- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is the Team Up Play Show podcast.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Welcome to the City of Bones.
- 0:45Speaker 2: The hidden powers of this world have been unleashed. Three
- 0:52Speaker 2: avatars of the unknown Wonders stand on the rooftop of
- 0:58Speaker 2: an abandoned warehouse in the station, trying to see each
- 1:03Speaker 2: other through a misty, nagging rain. The fog that obscures
- 1:09Speaker 2: the view of each other seeps also into your minds
- 1:14Speaker 2: as you try to think through the unnatural that you've encountered.
- 1:18Speaker 3: You guys have powers.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Quanta like pulls her ball of clava down, making sure
- 1:29Speaker 1: it's on her face.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't think there were any of us, and
- 1:38Speaker 4: you're You're not Day No, not me?
- 1:46Speaker 3: Is that okay?
- 1:48Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, of course no. I I just
- 1:55Speaker 1: I don't know. I guess I assumed it was like
- 1:57Speaker 1: a weird day thing about me.
- 2:03Speaker 4: I mean, it might be. There's no telling if we
- 2:07Speaker 4: all got these gifts from the same sources. Yeah, it
- 2:18Speaker 4: says seems strange. A generation no powers and then you
- 2:25Speaker 4: two and the others in the warehouse all in one night.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Suspicious.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Well you too, right here, including yourself, us three.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Five altogether that we know of Yeah, how hard is
- 2:46Speaker 3: it raining at this point?
- 2:48Speaker 5: Not that hard.
- 2:48Speaker 3: It's a little missed. Okay, n get my papers getting
- 2:52Speaker 3: kind of soggy, just a little bit, Johnny.
- 2:55Speaker 4: With my knowledge of heroes and EVO stories, can I
- 3:00Speaker 4: try to recall if these two people's power sets line
- 3:07Speaker 4: up with anyone from history that I would know about. Yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 4: make a knowledge check. This is going to be simple
- 3:16Speaker 4: for you. Okay, I got a nine.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Nice, I rolled a three. You think back going through
- 3:27Speaker 2: your rolodex of heroes of the past, and there were
- 3:31Speaker 2: heroes that controlled weather, certainly, and maybe not so much heroes,
- 3:36Speaker 2: but people that helped the world heal from the Great
- 3:41Speaker 2: Depression and the kind of using up all the resources.
- 3:46Speaker 2: So that rings a familiar bell, maybe to Quanta. You
- 3:51Speaker 2: never heard of anybody who controlled paper?
- 3:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that would definitely stick out to me. Yeah, what
- 4:00Speaker 4: should I call you guys again? I'm the paper Phantom
- 4:06Speaker 4: and you.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Rijels to meet you both, and I would like to
- 4:22Speaker 1: do a scan to see their feelings.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Sure, six, it's a very close fail. I rolled a
- 4:30Speaker 2: six also through the mist. It's hard to tell how
- 4:34Speaker 2: these two are feeling. Their powers shroud some of your ability, So.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Is your friend. Okay, Oh yeah, I like a gesture
- 4:47Speaker 4: to the large day man I had laid down.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I go to like pat his head and then like
- 4:52Speaker 1: realize that that is not something I would do if
- 4:54Speaker 1: he was awake, and just kind of moved my handback.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I think he'll be okay. Thank you for helping me.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I actually might need your help to move him somewhere else.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean I can do that now.
- 5:14Speaker 3: What's wrong with him? Is he sick?
- 5:17Speaker 1: No, he's like hungry. Maybe I don't actually is he
- 5:24Speaker 1: like you? Maybe I'm honestly still learning about him. And
- 5:28Speaker 1: I'm usually really good at reading people and knowing if
- 5:33Speaker 1: I can well, maybe I'm not so good at knowing
- 5:38Speaker 1: who I can trust. But for some reason, I feel
- 5:44Speaker 1: like I can trust you too. I mean, we seem
- 5:48Speaker 1: to be after the same people in there.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah, we know. They mentioned something about a shelter up
- 5:56Speaker 3: to the north.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Yeah, sounds like they're catching people when they're desperate.
- 6:02Speaker 4: And you're that woman from the news.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Uh no, i'd pull my tuck at my ballaklava again,
- 6:16Speaker 1: but you said that.
- 6:18Speaker 4: I mean it. I don't have to do this if
- 6:23Speaker 4: you don't want to, But it's okay. I'm not gonna
- 6:26Speaker 4: tell anybody.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Is he gonna tell anybody?
- 6:30Speaker 2: But I think based on your check of trying to
- 6:32Speaker 2: read him before, you don't get that sense.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that was me, and those men in there
- 6:40Speaker 1: think I'm dead and they still should actually after tonight,
- 6:45Speaker 1: even though they saw me.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Would Jason have seen this in the news? Does he
- 6:51Speaker 3: know what they're talking about? Well? Rolla, rolla ready, check
- 6:55Speaker 3: ready for reading the newspaper? Ready ready or knowledge? Take
- 7:01Speaker 3: knowledge too? I got a seven.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, you saw Ronnie in the news as well, murderer
- 7:07Speaker 2: and heretic.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I just give a little nod. That's what they're saying.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Well, I suppose that means we're gonna be working outside
- 7:16Speaker 3: of the confines.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Of the law. Well, not all the laws, I mean, yeah, probably.
- 7:23Speaker 4: I mean I don't think we're allowed to exactly do
- 7:27Speaker 4: what we did back there. But also if what was
- 7:31Speaker 4: going on down there was legal, then this city's more
- 7:35Speaker 4: fucked up than I thought it.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It really is, and I'm I mean, I've only scratched
- 7:41Speaker 1: the surface, but I'm I'm trying to figure out just
- 7:44Speaker 1: how fucked up it is and fix what I can.
- 7:50Speaker 3: The blame may fall on us, think about it. The
- 7:54Speaker 3: rhino only speaks in poems and riddles. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 3: all those people that were hurt, they might be killed.
- 8:04Speaker 3: You kind of killed the one that could have talked,
- 8:07Speaker 3: which maybe is good and bad. I don't know.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I'm I don't know either.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Where do we think they came from?
- 8:15Speaker 4: Who was that guy they were working with?
- 8:17Speaker 1: That's that's Gabrielle. I don't know too much about him.
- 8:25Speaker 1: That he was part of this council or the Church
- 8:29Speaker 1: of the New Babbel day and along with a lot
- 8:32Speaker 1: of the other men in that room who were not
- 8:37Speaker 1: you know, religious folks, well one of them seemed to be,
- 8:41Speaker 1: but not not for the CNBD.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I recognized a few of the people there from the
- 8:48Speaker 3: Irish mob. Seems like they might be working together some
- 8:54Speaker 3: sort of conspiracy.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, there's okay, my friend here, my friend. They
- 9:03Speaker 1: were using him as their own personal assassin. What yeah, Like,
- 9:12Speaker 1: did they have dared on him or something? No, they
- 9:16Speaker 1: had like a device that controlled him. And I still
- 9:22Speaker 1: don't really understand it all, even though I could, you know,
- 9:24Speaker 1: see the device and read it, and it all just
- 9:28Speaker 1: happened so fast. I am I released him and destroyed
- 9:33Speaker 1: the device. Good, But I think he might have. Well,
- 9:39Speaker 1: I know, I'm pretty sure he committed one of the
- 9:42Speaker 1: murders that the CNBT says that I did.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Many chances we can wake him up and I kick
- 9:50Speaker 3: him a little bit.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you're both humans, So if you wanted to put
- 10:02Speaker 1: some of your blood right there, sorry, we can. Yeah,
- 10:09Speaker 1: if you, I like, point to the port on his back.
- 10:18Speaker 1: As far as I know, human blood goes in there.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Now, Now, Johnny, this isn't a normal day thing, right, correct?
- 10:27Speaker 3: Okay?
