- 0:09From the media missionaries of Network 7, welcome
- 0:12to Mission Sunlight Chat. We are at the ASI North
- 0:17American Division Exhibit Hall here in Orlando,
- 0:20Florida in summer 2025. Delighted to be able
- 0:23to look out across the exhibit hall and see folks
- 0:26sharing and chatting and talking with one another
- 0:28about the impact of ministry, the impact of Jesus
- 0:31around the globe. And it's been such a blessing
- 0:33to be here. hear what God is up to using people
- 0:40around the world. I'm Christopher Beeson, your
- 0:42host, Jordan Wagner over on the technical side.
- 0:44And Heidi Tompkins is one of those ministries
- 0:48that is doing some cool things for Jesus around
- 0:50the globe. And Heidi, you and I have known each
- 0:52other for about a dozen years. I did the calculations
- 0:54and I think I sort of remember. I could be wrong,
- 0:57you know, I'm getting a little older, but about
- 1:00a dozen years or so. And back then your smile
- 1:03was just as big as it is today. And I met you
- 1:06in the early days of working with ASI. And I
- 1:09just remember thinking there's someone who loves
- 1:11Jesus and has ASI, the epitome of ASI, the heart
- 1:16of ASI in what she's doing, just using her ministry
- 1:19to share Jesus. And you've done some expansive
- 1:22things. We're going to talk about not just Heidi's
- 1:25Health Kitchen in our second segment, but in
- 1:27our third segment, we're going to talk about
- 1:29how you have had massive impact for spiritual
- 1:35health along the political lines of the world.
- 1:39Was that a carefully worded statement or what?
- 1:43Serious. American politics will never be the
- 1:45same because of some of the things some of you
- 1:47and your partners are doing. What a blessing.
- 1:50Looking forward to sharing that. But before we
- 1:52do anything, before we hear your personal testimony,
- 1:54let's talk to Jesus. Would you lead us in prayer?
- 1:56Yes. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we just thank
- 1:59you and praise you for all of your goodness,
- 2:00your mercy, that you wait for us and that you
- 2:03hold our hands and that you lead us and guide
- 2:05us every step of the way that we're willing to
- 2:07take with you. And Father, as we take big steps
- 2:10for you, we expect big things from you, and we
- 2:12pray that these testimonies will be a blessing
- 2:14to the hearers and the listeners. In Jesus' name,
- 2:17amen. Amen. Heidi, thank you so much for your
- 2:20prayer. Thank you for sharing with us. Your journey
- 2:23with Jesus has, I don't want to say it's been
- 2:27up and down with Jesus, but certainly with life
- 2:30has had some ups and downs, right? Take us back
- 2:33to your childhood. Where did you grow up? Sure.
- 2:35And tell us a little bit about your family. Sure.
- 2:36My family's from Connecticut. We lived there
- 2:38when I was born. We moved to Vermont for five
- 2:40years. And I grew up in the church. And, you
- 2:44know, my mom was... So it was a Christian home.
- 2:46Yeah, yeah. A Christian home. And my mother was
- 2:48very instrumental in us being involved in music
- 2:52and all of these things. And my dad was a Pathfinder
- 2:55director. And we were just all in. Okay. For
- 2:57anybody that doesn't know what Pathfinders is,
- 2:59that's in the Seventh -day Adventist church.
- 3:02That is the youth program. It's similar to Scouts,
- 3:04camping and awards and various activities. Yeah,
- 3:07so we were very, very active and had a really
- 3:11great, wonderful childhood. When I was in...
- 3:16After college, I left the church. I have three
- 3:19siblings. They all left the church as well. And
- 3:22I really, really wish that that weren't my testimony.
- 3:25But God has just done so many great things that,
- 3:28you know, I just love sharing the testimony for
- 3:31the things that he has done. So you were involved
- 3:33in Pathfinders all the years of Pathfinders up
- 3:36until around 16? Yeah, I've been sitting in church
- 3:36since I was four years old. Okay. And somehow
- 3:40through all of that, it didn't quite take, at
- 3:43least not immediately. And you wandered? Was
- 3:47your college years? I was in college. Yeah, I
- 3:52was drifting farther away in college, even though
- 3:54I went to one of our schools. But then I went
- 3:58straight into the workforce and took a job where...
