Transcript
- 0:04[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, and welcome to the MMTV podcast that new theme music here is not the new theme music of the show.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's the theme music of the A&E Classic Reality Television Series hoarders.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_02]: And, well, I know it's a football Monday, we're coming off of a long weekend, but we never really did a mid-season
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: recap.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: We never really stopped and pumped the brakes on it.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: And so we're going to take a one week break from from just recapping all the games and I want to play NFL hoarders with you Albert.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: How does that sound?
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm going to have to admit somewhere.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: I wolfed down my breakfast because I was up till two in the morning.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to have to admit that I've never watched the actual the show orders.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm glad that you said that.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to experience like help me out with the concept and everything, but I'm good.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: All right, I'm going to explain this to you and to everybody at home.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: So hoarders, if you haven't watched it on A&E, used to be one of my favorite shows until I realized that these people need a lot of help.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's not, it was, I'm not going to say funny at the beginning, but like kind of wild.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_02]: And then now it's just like, okay, these people need someone.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: to help them.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: But hoarders is when this team goes into someone's house and they're just collecting all this stuff and it could be anything.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: For example, this lady Albert used to keep all of her dead cats and ziplock bags.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty pretty nuts, right?
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: So there's an expert that comes in and has to talk to these people and be like, okay What's the purpose of zip lock bags to make sure it doesn't smell or preserve them?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I can't imagine that it helped that much.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: It looked, you know, everybody that goes into these houses is literally wearing like masks and stuff like that.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: Right, but
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: The expert comes in and at the end it's like okay, what can we reasonably throw away because we have too much stuff and and what is that meaning for you for you to keep and so
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: And we're doing that from an NFL standpoint where Albert, they're just some teams that I'm I'm good on and it's not to say that we won't really cap them for the rest of the season it's not really all done with them.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just like I'm finished.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: I can throw them away for this year.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, and then there are teams that we still want to hold and we still want to hold on to.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: and so I want to go up and down.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to kind of be randomly picking some teams.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: I got my power rankings and we're going to go through and we're going to decide whether we're going to keep these teams.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to hold on to them because something special can happen.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's worthwhile or that we could just throw in the garbage.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: We got the dumpster outside.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to toss it now that again, that's not what was it was a context so they can win the Super Bowl or they can get That they can win the Super Bowl that they can that they can still do something special and relevant in the context of like playoffs in winning playoff games and Being there at the end of the year.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: What matters?
- 3:08[SPEAKER_02]: And if, and if not, we just, we got the, the 30 yard dumpster out there, we got the incinerator and we're just going to, we're going to bring the crew and we're going to toss them in there again, that does not mean that next week we won't talk about the saints, you know, we're going to talk about the saints, but my guess is that they're not going to survive.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a little spoiler alert here.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: So let's get started and we'll knock out like two or three easy ones off the bat here Albert and I'll just go to the bottom three of my power rankings here the Saints, the Raiders and the Tennessee Titans are any of these teams to you.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: like, okay, I'm going to hold on to and I'm going to have some weird ones here, like the Raiders, I'm like, I don't know, but are you ready to toss these out?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: Can you with with a good feeling just toss these things into the dumpster?
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, again, that's like about context.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to the playoffs.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I can toss them out from that perspective for sure.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: Sure, yeah.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, now are these teams going to, you know, do they have bright futures, whatever, whatever?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, okay.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm ready to, I'm ready to chuck those teams as well.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: Here's where I want to pick one from from kind of the middle of the power rankings, and I think this is what's going to kind of get interesting.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do the Houston Texans.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, Houston Texans had a massive comeback.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: They were down what 26 to 10.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think at the start of the fourth quarter that game.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then some classic Davis Mills magic Albert brought the Houston brought them right back into it.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the Jaguars were when in the turnover battle there, when in time position.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they added all going for them and they had they faltered in a big way.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: Houston came back.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: This is probably like this is a win that could possibly turn your season around.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: Are you going to hold on to the Texans?
- 4:56[SPEAKER_02]: Are you ready to just kind of throw away?
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean, okay.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: That defense is so good.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think defense is so capable of turning it up to a level that I mean, like when they're at their best, they might be the NFL's best defense.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and they play in the AFC South, but that's got a different context now because the way the colds are playing, right?
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: So do you have a chance to catch the colds probably not, right?
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: They're what, four and five and the colds are
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: make it up three and a half games that's a lot to ask I just don't think this is their year so like I think I think the views are still bright you know I'm gonna price it a lot about the teams I'm throwing out but like I it just feels like for so many different reasons it hasn't been this year this won't be their year and you know the offensive line issue has been a problem the offensive line things been a problem that had receiver injuries and
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, I, I just, I don't know.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: I, I would say they're probably not going to make it.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: Nico Collins back in a big way.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: Um, Davis Mills kind of, you know, unlocking him a little bit.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's why you pay him 7 million bucks.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: You know, is that, you know, your quarterback has a concussion.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, but came back strong in this one, and so the AFC playoff picture, which is interesting, right?
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: So you have, in my mind, six teams that are pretty close to being locked in.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: The cults would have to absolutely fall apart.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos would have to fall apart.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: the patriots would have to fall apart.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: And then you have the winner of the AFC North in that four spot.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's probably going to be Baltimore at the end of the day.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: Pittsburgh is just running out of gas.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: Then you have the chargers who have seven wins.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: You've buffalo who's probably going to be there.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: And then you would assume that that seventh spot, if what eventually gets taken by the chiefs,
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think that's probably the fairest assumption at this point.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: The chiefs lost in Buffalo.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, we were talking about them.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not losing the rest of the year.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just done not really have the chiefs to win the AFC West.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think it's certainly possible.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: If I had to pick a team from the AFC to the Super Bowl right now, it might be the chiefs.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, I, I would, I would be pretty floored if the chiefs weren't in the
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: So in that sense, do you think that there's enough of you?
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: So remember, you're this old person Albert in your house full of garbage and you have to get things out and someone hands you the Houston Texans.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: And you say, are they capable enough that you want to hold on to them with the knowledge that the space in your home can no longer contain all of your clutter or are you just like, I'm ready to let the Houston Texans go?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm ready to let the Houston Texans go, oh, all right.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: Boom.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, are you?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: Textants are out.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I just, if you look at the playoff, if you're already there, you're just trying to get me there.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to get you there.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it's, I think that's a fun thing for me to do.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: Moving on, let's do Albert.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: What do you think about the Dallas Cowboys?
