.
- 19:28Speaker 1: We're Philadelphia.
- 19:29Speaker 3: I do think there needs to be so Denver is
- 19:33Speaker 3: a good option. I don't know if it's sexy enough,
- 19:35Speaker 3: you know what I mean. And I think that's important
- 19:37Speaker 3: to Lebron. Lebron and Rich Paul they're storytellers, man. They
- 19:41Speaker 3: like to write stories. They're calculated, they think about this stuff.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Where is this championship for me, if indeed it's my
- 19:47Speaker 3: last championship run, Where's it going to have the most impact?
- 19:51Speaker 1: And I'm not certain anyone cares, even with Lebron.
- 19:53Speaker 3: If Denver wins another championship, Minnesota is probably the best,
- 19:58Speaker 3: top top best starting five. But there's no there's really
- 20:03Speaker 3: no sex appeal to it. It's not sexy to Lebron James.
- 20:06Speaker 3: It's going to Minnesota, of all places spending a year
- 20:09Speaker 3: there and winning a title. For me, there are three
- 20:12Speaker 3: obvious choices. It is Philadelphia, It's the Nicks, and it's Cleveland.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Those are the three places. Cleveland because it's a storybook ending.
- 20:23Speaker 3: New York because it's New York. Philadelphia is a storied
- 20:26Speaker 3: franchise who hasn't won a championship in a long long time.
- 20:29Speaker 3: And Lebron could be perceived as the guy that goes
- 20:32Speaker 3: to Philadelphia and helps Joel Embiid finally get to the
- 20:35Speaker 3: finals and finally win a championship. And I think he
- 20:38Speaker 3: thrives on that kind of thing. He really does, So
- 20:40Speaker 3: I think it's gonna come down to those three teams
- 20:43Speaker 3: if he's purely looking at it from winning a title
- 20:45Speaker 3: and a basketball standpoint, I'm not certain Minnesota is not
- 20:49Speaker 3: the best starting five when you insert Lebron James into
- 20:52Speaker 3: that starting five.
- 20:53Speaker 4: You know, the craziest thing in all of this is
- 20:57Speaker 4: that we don't really have a finish line in sight
- 21:01Speaker 4: where it's like.
- 21:02Speaker 1: He's gonna milk it.
- 21:03Speaker 4: He's going to milk thisf We have no earthly idea
- 21:08Speaker 4: on when Lebron is even thinking about signing this contract. It.
- 21:11Speaker 4: We're most likely just gonna get dropped with this on
- 21:13Speaker 4: a random day when we're least expecting it, and you're
- 21:16Speaker 4: you're looking at how fluid the situation is where a
- 21:19Speaker 4: team like Philadelphia comes in at the last second, like
- 21:22Speaker 4: there might be a team out there that were that
- 21:26Speaker 4: doesn't have the pieces together right now. It's like, could
- 21:30Speaker 4: another team get in here all of a sudden.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Well, it would take Anthony Davis, right, most of the
- 21:35Speaker 3: big guys have signed already, correct, correct, So would take
- 21:39Speaker 3: a trade for Anthony Davis, Edgecomb, Maxi Embiid. I'm nervous
- 21:44Speaker 3: about this man, I really am, because he could see
- 21:46Speaker 3: himself there Edgecomb, Maxie Embid, Jalen Brown and Lebron James.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I take back what I said about Minnesota. Okayet, that's
- 21:59Speaker 3: the best of the star fives available. You would agree
- 22:02Speaker 3: the starting five when you would sert Lebron into it,
- 22:05Speaker 3: the starting five of Philadelphia or the Knicks, combined with
- 22:09Speaker 3: the storytelling, the sex appeal, the impact it would have.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I keep saying sex. I don't know why I'm doing that,
- 22:16Speaker 1: but you would agree. I think those are the two teams.
- 22:19Speaker 3: I don't think there's anyone else He's not gonna team
- 22:21Speaker 3: up with Jason Tatum plus Brad Stevens. Brad Stevens a
- 22:24Speaker 3: playing Brad Stevens is the guy who traded Jalen Brown
- 22:27Speaker 3: away for a bunch of stuff.
- 22:29Speaker 4: I mean, if he went to Philadelphia, the biggest winner
- 22:33Speaker 4: in all of that would be that one analytics guy
- 22:36Speaker 4: who told Bobby Marks that Jalen Brown is the seventh
- 22:39Speaker 4: best player on a team. Because you're starting to look
- 22:42Speaker 4: at that Philadelphia roster and it's like, if everybody is
- 22:45Speaker 4: playing their best basketball, Okay, Jalen Brown is probably closer
- 22:48Speaker 4: to seven than he is to one.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Yes, do you think if Lebron? Yes? Correct?
- 22:53Speaker 3: Do you think if Lebron goes to the Knicks and
- 22:55Speaker 3: they don't win? Nick fans are gonna blame Lebron? We
- 22:57Speaker 3: didn't need them, told you what are we doing?
- 23:00Speaker 1: Uh?