- 4:02I would later have to compromise and work Sabbath
- 4:04and so forth and was working a lot of hours.
- 4:07I was in sales. And then later took a sales job
- 4:10where my boss was an alcoholic. And every time
- 4:14someone, I was in telecommunications, and whenever
- 4:17someone sold a big deal, we had to go to happy
- 4:20hour. And that was every day of the week. I very
- 4:22quickly rose to the top. six sales people in
- 4:27a company of about 240 in the northeast and I
- 4:30was selling large voice and data deals and going
- 4:33to happy hour every single night because it was
- 4:36like you had to and that with my type A personality
- 4:40doesn't really go very well because I go harder
- 4:43I don't go at all and so I really felt like I
- 4:47had become an alcoholic at that point because
- 4:49I couldn't stop. I would drink to excess and
- 4:52I couldn't stop. And the worst was Friday evenings
- 4:54because, you know, you didn't have to be at work
- 4:57the next day. And I remember one Sabbath morning
- 5:00waking up, knowing that it's Saturday, knowing
- 5:03that it's Sabbath and feeling absolutely horrible,
- 5:06sick, headache, everything that you can. imagine
- 5:10comes with that. And I remember sitting up in
- 5:12my bed thinking, there has to be something better
- 5:14than this. And God flashed in my mind all the
- 5:17years of growing up in church with my family
- 5:19and the peace that I had at that time. And so
- 5:23I thought, that's it. I've got to go back to
- 5:26church. So I went on my computer, and I found
- 5:29out that there was a Seventh -day Adventist church
- 5:31about 20 minutes away from me. And I had a black
- 5:34lab at that time. By the time I walked my dog,
- 5:36I cleaned up, took a shower, and got ready. I
- 5:39looked at the time, and it was like 12 .05. And
- 5:43I grew up in churches that you get out of here.
- 5:45We're done at 12. Yeah. So I thought, okay, I'll
- 5:48go next week. this happened for four weeks in
- 5:52a row. I got to go to church. I got to get up.
- 5:54I got to get ready, but I'm late and I'll go
- 5:56next week. And after the fourth week, I, I just
- 6:00said to myself, okay, enough is enough. Either
- 6:02this is serious or it's not because I know myself
- 6:04better than this. If I don't go today, I'll never
- 6:06go. So I don't care if they're singing the last
- 6:08line of the closing hymn, I'm going today and
- 6:11next week I'll go earlier. And I did that. And
- 6:13God is just so amazing. When I walked in this,
- 6:19This church had a Spanish service in the morning
- 6:21and English was in the afternoon. So when I walked
- 6:23in there, you were early for church. Can you
- 6:25imagine? And I'm not an early person. Well, that
- 6:29fits your schedule perfectly. It really, really
- 6:31did. Isn't God funny with his sense of humor?
- 6:33So, so funny. And so, you know, he was saying,
- 6:35I got you, Heidi. I got you. Just trust me. So
- 6:39I can, I got very involved in church. I joined
- 6:41the choir and, and, you know, praise team and
- 6:44all these things. I got very, very involved in
- 6:46church. But my job was still causing problems
- 6:50because my boss was just, he was an alcoholic.
- 6:53And so I told him, I'm not going to drink anymore.
- 6:58I'm a Christian, and I've gone back to church.
- 7:01And I can't go to, I don't care what happens,
- 7:03I'm not going to church. I'm not going to choir
- 7:05happy hour on Friday evenings because I have
- 7:07choir practice. And that was a really nice excuse
- 7:10for me. That really helped matters. And he didn't
- 7:14like it, but I would just drink water when I
- 7:17had to go and socialize. And occasionally I would
- 7:24get pressured to compromise. And unfortunately,
- 7:30the worst compromise I made was that year, Christmas,
- 7:35just before Christmas time, he came to my desk
- 7:38and he said, You're coming to the Christmas party,
- 7:41right? And I said, no, I'm not. It was on a Friday
- 7:43night, and we had choir practice before our next
- 7:45big Christmas program. And I said, no, I'm not.
- 7:48I said, we have our final choir practice and
- 7:51a Christmas program the next day. He said, no,
- 7:53you have to come. I said, well, I'm not coming.
