- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I remember I was in one of the space and
- 0:14Speaker 2: do you know, I mean, I'm listening to everybody do
- 0:16Speaker 2: their thing to.
- 0:17Speaker 3: The long and it's just kind of fun.
- 0:19Speaker 2: And then at the far end I heard what sounded
- 0:23Speaker 2: like an elephant in heat trumpeting, and even the nurses
- 0:29Speaker 2: were looking down and going.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Wow, that's impressive. It's like a xylophone of farts, is
- 0:36Speaker 3: what it is.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And now Handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen. Here's
- 0:42Speaker 1: Bill Handle.
- 0:45Speaker 3: And good morning everybody. Don'll handle here and the whole
- 0:48Speaker 3: morning crew.
- 0:48Speaker 2: It is Onday, Wednesday, January twenty eighth. That pro by
- 0:52Speaker 2: the way, I refers to the conversation that we had
- 0:54Speaker 2: yesterday about the recovery room subsequent to the colonoscopy that
- 1:01Speaker 2: everyone enjoys, especially at Kaiser where there's a lot of
- 1:04Speaker 2: activity going on.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Heather was fillyan for Amy yesterday.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Or the day of sleet day before, day before on Monday,
- 1:13Speaker 2: and she was about to have a colonoscopy, well presently
- 1:20Speaker 2: she's going to have one soon, and I was telling
- 1:23Speaker 2: her that it's no big deal. She's going to die
- 1:27Speaker 2: and they're going to puncture her intestines and she's probably
- 1:31Speaker 2: not going to survive. In the meantime, Amy, you've recently
- 1:36Speaker 2: had a Colonosky, we're doing Colonosky talked this morning.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Yes, I had one last June, and how was that?
- 1:41Speaker 4: It was lovely?
- 1:43Speaker 3: Lovely.
- 1:43Speaker 4: It's not as bad as anybody says. As everybody says,
- 1:46Speaker 4: the prep is a pain, but you know, you wake
- 1:49Speaker 4: up from a nice nap when you're done, and it
- 1:52Speaker 4: also can save your life, is it?
- 1:54Speaker 3: Yeah? No kidding, no kidding. Did you have the proper fole?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:58Speaker 4: I did?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Knocked out?
- 1:59Speaker 4: Yes, side system, so did I.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't want to be away twilight sleep. I
- 2:04Speaker 2: don't even know what twilight sleep is.
- 2:06Speaker 4: I know somebody who sort of woke up during that, yeah, procedure,
- 2:09Speaker 4: and it was not pleasant.
- 2:11Speaker 2: No, it is not pleasant, all right? Anyway, Good morning,
- 2:14Speaker 2: and then there will good morning to you. Good morning,
- 2:17Speaker 2: phil By that's his name out I nearly went allowed
- 2:21Speaker 2: to do that on this show.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Good Morning.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I've actually had a few people call me, by the way,
- 2:28Speaker 2: Cono who missed the deadline for the go fundme page,
- 2:32Speaker 2: and they go, can we still donate to uh the
- 2:37Speaker 2: campaign to get Cono's car, and I said absolutely, and
- 2:40Speaker 2: I gave them my Zell number.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And so thank you.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Con i'n have a few I'm gonna have Yeah, I'm
- 2:46Speaker 2: gonna have a few dinners on you. Uh Neil, good morning,
- 2:49Speaker 2: good morning Wolf all right, and then I am the
- 2:53Speaker 2: rest of the crowd, good morning, good morning. We're not
- 2:56Speaker 2: going to talk a whole lot today about what's going
- 3:00Speaker 2: on in Minneapolis. The White House is peddling a little
- 3:06Speaker 2: bit backwards, not a lot, but I'll mention it. The
- 3:08Speaker 2: only thing I do want to mention. I was thinking
- 3:10Speaker 2: about this yesterday and I'm certainly not defending the administration,
- 3:13Speaker 2: but in a couple of instances, especially Trump had a
- 3:17Speaker 2: good point. Now, Cash Battel said that Alex Pretty was
- 3:24Speaker 2: not allowed to have a gun. That's not true. I mean,
- 3:26Speaker 2: Patel doesn't understand the law. I mean, Pretty had a
- 3:30Speaker 2: permit to carry a gun because Minnesota is an open,
- 3:34Speaker 2: open gun in law, open state, and you can carry
- 3:37Speaker 2: one as long as people can see it.
- 3:40Speaker 3: So he was dead wrong on that and Second Amendment.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Folks are really going nuts in terms of what the
- 3:45Speaker 2: administration said, particularly Cash Patel. The President said something and
- 3:49Speaker 2: I've been thinking about that for a couple of days.
