- 0:00Hello everybody, welcome back to your favorite astrology podcast
- 0:02where we light our candles, we cozy up and we talk all things
- 0:05cosmos. I'm your host, astrologer and
- 0:07coach Sarah Posh, and we are here for the total solar eclipse
- 0:11in Leo. I even wore my Lion King Leo
- 0:13shirt for you. Yes, I am totally on brand
- 0:16because this Leo eclipse, it is time to shine and I am not
- 0:19afraid of this eclipse. I feel like we are always
- 0:21spooked out when we start talking about eclipses or
- 0:23getting into eclipse season because we know eclipses, our
- 0:26eclipsing are luminaries, the lights of our sky.
- 0:29And, and there's always this kind of emphasis on shadowy
- 0:32material, others that's hidden, things becoming revealed, or
- 0:35sometimes there's things that happen and later when we look
- 0:38back, we're revealed what was actually about.
- 0:41But honestly, you guys, this eclipse, I'm excited for it.
- 0:43So I'm going to share all of my reasons why I love this eclipse,
- 0:46why I'm not afraid of it and ways that I think we can
- 0:49actually leverage it. And I'm also going to give some
- 0:51astrological data points that you can reference.
- 0:53So things that happened in the past that are connected to this
- 0:56eclipse and then also some things that are still yet to
- 0:59play out that are coming up ahead that we can kind of think
- 1:01about and maybe sit back, relax a little bit more knowing that
- 1:05we've got some time. In addition to knowing it's an
- 1:0818 month eclipse cycle and this is the first Leo eclipse in that
- 1:11cycle. There is no need to rush to any
- 1:14eclipse conclusions. And of course I'm going to share
- 1:17some of my favorite songs from our community collaborative
- 1:20playlist. We've got that new playlist that
- 1:22came out for this Lunar cycle. It is linked below this episode.
- 1:25It's a collaborative playlist. So I build the setlist and I
- 1:28share my favorite songs, but I also love when you share in the
- 1:30comments below and add any songs that you're moving to grooving
- 1:33to you feeling through this astrology through.
- 1:35So if you're into music, if you have any favorites that are
- 1:38coming up for you right now and kind of getting you through
- 1:40dancing you through this energy, then drop those in the comments
- 1:43below at any point in the episode and make sure if you

- 2:01ever have to miss when some of these videos come out that are
- 2:03not on our regular weekly scheduled program.
- 2:06And of course, below this episode, there's so many other
- 2:08goodies. We've got digital products, the
- 2:10links for my one-on-one astrology consultations.
- 2:12So you can check everything out again, linked below this episode
- 2:15in the episode description. With that, I think we are ready
- 2:18to dive in to let this total solar eclipse and Leo shine.
- 2:22And so this is occurring on Wednesday, August 12th.
- 2:25It is a total solar eclipse at 20° of Leo.
- 2:28It's going to be exact at 10:30, 36 AM standard Pacific Time.
- 2:32And this, like I said, is the first official eclipse in Leo in
- 2:35this eclipse series that started with that Aquarius eclipse back
- 2:38in February 2026, earlier this year.
- 2:40And it's going to be playing out through 2028.
- 2:43So we've got some time people. But this is a big event for
- 2:46these eclipses because it's a total solar eclipse, which means
- 2:49that the shadow of the moon passing directly through the
- 2:52line of our point on Earth and our view of the sun is being
- 2:56darkened, eclipsed temporarily. And so whenever we talk about
- 2:58eclipses, which by the way, if you didn't know and you'd like
- 3:01to know, there is a focus topic episode that I did it released
- 3:04it last year. It's on the channel all about
- 3:06eclipses. So if you want a nerd out on
- 3:08some of the astrology and the technical stuff that goes into
- 3:10eclipses or how to work with eclipses and maybe some of the
- 3:14other ideas of other branches of astrology like modern astrology
- 3:17and Vedic astrology, what their take is on eclipses.
- 3:19All of that is in that focus topic episode, which you can
- 3:21find on the channel. So definitely check that out.