- 7:57And he said, well, you have to come. He said,
- 7:59you're the number one salesperson in the company.
- 8:01And the president is coming to the New York City
- 8:04Christmas party to see you. And if you are not
- 8:06there, it won't reflect nicely on me. And if
- 8:09you don't show your face, then don't come to
- 8:11work the next Monday. And I thought, I'm not
- 8:17going. You know, so many crazy things happened
- 8:22that week. Like on Thursday, I was driving back
- 8:25from the field from my territory to the office.
- 8:27I'm driving on the Long Island Expressway. Out
- 8:30of nowhere, the hood of my car flips open, smashes
- 8:34the windshield, and I can't see. And thank God
- 8:36it was rush hour. Thank God I was able to get
- 8:38over safely to the side without hitting anyone
- 8:40or causing an accident. And one of my coworkers
- 8:43came and picked me up and brought me home and
- 8:48brought me to a rental car enterprise place.
- 8:50And I rented a car. And I was standing there
- 8:53renting the car. And they asked if I wanted the
- 8:56insurance. And I said yes. And he's next to me.
- 8:58And he's like, dude, you're such a good. driver,
- 9:00you don't need the insurance. You have your own
- 9:01insurance. I was like, all right, so I don't
- 9:03need the insurance. I was unfortunately very
- 9:05influenced by other people at that time. I wasn't
- 9:09really strong in the Lord, in my walk with the
- 9:12Lord. And so I was heavily influenced. And so
- 9:16I didn't get the insurance. And so we're, I'm
- 9:21driving home. I go home. I walk my dog. I go
- 9:24to choir practice. And after choir practice,
- 9:26all my All my coworkers are texting me, you better
- 9:30show up at the Christmas party. You better show
- 9:31up. I park the vehicle. I get on a train to Manhattan.
- 9:35I find out where the place is. I go there. And
- 9:38the president didn't show up. All my coworkers
- 9:41are drunk and high. And I was just very disappointed
- 9:48in myself. And I ended up having a drink. And
- 9:51we then left that bar and went back to Penn Station,
- 9:55had to wait an hour for a train. So I had another
- 9:57drink at Penn Station. And we get on the train,
- 10:00the Long Island Railroad heading back home. All
- 10:02my coworkers pass out on the train. And we get
- 10:05to the last stop, which is where I was getting
- 10:07off. And they all decided that I needed to take
- 10:10them home. And they say that, you know, when
- 10:11you're intoxicated, the first thing that you
- 10:14lose is your sense of reason. That's 100 % true.
- 10:17I agreed to take them all home, which were. 45
- 10:20minutes the other direction from which I lived
- 10:22and so I start taking a couple home that's 45
- 10:27minutes the opposite direction and my co -worker
- 10:30the one that convinced me not to get the insurance
- 10:31on the car was sitting next to me in the passenger
- 10:34seat and I did not know that he was doing drugs
- 10:37with another co -worker that lived an opposite
- 10:39another direction south of us and he said dude
- 10:43get off this exit I want to go to Lucas's house
- 10:46and I said well let me drop these people off
- 10:47and then I'll take you he's like no now And I
- 10:50said, no, I'm not doing that. It's way out of
- 10:52the way. And he was like, no, get off this exit
- 10:54now. And I said, dude, chill out, sit back. And
- 10:58he said, if you don't get off this exit right
- 11:00now, I'm going to flip this truck and kill every
- 11:02single one of you. And he proceeded to do that.
- 11:05He was in the passenger seat. He elbowed me in
- 11:07the chest. He grabbed the wheel and he flipped
- 11:09the truck. And this was a 2004 Ford Explorer,
- 11:14brand new, less than 100 miles on it. brand new.
- 11:19So I could feel the vehicle flipping on its side.
- 11:24And on the Long Island Expressway, there are
- 11:26ravines downward on each side. And it felt like
- 11:30it was starting to roll. I felt like we were
- 11:33turning upside down. And all of a sudden, the
- 11:36car just miraculously came up on all four wheels.