- 10:29Speaker 4: I looked to the paper, Fano, and I say, uh,
- 10:35Speaker 4: do you want to.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I'll be honest, I don't know if I trust you
- 10:40Speaker 3: to give you my blood?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah. No, Yeah, that's a weird thing.
- 10:47Speaker 4: It's a weird request.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It's a weird night, and I I honestly, I honestly
- 10:55Speaker 1: don't know if if we should wake him up here
- 10:58Speaker 1: and now?
- 11:00Speaker 4: Okay, well, do you need somewhere where he can lay
- 11:03Speaker 4: low for a little bit? I know a place?
- 11:10Speaker 1: Okay, can I can I go? Can I see it too?
- 11:16Speaker 4: Yeah, but maybe a little more quietly.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you might have to carry me.
- 11:27Speaker 3: How much rain is coming down now?
- 11:29Speaker 2: Still just missing, but you are getting pretty pulpy.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, you can see like pieces of a phantom's cloak,
- 11:37Speaker 3: like starting to shred off and sluff as he's like
- 11:41Speaker 3: trying to cover his head from the rain. Wherever we go?
- 11:45Speaker 3: Could we go soon? That would be great?
- 11:50Speaker 4: Well? How about how about this, Johnny? Could you remind me,
- 11:55Speaker 4: like how geographically where is I don't know what to
- 12:00Speaker 4: call it? Where's my new pad? In relation to the
- 12:05Speaker 4: station you've been calling it the Manor?
- 12:08Speaker 3: Yes, I have the manor Is.
- 12:14Speaker 2: It'll be southeast. The station is downtown and the Manor
- 12:19Speaker 2: is in Sas. Okay, I got a place in Sas.
- 12:25Speaker 4: We can meet. I look hard at these two, but
- 12:31Speaker 4: I need to know I can trust you guys. I mean,
- 12:34Speaker 4: we just fought together, but I don't know. I also
- 12:39Speaker 4: just met you. But I it would be really nice
- 12:45Speaker 4: if you guys weren't bad people.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I mean, you already know who I am, and I'm
- 12:56Speaker 1: telling you I didn't do it. I mean, I can
- 12:59Speaker 1: I can show you that I didn't do it if
- 13:03Speaker 1: you'll let me.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Bad is a relative term.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yais dude nice? If you punish the wicked, does that
- 13:12Speaker 4: make you bad? Depends on the punishment. It depends on
- 13:16Speaker 4: the degree of wickedness.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess I'm still I don't really thought that
- 13:21Speaker 1: went through it, to be honest.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Okay, Incess, there's a burger joint. I'm gonna give you
- 13:33Speaker 4: the address to it. Meet me there, and I don't know,
- 13:38Speaker 4: as soon as you can in one hour in plain clothes,
- 13:43Speaker 4: and I'll take you to a place we.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Can hang out.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Okay, deal, Okay, meet me at the Grimace King on
- 13:56Speaker 4: forty fifth in Southern I look at Quanta and I say,
- 14:04Speaker 4: if you trust me, let me take your friend. I
- 14:10Speaker 4: have a room with a bed. I'll let him rest
- 14:14Speaker 4: there and I will meet you at that Grandma's King.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I think Quanta is frustrated that she can't see if
- 14:26Speaker 1: this is the truth or not. But he did stop
- 14:31Speaker 1: the rhina tar from harming her, and she's gotta trust somebody. Okay,
- 14:39Speaker 1: thank you. Okay, don't don't put your blood.
- 14:43Speaker 4: In him, got it. I look at paper Fan I'm
- 14:46Speaker 4: and say, you'll be there.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I've got nothing else going on.
- 14:49Speaker 6: I'll be honest, God, Okay.
- 15:01Speaker 4: I summon another flying star. I bend down and pick
- 15:07Speaker 4: up this large day man and a fireman carry I
- 15:13Speaker 4: kind of gingerly step on the star, trying to keep
- 15:17Speaker 4: my balance and I'm saying I'll see.
- 15:23Speaker 7: You soon, see you soon, and I fly away, so
- 15:34Speaker 7: you can.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Head right there.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Probably to be honest.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Cool cool, cool cool cool.
- 15:46Speaker 3: How's my paper looking? It's slough enough? Yeah. Do you
- 15:53Speaker 3: want me to make some kind of check to like
- 15:55Speaker 3: try and hold it together?
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yeah, well, let's do a guts check balls plus your paper, Nancy.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I'm just standing so still just looking at the paper.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Phantom an eighth.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I rolled a seven close, So yeah, you're keeping it together.
- 16:17Speaker 2: You you start to feel the pulp run down, and
- 16:22Speaker 2: you're like, oh, this is also just paper, really, so
- 16:26Speaker 2: you can kind of make a mushy, gooey version of yourself.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Nice all right, Yeah, yeah, mache man, I just start
- 16:35Speaker 2: looking kind of like swollen and lumpy noise.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Cool.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Well, I'm gonna I guess I'll see there like pieces
- 16:45Speaker 3: of paper flop off as I like gesture gotta go
- 16:49Speaker 3: and do awkwardly walk to the edge of the roof
- 16:53Speaker 3: and like drop off your a satisfying.
- 16:56Speaker 1: PLoP contil it's out a sigh. Oh Gabe, did you
- 17:04Speaker 1: hear all that?
- 17:06Speaker 8: Uh?
- 17:06Speaker 3: Yeah, what is going on?
- 17:09Speaker 1: There's there's more like me out here.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Okay, that's good, right.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I think so it was. It was good tonight. I'm
- 17:21Speaker 1: alive because of that, because of them.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, good.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Till Can you can you contact Julian and tell her
- 17:30Speaker 1: I'm going to be home later than I thought?
- 17:33Speaker 2: Sure, well, they said show up in normal clothes. Are
- 17:37Speaker 2: you gonna come back here?
- 17:39Speaker 1: I probably should, shouldn't I I mean I can just yeah, yeah, no,
- 17:43Speaker 1: I broke my sunglasses. Yeah, okay, I'm coming back.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Cool. He's in you strike off the rooftop paper, phantom?
- 17:54Speaker 3: Are you going home to get clothes? I've got clothes
- 17:57Speaker 3: on underneath what's now just a big wet waw of
- 18:00Speaker 3: paper that a'll as soon as I'm out of eyesight,
- 18:03Speaker 3: just kind of like floop off. I guess yeah, if
- 18:09Speaker 3: I have time to detour back to get paper, but
- 18:13Speaker 3: otherwise I'll just start skateboarding over there.
- 18:17Speaker 2: The three of you split off with plans to meet
- 18:22Speaker 2: again at a Grimace King, the famous burger joint.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It's so good, m Jillian and I's favorite way better.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Than burger dukes.
- 18:36Speaker 2: When we are thrust out of our comfort zone by
- 18:41Speaker 2: the circumstance of life, we look for anything to cling
- 18:45Speaker 2: on to, anything to trust in the three of you
- 18:52Speaker 2: travel over the night sky or on the ground if
- 18:55Speaker 2: you're grounded, and hope deeply that the two people you
- 19:01Speaker 2: just met will be allies in this time of doubt.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Close to the Pendragon Library, four large boys of her
- 19:18Speaker 2: over a young girl named Olivia. Olivia says, no, I
- 19:28Speaker 2: promise that place is haunted. I saw a ghost. You
- 19:32Speaker 2: gotta believe me. One of the boys says, you better
- 19:38Speaker 2: not be lying, you little bitch.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Rude, crude.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Yeah, the would be bully says, bitch, like you heard
- 19:46Speaker 2: it in a movie. If you're shitting us, we're gonna
- 19:50Speaker 2: beat the little girl snot out of you. Live, Olivia,
- 19:56Speaker 2: trying desperately to gain the respect of this group of boys.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You can do better live.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Who knows why? A desire to belong Maybe for protection.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Maybe her father and mother haven't given her the time
- 20:12Speaker 2: of day. Maybe she has no brothers. Who knows, But
- 20:17Speaker 2: whatever the reason, she says, no, I promise I know
- 20:23Speaker 2: a secret way.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Come on.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Injameer's manner, there is a secret phone in the pantry.