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: There are another one where they stay in the state of Texas.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: There are another one where I just don't feel like they have it this year.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I actually don't mind where they are going for.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: They have two first round picks in April.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: They've got like some new defensive pieces, you know, Quinnin Williams and Kenny Clark and I said, Odeezu, I'll give them like a real
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: a real nucleus in the middle of the of their defense of front when they get over Sean back I think that's some people are paying attention to when they get over Sean back if he is close to what he's been before that's a guy who you know I think has all pro potential and their young edge players you know I mean Donovan as Barack looks like he's going to be a real stud, but you know So I actually like look at them going forward and they become an intriguing team for
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Again, like I just like look at the ditch, they've kind of dug for themselves.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: They're not catching the eagles in the east.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, when you're starting, when you're sorting through, who the wild card teams are gonna be in the NFC, right?
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll can do that at the same exercise.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: You imagine either Seattle or Ram, so it'll be one of the wild cards, right?
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: You imagine that either the packers or the lions will be one of the wild cards.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then, well, who am I missing?
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: So here's what the, here's what the NFC playoff picture looks like, right now, Seahawks are.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: I could just go on the internet and pull it up instead of trying to do it.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_02]: I got Jagot.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_02]: Just Seahawks, comfortably the one seed we have the Eagles is the two Seahawks right now or the effective leader, all those Seahawks in the Rams play each other this weekend, effective leader of the NFC West.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: eagles to the packers three as the leader and we're taping this before Monday Night Football so lock and change there the buck and years obviously when in the AFC South then the Rams your your wild cards are the Rams the lions and the bears at this moment in time now here's what's interesting about Dallas
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: of all the teams that are buying for that last wild card spot because Chicago again I mean it really is kind of like I do you believe in the bear's question it's a do you believe in the bear's question and it's I do to some degree but do you believe in it enough
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: And it's interesting, I mean, like, analytics, the playoff probability thing, I'm sick of all this shit if I'm being honest with you, but everyone says that the 49ers, you know, the NFL analytics say the 49ers have the best shot at
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: you know, you have the 49ers, you have the Panthers, you have the Vikings and the Cowboys are kind of that last team before it completely falls off a cliff, right?
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: The Cardinals, the Falcons, the Commanders, the Saints, and the Giants.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, those teams have less than 8% or you know, whatever it was, less than 8%.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: Cowboys have a 4% playoff probability, but there's just something about that team, Albert, that I'm not quite ready to throw away, and I don't know about you, but I'm like, I, like,
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: they've got a group like I've got young players on both lines of scrimmage that you would think we'll get better over the course of year, right?
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: So should like ascend in an November and December, um, yeah, I mean, I, maybe I will hang on to them.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: They sound looking at it and I'm like, it's a bears level off.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: You're only two games behind them in the
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: But you do have a tie, I work with you, wonky.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: And think about this, okay?
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: So the bears remaining on their schedule.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, look at this.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: They still got, they got Detroit again, and let's be clear, they lost to the lines by 31 points the last time that they played, okay?
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: And this was a lines team that effectively
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: wasn't running on all cylinders with their offensive coordinator.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: Apparently.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: So this is a team that put up 52 points with an offensive coordinator that they didn't deem optimal.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: And so they got the lines on the schedule again.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: They got the 49ers that had time at in in San Francisco at a time where they should be healthier.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: They still have the Packers twice.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, they have the Eagles at Philly, and then they have Pittsburgh and they have Minnesota.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, and then Cleveland is sprinkled in there too.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's a really hard back end of the schedule, and I want to be fair because I'm going to give Dallas the benefit of the doubt here that I don't.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: For Chicago, but you start next Monday night.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: So you have the long Dallas has the long by.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so they get an extra day of rest Monday night football in Vegas against the Raiders.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: They should win that game.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: Then you get the Eagles at home and we have to remember that in week one
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they have the weird Monday Sunday Thursday turn, right?
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that the jazz guy's screwed on.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, although this isn't his bag because it's not a cross-country trip.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: But you remember week one, the Eagles played, the Cowboys play the Eagles tough, especially on the D-line.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: And this D-line is world's better now than it was in week one, and everyone's like, well, it'll take quinnimly and some time to adjust, note won't, because guess who quinnimly is defensive line coaches for the Cowboys?
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: The same guy, Aaron Wakeotten, who was his defensive line coach with legitts.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: This is a plug-in play situation.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: He could be excellent right away.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: So let's just play that game, play that scenario out where they beat the Raiders, which they should do.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: And then they come out and they like, they just clip the Eagles, right?
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe the Eagles wins.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: You're five, five and one.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: You're five, five and one?
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: All of a sudden.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, man.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm not.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: And then the bear start to kind of teeter a little bit.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like, all those teams and
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: like could San Francisco could just hit a wall I mean we saw we saw what happened yesterday they were just on Sunday the 49ers just got exhausted right and the Rams just kind of started running them ragged right I forgot about like the cowboy schedule though with all like the funky things that the two Thursday games in a row the Monday to Sunday Thursday turn they're playing both Thanksgiving and Christmas like all that you know what I mean like
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: Some teams have this as like a rallying crowd, I don't know.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's one of those weird things.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so we're gonna hold on to the Cowboys.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: Have you been looking for a natural way to relieve aches and discomfort?
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: The CBD gummies from Cornbread hemp are formulated to work with your body, not against it, guys on a busy Sunday night football, you're writing, you're podcasting, you're taking down notes, you're helping with the kids.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: I can't, I'm wired after these games, but the Cornbread gummies are perfect for just, you know, helping me chill out.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: Getting myself into a good headspace and getting to bed, sleeping through the night.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_02]: My sleep has been just so much better since I've started taking these.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: Coinbread Hems CBD gummies are made to help you feel better, whether it's stress discomfort or just needing a little relaxation.

- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: slash M-M-Q-B, use code M-M-Q-B at checkout.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's cornbreadhemp.com slash M-M-Q-B, use code M-M-Q-B.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: Let's not go to a few more Albert.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm guessing you have no reservations here for me tossing out the commanders, the cardinals, the giants, the jets, or the browns.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: So the commanders, all right, so let's go through, the commanders have lost the last four games.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: They've lost five in a row.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: They're last four by 22, 21, 24, and 22 points.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's stunning.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like I noticed that last night, like when I was putting it in my column, that is mind-blowing.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: Plus, James hurt.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yeah, I'm, I'm, I, this is, this is the commander's, this is like the correction from last year.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, like last year, they had a software schedule, they had a ton of injury luck, you know, and this year, it feels like all of it's coming crashing down on them.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so there's three and seven, their margin for their short, they go to Madrid this weekend.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're, they're, they're dogs to the dolphins, right?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, yes, which is, I mean, amazing.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: You, imagine if I told you that a month ago, that they were going to be dogs to the dolphins in Madrid, but they are, um, yeah, I can't see them.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: I like I have a hard time with Jane being worried that their injury situation being what it is, um, you know, to me like their season sort of ended in that Sunday night game against Seattle where, um, they lost Jane Daniels Martian, a lot of more in Luke McAfrey
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and similarly, I mean, I think, you know, as spirited as the jet's performance was against Cleveland yesterday.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm good.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: The jets are hoping to be the 2021 alliance right now, you know, like where they can turn on at the end of the year.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: Have some positive momentum going in the next year.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's where this year went for that.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: will see I can't imagine them getting two straight kick and punt returns for touchdowns on every game that that tends to help but we'll see the Saints I mean yes they they got off their they got off their took us on Sunday with a win over the Panthers you know and Tyler Chuck looked good I'm not you know I'm I'm not saying that
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: all hope is lost.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if they can get into a position where shock looks good enough that they can take another position and just get through next year before the big quarterback drafts in 2027, I think that would be phenomenal.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: And we don't put a cast calendar.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: We have six teams now with two or fewer wins.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: Five of the six have two.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: So the race
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: He did right now.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why like, um, and, and just raise the browns tight and say it's in giants.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: I heard a lot of jet fans griping yesterday about, you know, well, we can't even tank right.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I will say this like I think for them specifically, winning that game yesterday was important.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think it matters that they're in that position this coming year, unless you're completely sold on Mendoza as a quarterback.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: And right.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that some people are, some people really like Mendoza, but this is not, I don't know.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: Not the quarterback dress.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't feel that way anyway.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: And even some of the guys like a, you know, Dante more from Oregon looks like he's going to go back to school.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Nora Sellers has a ton of tools.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't played up to his potential yet.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: Not seeing that can't happen, but there's, you know, talk that he could go back to school too.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, it does feel like this is another one of those.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's not, it's not like what last year was.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a little better better than last year, but it's not a great year.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I think we said that going in like where this was really one of those years where you didn't have like, I remember going into 24, we knew like, going into the 23 football season, the 24 draft cycle, we knew, all right, almost certainly Caleb Williams gonna be a top five pick, almost certainly Drake Mays gonna be a top five pick, right?
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: And then other guys wound up playing their way into that range, this year was never that, right?
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: This year was we have five or six guys who are like ever chance to play themselves into that spot, but they aren't there yet.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: And like, look at what happened over the last few weeks, through hours out for the year, Garrett Nussmire got benched.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: on Saturday which is wild you know what I mean like in the middle of the Alabama game and then yeah I mean you've got guys like Mendoza and more who kind of come out of nowhere but I don't know if I'm you know again like not to turn this into another conversation corner but like I just I look at like what the best quarterbacks of cable will have physically and I just have a hard time really
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: pushing all my chips into somebody who's not that, you know, like we're, you know, like if you're going to be going up against Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, like
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: You have to have somebody who's got, and that's why I think like Caleb Williams and Drake May and Jane Daniels get drafted because you can envision a scenario where those guys are able to compete with sort of the superhero talents of the NFL at that position on a year and a year up basis.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: right.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think Bonyx represents to me.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: And this is going to sound like an insult to him, but it's not.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: Bonyx represents to me the bare minimum that you need out of a quarterback in an in the draft right now.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think a lot, it needs to be right around Bonyx too.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: It feels out there, you know?
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: And even he said, you know, some some up and down moments this year.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing good.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: The house now.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: We're starting to get back to the living room.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: We're starting to get back to sitting room.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: There's the couch that we haven't seen in 13 years.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: There's another cat in a plastic bag in there, just kidding.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: Do you should see this, but like, like,
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you and Emily want to have a date night one night and just kind of pop that on.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's on Netflix.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to just kind of really just give yourself the HBGVs, I again, I can't recommend this enough.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's a tough situation.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get through such things.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: I did not think I was going to pop on here.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: And like, you hear about some chasm and a cat's plastic bags.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying, hang on.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: Hell yeah, um, uh, there's like what I told you is not the grossest thing either.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I'm just saying, uh, so let's do some easy keeps here.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: Seahawks, Rams, Colts, Patriots, Lions, Broncos, Eagles, Bills, Chargers.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: Those are those are nine teams that I think right off the bat, no problem.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: I said, we said, C-hawks, C-hawks, Rams, yes, holds, yes, Patriots, yes, lions, yes, Broncos, yes, Eagles, yes, Bills, yes, Chargers, yes, now I'm not saying all those teams can get to the Super Bowl, but are those teams capable of wanting
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think which teams to you don't have, like, like, like, again.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_02]: Well, using last year, like, where the commanders were effectively, one getting, now they got blown out in the title game, right?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think like, I put the, I put the cults, the Broncos and the Patriots in the commanders category from last year, where it's like, if the draws favorable, they
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's risk for them getting exposed a little bit, you know what I mean like at the end.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought a lot of, I'm just worried about the Bronco's ability to keep up in a shootout, you know what I mean like, and with against the giants.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: So with that might be worried about their ability to keep up in a shootout.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: And like I love their defense, but
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: There's a good chance that you're going to have to win different types of fights in the playoffs.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you have to be able to win the most types of fights.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: So can you win that type of fight if you're the Broncos?
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's an open question.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: The cults, I can't find a weakness on a cult.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like a real weakness.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I just feel like do they have that gear, you know, again, like where when you're
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: and you just kind of get into the fourth quarter and now all of a sudden it's like the Texans last year hanging around with the chiefs until the fourth quarter and then the chiefs punch the gas at the end you know what I mean like in the games over and I just feel like the cults would be susceptible and that sort of situation um... and I think the patriots are this year's commanders like really this year's commanders where
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: you know, they're well coach.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: There's a very discernible play style.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a young quarterback who's performing a historic level.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: They've made it work with a lot of older veterans that they have background with.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, it's almost to a T with the commanders did last year.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: And so the commanders,
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: last year they beat the box in Tampa, which is great win, but you draw the NFC South champion, right, like in that in that spot.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the box are better now than they were last year.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're one upset upset away from from from getting to the NFC title game, which they pull that upset into Troy, beating a lion's team that was enormously beat up.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: So like I say with the Patriots, I look at them the same way, where it's like, are they capable of pulling one upset in the playoffs?
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: Can they pull like three in a row?
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so, so like I love where they're at and where they're going and I actually think they've acted really responsibly over the last couple of weeks and not getting over their skis with their build and I love, you know, the coach quarterback combination no question with Rable and may but I'd be surprised if like we're looking up at the end of the January and they're in the AFC title game.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: I still personally think it's Kansas City Buffalo situation, but maybe I'm crazy.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so I want to, I want to second my concerns, you'd mention, you know, your concerns with the cults and running out of gas.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: I second that this is two weeks in a row now, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta, who have really gotten into Daniel Jones's grill.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: I was surprised, because that offensive line was just had been a strike for them.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: And that feels like it's hard to not die.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: You'd go last two weeks, you know what I mean?