- 3:52Speaker 2: He should not have brought a gun to the demonstration.
- 3:56Speaker 2: And I'm thinking, you know, not that it was not
- 3:59Speaker 2: legal for him to do so. But I have a question,
- 4:02Speaker 2: knowing how crazy ICE agents are, knowing how the devastation
- 4:09Speaker 2: that they cause, and how anxious they are to arrest
- 4:13Speaker 2: people and to beat them up and to be wild
- 4:17Speaker 2: West cowboys, why would you ever bring a gun to
- 4:20Speaker 2: a demonstration?
- 4:22Speaker 3: I doly gets except that you really think now listen,
- 4:26Speaker 3: I don't know their process for picking and I'm not impressed,
- 4:30Speaker 3: and I think nooams should walk, and I think they
- 4:33Speaker 3: should cease these detainments for now. But you're really going
- 4:38Speaker 3: to lead with you think that they all want to
- 4:41Speaker 3: come out there like cowboys. No, but enough of them,
- 4:43Speaker 3: enough of them? Do enough of them? Do? Are they?
- 4:46Speaker 3: Are they shooting? But they'll tell you one thing, so
- 4:49Speaker 3: called peaceful protesters.
- 4:51Speaker 2: No, But I'll tell you what they are doing is
- 4:53Speaker 2: every time that or many times, we're not seeing one
- 4:57Speaker 2: or two ICE agents that bring down someone or rest someone,
- 5:00Speaker 2: it's dozens.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I say, did it start that way? Or is that
- 5:04Speaker 3: because so peaceful protests are?
- 5:08Speaker 2: In my giviting, I don't know. I don't know the
- 5:10Speaker 2: answer to that, but I will tell you from what
- 5:12Speaker 2: we've said. Listen, she needs to go, they need to
- 5:14Speaker 2: stop the No, that's a given.
- 5:15Speaker 3: That's a given. I'm not arguing that.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Going back to the point knowing even believing that, I
- 5:21Speaker 2: mean not going into the nuances, not going into the
- 5:24Speaker 2: minutia here, Neil, knowing what's going on, why would anybody
- 5:29Speaker 2: bring a weapon to it? Agree?
- 5:31Speaker 3: I don't think. I don't think these protesters are for
- 5:34Speaker 3: the vast majority that are getting involved and getting too
- 5:37Speaker 3: close to the creek and then slipping in and being harmed.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I don't think they're any different than the wing nuts
- 5:45Speaker 3: that went on January sixth to the Capitol. I don't
- 5:49Speaker 3: they both thought. They both have their mindset that democracy
- 5:55Speaker 3: is being impeded and they're going to fight for it.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I see the January sixth people more at more at fault.
- 6:01Speaker 3: But anyway, I just wanted to read that they both
- 6:05Speaker 3: see a nobility. Understand Neil. Okay, Let's let's start with Neil,
- 6:09Speaker 3: You're wrong, okay, are you?
- 6:11Speaker 2: Uh? Let's let's start with on the news that I
- 6:14Speaker 2: understand that. Let's start with a handle on the news
- 6:17Speaker 2: with Amy Neil and me lead story by the president
- 6:23Speaker 2: signed another executive board resigns a lot of these I
- 6:25Speaker 2: means absolutely nothing U and UH this is taking over
- 6:30Speaker 2: the wildfire rebuilding here in the south land in La
- 6:35Speaker 2: pasif says, and eating fire eating canyon fire.
- 6:39Speaker 3: UH.
- 6:39Speaker 2: And this is titled addressing state and local failures to
- 6:43Speaker 2: rebuild l A Los Angeles after the wild file fire
- 6:46Speaker 2: disasters and so one uh it UH tries to bypass
- 6:51Speaker 2: city and county building regulations.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Two at all UH an audit of three billion.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Dollars in federal hazard mitigation efforts that that they can do.
- 7:01Speaker 2: But the bottom line is what Trump is saying is
- 7:04Speaker 2: will the federal government, meaning I will take over the
- 7:08Speaker 2: local building process and the local zoning laws.
- 7:11Speaker 3: That's up to me. And he can't. He can't, and
- 7:17Speaker 3: yet he does.
