Liable For Uncollected Money
Poland promulgated a law on Monday that turns a short-let operator into a tax remitter.
Not a collector. A remitter. The distinction is worth money.
The Act of 18 September amending the Local Taxes and Charges Act, the Personal Income Tax Act and the Civil Law Transactions Tax Act was promulgated on Monday 19 October 2026 at position 1354. The short-let provisions bite on 1 January 2027.
New article 17, paragraph 9:
"Collection of the local charge and the spa charge is effected by the remitter, which is the entity providing accommodation services."