- 11:40And so I was like, everybody get out, check,
- 11:43make sure everything's okay. And they all get
- 11:45out. And I'm trying to put it in drive and drive
- 11:47away. And it was totaled. It wouldn't move. Unfortunately,
- 11:51a police officer saw the whole thing happened,
- 11:53knocked on my window, asked me to get out, gave
- 11:55me a breathalyzer, which I failed. And I was
- 11:58arrested. I was brought to probably the worst
- 12:00prison in Long Island, in the town of Hempstead.
- 12:05And I was handcuffed and my feet were chained.
- 12:11And I was chained between a drug dealer and a
- 12:15prostitute. Sitting there, bawling, crying. Really
- 12:20evaluating life. Because I was thinking, they
- 12:22were like, you know, you get one phone call.
- 12:24And I was thinking, yeah, I'll call my sister.
- 12:25She's a lawyer. She'll help me. But I thought
- 12:29about my... Like, how am I going to tell my dad
- 12:33this? And then the next thought was, my sister
- 12:36will hide my secret. She won't tell them. If
- 12:39I tell them not to, she won't tell my parents.
- 12:41But my heavenly father is watching me and knows
- 12:43exactly why I'm sitting here. And I just cried
- 12:47all night long, couldn't wipe my nose or my face.
- 12:51And the police officers got so sick of hearing
- 12:53me crying, they moved me into the back of the
- 12:55precinct. And I was up all night until my sister
- 12:58was there in the morning when I went into the
- 13:01courtroom. And the judge called. many, many other
- 13:05cases before mine. And she was being ruthless,
- 13:08even for first -time offenders. Two years in
- 13:11prison, suspending license for five years, and
- 13:16huge, huge fines, up to $20 ,000 fines. And when
- 13:20they called my name and I stepped up, the judge
- 13:23looked at me like up and down, and she said,
- 13:26you don't belong here. Why are you in my courtroom?
- 13:30And so she gave me a very light sentence. She
- 13:32just suspended my license for six months, $1
- 13:34,500 fine. She said, don't let me ever see you
- 13:37here ever again. You don't belong here. And so
- 13:41I made a commitment to the Lord because God saved
- 13:44my life that night. And I knew that my life was
- 13:48meant to be for him, not for me. And so I made
- 13:50very, very... big changes in my life, in my schedule.
- 13:55And I decided I'm all in because I didn't have
- 13:59to be there. I could have been very, very hurt
- 14:02or killed and God saved my life. So I decided
- 14:05from that moment, I'm all in. And so from there,
- 14:09I got rebaptized and, you know, really, really
- 14:13came back all in and wanted to give Bible studies.
- 14:17And I didn't know how I'd never been taught how
- 14:19to give a Bible study. And so An opportunity
- 14:22later came where I would go to an evangelism
- 14:26school, and I didn't even know I was going there.
- 14:28That's a whole other miraculous story about how
- 14:29God brought me to evangelism school. But every
- 14:32single day that I was sitting in class, God was
- 14:35telling me, you've worked for the world long
- 14:37enough. It's time for you to work for me. And
- 14:39I took that call, and I was running two different
- 14:42businesses at that time. I closed them both and
- 14:44decided to go into full -time ministry as a Bible
- 14:47worker. And so I was a full -time Bible worker
- 14:49in New York City. That's formidable. It was wonderful.
- 14:55The Lord is so amazing. I mean, there are doors.
- 14:59There are doors that you cannot get into. Security,
- 15:03doormen, all of these things. And it's like the
- 15:05angels were opening the doors for me. It's unbelievable.
- 15:08I could tell you stories all night long. Wow.
- 15:12So how do we get to Heidi's Health Kitchen? Yes.
- 15:16New York City or in the Greater New York Conference,
- 15:19there was a huge evangelism effort called NY13.
- 15:22And I was a Bible worker for them, for the conference,
- 15:26for NY13. And I had trained 20 church members
- 15:29because there were way too many, you know, areas
- 15:33of the city to follow up on and so forth and
- 15:35go door to door. And so I did that and I shared
- 15:42the leads with the other church members. December
- 15:4631st came, the conference said, well, thank you
- 15:49for your time. NY13 is over. You can go home
- 15:51now. And I was still studying personally with
- 15:5415 people. Church members still had Bible studies
- 15:56going on. So I continued to Bible work for free
- 15:59until my money ran out, really. And at that time,
- 16:06one of the students that I had trained came to
- 16:09me and said, hey, why don't we start a ministry
- 16:11together? And I had a small group at that time.
