- 0:01So instead of risking telling a story at
- 0:03twelve fourteen,
- 0:05we just stop and stare in each other's
- 0:07eyes.
- 0:29From the gym to the screen, yeah,
- 0:31we cover it all.
- 0:32Midday motivation every time you press
- 0:34call.
- 0:35Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 0:37Cowboy bring the heat.
- 0:39Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.
- 0:42Half hour hustle, yeah,
- 0:44we building that brand.
- 0:45Grab a plate, tune in now,
- 0:47you're part of the fam.
- 0:55It's lunchtime.
- 1:02Someone challenged me to hold it longer
- 1:03yesterday.
- 1:04I just, I don't remember what it was,
- 1:06but I do remember that asking that to
- 1:07be a thing.
- 1:08So I went,
- 1:09went a couple of seconds longer just to
- 1:11prove that I can.
- 1:12Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:14Tell me I can't.
- 1:15I'm going to show you.
- 1:17I can.
- 1:18At that conversation yesterday,
- 1:21that conversation yesterday.
- 1:23I know.
- 1:23So not only do we talk about it,
- 1:24I'm living it.
- 1:27You either live it or you don't.
- 1:28I mean, I feel like that's the thing.
- 1:31What's up, dude?
- 1:33Oh, man, dude.
- 1:35I hate my job,
- 1:36and I'm just trying to like... Really?
- 1:39I had no idea.
- 1:41So I peek behind the curtain.
- 1:43Corey texts me and says, hey,
- 1:46I got a thing to do.
- 1:49I might be late.
- 1:51And like,
- 1:51I'm in this like weird mindset where work
- 1:54is just going so shitty this morning.
- 1:56I really don't have any huge ideas to
- 1:58the, for the show.
- 1:59And on those days, Corey is my crutch.
- 2:02I just pull the string and let him
- 2:03go.
- 2:04And then that like starts a show.
- 2:06And then,
- 2:06and then we kind of get into a
- 2:07pace and we can go.
- 2:09And I'm like, son of a bitch.
- 2:10The guy's not here.
- 2:13Then I got here before anybody else did.
- 2:14Yeah.
- 2:15Yeah.
- 2:17I really didn't know how long it was
- 2:18going to last.
- 2:20FYI,
- 2:21Taco Tuesday extends to primary schools
- 2:26and Ascension Parish.
- 2:29Because at Jameson's thing,
- 2:30they had a TV screen and whatnot up
- 2:33in their little cafeteria area where they
- 2:35did the honor roll assembly and they had
- 2:38the menu for the week.
- 2:40It's Taco Tuesday at Sorrento Primary.
- 2:43Taco Tuesday is universal, man.
- 2:46That's what Joseph told me because I
- 2:48texted him and said, FYI,
- 2:51it's Taco Tuesday.
- 2:52He's like, it's Taco Tuesday everywhere.
- 2:54I hate to break that to you.
- 2:54I was like, man,
- 2:55let them kids have their moment, bro.
- 2:57Now,
- 2:58Pocket Taco Tuesday is a whole different
- 3:00thing.
- 3:00That's a whole different thing.
- 3:01That's just for special areas,
- 3:03special people.
- 3:05Special people.
- 3:06That's not limited to just areas.
- 3:09I don't think that's a good way to
- 3:10go with that.
- 3:12So I listened to the Sunday show.
- 3:15I got to address this real quick.
- 3:17So Craig Pasley,
- 3:20rock critic apparently because he goes to
- 3:22every rock concert in his area all the
- 3:24time.
- 3:25Love that.
- 3:27That he gives us a peek into all
- 3:28that.
- 3:29Says that the Trista Smith show this
- 3:31morning was really good.
- 3:33I couldn't make it through.
- 3:35I felt a hundred and twelve years old
- 3:39listening to that show.
- 3:41It was like I get...
- 3:47The young athletes,
- 3:49I can understand their mindset for the
- 3:51most part.
- 3:51It seems to me that this next generation
- 3:55coming up is where I'm going to be
- 3:57lost.
- 4:03I was completely lost in the conversation.
- 4:06Kudos to Savan for hanging and asking more
- 4:10questions.
- 4:12I would have been at a loss.
- 4:16Did you get to the point where she
- 4:17said that her and her boyfriend living in
- 4:18that fifth wheel?
- 4:20I did.
- 4:21Working, like doing line and stuff.
- 4:25She is,
- 4:27she is a thirty six year old.
- 4:31Like mother of three living in a twenty
- 4:33three year old CrossFit athletes, games,
- 4:35athletes body.
- 4:36See, I don't think so.
- 4:37I think she is a twenty-one-year-old that
- 4:39I do not understand the language.
- 4:40I don't understand.
- 4:43Generation Z, whatever it is now,
- 4:45that look at life differently,
- 4:48I don't relate to.
- 4:50She was talking about going to the coin
- 4:51laundry,
- 4:52going to the laundromat and washing
- 4:54clothes and them just falling asleep,
- 4:57watching a show and whatnot.
- 5:01That sounds like my life.
- 5:02Maybe not the coin,
- 5:03maybe not the laundromat stuff,
- 5:04but just...
- 5:06falling asleep,
- 5:06watching TV and then getting up and going
- 5:08to bed and getting up and going back
- 5:09in and train in the morning and whatnot.
- 5:11And like,
- 5:12and she's making lunch for her boyfriend
- 5:14before he goes out and makes his breakfast
- 5:15and sends him out to work in the
- 5:17morning.
- 5:17And like,
- 5:19it did not sound to me any,
- 5:21anything like what I know.
- 5:23I got a, a, a, a, a, a,
- 5:25a, a, a, a, a, a, a,
- 5:32That part, like I can relate to,
- 5:34like I did go to the laundromat as
- 5:35a kid.
- 5:36My mother had this idea that it was
- 5:38better to do your laundry in an hour
- 5:40and a half than it is to do
- 5:44it all day long in your home.
- 5:46Don't get that concept.
- 5:48Would much rather do it in my own
- 5:49home.
- 5:50And then we were tasked with once a
- 5:52month,
- 5:53each member of the family had to go
- 5:54do the laundry.
- 5:54The whole family's laundry.
- 5:59take care.
- 6:00We've been saving up dirty clothes for
- 6:03twenty eight days.
- 6:05There's a week I'm going to send in
- 6:07all the dirty clothes.
- 6:10That's wild work right there.
- 6:15Anyway, that's that's I mean,
- 6:17I was in and out this morning listening
- 6:19to it.
- 6:19But when you texted me and said,
- 6:21I feel one hundred twelve years,
- 6:22I was like,
- 6:22I feel one hundred forty five listening to
- 6:24like the first part of the conversation.
- 6:26But once it got into like the normals,
- 6:27I was like, OK, yeah,
- 6:28like that sounds
- 6:31That sounds a lot more relatable to me
- 6:33than like the very first part of the
- 6:35conversation.
- 6:35And I think that's one of Saban's gifts
- 6:38is being able to kind of navigate,
- 6:43you know,
- 6:44between like the people he talks to that
- 6:46are my age or your age and the
- 6:50people who are like, nineteen years old,
- 6:52twenty years old and whatnot,
- 6:53and being able to navigate both sides of
- 6:56that, because he'll tell you flat is like,
- 6:57I don't understand what you just said.