- 7:19Speaker 2: And then the argument is is he doing this to
- 7:21Speaker 2: distract from what's going on in Minneapolis.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:26Speaker 2: It's just a far reaching president who just says I
- 7:29Speaker 2: want to be king of the world and I'm going
- 7:31Speaker 2: to do everything I possibly can.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Don't you think he's a he's a builder who's looking
- 7:35Speaker 4: at a year later with nothing not nothing being done,
- 7:37Speaker 4: but a process. It's stalled out, and a lot of
- 7:40Speaker 4: frustrated people saying I want to help.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I understand, but you don't do that by saying the
- 7:46Speaker 2: federal government will take over the local building process. I
- 7:50Speaker 2: don't like the speed limit in certain rows in California,
- 7:53Speaker 2: so I it was local speed limits, so I will
- 7:56Speaker 2: take over that part of the government. I don't like
- 7:58Speaker 2: the way local fired upartments are working. I will take
- 8:01Speaker 2: that over you. You don't do that. He is not
- 8:05Speaker 2: king of the world. And we're going to talk more
- 8:08Speaker 2: about that at seven o'clock because of course there's more
- 8:12Speaker 2: to it than just those of us who are involved babbling.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Not me, but Amy and the rest of the Morning crew.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Pressure is mounting to get rid of Christy, which we
- 8:26Speaker 4: were just talking about, and Neil is all for it.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Top House Democrats have told President Trump to fire Christy
- 8:33Speaker 4: Nome or they will launch impeachment proceedings against the Homeland
- 8:38Speaker 4: Security secretary. Of course, it's all tied to the killing
- 8:42Speaker 4: of Alex Pretty and again the shooting of Rene Good
- 8:46Speaker 4: earlier in the month.
- 8:47Speaker 2: She's not gonna she will not be fired, and the
- 8:50Speaker 2: impeachment's going to go no place.
- 8:52Speaker 3: No Republican is going to go against the president.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Two Republican senators, yeah, maybe they.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Were just about to clear Yeah, but those that are
- 8:58Speaker 2: either retiring that they can't do much to it. And
- 9:01Speaker 2: then Lisa Murkowski, who is more of a Democrat than
- 9:03Speaker 2: she is a Republican h in her seat is about
- 9:07Speaker 2: as safe as you can get. The point is the
- 9:10Speaker 2: President is not going to to cave in to pressure
- 9:13Speaker 2: like that, and he said Christine Dome met with him
- 9:17Speaker 2: yesterday for a couple of hours and coming out she
- 9:20Speaker 2: has my full confidence.
- 9:22Speaker 3: There's no way, there is no way been in that
- 9:25Speaker 3: position to begin She is not a qualification, are you kidding?
- 9:27Speaker 3: Let's go, let's go down. The list of people who
- 9:30Speaker 3: are not qualified for their position is filled with people
- 9:33Speaker 3: that aren't qualified. Absolutely, absolutely, And my biggest fear is
- 9:38Speaker 3: that he can't take a knee on anything. No, no
- 9:41Speaker 3: way say firing her is like saying he's wrong, right,
- 9:46Speaker 3: that's true unless she does, unless she does something against him.
- 9:49Speaker 3: And it's unfortunate because she needs to go. She's over
- 9:52Speaker 3: her head, well she.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Has any other in any other administration, she she'd be
- 9:55Speaker 2: gone in about two seconds.
- 9:57Speaker 3: The White House isn't even walking back.
- 10:00Speaker 2: But she said about Preddy being a domestic terrorist who
- 10:04Speaker 2: attacked immigration officials, officers, tried to kill them, try to
- 10:11Speaker 2: create a mass a massacre, taking out as many as
- 10:16Speaker 2: she as you possibly could. And there's all the video
- 10:19Speaker 2: which contradicts everything.
- 10:21Speaker 3: That she said.
- 10:23Speaker 2: She hasn't come back and said I'm wrong. The administration
- 10:26Speaker 2: hasn't come back and said she's wrong. Now, Trump was asked,
- 10:30Speaker 2: do you believe that Preddy was a domestic terrorist? And
- 10:35Speaker 2: all he said was no, I don't think that's true.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Boom finished, done, and so nothing's gonna happen. Nothing's gonna
- 10:40Speaker 2: happen other than Borovino.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I had that right.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Borgovino is out and Tom Homan is in. And that's
- 10:50Speaker 2: basically it. The other thing I was mentioning to yesterday
- 10:54Speaker 2: is you will see nothing happening to those two agents
- 10:57Speaker 2: that killed Preddy. Nothing is going to happen to them.
- 11:00Speaker 2: They're still out there working, They're no longer in Minneapolis.