- 3:23But for today's episode and today's eclipse, we're focusing
- 3:26on the sun being eclipsed in its home sign.
- 3:29So this is not the sun wandering through another sign getting
- 3:32eclipse, it is at home and it is being eclipsed.
- 3:34So the Sun is in a place of highest comfort, dignity and
- 3:38resourcing during this eclipse. Which to me tells us that
- 3:41there's something about this eclipse that might have to do
- 3:44with restoring personal dignity by eclipsing something that was
- 3:48actually becoming a barrier to living our most authentic
- 3:51creative lives. Leo is a fixed fire sign.
- 3:54It is the point of summer where we are all playing, getting in
- 3:57those last days before we have to go back to school.
- 4:00And there's so much associated with the sign of Leo and with
- 4:03the Sun that has to do with vitality, creativity,
- 4:05authenticity, what makes us feel most alive, what makes us feel
- 4:10the most personal joy and also personal connection to this life
- 4:14outside of those mundane things that we have to do, you know,
- 4:16like the whole like adulting things.
- 4:18And so I want to list just a few keywords associated with Leo and
- 4:22with the Sun in Leo specifically.
- 4:24And I want you to just feel into your current status of
- 4:27relationship. Are you in a situationship with
- 4:30some of these keywords and themes or do you feel deeply,
- 4:32intimately connected to them? Are you living through and from
- 4:36them? Because this eclipse might just
- 4:38be this major new beginning and turning point where you have the
- 4:42opportunity to shed the barriers to living even more fully from
- 4:45these places. For more of let's call like a
- 4:47creative spiritual radiance. So here's my Leo themes.
- 4:51Personal purpose, legacy, authentic living, creative
- 4:55self-expression, loyalty to the light within.
- 4:58So like Namaste both to you and to myself, self rulership,
- 5:02dignity of character and integrity of choices and actions
- 5:06that reflect A cohesive true self.
- 5:09So if you've watched any of the previous episodes, we did a
- 5:12series of episodes about the July Barbo's basket and every
- 5:16single Co host that came on and spoke through a different lens.
- 5:19We had the tarot human design. We had another astrologer speak
- 5:22her lens and language of the astrology for the Aquarius full
- 5:25moon horoscope episode. But every single one of those
- 5:28lenses and languages, those conversations were all saying
- 5:32the same thing, that right now, all of this astrology is begging
- 5:35for more creative risk taking, for more authentic
- 5:38self-expression, more collaboration and play, and
- 5:41really putting ourselves into more conversations or more
- 5:45circumstances. We're letting our hearts, our
- 5:47ideas, our inspirations be more visible and visibility is what
- 5:51it's all about with Leo. Not for the performance though.
- 5:54That's when we get into the shadow side of Leo and listen, I
- 5:58know as much as you know that wearing a social mask in certain
- 6:01situations, sometimes it feels necessary, but also sometimes it
- 6:05feels so life draining, Like it's almost exhausting to have
- 6:09to hide certain parts of ourselves because we're afraid
- 6:12of the impact it might have on somebody else, the reaction they
- 6:15might give us. And listen, those fears come
- 6:17from something I know for myself, there was plenty of
- 6:20feedback growing up and even going through school and high
- 6:23school and College of like the version of me that was going to
- 6:26make everybody else the happier versions of themselves.
- 6:29The truth is, my own personal experience, the more authentic
- 6:32and uninhibited I am and just being, not trying to perform,
- 6:36not trying to be the version of myself that someone may or may
- 6:40not like, not trying to read those minds.
- 6:42Those are typically the interactions and the moments
- 6:45that feel the most alive, both within me and within the
- 6:48interaction themselves, within the connections with other
- 6:51people. Because the truth is that when
- 6:52we show up that authentically, that quietly, silently gives the
- 6:57other people permission to show up as their full authentic
- 7:00selves. What would it be like if we
- 7:02lived in a world of unconditional acceptance that
- 7:05started with unconditional self acceptance?