- 6:59i need you to explain it oh um
- 7:04tessa we're bummed uh we missed you too
- 7:06yeah you missed a hell of a show
- 7:09we had pyrotechnics and uh there's a
- 7:13guitar solo at one point it was fantastic
- 7:15i need to go back and watch it
- 7:17corey sang oddly enough vicky played
- 7:21harmonica it was wild i think he was
- 7:26in the back on bass and keyboards
- 7:29Slapping the bass.
- 7:30Slapping the bass.
- 7:35Vicky with the jab,
- 7:36boys mature far later than girls, if ever.
- 7:42I've had this here.
- 7:42I told my daughter, like,
- 7:45if the guy you're interested in hasn't
- 7:47matured by twenty eight, he never will.
- 7:54That's a hundred percent fair.
- 7:55You can give the real till twenty eight.
- 7:59And then if he's not going on cut
- 8:01bait, leave.
- 8:02Yeah,
- 8:04I am forty nine years old and I
- 8:05still act like I'm seventeen most of the
- 8:08time.
- 8:08So I get that a lot.
- 8:13that's fine as long as your maturity level
- 8:16with like your responsibilities are at the
- 8:20adult level.
- 8:21I'm talking about the men she is seeking
- 8:23to partner with for the rest of her
- 8:25life.
- 8:27There is a point where like you either
- 8:30are or you aren't.
- 8:32And it's around that I've seen with myself
- 8:36and my friends.
- 8:37Yeah, that's fair.
- 8:39That's fair.
- 8:40I,
- 8:42I went to leave for work yesterday,
- 8:43and my Jeep wouldn't start because
- 8:44apparently the battery's dead.
- 8:47And I spent the entirety of my evening
- 8:50going back and forth because I ordered a
- 8:52battery.
- 8:52They sent it.
- 8:54It was the wrong one.
- 8:55Didn't fit.
- 8:55I had to go back to Walmart,
- 8:56go exchange it,
- 8:58and then go get my laptop from the
- 8:59office because apparently I was working
- 9:00from home.
- 9:01All of that felt like very adult.
- 9:04Like I was adulting super hard last night,
- 9:07taking care of all those things that I
- 9:10need to actually take care of.
- 9:12And you were in an honor roll celebration
- 9:14for your daughter,
- 9:14which means you're adulting because you
- 9:16are raising her in a way where she's
- 9:18making the honor roll.
- 9:19Yeah.
- 9:21We had parent-teacher conference last week
- 9:23and her two teachers were over the moon
- 9:26about how smart she is and how curious
- 9:28she is and how much she likes being
- 9:30in class and participating and all that
- 9:31kind of stuff.
- 9:33She's great.
- 9:34She's pretty fun.
- 9:36Yes,
- 9:36if you did not see the WOD Prep
- 9:39podcast yesterday with Micah,
- 9:41Mr. Shoemaker, he of Magic City Games,
- 9:45I volunteered us to do the review of
- 9:48the Magic City weekend review that Micah
- 9:51said he's not actually going to do.
- 9:59I did not listen to it.
- 10:01It was...
- 10:03it was pretty good,
- 10:04but like he was getting back down towards
- 10:06the end of it.
- 10:07And he was just saying like how he
- 10:08was going to be as transparent as
- 10:10possible.
- 10:10Like, you know,
- 10:11all the stuff that he could share,
- 10:12he's going to share, you know,
- 10:13leading up to the fastest games and
- 10:15whatnot.
- 10:16And he said, I mean,
- 10:17I'm not going to do a, uh,
- 10:19know do like a dave's like weekend review
- 10:21or whatnot and then me and joey perez
- 10:23immediately were like oh so you're doing a
- 10:25weekend review awesome and joyce joyce
- 10:29said in closet media is going to do
- 10:30the review of micah's weekend review and i
- 10:33was like yep absolutely me and scott on
- 10:35on top of their review of the week
- 10:37we can review and michael was like i'm
- 10:39not doing that i was like cool we'll
- 10:42see you as soon as you get it
- 10:43done
- 10:47I told you this, like,
- 10:49we're having Micah on on Sunday.
- 10:51And there's part of me that, like,
- 10:53I don't want to be influenced by the
- 10:56questions of others.
- 10:58Sure.
- 10:58Right?
- 10:59In both ways.
- 11:00Like, I don't want to...
- 11:02have i go into these thinking like it's
- 11:05a new audience right now some people have
- 11:08seen this stuff some people haven't but
- 11:11our audience may be different so i don't
- 11:13want to not ask a question because it
- 11:16was on another show not at all we
- 11:18have a new audience and i don't want
- 11:21to be influenced by the answers that he's
- 11:23given because i want to do my own
- 11:25follow-up absolutely absolutely
- 11:29And after Sunday night,
- 11:30I think we're going to have a very
- 11:31interesting conversation.
- 11:33Yeah.
- 11:34I watched.
- 11:36Ninety percent.
- 11:37I say I remember I stopped it last
- 11:39night,
- 11:39but I had it on in the car
- 11:40as I was driving around doing all my
- 11:42adult self last night.
- 11:44And apparently.
- 11:46You are fitter than Amy Kringle,
- 11:48according to Jamie.
- 11:49I didn't even know that.
- 11:50I mean,
- 11:52I know you've been putting in the work.
- 11:54Getting it all down and whatnot.
- 11:56But I about peed myself laughing when
- 12:00Jamie said, I mean,
- 12:01I guess you just fitted in Amy Kringle.
- 12:03And I went, what?
- 12:08Makes perfect sense.
- 12:08I'm just better at swinging a bag between
- 12:11my legs and throwing it over a bar.
- 12:16Oh, so far,
- 12:18I haven't finished it and I plan on
- 12:19finishing it.
- 12:19But so far,
- 12:20it's my favorite part of the entire show.
- 12:21That's why I...
- 12:23Well,
- 12:23the part you need to see is the
- 12:25end where Jamie says that...
- 12:28That's what I was getting to.
- 12:30I was trying to get to that.
- 12:32But she's not happy Micah's doing the
- 12:34games.
- 12:35I'm aware.
- 12:36Which is going to make the Sunday night
- 12:37show that much more interesting.
- 12:41Now, out of context, that sounds awful,
- 12:44but she has reasoning behind it,
- 12:46and it's nothing against Micah.
- 12:47Oh, yeah.
- 12:47No, it never has been.
- 12:51It's about the systemic issue of the
- 12:55oversight of CrossFit HQ on the Masters
- 12:57Division.
- 13:00Yep.
- 13:01If I'm guessing,
- 13:02without listening to anything that she
- 13:04actually said,
- 13:04because I didn't get there yet,
- 13:06it's probably for the same reason that she
- 13:07didn't like the fight that Joe and Bob
- 13:09had.
- 13:11Well,
- 13:12she defended them a little more than I
- 13:13would have, but okay.
- 13:16Yeah.
- 13:17I have my own personal beefs with Joe
- 13:18and Bob.
- 13:19It's a whole different show.
- 13:22But she was like, they got hammered.
- 13:27And some of that wasn't their fault.
- 13:28Some of them is they just don't get
- 13:30the support that they need.