- 11:02Speaker 2: What we understand, and I tell you, and maybe I
- 11:05Speaker 2: went a little bit crazy, not only is nothing gonna happen,
- 11:07Speaker 2: there'll be a commendation somewhere. I know you're shaking your head, Amy,
- 11:13Speaker 2: I'm making a point I'm making a point here is
- 11:15Speaker 2: that I'm making I'm making a point.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Okay, it's fun watching you. It's fun watching you augur
- 11:21Speaker 3: your brain after thirty years of radio. Yes, that's true.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Don't look at the man behind the curtains. It's been
- 11:29Speaker 3: a month. Congress imposed a deadline for the Department of
- 11:34Speaker 3: Justice to release the files on Jeffrey Epstein, and they've
- 11:40Speaker 3: all come out. Wait what, Nope, they haven't. They said
- 11:44Speaker 3: that they're making some they're making some substantial progress, so
- 11:49Speaker 3: says the DJ near. So many I mean upwards of
- 11:53Speaker 3: millions of documents and photographs, but they haven't been released.
- 11:58Speaker 3: I don't think anybody's going to you forget TikTok TikTok.
- 12:04Speaker 3: No timeline, at least say we're going to do I
- 12:08Speaker 3: don't know, fifty thousand or one hundred thousand every month
- 12:12Speaker 3: until we can get these out. Because there's so many
- 12:14Speaker 3: something mic'soft, Sir.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I wonder if this is going to go away because
- 12:21Speaker 2: there's so many things happening on. It's certainly a back
- 12:24Speaker 2: burner compared to what it was. There's so many things
- 12:27Speaker 2: going on that it's one story after another story after
- 12:33Speaker 2: another story. Well, it's certainly not going to be to
- 12:37Speaker 2: the extent that it was. I mean, it's not that
- 12:38Speaker 2: hot a potato anymore. There's an analogy.
- 12:42Speaker 3: I don't know about that. I think people still want
- 12:45Speaker 3: to know. I think they do, but I don't think
- 12:47Speaker 3: their demand is the way it was before.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Disaster. Maybe looming at the Hollywood Burbank Airport. Very scary
- 12:56Speaker 4: stuff came out of the National Transportation Safety Board hearing yesterday.
- 13:01Speaker 4: The head of the NTSB said that Bourbank could be
- 13:05Speaker 4: next for a mid air collision, specifically saying Burbank out
- 13:10Speaker 4: of all the airports in the US. She said that
- 13:13Speaker 4: the conditions are similar. You know that the midair collision
- 13:16Speaker 4: between the helicopter and the American Airlines jet over DC.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Conditions at Burbank are similar. And she said that one
- 13:24Speaker 4: commercial airline had called her to say, the next midair
- 13:27Speaker 4: is going to be Burbank, and nobody at FAA is
- 13:30Speaker 4: paying attention to us.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I'm going to do that story at seven twenty. Look
- 13:35Speaker 2: up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Not anymore. Well, I'll tell you it's still easier to
- 13:41Speaker 3: get in and out of that place.
- 13:42Speaker 2: So yeah, oh, it's it's a great airport. Not if
- 13:48Speaker 2: you have planes falling out of the sky and hitting
- 13:49Speaker 2: each other. But it is a great airport. And this
- 13:51Speaker 2: is the first I've heard of this. I love flying
- 13:53Speaker 2: out of flying out of Hollywood Burbank.
- 13:56Speaker 3: All right, people keep turning up the heat with their
- 14:01Speaker 3: political views. A man lunges at Representative Omar during a
- 14:06Speaker 3: town hall and apparently sprayed her with some substance, although
- 14:10Speaker 3: we don't know what it is, yelling you must resign,
- 14:16Speaker 3: and then security guards rightly so dropped on the person,
- 14:21Speaker 3: and someone's like, get checked, and she says, no, that's
- 14:25Speaker 3: what they want. We will continue. She said, these fing
- 14:28Speaker 3: a holes are not going to get away with this,
- 14:32Speaker 3: and then she was comforted by her husband brother. No,
- 14:36Speaker 3: I'm just kidding. I don't know. Did you marry your brother?
- 14:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I don't think this is the crowd that marries their brother.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Oh no, I think I thought she No, No, I
- 14:49Speaker 2: don't think so. Okay, let's spot check that husband, husband brother.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Did you on Omar cousin?
- 14:58Speaker 2: Maybe it was cousin she married her brother.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Well, that's what that's what there is talk about that.
- 15:07Speaker 4: I don't know that that's ever been substantiated.
- 15:11Speaker 3: But I'm pretty sure her husband brother didn't comfort her.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I added that, Wow, I didn't even hear about her
- 15:18Speaker 3: husband brother.
- 15:19Speaker 4: You haven't heard about her husband brother.
- 15:20Speaker 3: I have not heard about her husband brother.
