A New Zealand shearer, Dylan George Manthey, 30, was sentenced to six months community detention and 12 months supervision after admitting to violently abusing lambs during a Peta undercover investigation. Footage showed him throwing and swinging lambs into pens, causing severe pain — confirmed by a vet. His sentence also addressed two prior driving offenses. The 11-month Peta probe across 34 farms revealed widespread deliberate abuse, with over 230 videos submitted to authorities.