- 13:33I think being told you have to do
- 13:35your Masters CrossFit Games at this
- 13:37location, at this price,
- 13:39and we're not going to give you any
- 13:40money,
- 13:41does put them behind the eight ball for
- 13:42sure.
- 13:43Absolutely.
- 13:45Absolutely.
- 13:45I would one hundred percent agree with
- 13:47that.
- 13:47So...
- 13:50but it doesn't mean that I don't dislike
- 13:55them for the way that things have rolled
- 13:58with us.
- 13:59Correct.
- 14:01Same.
- 14:03Same.
- 14:05So I don't know if you, uh,
- 14:08saw this breaking news.
- 14:11Oh, breaking news.
- 14:12I love breaking news.
- 14:15Uh,
- 14:15are we breaking this news or is it
- 14:16breaking?
- 14:17No, no spin spin.
- 14:19Uh,
- 14:22New job opening.
- 14:24Director of CrossFit Marketing.
- 14:28CrossFit Recruiting Director of Community
- 14:30Marketing.
- 14:32This is on the spin.
- 14:33You can go check it out.
- 14:34The print is really small.
- 14:37But just the headlines of what the person
- 14:41is going to be in charge of.
- 14:43Affiliate Communication.
- 14:44Affiliate Toolkit.
- 14:45International Community Marketing.
- 14:48Owners and Coaches.
- 14:50Campaign Activation.
- 14:53engagement and sentiment,
- 14:55affiliate media activation,
- 14:57growth planning, and reporting.
- 15:02Interesting.
- 15:04That's a lot.
- 15:05That seems like a lot.
- 15:07I'm assuming that's not a minimum wage
- 15:10job.
- 15:13And this person is going to own all
- 15:15of these things.
- 15:17leading affiliate communications,
- 15:20set the affiliate calendar and integrated
- 15:23marketing, develop new owner channels,
- 15:28own strategy,
- 15:29set the content roadmap and site
- 15:31structure,
- 15:33track and analyze resource usage,
- 15:36help lead international marketing and
- 15:38build out the community marketing function
- 15:40across CrossFit's big eight markets,
- 15:44Recruit, activate,
- 15:45and set strategy for in-market community
- 15:48marketing managers.
- 15:49Extend brand awareness and family.
- 15:53That seems like a team job.
- 15:55Well, I'm sure you're there.
- 15:57I hope they're going to be able to
- 15:59hire a team.
- 16:00To hire a team,
- 16:01because that's a lot for one person to
- 16:03do.
- 16:05What do you think the big eight are?
- 16:09Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, the UK,
- 16:12Ireland.
- 16:14d-a-c-h australia and south korea that
- 16:23sounds like some i know it's not but
- 16:27gosh so the u.s or canada aren't in
- 16:29the big eight i'm assuming that's a quiz
- 16:33because it's international so i'm assuming
- 16:36they're they're they're they're separating
- 16:38those things
- 16:40us is one thing and then the big
- 16:42eight or something else i really want to
- 16:44know what dash is i'm gonna need somebody
- 16:46to look that up her name is vicky
- 16:48vicky what is dash help us out um
- 16:54the australian chinese homeland like what
- 16:56is d-a-t-h that would be da with a
- 16:59d with a da uh they uh turn
- 17:02company campaigns the open murph community
- 17:05cup brand campaigns into affiliate
- 17:07playbooks assets and timelines
- 17:10What does that even mean?
- 17:12You mean they're not going to ignore the
- 17:13Community Cup anymore?
- 17:15I doubt that, seriously.
- 17:17How long has the Community Cup been
- 17:19happening?
- 17:19Three years?
- 17:21Two.
- 17:23Is it just two?
- 17:23Last year was the first year?
- 17:26Yep.
- 17:29The DAS region is a geographic and
- 17:30business term for the German-speaking
- 17:32countries in Central Europe, Germany,
- 17:36Austria...
- 17:38confederacy helvetica i thought helvetica
- 17:44was a font is it not you oh
- 17:54they should name it the ojo that would
- 17:56solve a lot of problems honestly well i
- 17:58don't know they might be they'll probably
- 17:59get a copyright strike for anything in the
- 18:01dojo
- 18:04CBS already knocked us down a peg.
- 18:07ESPN is probably just lurking in the
- 18:09shadows.
- 18:09They're sitting there waiting right now.
- 18:11It's like, say no, Joe.
- 18:12I dare you.
- 18:13I don't dare you.
- 18:16That seems like a lot.
- 18:19For you,
- 18:19that was the first marketing test they
- 18:21failed.
- 18:22Yeah, more than likely.
- 18:24That's actually not the first marketing
- 18:25test they failed.
- 18:26They failed a lot of marketing tests.
- 18:27Let's be honest here.
- 18:30I want to know if you are listening
- 18:32to this show right now,
- 18:33if you are watching this show right now,
- 18:35and that goes for anybody in the chat,
- 18:37anybody who's just lurking and listening
- 18:38right now,
- 18:39hop in the chat and tell us if
- 18:41you did the Community Cup.
- 18:45I want to know who did the Community
- 18:46Cup.
- 18:47I really, really do.
- 18:49And why?
- 18:50Did you?
- 18:51No.
- 18:53I did not know it was happening.
- 18:54Vicky,
- 18:55can you give us a hand if you
- 18:56did the Community Cup?
- 18:59No hand.
- 19:03She registered.
- 19:03I forgot it was happening.
- 19:07The old Seinfeld reservation thing.
- 19:11The key to the reservation is holding the
- 19:15reservation.
- 19:16Anybody can throw them out.
- 19:18Take one here, take one there,
- 19:19take one there.
- 19:20You can make eighteen reservations if you
- 19:22need to.
- 19:26We got a nope.
- 19:27We got a I did not.
- 19:29We got a, did not.
- 19:33I'm the same way.
- 19:33So it was not announced much.
- 19:35So it passed me by.
- 19:37Correct.
- 19:38It almost passed Dave Castro by he said,
- 19:41Oh, I remembered.
- 19:42Oh, let me get those in.
- 19:44You said it before I could.
- 19:45That's,
- 19:46that's exactly what I was fixing to say.
- 19:48Like Dave Castro for Christ's sake was
- 19:49like, Oh yeah, how do you do that?
- 19:51And it was what, like three days left.
- 19:54Yeah.
- 19:54He had to bang him out in a
- 19:56weekend.
- 19:58Joey Perez didn't do it either.
- 20:02Joey,
- 20:02I know a bunch of people that did
- 20:03the Service Cup.
- 20:04Yeah.
- 20:05The Service Cup is... It's...
- 20:10It's a tenant.
- 20:11It is a tenant of CrossFit.
- 20:15I was going to say broad, general,
- 20:16and inclusive.
- 20:17But yes, it's a tenant of CrossFit.
- 20:20Yeah.
- 20:20First responders and CrossFit go together.
- 20:25All day long.
- 20:26And so it means something to this
- 20:27community.
- 20:28Yeah.
- 20:30I know people that signed up.
- 20:32I know people that almost made it.
- 20:33I know people that did make it.
- 20:34I know people that got picked to be
- 20:36on other people's teams because they were
- 20:40prior service or...
- 20:46Fergie with the zinger.
- 20:48Community Cup sounds like something the
- 20:49catcher shared on my low-league baseball
- 20:51team.
- 20:54You're going to use it today, Billy.