- 20:42Speaker 2: A young, freckled, auburn hair girl named Maria is hanging
- 20:49Speaker 2: it up and tears rain down on her spotted cheeks.
- 20:57Speaker 2: She's gotten some bad news. She pours herself some nice
- 21:04Speaker 2: whiskey that Jamir's grandma would keep on hand, and then
- 21:09Speaker 2: goes to slump in the den, thinking that the house's
- 21:12Speaker 2: master won't come home tonight. She says, that's not fair.
- 21:25Speaker 2: What could I have done differently? And puts her head
- 21:27Speaker 2: in her hand and cries. In a hidden laboratory on
- 21:41Speaker 2: the northernmost point of town, where city abruptly becomes desert, Quanta,
- 21:51Speaker 2: your father is tied to a chair and struck in
- 21:56Speaker 2: the freshly bruised face. He spits blood, nearly passing out,
- 22:05Speaker 2: and says, you know if you keep hitting me, I
- 22:12Speaker 2: won't be able to see the work you're asking.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Me to do.
- 22:17Speaker 2: The bearer of the hand retorts, well, you weren't doing
- 22:22Speaker 2: it anyway. I'll give you another chance to when you
- 22:26Speaker 2: healed up. Next to your father's chair is a bucket
- 22:31Speaker 2: for waist.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Too.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Close to that is a plate with an old sandwich
- 22:36Speaker 2: on it. And in the lab there is a table
- 22:42Speaker 2: with a day woman strapped on it. Her limbs are
- 22:46Speaker 2: pulled off and strapped down. Her complex inner tubing is exposed,
- 22:51Speaker 2: and a broken device that one might wear on their
- 22:55Speaker 2: shoulders is sitting next to her on the table attacked
- 23:00Speaker 2: to a day spine paper phantom. You glide towards the library,
- 23:09Speaker 2: or squish towards the library, getting hoping to get some
- 23:16Speaker 2: of your paper reserves, just in case you have to
- 23:19Speaker 2: get in another fight tonight. And you hear voices on
- 23:24Speaker 2: the rooftop.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I'll uh, I'll try and ride the gutter of the
- 23:32Speaker 3: library and see there's any paper in there, and see
- 23:34Speaker 3: if I can schleff my way up. You get up.
- 23:38Speaker 2: You hear one of the boys say, well, it looks
- 23:42Speaker 2: like you've lied. We're going to have to beat this
- 23:45Speaker 2: shit out of you now. Somebody's got to keep their promises.
- 23:51Speaker 2: You see four boys surrounding a small girl and they
- 23:55Speaker 2: start to raise their fists.
- 23:57Speaker 3: I'll immediately I see and everything goes white. I'm gonna
- 24:04Speaker 3: make myself as big as possible, a giant paper gollumn
- 24:08Speaker 3: of wads and dripping gooey paper.
- 24:12Speaker 2: This lump of moving paper sluglike slashes across the roof.
- 24:19Speaker 3: What do you do? What do you say?
- 24:26Speaker 1: Like?
- 24:26Speaker 3: Spit like spit watts at them?
- 24:30Speaker 2: All right, let's make a cox check to scare the
- 24:33Speaker 2: shit out of them with your paper stuff paper Nancy eleven,
- 24:41Speaker 2: Oh eleven, I wrote a four. So you beat me
- 24:44Speaker 2: by six or something eight and seven? You beat me
- 24:46Speaker 2: by seven and even seven. The boys panic, the paper
- 24:53Speaker 2: wads hitting them in the face. They stand there as
- 24:56Speaker 2: you scream, their hair being blown back, wads of paper
- 25:01Speaker 2: and spit hit in rain, hitting them in the face.
- 25:05Speaker 2: They just stand and look at you, scream, horrified, wide eyed,
- 25:10Speaker 2: and then you stop your roar. There's a moment. What
- 25:16Speaker 2: do you say, learn to be better? They all panic,
- 25:21Speaker 2: turn around, run down the ladder, except for the little girl.
- 25:30Speaker 3: She looks up at you. I knew you were real. Umm,
- 25:40Speaker 3: I knew you were real too. Really mm hmmm, good
- 25:48Speaker 3: gog like my arms are like all swollen, like big,
- 25:52Speaker 3: like almost like a clay faced monstrosity. And just like
- 25:54Speaker 3: pat her on the head to stay in school. Leave
- 26:00Speaker 3: a bunch of wet paper in her hair.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Okay, nice, nice paper ghost, thank you?
- 26:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, don't mention it.
- 26:12Speaker 4: And she.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Turns and heads down the ladder.
- 26:20Speaker 3: As soon as she's gone, I'll unclench and all the
- 26:23Speaker 3: paper will just like flop off of me. Moving it
- 26:26Speaker 3: with all the water is really hard. I think I
- 26:32Speaker 3: swallowed some.
- 26:36Speaker 2: You get some paper in a duffel bag that would
- 26:39Speaker 2: stay dry from the rain, and you head out in
- 26:42Speaker 2: your cities. Jamiir, you get to your place in Sass
- 26:50Speaker 2: with a giant day Man on your shoulders.
- 26:54Speaker 4: I think my plan for that would be, first off,
- 26:58Speaker 4: I want to just fly high. Yeah, I want to
- 27:02Speaker 4: just go up and if I can even go higher
- 27:05Speaker 4: than the then the rain clouds. Just to just to
- 27:11Speaker 4: do it. While I'm holding this big lug, I imagine
- 27:16Speaker 4: I kind of pull up all my hunchdowns and pull
- 27:21Speaker 4: up on my star, maybe to point it upward and
- 27:25Speaker 4: kind of mentally urge it to go forward as I'm
- 27:30Speaker 4: pulling up on the front, just to just to see
- 27:33Speaker 4: how high I can take this bad bully.
- 27:36Speaker 2: You go higher and higher and higher, and then when
- 27:42Speaker 2: you crest and come over the highest skyscraper in the
- 27:50Speaker 2: city just probably the highest thing is maybe the space BArch.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Maybe there's one or two buildings that are higher.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, your flights star disappears what you start to fall.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Jimmy here is just clinging to this day man as
- 28:17Speaker 4: we are picking speed, and I shut my eyes and
- 28:23Speaker 4: I just try to make another flight star death.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead and make a guts check plus your
- 28:32Speaker 2: flight star.
- 28:34Speaker 4: I'm bad at guts, but I do have a flight star.
- 28:40Speaker 4: That's a total of a three.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Jamiir Is you're falling, you come past second highest rung
- 28:48Speaker 2: of buildings, falling, grabbing Dirk.
- 28:51Speaker 3: You have one more check and then you're gonna hit
- 28:53Speaker 3: the ground.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna send it to make the
- 28:59Speaker 4: flights maybe, okay, a little better. Six.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I rolled to that time. Your flight star comes into existence.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Just as you're gonna scrape the ground, Dirk's let feet
- 29:14Speaker 2: like scrape the sidewalk and like make sparks as you
- 29:20Speaker 2: guys just pull up.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Oh my god, Oh my gosh. Yeah, I like fully
- 29:29Speaker 4: like land like get off the flight star for a beat.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I'm just holding this day, man. I catch my breath, okay, okay,
- 29:38Speaker 4: not not too high? What the I shake it out?