- 15:22Speaker 4: I'll send you a link.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I have not heard about her husband brother.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And this comes directly from Reuter's or BBC or is
- 15:30Speaker 2: it some crazy ass story that's on the internet.
- 15:32Speaker 4: You're gonna love this. I see a headline on Tucker
- 15:36Speaker 4: Carlson dot com.
- 15:46Speaker 3: It didn't happen. It's what I'm saying now. Okay, time
- 15:50Speaker 3: for one more.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Okay, two ICE agents we're involved. Of course, the big
- 15:54Speaker 4: story is what's going on in Minneapolis, and the thirty
- 15:58Speaker 4: seven year old was shot in killed over the weekend
- 16:01Speaker 4: during an altercation with ICE agents Alex Pretty And A
- 16:06Speaker 4: report from the Department of Homeland Security says that two
- 16:10Speaker 4: officers did fire their guns during the encounter with Pretty.
- 16:14Speaker 4: An officer had yelled he's got a gun multiple times
- 16:18Speaker 4: before they fired on him as they struggled with him
- 16:20Speaker 4: on the ground. The report doesn't specify whether bullets from
- 16:26Speaker 4: both law enforcement officials hit Preddy, but just the two
- 16:29Speaker 4: did fire.
- 16:31Speaker 3: A couple questions here We talked about this this morning.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Where as even though Alex pretty did have a permit
- 16:37Speaker 2: and was carrying the gun legally, there was no issue
- 16:40Speaker 2: about that. Just why would you take a weapon to
- 16:45Speaker 2: a demonstration, particularly with ICE agents running around knowing what
- 16:48Speaker 2: they do, And wouldn't they.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Yell he's got a gun. If they saw somebody holding.
- 16:52Speaker 3: You would think gone.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Or if the gun well, we don't know where the
- 16:56Speaker 2: gun was and a waistband and a holster.
- 16:58Speaker 3: We have not heard it, but it wasn't yell, but
- 17:01Speaker 3: it was regardless.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, No, I'm not arguing it's not legal. It's
- 17:04Speaker 2: a question of what happened and when did the cops
- 17:08Speaker 2: stream that he has a gun? And was it after
- 17:11Speaker 2: one of the officers took the gun out of his
- 17:14Speaker 2: holster or out of his waistband and was walking away.
- 17:17Speaker 2: We see the video and then the shots happened.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Uh, but yeah, we do.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Well, Yeah, this Department Homeland Security is doing the investigation
- 17:25Speaker 2: and we're going to see a lot of that.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Uh.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And then the other question is and a point I
- 17:30Speaker 2: want to make anytime there was a shooting of any
- 17:33Speaker 2: kind where a police officer is involved and someone's injured,
- 17:37Speaker 2: someone killed. They immediately take those officers off the front line,
- 17:41Speaker 2: put them an administrative duty, instantly saying you are off
- 17:44Speaker 2: the streets.
- 17:45Speaker 3: We have not heard that, Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 2: We have not heard that here. All we have heard
- 17:49Speaker 2: is that this. These officers are no longer in Minneapolis.
- 17:53Speaker 2: That's all we've heard. So I gotta tell you this thing.
- 18:00Speaker 2: They're not trained at all. I mean, I don't know
- 18:01Speaker 2: whether these guys, but forty seven days is what I understand,
- 18:04Speaker 2: a lot of these ICE agents have gone through, and
- 18:06Speaker 2: I don't know how much psychological examination they've gone through.
- 18:10Speaker 2: They should look like a holes to me. I mean
- 18:12Speaker 2: they look like that, you know, the beatings that take place.
- 18:17Speaker 2: And granted that may be very unusual because that's the
- 18:20Speaker 2: video that comes out. We don't see video where an
- 18:22Speaker 2: ICE agent is respectful and tebles Wheber please turn your back.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I'm arresting you. Yes, let's keep calling. But you don't
- 18:30Speaker 2: see those videos. You see the other ones.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Go ahead and tap that keg chup, keg oh, ketch up,
- 18:42Speaker 3: cake ketchup. So listen to this, you'd think that, you know,
- 18:48Speaker 3: people are thinking, hey, the big game's going, let's go
- 18:51Speaker 3: ahead and keep that beer flowing. Well, that's not what
- 18:55Speaker 3: heinz keg Chup wants from you this night. Ten point
- 19:00Speaker 3: five inch dispenser that holds one hundred and fourteen ounces
- 19:05Speaker 3: of its signature ketchup. How much this keg's designed to
- 19:08Speaker 3: eliminate empty bottles at football parties? How much it looks
- 19:12Speaker 3: like a small keg of beer? You know those five
- 19:13Speaker 3: gallon kegs of beer? How much can you use? I
- 19:16Speaker 3: won it from my Kegchup? I guess. Yeah, so this
- 19:22Speaker 3: is their you know, it's getting us talking about them
- 19:25Speaker 3: before the big game. But I use their ketchup. I'll
- 19:28Speaker 3: get a cake of it.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Well you can't, though, because you can only win it
- 19:32Speaker 4: right now.