- 16:14fasting and praying, asking God what we should
- 16:16do, and God impressed us to start a health food
- 16:18ministry, and it's called Heidi's Health Kitchen.
- 16:21So to support our Bible work, because there are
- 16:25quotes in Ellen White's writings that say that
- 16:27the door -to -door work is going to be one of
- 16:30the final works, and God will support it. Paraphrasing,
- 16:34of course. We believed that. We believed that
- 16:38God would support it. And so we started giving
- 16:40cooking classes, health lectures, and Bible studies
- 16:42in New York City. We gave over 83 cooking demonstrations
- 16:47in Midtown Manhattan. Got a lot of Bible study
- 16:50interests and Bible study contacts from our cooking
- 16:53classes. And to sell, sorry, to support our work,
- 16:57we were selling carob truffles. And I had one
- 17:00recipe. I used to just roll them into balls and...
- 17:03Bring them if someone invited me to dinner. And
- 17:05my partner, my ministry partner now said, you
- 17:10know, we need more flavors. And I said, okay,
- 17:12I'll ask God. So I prayed. I said, God, would
- 17:15you give us more flavors? I'm not really sure
- 17:18what to do, but I know you know what to do. I
- 17:20had started helping my mom in the kitchen when
- 17:22I was maybe seven years old. And by the time
- 17:25I was eight or nine, I was mostly cooking our
- 17:27family dinners. And I really loved cooking. If
- 17:29you asked me what I wanted to do when I grew
- 17:31up, when I was like eight or nine years old,
- 17:33I wanted to have a vegetarian restaurant. Okay.
- 17:35When I grew up. That didn't happen, but... You
- 17:38haven't grown up yet, have you? No. So... Heidi,
- 17:42I want to hold you there. We're going to talk
- 17:43about what developed from there. So hang on just
- 17:46a second. We're going to come back in just a
- 17:48moment. I want to thank our listeners and viewers
- 17:49for being a part of our program today. As you
- 17:51can hear in the background, we are at the ASI
- 17:54Exhibit Hall. And the noises in the background
- 17:57are the sounds of folks chatting about mission
- 18:00and ministry, which is what we're doing here
- 18:02at Mission Sunlight Chat. So stay tuned. We have
- 18:05more to come. This is Mission Sunlight Chat.
- 18:16Being a media missionary can mean many different
- 18:18things. It means the love of a home at the heart
- 18:22of the planet. The intrepid spirit of a village
- 18:25and the vibe of a great metropolis. It means
- 18:28camera one and camera two. It means transforming
- 18:33a school, orphanage, or hospital. It means fire,
- 18:37rain, ice, and snow. It means gifts by the dollar
- 18:42and by the check. It means donations that roll
- 18:45and donations that fly. It's a movement on a
- 18:51trail or down a motorway. It means family. All
- 18:57of us together. And individually. It's who you
- 19:01are or who you are becoming. And to her, it's
- 19:06a simple gesture that means hope. Whatever it
- 19:09means to you, being a media missionary. means
- 19:12more than you might think. Welcome back to Mission
- 19:24Sunlight Chat. We are at the ASI North American
- 19:27Division in Orlando, and this convention's exhibit
- 19:31hall is abuzz with activity. Lots of sharing.
- 19:35I just said a moment ago, they are chatting about
- 19:39mission and ministry, which is our goal here
- 19:41at Mission Sunlight Chat, is to chat about mission
- 19:44and ministry. And Heidi, you shared a bit of
- 19:46your personal testimony and gotten us closer
- 19:48to understanding how Heidi's Health Kitchen came
- 19:51along. And so tell us the rest of the story.
- 19:55Yes. So my partner and I and some of my Bible
- 19:58students, we started Heidi's Health Kitchen as
- 20:00a health food ministry. And God has just given
- 20:04us product after product to sell to support our
- 20:07work. Including giving you new flavors. Yes.