- 7:07And so I'm going to read from my notes a couple of questions or
- 7:11reflection prompts that might help you to leave into this
- 7:14invitation in this total solar eclipse of amplifying our
- 7:17radiance of stepping into greater authenticity and visible
- 7:21self acceptance. The first one is where in your
- 7:24life is there no one left to appeal to?
- 7:27I also kind of want to add to that, where in your life life
- 7:30are you feeling exhausted by trying to appeal to somebody
- 7:34outside of yourself? And one way that I recognize
- 7:38this in my own life is when I'm in any kind of situation and I
- 7:42leave feeling empty because I didn't receive the external
- 7:45response or validation that I didn't consciously know I was
- 7:49craving going into that circumstance or interaction.
- 7:52And I'm like, oh, I was in that performance mode.
- 7:55I was deflecting the authority of what makes me feel good to
- 7:59somebody outside of myself. And that sucks.
- 8:02It's fucking exhausting. But again, if this is an
- 8:05eclipse, we could eclipse those patterns we could reveal, bring
- 8:08out of hiding those unconscious motivations that lead us to that
- 8:12draining life performance. And then the second reflection
- 8:15is the sun at home in the dark is revealing which parts we have
- 8:19learned to hide from others. And that leads into this next
- 8:22reflection prompt, which is imagining ourselves as the sun
- 8:26that shines in the sky. And at the end of the day, we
- 8:28come home to ourselves, our safe space, maybe some solitude.
- 8:32And this is kind of that moment for this eclipse.
- 8:34It's going into the dark. It's us coming homecoming home,
- 8:38unimpacted or influenced by anybody else outside of us.
- 8:41And in that solitude or that safe space, to be fully
- 8:45authentically ourselves, which parts come out of hiding 1st?
- 8:49And if we actually took the time during this eclipse to
- 8:52acknowledge those parts of ourselves and to sit with them
- 8:55in compassionate and curious conversation, we might ask them
- 8:58what fears or stories, worries from our past that they still
- 9:02believe or that they're still caring that's preventing them
- 9:05from feeling safety outside of that safe space alone or any
- 9:09comfort zone of visibility. And what would it take to
- 9:11protect that vulnerability or that scared part of ourselves in
- 9:14a new way or pattern that's actually internally resourcing
- 9:18our safety and our security. The next reflection prompt is if
- 9:22you could eclipse any life draining mask you've been
- 9:25wearing, what would it be? Can you imagine what it would be
- 9:28like to live with more freedom to be a more authentic version
- 9:31of yourself in more of life's arenas?
- 9:35Not having to hang 1 mask up for another as you leave from one
- 9:38relationship to another or one room, or roll from another like
- 9:42work or home? What if you could just be
- 9:44yourself authentically in all arenas of life?
- 9:48And with that, what is the first mask you would drop off?
- 9:51What is the one that you would get rid of first?
- 9:53What is the one that you would say yes please Eclipse I am
- 9:56ready, let it be, let it go. And so in addition to all of
- 9:59these reasons and themes that I'm bringing up surrounding this
- 10:02eclipse, astrologically, there's even more information that shows
- 10:06us this is a more binific eclipse than maybe typical.
- 10:09And the reason that is, is because we have Jupiter Co
- 10:12present the greater binific in the sign of Leo at the time of
- 10:15this eclipse, where Jupiter has a dignity of triplicity, it's
- 10:18moving into a supportive stabilizing trine.
- 10:20It's a Saturn retrograde in Aries.
- 10:22And then additionally, we've got Venus in her sign of Libra,
- 10:26dignified and domicile. I talked a lot more about all of
- 10:29the benefits in the magic of Venus and Libra during this time
- 10:32in my previous episode, so definitely check that out if you
- 10:34haven't already and you want to know more about that side of the
- 10:37equation. But basically the planets that
- 10:39want to help us and support us and do good in our lives, they
- 10:42are in places where they are resourced.
- 10:44They have access to things that can help us, and they're in
- 10:46communication, whether by being somewhere in the same house as
- 10:49the eclipse or they're just that sextile phone call friend away
- 10:53with Venus and Libra. And it doesn't just stop there.