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I think a lot of it too though, Albert is,
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: what happens, and I guess we saw this a little bit effectively with Pittsburgh, what happens if you play an explosive offense, that gets up on you early, and then can rush Daniel Jenner.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: And that's yeah.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: And force you to keep John and Taylor in as a protector.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: So me and to me, that might be the most compelling argument for Jonathan Taylor's most valuable player.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: And you can kind of turn it into, you can force the calls to play catch up.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: It becomes a different game and I don't think, like, I don't think the endo Jones is a fraud.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: I just think he's one of these quarterbacks that is sort of dependent on his circumstances, which is 90% of them.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's like to be clear.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: There's only three that aren't, right?
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like, right, it's right.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're almost all and that's not an insult, by the way.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like do you know how difficult it is like to carry it to be like the sort of eraser like of of of of of of the sort of eraser of of flaws That like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning were you know like their peak where it was like oh, yeah We've got an offensive line issue.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just get rid of the ball faster like that sounds simple
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's really hard to do that, right?
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, my receivers aren't as good this year.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll just throw into tighter windows.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there are very few quarterbacks that are capable of being
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: of lifting the operation on to their shoulders, very few and again, like it's not an insult saying you're not one, but I don't think Daniel Jones is when he walked into a really good situation in Andy and to his credit, he's played great.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_00]: But that doesn't mean like if they're playing from behind and you're able to eliminate Jonathan Taylor from the game, you change dynamic on their offensive line, you really, I mean limit what their best players capable of doing to you, it becomes a different game.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I think the last two weeks you're right, like they now I thought they showed great fight and grit and all of that last night or yesterday and and being able to to beat the falcons the way they did in Germany, but you know, when they're when they're when they get into one of those holes against a better team, it can be a different story.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: Choosing work boots used to mean sacrificing comfort or durability.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: If they felt good, they didn't last.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_02]: And if they lasted, they wrecked your feet.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: Brunt thought that was BS.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_02]: So they built tough boots that feel great from day one.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: No breaking, no sore feet.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: Because people out there doing real work shouldn't have to choose between comfort and durability.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: Now I got the Marin boots and not only do they look great, like I've worn them too.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: I've worn them a church.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: I've worn them out on the town.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: I've worn them out to dinner.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I've also worn them in the yard when I'm raking leaves and I'm fixing my wall doing a little bit of stone work, whatever it is.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: These are no doubt the most comfortable work boots I've ever worn and they're built to perform.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: Whether you need waterproof, safety toast, soft toast, pull on, lace up.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_02]: They've got options that can handle whatever jobs that you're walking into.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_02]: And brunch stands behind what they make.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: You can wear them to work, and if they're not right for you, send them back.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know any other brand doing that.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's a company that believes in their product.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: Brunt isn't just about work boots.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: They offer a full range of high-performance skier built for tough jobs, from heavy-duty workpants to weather-resistant jackets, brunt designs durable, reliable workware.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: to keep you protected and productive in any condition.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: Brent was tired of the workware brands out there cutting corners.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: You work too hard to be stuck in uncomfortable boots that don't hold up, so they built something better.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: Boots that are insanely comfortable and built for any job site.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: For a limited time, our listeners can get $10 off at Brent when you use code mmqb at checkout.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_02]: just head to bruntworkware.com and use the code MMQB and you're good to go.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: And after you order, they'll ask where you heard about brunt.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: Do us a favor and tell them it was from this show.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_02]: I also Albert want to put that bills team into a category now where it's like, okay, I'm I'm going to hold on to them because I can't not hold on to them, but I mean, they're starting to freak me out a little bit.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this defense was a weird, like, he's roddled by injury.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: That was a, she got all over your shoes game.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: I, it's, it was hard to explain that one.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: There were like about three or four different points.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: There were three or four different points in the second half, or it was like, okay, like, here they come.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then there'll be a turnover, you know?
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or there'll be a three in it.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be just, there were there, there's there's an inexplicable things happening there.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: You think there was a hidden boat sitch going on?
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like you think, uh, you think they might have been boat, boat party?
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you think?
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like taking advantage of South Florida in November?
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just going out in the boat with Bebes.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, who's like a hot, who's like a hot musician now, shallamae, he's in the orc guy though.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_02]: If you're the dolphins, wouldn't you want that?
- 32:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you'd almost hire somebody in the boat world whose job would be to take these guys out on a boat and get them absolutely shit wrecked the day before a game.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that would be like part of your plan.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: Cause fear of Buffalo, it's pretty dreary most of the time, whether it's pretty depressing.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: And you get down to Miami, you just want hop on the boat.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, maybe catch some marlins?
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, Matt, but like, I'll go to your point, right?
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: They looked gasped, it was hot, and then when they started coming back, there was the downpour, right?
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: And so it made the whole thing complicated, you could excuse them, I guess, in that regard.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, this week's going to be interesting, because they play Tampa and Tampa is coming off of a loss.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I big it's more behalf to have it situation for Buffalo than it is for Tampa because I think Tampa is a little bit insulated by the division that there is yeah yeah I don't think it was like at them yeah what I mean like I like I think both teams have to come into that game playing with some level of desperation.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: and then the bills play on Thursday night after that.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: So like this, this suddenly becomes like I think a pretty critical five-day stretch for them coming up.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: If they can come out of it at eight and three, now all of a sudden, you know, you're in position to run off a couple of wins and take the division back from New England in the middle of the center, which I cannot believe I'm saying that.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 34:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's where we are.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: Wild.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so we feel pretty good about them.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'm going to go back on the flip side of this and start giving us some real, like we have to really think about this.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: And here's a team that I'm going to throw at you Albert, just because of yesterday.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: that I'm not possibly ready to get rid of and I know this sounds insane because they literally have a 1% chance of making the playoffs.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: But the dolphins yesterday, and if you went and you watch watch the clips of their post game locker room where they're all like fluently have a lot of guns or something.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're just like surfing and laundry bins,
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: This is emblematic of this team struggles because, you know, they just don't really see me to care all that much and it's not like it's certainly not an act like you've been there situation, but that is one weird team that has had some strangely good defensive performances this year and have Mike McDaniel an offense and like what if I mean I don't know am I crazy here should I just toss this team into this.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: Cockas, they got a good shot to one on Sunday morning, right?