- 20:11So we live off the sale of our foods. We really
- 20:13felt that we need to do more. We're both Bible
- 20:17workers, but we need to do more. And so God impressed
- 20:21him that we need to start organizing outreach
- 20:24conferences. So we are on our sixth conference
- 20:27coming up. We've done five so far. conferences
- 20:32are tailored to the unchurched, to those who
- 20:38are searching, and those who are truth seekers,
- 20:42and especially towards the forgotten, you know,
- 20:47wealthier classes, the unreached, you know, wealthier
- 20:51classes. And so we have brought very high level
- 20:55speakers. We have had Dr. Martin Kulldorff, who
- 20:59was one of the signers of the Great Barrington
- 21:00Declaration. We have had so many speakers. We've
- 21:06had Charlie Kirk, a political activist, but we
- 21:10choose speakers that we have something in common
- 21:13with. We just are not looking to just bring politics
- 21:16into the church, but we're looking for people
- 21:19that we have something in common with. Charlie
- 21:21Kirk is a Sabbath keeper. Yes. Him and his wife,
- 21:23Erica, started reading. They were reading the
- 21:26Bible a few years ago, and Charlie was very stressed,
- 21:29and they came upon the Sabbath. And he thought
- 21:32that they were doing the Sabbath, that they were
- 21:34keeping the Sabbath, you know, even though they
- 21:37were worshiping on Sunday. And he had a Jewish
- 21:39friend that said, no, you need to take a real
- 21:42Sabbath. It's from Friday sunset to Saturday
- 21:44sunset. It's not going to church on Sunday. It's
- 21:47you shut everything down from Friday sunset to
- 21:50Saturday sunset. And you spend time with God,
- 21:53with your family. And you take rest. Shabbat
- 21:57means to cease. So you stop all of your work.
- 22:00At our conference, we had him on a panel where
- 22:03we were discussing the Sabbath. And he said,
- 22:06if you are keeping the Sabbath and I walk into
- 22:09your home, I should know it. Because it should
- 22:12be different than any other day of the week.
- 22:14He said, and if I can shut my phone off at sunset
- 22:17on Friday night, then you can. He said, I've
- 22:20missed calls from the president. And many, many
- 22:23influential people. And I refused to turn my
- 22:26phone on during the Sabbath. Everything that
- 22:28gets shut off, God gets first preference. And
- 22:31we spend time in the Bible, in God's Word, and
- 22:34with our family. Amen. Yeah. And so him and Erica
- 22:37have become very, very devout Sabbath keepers.
- 22:40And so it was a real blessing sharing with them.
- 22:43Now, the purpose of sharing with them is, you
- 22:45know, we want to lead them higher. Right? Amen.
- 22:49We want to lead them higher. We want to, you
- 22:52know. Influence him. Our motto or our goal at
- 22:56the Wisdom Pearl is to influence the influencers.
- 22:59So that's what you call the outreach. Yes. Our
- 23:02nonprofit organization is called the Wisdom Pearl.
- 23:05Our conferences are called the Battle for Your
- 23:07Frontal Lobe because that's really where the
- 23:09battle is for our minds. And each conference
- 23:12has a different theme. And so we've had health
- 23:16themes. We've had many different themes that
- 23:19are just bringing people to. We hope a higher
- 23:22plane with the Lord and the truth. I'm a little
- 23:27slower than some people, which is why they let
- 23:30me just sit here and ask questions. I don't get
- 23:32to answer any of them. We're going to take a
- 23:35break, but at the return of the next segment,
- 23:37I want you to help us understand how you get
- 23:40from being drunk in New York City to having Heidi's
- 23:44Health Kitchen. to rubbing shoulders with leaders
- 23:47in our land. We want to talk about how all that,
- 23:49because you went through it so quickly, I need
- 23:51a review. No problem. We'll be back in a moment
- 23:54with more Mission Sunlight Chat. Our salvation
- 24:05is a day -to -day matter, isn't it? The real
- 24:11principle of the Sabbath. is reconnecting ourselves
- 24:15with the Creator. We must learn to abide in Jesus
- 24:22now. We move ahead with our mission objectives,
- 24:25recognizing that we are serving together the
- 24:28Most High God. welcome back to mission sunlight
- 24:43chat where we are at the asi north american division
- 24:46exhibit hall In summer 2025, as we record this,
- 24:49wherever you are, wherever you're listening,
- 24:51we are thankful to have you along and connecting
- 24:54with us. Remember, you can always connect with
- 24:56us online, offline, missionsunlight .org. You
- 24:59can give there. You can find out more about what's
- 25:01going on with the Network 7 family of ministries.