- 19:33Speaker 3: No, I'll make one. Oh, you can make it, so
- 19:37Speaker 3: I see.
- 19:37Speaker 2: So what they're doing is it's just a cheap plug
- 19:42Speaker 2: that we're giving them, and they're doing just this just
- 19:44Speaker 2: for pooblicity's purposes, which we fell right into that hole.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Didn't win indeed, yep.
- 19:51Speaker 4: But they do say that they're going to have a
- 19:52Speaker 4: limited edition release in time for the twenty twenty six
- 19:55Speaker 4: football season.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Oh okay, so there's only a year change before we
- 20:01Speaker 2: do that, fair enough?
- 20:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Uh, the mansion tax may need some reimagining, but
- 20:09Speaker 4: it's stalled out right now. So the city council was
- 20:12Speaker 4: looking at whether they wanted to make some changes to
- 20:15Speaker 4: the mansion tax and put it back on the ballot again.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Of course, the mansion tax charges a four percent for
- 20:22Speaker 4: five million dollars.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Or now four percent over ten million dollars two million,
- 20:26Speaker 2: from five to ten million dollars.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Two percent.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Oh, it's two percent of okay, so it's a percentage then,
- 20:32Speaker 4: But they're seeing that the number.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Maybe it is four percent, maybe it's maybe it's eight percent.
- 20:39Speaker 2: It's not eight percent, No, maybe it's four percent. It
- 20:42Speaker 2: was four percent for five million and five percent for
- 20:44Speaker 2: ten million.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Maybe it's three point eight percent. Okay, it could be.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Are you going to get nailed bill? Uh huh.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Anyway, building is down like twenty seven percent, and because
- 20:56Speaker 4: even though it's supposed to be a mansion tax, it's
- 20:59Speaker 4: applying to new construction of apartment buildings like you know,
- 21:03Speaker 4: multi family buildings and commercial buildings. So they want to
- 21:07Speaker 4: put that on the ballot and exempt things like multi
- 21:10Speaker 4: family structures.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Let's figure out another way of making money taxing people
- 21:14Speaker 2: so they don't build and they don't do businesses.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Other California.
- 21:18Speaker 2: This mansion tax has come back to bite them in
- 21:21Speaker 2: the rear end big time. But you know it raises money, Well,
- 21:25Speaker 2: so does one hundred percent tax anything over ten thousand
- 21:28Speaker 2: dollars a year. Now, what can I tell you one
- 21:31Speaker 2: of the reasons I didn't vote for al Gore. You
- 21:33Speaker 2: remember when he talked about he looked right at the
- 21:34Speaker 2: camera and said, you people have to pay your fair
- 21:38Speaker 2: share of taxes. That's anybody who makes more than four
- 21:40Speaker 2: thousand dollars a year. And he was looking right at
- 21:42Speaker 2: me and saying, fair share of taxes.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Okay, leave me alone. California is just going to beat
- 21:48Speaker 3: the crap out of you. If you have a job,
- 21:50Speaker 3: that's basically it. Yeah. And if you want a small business,
- 21:53Speaker 3: good night, Irene. They're going to take a metal pipe
- 21:55Speaker 3: to your head. All right. So after the horrific shootings
- 22:01Speaker 3: there in Minneapolis, California moves forward. I'm not sure how
- 22:04Speaker 3: that's going to help. With a bill allowing lawsuits against
- 22:07Speaker 3: federal agents. They used to say, you can't fight city hall.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Why can't we fight city hall bill? Well, this isn't
- 22:14Speaker 3: city hall, this is a hall by hoping you to
- 22:17Speaker 3: fight the feds. Yeah, but why can't we sue the government.
- 22:21Speaker 2: We can sue the government when the government allows us
- 22:23Speaker 2: to sue the government. That's the point, because it's sovereign,
- 22:27Speaker 2: and the sovereignty controls everything. You can't go against sovereign
- 22:31Speaker 2: unless it allows to. And then there's a whole bunch
- 22:34Speaker 2: of rules, for example, proprietary versus governmental purposes. Here's an example.