- 20:58Johnny used it last week.
- 21:00Yeah.
- 21:01Hey, we're switching.
- 21:02We're switching catchers out.
- 21:03You need to go to first base.
- 21:04Hey, pull that cup out.
- 21:05We got to give it.
- 21:05We got to give it to Hank.
- 21:08Here's the thing.
- 21:11Trying to get back.
- 21:14The community, the service cup is very,
- 21:18is more narrow focused, right?
- 21:21You've got these categories, educators,
- 21:23first responders, veterans, whatever.
- 21:27That's your tenants.
- 21:30The Community Cup is for everybody,
- 21:34aka the name, the Community Cup.
- 21:37And I know an exponential number more of
- 21:41people that did the Service Cup than did
- 21:43the Community Cup because they didn't know
- 21:45shit about it.
- 21:46Yeah.
- 21:51That blows my mind.
- 21:52And it's all that mayhem.
- 21:55The community cup is all, excuse me,
- 21:59the service cup is all being taken care
- 22:01of by mayhem.
- 22:03It's another example of CrossFit like
- 22:05handing off the responsibility to somebody
- 22:07else.
- 22:08And because it means something to mayhem,
- 22:10they've kept it going.
- 22:11Correct.
- 22:13And they've made it cooler than it's ever
- 22:15been in the past by having an in-person
- 22:16finals where they just love on the first
- 22:19responders.
- 22:24The girl I went to,
- 22:26I did Fitness at the Coast with this
- 22:27past year, went the last year,
- 22:31and she said it was amazing.
- 22:32From the moment they walked in the door
- 22:34until they left.
- 22:35Well,
- 22:35our very own Carolyn Prevo won it last
- 22:37year.
- 22:37Exactly.
- 22:38And had a blast.
- 22:40Yeah.
- 22:40Said they got treated so well there.
- 22:44As they should have.
- 22:45Right?
- 22:47But why isn't it like that again?
- 22:49All the time.
- 22:50Or why isn't that putting the emphasis on
- 22:52the community cup?
- 22:55If you want it to be this thing,
- 22:57so Mayhem has taken the service cup and
- 22:59run with it, right?
- 23:00There's other competitions going on right
- 23:02now.
- 23:02Have it run it like you do that.
- 23:07You're going to have people that,
- 23:08what do you get if you win the
- 23:09community cup?
- 23:10Does anybody know?
- 23:11No, nobody knows.
- 23:15Vicky signed up for it.
- 23:18and just was like, yep,
- 23:19I guess that's a thing I should probably
- 23:20do and then didn't.
- 23:22Right?
- 23:23Nobody else,
- 23:24like Joseph said the same thing,
- 23:25it just passed him by.
- 23:26I did not know it was happening until
- 23:28I saw Dave's weekend review when he was
- 23:30like, oh yeah, the Community Cup,
- 23:31I should probably do that.
- 23:34So if there's no such,
- 23:37if there's no thing attached to it,
- 23:39like whether it's a, oh,
- 23:41you can come at this competition and we'll
- 23:43do like an in-person final or whatever the
- 23:46case may be, then nobody gives a damn.
- 23:49There's no end goal other than what you're
- 23:50going to get.
- 23:51An online certificate you can print out
- 23:53and put up on your wall somewhere.
- 23:54I can make one,
- 23:55or Vicky can make one of them in
- 23:56about ten seconds.
- 23:58I can't because I don't know how chat
- 24:00GPT works, but it's...
- 24:06Too bad the Service Cup isn't a little
- 24:08bigger where they invite more
- 24:09participants.
- 24:11Here's what I think, Joseph.
- 24:13I think it's smart the way they're doing
- 24:15it now.
- 24:16And as it grows,
- 24:18they add more participants as they go.
- 24:20Instead of trying to do the whole national
- 24:24champions in one big ball of wax,
- 24:30let's build it
- 24:32Let's build it up so it makes sense.
- 24:34People are aware of it.
- 24:36It keeps growing bigger and bigger and
- 24:38bigger.
- 24:39And then we expand.
- 24:42So you're suggesting organic growth?
- 24:43Is that what you, you know,
- 24:45just kind of let it grow on its
- 24:46own?
- 24:47Feed it, water it,
- 24:48give it some sunshine and just watch it
- 24:52blow up into a thing?
- 24:57About the national champions,
- 25:00it's a thing, right?
- 25:03It's a thing we're supposed to care about.
- 25:06We haven't even launched.
- 25:08We're three months from launching the
- 25:10season that's going to have this,
- 25:12and we don't even know if it fits
- 25:13in the season.
- 25:16Dave announced we have like seven hundred
- 25:19people that have signed up to be the
- 25:21competitions.
- 25:22Okay, seventy-five or whatever he said.
- 25:24Same thing.
- 25:27And he's already moving it to, hey,
- 25:30in the States,
- 25:31we could have state champions.
- 25:33Dude, we haven't even started it.
- 25:39We don't even know if anybody's going to
- 25:42care.
- 25:44It's...
- 25:48It's that video of that influencer dude
- 25:50who's like,
- 25:51I wake up at four o'clock every morning
- 25:53and I get on the treadmill for three
- 25:54hours and me and my wife do blah,
- 25:57blah, blah.
- 25:57And then somebody in the comments says,
- 25:59yeah,
- 26:00I wake up three hours before I go
- 26:01to sleep.
- 26:03That's the same sort of mentality I get.
- 26:05We can do state champions.
- 26:06And then while you're at it,
- 26:07you can do county champions.
- 26:09For everywhere but Louisiana,
- 26:10we can do Paris champions.
- 26:11Hey,
- 26:12if you want to get technical about that,
- 26:14I'm the fittest dude in Burnside.
- 26:17Cause that's the community I live in.
- 26:20I used to be number two,
- 26:22my buddy Bernard,
- 26:23my best friend Bernard used to be,
- 26:25he was number one and we kind of
- 26:26swapped a little bit as he's gotten a
- 26:28little bit older.
- 26:29So technically I'm the fittest dude in
- 26:30Burnside right now.
- 26:31There you go.
- 26:33What's up?
- 26:34We go county, we go city,
- 26:38we go community.
- 26:39Oh wait, neighborhood.
- 26:40I'm the fittest guy in my neighborhood.
- 26:43My little development.
- 26:46Get you a shirt?
- 26:47Fittest in my house.
- 26:50Get you a shirt?
- 26:51Walter's fitter than me.
- 26:58Let me go move a little bit.
- 27:00My wife is texting me.
- 27:01I'm loud.
- 27:04She's working from home today doing some
- 27:05class stuff.
- 27:06That's not my problem.
- 27:07That's her problem.
- 27:08Look, I don't disagree.
- 27:13I don't...
- 27:15Get it.
- 27:16Not the wife stuff.
- 27:17That I definitely get.
- 27:18Joey is the cul-de-sac king.
- 27:21Joey is the fittest in the cul-de-sac.
- 27:23I love it.
- 27:25I am the fittest dude.
- 27:27Yeah,
- 27:28I'm the fittest dude currently wearing
- 27:30this hat.
- 27:31You understand?
- 27:32It's like, okay,
- 27:33when I go to coach a class and
- 27:35I tell them that your favorite five a.m.