- 25:03And you can text us if you have ideas for the
- 25:05program or just you want to let us know a prayer
- 25:07request or that you're praying for us, 423 -855
- 25:10-4877 or email hello at missionsunlight .org.
- 25:15One of those ministries here at the exhibit hall
- 25:17is Heidi's Health Kitchen as well as the Wisdom
- 25:21Pearl. You have a joint effort, one a nonprofit
- 25:24and the other a for -profit. So Heidi's Health
- 25:27Kitchen is Heidi'sHealthKitchen .com. Correct.
- 25:30And then the other is the WisdomPearl .org. Yes.
- 25:34Okay. So I kind of understand you were this pretty
- 25:40groovy sales lady in New York. You kind of got
- 25:44yanked into well -doing and better behavior.
- 25:48You and your partners and your friends figured
- 25:50out you wanted to do this outreach with Heidi's
- 25:52Health Kitchen. My disconnect is how did you
- 25:55get to the wisdom, Pearl, and connecting with
- 25:57leaders of thinking people from Heidi's Health
- 26:03Kitchen? You know, it's not exactly something
- 26:05you look for in a chef. Correct. pandemic, we
- 26:09actually had done a few conferences already.
- 26:11They're called the Plant -Based Summit. And we
- 26:13had, we worked with Dr. T. Colin Campbell. Were
- 26:16you doing those like around the New York City
- 26:18area? Yes, yes. We did one at Baruch College
- 26:20in Manhattan, and we also rented the Brooklyn
- 26:22Law School for a conference. And so we had already
- 26:26had some experience doing it. When the pandemic
- 26:28happened, you know, people were really searching
- 26:31even more and asking questions like, how is all
- 26:33this that's going on okay with God? A lot of
- 26:36people were asking questions. And these are the
- 26:39people who wouldn't necessarily walk into a church.
- 26:42So we felt like we had to provide something for
- 26:44them. And so we formed the Wisdom Pearl, a nonprofit
- 26:49organization. And we began organizing these outreach
- 26:52conferences for truth seekers who wouldn't walk
- 26:55into a church. But they would come to a hotel
- 26:58or they would come to like a super cool venue.
- 27:01Like we're renting the... U .S. Space and Rocket
- 27:05Center in Huntsville, Alabama. They have the
- 27:07largest rocket in the world, the Saturn V rocket.
- 27:09And we're having a conference there. And so we've
- 27:12also rented the Ark Encounters, Answer in Genesis
- 27:15Theater. And so, you know, just really super
- 27:17cool venues so that people can bring their, you
- 27:20know, non -church friends and truth seekers.
- 27:23And so with that, we just felt there's a class
- 27:27of people that is unreached. And those people
- 27:30need the Lord just as much as anyone else. And
- 27:33so we wanted to reach the higher classes. We
- 27:35wanted to reach the wealthier. And really, it's
- 27:38God. It's God that made those introductions.
- 27:40It's God that made all of those things happen.
- 27:43And he just put us in contact with those people.
- 27:47We met through Heidi's Health Kitchen. We won
- 27:50a chef competition at the Javits Center in New
- 27:53York City. And we were offered a restaurant deal
- 27:56by a celebrity chef who owns 27 restaurants.
- 28:00And we had the opportunity to witness to him
- 28:02about the Sabbath. Obviously, we didn't open
- 28:04a restaurant with him because he didn't agree
- 28:06to close it during Sabbath hours, even though
- 28:09we felt very confident that the Lord would make
- 28:11it his most profitable restaurant if he did.
- 28:14But, you know, God has just given us very unique
- 28:17opportunities to meet very high level people.
- 28:20And so we've used those opportunities to. share
- 28:24the gospel with them, to share Bible truths,
- 28:26deeper Bible truths with them, to influence the
- 28:29influencers. Very good. And that just became
- 28:32your outreach for the kitchen, or do you see
- 28:36it as a separate entity? It's really a separate
- 28:38entity, but we do combine them in some sense.