- 22:41Speaker 2: You're suing the government for a decision that it makes.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Let's say the FAA for decision over airports. You can't
- 22:48Speaker 2: sue them for that. You can't sue an air traffic
- 22:50Speaker 2: controller for blowing it.
- 22:53Speaker 3: And you sue them for not using the taxes towards
- 22:55Speaker 3: what they said they were going to. No, no, you can't.
- 22:57Speaker 2: However, proprietary, for example, a governmental parking lot. The government
- 23:03Speaker 2: allows you to sue for negligence on that one, because
- 23:05Speaker 2: that's not a governmental activity running a parking lot.
- 23:09Speaker 3: It's there are various levels.
- 23:11Speaker 2: That, but the bottom line you cannot sue the government
- 23:13Speaker 2: unless the government allows itself to be sued, and that
- 23:17Speaker 2: is the FED.
- 23:17Speaker 3: So this one, I don't know where it's going. It's
- 23:20Speaker 3: like it's like being right on this show. We're not
- 23:22Speaker 3: allowed to be right. If you say we're not right.
- 23:25Speaker 2: We don't have a problem with that situation, do we
- 23:29Speaker 2: being right on this show?
- 23:30Speaker 3: That's never been an issue. No, bister, handle those correct.
- 23:34Speaker 4: We're growing, but slowing. California's population was flat from July
- 23:39Speaker 4: twenty twenty four to July of twenty twenty five. US
- 23:44Speaker 4: Census Bureau data was just released shows that the US's
- 23:47Speaker 4: population grew by a half percent about one point eight
- 23:50Speaker 4: million people, which is a lot lower than the previous year,
- 23:53Speaker 4: when it was up by three point two million people.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Experts say the stagnation is largely because of low levels
- 24:00Speaker 4: of migration to the US from other countries. Of course,
- 24:03Speaker 4: is the Trump administration has sought to curtail immigration and
- 24:07Speaker 4: also embarked on deportation efforts.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I was at a taco bell yesterday, empty, completely empty.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I was the only one there. I'm trying to say
- 24:22Speaker 2: it was empty during lunch. Right.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Usually it's jammed. Not a soul, not a soul. Every
- 24:32Speaker 3: time you roll your eyes about the taxes and all
- 24:35Speaker 3: the garbage we have to deal with here in California,
- 24:37Speaker 3: you see one of those blizzards and you go, I'm fine,
- 24:40Speaker 3: I'm fine, I'll stay right that's a good point, all right.
- 24:43Speaker 3: So US has told Ukraine this peace deal just has
- 24:48Speaker 3: to go through. So you have the United States telling
- 24:52Speaker 3: Ukraine that it must sign this peace deal with Russia
- 24:55Speaker 3: in order to get the US security guarantees that we'd
- 24:58Speaker 3: all heard about. That's what's on the table. So those
- 25:02Speaker 3: are considered by Ukraine as the lynch pin in any
- 25:06Speaker 3: sort of settlement ending this Russia four year invasion of Ukraine.
- 25:12Speaker 2: In the meantime, Russia has not moved its position, keeping
- 25:15Speaker 2: the dawnbas keeping Eastern Ukraine, and Russia has already lost
- 25:20Speaker 2: what a million, million and a half men, and to
- 25:24Speaker 2: the point where they're now giving prisoners a break and
- 25:27Speaker 2: paying bonuses and having North Korean soldiers.
- 25:29Speaker 3: And it's gotten.
- 25:32Speaker 2: And this deal may take years in the making unless
- 25:35Speaker 2: Russia caves.
- 25:38Speaker 4: Oh, here's X trafficking targeted. So there's a new initiative
- 25:43Speaker 4: aimed at disrupting the sex trafficking business along Western Avenue.
- 25:49Speaker 4: They also are aimed to support survivors and hold traffickers
- 25:54Speaker 4: and buyers accountables. According to local leaders, Korea Town and
- 25:58Speaker 4: the Greater Wilshire air are the areas that are being
- 26:01Speaker 4: targeted because they've long been identified as hubs of illegal activity,
- 26:06Speaker 4: you know, And I've.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Driven along both of those and I've never noticed. Yeah,
- 26:10Speaker 2: of course, but I've never I've never known. I've never
- 26:13Speaker 2: I've never noticed. Uh So, I guess you really have
- 26:17Speaker 2: to be in that world to notice.