- 27:40coach named Corey,
- 27:42who's currently wearing these shoes,
- 27:44did this for you right like i just
- 27:47made it a thing just out of the
- 27:49blue this that's the same thing dude like
- 27:51why would you do that i uh i
- 28:02don't even know anymore man but anyway
- 28:04they're hiring they're hiring if you want
- 28:10to take on all that
- 28:13Which, again, seems like a lot.
- 28:15Olive says she's the fittest in her core
- 28:17right now.
- 28:21There you go.
- 28:22There you go.
- 28:23That's because she hasn't arrested any
- 28:25crackheads lately.
- 28:34I was the fittest and only grandmaster at
- 28:36my affiliate.
- 28:37Grandmaster?
- 28:39Grandmaster.
- 28:41Grant master of what?
- 28:44Kung fu, probably.
- 28:47If I had to guess.
- 28:49Fergie is Hong Kong phooey.
- 28:52Yes.
- 28:55Oh, I love Hong Kong phooey.
- 28:57I used to anyway.
- 28:59That's a grandmaster?
- 29:00Fergie,
- 29:01I'm pretty sure that's just a master,
- 29:02brother.
- 29:03But you want to call me grand?
- 29:04Call me grand.
- 29:05You want to make me grand?
- 29:08Those are my favorite biscuits.
- 29:09Grands.
- 29:10Do you remember them?
- 29:12Yeah.
- 29:13Biscuits in a tube.
- 29:13You got to crack it open.
- 29:14Good stuff right there.
- 29:17Do you ever get scared popping the tube?
- 29:19Every time.
- 29:21I don't know.
- 29:21Like,
- 29:21I don't know what I think is going
- 29:23to happen.
- 29:26I don't know.
- 29:28Yeah.
- 29:29It's not like it's going to actually like,
- 29:31it doesn't have any C four in there
- 29:32to make it explode even more.
- 29:35No.
- 29:35For some reason,
- 29:36every time I go to like crack that
- 29:38on the counter.
- 29:39Like this.
- 29:40Yeah.
- 29:43To be fair,
- 29:46not a single one has ever exploded
- 29:48whenever I popped it open.
- 29:50It did exactly what it was supposed to
- 29:51do.
- 29:53Quote of the day,
- 29:53do you ever get scared popping the tube?
- 29:57From time to time, yes.
- 30:01Um, we,
- 30:03we started making our own pizzas at home
- 30:05just to kind of make them healthier.
- 30:07And,
- 30:08but you can buy like the Pillsbury pizza
- 30:10crust in that, in that tube, dude, every,
- 30:14every damn time.
- 30:15Yeah.
- 30:18It's like,
- 30:19it's like the dough coming at a rapid
- 30:20rate.
- 30:21It's going to hurt you.
- 30:25It's dough.
- 30:26I could take the dough and throw it
- 30:28at you and you'd be okay.
- 30:30Like you'd be fine.
- 30:31And then that's not coming.
- 30:33It's not coming at you with that kind
- 30:34of velocity.
- 30:34It just, in fact, in New York,
- 30:37it's a thing to throw the dough.
- 30:38Like everybody.
- 30:42They were trying to do that.
- 30:44It's a lot harder than it looks.
- 30:46Oh yeah.
- 30:46Yeah.
- 30:47Yeah.
- 30:48I've, I've,
- 30:48I've tried it with a dish rag.
- 30:50Yeah.
- 30:52but that's about as far as i got
- 30:55and dish racks don't generally expand as
- 30:57you do it like it doesn't get all
- 30:59crazy because it's it's just it's all held
- 31:03together sewn together is one piece yeah
- 31:07speaking of crazy i my mom's insurance
- 31:10company so my mom is in her eighties
- 31:13she lives alone in the house i grew
- 31:15up in
- 31:16The insurance company said they were going
- 31:18to drop her insurance for her homeowners
- 31:20if she didn't seal up her garage door
- 31:24better.
- 31:27Essentially,
- 31:27you needed to have a board over the
- 31:29garage door and some spray foam.
- 31:35She had a friend come out,
- 31:37help her out.
- 31:38And then she was going to spray foam
- 31:39it.
- 31:40My mom doesn't completely understand the
- 31:42concept of the spray foam.
- 31:44FaceTime her later and she's got like
- 31:47spray foam all over her hands.
- 31:52Stuff is sticky, dude.
- 31:55Everywhere.
- 31:59I just remember the first time I ever
- 32:01tried using spray foam.
- 32:02The brand we had was called Great Stuff.
- 32:06And we just made jokes like this is
- 32:09really great stuff.
- 32:10This stuff is so great.
- 32:12Like just dad jokes just on repeat because
- 32:15the can had great stuff written on it.
- 32:17I'm sure whoever,
- 32:19whatever marketing firm put that together
- 32:21was like,
- 32:21we're going to call it great stuff.
- 32:23Probably got three kids at home and a
- 32:24mortgage.
- 32:28I've been making ground chicken pizza
- 32:30crust.
- 32:31That's not pizza crust.
- 32:34It's a chicken burger.
- 32:37you put in the oven and you put
- 32:39pizza sauce on them it's probably good
- 32:42yeah not knocking it but you can't call
- 32:46that a pizza no that sounds like a
- 32:49lot of work like if i make a
- 32:51pizza at home it's a tortilla and then
- 32:54like whatever ground beef i got cooked and
- 32:56some vegetables the cheese on top pop it
- 32:58in the oven until the crust turns crispy
- 33:00and call it good
- 33:03When I was a kid,
- 33:03we used to have this truck that delivered
- 33:05food to our neighborhood called the
- 33:07Schwan's.
- 33:07Schwan's.
- 33:08Schwan's.
- 33:09And they used to sell pizza burgers that
- 33:12were,
- 33:13it was like a stuffed patty with
- 33:15mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce and
- 33:17pepperoni inside.
- 33:18Yeah.
- 33:20One of my favorite things in all of
- 33:22the world.
- 33:24Like that might be a death row meal
- 33:26for me as a pizza burger.
- 33:27Is Schwan's still a thing?
- 33:29I hope you never end up on death
- 33:30row.
- 33:30They changed their name.
- 33:33that i don't know dude uh can we
- 33:37can we not gloss over the fact that
- 33:39you said death row meal why would you
- 33:41be on death row scott you're the nicest
- 33:42person i know like i don't know man
- 33:51forget the burgers get the ice cream yeah
- 33:57the swan's ice cream is really top-notch
- 33:59I used to remember passing the Schwanz
- 34:02truck going down the street in my
- 34:03grandparents' neighborhood.
- 34:05And I always thought people get food
- 34:06delivered to their house.
- 34:08And I thought that was like the height
- 34:11of bougie-ness.
- 34:13Those people must be wealthy.
- 34:16Must have some money.
- 34:17Because we didn't.
- 34:18My truck never came to my grandparents'
- 34:20house.
- 34:20That's for sure.
- 34:23Used to love perusing the Schwanz catalog.
- 34:26Yeah.
- 34:27I never saw Mark Phillips as a peruser.
- 34:30No.
- 34:30I was going to say, that's...
- 34:33I could see him taking a gander.
- 34:36Maybe a gander.
- 34:37Probably a look-see.
- 34:37I could see him definitely taking a
- 34:40look-see.