- 28:41I mean, we cater our own conferences. Very good.
- 28:43So people are getting a taste of Heidi's Health
- 28:45Kitchen as well. Do you include cards or information
- 28:49so that they can look up more recipes and how
- 28:51they can get other foods and stuff? We usually
- 28:53play a commercial or two for Heidi's Health Kitchen.
- 28:56Okay, so you have some sort of promotional element.
- 28:58Yeah, exactly. Very good. Yeah. What else do
- 29:01you want us to know about the Wisdom Pearl? Well,
- 29:03the Wisdom Pearl is we're now expanding out of
- 29:06just conferences. For example, we are just now
- 29:08looking to do very high -impact, high -level
- 29:12events. And just a quick teaser for something
- 29:14we have coming up Christmas, December 21st, we're
- 29:18organizing an 80 -member orchestral concert at
- 29:21the Lincoln Center. They're David Geffen Hall,
- 29:24which is unbelievably beautiful. And it's called
- 29:28The Desire of All Nations. And we're inviting
- 29:31dignitaries and leaders from the UN and from
- 29:35nations, as well as some very high -profile people
- 29:38in our country, to attend this event. And throughout
- 29:42the musical... sections will be read from The
- 29:46Desire of Ages. And a beautiful hard copy version
- 29:50of The Desire of Ages will be given to the VIPs.
- 29:53Amen. What an outreach. Yeah. You know, that
- 29:58kind of impact at big levels will cause people
- 30:01to reflect on who they are in their own spiritual
- 30:05journey, but also in their religious liberty
- 30:07treatment of others in a different spiritual
- 30:10journey. Yes. And you never know where that's
- 30:13going to lead. Absolutely. We could have, wow,
- 30:15this could be. But, you know, we have to trust
- 30:17God and let his Holy Spirit lead. We're to do
- 30:20the work and we're to let God do the reaping,
- 30:23right? Amen. Yeah. Amen. I know you have some
- 30:27thoughts from Scripture you want to share with
- 30:29us. Would you do that? Well, my very favorite
- 30:30chapter in the Bible is Isaiah chapter 30. It,
- 30:33to me, is very... reflective of the journey that
- 30:36I've been on with the Lord because I was one
- 30:38of those rebellious children. It starts out saying,
- 30:40woe to the rebellious children. And my favorite
- 30:43verse in the chapter is verse 15. It says, for
- 30:47thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel,
- 30:50in returning and in rest, you shall be saved.
- 30:54In quietness and in confidence shall be your
- 30:57strength. Now, the end of that verse is, but
- 30:59you would not. And for many years, I would not.
- 31:02But God got my attention. He saved me miraculously,
- 31:06and so I'm all in. Amen. All in for Jesus. Yes.
- 31:11Amen. Heidi, you've encouraged me, and I know
- 31:14you've encouraged Jordan. He's been over there
- 31:15smiling and enjoying the program as well. I hope
- 31:18our audience as well has been blessed. Thank
- 31:20you so much for sharing with us. Thank you for
- 31:22having me. Thanks for having me, Chris. We're
- 31:23going to say the websites one more time. We'll
- 31:26also put those in the page information for our
- 31:31listeners and viewers to check out. Heidi'sHealthKitchen
- 31:34.com and TheWisdomPearl .org. Correct. And with
- 31:38Heidi'sHealthKitchen .com, we ship our products
- 31:40across the country. So check us out. What if
- 31:43I live in another country? It's more expensive.
- 31:46It can be done? It can be done. All right. Very
- 31:49good. Heidi, thanks so much. It's been good to
- 31:51reconnect. Yeah. So what a blessing. Thanks so
- 31:53much for your time. That is our program from
- 31:56here at the ASI North American Division Exhibit
- 32:00Hall. in Orlando, Florida, 2025. It's truly been
- 32:05a blessing to have you along with us. Remember,
- 32:08you can connect with us at missionsunlight .org.

- 32:14are blessed by your prayers. So if you can't
- 32:17do anything else, pray for us and know that we
- 32:20are praying for you. And I say to that, thank
- 32:22you, thank you, thank you. That is our program.