- 29:52Speaker 4: Look around? Do I get a sense of where I
- 29:55Speaker 4: am in the city where I kind of.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Yeah, you're kind of halfway in between uh where you
- 30:01Speaker 2: mean to go and downtown. So you're you're in Sass,
- 30:05Speaker 2: uh in the northern part of sass.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Okay, I keep I can always dirk over my right shoulder,
- 30:18Speaker 4: and I kind of I kind of want to crouch
- 30:21Speaker 4: on my flight star so that my cape can kind
- 30:25Speaker 4: of obscure it as it as it dangles or as
- 30:29Speaker 4: it drapes around the flight star. And I wanna I
- 30:33Speaker 4: want to slightly at incognitoway fly and land maybe a
- 30:38Speaker 4: couple of blocks away from the man. Sure you're going
- 30:42Speaker 4: in the front door. No, no, I'll yeah, I'll land
- 30:45Speaker 4: a couple of blocks away. And then I imagine I'm
- 30:49Speaker 4: trying to like cut through alleys, maybe even cut through
- 30:52Speaker 4: a backyard and kind of try to approach the manner
- 30:55Speaker 4: from behind, like a sneak check. I will do my
- 31:00Speaker 4: my sleep. My sneak is a little better than my guts.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Seven.
- 31:05Speaker 2: You're not sure if I notice you or not, but
- 31:08Speaker 2: you sneak in back alleyways trying to get this large
- 31:13Speaker 2: man who is light for you into the manner without
- 31:17Speaker 2: being seen. You open your back door and surprisingly see
- 31:22Speaker 2: Maria sitting in a chair. Hey, she looks up.
- 31:29Speaker 3: At you, eyes go wide.
- 31:34Speaker 2: No, No, I'm she looks a little whiskey. Her eyes are red.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I'm so sorry, Maria, Maria.
- 31:44Speaker 4: I pull off the do rac cover my nose and eyes,
- 31:48Speaker 4: and I pulled with I'm holding this giant day man
- 31:51Speaker 4: with my right arm. With my left, I pulled my
- 31:54Speaker 4: dog up and then I pull my bandana down to
- 31:58Speaker 4: reveal my face and say it's a Sjumiir, we got company.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Jay, I'm I'm so sorry. She points to the whiskey
- 32:11Speaker 2: she's drinking. I had, I had, I had a bad
- 32:16Speaker 2: You're off the clock. It's nice. I don't give him,
- 32:20Speaker 2: but this belongs to your grandma. It's whiskey. We can
- 32:24Speaker 2: buy more. It's okay, Okay. She's incredibly apologetic as you
- 32:30Speaker 2: drag in this wet day man.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Okay, let's do you know the room on the second
- 32:39Speaker 4: floor with the biggest bed. Yeah, of course. Uh yeah,
- 32:44Speaker 4: you guys head up there.
- 32:46Speaker 2: She's trying to like help you kind of lift his
- 32:48Speaker 2: feet up the stairs.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:50Speaker 4: I don't know who this guy is, but you never
- 32:54Speaker 4: saw him. Okay, okay, okay, how much did I drink? No,
- 33:02Speaker 4: this is not alcohol. This is this is what I've
- 33:06Speaker 4: been working on upstairs.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:11Speaker 4: The less you know right now, I assume the better.
- 33:17Speaker 4: There's gonna be a couple of people coming over tonight.
- 33:20Speaker 4: I don't think they're gonna be staying. I don't think
- 33:23Speaker 4: I'm gonna be staying, but if you could put on
- 33:28Speaker 4: maybe some some coffee and maybe put out the guacan chips.
- 33:33Speaker 4: I don't know. Okay, sure I'm gonna I'm gonna get
- 33:37Speaker 4: changed and this is this, this stays in house.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, I don't know what I would say.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Yeah, don't. I don't know if you talk to any
- 33:49Speaker 4: many people about this job. But don't don't talk about today.
- 33:53Speaker 4: You got it, seriously though, seriously? Yeah, no, I got you.
- 33:58Speaker 4: I won't okay, I believe you, And I mean after
- 34:04Speaker 4: you put the coffee on, take the night off. Oh
- 34:08Speaker 4: I don't, right, Yeah, you can just chill out. You
- 34:12Speaker 4: don't need to meet these folks. I think I can
- 34:15Speaker 4: trust them, but you don't really know.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:22Speaker 2: You sometimes you meet someone new and they surprise you wildly.
- 34:28Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't have to talk about this, okay, I
- 34:34Speaker 4: I yeah. I kind of quietly, even though I know
- 34:36Speaker 4: he's not sleeping, I kind of quietly closed the door
- 34:40Speaker 4: that the day man's in. I bound up the stairs
- 34:45Speaker 4: toward the study. There, I left the clothes that I
- 34:49Speaker 4: had come in on, and I see the open window
- 34:52Speaker 4: that I had climbed out of. Yeah, and I take
- 34:55Speaker 4: off my wet costume. In loose terms, I kind of
- 35:00Speaker 4: hang it over the chair at the desk, and I
- 35:04Speaker 4: put on my civilian clothes, my street clothes, and I
- 35:11Speaker 4: throw on a hoodie, pull the hood up. I see
- 35:15Speaker 4: Maria in the kitchen. I assume as I'm headed out. Okay,
- 35:19Speaker 4: I'm gonna go pick up these people. I don't know
- 35:22Speaker 4: how long that guy is gonna be staying with us.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Could be a while, could be just a few hours.
- 35:29Speaker 4: If if if you hear anything loud going on, run run, yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 4: or high What kind of loud thing could happen if
- 35:43Speaker 4: you hear like banging or explosions or people screaming, Either
- 35:50Speaker 4: hide or run at your discretion, trust your instincts. I
- 35:55Speaker 4: don't think this is gonna go left, but I'm learning
- 36:01Speaker 4: stuff upstairs, and there's a lot of crazy shit going
- 36:07Speaker 4: on in this city.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Jay, I'll do what you need tonight, but I do
- 36:12Speaker 2: want to talk about tonight at some point, of course.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Okay, you no, no, no, you, Hey, I owe you
- 36:22Speaker 4: an explanation. Okay, good. I just want you to be safe,
- 36:27Speaker 4: is what I'm trying to do. You do you want
- 36:29Speaker 4: to stay with a friend. I can, I can go
- 36:32Speaker 4: stay with a friend. Yeah, yeah, I probably won't be
- 36:35Speaker 4: back for like forty five minutes, so take your time. Yeah,
- 36:42Speaker 4: I'll see you tomorrow probably, Okay, okay.
- 36:45Speaker 3: I'll see you then.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Thank you, Maria. Of course. I grab a chip, scoop
- 36:51Speaker 4: it in the glock, throw it back, enjoy the crunch
- 36:59Speaker 4: in the creaminess in my mouth, as this is a
- 37:02Speaker 4: luxury that before Jamir had a little a spending budget
- 37:08Speaker 4: that we have at the manor, a delicacy like this
- 37:11Speaker 4: would be rarely enjoyed, and Jamir still can appreciate a
- 37:15Speaker 4: good guock. And then I try to slink in unnoticed
- 37:20Speaker 4: ways to the grimace King.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Quanta.
- 37:29Speaker 2: As you start to head back to your place in Kno,
- 37:36Speaker 2: the falling rain and the buzz in the air that
- 37:42Speaker 2: it brings connect you to the world around you in
- 37:47Speaker 2: a deeper way. All the feeling gives you a pattern
- 37:53Speaker 2: of what's around you, and you lock onto a familiar
- 37:58Speaker 2: system of electrical signaling. The signaling looks up quickly, briefly
- 38:05Speaker 2: at the freak lightning that's so close to the ground,
- 38:10Speaker 2: and then goes on with his business. It's camp the
- 38:17Speaker 2: man with money tattoos. He's speaking with a man in
- 38:20Speaker 2: a back alleyway.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I stop wherever I struck last and get as close
- 38:27Speaker 1: as I can without using my lightning whip. Am I
- 38:31Speaker 1: like on top of a building? Mm hmm? Okay, how
- 38:35Speaker 1: far did I make it from him?
- 38:37Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 38:37Speaker 2: You can kind of crawl down the fire escapes here.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I want to get closer.
