- 0:21that happens to autistic people quite often and essentially
- 0:23overloads one of our main causes of autism, meltdowns.
- 0:26Now if you're familiar with autism, you're familiar with
- 0:28meltdowns. This is uncomfortable outburst
- 0:30of emotions that happens when there is a loss of control in
- 0:34the environment of the autistic individual and it's not good.
- 0:37I myself do have these from time to time and I have to manage
- 0:40with them. So I've written down 3 tips to
- 0:41help navigate your way through these things.
- 0:43Now if you're new around here and you haven't downloaded my
- 0:45Autism Wifax PDF book, you can do right now from
- 0:48autismhacks.net and it's completely free and the link is
- 0:50in the description down below. OK guys, so the first one I'm
- 0:52going to talk about here is headphones Now always carrying
- 0:55noise cancelling headphones with you wherever you go.
- 0:57Now I actually have the Apple Airpod Max, I think they're
- 1:00called. Now these are noise cancelling
- 1:01headphones and they're just absolutely fantastic.
- 1:04As soon as you put them on, it kind of blocks out all the
- 1:05noise. And you can just actually, if
- 1:06you're in an environment that's sensory triggering, like an
- 1:08environment where it's too loud, noisy, it could be shopping,
- 1:10world train station, anywhere, put these headphones on and it
- 1:13just really does help. It dampens the noise.
- 1:16And it's kind of like one of those things that I would never
- 1:18leave home without because if I'm going somewhere, I know it's
- 1:20going to be noisy. I want to take my headphones
- 1:21because I want to kind of detach from that environment.
- 1:23That's a bit crazy and chaosic, right?
- 1:24So #2 is comfort over class? And I always use this rule,
- 1:27especially when I'm travelling, it's that I'm put on like
- 1:30pajamas or like sweats or anything that's super, super
- 1:32comfy because I want to be comfortable rather than looking
- 1:35stylish, right? And so if I'm travelling on an
- 1:37airplane or a bus or a car or whatever, I'll just really chill
- 1:40and just get into like the company's clothes ever.
- 1:41Now, as soon as I want to my destination, I'll just go to the
- 1:44restrooms and change into like professional clothes and I'll go
- 1:46into the event that I'm supposed to do.
- 1:47Now this is amazing because it gives you that control in the
- 1:50environment that you really need, especially when
- 1:52travelling, whereas travelling can be kind of quite out of
- 1:54control. So comfort over class wins every
- 1:56time. OK, so #3 is sunglasses.
- 1:58A lot of people overlook the fun, but carrying sunglasses is
- 2:01a really good way to navigate through social situations.
- 2:04And also people with sensitive to light sensitivity, like if
- 2:06the sun's too bright, if light are too bright, put sunglasses
- 2:09on helps kind of dampen that light going in and it dampens
- 2:12that effect of that century input.
- 2:14And also, if you're talking to somebody, this is a pro tip.
- 2:17They believe that you're looking at them in the eyes, even though
- 2:19it's difficult for a set of people to look people in the
- 2:20eyes because you can look anywhere around them, but you've
- 2:22got sunglasses on so they won't even know.
- 2:24Guys, if this video is life changing for you and anybody
- 2:26else, please share it in your social media account or leave me
- 2:29a comment down below. I read every comment and I'd
- 2:30love to interact. Also, guys, give this view a
- 2:32like and I'll see you in the next one.
- 2:34Peace.
