- 0:16Speaker 3: Hi, very well, thank you. I am a new listener,
- 0:20Speaker 3: and I enjoy your show until... Uh-oh, what? You know, sometimes... Why?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Why?
- 0:26Speaker 3: A lot of your callers you make fun of.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:30Speaker 3: You interrupt them.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Yes.
- 0:32Speaker 3: You say you don't know what they're talking about.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Yes.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I think it's very condescending and rude. Why?
- 0:38Speaker 2: It's not funny. What a pain in the ass you are.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I said new callers, not callers that give us a
- 0:47Speaker 2: hard time.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Yeah, you've got to screen your callers a little bit.
- 0:50Speaker 2: No, we don't screen. We don't screen. No, if you
- 0:52Speaker 2: don't know what you're talking about, I have to tell you.
- 0:54Speaker 2: If you're taking too long, I got it.
- 0:55Speaker 3: No, it's not nice.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Yes, yes.
- 0:58Speaker 2: It's nice. You're wrong.
- 1:01Speaker 3: You know what? If you did that to me once,
- 1:03Speaker 3: I'd never call you again.
- 1:05Speaker 2: You got to do it sometime. No, it's not everybody. Hey,
- 1:09Speaker 2: the people I do that to call back a million times.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Have a little sense of humor, Lucia. Where are you
- 1:14Speaker 2: in Westchester?
- 1:15Speaker 3: All right, all right.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Where are you in Westchester?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Where are you in Westchester?
- 1:19Speaker 3: I'm in Katona.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Well, see, already you got a sense of humor. Katona.
- 1:26Speaker 2: It's very nice. A little out of the way, Katona,
- 1:28Speaker 2: but it's very nice there.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. It's Bedford. It's beautiful. I love it here.
- 1:34Speaker 2: It's beautiful there, unless you want to do something. Otherwise,
- 1:37Speaker 2: it's a little.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Well, we don't want to do anything. We don't want
- 1:41Speaker 3: to see people. We want to be alone.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Well, you've got the right place for it. You're right
- 1:46Speaker 2: near that Martha Stewart.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Well, she's not here anymore. She left.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Oh, thank God. Thank God. Yeah, we hated her. She
- 1:54Speaker 2: makes you look like a lot of fun. I'm kidding.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It's a joke. It's a joke. See, now you laugh.
- 1:58Speaker 3: All right, all right, all right. Be nice to people,
- 2:02Speaker 3: especially old people. We feel bad if you're not nice.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Oh, just have a little sense of humor. Keep listening,
- 2:09Speaker 2: and you'll see if you get used to it. Let's
- 2:11Speaker 2: go to Linda in Long Island. Linda, how you doing?
- 2:15Speaker 3: Hi, Mark. I just wanted to agree with you. I
- 2:18Speaker 3: can't believe that. Taylor Swift, disgusting. It's not disgusting.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I couldn't believe it's real. It's a little boring.
- 2:26Speaker 3: It was.
- 2:27Speaker 4: It sounded like a noise in front of her trying
- 2:30Speaker 4: to sing.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I can't believe she conned people out of a billion dollars.
- 2:34Speaker 2: It's not disgusting.
- 2:35Speaker 1: At least a billion.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Okay, you'd rather have Viti Gourmet, is that it?
- 2:39Speaker 3: No, I'd rather have Whitney Houston.
- 2:41Speaker 2: That's a real singer.
- 2:43Speaker 3: She's disgusting, Taylor Swift.
- 2:44Speaker 2: She's not disgusting. It's a little boring.
- 2:46Speaker 3: She's a con artist.
- 2:47Speaker 2: She's not a con artist. It's a little boring.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Yes, she is.
- 2:50Speaker 2: It's a little boring. Listen to this. Third, fourth time,
- 2:53Speaker 2: it starts to grow on you.
- 2:56Speaker 4: That singing?
- 2:57Speaker 3: That's really? Really? I can't believe that.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I would never go near that by that.
- 3:02Speaker 3: That is ridiculous. All right. Whitney Houston, wasn't she great?
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but, okay, I want you to wait about a
- 3:09Speaker 2: month and a half.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Compare them.
- 3:11Speaker 2: You're going to hear this on the radio 50 million times.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Then you'll love it. You'll be humming it. I'll never
- 3:16Speaker 2: love it. You're going to have to play this at
- 3:17Speaker 2: your birthday party. Okay, let me hear you do it.