- 38:42Speaker 2: You start to hear their conversation. Camp doesn't like that
- 38:48Speaker 2: you don't have money tonight. Camp says, tonight was the
- 38:54Speaker 2: night you're supposed to have it, and if Camp doesn't
- 38:57Speaker 2: show up with your money, then he's going to get
- 39:01Speaker 2: in trouble. Listen, I'll do you this solid because you're
- 39:07Speaker 2: usually on time. I have a stop far up north
- 39:11Speaker 2: before I'm done tonight. Then I'll come back here and
- 39:16Speaker 2: you better have it. It's gonna take me, I don't
- 39:20Speaker 2: know thirty minutes. He walks towards the street. He looks
- 39:25Speaker 2: to the five men on hover bikes waiting for him
- 39:30Speaker 2: on the street, and he says, Camp needs to go
- 39:34Speaker 2: up north to the hospital. Three of you stay here,
- 39:38Speaker 2: make sure this one gets working on what he owes.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Two of you come with Camp. Camp gets in a
- 39:45Speaker 2: large hover van that has pad locked doors in the
- 39:48Speaker 2: back and starts driving north.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Can I see who he was speaking to.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Yes, entering back into a doorway that light and the
- 40:00Speaker 2: sounds of merrymaking are pouring out of is a small
- 40:05Speaker 2: Asian man.
- 40:07Speaker 1: What's what's the building that he's in?
- 40:10Speaker 2: So it's a residence high rise okay, and it seems
- 40:15Speaker 2: like in a kind of a half basement level area.
- 40:20Speaker 2: There's some sort of gathering going on.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I want to read that man, sure, see what he's feeling.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Seven that's a success. As you read him as he
- 40:30Speaker 2: walks back in, there's a lot of fear and terror
- 40:36Speaker 2: as he ponders how he's going to get this money
- 40:39Speaker 2: in the next thirty minutes.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Quanta having stumbled upon this happening and
- 40:51Speaker 1: seeing one of the men she wants to know more
- 40:54Speaker 1: about in takedown shaking down some one for payment, and
- 41:03Speaker 1: knowing she has to meet these other two that she
- 41:06Speaker 1: just met soon is I think she's kind of like
- 41:10Speaker 1: shocked to like indecision for a moment and a little
- 41:14Speaker 1: bit like panicked feeling the where the bullets hit her
- 41:19Speaker 1: earlier in the night, and like quickly goes through like
- 41:25Speaker 1: scenario after scenario, Like I could try to go out
- 41:29Speaker 1: down there and like beat up the guards. But then
- 41:31Speaker 1: Camp's coming back and he's gonna want money from this man,
- 41:35Speaker 1: but I don't know what for, and I don't know
- 41:37Speaker 1: who this man is, and this man could end up
- 41:41Speaker 1: getting hurt, and just like because of like what she
- 41:46Speaker 1: did before with the church. She's just like all these
- 41:51Speaker 1: like dominoes fall because of actions that she takes. And
- 42:02Speaker 1: it's too scared to do anything, all right, And it moves
- 42:05Speaker 1: on you head, Yeah, get some clothes. Yeah, Gabe and
- 42:16Speaker 1: Jillian are there. I hey, Jillian runs up to you,
- 42:21Speaker 1: kind of grabs you, takes off your bottle clava.
- 42:25Speaker 3: No, how are you okay?
- 42:29Speaker 1: No?
- 42:30Speaker 3: What what's wrong?
- 42:32Speaker 1: This is all it's all too big, It's all too big.
- 42:34Speaker 1: I just, oh my god, I just left somebody I
- 42:37Speaker 1: could have helped.
- 42:39Speaker 3: What do you mean.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I just I saw I saw that, I saw Camp.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I saw Camp, and I I just I left. I left.
- 42:45Speaker 1: He was threatening somebody. I don't know. I don't think
- 42:51Speaker 1: I could do this. I don't I don't think I
- 42:53Speaker 1: could do it.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Jillian put a hand on your shoulder. Hey, Gabe was
- 43:02Speaker 2: telling me you saved so many people tonight. Yeah, you
- 43:08Speaker 2: did had help. Well good, I'm glad. But if you
- 43:13Speaker 2: weren't there. Who knows how many would have died.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Maybe I was supposed to help that guy too, and
- 43:20Speaker 1: it just like happened. It was just like like I
- 43:23Speaker 1: just like I just was passing by and I and
- 43:26Speaker 1: I noticed him. I noticed his his his his energy,
- 43:29Speaker 1: and maybe I was supposed to notice and maybe I
- 43:33Speaker 1: was supposed to help him.
- 43:35Speaker 2: You can only do as much as you can do, Ronnie, I.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Think that I don't know. I don't know. I have
- 43:44Speaker 1: to I have to change. I have to go back.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Out and go back out tonight.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna supposed to meet those two that
- 43:54Speaker 1: helped me.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Okay, we'll be safe.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Can I borrow your car?
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, thank you? And hey, turn off? Can
- 44:05Speaker 2: you have you worked on turning off your your power
- 44:09Speaker 2: at all? Maybe turn off your power on the way
- 44:12Speaker 2: there and back tonight. It's late already.
- 44:20Speaker 1: I don't know, But what if what if somebody needs help?
- 44:22Speaker 1: What if I pass by and then somebody's like getting
- 44:25Speaker 1: mugged in an alleyway. I mean, that guy could be
- 44:27Speaker 1: getting killed right now and I just I just left.
- 44:30Speaker 2: So if that happened tonight, it probably means it's happening
- 44:35Speaker 2: every night all over the place in this city, and
- 44:41Speaker 2: you can't take on all that.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Somebody has to where's my big hoodie.
- 45:20Speaker 3: Paper Phantom.
- 45:21Speaker 2: You are at the Grimace king first. Eventually you wait
- 45:27Speaker 2: and anybody that comes in, You're like.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Is that them?
- 45:30Speaker 2: Is that them? Because everyone was wearing masks. Eventually Jamier
- 45:34Speaker 2: shows up and who does who does the paper phantom
- 45:38Speaker 2: see walking in?
- 45:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you see a young man. He's wearing a big hoodie. Yes,
- 45:47Speaker 4: he's wearing a zipper hoodie tonight, guys, he's he's wearing
- 45:51Speaker 4: a hood covered up mostly over his face, but you
- 45:54Speaker 4: can still see his chin. You see some scruff around
- 46:00Speaker 4: his lips, but you also see beneath the dark brown
- 46:04Speaker 4: eyes that connect with yours. I look you up and
- 46:09Speaker 4: down a little surprised. Jason is sitting in a in
- 46:14Speaker 4: a booth in the corner. He's he's ordered a smiley
- 46:18Speaker 4: meal and him playing with toys. Looks up, is wearing
- 46:22Speaker 4: a gray, weathered hoodie.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Uh. The words of page echo in his mind. You
- 46:28Speaker 3: should try and make friends, and I just awkwardly wave
- 46:32Speaker 3: a big, big dumb way.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Jamir for a second, like second guess is like, is
- 46:37Speaker 4: that good? I walk up to the counter I see.
- 46:46Speaker 4: I don't want to put you on this spot, Johnny.
- 46:47Speaker 4: I'm I'm imagining Jamir would probably know someone working. Just
- 46:55Speaker 4: with the nature of my job, I imagine I know
- 46:58Speaker 4: a lot of restaurant employees, and so I'm trying to
- 47:04Speaker 4: find a familiar face.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Yeah you see. Uh, your buddy who is a fry
- 47:10Speaker 3: cook here.
- 47:11Speaker 9: Uh.
- 47:12Speaker 3: And when it's late like this, has to do both jobs.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Come out and run the cash register and also do
- 47:20Speaker 2: the cooking. He comes out, your friend, Scottie.
- 47:25Speaker 4: Scotty, Scotty, did you mean good to see good to
- 47:29Speaker 4: see you?
- 47:30Speaker 2: Man?
- 47:30Speaker 3: What are you doing here tonight?
- 47:31Speaker 2: It's so late, I know, I know, just need to
- 47:34Speaker 2: just need a bite. It's raining out there. You're gonna
- 47:36Speaker 2: get a cold.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Yeah, let's do a double chicken uh at cheese, extra mayo.