- 10:55The other thing that's helping this eclipse so much is that our
- 10:57two Malefic's, we've got Mars in Cancer and Saturn in Aries,
- 11:01which is the place of depression or the planet's fall for both of
- 11:05our malefic. That means our malefic are not
- 11:07in places where they are resourced to do the function
- 11:10that they normally want to do, which is sometimes oftentimes
- 11:14gifting us growth through challenge and hardship, which by
- 11:17the way, I'm a malefic lover. I even did a whole focus topic
- 11:20on all about malefic, all about Saturn and Mars in astrology.
- 11:24But I don't hate the fact that they aren't implicated or highly
- 11:27involved and resourced as we're going through this total solar
- 11:30eclipse in Leo. So I think it's helpful to
- 11:32disarm a little bit of that doom and gloom to remind ourselves
- 11:34that the astrology is actually saying good things can come and
- 11:38are supporting this total solar eclipse in Leo.
- 11:41And next, I'm going to share my top three songs from the
- 11:44setlist. There's more than just these
- 11:45three, but these are my top picks for this Leo eclipse.
- 11:48And then finally, I'm going to give you a few of those Astro
- 11:50data points that I mentioned the beginning of the episode, things
- 11:52you can look back on, and also some dates to maybe jot down as
- 11:56moments in time to look forward to.
- 11:58So there's a little of a journey with these three songs that
- 12:00we're going to take you on. The first one is going to start
- 12:02a little bit softer. There's a little bit more of
- 12:04this melancholy or maybe the feeling that we get when we drop
- 12:07into the actual conversation with some of the shadow work
- 12:11around the parts that we've been hiding.
- 12:12And it's bittersweet by Arches. So let me go ahead and just read
- 12:16you at the lyrics to this song. I could show you now, but you're
- 12:18never going to see because you're watching me go up in
- 12:20smoke. I could shut it down.
- 12:22When I lose, you're going to leave, but you know that I'll
- 12:25fall out alone. There's secrets that you know
- 12:27and secrets that I hold. Take these tired wings, which by
- 12:30the way, you guys, this part is the chorus and it's like
- 12:33sobbing. I like, it's so good.
- 12:35Strike so deep. Take these tired wings Home is
- 12:38calling you to sleep, love. So bittersweet.
- 12:40All the happy tears it brings. Winter wind will fly you back to
- 12:44me. Bittersweet.
- 12:45So this is our opening. Maybe it's the good cry, the
- 12:48shadow work, the release, and we're just setting down the
- 12:51tired mass and the tired wings, calling ourselves back home.
- 12:55The next song that I've chosen. And this is really more of that
- 12:58intro moment into the cycle and the positive developments that
- 13:01I'm hoping to experience. And I'm hoping, wishing for all
- 13:04of you is This Version of You by Odessa and Julianna Barwick.
- 13:08I've listened to this song and actually cried as well.
- 13:11Because there's a way in which it's not just an idea of
- 13:14connecting to your future self, but when you're going through
- 13:16those moments of great transition or deep growth and
- 13:20recognition of starting to make some changes in your life or to
- 13:22make some different choices to step into a different version of
- 13:25you. The song is like what I would
- 13:27imagine playing the Symphony and orchestra, inviting me,
- 13:30encouraging me, helping me to fully step into that transition
- 13:34and transformation. So the words to this song are
- 13:36this version of you simply becomes real.
- 13:39I'd like you to imagine this version of you.
- 13:41This version of you simply becomes real.
- 13:43And you're right here with this version of you to see things as
- 13:47they really are. This version of you looking at
- 13:49you, you looking back, this version of you welcoming you,
- 13:53this version of you saying yes, I'd like you to imagine this
- 13:56version of you. I just got full body goosebumps
- 13:59and emotional even just reading you guys those lyrics and it's
- 14:01not even playing right now. But don't worry because when I
- 14:03made this set list, I listened to it plenty of times.
- 14:05I had all of my good cries. So definitely check that song
- 14:09out. It is keeper not just for this
- 14:10new moon, but maybe for the entire 18 month eclipse cycle
- 14:13happening in the sign of Leo. And then my last and final song
- 14:17gets us up, gets us moving and grooving.