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then they're going into their buy.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: We've got vibes of four and seven.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_00]: And then they have the Saints and Jets coming out of their buy.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'm saying.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: And now, there's six and seven going into Monday night football.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's very... Six and seven.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for that.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate it, but look at the schedule.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: Look at the schedule.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_02]: You're six and seven at Pittsburgh.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: And by that point, but that point, you know, I don't know what the steel is off in school.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do a corner.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do it.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do it.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do it.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: I can't do it.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do it.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do it.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do it.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: I just talk myself into it.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, how much of this is, though, I mean, how much of this is, like, the dead cat bounce, you know what I mean?
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like, they just cut their general manager fired.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I will say like they have not quit on Mike.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like for all that talk of like, and I I heard the same stuff everybody else did and how like the team and and.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of like from what I was hearing a lot of displeasure over the, you know, star tree, but the certain players have gotten over the last few years and the rank and file wasn't happy with it, but I mean, they, I mean, if you just look at the games since like that dark, dark day in Cleveland for them, the Falcons, like they blow the Falcons out.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: Then that ball to more game was close through a half, right?
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: And the Ravens kind of put their foot in the gas and the Thursday night and however, those things going, then you'd be Buffalo, like they haven't quit, you know?
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: And there's still players in that team.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_00]: There's still, I mean, it's not the worst roster in the league.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: I see what you're saying.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, I'm talking to myself into it.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, I love that you called it a dead cat bounce when a lot of this episode is centered around dead cats.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_02]: So that was good.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: That was actually accidental, but I'll pretend first wasn't it.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: So you're ready to throw away the dolphins.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: I might keep them.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: I might keep them.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to keep them one more week.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: You must throw them away.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_02]: But just because God, that's schedule.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the schedule though, the schedule, yeah.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think we can speak in my Sunday?
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of do.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think how you're going into the buy with, I don't know.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what if this is a funky team?
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: This is a funky team, like, I mean, they go toe to toe at the chargers and then get blown out by the Browns.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_00]: They'd be the Jets than loose the Panthers.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_00]: They blow out the falcons.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_00]: They probably should have beat the patriots or only in the year.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: They probably should have beat the Panthers.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: This could look a lot different.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: You're right about that.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like imagine if they beat the Panthers and just held on,
- 38:56[SPEAKER_02]: you know what I mean like I don't know all of a sudden I'm looking at this I don't know that's gonna be a fun one we'll see what happens there um all right let's go to another couple easy keepers here I don't think we're gonna get rid of the chiefs I don't think we're gonna get rid of the buccaneers I don't think we're gonna get rid of the packers I think we're good on those right chiefs buccaneers patters and who else those three
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: No, yeah, I don't think there's any, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, let's go over to the Carolina Panthers.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, Carolina Panthers.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: are five and five, they are an incredibly jekyll and hidey team.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_02]: They're very, yeah, 14% chance of making the playoffs according to made-up numbers that we have no idea what they mean, same numbers that are probably telling us.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the roster games are sort of the story that they're season, right?
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: They beat the packers and lose to the Saints.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's no sense.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: Score seven points against New Orleans.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_02]: Let's look realistically at how this offense.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_02]: is winning.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, the Cowboys game they scored 30 points, and that was like a Riko Dattle revenge game.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: So let's not put too much on that.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: Since then, you beat the jets by scoring 13 points.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: You score 9 points in a blowout 40 to 9 loss to a bill's team that lost to the dolphins.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: Then you beat the Packers by scoring 16 points, then you scored 7 points in a loss to the same.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's about where we are with this team right now.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right, and I know this sounds insane and I'm talking about this unbelievable because they were like historically bad on defense last year Ezra ever I'm telling you man deserves so please No one's paying attention to him, but he is a very I mean, he's just talking to people who've worked with him very bright head coaching candidate
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: 100% I mean, I think this guy is going to be interviewing for head coaching jobs just like any has in the past so it's not you know, I don't think that's any any semblance of a surprise, but Is it nuts that I'm holding on to the dolphins and I'm throwing away the Carolina Panthers a little bit, but they're not going to catch.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_00]: So like I go back to like when we my my revelation there when we were talking about the Cowboys, which is that like that last NFC wild card spot could be like wildly up for grabs, you know, like like because you figure there'll be a two NFC North teams there'll be two NFC West teams and then who's the third wild card right so is it Chicago or you locked in on Chicago.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like you look at the NFC East, like the Cowboys may be still hanging around and the Vikings get their house in order, um, are the Niners going to be there at the end, which I think they are because they're schedule.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know if the Panthers are going to playoffs.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think the Panthers are going to the playoffs, and I just think oddly, I see more, I see more of an opening with that last spot.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: in the AFC, which I know sounds crazy, but I just see just a slight, because I know that the chiefs are going to get up there and they're going to get one of those spots.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_02]: But there is just that one, and the Ravens will get up there.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll see.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm allowed to, you know, people are coming in and tossing on my possessions.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm allowed to have a weird one.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_02]: So we're gonna disagree.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna agree to disagree on some of these.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that I'm ready.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm ready to chuck the Panthers.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go over to,
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: Are you are you up on the whole JJ McCarthy alter ego thing by the way nine.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_02]: What are your thoughts.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_02]: So you toss a nine or you keep a nine right now.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: The Vikings lost this weekend and they're just they're too well coach.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_00]: They're too talented.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's got to be a chance that it clicks for JJ, you know, he's had a weird year, but there's just too much talent and ability on that roster.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_00]: I do think like, I mean, look, one thing I can say with some level of certainty is like they do want to get answers on him and figure out what they've gotten him by the end of the year.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like I don't think that like it's locked in that he's the quarterback in 2026 there because like that's too good a team for them to just like keep going with something that are not sure is going to work so like JJ has got a lot on the line over the rest of the year like to prove that he is the guy for them going forward.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: But he's a good player, he's competitive.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's just got to cut out the mistakes.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_00]: And we're a couple of really bad turnovers in that game yesterday, you know?
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I guess a good Ravens team.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: So I have trouble throwing any team coach by Kevin O'Connell with that sort of roster out.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna keep him.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_02]: Let's save nine, nine's good.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_02]: The 49ers, I think that we can all agree.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's team that is possibly getting healthier.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if there's a Mac Jones and Brock Perti discussion to be had when Brock's health has played well, I don't know.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what do you think?
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think that Kyle Shanahan has a look, like they're probably one in one, at this point, right, because Brock Perti was healthy enough to be the emergency quarterback.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think if I heard his press conference correctly enough, so that means that he could have played, and but you're okay with letting Mac Jones take another week, which means to me it's like, you don't see the drop-off as that significant.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know what I mean?