- 34:41I just can't picture him perusing.
- 34:43Perusing seems... Oh, my word.
- 34:53Oh, Mr. Ramirez.
- 34:57Step one, make chicken pizza crust.
- 34:59Step two,
- 34:59toss chicken pizza out and get real pizza.
- 35:02I'm with that.
- 35:06I'm with that.
- 35:09It's my favorite.
- 35:10It's probably my favorite food that I grew
- 35:17up with grandparents.
- 35:20So that's the accent if I grew up
- 35:21with my grandparents.
- 35:23My mom was a single mom until I
- 35:26was...
- 35:28Nine, something like that.
- 35:30So did I grow up with them?
- 35:32Not necessarily,
- 35:33but I was there more often than I
- 35:35wasn't.
- 35:36Like I would get off the bus there
- 35:37in the afternoon, tell mom, got off work.
- 35:39Like that was my grandparents'
- 35:41neighborhood was my neighborhood all the
- 35:44way up through high school,
- 35:45really and truly.
- 35:48It's funny.
- 35:48My mom and her sister were best friends,
- 35:51like best, best friends.
- 35:53It was essentially my aunt was a
- 35:55co-parent.
- 35:56Oh, yeah.
- 35:58my cousin was a brother yeah i mean
- 36:01i would i put it like this dude
- 36:03if i did something wrong it also helped
- 36:07that we were in ridiculously small town
- 36:09right i got to hear it four different
- 36:12times by the time i got home got
- 36:15here from my grandparents possibly one of
- 36:18my aunts and or uncles and then my
- 36:21parent and then my mom all by the
- 36:23time i got home so yeah fun times
- 36:27I didn't have the privilege of knowing my
- 36:30grandparents very well.
- 36:32My grandmother died when I was two.
- 36:34My grandfather died of MS when I was
- 36:38six.
- 36:40And he lived with us for like the
- 36:42first five years of my life, pretty much.
- 36:45He would live with my mom for half
- 36:46the year and her sister for another half
- 36:48of the year.
- 36:50And then my dad's parents were just...
- 36:54jackasses so we just going to see them
- 36:59um so i don't i don't know what
- 37:02it's i've had people in my life that
- 37:04are like grandparents but i've never i
- 37:06didn't actually have a grandparent oh dude
- 37:09that sucks my grandparents were great all
- 37:14three sets plus the great grandparents
- 37:16that i uh i mean my great grandfather
- 37:18on my mom's side didn't speak english only
- 37:22french
- 37:23He knew like eight words in English.
- 37:26But that didn't stop him from trying to
- 37:27speak French to me whenever we went over
- 37:28there.
- 37:31And then his wife, my great grandmother,
- 37:36made it all the way to ninety two.
- 37:38Something like that.
- 37:41And not long before she passed,
- 37:42like when it was when the weather was
- 37:44kind of like it is right now,
- 37:45like it's been real nice down here.
- 37:46She would still go walk and get her
- 37:47exercise and take care of herself whenever
- 37:52the weather was nice.
- 37:54do you have siblings i got one brother
- 37:57i got one brother he is twelve years
- 37:59younger than i am um not super close
- 38:04i have one sister she's eighteen months
- 38:08younger than me it is uh and it's
- 38:13complicated yeah always
- 38:17Always.
- 38:17I love my brother very much.
- 38:19So I would go to bat for that
- 38:20dude any day of the week.
- 38:22And when we do talk to each other,
- 38:23we talk to each other like it's like
- 38:24we've been like, we never miss a beat.
- 38:27We just because of the age gap,
- 38:29we're just not super close.
- 38:32Would have guessed.
- 38:33Vicki was totally only child syndrome.
- 38:39Absolutely.
- 38:42Cause of my grandma still living good
- 38:43chance she's going to outlive her kids.
- 38:46So before my grandma, before she passed,
- 38:52her and my grandpa died six months apart
- 38:56to the day.
- 38:57He died six months later to the day
- 38:59she passed.
- 39:00But before that,
- 39:01we had told you Emily was going to
- 39:03outlive everybody.
- 39:04And she had Parkinson's.
- 39:06She was not necessarily okay.
- 39:07It was funny, though,
- 39:08because when somebody would go pick her up
- 39:11and go bring her to the casino or
- 39:13to have something to do,
- 39:14they said she'd straighten right up.
- 39:16And all of a sudden,
- 39:17she was good to go,
- 39:18like rocking and rolling,
- 39:19moving and grooving.
- 39:22Tessa has nine brothers and sisters all
- 39:24one year apart.
- 39:25You know what we call that?
- 39:27That is someone who is really damn good
- 39:29at pacing.
- 39:30Yeah.
- 39:33That's insane.
- 39:33If they are all one year apart, exactly,
- 39:37that is like you have the pace down
- 39:39for a long race.
- 39:41So...
- 39:46Jennifer's first cousin has three and
- 39:49they're all a year apart.
- 39:52Like within,
- 39:53like she had the last two on one
- 39:54deductible on her insurance and that was
- 39:57planned.
- 39:58I'm not, I'm not joking.
- 40:00Says the insurance guy that it's all about
- 40:02the deductible.
- 40:04That's what she, that's what she told us.
- 40:06Like that was the,
- 40:07that was the idea and she made it
- 40:10happen.
- 40:12She had the last two,
- 40:13her middle boy and the baby,
- 40:16that's a girl, on the same deductible.
- 40:19And that was planned.
- 40:21Corey's family sounds like a David Allen
- 40:23Coe song.
- 40:25I was drunk the day my mom got
- 40:26out of prison.
- 40:31And I went to pick her up in
- 40:32the rain.
- 40:36Oh, my Lord.
- 40:38So, hold up.
- 40:39Tesla's got...
- 40:40Nine brothers and sisters and they're all
- 40:42older than her.
- 40:46When did you get your first pair of
- 40:48new clothes, Tessa?
- 40:49That's what I'm curious about.
- 40:51She's still wearing hand-me-downs.
- 40:52She's probably still got hand-me-downs
- 40:54going on.
- 40:55Like, can I get a shirt?
- 40:58No, you can wear your brother's shirt.
- 41:01You know, the other thing is that, like,
- 41:03the parents had already been through all
- 41:05the, like, fall off the bed,
- 41:07fall off a ladder.
- 41:09She's fine.
- 41:11She don't even need a hug.
- 41:13They stopped caring about their children's
- 41:15safety probably about four kids in.
- 41:19Like, nobody was probably going to die.
- 41:20No, they'd be all right.
- 41:22If it's bad,
- 41:22the older brother will take care of it.
- 41:24I understand.
- 41:26I tell that to, like...
- 41:29One of my real good friends at the
- 41:31gym, one of my other coaches,
- 41:32they got three.
- 41:33And like the oldest is sixteen.
- 41:36The middle one's twelve or fourteen.
- 41:38And then the younger one is about,
- 41:40she's right at,
- 41:41her and Jameson are like four months
- 41:42apart.
- 41:43I had to wear my brother's Brady Bunch
- 41:45pants.
- 41:45I had to wear my brother's Brady Bunch
- 41:46pants.
- 41:49But we'll see then.
- 41:50It was nineteen ninety two.
- 41:52Yeah, absolutely.
- 41:55Um, but yeah, we'll see them.
