This is something bigger — the days of the week. Luna: Ah, days! That's perfect. I always forget how to say Tuesday in German. Lucas: We'll fix that. Let's start with the first day of the week... in Germany, Monday. Luna: Okay, Monday is Montag, right? Lucas: Exactly. Montag. Say it with me: Montag. Luna: Montag. Lucas: Perfect. Now Tuesday is Dienstag. Luna: Dienstag. That sounds a bit like 'dienst' — service? Lucas: Good ear. And Wednesday is Mittwoch — literally 'mid-week'. Luna: Mittwoch. That's easier to remember. Lucas: Now let's use them in a sentence. The most useful one: 'Today is Monday.' In German: Heute ist Montag. Luna: Heute ist Montag. Today is Monday. Lucas: Yes. So if today is Tuesday, you say...? Luna: Heute ist Dienstag. Lucas: Perfect. Now imagine you're at a café and you want to say 'Today is Wednesday.' Go ahead. Luna: Heute ist Mittwoch. Lucas: Beautiful. Let's do a quick dialogue. I'll ask: 'Welcher Tag ist heute?' — 'What day is today?' And you answer with the correct day. Luna: Okay, hit me. Lucas: Welcher Tag ist heute? Luna: Heute ist Freitag. Lucas: Yes! That's right.