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so we had to play a schedule game with him.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Arizona Carolina Cleveland.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's the next three games.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: Airs it a little bit.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: They wouldn't know.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, they wouldn't have, then they've got nine wins going into their buy.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_00]: So like that's what, and then they come out of the buy and they play Tennessee.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_00]: So if these guys take care of business, they're 10 wins.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, going into the in Apple asks, on I think that's a Monday night game.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I just do the eight 15 next.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's a Monday night game.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_00]: So they've got 10 wins going into the in Apple.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's on December 22nd.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I mean, I think that that's a, I'm going to keep the Niners, I, I, I still think Brock does Brock's more talent at the Mac.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 45:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think Brock does some things that Mac doesn't, but I love the way that Mac's playing.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_00]: And.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, do you think of the boost to having Brendan and I you back at some point like this is right around when they expected to get him back.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_00]: So are we talking about him coming back into the equation now?
- 46:10[SPEAKER_00]: You've got the ability to maybe outscore some people on offense that you didn't have before.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: The defense is a becoming a problem and it's not, I mean look.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's some, there's a breaking point for everybody, right?
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: Robert saw it to tremendous job there over the course this year.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I think they've just reached their breaking point with the injuries, you know?
- 46:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like obviously both in Warner or two huge injuries, then the lose McHell Williams, their first round pick, it just feels to me like the defense is kind of duct taped together to the point where they've got to play a certain style of the win.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Brock Perti probably gives them the best chance to play that style.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think this team is gonna be good enough and dangerous enough.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if they're that young defense.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I knew that was a bad match up against the Rams and they came out in 13 personnel, 49ers of the lightest blocks defense in the NFL and they came out with those three tight ends and they just, that was a middle finger game.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_02]: It was a bad match up for where the 49ers are at this point and I'm not ready to make grand extrapolations off of that game.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't think that there's anything
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: really to be seriously taken away from that um you know see right I mean I think that they're there I have the 49ers on and over for 10 and a half wins this year so I'm kind of kind of sweating that one out but I think they'll get there now one's gonna be so they win the next foreign row than you're at 10 but then they have a cold spares and sea hocks we'll see so
- 47:50[SPEAKER_00]: Somehow you can see it's not coming this year.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_00]: Dad got into the ground and November 30th.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's when Christmas was canceled.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: Dad got in a little trouble on underdog.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that we'll see what happens.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_02]: The Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm starting to, and you could see it.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like, so you and I have both.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_02]: We've both run road races in our time.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_02]: And there's always that time in a race where
- 48:22[SPEAKER_02]: You're exhausted and you look behind you and there's just a guy that feels like he's on cloud 90s vibe into his music and you're like how the Christ is this person looks so good and looks so intact and then in about 10 minutes that guy's going to blow past you like like a Texas wind and you're not going to see him again I feel like that's Pittsburgh for me when when we watch them last night on Sunday night football.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_02]: have to adjust defensively.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: There were breakdowns, right?
- 48:53[SPEAKER_02]: They had to move Jalen Ramsey back to corner.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: There were some things that they didn't want to do that they had to do.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: They got pants in that regard.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_02]: And my toddler keeps like kind of shit talking this offense casually at the podium.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if that's an Aaron Rodgers issue.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_02]: I
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: I am not one to say that it's an art Smith issue.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_02]: I like art.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's a good coordinator.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_02]: But this team to me is, I'm obviously not going to throw them away today, but it give me another week like last week.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm tossing them like I don't want to... Who would you pick?
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: Who do you pick to win the air scene north today?
- 49:25[SPEAKER_02]: The Ravens.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's even close.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_00]: And how wild is that?
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's funny because I had, um,
- 49:33[SPEAKER_00]: I remember seeing like some TV segment on what's wrong with the Ravens like a month ago.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I wanted to like, I wanted to throw my remote with the screen because it was every scene.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's art.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen their an activist like is they're an activist is like an all-pro team.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_00]: So like, please look at their an activist and look, and I went back and looked at it yesterday.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was week five.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_00]: They had $100 million on the cap on their, on their inactive list, $100 million on the cap.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_00]: On their inactive list, 20 pro walls.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's, I mean, it's just like, like, they are still one of the most town in teams in football.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_00]: Is it perfect?
- 50:14[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Jai Yirale Alexander, like, that didn't work out, right?
- 50:17[SPEAKER_00]: So there have been some things that haven't worked out according to plan, but they felt like coming into this year.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_00]: This was one of the most town in Ross,
- 50:27[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to put their foot on the gas here now.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_00]: I mean Lamar didn't even play that well yesterday went into Minnesota and like kind of handled the Vikings, you know, right.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I just I, I think Baltimore is going to win the division.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think Baltimore like when the division going away.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: I do too, I totally agree.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_02]: So it's safe to say about it.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm both feel like it just feels like the steel is a kind of hopping and puffing already.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: And part of that's just being so old and so many key spots.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like now, that holds when they're able to turn up the past rush and really get after Daniel Jones.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why that can't be more consistent.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like last night playing against the Chargers team, and they sat just in Herbert five times, but the Chargers were able to sort of control that game.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: And there's just looking in consistency to it.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that probably relates back to, again, some of the age and Q spots that they're carrying.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll hold on to them for now, but it's not gonna be,
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's it's not a they're in that middle pile where like, okay, if you come back again, and I still have to get rid of more stuff.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to get rid of them.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_02]: And we, you know, out of my top 10 teams in the NFL right now, we still didn't talk about the Ravens, but I think I can make the assumption that you and I are both very bullish on the Ravens.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're not going to have to be sure.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not getting rid of them.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so we have a couple teams left and I saved kind of the the more interesting ones for last.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_02]: But I will ask you quickly, Chicago Bears, right?
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: You can't throw them away right now.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like, right?
- 52:05[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm with you.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I think what's interesting about them, the most interesting thing about them to me, is that like, so like the last couple of weeks, they've been able to get game-winning place from Caleb Williams, right?
- 52:20[SPEAKER_00]: the throw to lovelin uh... against the bangles and then yesterday the big runs towards the end uh... that caliper a cable cable was able to break contained and on both both of them the two lot the two drives within the games last six minutes break down the last side line one for touch down one that i think put them on like the one uh... the interesting thing about the bears
- 52:43[SPEAKER_00]: is that they were winning without Caleb playing very well for much of the year.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's starting to grow and come along and I think Ben Johnson's process is starting to take with him a little bit.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_00]: So we talk about like teams that are able to win different types of fights.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_00]: are the bears becoming that now because they had to become that early in the year because they weren't like always getting great quarterback play and if the quarterback play improves, now are you talking about our team that's increasingly dangerous because they're able to lean on their quarterback when they need to but they don't have to because they've developed sort of those other punches that they can throw.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm with you.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: I, that's like, I'm not putting away the possibility that this team is the sneaky commanders of
- 53:35[SPEAKER_02]: Last week either, you know, because and and I agree with your comparison that it's probably New England, but I think that what's what makes this a little more apt to me is, I mean, we didn't think that Washington was anything until really after that Hail Mary game.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, we thought things were going wrong now, right?