- 47:45Speaker 4: And is it okay if I I'm eating with a
- 47:49Speaker 4: couple of people, do you mind if we cut out
- 47:52Speaker 4: through the back after we eat?
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, that's always how I go home. You
- 47:58Speaker 2: need any coffee? It's a chili out there with the rain.
- 48:01Speaker 4: No, no, no, I'm good. I'm good, all right, Jamia,
- 48:04Speaker 4: good to see you. Yeah. Yeah, I just put down
- 48:08Speaker 4: the money and I say no, rushauran on that man.
- 48:13Speaker 4: Take your time.
- 48:15Speaker 8: Yeah, of course, you know me. I'm always taking my time.
- 48:19Speaker 8: He's nothing wrong with that, brother, She ain't none wrong
- 48:22Speaker 8: with that. Quanta comes in and who do the boys see?
- 48:27Speaker 8: As they sit awkwardly at the booths in the corner.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Quanta is wearing a hoodie that's so big it goes
- 48:36Speaker 1: like to her.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Knees, impress it.
- 48:40Speaker 1: And the pouch is big enough though that she could
- 48:41Speaker 1: still put her hands in it. The hood is like
- 48:45Speaker 1: all the way up so that she can obscure her face.
- 48:49Speaker 1: And if you can see her face, she was wearing
- 48:51Speaker 1: a new pair of sunglasses and then just like a
- 48:54Speaker 1: pair of jeans and yeah, just covering up like as
- 48:58Speaker 1: much of her like opole day body as she can
- 49:04Speaker 1: and kind of hunches in and then just like slides
- 49:07Speaker 1: into the table, just seeing two other people there.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Hey, I.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Is this guy?
- 49:20Speaker 3: Well, it's it's me from before.
- 49:25Speaker 1: You're the paper guy.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Oh well, uh, that's you met my associate. Yes, wait
- 49:34Speaker 3: we invited him. Yeah, yes, yes we are. I am
- 49:40Speaker 3: his representation.
- 49:44Speaker 1: If you're great, if if he was hearing, and I'm
- 49:47Speaker 1: like one of the paper bags on the table from
- 49:50Speaker 1: the smiley meal.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Uh like wrinkles into a face. What, yeah, don't worry
- 49:58Speaker 3: about it. I'm sorry. He's kind of a dick though.
- 50:00Speaker 5: Pound my nugget.
- 50:04Speaker 3: I hadn't two nuggets left in there. I'm sorry, that's okay,
- 50:09Speaker 3: It's just sorry, I'm being rude. I'm Jason High.
- 50:14Speaker 4: Hello, Hi Jason. Well he already heard my name. Shoot
- 50:22Speaker 4: a glance over it, Scottie. My name is Jimir.
- 50:28Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I could feel it on the receipt from
- 50:30Speaker 3: your double chicken.
- 50:32Speaker 4: Yes, Scotti. Other're pretty loud too, scott he doesn't take
- 50:36Speaker 4: his time. You can feel the receipt. Huh oh yeah, yeah,
- 50:42Speaker 4: I just I'm just kind of crinkle little little. You're
- 50:51Speaker 4: a special care of a squirrel, ain't you.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Hey, I'm a big boy. Okay, you're awn make what? Yeah,
- 51:02Speaker 3: I'm a grown man. I think I'm older than you.
- 51:06Speaker 3: How old are you? I tell you how old I am? Dude,
- 51:10Speaker 3: I'm not four. Does he have a driver's license or
- 51:13Speaker 3: something in any paper on.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Jimier probably does not have any kind of identification.
- 51:20Speaker 4: I do not carry ID.
- 51:22Speaker 3: I know its size. Your pants are? Oh god, okay,
- 51:26Speaker 3: tag you sell stuff? What about you?
- 51:30Speaker 1: While this is happening quantas just like confirming that their
- 51:34Speaker 1: like energy is what she sensed before.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 51:39Speaker 1: Is can she tell that Jason was in the paper
- 51:43Speaker 1: phantom like that he was physically there?
- 51:45Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 51:46Speaker 2: I think with your powers scanning over him, you can
- 51:51Speaker 2: just tell that this is the same body.
- 51:54Speaker 3: I'll say too, I think just from from how the
- 51:59Speaker 3: book and and are one, you would see a bunch
- 52:02Speaker 3: of electrical activity everywhere except for a dead spot in
- 52:05Speaker 3: his chest.
- 52:06Speaker 1: What I mean, both of you? What I mean what
- 52:10Speaker 1: I was about to say? What are you?
- 52:12Speaker 10: But?
- 52:12Speaker 1: What are we?
- 52:16Speaker 3: I made a deal with a extra dimensional spirit of
- 52:19Speaker 3: some kind? Did you guys do that?
- 52:22Speaker 1: Honestly? Maybe?
- 52:24Speaker 3: Oh? What cool? Was yours in a book? Too?
- 52:30Speaker 1: No? No, but Jimi or you said that this wasn't
- 52:37Speaker 1: We're going to stay right.
- 52:38Speaker 4: I'm just waiting for my food. Did you want something?
- 52:42Speaker 1: No? No, I'm good.
- 52:45Speaker 3: They do eat.
- 52:46Speaker 1: I eat.
- 52:48Speaker 3: I know, I know, Okay, I know they.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Okay, I've just you know, some some humans. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:57Speaker 3: Scotty comes over with.
- 52:59Speaker 1: High down so far in my booth seat.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Scotty comes over with your bag and throws it on
- 53:06Speaker 2: the table. Herego, Jimmy, anything for you kids, anything.
- 53:11Speaker 3: You want something, I just shake my head. It's good. Hey,
- 53:15Speaker 3: it's the best when Scotti's here. You know, nice? Can
- 53:18Speaker 3: I have a straw straw?
- 53:21Speaker 2: You want to drink a milkshake? All right, Jimmy, your
- 53:26Speaker 2: friends are strange. Yeah, they're acquaintances.
- 53:31Speaker 1: It's like my head is like level with the table
- 53:34Speaker 1: and my hoodie is just.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Over my whole face.
- 53:38Speaker 4: I take a big old bite, that first bite of
- 53:43Speaker 4: the crispy exterior of the double chicken with that American
- 53:49Speaker 4: cheese melted in between. I savor it, and I say,
- 53:54Speaker 4: all right, let's go. Follow me.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Got to give you a straw on the way out,
- 54:02Speaker 2: and you guys walk to Jamir's manor through the streets
- 54:06Speaker 2: of Sass.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Well, I'll flip open the counter, we'll walk past, I'll
- 54:12Speaker 4: close it behind, Jason will duck through the back exit,
- 54:18Speaker 4: and then I'll try again to sneakily slink our way
- 54:23Speaker 4: back to the manor.
- 54:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys get there, and you see the two
- 54:29Speaker 2: of you, this is your first time here. A big,
- 54:33Speaker 2: beautiful house, gray stone, four story shotgun house off a
- 54:39Speaker 2: really nice neighborhood in Sass. And as you enter beautiful
- 54:47Speaker 2: mahogany wooden floors and old molding and partitioned rooms. On
- 54:53Speaker 2: this first level. There's the kitchen, the den, the entryway,
- 54:57Speaker 2: a beautiful home.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Damn, Jamie, are you like a doctor? No?
- 55:06Speaker 4: Does anybody want coffee?
- 55:09Speaker 1: Yes? Please?
- 55:10Speaker 2: Sure, there's coffee and chips and guacamole left out for you,
- 55:15Speaker 2: along with some small lemon cookies.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Is anyone else in the house? Can I see anybody?
- 55:21Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 55:21Speaker 2: Go ahead and roll a roll a scan six? You succeed,
- 55:27Speaker 2: You sense, Dirk? You since there's a basement level here
- 55:33Speaker 2: and there's someone down there?