- 14:20It is called Lion original mix by Pang.
- 14:23And for this song, first of all, there's a little bit of Lion
- 14:26King in it. So that's part of it and it's
- 14:28called Lion. I know unoriginal, but I'm going
- 14:31to read you the about this song from Spotify because this is the
- 14:35reason I chose this song. The Professor Plum EP featuring
- 14:39Lion was released on Pang's own label in 2014.
- 14:42The self release allowed the duo to maintain creative control and
- 14:45showcase their unique sound without external influences.
- 14:49Like need I say less EEE of everything else I was saying you
- 14:53guys. All right.
- 14:54And it goes on to say Lion cleverly samples iconic opening
- 14:57chant from the Circle of Life in The Lion King.
- 15:00This unexpected blend of deep house and a beloved Disney
- 15:03classic caught listeners off guard, offering a fresh take on
- 15:07a familiar time. So good.
- 15:09What if you could show up, kind of test this visibility, this
- 15:13new authentic self-expression in a way that you're welcoming the
- 15:16chance to catch somebody off guard and maybe introduce a new
- 15:20fresh take on a familiar association of you and your role
- 15:24in that relationship or that context.
- 15:26So it's obviously so perfect. Check it out.
- 15:28Again, all that's linked this episode.
- 15:30If you guys have any other suggestions, I'd love to hear
- 15:32your song, Rex. Drop it in the comments below
- 15:35and also fill me in. How are you guys doing?
- 15:37How are you feeling going into this eclipse?
- 15:38Are you feeling the spooky or are you feeling the stoke?
- 15:41Are you feeling ready to shine? I'd love to hear from you.
- 15:43So drop your rising sign and comment below.
- 15:45And if you have anything around 20° of Leo, then we know that
- 15:49this eclipse is likely to be a little bit more personal and
- 15:52personally activating and your storyline, your plot line of
- 15:55your Natal chart and Natal context.
- 15:57So if that's you and you're feeling any sense or need of
- 16:00further support, I definitely encourage you.
- 16:01This is a great time to invest in that one-on-one astrology
- 16:04consultation so that we can get you set up for the stage that's
- 16:07going to be playing out for this Leo eclipse all through the next
- 16:1018 months. And that kind of perfectly
- 16:12actually transitions. I'm going to give you those
- 16:14dates. Let's wrap this cosmic
- 16:15conversation by bringing it full circle.
- 16:17So whenever we look at eclipses, they're always happening in
- 16:20cycles of time. The eclipses themselves are
- 16:22going to repeat in the same areas of the sky and in our
- 16:25charts and our lives every 19 years.
- 16:27And there is a halfway point called the nodal opposition.
- 16:31To me, I really find it helpful to look at the nodal opposition
- 16:34set of eclipses as well as the original set and repeat of the
- 16:38same cycle from 19 years ago. So I'm going to go ahead and
- 16:40share those dates with you to kind of reflect on what were the
- 16:43major beginnings and major endings or major faded karmic
- 16:46turning points happening for you with those eclipses.
- 16:48And so those were happening between February of 2017 and
- 16:52they played all the way out through January of 2019.
- 16:55I've already gone ahead and made the list here with the exact
- 16:58dates and exact degree of these eclipses during that notable
- 17:01opposition cycle. So you can pause this video,
- 17:03write it down, or maybe take a screenshot if you're watching on
- 17:06your phone. And then you can also go back
- 17:08even further, like I said, to the most recent previous eclipse
- 17:11cycle correlated to the specific eclipses we're having right now
- 17:14with the South Node and Leo and N node and Aquarius.
- 17:17And so that cycle played out starting in February 2008 and
- 17:21went all the way through August 2009.
- 17:25And I just want to share personally, it's fascinating to
- 17:27me when I look to these eclipse cycles in the nodal opposition
- 17:31cycle, I can see very clearly that both of those times in my
- 17:35life and connected to these cycles of time are moments where
- 17:38I was initiated into a new version of myself by entering
- 17:42into an environment that was a completely new culture and
- 17:45making new connections. Or it was being given an
- 17:48opportunity to really live from a more fresh, creative place in
- 17:52my life, to really develop and learn more about what brings me
- 17:56joy by being around new people and in new places.