- 23:01Speaker 3: Was trying to play all the sides here because I
- 23:02Speaker 3: want to see if there's downside to go into.
- 23:04Speaker 1: New York STU.
- 23:05Speaker 4: People will blame Lebron for ruining the chemistry of this
- 23:10Speaker 4: Knicks team.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Right, took Hard out of the starting lineup, Right.
- 23:13Speaker 4: If they don't win the title? And what that what
- 23:16Speaker 4: that discredits and doesn't think about this. Knicks chemistry was
- 23:22Speaker 4: not that good as early as March.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Where Taylor we had they were down to one to
- 23:28Speaker 3: CJ McCollum. I mean they were down thirty points to
- 23:31Speaker 3: the Cavs in Game one.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Yes they won the title, Yes they fixed the chemistry issues,
- 23:38Speaker 4: but there were some massive question marks with this next team.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Where you're going into the playoffs and nobody realistically thought
- 23:45Speaker 4: that this next team was a surefire title contender.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Right, Lebron, do me a favor, Show me some guts.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I'm serious, Show me some guts. I know there are
- 23:56Speaker 3: expectations in New York, they'll come down hard on you
- 23:58Speaker 3: if you don't. If we don't win, it it's championship
- 24:00Speaker 3: or bus. There, it's championship or bust. In Philadelphia it
- 24:03Speaker 3: would be if that's starting five's together, it would be
- 24:06Speaker 3: championship or bus.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Don't take the easy path.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Don't go to Cleveland where if you win, great, if
- 24:13Speaker 3: you lose, no one cares. Go to a place where
- 24:16Speaker 3: people care. Okay, challenge yourself at the end of your career.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Show some guts. Go to the Knicks or go to
- 24:24Speaker 3: the Sixers, two places where it's championship or bus. If
- 24:27Speaker 3: you don't, I'm not going to count this title as
- 24:29Speaker 3: a title. If you do, when you win a title
- 24:31Speaker 3: in New York or Philadelphia, I will perhaps give you
- 24:34Speaker 3: two titles.
- 24:35Speaker 1: How about that.
- 24:36Speaker 3: So the hard path and show the guts on your
- 24:39Speaker 3: finger and one for the guts.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Just to be clear, the hard path and the one
- 24:45Speaker 4: that shows Lebron having guts is going to the team
- 24:49Speaker 4: that just won the title.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, No, because the expectations, because it's championship or bus.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Because of what you just said, Nick, fans will come
- 24:55Speaker 3: down on him and come down on him hard if
- 24:58Speaker 3: they don't win a second NBA title. They got Lebron Jay,
- 25:01Speaker 3: they won one without him, and now they're adding one
- 25:03Speaker 3: of the best players that ever played in the NBA.
- 25:05Speaker 1: That's guts. Show me some guts.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Listen, you win in Minnesota or lose in Minnesota, nobody
- 25:11Speaker 3: cares you winner lose in Denver. Nobody cares you win
- 25:15Speaker 3: or lose in Cleveland, nobody cares. People care when you
- 25:19Speaker 3: win or lose in New York, and they certainly care
- 25:21Speaker 3: in Philadelphia. Show some guts. You win in one of
- 25:25Speaker 3: those two places, again, I give you one ring for
- 25:27Speaker 3: the finger and one ring for your guts.
- 25:32Speaker 1: It's a weird take.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Just to be clear for people who maybe aren't seeing
- 25:36Speaker 4: the irony. What's the difference between Lebron going to the
- 25:40Speaker 4: Knicks and Kevin Durant when he went to the Warriors.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Big difference.
- 25:45Speaker 3: The Warriors were an all time great team. They did
- 25:49Speaker 3: not need Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant was on Oklahoma City,
- 25:53Speaker 3: played Golden State in the Western Conference Finals, had a
- 25:56Speaker 3: three to one series lead, couldn't close the deal. And
- 26:00Speaker 3: that team was already an all time great team. So
- 26:02Speaker 3: he couldn't close the deal. So rather to take an
- 26:05Speaker 3: off season, go back, hit the weight room, work on
- 26:09Speaker 3: your game, come back with Oklahoma City and try it again.
- 26:12Speaker 1: What he did was.
- 26:14Speaker 3: He said, hey, you know what, I don't want to
- 26:15Speaker 3: do all that. I don't want to go against them.
- 26:18Speaker 3: I'm just going to join them. That is not the
- 26:21Speaker 3: case here again, they were down two games to one
- 26:25Speaker 3: to C. J.
- 26:26Speaker 1: McCollum. I'm not even certain how the Knicks won this
- 26:29Speaker 1: NBA championship. Okay, And so.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Lebron coming here, he's not coming to an all time
- 26:33Speaker 3: great team. He's just coming to a team that happened
- 26:36Speaker 3: to win a championship last year.
- 26:37Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Rich paul.
- 26:40Speaker 5: Knew exactly what he was doing with that whiteboard.
- 26:42Speaker 1: He did hate Jesus Christ.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Guy, he's playing fucking chess.