- 41:57That's,
- 41:57that's my running joke is if anybody has
- 42:00got more than three, I'm like,
- 42:01and if I see them out somewhere and
- 42:02they don't have their kids with them,
- 42:03I'm like,
- 42:04so it's a big one watching a little,
- 42:05is that how that works?
- 42:06Like silent.
- 42:08Cause my big one right now is,
- 42:10and like,
- 42:10he has watched his sister quite a bit
- 42:13as a matter of fact, but she's eight.
- 42:16I think it's going to be nine.
- 42:17So that's not necessarily a thing anymore.
- 42:19Yes.
- 42:20Yes.
- 42:20Vicky, is she bleeding?
- 42:23How much?
- 42:25We always got, is there blood?
- 42:28There's no blood.
- 42:29You're good.
- 42:29Go back outside.
- 42:32I tell the story of my oldest who
- 42:33was.
- 42:35Was jumping on trampoline one day,
- 42:37Saturday afternoon.
- 42:38I don't know.
- 42:39I was inside watching TV for some reason
- 42:41or whatnot.
- 42:41And she come inside,
- 42:42holding her arm out like this.
- 42:43And she was said, what happened?
- 42:47I was like, I said,
- 42:48can you do like this?
- 42:52And she picked up her arm and kind
- 42:54of, I said, where were your fingers?
- 42:57She went with her fingers.
- 42:57I said, are you bleeding?
- 42:59She said, no.
- 43:01I said, go back outside.
- 43:03There's nothing wrong with you.
- 43:05You're going to be fine.
- 43:06Don't fall off the trampoline again.
- 43:10I, uh,
- 43:12On another topic, you know,
- 43:13I've been saying for my thirtieth wedding
- 43:15anniversary this coming year,
- 43:17my wife wants to go to New Orleans.
- 43:19Yep.
- 43:20For shits and giggles,
- 43:21I looked up the Mississippi River cruise.
- 43:24Oh.
- 43:27From Memphis to New Orleans.
- 43:29Yeah.
- 43:32Dude,
- 43:32I could probably take two cruises to the
- 43:35Bahamas.
- 43:35Oh, sure.
- 43:37For the same price to go down the
- 43:39damn Mississippi.
- 43:40You could probably get on whatever they're
- 43:43using to transport those ducks that Vicky
- 43:45thought were coming down New Orleans and
- 43:47just ride with that.
- 43:51The Memphis ducks.
- 43:52The Memphis ducks.
- 43:56That she swears were in New Orleans.
- 43:58She was all up in it.
- 44:00It's a throwback, y'all.
- 44:04That's why the boat's so expensive because
- 44:06you have to make room for the ducks.
- 44:07You have to make room for the ducks.
- 44:09Make sure they get fed and all that
- 44:11good shit.
- 44:11That way they can get off the dock
- 44:13where they need to.
- 44:14That's another reason why it's so
- 44:15expensive.
- 44:16That boat is hauling ass because they got
- 44:18to do it every day.
- 44:23don't make me hop on the live to
- 44:25flip you the bird yeah y'all can't see
- 44:28our producer just flip me off it's fine
- 44:30no big deal she loves me um yeah
- 44:36dude any of those so we were there's
- 44:39a plantation house right down the street
- 44:41from right down the street from us and
- 44:43uh they got restaurant a bunch of
- 44:45different places you can go check out went
- 44:47over there one day just to go look
- 44:49um
- 44:50Bring the kids and there's a bridge that
- 44:53goes across to the levee.
- 44:55We went over there and we're just kind
- 44:56of looking around, showing Jameson.
- 44:58Hey, it's the Mississippi River,
- 44:59all that good stuff.
- 45:00And there was a cruise ship in the
- 45:04Mississippi River.
- 45:05Now, not like a princess or whatever,
- 45:08but it was clearly a cruise ship,
- 45:09just a smaller scale.
- 45:11And that was the first time I ever
- 45:14saw, found out, whatever,
- 45:15that there are in fact cruises up and
- 45:17down the Mississippi River.
- 45:18It's a five deck boat.
- 45:21Yeah.
- 45:22It's not as big as if you go
- 45:23into the Caribbean or whatever else,
- 45:25but it is pretty darn big and it
- 45:27looks pretty darn nice.
- 45:29It actually holds a hundred and eighty
- 45:31people.
- 45:32Yeah, I could see that.
- 45:34And I said, I told Jim,
- 45:35I was like,
- 45:35what in the shit is this?
- 45:37Like, why?
- 45:38And it was one of the stops they
- 45:39got off.
- 45:40And if you put up on there,
- 45:41you could get off.
- 45:42And it was,
- 45:42I don't call it an excursion,
- 45:43but you can go and check out the
- 45:45plantations and blah, blah, whatever.
- 45:48But almost to a... Oh,
- 45:50that was a brochure I looked at.
- 45:53Almost to a person.
- 45:56Everybody had gray hair.
- 45:58And not just...
- 46:01know what i mean like there wasn't like
- 46:02a like a there's a thirty something year
- 46:04old couple involved no no these were all
- 46:08like i've been retired for fifteen years
- 46:10and well you know what the crazy thing
- 46:13is i went so i looked at the
- 46:16like the week we would want to do
- 46:17it and i looked at what rooms were
- 46:19available they were all sold out except
- 46:22for like the luxury suite
- 46:26We can get you on a boat,
- 46:27but we're going to have to put you
- 46:28up in the front and get you this
- 46:30nice enclosure.
- 46:31You're going to have your own two
- 46:33bathrooms in it and whatnot.
- 46:34It's going to cost you eight thousand
- 46:36dollars.
- 46:38Dude, it was on sale.
- 46:42Oh, here we go.
- 46:43Six thousand a person.
- 46:47A person to cruise the Mississippi from
- 46:51Memphis to New Orleans.
- 46:56You can see... Yeah, Joseph,
- 46:57it did have an oxygen tank club.
- 47:03Cruising from Memphis to New Orleans.
- 47:06FYI,
- 47:06you can drive from Memphis to New Orleans
- 47:08in about six hours.
- 47:10And apparently, if you're a duck,
- 47:11you can waddle from Memphis to New
- 47:13Orleans.
- 47:14Absolutely.
- 47:16I think she's over us.
- 47:19It was dollars, Joseph, not pesos.
- 47:22So you can either buy a used car...
- 47:27Yeah.
- 47:28For me,
- 47:28Angelia would be twelve thousand dollars.
- 47:30Thousand dollars.
- 47:32You can either buy a used car or
- 47:34take your wife on a Mississippi river
- 47:36cruise where you can, you know,
- 47:38look at the levee and see trees.
- 47:41See all the mud in the water.
- 47:43See all the mud.
- 47:44See how brown the water is.
- 47:46See how beautiful Arkansas is in the
- 47:48spring.
- 47:49Absolutely.
- 47:50Pass by all the chemical plants in New
- 47:52Orleans, on the Mississippi,
- 47:54like all the way through Louisiana.
- 47:55I mean, I don't know.
- 47:57I really don't see a downside here, Scott,
- 47:59honestly.
- 48:01Let's just say that is not going to
- 48:03be our transportation to New Orleans in
- 48:05the spring.
- 48:06Twelve thousand dollars.
- 48:11Yes.
- 48:14I'd have to take out a second mortgage.