- 53:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but yeah, it was like a couple of it was about a month before that, but
- 53:56[SPEAKER_02]: Same thing with Chicago where it's like, okay, sometimes the defense is there.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes it's not sometimes quarterback.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_02]: There's sometimes not sometimes the offense.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_02]: There's sometimes not and then all of a sudden the rubber meets the road and and they just take off and Yeah, Johnson's just done a phenomenal job on this and I urge anybody that's reading or that's listening to check out because Albert's got bears related takeaways up on as I don't come and bears at
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: Vikings this week is a really interesting game right because if Brian Flora is picks them apart then I think we have our answer and if Ben Johnson picks Brian Flora's part I think we also have our answer which is you know we'll we'll know a lot more about them.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_02]: Sheep in the bears.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_02]: in the coming days.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_02]: Keep in the bears.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_02]: So we have three teams left and I think that the first one here is a Cincinnati Bengals.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_02]: Albert, are you?
- 54:48[SPEAKER_02]: Are you done?
- 54:49[SPEAKER_02]: Are you good?
- 54:50[SPEAKER_02]: Because we're keeping some weird teams.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm fighting for the dolphins.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm fighting for the cowboys.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_02]: So you're going to stand on a table for the Bengals or no?
- 55:01[SPEAKER_00]: They're one in six in their last seven.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't realize it until I just looked at it.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_00]: And they're coming off there by, and they're at Pittsburgh.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: And this is another one that sort of shapes up as a really important game for both teams, right?
- 55:17[SPEAKER_02]: Not only of the at Pittsburgh Albert, it's at Pittsburgh New England at home against the Patriots, at Baltimore, at Buffalo, at Baltimore.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm ready.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'm good.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_00]: All right, I think I just, I mean, for me, this has always been sort of a test
- 55:35[SPEAKER_00]: I had week 15 circle that was like the earliest burrow could come back.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there will have slices like you would have to be, I think like the you have to be two and two at worst right over the next four and you and you really have to like realistically the most realistic to win for Cincinnati are the next two.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_00]: Because I didn't go into Baltimore going into Buffalo.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_00]: So...
- 56:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're going to find out the next two weeks, but yeah, I just think it's too tough for road.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_00]: See, that's the thing is, like, what's interesting about them, too, is like, once you get to the other side of that, and that was the whole reason why you look at it and said, okay, like, maybe they can do it, is that last month of the season after the ball, after the second Baltimore game, at Miami, Arizona, Cleveland, you know, I just don't, yeah, that's
- 56:39[SPEAKER_02]: agreed set and it's crazy.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's like Flacco did what you would hope he would do in those games.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, you don't do But it's he's been there has done exactly what you traded for him.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_00]: What you were looking for you traded for him, right?
- 56:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's one hundred percent what you what you were looking for and
- 57:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, man is that defense bad and like I don't know if it's going to mean Algolden gets fired could have put Zack Taylor in trouble.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the way that organization generally operates, right?
- 57:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, I sort of look at it.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: You look at what Lou and Rumo has been able to accomplish an Indianapolis and it's like, this is like maybe like a tear down of a stud situation on a defensive side of the ball for them.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm not, uh, I'm not fighting you to hold on to Cincinnati.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_03]: I can't hold on to it.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, this is like, um,
- 57:39[SPEAKER_02]: This is like, okay, now we've got the living room.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_02]: We've got the kitchen.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_00]: We've got a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of
- 58:07[SPEAKER_00]: And you wonder what is going to get to a point in frustration for him too, because in twenty one, he gets in the Super Bowl in twenty two, puts them right on the doorstep again in the F.C.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_00]: title game and now, you know, it sure looks like, you know, it's, you know, whether or not they're going to be able to get back to that level again, like they got a lot of work to do.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_00]: There are another like Jacqueline Hyde, like there's free in six right now.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_00]: They aren't wearing that division.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, again, it's like one of those like the seven seed in the NFC is really up for grabs, right?
- 58:50[SPEAKER_00]: And they do have a chance coming out of this one.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I like I kind of like I didn't realize they were one of the teams that they they decided to forego the buy.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they give the teams those choice of when they when they go overseas, sometimes like do you want the buyer not.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_00]: But look at their next three games.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_02]: What do we got?
- 59:11[SPEAKER_02]: What do we got?
- 59:11[SPEAKER_02]: What do we got?
- 59:15[SPEAKER_00]: Just look at their next three games.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, hold on here.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_02]: box it up a little doesn't it?
- 59:25[SPEAKER_02]: Panther Saints jets.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I can't I can't okay.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_02]: So you can't.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_02]: I can't, I can't toss them.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_00]: I can't either, because I, that's six and six then.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_00]: If I, if I didn't throw these up for grabs, and like yes, it gets tougher from there, but not impossible, you know, like so.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_00]: They would just have to, here's what they would need to do.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_00]: They'd need to get to 9 and 8.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I will throw, this is close because, so what you're talking about is, okay, you win your next three, then you're six and six.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: And then, like, if you give them the games over Arizona, New Orleans, then that's eight wins, and a hate point in this game.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_00]: But then you would have to have them upsetting you to see rocks, the bucks are the ramps.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_00]: And then they're at nine.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_00]: The bucks are toss up, right?
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_00]: Because they always play the box stuff.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_02]: They always play the box tough and listen if I if I can't get rid of If I can't get rid of the cowboys that I can't Right for you that can be right.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_00]: I agree with that.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_02]: Blast is the team that I just cannot figure out is the Jacksonville Jaguars and That that game was gutting.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_02]: you know what it's it's weird now to see them losing games where they still get the Campanali bounce right where they're still getting all the turnovers and you know everything is kind of just slowed down to a crawl or to a halt with this team and
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_02]: The offense is just kind of muddled up again and to have broken down to that level on the back end of that game and to have Davis Mills be the guy that's really coming out and enlighten you on fire.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, man.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like I understand that I'm keeping some weird teams including the dolphins, but is it weird to me that like I almost like that team better down the stretch.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: Then
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_02]: than the Jaguars, I just don't know.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think now we're starting to see a little bit of the, we're starting to see the flip side of youth and, you know, all this kind of stuff.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, listen, the Jaguars still have both of their colds games.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_02]: They have the Broncos.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_02]: They have the chargers.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_00]: They have the opportunity is what you're saying to, I don't think, no, you know, I don't know.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_00]: There one win was, like, could have very easily been a loss.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_00]: Two of them are below us, they blew a big lead in the other one.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I, I don't think they're going to beat the Chargers this way.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_00]: Do you?