- 55:35Speaker 1: Who else is here?
- 55:37Speaker 3: What else?
- 55:38Speaker 1: There's someone in the basement? Who else is here?
- 55:41Speaker 4: She lives here? This is her home. How did you
- 55:44Speaker 4: do that?
- 55:45Speaker 1: Electricity? It's in all of us and I can see it.
- 55:49Speaker 4: Oh cool. Well, you weren't supposed to know about her.
- 55:55Speaker 4: Not that I don't trust you, guys, but I don't
- 55:57Speaker 4: know you guys, and I didn't want to bring her
- 56:02Speaker 4: into this, So we're cool, right.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Yeah. Look, Arthur always says a stranger's just a friend
- 56:12Speaker 3: you haven't met yet. You say, Arthur is if we
- 56:15Speaker 3: would know who that is? He's also a stranger to you?
- 56:18Speaker 3: Who is a friend that you have not met yet?
- 56:20Speaker 3: He's like my he's like my dad, grandpa dad, He's
- 56:25Speaker 3: he's cool. Are you four? What are you four years old? No,
- 56:31Speaker 3: I'm twenty two. I think i'm the oldest one. Well
- 56:37Speaker 3: you don't know that. Yeah, I don't know how you
- 56:41Speaker 3: got all this money. You're like you're my age. Yeah,
- 56:45Speaker 3: let's not worry about that right now. How the mortgage
- 56:48Speaker 3: gets paid. I look over and say, I'm gonna be real.
- 56:55Speaker 3: I had no clue what was going on in that.
- 56:57Speaker 3: I didn't know who these people were. What's going on?
- 57:00Speaker 3: You guys seem to be way more in tune with
- 57:04Speaker 3: the messed up shit that's going on. I know.
- 57:08Speaker 4: I mean, I saw you with the electricity, and I
- 57:14Speaker 4: saw the you know, specter behind you. I didn't know
- 57:19Speaker 4: if you were up to something you were breaking into
- 57:21Speaker 4: a place. And then I saw the phantom chasing after you.
- 57:25Speaker 4: I didn't know if he was going to attack you.
- 57:26Speaker 4: I just I knew something was up. Yeah, I'm glad
- 57:31Speaker 4: he didn't. He doesn't you the phantom?
- 57:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm you know, it's sort of a we both
- 57:40Speaker 3: have a hand on the wheel every once in a
- 57:41Speaker 3: while kind of a situation. Well, Jason, how do you
- 57:46Speaker 3: like your coffee, Oh, tons of cream, mostly cream. Just
- 57:52Speaker 3: a drop of coffee for me?
- 57:53Speaker 4: And out of curiosity does the phantom take his coffee?
- 57:58Speaker 3: Similarly, I can ask him, hang on, hey, how do
- 58:03Speaker 3: you like your coffee? Black as the night? As ink?
- 58:08Speaker 1: Do we hear that? No?
- 58:10Speaker 3: Just talking to m okay cool? He like I guess
- 58:14Speaker 3: we have different tastes.
- 58:16Speaker 4: Okay, same body, different coffee tastes.
- 58:21Speaker 3: Yeah, your guys's powers aren't like a thing that you
- 58:25Speaker 3: can like talk to and stuff.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Only twice in my life, I think, God.
- 58:32Speaker 4: That would be so nice. I talked once to the
- 58:36Speaker 4: guy who gave me these powers, but there's no one.
- 58:41Speaker 4: How did you get me? That's private? Is there any
- 58:46Speaker 4: do I send any paper?
- 58:47Speaker 3: In the house? Oh, there's so much paper paper?
- 58:53Speaker 10: You know?
- 58:53Speaker 3: What kind of stuff? Do I feel on the writing?
- 58:55Speaker 4: And what are you doing? What are you doing? I
- 58:58Speaker 4: see both both of you, just like.
- 59:02Speaker 1: We've just looking at all the electricity making a map.
- 59:09Speaker 2: You notice Maria is leaving. The door closes, Maria heads out,
- 59:15Speaker 2: Dirk is up one flight asleep or not sleep, I
- 59:19Speaker 2: mean he's he's out in a bed. And then paper man,
- 59:23Speaker 2: this is a crazy roll roll roll an investigation check
- 59:28Speaker 2: with your paper.
- 59:29Speaker 3: Nancy, it's only got two.
- 59:33Speaker 2: I rolled a four on a difficult check. You sense
- 59:36Speaker 2: a ton of paper, both of you. There's a point
- 59:40Speaker 2: of interest here. There's a lot of energy flowing in
- 59:44Speaker 2: a room on the very top floor, and most of
- 59:47Speaker 2: the paper in this place is in that same room.
- 59:51Speaker 2: But you there's too much of it dense compacted for
- 59:56Speaker 2: you to really pull anything from it.
- 59:58Speaker 3: And you're you're far away, sure, but I know he's
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: got like a bunch of books. There's a much of
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: paper up there.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Did you.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: What was that?
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: What was what?
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: I saw his face? He did a thing. Oh, I
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: was just checking to see what paper was lining around.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: Yeah, you guys seem more.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: I don't know good at this than I do.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: I'm I don't know what you mean by this, but
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure I'm not.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: Yeah, me neither. I'm I'm just the I'm the assistant.
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: I mean, you were you were kicking some serious ass
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: tonight brother. Oh thanks, Yeah, it looked like pretty cool.
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: I liked when you electric you that rhightinow. That was cool.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that was helpful to have the gold on there.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: That was awesome, both of you. That was I mean, again,
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: I feel a little weird about it, but those guys
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: were clearly in the wrong, so I don't feel too
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: bad about it. And that was awesome.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you can fly, that's crazy kind of yeah.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I was cool, and I really want
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: to know who you guys are and why you can
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: do what you do. But like all of that is
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: still happening. We're just like about to sit here and
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: drink coffee.
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: I don't.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: My mouth is filled with guacamole.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: I sit down, take a chip, scoop up some guac,
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: slather the guac on my next bite of my chicken sandwich,
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: and I say, we're all in over our heads and
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: if we can put whatever puzzle pieces we have together
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: and try to work together whatever is going on out there,
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: I think we can do a lot more good with
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: some help. And then I take another bite.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that's what I'm learning tonight is that
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: this is way too big for me.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: Yeah. I think if we share resources and work together,
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: maybe we can do more good. We can. Oh, we
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: can make one of those things where you put the
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: paper on the wall and put a bunch of string
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: with it. I started wine in my bedroom, but I
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: don't have a lot of stuff on it.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: What's on it?
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: Just stuff about the mob right now? And I don't
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: know this book. It might be from Egypt, and I
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: just like tap my chest. I don't know.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: It's a book. Huh it's a book. That blank space
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: is a book.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, all right, I like pull down my
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: hoodie and show them my chest is just the front,
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: open folded leaf of a book.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Oh what the fuck? Hey, Okay, I reach out to
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: touch it.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: It feels like paper. It's the book.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Do you feel that?
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Yeah? But I can feel paper?
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: So do I see like a signal running from like
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: like a like a nerve ending that I'm touching? Nothing?
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: I think it's so. Look, all I know is this
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: has something to do with magic. You guys aren't magic.
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: I'm magic kind kind of.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: How Magic's real.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Magic's definitely real.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: I'm studying it.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Oh cool, I'm I was.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: I mean, I guess I just the book in your
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: fucking chest. I don't know what's real anymore.
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: Yeah, magic's real. So that's awesome. I am starting to
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: crack the code on some texts that I have upstairs,
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: And look at Jason.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: I know about the texts that are upstairs but I
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: would love to look at him, if that's okay.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: Maybe, So you're trying to fight the mob and you're
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: trying to fight the bad people at the Church of
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: the New Babble.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Day, Yeah, pretty much. They Yeah, there was like a council.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: There is a council.