- 17:59In the 2008, 2009, I joined a sorority in undergrad, which I
- 18:03did not want to do, you guys. My mom genuinely forced me to go
- 18:06through recruitment. And of course, I became obsessed
- 18:08with it. I was totally the sorority girl.
- 18:10Don't hate me, but it was my first time being away from home,
- 18:13from all the familiar people and relationships that have always
- 18:16known me and seen me in one way only.
- 18:19And I didn't know at that time what that was going to do.
- 18:21But what it did is it totally opened me up.
- 18:23I'm being seen from totally new people and totally new
- 18:26perspectives, and they're seeing things in me that previously I
- 18:29didn't realize. I kind of had to keep hiding.
- 18:31Like I almost didn't even see them in myself until I was
- 18:34placed into this new place and new relationships.
- 18:38So that's really cool. And then the second one during
- 18:40the nodal opposition, well, what do you know?
- 18:42That's when I moved to California.
- 18:44I didn't know what I was going to do.
- 18:46I knew that I was leaving Omaha, NE for the first time and I was
- 18:49stepping away from being a pharmacist at an orthopedic
- 18:52surgery hospital, but I had no idea what I was going to do
- 18:54career wise, job wise. I was kind of on a sabbatical
- 18:57because my dad had unexpectedly passed away just before that
- 19:00move. And I was in a completely new
- 19:02place. And I remember when I got here,
- 19:05I was talking to a stranger and they were just asking.
- 19:07We were talking like, where are you from?
- 19:09And I told them. They were like, Oh my gosh, this
- 19:10is Huntington Beach at that time.
- 19:12This must be such a culture shock for you to move here from
- 19:15the Midwest, from Nebraska. And I looked around and I was
- 19:17like, well, first of all, Huntington Beach is a lot like
- 19:20Nebraska, but with the beach instead of fields.
- 19:22But also, On the contrary, it kind of was the first time my
- 19:25soul truly felt at home. I always kind of felt out of
- 19:27place in my home of origin. I was always kind of the weirdo
- 19:31in the room. Like, where did you come from?
- 19:32Sarah were actual things my family would say to me.
- 19:36And coming to California, it was like all of my weirdo homies,
- 19:41we're here waiting for me the whole time.
- 19:44And of course, as we know now, it's led to this completely
- 19:47different life plot where not only am I living somewhere that
- 19:50feels like home that I'd never known before, I'm living my
- 19:54dream, my passion. I get to be an astrologer and a
- 19:56coach. I get to share the things that
- 19:58I'm passionate about and witness the incredible insane beauty of
- 20:02humans choosing growth, choosing self acceptance, healing and joy
- 20:07through authentic living. Like helping other people
- 20:10genuinely give themselves. A chance to live that life as
- 20:13well. So I know that I might not know
- 20:15what these eclipses are going to bring or where they're going to
- 20:18take me next, but I trust, I deeply trust that I will look
- 20:21back and be grateful on them because so far it has proven to
- 20:25be this gift of introducing myself to more of myself and
- 20:29living more authentically, more joyfully, more genuinely
- 20:33connected to a personal purpose and legacy.
- 20:36So if you have anything that comes up when you look at those
- 20:39dates and you think about those times in your lives and maybe be
- 20:41some major turning points and how it relates to some of these
- 20:44Leo themes that we've been talking about in this episode.
- 20:46I would love to hear from you. Drop in the comments below,
- 20:49share with us your rising sign and your personal story and
- 20:51maybe share with us how that has you feeling, if it has you
- 20:54feeling any different when you start thinking about this
- 20:56eclipse or what this eclipse might mean or it might bring.
- 20:59I am so stoked for the most for this total solar eclipse and
- 21:02Leo. I'm hoping to see all the
- 21:04creative weirdos coming out and showing more of themselves.
- 21:07And I'm also so grateful. Thank you everybody for being a