- 26:19Speaker 3: It and want to deal with it. Well. The prostitution,
- 26:22Speaker 3: they are having problems with prostitution in Larchmont right now,
- 26:26Speaker 3: Large Mont. Yes, it is it Back in the day
- 26:30Speaker 3: of the old days at KFI, when we were in
- 26:33Speaker 3: k Town, we'd get off the air really late at
- 26:36Speaker 3: night and we go on who were tours Michelle Cube,
- 26:39Speaker 3: Tim Kelly, me Crozier. I think we'd go driving around
- 26:43Speaker 3: and woors were everywhere, and then it slowly disappeared, and
- 26:48Speaker 3: now they're coming back again.
- 26:49Speaker 2: You're seeing, well, I see, I stand correct. There's an
- 26:52Speaker 2: off ramp. I took Western Boulevard, you know, the Western
- 26:55Speaker 2: off ramp on the south one oh one, and there
- 26:58Speaker 2: was a gal you know, on the off ramp, big
- 27:00Speaker 2: sign will stoop for food, okay.
- 27:04Speaker 3: And then when you pulled up it turntime. I'm not
- 27:06Speaker 3: that hungry.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's turned not you know, it's been a Saturday night.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I'm doing okay, you know, Yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 3: I'll have a salad, the all Right News Food News Amazon.
- 27:18Speaker 3: So these are interesting stores, the Amazon brick and mortars,
- 27:21Speaker 3: but they're looking to close these fresh and ghost stores.
- 27:24Speaker 3: They want to focus on delivery and I'll obviously they
- 27:27Speaker 3: own whole Foods as well, they're going to focus on that,
- 27:30Speaker 3: but they just that physical grocery store. You remember they
- 27:35Speaker 3: did it without people.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Yeah, the technology you'd walk in and you'd walk out
- 27:40Speaker 2: and didn't just it's not working.
- 27:43Speaker 3: It's not even with all that price points not working.
- 27:46Speaker 3: So they're gonna change.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Hey, Neil, I have a question because the Whole Foods
- 27:49Speaker 2: were ridiculously overpriced, I mean insanely overpriced, and now that
- 27:54Speaker 2: Amazon bought them, is there a discernible difference.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Have prices dropped? There were some price drops when Amazon
- 28:02Speaker 3: first came along, but a lot of them are tied to,
- 28:08Speaker 3: you know, proprietary connections like having a card or having
- 28:11Speaker 3: Amazon Prime or these types of things that you got
- 28:15Speaker 3: perked for being in the Anna the Amazon kind of ecosystem.
- 28:22Speaker 3: But they're still incredibly expensive. Yeah, I don't I don't
- 28:25Speaker 3: buy that.
- 28:25Speaker 2: There are stores which kind of need out there that
- 28:29Speaker 2: sell used food and I'm a bit. I'm a big
- 28:32Speaker 2: fan really good prices. Okay, we're done so much, I
- 28:38Speaker 2: will stop that. There is an app called too Good
- 28:42Speaker 2: to Go by.
- 28:43Speaker 3: The way and rest road restaurants. You can go on
- 28:47Speaker 3: there and look in your ear, I know, and they
- 28:48Speaker 3: and they should.
- 28:49Speaker 2: And the problem is that there's so much food that
- 28:52Speaker 2: we throw away. We could feed all the hungry people
- 28:55Speaker 2: in this absolutely about four goes. Yeah, but there's no
- 28:58Speaker 2: there's no mechanism for actually moving them over there.
- 29:02Speaker 3: For example, for example, restaurant food.
- 29:06Speaker 2: You think they would deliver what they is left at
- 29:09Speaker 2: the end of the day to the nearest homeless shelter.
- 29:11Speaker 2: They can't because of rules and regulations. The health department
- 29:15Speaker 2: puts up there like temperature, that sort of thing.
- 29:18Speaker 4: So does Bruno do it?
- 29:19Speaker 3: Then Bruno violates the law. Bruno is Bruno.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I don't want to say this publicly, but Bruno straight
- 29:28Speaker 2: out violates law and he'd be in big trouble. How
- 29:34Speaker 2: he serves pasta and he cooks pasta and serves it immediately.
- 29:38Speaker 3: And they have different kitchens and regulation, Yeah, they have
- 29:41Speaker 3: different kitchens. So yeah, taking it from the Anaheim White House, Yeah,
- 29:45Speaker 3: you know, if it has to be kept in at
- 29:47Speaker 3: a certain.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, he keeps it to the proper temperature.
- 29:50Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, he's in line. He's in line.
- 29:54Speaker 3: I don't I don't know how he does it either.
- 29:55Speaker 2: I mean, twenty five thousand meals a week, you figure
- 29:58Speaker 2: out how to do that.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Also married his brother.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yeah, well said okay, this is KF I am six forty.
- 30:06Speaker 3: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