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: I'm loosely familiar with the church. I visited only once
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: with a friend. I went there was there was a
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: free meal after it was too weird.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Yeah, no, no.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Disrespect, No, no, I'm I'm so sorry. No, I never
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: really believed it anyways.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: But hey, didn't the paper say that you were like
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: the president of the church or something.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: Yeah, you're like a big deal.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Yeah it was the archday.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Yes, did you get a cool hat?
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: No, but I got I had a cool clothes. Hell yeah, yeah,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: cool place to live anything I wanted.
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: That was pretty quick, right, Yeah. Yeah, I'm sorry.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: No, no, no, it's it's fine. I mean, you know, you
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: get to keep your secrets, but mine are out there.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: So hey, but not not this, not this secret though.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: This this stays here, Okay, I promise, okay, And I
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: mean you guys have seen my face and you know
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: my first name. This is this is a leap of faith. Right,
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: I've had enough about faith, But.
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: Okay, this is an exercise and trust sure cards on
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: the table. I was in the Mayor's office. I don't
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: work there anything, but I happen to be in there
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: and I I swiped some paper. Do I still have they?
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: Do I still have the actual paper?
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: Johnny? No? No, the.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: Oh I destroyed it.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: No, you didn't destroy it. The woman took it from Ah.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: Yeah, she took it from Taylor. I learned something that
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: I was definitely not supposed to know.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: You said a piece of paper. Was it important?
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: It was.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: It was like a to do list that the city
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: council was working on with the mayor, basically trying to
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: destroy our city from my perspective. And I go down
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: the list, Johnny, detailing in specific their plans.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: Yes, the note that Jimmy Y're found in the mayor's office.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: The heading was shit we can do after winning the election,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: implying that the election for the mayor was already in
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: the bag. And then it was a list of things.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: Some of them were like tax the shit out of
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: small business, crack down on illegal in quotes, smuggling and
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: production of goods, require all schools only to accept students
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: that live within their district, and require all banks and
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: lenders to receive proof of address before people seek loans
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: for housing. Those last two things are kind of redlining tactics.
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: Well, yeah, so I got roughed up and I tried
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: to tell an officer about what I had found, who
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: thought he could take it to someone that he trusted.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: But he got killed and they made up a whole story,
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: and nobody but us now knows the truth.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. I'm pretty much in a similar boat.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: So I, like I said, I learned about this assassin
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: my point upstairs.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: Yet Dirk Dirk.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: I learned about Dirk and the men that were using him,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: and they killed a friend of mine. Well, somebody I
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: knew and framed me for it.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, sorry, guys.
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: I thought it was just a government we had.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: I thought it was just the church. The mob might
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: not be as big a concern at least right now.
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: I did maybe do a murder. Oh technically it's okay,
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: it's fine. I think, okay, look, I think we maybe
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: you said I that time, Well, yeah, I was there.
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: I would be.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: A no, you're you're doing it? I saw you. It's you.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: You were the one flying around. You were the one
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: throwing swords made out of paper.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: Kind of yeah, it's complicated. I mean you you just
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: felt my paper like you have the powers too, right, Jason?
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Sure, As far as I understand, the phantom and I
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: are bound together, he does some things and I do
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: some things. We're take We're trying to take turns and
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: sharing his caring. But I think in that moment maybe
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: it was me that done did the murder. But I'm
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: not sure. Look, I'm not admitting anything. Here's my point.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: We should try and get our priorities straight. I pull
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: out a notebook from my backpack of paper. Okay, evil Mayor?
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: Is that number one? Do we want to put that
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: as just a not not ranking, but just like Evil Mayor?
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Okay, I'm like I put like ten spoonfuls of sugar
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: in my coffee church cabal?
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, okay? Is it just now? This is where
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: I'm sloppy. So there's two day flavored churches? Right?
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: Is the other one?
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: I don't know. They might as well check it out
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: if we can get to it.
- 1:11:24Speaker 11: Boys, Okay, earn both churches and apparently the Catholic churches
- 1:11:30Speaker 11: where they were snatching people that ended up where we
- 1:11:34Speaker 11: were tonight.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: The people that were stuck there, right.
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: Church is involved, great multiple church. The ass goes okay,
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: and then the Irish mob is part of this.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: Uh the leader is gone now, so I'm not sure
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: you murdered. Yeah his name was Seamus, and yeah, yeah
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: he's I think that they're they're good, but I did
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: see some people from the mob that they might be
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: like lower priority. I would say, I feel like I've
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: solved that problem for myself, at least with with with violence.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: Maybe we could selectively, carefully, thoughtfully, I like these adverbs,
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: use that same approach to solve these other problems.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Seems like we might have to, or at least use
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: what we can do to find out more and find
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: out if there's anyone in these places that we can
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: trust that we can help. Maybe there's somebody already out
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: there working on some of these things. Maybe there's somebody
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: already knows.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: I get a little bit of research trying to learn
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: about old heroes before they disappeared, but I didn't turn
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: up much. All I came across is the name Spellbook.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: But I don't know I know a lot about Spoll book.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: What you do?
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I'm a huge fan. I mean, I
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: don't know where you're doing your research, but library, I
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: work at the library. Nice. I mean I just talked
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: to a bunch of old fans. You know a lot
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: of guys, guys that were really into the old heroes
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: to hang out at comic book shops and a few
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: bars in town. And you know, there's still people who
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: have stories from their their parents or grandparents, and yeah,
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: we don't know how much if it's true, but you know,
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: well there's a group of us that are.
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: Trying to piece things together. So wait, you think maybe
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: that these heroes they might have been real? Most definitely,
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: maybe we can. Do you think any of them are
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: still alive?
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: No, they're gone. That we're also sure. And none of
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: them had powers like us that I've heard of. I mean,
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: there were people that could do things with the weather.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: But are you guys talking about the evos?
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: Sure, yeah, they were a part of it, but there
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: are also others that their powers came from sources less clear.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't know that. You know, my education was kind.
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: Of I liked your idea. Squanta told us her real
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: name yet. I mean, you know it from the news.
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: Veronica Canter, Yeah, Veronica, you wanted to. I liked your
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: approach of asking questions first and then hurt. Yeah, murder later.
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: Can we not say murder? Can we just say fight
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: or smack or blast?
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's that's better. You're right, smack later.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Smack later.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah, we can smack people to death. That's fine.
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: So I don't know. I'm just saying like it's gonna
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: be really hard, guys. All I can do is cut people. Okay,
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: it's it's not I don't have a good suffocated them.
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's a much less violent avenue.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: Man. I thought suffocating to death is a pretty shitty
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: way to go.
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it worse anyway.
- 1:15:18Speaker 10: Hold on, when you're suffocating a person with paper, are
- 1:15:27Speaker 10: you feeling what the paper feels sugar?
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I could feel what the people the paper was
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: feeling like. I could feel his like weird bird face
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: pressed up against it.
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: And okay, just man, that's I don't know why I
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: asked that. I don't think I wanted.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: Man, I thought feeling everybody's feelings was bad. That's terrible.
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: People write down horrible ship have you ever felt somebody's
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: diary anyway?
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: I guess I haven't.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: Well, I don't know. I want to start.
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: I don't know how you guys are feeling. This has
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: been a lot. This is a good start. We can
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: stay up and try to get some work. We could
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: also crash. There's like, how many bedrooms are in this manner?
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: Johnny?
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: I say how many? Because I know.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: There's four on each floor, so there's eight bedrooms.
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: I say, yeah, there's like eight What there's eight bedrooms? Yeah,
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: there's eight bedrooms, so you know your your assassin acquaintance
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: is in one of them up there. But I mean,
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: this has been a big night. And if we're riding
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: the high and want to try to piece things together,
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: that's cool. But if we want to take a break either,
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: we can also come at this with fresh eyes. I
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: don't know if you guys have work in the.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Morning, no, but I don't. I don't want to leave
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: here when it's daylight.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: What day of the week is it, Jenny, it's Friday night? Hey, okay,
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: all right? Library opens late on Saturday. All right. I mean, hey,