- 3:22Speaker 2: All right, I can't. Not anybody can do it.
- 3:24Speaker 4: All right, you got me.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I can't do that.
- 3:26Speaker 2: All right. Oh, I could, but not.
- 3:28Speaker 4: On the air. I can do it alone.
- 3:30Speaker 2: All right, Linda, give it a chance. We'll see if
- 3:33Speaker 2: we had fun.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:34Speaker 2: All right. Take care. Let's go to Ralph in Manhattan. Ralph,
- 3:37Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Hey, Mark, you know, you talked about the Carnegie Deli
- 3:43Speaker 1: a few days ago and the Broadway Danny Rose that
- 3:47Speaker 1: about mid 80s. Was that not a fantastic time during
- 3:50Speaker 1: that time when they featured the great Carnegie Deli and
- 3:53Speaker 1: and Woody was walking with his the guy that played
- 3:57Speaker 1: the Italian singer in that movie was.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I think his name was. Apollo Forte, if I'm not mistaken.
- 4:03Speaker 2: That's right, Nick Apollo Forte. Hey, everybody go back and
- 4:06Speaker 2: get the movie Broadway Danny Rose. Watch it again. The
- 4:08Speaker 2: Carnegie Deli is one of the stars of the movie. But,
- 4:11Speaker 2: you see, in those days, the front table was like
- 4:14Speaker 2: the celebrity table. Whatever big stars were in town would
- 4:18Speaker 2: all meet at the celebrity table there. I used to
- 4:20Speaker 2: go there all the time, sit there. At, like, 11
- 4:22Speaker 2: o'clock at night, everybody would show up after their shows.
- 4:25Speaker 2: And they would just tell stories and talk show business stuff.
- 4:28Speaker 2: In the movie Broadway, Danny Rose, they show you that
- 4:31Speaker 2: table with a whole bunch of real comedians talking, and
- 4:34Speaker 2: that's where the movie takes off from. But go watch
- 4:38Speaker 2: the movie. You'll love it. It stars the Carnegie Deli. Broadway,
- 4:42Speaker 2: Danny Rose. Go watch the movie. Let's go to Vincent
- 4:46Speaker 2: in Brooklyn. Vincent, how are you doing?
- 4:47Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I'm okay. That Taylor Swift song
- 4:52Speaker 4: starts to grow on you like a herpes watch.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Okay, it's not Jerry Vale, but take a listen. Tell
- 5:01Speaker 2: me you don't like this.
- 5:02Speaker 4: You can't imagine Jimmy Roselli singing that? Well, no. Jimmy
- 5:15Speaker 4: Roselli was singing it. Every other word would have to
- 5:19Speaker 4: be bleeped out.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Look, let's put it this way. Okay, but picture Al Martino.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Jeff Beck or Eric Clapton, she is not on the guitar.
- 5:29Speaker 4: On a more serious note. Jessica Tish is doing a
- 5:33Speaker 4: wonderful job keeping all these nut job anti-Israel, all these
- 5:39Speaker 4: Jew haters in line at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza. Given that,
- 5:45Speaker 4: me personally, I believe at the end of next week,
- 5:48Speaker 4: when all these dirtbags go back home to their hookers
- 5:53Speaker 4: in black robes in these Arabic countries, But Jessica Grutish,
- 5:58Speaker 4: my opinion, should hand in her resignation.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I was with her yesterday. We had a big lunch.
- 6:04Speaker 2: In fact, you could see pictures of it on my Instagram.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Go to MarkSimoneNYC on Instagram. And I said, we all
- 6:11Speaker 2: have two words for you. Don't leave. And she said,
- 6:14Speaker 2: I'm not going anywhere. I'm just getting started.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Mark, I believe she would make a great mayor. And
- 6:23Speaker 4: I'm saying this because I don't want Julie Menon to
- 6:26Speaker 4: get the jump start on her.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Well, Julie Menon's not bad, but you're right.
- 6:30Speaker 4: She's starting these PACs and everything.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I know, I know. Vincent, we've got to go do
- 6:35Speaker 2: the news, but thanks for calling. Always a great call. Yeah,
- 6:38Speaker 2: she did say, and we had an audience there, like
- 6:40Speaker 2: 150 people. In front of the audience, she said, I'm
- 6:44Speaker 2: not going anywhere. I'm just getting started. So, hey, when
- 6:47Speaker 2: we come back, the great, brilliant economist Steve Moore will
- 6:51Speaker 2: will be with us next on 710WOR.