- 48:16Yeah, absolutely.
- 48:17Absolutely.
- 48:18And try to explain that after talking to
- 48:20your banker.
- 48:21Like,
- 48:22so what would you like the money for?
- 48:25Well, I'm looking at the riverboat cruise.
- 48:31Are you buying the riverboat?
- 48:33No, no, no.
- 48:35Just rent a room.
- 48:38Just rent a room right above the
- 48:39waterline.
- 48:40It's fine.
- 48:41No big deal.
- 48:44That is insane, dude.
- 48:47Like crazy, crazy.
- 48:48Why would anybody want to do that?
- 48:55Maybe look into a canoe rental.
- 49:00My wife going,
- 49:01you wanted to save a couple thousand
- 49:03dollars.
- 49:06The good news is if you get in
- 49:09a canoe and just head down to Mississippi,
- 49:11you ain't got to do a whole lot
- 49:12of paddling.
- 49:13You got the current.
- 49:14You got the current and it is moving.
- 49:18Moving is going to be holding ass.
- 49:22So Julie can paddle the canoe and I
- 49:26can water ski behind?
- 49:28Yeah, more than likely.
- 49:29Cool.
- 49:30All she's going to have to do is
- 49:31steer, be honest with you,
- 49:32and just kind of keep it going in
- 49:34the correct direction.
- 49:36And once you get,
- 49:37I have no idea how it is up
- 49:38there, like the further up north you get,
- 49:40but I know once you get down here,
- 49:42like towards this way,
- 49:44you'll see the Sunshine Bridge.
- 49:45You can actually pull over right there and
- 49:46go get you a hotel room because there's
- 49:48something right there.
- 49:50It's probably not a five-star hotel.
- 49:54I'm just throwing that out there.
- 49:56And there's probably going to be a bunch
- 49:57of construction hands.
- 49:58The state rooms are very nice on the
- 50:00boat.
- 50:01Are they a twelve thousand dollar nice?
- 50:03Nah, not really.
- 50:05Probably not.
- 50:06Dude, for twelve thousand dollars,
- 50:07somebody would be making the bed while I'm
- 50:09still in it.
- 50:11I want to be swaddled at night.
- 50:15Tuck me in.
- 50:18Pat me on the head.
- 50:22Riverboat cruise, dude.
- 50:26Yeah.
- 50:26Ladies and gentlemen,
- 50:27I don't know if any of y'all have
- 50:29ever been anywhere around where I live and
- 50:32have seen,
- 50:33I know Jeffrey Birchfield has and has seen
- 50:35the Mississippi river.
- 50:38It's brown.
- 50:39You see this brown behind me is browner
- 50:41than this.
- 50:42This is wood.
- 50:43That's mud.
- 50:45It doesn't smell great.
- 50:47I'll go ahead and throw that out there
- 50:48as well.
- 50:49Especially as you're passing by the
- 50:51chemical plants that are all along this
- 50:54river.
- 50:56Because they all have them right there
- 50:57because when they ship their product out,
- 50:58it goes right into the ships that end
- 51:01up going across the ocean.
- 51:04This is what blew me away.
- 51:05The end of the trip is you go
- 51:07to Baton Rouge and then it's a whole
- 51:12day cruise from Baton Rouge to New
- 51:15Orleans.
- 51:16No, it's not.
- 51:18That's what they said on the itinerary.
- 51:20Just telling you.
- 51:22Yeah, I'm going to tell you right now,
- 51:23it ain't.
- 51:27You can drive from Baton Rouge to New
- 51:28Orleans in about forty five minutes on the
- 51:31interstate.
- 51:33That's what I take.
- 51:34You could take River Road and it'll
- 51:36probably take an hour and twenty because
- 51:38it's along the river road.
- 51:40You can't see the river.
- 51:41FYI, because there's a levee right there.
- 51:43But it's you'll be passing through a bunch
- 51:44of little town that would not.
- 51:46So I take my Chevy to the levee
- 51:48and drive it in an hour and twenty.
- 51:52Yeah.
- 51:53Way less than than a day.
- 51:56That is wild, dude.
- 51:59Unless they're stopping at every single
- 52:00place that they possibly can and be like,
- 52:03and here's another plantation.
- 52:05And here's another plantation.
- 52:06And here's another plantation.
- 52:07Well, that's the thing.
- 52:08I do want to go to Memphis and
- 52:09I do want to go to New Orleans
- 52:11and they want to stop at all these
- 52:12plantations on the way down.
- 52:14I haven't even heard of half of these
- 52:15towns.
- 52:18And twelve thousand dollars to look at
- 52:20another plantation?
- 52:21It's...
- 52:24Yep, that's an antebellum home.
- 52:27All right.
- 52:28Cool.
- 52:30Oh, look, there's another one.
- 52:31All right.
- 52:33Cool.
- 52:33That's bra.
- 52:34No.
- 52:35You can live like a king for a
- 52:37month in Vegas for that amount.
- 52:38All the buffets, too.
- 52:41Dude,
- 52:42you can fly to New Orleans and stay
- 52:45in one of the nicest hotels.
- 52:47Like,
- 52:47you can stay at the Monteleone or
- 52:48something like that.
- 52:51Where they do not bring ducks in.
- 52:53That's a day.
- 53:07anyway so i so i don't i didn't
- 53:08know this but delta has like vacation
- 53:11packages now like the airline delta and
- 53:14it's like and they have ones for new
- 53:16orleans which were not twelve thousand
- 53:19dollars that is your airfare to new
- 53:23orleans that a hotel and a couple
- 53:27sightseeing tours if you'd like them yeah
- 53:30i mean there's not a whole lot of
- 53:33My wife is into the haunted ghost shit,
- 53:35dude.
- 53:35There's tons of them there.
- 53:37There's plenty of them.
- 53:38You don't need Delta to find them.
- 53:39All you got to do is go down
- 53:40to the French Quarter.
- 53:43Just throw them.
- 53:47All right, guys.
- 53:48Hey, let me address this real quick.
- 53:50Fergie says we're going to ball field in
- 53:53New Orleans after Katrina.
- 53:55The homes all had high water marks and
- 53:56we had various stages of collapse.
- 53:58Were you there last week?
- 54:03That's what I heard, dude.
- 54:05Just because depending on where you go,
- 54:08there's still high watermarks.
- 54:10And it's been a while since Katrina
- 54:13happened.
- 54:14Just saying.
- 54:17Oh, Joey's got bougie money.
- 54:19Talk about he always stayed in the Garden
- 54:20District when you go to know.
- 54:22I know Joey had it like that.
- 54:25There you can spend twelve thousand
- 54:27dollars if you want to stay in the
- 54:28Garden District.
- 54:31In Anne Rice's house or something along
- 54:33those lines.
- 54:34Stay next to her.
- 54:35Where she reads Interviewed with a Vampire
- 54:37to you while you go to sleep.
- 54:39Yes, absolutely.
- 54:41I think she's dead.
- 54:42I'm sorry.
- 54:43I probably shouldn't just throw that out
- 54:44there.
- 54:46You should probably stay at Emeril
- 54:47Lagasse's house for twelve thousand
- 54:49dollars.
- 54:50Don't forget to get your Thirdsy.
- 54:52Fifteen percent off.