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:02:12[SPEAKER_02]: I really don't.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_00]: I, I just like, I look at their schedule and then, you know, yeah.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the AFC, if you figure right now, Indianapolis, Denver, New England, we're going to do this again, right?
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_00]: And if we just give them their divisions, right?
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_00]: Which I don't think that'll be, I don't think all three of those teams will win their divisions, but you give those three teams their divisions.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_00]: Then you get Baltimore in the north, which, you know, obviously, Jacksonville doesn't have access to that playoff spot.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_00]: Then you figure Buffalo and Kansas City will also be in.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_00]: Now we're talking Pittsburgh, the chargers, you know, bolts, Pittsburgh of the chargers, like are they going to get in over those team to I just don't think so.
- 1:02:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_00]: Goodbye.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_00]: See you later, Jacksonville.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_00]: Nice start for the William Cohen era, though.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean that sincerely.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not being sarcastic.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like it has been a nice start for us.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_00]: Let's be him Cohen here.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: I did.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: I can't give a guy.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, yeah, my tone sounded bad there.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to make sure I clarify that.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we just taught him it.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, real nice job guy, you know.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_00]: But I just like, I think that they're, I would say,
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: I would say they're gonna finish like eight and nine.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_00]: What would be my guess?
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_00]: Which is like a good step for them and gives you something to build off of.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_00]: Are you sold that for Liam and James Clies to turn the Trevor Lawrence as a long term guy?
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_00]: It just feels like there's been like little pieces of frustration there.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like someone weirdness there.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_02]: You know what was interesting to me that I can't get rid of.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I know that this is gonna sound like kind of a mean
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_02]: accusation to throw out.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I mentioned this on the pod before, but I still can't stop thinking about when the whole sign stealing thing happened with Liam Cohen and Robert Solid a couple weeks ago.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I was just can't have this thing a bunch of people.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know, someone had made the point that like, let's not forget that when Trevor was a Clemson, he had arguably the greatest sign stealer in modern college football history and in uh, venibals on that staff, right?
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_02]: And let's, so did we, in some way, get a little bit of the skill conflated with whatever answers to the test he was getting.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_02]: and did that does that muddy up there a little bit and it was he maybe not generational but still I mean Trevor's a talented quarterback that offense was also remarkably simple um I think like people who
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_00]: I remember hearing this like, you know, his first couple years in the league was like Trevor for a guy who started as many games as he did in college was made way more raw than people thought.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason why was because the offense he was coming from, they did rely on him to run a bunch.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and he's more of like a, he's a great athlete, but like more of like a straight line runner, which, I mean, as, as you know, and the NFL, it's, as a quarterback is tough to be that type of guy, because the hits that you'll take, you know, right in that way.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_00]: Um, if you have a quarterback as a runner, he wanted to be a little bit more elusive, so he's not.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's not just taking a pounding, you know, and maybe that's where it is, like that's why it hasn't translated because that simple offensive is coming from the reliance on his legs, which, you know, if you're lying on your legs as a quarterback, that's going to open up things in the passing game, for you to make things a little bit simpler in the passing game for you.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_00]: I just, you know what I really, you know, like just like looking at the the box from last night
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_00]: is like the sack to pass it to ratio here.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_00]: Five sacks and the only throw it 23 times.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_00]: So that me, like
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've talked about this sack, the sack is a quarterback stat, you know what I mean?
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and they can involve your ability of process and your ability to get rid of the ball, and it does feel like watching Trevor, like there is even five years in, like the wheels are turning in his head watching him play, you know?
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, I just can't kick that when I watch
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we're done having that discussion by any stretch.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think that, and you feel bad for Doug Peterson a little bit because you slam the door on him and said that Trevor's lack of success is an indictment of him and you kind of, you know, you're very quickly slam the door in urban mire, but that I think was a different set of problems in Jacksonville.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_02]: you get to this point now, and it's like, okay, where are we at on this?
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_02]: Could we see him moved?
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's a lot of teams with a lot of draft capital.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you're the rams, would, you know, yeah.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_02]: And you're Sean McVay, wouldn't you just be like, all right?
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Stafford's almost done.
- 1:07:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna give you this guy, you know?
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would be fascinated to see that one.
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_00]: That would be really interesting.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_02]: Hello.
- 1:07:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think like what's the next wave of quarterback reclamation projects?
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've put Tyler into that bucket, right?
- 1:07:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like where they eventually, in the next year or two, could become somebody's reclamation project.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Trevor winds up in that bucket too.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure.
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_00]: And it's wild because like I, I was convinced, I remember watching him as a freshman.
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was like holy crap.
- 1:07:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like this, this is the next guy, you know?
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I think there's like, if he had been in the 19 draft after his true freshman season, I think he would have been the number one overall pick.
- 1:08:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think he probably would have been the number and overall pick over Burrow in 2020, based in the way NFL people talked about him.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_00]: So like this is pretty surprising that we are where we are with him.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_00]: Remember how stupid we all thought Greg Williams was for 30% in that zero blitz and costing a jets.
- 1:08:24[SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't that what it was?
- 1:08:25[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great setup.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't that what it was?
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, no, that was the game they lost.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_02]: That was the game he wrote blitz to Derek Carr.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_00]: But then they won a game that cost them to pay one of the weird game.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_00]: That they're wound up being the difference between Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson.
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, I mean, now, I think Trevor would have flamed that a lot faster if he was in New York.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_02]: No offense to anybody.
- 1:08:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think that's it.
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I don't know.
- 1:08:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that would have been like the personality fit.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he might have, he might have gone back to school.
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, all right.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_02]: that does it we've cleaned out the house let us know what you think i mean is is this a capable segment in the months and the weeks and the years to come uh or or did you just are you not hoarders people i don't know i urge you to binge hoarders on Netflix because it is fun and i i don't know there's something aesthetically pleasing about seeing the i don't know about you but i'll be busy falling asleep in the middle of the money night game tonight so i can't do it tonight that may be later in the week
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe, yeah, I got a, I got a train to today from Starbucks so that they have a bigger one now.
- 1:09:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's three ounces.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't want it so like right like remember the criticism about my small coffee right like look at that and again the reason why is it give myself the That the out to get another cup.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel as guilty about getting another coffee after the show every Monday morning I'm the best This is mostly ice.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_02]: I've polished off 30 ounces of coffee.
